When you look up at the heavens are you seeing above the stars? Who told you about this image? Was it not the nations?
Isaiah 13,14
You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to the heavens. Above the stars of God I will lift up my throne, And I will sit down on the mountain of meeting, In the remotest parts of the north. I will go up above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself resemble the Most High.’
Matthew 4:16,17
The people sitting in darkness saw a great light, and as for those sitting in a region of deathly shadow, light rose on them.” From that time on, Jesus began preaching and saying: “Repent, for the Kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.”
Matthew 10:7
As you go, preach, saying: ‘The Kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’
I sort of like the thought that Zuko and Aang take the Sun Warriors' warning not to tell anyone about the dragons a little more seriously… and they keep it between them. Of course, they trust Sokka, Toph and Katara. Of course they know they wouldn’t tell anyone, but now three people (including Iroh) know the truth about Ran and Shaw. And that’s three too many when you’re trying to keep a secret.
(and there are other people at the temple as well - like Haru, Teo and The Duke - who, while trustworthy, aren’t as close to them as the others, and when it comes to secrets with as much consequence as this one, you can’t afford to take any chances.)
Furthermore, the culture within the Fire Nation since Sozin’s rein has been warped. The culture is not to respect the dragons as the original firebenders, it’s to conquer and kill them. It’s the ultimate proof of your strength as a firebender. All it takes is one mistake before rumour spreads, and people go looking for the ultimate hunt. It’s not something Zuko or Aang can risk.
Whether Katara, Toph and Sokka (and Suki) ever find out the truth is up to you. But post-war, after Zuko returns from a strange, poorly explained trip with a dragon, and eventually develops the ability to use rainbow fire, either the others have some questions about Aang’s knowing look, or they are finally let in on a monumental secret.
"There is no higher level of spiritual knowledge, understanding, wisdom, awareness, growth, enlightenment, insight, power, life, or truth than that in Jesus Christ and being in Him. Anything or anybody who claims to offer something higher than that is false, it is demonic. Nothing is higher than Him."
Sometimes people act from their pain body, from their trauma. And then something really bad happens and they wake up, come online. Once someone is awake and aware, you can really see it. It's like you're interacting with a different person. The mask if off. They hear you. They see you. You can see that they see you. No one's acting out roles anymore. It's a completely different thing. A new dynamic.
A level-headed person gives helpful answers, but a know-it-all only keeps on babbling nonsense.
A gentle answer quiets anger, but a harsh one stirs it up.
When wise people speak, they make knowledge attractive, but stupid people spout nonsense.
The Lord sees what happens everywhere; he is watching us, whether we do good or evil.
Kind words bring life, but cruel words crush your spirit.
It is foolish to ignore what your parents taught you; it is wise to accept their…
Modesty is a beautiful quality. When someone is modest about their achievements and modest in their words, they instantly become likable.
This applies to anyone in any position. An average person can become loveable through modest actions. Someone with achievements looks so much better when they don't constantly boast.
When modesty is found, real growth can happen. In a way, it's a return to a healthy human state. One that fosters connection and harmony.
I find it funny that everything in existence is inseparable from change, yet we resist it. I'm not speaking from a high horse here; I struggle to deal with change just as much as everyone else.
A family or friend passes away, and we wish we could have them back; you break up with your SO, and you wish you could go back to the way things used to be; you crash your car and break your leg to the point that you'll never walk the same and hate yourself for making that choice. All of these situations suck ass. They're horrible, and the pain you feel from being stuck in a situation is the worst. But the truth is that it's no different than taking a step forward after standing still. The only factor that makes it different is how we approach those situations.
I wrote a post about a weird near-death experience I had, which started something for me. I realized that the answer to change is simply acceptance. When I accepted life every moment, nothing became totally unbearable anymore. When my dog passed, I was broken and cried non-stop for days. But in my heart, I accepted it was just how it was, and I could heal quickly. I was broken, but I didn't want to go back. I didn't want to possess a moment, a person, or an animal but simply appreciate its existence and my participation in it. Thanks to learning immediate acceptance, I felt like I always healed faster than others. It feels like a shortcut to the grieving cycle.
I still struggle to accept change sometimes, but I always return to the same thought: If I can accept it, it will be fine.
You can lie to yourself and hide from yourself as much as you want, but your body knows the truth. When something needs healing within our heart, mind, and soul, the body creates symptoms of illness to make us aware of underlying issues that need healing, understanding, and love. I think in one sense, the body is more attuned to our energy than our mind. The body is the physical representation of our energetic health. When the body is sick, more often than not, unresolved emotions need our attention and create an energetic imbalance within us, resulting in symptoms. If you are highly attuned to spiritual energy but not grounded enough in your body, or/and if you have unresolved psychological/emotional wounds, it can cause you to lose contact with your body, making it harder to listen to it. Healing is also about learning how to reconnect with your body’s wisdom and learning to listen to its messages. ~ @feminiel
