The next Walpurgis is most likely the Safety Team with Netzach as the next Announcer; and the next LobCorp IDs might connect to Abnormalities of denial, blissful ignorance, or the constricting force of family (Queen of Hatred, Queen Bee, Void Dream).

Even if the Sinners adjust to the fact that one of their members is a Second Kindred Bloodfiend, everyone keeps eyeing Outis just in case she tries to kill Don mentally or physically. She's still salty about the "betrayal" of having a definite threat in their ranks and were possibly waiting to backstab them at any moment (...Did something happen with Eurylochus, Outis?).

And even if she's also adjusting to a modernish life without the fanatic belief in Fixers, Don Sancho Quixote the Second reads them the riot act on their multiple attempts to prove she's a "real vampire" and committing elder abuse: shining light in her eyes or putting her in direct sunlight, putting garlic in her food, Dead Butterfly's coffin and Hundred Sins cross mace in her face cause Christian symbol or possible vamp bed, chasing her with a water bottle or spray bottle, so much water, so much water...

What if...?

After finishing my bucket list, I wait for Maia in the bedroom. The sooner I approach her about having another child... the better. When she finally enters the room, I take her hands into mine and give them a gentle squeeze.

Wade: I was thinking and wondering... what do you think about us having another baby?

Maia: What? Another-

Maia pauses as if she can't bring herself to finish the sentence. I finish it for her, hoping to ease the idea into her mind.

Wade: Baby.... a brother or sister for Tambara.

Maia drops my hands and stares at me. I can understand her hesitation. We didn't exactly plan Tambara, but maybe it would be nice to experience what it's like to try for a baby.... on purpose this time.

After about thirty seconds, Maia finally responds:

In the last official Banks Dynasty scene (links to a Tumblr post), Wade (aka Dub) adds, 'I'd like to have another child' to his bucket list. But Maia is struggling with the balance of caring for their daughter Tambara and her aging father while trying to find time to open a food stand.  

I'm not ready to add this extra stress to her life, but if Dub brought up having another child, what do you think she would say?

I'm not done writing for today, but I think this marks well the end of a massive challenge, and quite the accomplishment.

Ao3 Stats:

2023 (when I came back to writing after 10 years of just not): 455,310

2024: 470,780 (this doesn't include the last 2-3k of words in the chapters I need to tie off and edit for Mythological Christmas, but still.)

I had a harsher than expected 6-7 months this year and I can't believe I still wrote so much. Though, without the 100k challenge in December I would not have written more at all, so that makes sense then.

Whew.

Just... Whew.

I've still got like 11 more chapters for this Hallmark AU title at the LEAST XD
