#WTF decor

This home in Los Osos, California is a case of rich people not knowing what kind of decor they want. Zillow calls it a “Mediterranean Castle.” Whatever. It’s $2.9M and is a study in ostentation. You’ll love it.

Firstly, I wouldn’t want to climb all these steps to get into a house, no matter how they’re illuminated. 

This is outrageous. Who intentionally builds a house w/stairs like this? Where’s the mailbox?

Anyway, let’s imagine that we climbed up to the front door, I’m needing oxygen, and we’re hitting the intercom button on the right. (My house had that same intercom and it was so dated, people made fun of it.)

As soon as we enter the foyer, we can see how confused they are. There’s a big medieval soldier with a serene Zen motif, neither of which is Mediterranean. 

Notice the tile work, the columns (still no Mediterranean) and the bright red carpet.

I’m so confused. The fireplace has gryphons and I thought it was Egyptian, but it’s painted bright red. I give up w/this house, already.

Persian rug, Italian or French statue. 

The Buddha and a Chinese dragon, plus a statue on a Greek column that bears a resemblance to Puss in Boots. Also, more stairs just to get up to the kitchen.

The backsplash isn’t Mediterranean, or is it? I’m so confused.

The dining room. This decor is a League of Nations style.

Now, they tell me there’s an elevator.

Going down more stairs, we pass by some kind of a balcony.

And, out to a very Zen meditation room. 

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hot tub w/so many jets. I’m afraid of it.

Here’s a bathroom- is that a horse in a coral in the ceiling light? 

Look at the closet doors. Are those posters?

Family room, maybe?

This is the balcony we saw before. There’s a French tapestry.

So, this would be the main bd. 

And, the en suite.

Looks like a home office.

And, a shower.

Another office?  Look at this fireplace. I can’t even.

Well, right about now in the tour, I feel like I need a drink.

WTH is this?

I guess the rough terrain doesn’t allow for a yard, so there’s a deck. I hate this house.

Been talking about gender recently and I'd like to explain something about agender identity that at the very least applies to me, and I'd be interested to think what nonbinary and other agender people feel about it.

A lot of times when I say I'm agender I am asked "you mean nonbinary?" So for those of you genuinely curious on the difference, this is what it means to me.

Nonbinary, to me, means you have an identity other than strictly man or woman, while Agender means you don't have any identity at all beyond the lack of an identity. Think about religion. There are the Abrahamic religions: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. You can also practice non-Abrahamic religions like Hinduism, Norse Paganism, and countless others. Or, you can practice no religion at all.

Saying to me as an agender person that I'm just nonbinary is sort of like telling an atheist that they just practice a non-Abrahamic faith. Like. They don't. They don't observe religious ceremony, they don't worship any Gods, they have no religious faith whatsoever. That's the point. I don't have a non-binary gender identity, I don't have any gender identity at all. My gender is of absolutely no consequence, if you hit me with a retcon beam and I woke up in a universe where I was assigned male instead of female my whole life, it would cause absolutely no discomfort or dysphoria NOR joy or euphoria, beyond little societal things that I just wasn't used to yet.

I do understand that some people identify as nonbinary despite not having any gender identity at all, and that's totally okay! It's not like it's incorrect-- no gender identity would technically not fall on a binary spectrum, so to call it nonbinary isn't incorrect. I think agender can be considered to fall under the nonbinary umbrella, that's just not how I, in my personal identity, see it, and I tend to feel invalidated or like people are pushing a gender onto me when people say I'm just nonbinary.

I'm interested to know how other queer people (especially people who identify as enby or agender) feel about it and I hope this helps others to sort of understand the difference 🖤🩶🤍💚🤍🩶🖤

Little 1901 sturdy brick house in St. Louis, Missouri takes patriotism and decor to a whole 'nother level. It has 3bd 2ba and asks $249,600. I do like the red door.

As soon as you enter the home, you see that there's some blue paint wall accents, and there's an office setup in the corner. This house is bursting at the seams.

I'm gonna say that the little Xmas trees stay out all year. I'm distracted, I can't seem to focus on the house. The living room looks like a good size and there's a nice wood burning stove.

I get the impression that there are military family members that are into patriotic decor, but then someone also put up a woodland piece on the ceiling. There's a lot going on.

It looks like they staged the dining room table, which really wasn't necessary. I can hardly see the dining room.

A small guest powder room. Good to have, especially if you entertain.

I didn't think that this was the main bd, but then I saw the King & Queen pillows. So, this is the main bd. It must be big, b/c there's a lot of stuff in here.

Okay, okay. Random shit I pulled out of my ass. But since my birthday is almost coming up, I plan on getting my first ever build a bear doll that I can create for myself and it's gonna be a Mer-Frog stuffed animal. At first, I wanted it to be a Hawaii theme mer frog, but I found out that it wasn't gonna work due to the outfit only being available in the summer. Luckily, they have the Ursula outfit so maybe I can use that instead. Anyway, here's an image I wanted my frog to look alongside my old plans for it.

Again, since the summer outfit isn't available (including half of the stuff listed here) I at least have an idea as to what outfit I should get for my mermaid frog until I'm able to get the outfit I originally wanted for my doll. After that, I'm still gonna try to see if I'm able to get the sound effect I actually want it to have.

And since the coconut/pineapple scent isn't available, I'm just gonna go for the birthday scent cause, y'know, it's gonna be my birthday soon? So, yeah. That's all I wanna say.
