The Trevor Project needs help holding upper management accountable for sudden devastating layoffs, and silencing those attempting to speak up about it!

The Trevor Project is a US-based nonprofit organization that provides support for struggling queer youth, providing 24/7 phone and text lines as well as other resources and community for many queer youth who are struggling to find support and a sense of stability. For those who work for this project, their jobs have meant everything to them, and the layoffs came suddenly, without the employees being able even so much as give feedback during this announcement.

"On the morning of June 14, The Trevor Project sent a meeting invite for 1:30 pm EST (2 hours before the meeting start time). The meeting was titled "988 Updates." In this brief meeting, staff at Trevor Project and staff contracted through Insight Global working for Trevor Project were informed that almost half of this 988 staff would be laid off and the last day for those folks would be July 2, 2023. Coordinators of the meeting from both Trevor Project and Insight Global turned off the chat feature and opened the Q&A, but have yet to still answer the questions asked by the staff. Leaders were stiff, emotionless, and cold while reading off of a script as if they were not destroying lives by what they were saying. 988 counselors and staff were also told not to stop taking crisis chats while this was happening, leading to our own self-crises while trying to support contacts. This was a highly unprofessional and inconsiderate meeting with life-changing news."

This has been utterly devastating for both the project, and those who are losing their jobs. Those affected were given a two week notice. As this is a primarily queer organization, many of those affected by these lay-offs face discrimination in their careers and have struggled to find jobs outside of queer affirming organizations.

As of writing this post, this petition only needs 255 signatures to pass, please sign if you agree that those in charge need to be held accountable and provide answers and solutions for the problems and damage that has been caused. The Trevor Project has officially launched its 2025 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ+ Young People. They're gathering critical data on the mental health and well-being of American LGBTQ+ young people ages 13–24.

This survey helps amplify the experiences of LGBTQ+ young people and informs the life-saving resources, advocacy, and education that support them nationwide in the United States.

It has three questions for intersex-identified LGBTQ+ youth!

Casual reminder that The Trevor Project supported KOSA; so yes, while their bottom line is helpful to trans youth (& unfortunately only anyone under a certain age), their top execs were supporting bills like KOSA not but a few months ago so be weary of that organization. Donate directly to trans people instead if you can or to Friends of Trevor and other more honest & reputable organizations. Though preferably directly to trans people in need.

Not many of you know but I came out to my friends (but not my family) as bisexual/Demisexual (I'm still figuring out if I'm bi or demi it's a long process for me) this year during pride.

I have met some amazing people in the 911 community who have helped me to see who I truly am, and with their support I'm okay with being me. I was scared to come out much like Buck was to Maddie and Eddie. Unlike him, I can not come out to my parents because them along with my family will disown me and I need to protect myself at all costs.

Maybe when I am not living under their roof anymore (yes I am aware I'm 35 and still live at home, but living as a single person on a single person income in NY is insane 2500 for a studio apartment--who has that kind of money??)

As a baby bi/demi I feel seen in the 911 community as someone who is on the older side coming out. It is not easy and for me I thought my friends would not want to be my friends anymore. I got all inside my head.

While it's not much I did donate $5.00 to the Trevor Project. (This time of year is hard for me money wise but I thought even with $5.00 it would help somewhat.)

2024 brought us the return of LouFerrignoJr as #TommyKinard on The911onABC as a new Love interest for #EvanBuckBuckley.

This pairing was a pleasant surprise & the public response was beautiful! When a couple comes along, you know it's meant to be when they just make you smile. And for Buck to come out as Bi has inspired many to also be true to themselves.

Mr. LFJ has been a pure ray of sunshine & an amazing addition to the cast. In November, the couple parted ways, & the audience response was clear: Bring Tommy back. Seeing Buck happy was beautiful & this story elicited huge emotional responses.

Their parting left an impact because it felt sudden & very open-ended. Both characters clearly want each other. This can't be over .Let's see BuckTommy finally find their happily ever after & explore all the trials & tribulations that come with it.

As part of the AllIWantForChristmasIsLou event this Christmas Eve, donations are being made to the TrevorProject in honor of the happiness & inspiration this couple brought and brings to the LGBT community. TheTrevorProject

Hey everyone. How are we doing? If you stumbled on this post because you follow me on Tumblr, I'm guessing the answer is NOT GREAT. Me either. Hoof.

But something that makes me feel a little better is taking action, and turning bits of my skill and time to something productive, which is why I've decided to offer ongoing decorated toploader commissions to you, the fine folks of the internet. For the low (well, reasonable) price of a ten dollar or more donation to one of the listed organizations (or the vetted Palestinian fundraiser of your choice, there's too many for me to list, but you can certainly find some reblogged here and elsewhere) I will decorate a toploader holding a trading/photo card of the character/celebrity/pet/etc of your choice.

You may have seen some of my deco jobs here on my blog, but if not, here's an a few pieces of my work. (You can find more by searching my blog for "decorated toploader")

These are just a few I've done in recent months!

I currently have HUNDREDS of vintage Marvel and Sailor Moon trading cards in my possession, but if I don't have your favorite character, I am happy to make a custom card (like how I printed out Hannibal and low-poly Otacon above). I'm tagging the fandoms I know, but I'm more than willing to do whoever your favorite is. (I may just need a little context to get the vibe right.)

I will be mailing your card to you (domestic or international) in a standard envelope, this way I can use a regular stamp instead of fussing with postage/customs/etc. And you don't have to pay shipping (unless you really want to have me send it as a tracked package). I haven't had any issue with cards arriving this way thus far, especially within the US.
