A few headcanons~

- Nekos are naturally born with their ears and tail visible on their human form. Most of their magic, besides to fully shift, is used to conceal them away in less empowered environments—If they choose to keep them hidden away so often, that is.

- Michael works as one of the head Engineers for ETS. He was the lead designer in Asset’s creation for Project Meridian.

- He is “Angel”’s (David’s Listener) ex boyfriend. They were only together about a year and a half, but inevitably broke up because Michael had been called away for work so much the two drifted apart and just felt like they had become strangers to each other again. Despite that though, they are on neutral terms.

- Has a lot of fidget toys, always needs his hands to be doing something. Uses yarn like a stress ball.

- His cat form is a Calico :)

- His ears and tail are, in fact, sensitive. Proceed with caution.

- He’s a very light sleeper, but can also fall asleep just about anywhere if given the opportunity.

- Michael and Brian have known each other since college. The two spend a lot of late work nights just talking about their stress and worries.

So, I really don't care if people headcanon Hobie as an adult. That's really none of my business, and I've probably already filtered out your stuff if you portray Hobie as 20+, not because it's wrong but because I don't feel like looking at it. It's just not my cup of tea, and that's fine. My internet experience is one I've curated specially for my desires.

But in my works, in my art and fics, I portray Hobie as 16. And I'd appreciate it if people would stop insisting that when I'm talking about Hobie, I'm talking about adult!Hobie. I'm not. To me, Hobie is a teenager. I don't care what the writers' ideas were in preproduction. I don't care what wacky math you've used to determine that he's whatever age you think he is. I don't care that you think he looks like he's 21, or that you Googled the legal drinking age in Britain and did not ask anyone who actually lives in England. I don't care about your purity culture bullshit and I certainly don't care that me headcanoning Hobie as a teenager makes you uncomfortable because now you feel like you can't sexualize him guilt-free in your head and that makes you angry.

In my works, Hobie is 16, going on 17. He's a foul-mouthed teenager, who is disillusioned with society because he's young and black and gay and poor and he regularly breaks the law in a multitude of ways because that's what teenagers and anarchists do. So please, when interacting with my work, understand that I'm portraying Hobie as such.
