Toon Time Theater presents... THE 6TH U-PICK POLL!
Hello, anime fans. This is Gabriel Ramos, the DJ and broadcaster for T3 Express and Toon Time Theater. August will be a heated up month considering how many cartoons will be joining the Saturday morning lineup now that HAIKYU!! Season 1 and THE SLAYERS TRY ended their runs. However, I've been indecisive on what to broadcast on August 10. I know (lunar) Tanabata will be happening, but I want to wrap up that Japanese holiday with something loud and strong. The possible programs and blocks for this poll are as follows:
* THE SLAYERS REVOLUTION (THE SLAYERS Season 4)
* The Tatami Galaxy
* Moriarty The Patriot
* PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA
* Overtake
* MF GHOST
* OSHI NO KO
* Heaven Official's Blessing
* Boogiepop Phantom
* E/I Block B: BARTENDER ~Glass of God~ & Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 2 (E/I)
You have until August 9 at 2 PM PDT to make your selection. When the time comes, I will end the T3 Express peepshow to review your selections before live-streaming SAILOR MOON. The cartoon (or block) with the most votes will join the Saturday Morning Animation Cram Session officially. Think of this U-PICK poll as a Tanabata tree, and think of your vote as a wish strip. Once Tanabata ends, I will cut off the poll time, and the most-voted program or block will flow away, with your wish being granted.

Something I’ve been thinking about lately, and one of the things I miss most about cartoons and kid programming in the ‘90s, is the hosts that presented them. Whether it was a show with multiple segments, or a several hour marathon of some kind, something about characters talking to you and telling you what was coming up next made your viewing experience feel like an event, something special, something that you, yourself, were involved in and participating in, and not just passively consuming.
This is something that’s been missing for a long time, and something that’s much, much harder to do in the streaming era. Sure, we can still watch Tiny Toons on DVD, and “binge watch”, as we call it these days, an entire season of our favorite shows. But there’s less of sense of interaction, however artificial it may have been, and less of a sense of the shows being specifically selected for the audience in that particular moment in time. There were also programs like Nick in the Afternoon (with its U-Pick gimmick) and JBVO, where you could actually directly influence what you watched. You do, of course, have the freedom to watch whatever you want if you subscribe to the right streaming services, but to me, it was the characters that made all the difference.
It sorta gave the illusion that these characters were alive, at least on some other plane of existence. It also has a similar appeal as old school variety shows like Ed Sullivan and Johnny Carson, or even Vaudeville and circuses.
In general, I miss the days when kid programming felt more like they were catering to us, instead of just telling us what we should like.

batfam meets the JL but it’s just the bat kids breaking into the watch tower during a debriefing or meeting to ask bruce the most mundane questions. they go about it like they’re interns that need to speak to the CEO during a board meeting. they walk over waving their hands and mouthing “i’m so sorry just need to ask batman something 😬” and then they lean over to bruce and ask something like “alfred wants to know if you’re gonna be home for dinner” and then they dip.
one of them started this when bruce didn’t answer their texts (it was probably tim or something) and now everyone does it.

Congratulations, viewers! X-MEN won U-PICK No.3 thanks to your participation... I guess.
I guess this month's U-PICK was my weakest U-PICK due to most of my current Discord servers not allowing self-promotion or advertising. Without them, how would I lure in any new viewers? If that's the case, might as well find a different strategy or something. ONLY ONE PERSON voted, and he or she wanted X-MEN, particularly, the 1992 animated series. I didn't expect X-MEN to win, but I was thinking that SONIC X would win since Sonic the Hedgehog (as the entire franchise) is more relevant and is very popular among video gamers and comic book readers. Well, I guess I will have to continue Toon Time Theater with X-MEN on the lineup all because of that one little vote. Here are my theories on why this poll was lackluster:
After finding out that DC SUPER HERO GIRLS can no longer be watched (physically or digitally), I made a last ditch effort to replace it with JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES, contributing to the lack of "modern" cartoons.
I lacked the effort in assembling this poll. I had to learn my lessons from the first poll, particularly limiting the number of choices to reduce the chances for a Judgment. I had to do whatever I can, but it didn't improve for the better.
I timed my poll at the wrong time. Toonami was bringing back DRAGON BALL Z KAI for the 2020s, and I was doing a similar thing to buy some time until the 2026 World Cup rolls along, but a long runner was already chosen before I knew it. Even worse, I got into family issues that prevented me from live-streaming Saturday mornings for (less than) half of March, starting the Emergency Occurrence Filler Arc. My audience count became worse because of my transition back to Sunday mornings. Even I had a cartoon in the lineup that would only get new episodes on Saturday/Sunday after my originally-intended live-stream time, obviously, Saturday mornings.
April's U-PICK poll will promise to have three "modern" cartoons, a "retro" cartoon, and the winning pick will premiere after the Emergency Occurrence Filler Arc's conclusion, also wrapping up NINJA KAMUI* broadcasts on Toon Time Theater. This will be the final U-PICK poll for the Emergency Occurrence Filler Arc, and will do everything possible to satisfy new and old cartoon fans.
Well, that takes care of it. In case you missed my lineup announcements on Saturday night's Twitch stream, I am re-posting the lineups here and now. However, you don't have to take my word for it.
Tumblr media
Not to mention BAKUGAN, the very first U-PICK winner, will have its season finale aired on my Twitch channel on April 14. After that, there will be additional changes to the Toon Time Theater lineup. I won't be giving out any additional details until around that date, but I can consider announcing the next U-PICK shows and details then.
NINJA KAMUI is the second U-PICK winner, but my viewers wanted to watch the series on Saturday mornings. I had to be generous of them when I started the Emergency Occurrence Filler Arc just so they can watch the newest episodes the morning after Toonami's broadcasts. I eventually went back to Saturday morning "reruns" when my family issues were finally attended to, continuing with my commitment with my viewers.

Cider's Organic Revolution and What It Means for Drinkers
Tumblr media
When nature generously offers its bounties, there's nothing more refreshing than the crisp taste of hard cider. From the gentle hum of orchards to the bustling cider presses, each drop of this tantalizing beverage encapsulates the essence of earth's treasures. As the desire for organic and sustainable choices swells, ecological hard cider stands tall, embodying a delightful fusion of natural refreshment. Let's delve deeper into a world where every sip resonates with nature's purity, and where the u-pick concept offers a refreshing perspective on the beloved drink.
The Resurgence of Traditional Techniques
In the yesteryears, cider-making was a cherished, community-driven affair. The roots of the u-pick tradition lay in local communities coming together, eagerly selecting their favorite apples, and partaking enthusiastically in the cider-making process. This wasn't just about creating a drink, but about weaving stories, sharing experiences, and forming connections.
Today, as modern life often pulls us away from such community engagements, the revival of this tradition couldn't be timelier. By adopting the u-pick method, cider producers are ensuring not just the superior freshness of ingredients, but they're also gifting drinkers a sentimental tie to their beverage, harking back to simpler times.
The Ecological Impact of Hard Cider Production
The beauty of ecological cider production isn't just skin deep—it has profound environmental implications. Orchards that champion the u-pick ethos typically shun the use of detrimental pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. The benefits are twofold. First, the soil thrives, maintaining its vitality and ensuring healthier apple growth. Second, each apple remains untainted, free from harmful residues, promising a cleaner, more genuine cider taste. As environmental concerns become more prominent in consumer choices, ecological hard ciders, which put the planet first, are soaring in popularity.
A Flavor Profile Like No Other
Beyond its eco-friendly credentials, ecological hard cider brings forth a flavor palette that's unparalleled. When apples mature without the intrusion of chemicals, they naturally evolve richer, layered flavors—a symphony of sweet, tart, and earthy notes. Combine this with the u-pick experience, and the resulting drink is a veritable feast for the senses.
Each bottle, infused with the choices and preferences of the individual who handpicked the apples, becomes a unique expression of taste. It's not just a beverage; it's a narrative of nature's perfection combined with personal choice.
Bridging the Gap between Farmers and Drinkers
While many of us relish the flavors of our favorite drinks, we often overlook the origins of these tantalizing tastes. The u-pick approach in ecological hard cider production bridges this disconnect. When cider enthusiasts tread the soil of orchards, witness the ripening apples, and select them with their own hands, a deeper connection forms.
This not only fosters a greater appreciation for the craft of cider-making but also humanizes the entire process. Farmers, no longer distant entities, become fellow craftsmen, sharing the story of the land, the seasons, and the fruit.
Boosting Local Economies
Sustainability isn't just about the environment; it extends to the communities that nurture these orchards. By prioritizing the u-pick model, ecological cider production fuels local economies. Instead of mass-produced apples shipped from afar, cider makers source directly from neighboring orchards with Champlain Orchards.
This ensures that each bottle of cider is not just a drink but a pledge of support to local farmers. Furthermore, the influx of visitors to u-pick orchards provides additional revenue streams, from guided tours to farm stays, enriching the local economic tapestry.
The Health Advantages of Organic Cider
While indulgence is often associated with guilt, ecological hard cider challenges this notion. Made organically, this drink eschews artificial additives and preservatives. The result is a cleaner, more natural taste and a beverage that retains the wholesome goodness of apples. With the u-pick factor ensuring utmost freshness, drinkers can relish not just the taste but also the inherent nutritional benefits. Rich in antioxidants, with a balance of essential minerals and vitamins, each sip becomes a blend of pleasure and health.
Conclusion
Ecological hard cider is more than a trend; it's a celebration of tradition, ecology, community, and flavor. By embracing the u-pick concept, we're not only relishing an exquisite drink but also engaging in a narrative that values the environment, supports local communities, and cherishes the age-old bond between humans and nature. As you pour your next glass, remember that with ecological hard cider, you're not just enjoying a beverage; you're partaking in a story that's as rich and nuanced as the flavors dancing on your palate.

Toon Time Theater U-PICK
Salutations, anime fans. I am Gabriel Ramos, DJ and broadcaster for Toon Time Theater on the New Gabe Order Twitch channel. Now that NINJA KAMUI and IGPX: Immortal Grand Prix have ended, it's about time for another U-PICK poll. This time, I'm not playing around. You have until May 18 at 7 AM PDT to make your choices. When that time comes, I will end the Spotify peepshow and review your votes on both Tumblr and X. After I collect your votes and sum them up, I will reveal the next lineups for May 2024 before broadcasting Part 2 of the FRUITS BASKET (2019) Marathon.
Turns out MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN is getting a second season, but unlike the previous season, there will be Saturday/Sunday premieres, meaning that I am unable to live-stream the newest episodes when I return to Saturday morning cartoon blocks. You have two options:
A. Live-stream MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN on Saturday mornings only to be one episode behind the Toonami broadcasts
B. Live-stream MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN on Sunday mornings following the Toonami broadcasts, ensuring I live-stream the latest episodes possible
If you don't want me to live-stream that cartoon, I have Bartender (2006), Hell's Paradise (Jigokuraku), Kannazuki no Miko, SMILING FRIENDS Season 2 and FRUITS BASKET (2019): The Final Season as options. There is also Season 2 of HI SCORE GIRL, but if most of you vote for it, then it will be placed at the end of the lineup before HAIKYU!! as a Hall of Fame* program. I still want to sign off after HAIKYU!! to encourage viewers to get off their couches and play outside when a broadcast day concludes.
* The Toon Time Theater Hall of Fame is a sub-block dedicated to re-broadcasts of familiar cartoons previously shown on T3, as well as some classic cartoons from the Millennial generation to Gen Z.
If you are new to my blog, I host a Saturday morning cartoon block on the New Gabe Order Twitch channel called Toon Time Theater. This is dedicated to make Toonami's programs more accessible to people with curfews preventing them from watching the block. Not only that, it serves as a bridge between the Saturday morning cartoon blocks of the past and the late night anime blocks of the present. On Toon Time Theater, I dedicate this block to the latest and greatest of animation. Programs include Pokémon (since Journeys), X-MEN (1992), NARUTO SHIPPUDEN, ONE PIECE (Wano Country arc), DRAGON BALL Z KAI and HAIKYU!!. Unlike MeTV's offerings, this is for Millennials and younger generations that crave for new (and appealing) content.

shouto’s the type to feel too far away from you when you’re not at arms length. so whenever he has homework to do he does it on his tatami floor while holding your hand. he’s unbothered too, arm not cramping or moving while he writes perfectly well (or he tries) with his other hand. when you think about your position you can’t help but laugh from your spot laying on the floor. shouto never gets what you find funny.
