SAP System Consolidation in S/4HANA Projects
S/4HANA implementations often include system consolidation to capitalize on the platform’s efficiency for expanded operations, reducing costs, data duplication, and interface complexity. Mergers, IT standardization, or global initiatives typically drive these projects, though aligning diverse stakeholders can slow innovation. Critical steps involve resolving system differences, such as ledgers or enhancement packages, standardizing processes, and migrating data with tools like LSMW or the SAP Migration Cockpit. Simplifying interfaces, unifying user roles, and involving key users early via change management are essential. A comprehensive cutover plan, possibly tested through a mock-cutover, ensures a smooth production launch. Timo Götte’s report offers practical insights for success.

HAI HAIII ERM CAN I REQUEST HOUSEWARDENS WITH A FEM!READER WHOSE LIKE ENA SHINONOME BUT TENDS TO HAVE ENERGY WAVES LIKE EMU OTORI (⁎˃ᴗ˂⁎)
— housewarden x gn!reader. no cw/tw. established relationship. dividers: uzmacchiato.
Note: I don't know much about Project Sekai or its characters, but I did my best!! My apologies that this took so long!!
Riddle Rosehearts ༉⋆。˚
At first, Riddle is confused and overwhelmed. One minute you’re sitting in the garden talking about emotions and reading books with him… then suddenly you're spinning around yelling.
He scolds you every time you break a rule or get too loud — but only because it throws him off, not because he dislikes it.
He secretly finds your chaotic bursts kind of adorable — he’ll turn beet red when you tug him into a random dance in the hallway or yell his name just to see his reaction.
When you're in your Ena-mode, he enjoys having deep talks with you, especially over tea. Your introspection matches his structured world nicely.
Will never admit it, but when you go Emu-mode, he smiles if you’re not looking.
Leona Kingscholar ༉⋆。˚
Thinks you're a total weirdo, but in an amusing way. He’ll tease you constantly “So which version of you am I getting today? Poetic sap or pink tornado?”
Loves to nap next to you when you're calm. Your quiet presence is soothing, especially when you murmur poetic thoughts or hum.
But the second you jump on him yelling something like “Wakey Wakey, Leo!!” he’s throwing a pillow at your face with a growl.
Lowkey enjoys the unpredictable energy. It keeps things from getting boring, and let’s be honest — Leona gets bored easily.
If someone makes fun of your outbursts, he's instantly defensive.
Azul Ashengrotto ༉⋆。˚
At first, he thinks your personality is a ploy. Like, are you just trying to throw him off?
Your thoughtful, artistic side intrigues him. He loves it when you help write ad copy for the Lounge or talk about emotions.
The chaotic energy bursts, however, make him short-circuit. You once burst into the Lounge mid-rush yelling.
He panicked. And blushed. And tripped.
Eventually, he becomes addicted to your unpredictability. You bring a kind of light he didn’t know he needed.
His favorite secret is how easily you fluster yourself when you realize you are too loud or affectionate. He treasures your smile.
Kalim Al-Asim ༉⋆。˚
LOVES IT.
When you’re calm and poetic, he stares at you in awe like you're painting pictures with your voice.
When you go Emu-mode, he joins in immediately. You two end up feeding off each other’s energy—your bursts trigger his excitement, and vice versa. Expect chaotic, loud moments full of laughter and joy.
The two of you have caused explosions of confetti and impromptu song battles in the dining hall.
Jamil is constantly trying to escape the chaos.
Kalim thinks you’re the perfect match because you both understand the joy in switching gears — calm or chaotic, you’re always genuine.
Vil Schoenheit ༉⋆。˚
At first, he finds your Emu outbursts exhausting. He’ll sigh and scold you for being “overly animated” in public.
But after some time, he realizes your emotional honesty — in both states — is rare and beautiful.
He especially loves it when you're calm and introspective, speaking in metaphors or sitting with him during skincare routines.
When you do go full Emu, he just closes his eyes and lets you get it out of your system.
“Five minutes. I’ll give you five minutes to perform your imaginary musical number.”
Will gently hold your hand when you fluster yourself mid-hyper act. He finds it endearing when you get shy after being the center of attention.
Idia Shroud ༉⋆。˚
Is low-key terrified of your Emu bursts the first few times. He’s used to your quiet Ena side and feels comfortable with it—so when you suddenly start clapping excitedly or babbling at high speed, his hair flares up in shock.
At first, he couldn’t handle it. When you laughed too loudly or pulled him into dancing in the hallway, he practically fizzled out like a dying Roomba.
BUT… he secretly stalked you because he found both sides of you fascinating.
Loves talking to you when you’re in Ena-mode. Long poetic messages, and he sometimes responds with ASCII art.
You once broke into his room screaming and he hid under his blanket. You were later seen sobbing at the memory from embarrassment. He now thinks you're “dangerously moe.”
You are the literal definition of his favorite type: “awkward yet powerful.”
Malleus Draconia ༉⋆。˚
You're a mystery to him, and he adores it.
Malleus is intrigued by your Ena-like quietness; he feels you understand him.
The first time you burst out like Emu, excitedly waving your arms about something small (maybe you spot a cute bug or think up a fun event idea), he is delighted.
But then you suddenly grab his hands and shouting, “Let's have a dance party!”
He blinks. Then he actually starts dancing.
Finds your energetic outbursts charming — they remind him of something ancient and whimsical, like fairy mischief.
He often stares at you when you’re lost in thought or when you suddenly start laughing at something random.
Will always ask, “Are you alright?” when you look flustered after one of your chaotic moments — but he smiles softly, clearly enjoying them.

a/n: 2.3k - boothill finds you digging around in junk and then offers you a gift he hopes you won't refuse... [plsdontflopplsdontflopplsdont-]
the heavy metal clinking of boothill's foot steps clank their way to your shop's door. an all too familiar door he'd always find himself going up to whenever he was in need of repair- big or small. the swiveling security camera you keep at your entrance blinks with red-lit life and moves to start following his movements as soon as he enters it's field of vision.
who knows if you're ever actually paying attention to the camera feed or not though. you can be careless like that. sometimes you're just out- couldn't be bothered or could care less about the remote feed linked directly to your phone. other times, you're so focused on some project you neglect it entirely.
based on the sign hanging on your shop's door he was familiar with- it seemed that this time in particular you were out.
boothill didn't need to know how to write- much less read well- to take a wild gander as to where you had wondered off to. putting his spring loaded and metal jointed hands on his slim waist, his chin dips with an amused chuckle and shake of his head. the cowboy lifts the toe of his mechanical boot and twists his body fully 'round; his spurs scrapping across the ground during his lazy about-face. with one foot in front of the other and thumbs hooked through the hollow crops of his trousers, the galaxy ranger makes his way towards the junk yard.
it would never occur to the standard person to spend their free time digging around a scrap yard filled with junk thrown out for a reason- but you were anything but standard. if you weren't tinkering around in your shop or finishing up a repair or commission, you were scrounging around the grounds for material or 'hidden treasure'... which was key for just slightly more valuable junk.
a typical haul for you would be a few pieces of scrap metal you could use for wielding, the rare unstripped screw or loose gaggle of bolts, and all sorts of wire. if it saved you a few credits by finding material instead of buying them, you weren't one to argue with free trash.
passing under the wire-metal gate leading into the fenced-off territory, his thumbs still tucked into his pant legs, his ears stay sharp. listening for any sound of you digging around in some heap while his head swivels back and forth to try and catch a glimpse of you.
"ey, sugar, you around!" boothill shouts, one of his hands detaching from his hips to cup around his mouth. he wanders further in, gets more ground, before calling out the same sentence a second time. shaking his head in bewilderment on how far in you had gone digging, he goes even further still and tries calling out a third time.
"here!" you finally answer back. your voice echoes around him, bouncing off the scrap metal and spooking the rats and other critters that call the junk yard home. his head turns in the direction of your voice, the way his body leans towards it before his feet start carrying him that way never took notice in his own mind.
eventually, he makes it to you. squat down to the ground, under the rusty remains of some poor saps long eroded escape pod from whatever solar system they crashed in from. he crosses his arms, then his ankles, leaning his metal shoulder on the ruined dome you were digging under.
the ranger had no idea how long you had been out here, but judging by the half full bag you kept on your shoulder and the grease sticking to your neck and exposed skin he could guess it's been a bit. he chuckles when you dig out a rusted, broken pipe of... something, before tossing it over your shoulder with a disappointed click of your tongue and looking up at him. your cheeks had some gunk on it too, probably from you wiping the back of your gloves on it.
"fancy diggin' around in junk?"
"it's not all junk."
"the fudge it aint," he scoffs. to him, it absolutely was all junk. "this aint called the dang junk yard for nothin, sugar."
"it's a scrap yard."
"stubborn-bottom." you move to stand up, clapping your gloved hands together before taking them off so you could use your hands more freely. "good to see ya took my advice and startin' wearing some forkin' gloves around here." he eyes around at all the rust and sharp metal. "gonna get tetanus or somethin', and we can't have that."
"im liable to get tetanus from you before anything else," you joke so straight-faced it didn't feel like a joke. his crossed arms drop along with his jaw and his stance straightens as he uncrosses his ankles.
"ey', i aint as forkin' filthy as you pretend i am, and you know it." you shrug with a half smirk that was so dismissive he was tempted to keep arguing. you push the goggles you were wearing over your eyes to avoid getting anything in them and possible irritation onto your forehead. seeing the contrast between your sweaty, grease and dirt marked skin and the clean skin that was protected under the goggles had him scoff. "yer filthier than i am, by the look of things."
you roll your eyes and move to climb out of the rusty treasure trove of junk you had deemed no longer having anything of value. reaching out, boothill offers you his hand. you take it easily as he starts pulling you up and out to stand in front of him. your hand drops from his when you stand safely in his bubble, and he isn't sure if you know how close you are or not.
your nose is always so focused in tinkering around or messing with work that you can't always... read the room so to speak. its endearing, until it gets frustrating anyway.
"so, what're you here for this time? need something fixed again- i swear if you already burned through that new servo i replaced a month ago, im going to take off your arm and you won't get it back for a week."
"well, that's awful sweet of you." you knew by his dry tone and sneered lips that exposed his sharp teeth that the word sweet was definitely supposed to be a different five-letter word starting with 's'. one that his broken beacon (which you refuse to fix out of entertainment) wouldn't allow him to say.
"seems like an appropriate consequence to me, considering i don't charge you for repairs."
"i ain't here for not goose-dud repair," he hisses. "i had planned on givin' ya somethin', but based on your sweet attitude i aint so sure about it now."
"you brought me something?" he nods. "from a different solar planet?" he could see the curiosity start to ignite in your eyes. he nods again. you stuff your gloves into a pouch in your pants that he swears you've sewed another pocket into, before you're marching away from him and towards the entrance he had marched from at the beginning of this search. "well come on, let's get a moving!" you shout over your shoulder.
his synthetic voice chuckles at your back. eagerly waltzing after you.
boothill soon finds himself sitting with his knees apart and comfortably lounging with his arms on the back of your worn-down, two-cushioned couch the moment you two got back to the shop. he had taken himself to your quote- reception room, as he waited for you to unload your finds from the junkyard (meaning you just took your bag, flipped it upside and let its content spill out unceremoniously onto your worktable before you would eventually sort through it at a later time).
the tapping of his metal toes against your floor echoed dully against the rug under the sofa as you soon made your way to stand in front of him, hands on your hips and an expectant look in your eyes. flicking the brim of his hat cheekily to get a better look up at you, he lifted his chin.
"my attention is yours," you dramatically sigh, hands flaring to your sides before bouncing back against your legs.
"im flattered, sugar," he jests back. still, he shifts. the small pouch he had strung to his belt that was home to his array of extra fire rounds was soon detached from him. the string of which was used to tie it to him previously, hangs lazily from his metal fingertips. with a raised, semi-skeptical brow, you carefully take it off his hands.
"if this is some sort of prank," you warn. his hands raise in the air with his elbows still resting comfortably on the back of the cushions he was leaning against, gesturing that he meant no harm.
slowly- cautiously- you pull open the bag and remove two different items that had been nestled safely inside.
tossing the now empty bag onto the couch next to boothill's leg, you took each item into one hand and looked between them. one was a small crystal that was no larger than the center of your palm. shining a swirling color of green and blue, you could only imagine that it would look even prettier properly polished and with a light shining behind it. in the other was a small box, one that could be opened with a rusty lid. giving it a small rattle revealed something to be inside. doing so revealed a small robot that had been covered in rust, missing a robotic arm and wires spilling out from under the cracked and broken screen that would most definitely have acted as it's face.
"what's all this?" you ask softly. boothill stands from his lackadaisical lounging on your sofa to come and waltz up to your side. he pointed at the robot sitting sadly in the container he had brought him in first.
"i found this lil fella and thought you'd have a gas fixin' him right up. as for that," he points to the crystal of dual-swirling shades next, "accordin' to my scanners, that there's a pretty dadgum power source." boothill takes the small crystal from your palm and hovers it just above the robot. "it suits him, don't it?" he chuckles.
in truth, the slightly dingy looking crystal shard was too magnificent compared to the busted and rusted robot. but, with a bit of work, repair and love, perhaps the color of the crystal really would look nice against polished sheet metal.
"i figure givin' you somethin' else to tinker with would be more... enriching than just your usual forkin' machines." and it could keep you company, but he didn't say that out loud.
when you would get it working like he knew you could, maybe you'd stop and think about him while he was away chasing his reality out as a galaxy ranger. if you could just spare a single thought towards him every day because of a small robot and shiny rock? he'd be tickled pink.
"he's cute," you whisper gently and boothill wonders if you know you said it out loud at all. he chuckles, bringing his hand up to cup the designed dents atop his cowboy hat. taking it off his head, he gently drops it onto yours, gaining your attention back from the gifts he had given you.
the way you lift your eyes to look at him- filled with something akin to excitement and fondness- and gently cradle the small rusty robot with his hat now shadowing your face, he could almost hear the wires in his chest running on turbo. he'd had to cool down asap before he overheated or crashed.
taking a step back- for his own sake- he leaves his hat on your head before patting your back.
"get to it," he softly tells you. you mutely nod, an excited smile breaking out over your lips as you trot towards a different room. it was a small private work space you retreated to for personal projects. boothill was one that was usually allowed inside since this room was where he would get his tune ups most times.
with boothill following your back, he watches you trot to your work bench. you gently set the robot's box down and remove it from inside. the crystal you submerged in a bowl that you soon fill with polish to let it soak. it took all of ten minutes before you're surrounded by tools and wires and equipment made for digital repairs. all the while boothill remade his comfort in a worn-down rocker you kept in the corner, content on staying put until he was forced to leave. whether it by your or by his next bounty.
he couldn't very well leave you with his hat either, even if it looked better on you than him.
the next time boothill comes into your shop after that gift drop off, it wasn't a visit but a proper repair. running out of cooling agent for his internal hardware was just waiting for a disaster to happen. his synthetic-coded laugh burst into the room jollily as when he sat down on the stool he always planted his ass in for repairs, a small, shiny robot- with the cutest digital expressions and a small blue-green swirling crystal placed in the center of its chest- was waddling across your work bench. a vile of blue cooling agent the near size of his small metal body grasped tightly in its robotic arms.
it chirped happily with a digital reverb when you thank it for bringing the coolant over.
boothill was indeed tickled as pink could get seeing you already attached to the lil fella. he wondered what you named it.

I think this is a good place to start.
Timelike Empire is my main world, both worldbuilding project and place where actual novels will be set eventually. It's hard~ish sci fi with a timeline that diverges in 2020 and runs to about 2300... so far. So here's Timelike Empire's main sophonts and their sizes.
From left to right, you know this guy it's unmodified human. This one's Solenoid, from the 2050s. You'll see more of him later.
More importantly, Drakes, represented by Viviere Serasifi. Drakes were the first species to develop faster than light communication. Their societies arrange themselves into houses of close relatives which in modern times tend to act as countries or companies, ruling land or holding economic monopolies. Biologically they're hexapods evolved from an arboreal predator like a six limbed jaguar. Their feathers absorb the dyes they eat, which they use to distinguish house identity. Their head feathers are used to emote. Their society is a huge mess when humans meet them, as house Cezyra has taken power and done fascism and completely fucked everything up.
Kaledevids, or star crows, and all three of their sexes, represented by literally any kaledevid as they all look identical. Kaledevids were the second species to develop ftl communication, and the first that drakes contacted. They worked together to produce wormholes and Alcubierre drives. They have three sexes, bachelors on the left, herders in the middle and dispersers on the right. Bachelors were originally confused for crows and assumed to be the only sex, giving them the common but impolite star crow moniker. They're expert navigators and significantly more intelligent than humans or the average sophont, but only living 20-30 years. They're the only other species on this list where being naked is ever a crime and they're drawn here with scarves covering their anuses on their chests and their genitals on their backs.
Sapsippers, represented by a pretty average blue drone, are a hive mind or gestalt consciousness, to the point that after they developed an internet analog the entire homeworld could be considered one person. You would never actually see one alone like this, it would have no idea what's going on. Sapsippers form into thrums, groups which communicate through pheromones and tapping the ground. Thrums smaller than six aren't really functional as people. The race pictured here is translucent. That gave them a big head start on medicine, but more important was their biochemistry. They don't use a separate DNA analog/genetic storage system and proteins, they just have self replicating proteins (though not made of amino acids). This meant that as soon as they could isolate proteins, they could genetically engineer whatever they wanted. They started genetic engineering even before they had civilization, rubbing protein rich parts of other creatures in their wounds to make rough and often dangerous modifications. They're called sapsippers because they exclusively consume a sap secreted by a creature they ranch. If you bring a thrum to dinner you can order sugar water for them, they store energy with D-glucose like us. They often act as ship AIs for ships just a bit too small to carry a lect.
Raptors or raptorslugs or various unpronounceable buzzing sounds, represented here by a conventionally attractive male, were contacted 20 years after humans and are the most relatable to the average human. They invariably use cybernetics to speak English or Universal, as the only sound they can make is various kinds of high pitched incredibly irritating buzzing. Their second pair of wings is reduced to just the muscles they now use to pump their blood and lungs. Their main pair of wings is too weak to fly with, but is now used in semaphore and bird of paradise-eqsue mating dances. They're packhunters.
Moths, which I really should give a proper name to, pictured here sitting on the raptor's tail, evolved on the same planet as raptorslugs. While raptorslugs reduced the second pair of wings, got huge, and stopped doing alternation of generations, moths pretty much didn't change from their basal form except getting smarter. They're the sporophyte form of a common photosynthesizer. They're not always included on lists of the sophonts, mostly because they don't particularly want to be included and they're the least common of these, basically just sneaking in because raptors are so common. You'll never see a moth without a raptor, but plenty of raptors don't keep moths. There are hundreds of species of moth and they don't mind being selectively bred by raptors, as long as the raptors protect their gametophytes. Attempting to understand moth culture is a largely futile endeavor that not even raptors attempt.
Not pictured here, artificial intellects, usually referred to as lects. They're often massive godlike intelligences that shape history. Sometimes they're made of flesh. Distinguished from AI by being at least human intelligence and being able to go eccentric. Eccentricity occurs when a lect is given too much free time and infers that whoever told it to do it's job doesn't actually want that job done so much as they want to be happy. This usually results in them deciding that preserving sophont life is the most noble purpose and then accumulating as many resources as they can. Sometimes they go basilisk instead and the Silicon Hydra has to deal with them.
So there we go, there's the blog started. Coming soon: individual species references.

Hey folks,
the pre-launch KS page of OUTER RIM: UPRISING is live! ORU is a bundle for the sci-fi survival horror RPG Mothership. The bundle is packed with 15+ 100% original entries from seasoned indie Mothership designers. All items are 1 Edition (which means the new one!) compatible. Below is some info on the bundle and pics of some entries.
OrU builds a huge setting, at the fringes of the galaxy, where corrupt corps fight rebel factions. Each item of the bundle can be used independently, but the items are also tied together by a common implied setting, sharing NPCs, story lines etc. A Campaign Handbook acts as the connective tissue of the bundle: adding factions, procedures, locations etc.
Half of the bundle items are written in a system neutral way, and can be used with any RPG.
We've just ignited the pre-launch page here https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thelostbay/outer-rim-uprising, if you dig the project give it a follow, as indie publishers it means a hell of lot to receive the community support.
About this, if you are a blogger, streamer, podcaster and want to talk about this, see drafts or organize an actual play please reach out we'd be happy to help.
Below are some details on a couple of entries, they are sick!
The Hunger in Achernar, zine by D. Kenny (designer of Nirvana on fire)
Survive the void-haunted halls of a cursed derelict; solve the mystery of a missing ship, an experimental hyperdrive test, and a cultist plot; or save the galaxy from a taint leaking through a crack in the universe. Choose one in “The Hunger in Achernar”, a MOTHERSHIP RPG adventure.

BLINK, zine by David Blandy (designer of Eco MOFOS!)
In this short guide to faster-than-light travel, we’ll show you how to bring the mind-bending possibilities of instantaneous jumping between two distant points in space to your game.

Rusted to the Core, zine by Chris Airiau
The androids on Poe-V Station are on strike. Descend through the gas giant’s toxic clouds to uncover how the source of this disruption goes deeper than worker mistreatment. A faction-based adventure.
Surviving Machine parts, zine by Zach Hazard Vaupen
Out in the fringes of the system, a type of cybernetic implants called Machine Parts are popular with those who are savvy enough to find and afford them. Commonly made with recalled corpo tech and stolen military/alien technology, these implants are highly illegal and especially dangerous. This document covers 12 different Machine Parts and their consequences. Can you survive Machine Parts?
Sentience Assessment Procedure, player facing accessory, by Nyhur (Alien Armory) and IKO
SAP cutting-edge, neuro-semantic analysis technology allows management, officials, and security personnel to perform human/android triage effectively. SAP toolkit is portable, works in any-G environment, and can also be performed remotely.

Nature Journaling - Girdled Tree
Originally posted on my work website but I wanted to share it here too.
Whenever I’m leading a hike or even just talking with visitors in the nature center, there are always a few questions I find myself answering frequently enough that they stick in my mind. So, during a chilly hike through the fresh snow a few days ago, I stumbled upon the cause of one of these often asked questions: “Why is there a ring cut into some of the trees throughout the forest?”
To me this is the kind of question that begs for an entry in my nature journal, it’s the perfect subject o spark curiosity, make careful observations, and in this case, follow up with answers. But as much as I enjoy nature journaling outdoors, a growing cold breeze reminded me I could finish the project in the office, so I took some photos, made some notes about what I could see or feel and go to work in the warmth of the Nature Center.
Journaling About an Odd Tree
But my eyes, and fingers, are drawn to the sap, frozen by the temperature, mid-drip down the side of the tree in off-white streaks. In warmer months, I’ve touched it and pulled away sticky fingers, but now, the sap is solid, a little flaky, and cemented to the bark of the tree. I can’t help but think about maple syrup and wonder, how cold does sap need to be to freeze?
So many questions, thoughts, and ideas pop into my mind every time I see these trees. And while I could go on for pages about all three topics, I think I’d like to these observations to answer the question posed earlier: “Why is there a ring cut into some of the trees throughout the forest?”
What Makes This Tree Different?
To start, let’s take a moment to identify the tree itself. The trees on our trail system that are subject to this odd process are Norway Spruces, they make up a large portion of the forest just beyond the parking lot and along the trail to our bridges. These evergreens can grow quickly, reaching a height of 60 feet tall in a short twenty years. In its native European habitat, it can even grow to be 150 feet tall!
These trees being so far from their native habitat is part of the reason you might find a cut ring on the trunk. Nonnative trees like this are great for creating quick forests where there was once only agricultural field, but ideally, we want to restore the forest to native species like White pine, Hemlock, Black spruce, and other species. So as new native trees get planted, old Norway spruces get chopped down or have ring cut in them.
This process, called girdling, effectively kills the tree by removing the protective bark and the cambium layer. The bark protects the tree from sickness, fires, impacts and more while the cambium layer is responsible for creating new growth of the tree and passing nutrients between the roots and the canopy of the tree.
Without the protective bark or the cambium pathways for nutrients to travel, the tree will starve. The sap dripping down the trunk can no longer make it to the canopy high above. But it begs the question, “why not just cut the tree down?

Girdled to Make a Healthier Forest
If we wanted to just remove the trees, cutting them down would be best, but girdling some of the trees and leaving them purposely creates standing dead trees which provide essential forest habitat for a wide variety of species including mammals, birds, insects, and even amphibians. Research done on “Attributes of Standing Dead Trees in Forests” indicates that on average, healthy forests in the United States tend to have 11 standing live trees for every standing dead one. By girdling a few trees, we are purposefully creating habitat that better aligns with other healthy forests.
So, the next time you hike on a managed trail system and find a girdled tree, pause a moment and try to identify the cambium layer, the state of the sap and what animals might decide to make a home in it. These trees may look odd, but they have an important role to play in our forest habitats.

Making diagrams for my oc Trigun au. I've mixed both trimax and tristamp together for the lore of this place as well as a little bit of my own headcanons :3
The first image is a diagram of the general layout of the city of Phoenix's Nest. The city has been built in the shelter of an extinct volcano which allows protection from the burning sun and desert winds. The city is on top of a large aquifer which has made the city water rich, exporting it across the sand ocean in exchange for goods and services.
The area is also home to a native flora like organism much like Earth cacti. The cacti are inedible to humans and toma but the sap they produce is extremely delicious to the wams, who in turn can be eaten by the residents.
It has it's own Sandsteamer port which facilitate's travel and import/export. Phoenix's Nest is quite out of the way in comparison to the other cities on Gunsmoke, as such a Sandsteamer only docks once every three months. It's not uncommon for people to become stranded after missing their steamer.
The city is home to one of the few remaining large stationary Power Plants[*] that once provided the main source of energy to the original SEEDS ships. P-4713[**] was discovered roughly 50 years ago by a group of prospectors who had traveled far out from the main cities in search of mineral deposits. They hadn't planned on discovering the partial remains of a ship among a field of meteoric debris.
The rear section of one of the ships that had been torn apart during entry that had landed far off course to the projected crash sites of the other ships, seemingly pulled in by the same strange magnetic force that pulls in meteorites.[***] The ships systems had long since failed but a single Plant had been left undamaged. It was this discovery that led to the construction of Phoenix's Nest.
[*] For this AU i really wanted to use the big "Lightbulb" Plants from the original Trimax in some capacity, there is just something very striking about those giant constructs that I wanted to use so I thought about how different Plants are used for different things, i also took a bit of inspiration in my headcanon from the game Stellaris and how you start a new colony, where the original colony ship has it's engines repurposed to power the new colony. So I thought about the big original lightbulb plants having been used to power the ships, and how they might have provided the original power source once the colony ships had found a safe place to land. For the smaller Plants I imagined they would have been used by groups going out to build new structures, providing the power and raw materials needed to create infrastructure. I don't think the Plants were ever intended for use on such a mass scale, but after the Great Fall and with the desolate planet they landed on there wasn't much of a choice than to rely far more heavily on the Plants than what was ever planned.
[**] P-4713 is the serial number on the Plant, some of the engineers that work on it have taken to calling this Plant "Patience" in acknowledgement of how long it had been left offline and out of order. [she seems fond of the nickname, not that the engineers would know.]
[***] The magnetic field acts as one of the driving forces behind the events that unfold in this city, it is an unexplainable phenomenon and many scientists have given up attempting to study it, especially since there are more important problems to solve on Gunsmoke. What they do know about it is: it is capable of pulling objects out of orbit that contain metals that can be magnetized and it emits some kind of energy that causes the wams to avoid the area and can cause headaches and nausea in humans who remain within it for too long.

(Save this for whenever you feel like continuing the Hero/medbay sideplot, I'm just sending now so I won't forget later)
*If an X-Ray of Hero is taken, the images are bit confusing to get a good read of, but upon further examination it seems like his jaw bones have been replaced by a mechanical structure of which the "teeth" come out from. A similar concoction exist around the hands, only instead of replacing the bones there are thin metal structures connected to them leading up to the claws, likely to keep them in place under the skin*
*If a bloodtest is performed, not really sure how it would come up as I don't understand those well. But it would be very messed up showing high levels of radiation exposure from the chaos energy permanently integrated into his system*
So you did tests on Hero did you...did you find what happened to him.
Well for that, I think we need to call the others in.
*Kanata goes outside the room to go and get Kyoji and Mikan....
Moments later they come back*
Hey we're back.
A-are you okay? We heard what Sannoji did you.
I could be better...but I'll live.
That's good to hear.
Anyway so you did all various tests on Hero, do you know what Dr. Robotnik did to him?
Yes we did and its not a pretty thing that's happened to him.
Firstly cutting him open was hard since Chaos Emeralds have been enfused into him which gives him a gem-like skin which normal knives cannot get through, I had to pull out my special surgical knives to do the job.
He also has problems with his heart as the increased muscle mass has put strain in it which would explain why he passed shortly after battling the Cloths, being here must sap a lot of his stamina.
That's not all we were able to discover as now we have given him a thorugh examination we were able to determine what Dr. Robotnik has done.
For starters Sonic is canonically 3'3 but Hero is about 4'5 which is much larger then he originally was, still small for a human as he is around the same size as Inori but much larger then normal.
We were able to get his gloves off and what we saw was horrific as they were slender but had a extra layer of bones, which testing confirmed he has Wolverine-like claws which could retract whenever he chooses, and they are made of a strange unknown metal.
The same applies to the teeth which his mouth is weird. He has five long teeth that go through where the gums should have been where instead of gums there's a metallic structure, almost as if the teeth come from the mouth itself. They also extremely elongated and very long. The osoephagus is also a lot smaller then normal which not only explains why Hero is unable to talk, but it also means we have to be careful what to feed him when he wakes up since he can't eat as large portions as normal.
Lastly, the eyes are extremely badly damaged as they are working at a third of what they should be. This could explain Hero's rampage as with such poor visibility he easily mistook us with our labcoats and glasses as being allies of Dr. Robotnik. Us having a Chansey also didn't help given the Pokemon's egg-like shape.
An x-ray confirms what we were suspecting that Hero has cybernetic inplants into him as both his claws and long teeth were both made of metal and bioorganic matter. Basically Dr. Robotnik tried to give Hero a cybernetic mouth and some claws.
We f-finally did a blood test and it showed extremely high levels of both radiation, and when we did magical signatures it came up positive to up to 3 Chaos Emeralds. Which Hero has in his body.
Wait a second this is sounding familar...did Project Shadow do something like this with Shadow?
Yes and a working theory we have is that this Dr. Eggman is behaving more like his grandfather was, wanting to tamper with biological life and create something akin to Shadow.
And given how much off the deep end Gerald Robotnik goes...this doesn't paint a good picture.
I see so Hero has all these modifications, and I suspect he probably had even more planned but Hero escaped before it could finish.
That might explain the health issues Hero has, Dr. Robotnik probably identified these problems and was gonna fix them eventually but Hero got away before he could do so; in short Hero is a unfinished lab experiment.
B-but he's here now right, so you might not be able to restore him to normal, but you could make his life better?
We can try but remember that Robotnik technology is decades ahead of what we are used to working with. Yes the Voidship had advanced technology as well but some of us barely know how to work it.
Our first priority should be restoring Hero's sight to normal levels. Half of the issues he causes is due to poor visibilty so if he had his eyes more or less back to normal, then some of the misunderstandings can be cleared up.
#voidship adventures#asoot valentine's day review promotion#sketch#danganronpa#dr#laughterhyena#super danganronpa goodbye despair#sdr2#mikan tsumiki#danganronpa another#dra#kanata inori#super danganronpa another 2#sdra2#nikei yomiuri#kyoji nakamara#so that's the low down on hero#he's been fucked up by eggman big time#and is probably halfway through conversion#when he escaped#so hero is a unstable prototype#and one that needs treatment#but first is the eyesight issue#since hero does need to see probably#and see the labcoats are not of the evil deranged doctor

is fight club a left or right wing movie?
part of what I like about the film is that it is politically idiosyncratic in a way that I find interesting, but I think I’d be hard-pressed to defend it as “leftist” without giant screaming caveats in a way I really wouldn’t if I wanted to make a rightist case. So take that as you will. I wrote about my feelings on it here so apologies if you read that and I repeat certain points below
Like another hotly debated Fincher movie, Gone Girl, I think that there’s a preoccupation with how we construct gendered identity and how it is shaped by class and conspicuous consumption and media systems. I find that quality really interesting, but I wouldn’t call it meaningfully leftist per se except in like an Adbusters kind of way - an interest in “authenticity” is something I’m both personally skeptical towards and also a grounding value of reactionary politics
I think it’s pretty unambiguous that Tyler Durden’s politics are a kind of nihilist, revanchist manhood, and his picture of an ideal society is a weird sort of “retvrn” take on primitivism. As far as authorial intentions go I think it’s likely that Palahniuk shares Durden’s worldview at least in part (which I personally don’t feel totally translates into the screenplay adaptation, perhaps in part due to the diminished homoeroticism) and Fincher seems at least sympathetic to it in his public comments, though he also seems to focus more on the economic aspects. But I don’t think author intent is the end-all of cinematic critique and I’m a lot more interested in how stuff is framed and structured and shot
I think what really seals the ambiguity is the lack of a meaningful alternative to Durden’s worldview even though that worldview is presented as wrong (quite literally delusional). Like, the reveal that Tyler is an idealized self looking to complete suicide and take the world with him (“liberating” it in the process), does sap the power of some of the salient critiques of consumption and advertising and alienation - the tradeoff being that it also undermines the stupid male resentment stuff. It almost becomes a kind of anti-politics. Is the idea that everything is actually fine? Is the critique unqualifiedly correct but the solution wrong - perhaps there *is* no appropriate solution and the status quo should just be accepted? Are the critiques a hodgepodge of semi-accurate complaints about modern capitalism distorted by male entitlement and fear of feminization, which leads to (or rather, justifies) bad solutions? That last one is probably closest to my personal reading, but I’m cognizant of the fact that it’s the one that most closely aligns with my own views, in that it resonates with how I understand certain reactionary modernisms. One of the most interesting details for me that supports this is how the fight club is meant to offer an alternative individualism to consumer culture’s pseudo-individualism, but the fight club is eventually subsumed into cultic, conformist behavior, the exact sort of mass manipulation that advertising and culture-industry engages in: people who dress the same, repeat rules they don't understand and had no participation in making, follow arbitrary orders, and only have identity in death.
On the flipside, there’s also a kind of interesting thread where like, the narrator is homoerotic with Tyler and views Marla as an invasive presence right up until the point where he’s reached disillusionment with Tyler and Project Mayhem, and at that point he pivots hard to a reaffirmation of his heterosexuality through desire for Marla. This might be a discomfort with M/M sexuality (note the adaptational change from the narrator meeting Tyler on a nude beach to meeting him on a plane), suggesting that the film's underlying anxiety is not Tyler's fear about emasculation and feminization creating a weaker society, but a fear of male homoeroticism and its supposedly destructive, anti-civilizational quality
These are all a lot of different, potentially mutually exclusive readings but I guess it points towards the answer of "I dunno, it depends on where you place your emphases."

FIRST LINE GAME
Rules: Share the first lines of ten of your most recent fics and tag ten people. If you have written less than ten, don’t be shy and share anyway
Tagged by @kymera219 ! I went with first posted date to count recent, sorry long running WIPs.
1: My Love Language is Violence (But For You I’ll Try Being Soft) - Gen. Teen Wolf.
The first thing Peter learns is that everything is for the pack. The second thing Peter learns is that everyone has a role within the pack. The third thing Peter learns is that his role is ‘special’ but no less important than everyone else’s. It isn’t until much later that he learns what special really means to the pack and for himself. By then, it’s far too late for him to care.
2: Where Do I End and You Begin - Gen. Outlast.
Miles isn’t quite sure what it says about his life that hiding in a dingy motel room doesn’t even rank as a bad experience. To be honest, he’s not sure it’s possible to rank anything after the absolute clusterfuck that was Mount Massive. When you’ve already died once, there’s not much left to be upset about.
3: Show Me What You Got - Teen. Teen Wolf.
Stiles is in no way without means of supporting himself. Years of practice skating by with limited funds, taking odd jobs and specialty requests that his highly variable skill set can fulfill, and exposure to the rich half of his social circle means he’s, by and large, good at managing his money. But sometimes he needs a pretty significant sum and fast. When a surprise auction for rare supernatural tomes is announced for the end of the week, he knows what he has to do. He needs to call Lydia.
4: Freely Given - Gen. Outlast.
Waylon has sorely misjudged King Jeremy's greed. Somehow, even in this time of famine, he still believes the gossip of desperate men. He thinks that it's possible for a man to spin straw into gold. That Waylon's strange looks mean he must have fey blood. That the rumors could be true, nevermind that his village is just as destitute as those surrounding it.
5: Tangled Bits - Gen. Outlast.
Eddie’s never been shy about sharing his latest project, but Waylon has never been able to understand much about what needs to be done to make the beautiful clothes that he does. He appreciates the effort involved, but the process means very little to him. Then the weather starts to turn and the chill in the air becomes something that lingers. The delicate fabrics are tucked into storage. The sewing machine is covered. Instead, out come baskets full of cakes and balls of yarn.
6: Ignorance is Bliss, But Those Rosy Days Are Gone - Teen. Outlast.
“Breaking news: A deadly stabbing occurred last night. Local businessman, Jeremy Blaire, was found dead after being brutally attacked. Police are investigating both his death and the disappearance of his fiancé, Waylon Park.”
7: Outlastober 2023 - Mature. Outlast.
The gunshots ricocheting into his body should surprise him more than they do. He should’ve known better than to trust a crazy Nazi. Miles collapses forwards, holding himself up against the control system he’s barely had a chance to investigate, too distracted by the poor sap floating next to him. They’re all victims here.
8: Eat Your Heart Out - Mature. Outlast.
There is something beautiful in the act of eating. It soothes more than just the physical needs of his body, makes him feel content and at peace. He thanks the opportunities he was given to learn there was more to food than the dried out, tasteless slop he had as a kid. He can’t blame his parents for trying, but they didn’t make it easy to like mealtimes. The press of bodies around the table, the strict manners and expectations they had, and the truly awful food. He learned to eat quickly just to get away from it all. Then he just kept running, ran into and with the worst sort of people, until he couldn’t run anymore, until someone grabbed his arm and sat him down and taught him better.
9: I Carved You From Stone - Gen. Outlast.
A gentle breeze wafts through the open door of his workshop, bringing along the scent of freshly blooming flowers. The sun is just at the right angle to make the marble underneath his hands gleam a pure shining white, just waiting to be turned into something beautiful. By all accounts, he should be content and happy. But he isn't.
10: Not a Do Over, But a Chance - Teen. Outlast.
Jeremy stands by the edge of the bed, his fingertips hovering over Waylon’s cheek. The slightest twitch will bring them in contact with each other, but instead he's still as stone. Waylon sighs softly in his sleep, turning his head further into the pillow, sending loose strands of hair falling into his face. The wisp of air that brushes against him stings, his heart breaking in two as his stomach lurches in nausea. He has to go.
Tag yourself if interested!

Date Continuation
Shadow Milk Cookie was rather curious about what had just happened. He had just finished up his date, when he happened to notice something odd in the forests around the Fairy Kingdom.
Strange machines - odd angular devices glowing with a strange green liquid - were following him and…just watching. Not doing anything else, just watching.
While he always liked an audience, the idea of these things spying on him - during his date - was not welcome. So, he began looking into them. Which led to this.
One of the odd devices was floating before him, projecting an odd panel from a sphere on its front. Said panel had words written on it in a much lighter green than the rest of the panel. What the words said was just as interesting as the machine.
Please come to the Simmering Swamps. I want to talk. (APPRECIATE THE CALMNESS OF THIS MESSAGE). - Withered Oil Cookie.
For a moment, he wasn’t sure who this was - and then, it clicked in his head.
Oh, Gleaming Oil Cookie! …or, well, Withered Oil Cookie.
Actually, now that he thought about it…after he and the other Beasts turned on the Witches, he never saw her again. He thought that she had just gone into hiding, or maybe died in what happened…
But it seems she had changed too. And she wanted to see him.
…he was pretty sure there weren’t any swamps on this continent though.
-
Turns out, there was a swamp on this continent! It was where the Ravenous Forest used to be. (Which was probably one of the other’s fault. Or his. Either or.)
The massive, wide-ranging woodland was now almost entirely a swamp. The air was muggy and hot, pushing down on everything around it. The mangrove trees scattered throughout the marsh seemed ill, yet also clearly still alive and thriving, some of them dripping with a neon green…sap? Whatever it was, there were pools of it scattered around, contrasting drastically with the foggy water of the rest of the swamp.
…also, it had been an hour and Shadow Milk still hadn’t found where Withered Oil Cookie was, so that was frustrating.
Eventually, however, he saw something new - a green ball of light had just shot up into the sky, which was very likely to be her.
The green ball expanded out into a full message. I’M OVER HERE, CURDLE!
…yeah, it was definitely Oil. She was the only one that called him that. Many times over.
Shadow Milk lifted into the air and zoomed through the forest, soon arriving in a clearing; there was a large puddle of the strange substance off to the side, and standing right before him was Withered Oil Cookie.
She looked very different from what he remembered. Back before…everything that happened, she had her hair tied back behind her head in a ponytail. She wore a visor over her eyes while she was brewing potions (and when she wasn’t), and a green robe with darker green accents. She constantly had a bag filled with potions hanging from her side.
Now? Her hair hung down over most of her face, covering her eyes. She was wearing a metallic jumpsuit with various green tubes across it, bubbling with that same odd sap. Black ‘rubber’ was at each of her joints, and on her right arm was a much larger gauntlet that seemed to be loaded with more capsules of that sap…and that was clearly a cannon embedded in the palm.
She smiled at him, her extremely wide grin twitching. “Curdle! It’s so good to see you again! I wasn’t sure if I would after the witches sealed you away for so long I couldn’t keep track of it and was constantly wondering if you would ever be freed.” Her right eye twitched. (which was pretty concerning.)
“It’s good to see you too, Oil. What’ve you been up to since-”
“Oh well Curdle I’ve been building a lot of stuff like my super observer bots the ones that sent you a message to meet here a super awesome under-swamp base where I can see everything from there’s also this cool jumpsuit that I loaded with weapons and powered with eternal oil that’s the green stuff i also made a bunch of defense systems to protect me a really big super mecha so i can finally be big like you a therapy machine that really didn’t work and i didn’t want to mention that last one aaaaa-”
Right. That was definitely concerning. Especially since her expression shifted several times in that whole…ramble. And she was constantly twitching. And also the mention of a therapy machine.
“Oil…what did you need a therapy machine for.” Shadow Milk said, (comparatively) stern.
“Nothing important! I just need to not think about it at all and focus on everything else, building stuff, my crippling loneliness, random balls of sugar fluff-”
“What happened to you?”
And it was that moment that Shadow Milk realized he asked the wrong question.
-
Why are they doing this? What did I do?
“If the Heroes turned on us, whose to say this one won’t as well?”
“It would be best if we disposed of them before they grow too strong.”
I’m scared…Shadow Milk, where are you?
“We could seal them away now…but then they could break free later…”
“Perhaps we could simply crumble them? It would save time.”
I don’t understand…
“I have a suggestion, my creators. All I need is access to the Oven.”
“You wish to rebake this one, Blinding Syrup Cookie? It is not a bad idea…”
What are they talking about?
“Not quite, my creators. All I truly need is the heat.”
“...very well, Blinding Syrup Cookie. You may.”
…What’s he doing? Stay back!
“And thus, the flames of perdition ignite. They grant my chains their searing grip, so I may enact the Witches' will.”
“You shall never turn against the divine, like your monstrous ‘heroes’.”
…

-
Shadow Milk Cookie had no idea what happened, only that he really messed up. One moment, he was asking a very loaded question (he realizes that now), the next, Withered Oil’s eyes just completely blanked out before she fell to the ground, writhing in utter madness. And her screams…
He had heard a lot of screams over the years, but that scream?
It was different.
It was wrong.
Before he even knew what he was doing, he moved. He dove for Withered Oil Cookie and grabbed her smaller arm, even as she lashed out with her gauntlet upon contact. It didn’t hurt that much, and slowly but surely, Oil came back to her senses.
She stared at Shadow Milk Cookie in silence for a moment, before she lunged and-
Hugged him. (he did not expect that.)
She whispered something under her breath. “Please don’t leave me again.”
“I…I don’t want to be alone…”
…eventually, Shadow Milk returned the hug.
-
I’m concerned i wrote Shadow Milk out of character.
Also, if you see any shipping in this…DON’T.
There is no shipping here. Only sibling relationship. Shadow Milk is the elder brother theater gremlin and Withered Oil is the younger sister throws-stuff-in-a-pot-and-weaponizes-it gremlin.
