but so hmmm a couple things no one's pointed out, as of my noticing,

-when the mains are looking at the newspaper about gardenview's shutdown, astro is looking at dandy, not the paper

-a lot of poeple noted the progression in the frames of delilah and the toons, but i don't think anyone's pointed out the sharp decline delilah has, like she got noticeably weak after creating finn, she's fallen down after making rodger, him trying to offer to help her(he was the only toon to notice something was wrong with her), the ichor stain on the floor when razzle and dazzle were made, (though it's plenty ambiguous, like maybe she spilled some ink/ichor my intention was that she threw up (threw up Before r&d were actually Made, it’s a stain she just hasn’t covered up yet)) and the stain is covered up with a rug when teagan is made. she's also wearing her glasses on her face more regularly as she makes them, and is sitting/leaning more often

-also some people thought shrimpo punched delilah here for no reason or just bc he’s angry/violent, but as the frames progress it goes from Immediately after the toon’s creation to Going to leave the room to introduce them to the others, he punched her bc he had Just been brought to life and she was in his face. scared him by accident <:]

-also arthur only got to be there for a small number of the toons creations, bc delilah was getting worse and she didn’t want him to see her like that

now a lot of delilah’s Deterioration comes from my own preconceived headcanons about toon creation from my ocverse that I’m just applying here for fun, but so: making a toon is extracting a fully formed and cognizant Thing from your heart and mind, your soul. a toon is generally going to be about as smart as you are, plus everything you intend for them to be. so that kinda takes a physical toll on you if you're making So Many and especially in a pretty short time frame. she's still making every toon on a different day but she's certainly not giving herself enough of a recovery period.

-i also don't think anyone's pointed out the first frame is a redraw of the secret page from the merch store :] imsogladtheyrefriends.com or imsohappytheyrefriends.com i don't remember the exact word

-in shelly's interaction with her twisted, she's trying to do the 'moving really slowly so it won't notice me moving at all' thing from like. all dinosaur media HDHSJSJ. she still has a bandage going back to the elevator though :( it noticed

-rodger also got hurt by his twisted, bro got beam attacked. did not get away fast enough after throwing the capsule back at it

-people technically Have noticed this but a lot of them misinterpreted what it was, vee is holding a seltzer prayer with the intention of spraying and short circuiting her twisted ! it does belong to looey though, which people did get right. she's giving it back to him going back to the elevator:]

EXACTLY. For the downfall timeline to work I'm expected to believe that Link's presence fighting Ganon was essentially meaningless. That things would've ended pretty much the exact same way with or without him, and nothing would change about the mythos after. Okay, why did I even bother playing the game then? It's such nonsense.

I really do strongly dislike the very idea of the 'downfall' timeline. Like it can be fun to play with a version of OOT where Link up and died, there's definitely some interesting stuff to be done with that, but I really hate that the 'downfall' timeline is something I have to consider canon despite it making infinitely less sense than simply interpreting OOT as a prequel to ALTTP. No 'if Link died' qualifiers, just as is. Since OOT was very, very obviously based on the backstory explained in ALTTP and all, y'know. Not everything fits 1:1, but that's par for the course with LOZ games, and the ending of OOT very specifically sets up ALTTP.

So it's just deeply, deeply irritating to me to have the 'official' timeline say 'yeah actually that ending did not set up ALTTP. ALTTP happened in a completely different version of the ending than what you saw', like. I really despise how that paves over the history of OOT and the franchise as a whole for the sake of some remote semblance of 'timeline consistency'. Playing ALTTP and then playing OOT and realizing OOT was basing itself on the backstory from ALTTP was a really cool moment for me and it pisses me off that I'm just supposed to pretend the game I played didn't pre-date ALTTP at all and instead some nebulous parallel version that we never saw in-game was the REAL precursor to ALTTP. I don't care how much it messes up the timeline I'm not doing that.

Literally who cares if Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and ALTTP all co-exist as wildly different OOT sequels. They can take turns. They can exist in a quantum state. Or they can exist in three different timelines the exact way they do now, I don't really care how people choose to interpret it on an individual level, I just don't like it when people treat the 'downfall timeline' as the presumed canon when, going by the actual games of OOT and ALTTP rather than the Hyrule Histoira, that makes very little sense.

I rlly love the theory where smilk possibly corrupted last by all his friends. So id like to imagine its either that He thought learning dark moon magic was the only way to save his friends (the beasts). OR was obessed with finding more knowledge to share with cookies or smth. Can’t function right now because all I can think abt is Corazon=black swan symbolism:(

WARNING!!! Me becoming the epitome of the phrase “the curtains are blue” AHEAD!!!

Like, black swans *black swan theory* symbolizes in literature and stuff a big change, twist, betrayal, or a surprising development. And than there’s Cora’s whole time as a spy before revealing himself to Law (twist!) and running away and betraying Doffy in the process (betrayal!), before he winds up double crossing the marines too (betrayal/unexpected development!) and his whole life for the time he had known Law was just unexpected reveal after another.

Another thing is that black swans were assumed to not exist by the Romans, the ppl who created most of the sayings and symbolism around these birds. Like how for much of Doflamingo’s life he had lived assuming that his brother was dead, thus no longer existing.

And once ppl realized that there IS such a thing as black swans, sometime in the 1600’s I think, the phrases where changed to reflect times when peoples ideas and systems of thinking are proven wrong by the mere existence of an unknown trait. Similar in my mind to the assumption that just about everyone in the Donquixote family had that Corazon was a clumsy, stupid, grunt who’s only real reason to be kept around beside his relation to Doflamingo was his unwavering loyalty to his brother. Literally every trait listed here became disproven once Corazon dropped his cover and proved himself to be highly intelligent, rigorously trained marine who was strongly opposed to much of his brother’s actions. (Admittedly the clumsiness wasn’t MUCH of an act).

Black swans are also known to be birds who are incredibly protective of their young, willing to fight another animal to the death in order to protect their chicks. God I’m going insane enough that I can’t tell how much of a reach all this stuff is.

And while this isn’t a BLACK swan, I also find there to be parallels between Corazon and MUTE swans for some pretty obvious reasons. Obviously there’s the whole mute thing linking them, but I also think that the fact that neither Corazon nor a mute swan is actually mute. Mute swans are generally quieter than most other swans, but they DO make their own calls, sorta like Corazon’s fake muteness.

And than there’s the whole phrase “a swan song”, meaning something or someone’s last performance, greatest achievement, or final battle of sorts. My mushy brain looks at this and immediately starts thinking about Corazon’s death, where he not only fought his last battle, but also completed what he considered to be the most important action in his life by saving Law. PLUS the phrase refers to the old belief that swans didn’t ever sing or make noise until just before their deaths, similar to how the only time that Doflamingo ever hears his adult brothers voice is during the few minutes before his death (at Doffy’s own hands)!!!

I’m not rlly sure how much of this is actually like a bunch of observations, and how much of this is just incomprehensible rambling from someone who reads too much in their free time and hyper-fixated on a side character who died years before the story he’s in even starts. Whatever. If u made it this far thanks tho!

ok, so this is an amazing idea as observation, and i'm going to talk about my thoughts on it.

as we know, buratsuta only cares about profit. the only reason why he originally hated blue lock was because it wasted too much money and because he really doesn't care about or even like soccer. the only reason he switched sides on blue lock after the u20 arc was because blue lock was cashing in lots of money for the jfu (japanese football union).

from a volume extra we saw, we know that the most viewed video on blue lock tv is nagi's five volley goal in the manshine vs bastard match. we also know that from his goal in the u20 japan match, he became unbelievably popular. we see that even after his downfall, he still has numerous fans (from the social media panels we see).

i mildly touched on this a few weeks ago when someone sent me an ask about how they were in mourning for nagi (post linked here, ask sent by sasukevrz -- for some reason i can't tag them😭), and i briefly talked about how eliminating nagi was a good choice in terms of story but a horrible choice in terms of sales and marketing.

nagi is well known to be one of the most popular blue lock characters. his merch sells extremely well because of this, and removing nagi from the story definitely isn't going to help nagi's sales. irl though, if season 3 comes out in 2026, then they have enough time to milk the kaiser merch, especially since nagi hasn't been eliminated in the anime yet.

again, i think it's a rlly good writing choice for kaneshiro to eliminate nagi and keep reo in. i still firmly believe that there should be a timeskip to the official 2022 world cup and then that would when nagi returns.

anyways, back to the topic, in the actual manga right now, there is no way that they can keep on selling nagi merch right now. he's been eliminated, and if they continue to sell merch of him, they're 100% going to get flamed online. since blue lock has still only been famous for 2 months (in world), they can't risk having the media turn against them.

i really hope this doesn't happen, but the jfu might make some sort of shit excuse to practically force nagi to participate again. we know from buratsuta that blue lock merch sells wonderfully, so losing the rights to sell merch of a young and attractive athlete will certainly be a stain on the jfu's name. i don't think ego would want or even allow this, considering how much he dislikes nagi and how nagi directly contradicts blue lock's philosophy, but the jfu might force it with some sort of threat.

now as for nagi himself, i don't think he would care that he's going back. i think he would definitely be confused and maybe even mildly irritated, but i think that if this situation does ever happen in the official blue lock manga, nagi would know that ego would never do something like this.

I went into more depth over here! I also wanna share a couple of videos I've been getting these perspectives from, because these folks are a lot more educated on the topic than I am.

I first heard the perspective that Biden was woefully unlikely to win from Olayemi Ulurin, in this video. She has a kind of "I can't blame anyone for not voting" perspective that I do think I agree with, largely because she's coming at it with nuance: Biden is not a compelling candidate, he's not likely to win, it makes sense people don't wanna vote for him, and the Democrats need to get their shit together and pick someone else.

She also posted this video (below) that goes way more in-depth into the issue, and which I think reflects (and GREATLY expands and adds to) my personal stance on the "vote blue no matter who" thing: i.e., voting is ultimately about making the fight easier for activists who are working for real change. It's important for that reason, not because the person you vote for can be trusted to do anything helpful of their own volition.

If you're gonna watch any of the videos I link here, watch that one.

The other source I've looked to a lot recently is Some More News, which is where I initially heard a lot more detail on the "Biden should drop out oh god oh please it's our only hope" perspective.

First was their podcast episode immediately following the recent Biden/Trump debate, in which they delve (somewhat casually, but thoroughly) into why Biden's 2024 campaign was so fucking terrifying for everyone who needs a Democrat win:

Those two videos are great just for understanding this election and why Biden dropping out is very much the best thing that could have happened. That's basically the topic for the full length of both podcast videos (where Olayemi just kind of touches on that specific question, in comparison). If you just want more details on that question and only have the capacity for one of these, you could probably watch either podcast video (I personally have only watched part of the second one, and all of the first one).

I'd also recommend these two channels for political insight in general.

Olayemi is great because she comes at things from an explicitly activist perspective, and she has a huge personal background in very grounded, concrete political activism, especially as a black immigrant woman. She brings in a lot of other experts as well, often themselves marginalized political activists, which is just a fantastic way to be exposed to a really awesome diversity of knowledgeable perspectives without having to look very far on your own. She's also relentlessly hopeful- and grounded in that hope- which is so, so important and refreshing.

Some More News is a good supplementary to Olayemi, imo, just in that they have a good, upbeat (and again, very grounded) energy, and they cover a lot of very current political stuff in an easy-to-digest kind of way. I find both them and Olayemi really fun to watch, but the vibes are definitely different between the two, and they're good counterpoints to each other- plus they tend to cover different stuff, which just helps broaden your awareness of what's going on, again without needing to look super far.

I know this is a lot of information; hopefully I've made it possible to sift through for the piece you actually want to start with, though. If nothing else, I really encourage folks to check out Olayemi and see if any of her videos catch their eye. She's really fantastic, and her stuff scratches my "video to do laundry to" itch while also being, like, a really valuable watch overall.

As for the other villains I’m not entire sure yet but here are some ideas:

Shadow link shows up every now and then in the cafe and at theatre club events. Reason for not being at the cafe much is simply because he’s in detention for some prank. Sometimes instead of detention he has to do some work. And most of it is usually to help other clubs set something up (mostly theatre club)

But he actually enjoyed helping the theatre gang out so much that he decided to join for some smaller roles every now and then :)) (William in Frankenstein or Mike Teevee in Catcf)

I think Vaati visits the cafe sometimes, but very rarely. And he’s usually a very annoying customer (think Karen)

I think on a bad day twi and wars don’t even let him enter. They just immediately get a spray bottle and spray him with water. Or something lol

I think he’s maybe one two grades above Four and wind. He used to bully them but doesn’t anymore because of the chain. You do not mess with them.

Demise works at the school four, wind, Ravio, Midna,.. etc go to

I don’t know as what but hylia works there too and they either love each other, hate each other, or are Exes

As for dark link. Probably waiter at ganons restaurant. Does not get along with wild very well. The only link he likes is shadow. Shadow thinks he’s cool but doesn’t tolerate him being mean to four. So dink keeps his mouth shut about any of the links when hanging out with shadow.

The ganons call him Dinkelmehl as a nickname (it’s German, please look it up, it’ll make sense)

Girahim might or might not be a teacher. Maybe with Fi too? I’m too sure about this one.

Also all the success stories seem so fake. I'm not one to doubt success stories but the first few all seem like they're the same Indian girl and then the last 2 sound like random fictional novels. Okay, I have to ask. Why do OOT 3D and Majora's mask 3D seem to be so divisive? Especially Majora's Mask 3D, which a lot of people seem to viciously hate for reasons I really don't get?

I never see anyone explain what they dislike about these games either, as if the way these remakes 'massacre' the originals is so glaringly obvious it needs no explanation, when as far as I can tell they're fine? OOT 3D is very faithful from what I can tell, with the sanitization of the Bottom of the Well being the biggest version difference, and yeah that really does suck, I think it's reasonable to dislike the game for that.

Majora's Mask 3D does have a lot more notable changes, but most of them seem like they were straight up for the best to me. The added quest with the Gorman brothers makes the Troupe Leader's Mask have an actual use, the ocarina now has its own item slot and no longer needs to be equipped, owl statues don't need to be hit with your sword to be activated and can be activated while you're transformed, the banker is closer to the clocktown owl statue, etc.

I can understand disliking the boss fight changes, but even that seems like it's at most a neutral difference. The addition of the eye weakpoints seems inoffensive to me, and the biggest difference in the fights seems like they've attempted to make them more elaborate, with more varied game mechanics, which hardly seems like a crime to me even if you dislike the new fights. Like I fucking hate the Gyorg fight's second phase, it's a janky annoying mess and the bane of my existence, but I really don't think its mere existence is worthy of vitriol. I think it's strange the original MM didn't have a more distinct second phase and that this was likely just the result of time constraints, and I think incorporating the transformation masks more in the fight is a very logical idea, even if (in case of Gyorg) the execution is kinda ass.

TBH from what I can find the only change that seems like it's actively for the worse are Zora Link's changed controls, specifically his lower swimming speed, which really is annoying as fuck for no reason. There's other changed details I get people being kinda upset over, but they rlly are just details. I just don't see the big deal I guess, the Bottom of the Well changes seem far more egregious and yet people seem to have a lot less issues with OOT 3D.

So I guess I just want to know why some people seem to dislike the remakes so much? I haven't played the originals so my view here is limited, but from what I can tell through watching playthroughs they're really not that different. Am I just missing something? Or is it just a case of nostalgia making people dislike a remake for changing things at all? Or just ppl hating the concept of the remakes on principle?

niku’s gojo in general is one of my favorites ever ever ever but i’m specifically adding a link to bten because . bten lives in my brain <3 and i adore both bten!reader & bten!gojo more than anything….. ANYWAY . niku’s gojo is my favorite for many reasons but above all else he just…. feels so real to me . sometimes i have to remind myself that i’m reading a fic and not canon content bc her gojo just FEELS like gojo . it’s a little scary. i read bten and heard kaiji tang’s voice in my ear 😭 i think it’s sooo difficult to capture the balance that canon!gojo has, but niku does it so effortlessly!!! he’s so charming and guarded and annoying and kind beneath it all and i’m just….. in love with him . that’s all. i do want to strangle him just a tiny bit but mostly i want to kiss him.

sel’s col!gojo…. my baby my husband the loml. i adoreeeee sel’s take on gojo and the way he views/approaches love ….. and just like niku her gojo feels so real and so grounded!!!! sel has a way of rounding out her characters and making them feel so human, which i. adore. and it works so well with gojo. col!gojo is canon to me idc. he’s so relatable to me and following his story with col!reader was just so touching 🥹🥹 i . cried . every time he blushed or got flustered i fell to my knees . flustered gojo is really hard to get right i think??? bc it’s just….. such a rare mood from him. but it feels so perfect in her fics. col!gojo reminds me of a plant in the softest, most loving way and i just want him to grow and embrace the sun !!!!!!!! i want him to be happy….

another general pick; alexis’s gojo!!!!!! (link goes straight to my personal fav which is a very bold statement to make but i think abt this fic constantly)…. this is another gojo that just feels. so canon to me somehow???? every time i read her gojo fics i’m just like yeah…. that’s gojo satoru. that’s the gojo satoru that i love and adore. it always reminds me of WHY i love him sm and it’s just….. such a wonderful feeling yk??? alexis rlly captures what i perceive as the core of his character!!!!! i can’t tell you what it is exactly but i feel that so strongly!!!!! he’s my baby and i love him so so bad. he makes me so happy and he feels so human:((((( i just love him…. him and his self-destructive little habits….. also special shoutout to idol!gojo bc he’s just soo. yeah.

then we have io’s flower shop!satoru <333 the fic isn’t out as of rn, but i added a link to a snippet that i’m still swooning over….. i ADORE this concept and it’s so perfect for io’s gorgeous and flowery writing!!!! he was made for her fr…… i just really love the idea of a soft, gentle, smitten satoru 🥺 and him being a flower boy rlly scratches an itch in my brain because of his canon ties to flowers!!! the fact that he kind of views other people as flowers. or at least compared them to flowers in ch. 236….. i just feel like this concept is . genius. nature loves satoru and he loves it back . he’s a nurturing soul at his core imo and that’s not something i see people explore super often, but this au captures it perfectly <33

It had been Pandora’s idea for the kiss to happen during ‘cotton candy’ and everyone had immediately agreed. It was a stroke of genius really. Barty had originally thought it should take place in a love song, but that wasn’t what this kiss was about. This kiss was about the freedom, the liberation everyone deserved to be who they were, to test their limits and experiment and not be judged for being queer or straight or promiscuous or prudish. Cotton candy was just that. A call for sexual liberation, a call to stop demonising young people for living their lives.

Kissing Evan was like…fuck Barty was no wordsmith, Regulus and Pandora wrote their songs. But kissing Evan was everything. He tasted sweet and minty like the gum he’d chewed right before the show. His hand was warm and calloused and currently threaded through the hair at the base of Barty’s neck, tilting his head up just so.

The instrumental was over, they’d missed their cue. Barty didn’t care. They kept on kissing till the song faded to a close and even then kept going till the clap of the crowd died down. They softly broke away but Barty couldn’t hide the grin that broke onto his face. Evan just grinned right back.

I would like to ask some questions about low empathy. I have struggled with feeling empathy for other people my entire life, but for some reason I feel it just fine with animals. Maybe even too much. I could overhear from the news on tv my parents play everyday that hundreds of people died due to natural disasters and lost their homes, and all I’d care about is how annoying the sound of the tv is and that I’d rather eat in silence. But for some reason, I could see a 30 second clip of a cat being taken in from the streets and I could break down crying. Would this be considered low empathy because of the lack of empathy for humans, or just normal empathy because of the high empathy for animals? Either way I’m rlly happy to have found this blog because its really helpful understanding not only my own experience, but understanding my friend who has no empathy :>

there's some data that human-centered and animal-centered empathy is different. some sources state that they correlate, but some find differences and state that they only weakly correlate. so it's possible to have higher empathy for animals than for humans.

also, i couldn't find scientific evidence, but i know anecdotal evidence from people with low empathy that they have higher empathy for animals and/or fiction characters than for people.

and another thing. it's just my reasoning without actual proofs, so take it with a grain of salt.

empathy for animals is very easy to mix with sympathy and/or compassion. why do you cry when you watch this clip? because you feel like it's you on the street, put yourself in the cat's shoes? or because you feel something about this cat? because you're sorry that it struggles? because you want to help it? because the first (sharing/understanding feelings and state of someone) is empathy, but the next are sympathy and compassion. people aren't as good at recognizing animals' feelings as they think. people tend to project their own emotions, body language, reactions, etc. on animals. metaphorically, empathy is a mirror that mirrors other's feelings on us. but can it mirror feelings that are from someone very different? this is a question from the same category as "can we actually understand other's feelings?" like. understanding someone is always approximation, is always some kind of projection. when we think that we understand how someone feels, we actually understand how we would feel in the same situation. there may be more or less flexibility, but in the end, there will always be some approximation. and for animals, these differences and approximations will be way bigger. because animals have different psychology, different perceptions, different senses, etc. and it makes me question the whole idea of empathizing with animals (if we define empathy as sharing and/or understanding someone's mental state). because like. we often don't even know what this state is, and we often have way less information and the ability to check it. also, empathy for animals may rely on different mechanisms than empathy for humans (at least partially). because empathy for humans is connected with like. fitting in, socializing, mimicking their behavior, this stuff. it was developed as a group survival tool. and for animals, it's different. that's what i assume.

so, you may have higher empathy for animals than for humans, and i think your low empathy for humans places you at low empathy spectrum (because it's a spectrum and people who have only partially low empathy still belong. they still face stigma and still have struggles). and also, your feelings towards animals may be explained not only by empathy, but by sympathy and compassion. maybe you have all three, maybe only some of them. so i'd recommend thinking about it.
