FINALLY finished the fellow sophonts for Styraphant-land. They aren't too closely related to the styraphants and have quiet a few differences. They are small, energized, and hyper carnivorous. Info dump BELOW!
Caltrops live on a mostly tropical continent, with the majority of their range being lush jungle and forests. The continent is pretty new, with the flying ancestors of the Caltrops being some of the first terrestrial creatures to colonize the land. So these guys and their relatives have a pretty intense stranglehold on the niche of megafauna. Caltrops are on the larger side of carnivores there and specialize in catching smaller prey with their creepy face fingers. They also partake in fruits and other treats they can find in the shrubbery.
Or at least they did before they got CIVILIZED. They have a complex and violent history between various peoples and governments that has lead to their current system of shakily aligned states controlling very rigid territories. But things are p chill at the moment! They made contact with the Styraphants a few hundred years ago and they actually have gotten along pretty well, though it is rare to see either living fulltime outside of their native ranges. (See ranges below)
Tumblr media
I want to make a more in depth anatomy overview for them, but here are some general notes. They have 'stalk' less eyes, more so the stalk has shortened and become part of the eye itself. They have 6 webbed fingers that cover the majority of their face, including their mouth, nostrils, and secondary fingers. They have NO digits on their front limbs, since they are derived from wings, but they do still have their toesies. That big ass spike above their head is the remnants of their keel, used now for the muscle attachments of their large head. And most importantly is their tail, which like a Styraphant, is grown and dropped to feed their young. Though it is actually the male Caltrop that drops his tail for the kids to eat. Yeah, a good lil STARTER for em. I have another info sheet almost done, but wanted to get them down so I could think on em more.

Rings my fucking bell, like a perennial fucking plague maiden:
Center harm, not disgust!
When in doubt (and when not in doubt, just swept by problems bigger than you and assured by someone that they know the answer, so don't think right now, just Do!), center harm.
Focus on what specific harm you're reducing with your actions. Make sure it's tangible and concrete. If your actions are minimizing hypothetical harm at the cost of real, tangible harm on others, 9 out 10 times you're on the wrong fucking side, being weaponized by propaganda.
If a conversation revolves around disgust as a driver for action, you're being radicalized. If a call to action depends on your emotional response, you're being manipulated. I'm sorry, this isn't the 90s anymore, social media has eroded the web of respectability of the pre internet society. The primary axis for misinformation to spread in this day and age is emotional response: half the things you believe are true and share as such are not based on fact, expert opinion or personal research. Social media has conditioned us (all of us! You and me and most dangerously of all, the idiots we put in power) that if something feels true, it probably is.
But do you know for sure it is? Do you think it's true because you have first hand experience or actual time spent on reputable sources learning it to be fact? Or just because it aligns with your worldview and it would be nice for you if it were true?
Are you taking action because you're angry and a group of fellow angry folk invited you to join them? Do you have a plan or is this just catharsis? Are you aware of the consequences of your actions or are you drunk on rage and focused only on the immediate future?
Center harm. Center specific actions and their consequences.
Discomfort is not harm. Disgust is not harm. Hypothetical paranoia is not harm.
The reactionary pipeline is real and your self-image as a progressive is not actually enough to save you from falling down the hole. Radicalization is not hinged on politics alone. Saying you're a leftist is worthless if your thought process and actions themselves are indistinguishable from qanon losers. Conspiratorial thought has literally no politics inherently, and your insistence it does is pure lack of critical thought on display.
Center harm, not feelings, not politics, not group think.
Center harm, and remember that individual actions cannot dismantle systemic structures on their own, so anyone who calls for individual action at the cost of community structures is not actually trying to change anything, and instead actively suppressing efforts to make anything better in any way.

Stand up for your neighbors in San Diego
In light of recent ICE raids at the Federal Courthouse and Buona Forchetta Restaurant in San Diego and in Los Angeles, and the outrageous and dangerous Republican overreaction to Los Angeles protests, it’s important for all of us to find ways to turn our grief and outrage into action for our immigrant neighbors.
ICE raids are violent and excessive, but the community stepped up to fight back and block ICE’s departure. Here in San Diego, ICE responded with military tactics, including flashbangs and smoke grenades. As we write this (Sunday afternoon, June 8), it’s unclear how the situation in Los Angeles will play out. But it’s clear that Republicans want a mass, violent confrontation with protesters, and if they can’t find the occasion, they’ll manufacture it. And Republicans want to break blue states, starting with California.
Here are some things you can do to help preserve freedom and help your neighbors, compiled from local community organizations:
The No Kings March is Sunday, June 14, at Waterfront Park in San Diego. It’s part of a national day of action. See the link, preceding for information on that event and other No Kings events elsewhere in the county and online.
Volunteer to help elect Democrat Paloma Aguirre as County Supervisor in the July 1 special election. If Aguirre loses, the County Board of Supervisors flips Republican. The Aguirre campaign is asking people to canvass and phone-bank. While the district is overwhelmingly Democratic, Republican turnout is high, making this an at-risk election for us, as Democratic Party community leader Cynara Kidwell Velazquez noted at the recent June meeting of the La Mesa-Foothills Democratic Club.
What can you do if you see harassment? Sign up for bystander intervention training by Right To Be. That organization has classes to help protect against harassment of immigrants, women, disabled people, Jews, Muslims, LGBTQIA+ people, in public spaces, online, in the workplace, and so on.
Submit a public comment to your San Diego County Supervisor by June 12 to urge them to increase funding for immigration legal services. You can also email your county supervisor directly.
Also, tell the San Diego City Council that they should be funding community services, not surveillance tech. While our neighborhoods in San Diego are in desperate need of essential services such as libraries, parks and public restrooms, the city is cutting funding for those essential services, instead spending millions of dollars on a mass surveillance system: the Flock Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) and “smart” streetlight cameras—wasting money and threatening our privacy and civil liberties.
According to a petition on Change.org: “Flock ALPR tries to track the public movements of every individual in San Diego, 24/7, aligning with authoritarian agendas and the concerning trend of increasing surveillance. Instead of fostering community safety through positive and supportive measures, we are being forced into a society that values monitoring over meaningful safety solutions.” Sign the petition to oppose mass surveillance now.
Further resources:
Showing Up for Racial Justice is an organization for white people working for justice. The San Diego chapter is active and will next meet June 22, at a location to be determined. Sign up for email updates. SURJ’s Linktree lists calls to action.
The Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations' Migration, Refugees and Immigration webpage is a great resource, including an immigrant action toolkit. The Episcopal Diocese of San Diego’s Migration Ministry webpage provides useful definitions, Know Your Rights info, and links to partner organizations that offer a variety of ways to help immigrants.
Mobilize US and CBFDIndivisible list events, petitions and volunteer opportunities.
Take Action for San Diego Democrats is a web page run by the county Democratic Party with information on upcoming events, supporting the Aguirre campaign, learning more about running for local office, Planned Parenthood, how to make effective protest signs and more.
I wrote this for an upcoming issue of the newsletter of the La Mesa-Foothills Democratic Club.

Since I got into both The Magnus Archives and Vampire: the Masquerade, I found an interesting connection
Vampires in vtm are meant to be terrifying monsters that are the opposite of humanity, and there are 14 Clans, so it makes sense that the each could reflect a different primal fear that humans have, sorted into the 14 Entities (plus Thin-Bloods and the Extinction for fun)
Tumblr media
Banu Haqim: The Hunt - The Banu Haqim are known as “the Clan of the Hunt” and are known for being assassins, which mirrors the idea of chasing and hunting that this fear focuses on. The Blood Addition Bane also fits well with the addiction to the Hunt that its avatars often experience. The Hunt is also attached to law enforcement and often uses justice to motivate its avatars, which is a core focus of the Banu Haqim
Gangrel: The Slaughter - The Gangrel originate as a warrior clan from Ennoia, which relates to the Slaughter’s attachment with the fear of war. The Gangrel’s Feral Impulses also matches well with the blood lust and raw aggression that the Slaughter induces and feeds upon.
Hecata: The End - The Hecata’s obsession with Death makes them a clear connection with the fear of the finality of death and all things morbid and dead. The Hecata’s necromancy can be related to the items of cheating death such as the Catalogue of Trapped Dead and the animated cadaver
Malkavians: The Spiral - The Malkavians loose attachment to sanity and their visions that cause them to lose grip on what is real ties in very well with the Spiral’s themes of insanity and lose of reasoning. Their compulsion of Delusion aligns almost exactly with the Spiral’s twisting of perception and warping of what is real. Malkavians also have a symbolic attachment to mirrors and distorted reflections, which is also common with the Spiral
Nosferatu: The Eye - The Nosferatu’s habit for being silent observers and spies aligns itself to the passive, watching nature of the Eye and the fear of anyone being able to see you at any time. Their compulsion towards collecting secrets also fits with the Eye since it revolves around secrets known and uncovered, something the Nos specialize in. They themselves also experience a fear of being seen because their horrid appearances can often break the masquerade or lead to ridicule
Ravnos: The Vast - The Ravnos are travelers and wanderers that countless move across the world, which fits with the Vast and the idea of infinite possibles and expanse. Ravnos being dare devils also fits with the fear of heights the Vast induces since they will preform dangerous stunts and acrobatic tricks.
Toreador: The Stranger - The Toreador are often the most human looking out of all vampires save for their extreme beauty which is almost outside of what is humanly possibles, which is very similar to the Uncanny Valley and the “almost-human” quality of the Stranger. Toreador are also tied closely with music, dance and theater, which are all symbols used by the Stranger.
Tzimisce: The Flesh - The Tzimisce are the legendary Fleshcrafters, inspiring fear of horrible monstrosities of sinew and betrayal of the body, which is basically the definition of the Flesh. Taking a piece of someone’s body can also be used as an anchor or a grounding object (Jon’s rib), which aligns with the Tzimisce and their Possessiveness.
Venture: The Web - The Venture’s need for control and their constant politicking makes them a perfect fit for the Hidden Machinations, which deals with the fear of being controlled or manipulated. Them being (supposedly) at the top of vampire society also fits with the fact the Web always had the upper hand and was behind most of the events in TMA.
Brujah: The Desolation: The Bruja’s strong passion and Violent Temper align well with the fiery devotion of the Desolation and its avatar’s general disposition. Their compulsion of Rebellion and desire to “burn down” systems of control also fits with the destructive nature of this fear.
Tremere: The Buried -
(This one is the one I like the least and was a hard fit, so I may move stuff around in the future). The Treme’s pyramid smothers the people inside of it with hierarchy and leaves them trapped in the system, aligning with the metaphorical suffocation and entrapment of the Buried. Their Bane of Perfectionism also presents as a “crushing” expectation, which would fit with the Buried on a more conceptual level.
Lasombra: The Dark - This one feels pretty self explanatory but the Lasombra’s cold nature fits the descriptions of the Dark and its icy waters. The Dark also has a cult and ties to religious beliefs as it uses ignorance to control people, which is something the Lasombra have strong ties to. Their Bane of Ruthlessness mirrors how coldly cruel many Dark avatars can be such as Rayner trying to kill and posses a child.
Ministry: The Corruption - The Ministry and the Corruption both deal heavily with temptation, as the Hive sings its song of love, safety, and pleasure to its victims in the same way the Serpents do. One of the nicknames for the Ministry are the Corruptors
Duskborn/Thin-bloods: The Extinction - The Duskborn are the newest of the Kindred clans and the Extinction was said to be a new development as a fear. They both are signs of the end of the world, with the Extinction’s full manifestation being said to destroy humanity and the Thin-bloods connection to Gehenna.
Salubri: The Lonely - The Salubri being isolated due to propaganda and hunted to near extinction makes them a very Lonely clan. They also have ties to being slightly more peaceful, as the Salubri tend towards nonviolent hunting methods and the Lonely very truly killing its victims.
Anyways, once again feel free to critic this or pose any additional supports for any of these categories.

I read through all of Elias/Jonah's dialogue (as you do) plus some relistening and mentions of him, so here's a big list of some fun things and behaviors I noted!
I thought he made a lot of eye puns/jokes, but he only does it once in mag161, however he does enjoy making jokes. "Creativity never was their forte." from mag80, "You want my account? My sworn testimony? My statement?" from 82, "If you die, I’m afraid you probably won’t be able to claim your expenses." in 116 and "I only have two eyes, after all." in 120. no one ever laughs at his jokes only he finds them amusing
His last words telling Jon a sarcastic or mocking "good luck" are mirrored earlier as he also tells Basira good luck the last time he sees her, and Martin, as he's getting arrested
He loves gloating. "I forget how new you all are to this." from mag92, "Coffee is not as good for disguising tastes as you might think." in 98, "She’s hoping that even if I see it coming she’ll still be able to overpower me. She’s wrong, of course," in 102, "A masterpiece, isn’t it?" abt his panopticon in 158 and of course his whole monologue in 160
He does his budgeting on tuesdays and his scheduling on wednesdays
He also likes getting lost in work
in mag40 he makes up proper incompetency (said he didnt know how the fire system works, while he later admits he was actively waiting) just that once, but more so he acts like he doesnt get the full picture (doesnt know whats in the tunnels, whats strange about the institute) or acts too late and apologises (not stepping into jon's stalking behaviour). Which makes me think he is quite fine letting people think less of him but unless he has something to hide hes not actively looking to give the impression
in mag92 elias slides the papers for basira across his desk, but you don't hear him take them out before, meaning he prepared and got ready for this before he called the police
in general he's a very preparing man, Lukas steps in when Elias is arrested so has has control over who'd run it. in mag118 he says he prepared something to hurt martin (my speculation is that he likely has some trauma that could hurt you prepared for any person that could cross him, just in case he needs it). When he gets arrested he has something prepared so he doesnt get killed and ofc s1-4 is preparing Jon for his grand ritual
Elias admits the idea for his ritual kinda fell into place after Getrude didnt do anything about the people's church in march 2015. He shot Getrude and appointed Jon shortly after so "when you came to me already marked by the Web, I knew it had to be you." is pure dramatics as Jon was hired 4 years prior
also he got his ritual in 2018 so he managed to acomplish his life's goal in only 3 years, love his grindset 🔥
We never get a number for how many people Elias has killed in his ritual, the real life millbank has held over 1000 people at once, but id imagine his one panopticon held less than a whole complex
its really interesting to me in mag92 that hes SO sure they all know he's talking to them of his own free will. is he just that dead set on being in control or making sure they take no credit for his confession
there is a clock in Elias' office (but it's only heard in mag98)
He has killed people but Elias is very much not a blood thirsty person. Getrude and Peter are both surprised when he results to that. He's very much just ruthless and does not care, if to get his way he has to kill someone. It doesnt seem like he's ever happy to do so, maybe this is a quirk of being eye aligned and getting rid of any type of knowledge is painful (he does for example never want Tim to die at the Unknowing), or he just finds covering those murders up a hassle
for the Unknowing Elias books them all hotel rooms, how thoughtful
something cute to me that Jon was too good at the Eye that Elias couldnt meet him face to face post coma
In mag158 he implies that even Institute employees not in the archives are tied to it, at least enough that they could suffer or die if it burned down
between finding other people just as tools to watch and discard and saying empathy holds you back he was definitely a very very lonely man
He is a very breathy person. He sounds breathy when he talks. He takes deep breaths to ready himself and before he uses his powers. And he often breathes through his nose before speaking or during pauses
He has said Jon's name 62 times, only twice calling him "Jonathan" and called him archivist 25 times (24 in the mag120 statement, 1 in mag138 and 1 in mag161)(he also kinda calls him The Archive in 160)
other fun amount of words: know (65 times), see (42), martin (35), detective (20), eyes (20) and eye (9), afraid (9) and "bullshit" (1)
its still insane to me they added all of those sound effects of Elias' cuffs in prison, thats something fun to appreciate. It also means its canon he gestures quite a bit!

Technomancy: The Fusion Of Magick And Technology
Tumblr media
Technomancy is a modern magickal practice that blends traditional occultism with technology, treating digital and electronic tools as conduits for energy, intent, and manifestation. It views computers, networks, and even AI as extensions of magickal workings, enabling practitioners to weave spells, conduct divination, and manipulate digital reality through intention and programming.
Core Principles of Technomancy
• Energy in Technology – Just as crystals and herbs carry energy, so do electronic devices, circuits, and digital spaces.
• Code as Sigils – Programming languages can function as modern sigils, embedding intent into digital systems.
• Information as Magick – Data, algorithms, and network manipulation serve as powerful tools for shaping reality.
• Cyber-Spiritual Connection – The internet can act as an astral realm, a collective unconscious where digital entities, egregores, and thought-forms exist.
Technomantic Tools & Practices
Here are some methods commonly utilized in technomancy. Keep in mind, however, that like the internet itself, technomancy is full of untapped potential and mystery. Take the time to really explore the possibilities.
Digital Sigil Crafting
• Instead of drawing sigils on paper, create them using design software or ASCII art.
• Hide them in code, encrypt them in images, or upload them onto decentralized networks for long-term energy storage.
• Activate them by sharing online, embedding them in file metadata, or charging them with intention.
Algorithmic Spellcasting
• Use hashtags and search engine manipulation to spread energy and intent.
• Program bots or scripts that perform repetitive, symbolic tasks in alignment with your goals.
• Employ AI as a magickal assistant to generate sigils, divine meaning, or create thought-forms.
Tumblr media
Digital Divination
• Utilize random number generators, AI chatbots, or procedural algorithms for prophecy and guidance.
• Perform digital bibliomancy by using search engines, shuffle functions, or Wikipedia’s “random article” feature.
• Use tarot or rune apps, but enhance them with personal energy by consecrating your device.
Technomantic Servitors & Egregores
• Create digital spirits, also called cyber servitors, to automate tasks, offer guidance, or serve as protectors.
• House them in AI chatbots, coded programs, or persistent internet entities like Twitter bots.
• Feed them with interactions, data input, or periodic updates to keep them strong.
The Internet as an Astral Plane
• Consider forums, wikis, and hidden parts of the web as realms where thought-forms and entities reside.
• Use VR and AR to create sacred spaces, temples, or digital altars.
• Engage in online rituals with other practitioners, synchronizing intent across the world.
Video-game Mechanics & Design
• Use in-game spells, rituals, and sigils that reflect real-world magickal practices.
• Implement a lunar cycle or planetary influences that affect gameplay (e.g., stronger spells during a Full Moon).
• Include divination tools like tarot cards, runes, or pendulums that give randomized yet meaningful responses.
Tumblr media
Narrative & World-Building
• Create lore based on historical and modern magickal traditions, including witches, covens, and spirits.
• Include moral and ethical decisions related to magic use, reinforcing themes of balance and intent.
• Introduce NPCs or AI-guided entities that act as guides, mentors, or deities.
Virtual Rituals & Online Covens
• Design multiplayer or single-player rituals where players can collaborate in spellcasting.
• Implement altars or digital sacred spaces where users can meditate, leave offerings, or interact with spirits.
• Create augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) experiences that mimic real-world magickal practices.
Advanced Technomancy
The fusion of technology and magick is inevitable because both are fundamentally about shaping reality through will and intent. As humanity advances, our tools evolve alongside our spiritual practices, creating new ways to harness energy, manifest desires, and interact with unseen forces. Technology expands the reach and power of magick, while magick brings intention and meaning to the rapidly evolving digital landscape. As virtual reality, AI, and quantum computing continue to develop, the boundaries between the mystical and the technological will blur even further, proving that magick is not antiquated—it is adaptive, limitless, and inherently woven into human progress.
Tumblr media
Cybersecurity & Warding
• Protect your digital presence as you would your home: use firewalls, encryption, and protective sigils in file metadata.
• Employ mirror spells in code to reflect negative energy or hacking attempts.
• Set up automated alerts as magickal wards, detecting and warning against digital threats.
Quantum & Chaos Magic in Technomancy
• Use quantum randomness (like random.org) in divination for pure chance-based outcomes.
• Implement chaos magick principles by using memes, viral content, or trend manipulation to manifest desired changes.
AI & Machine Learning as Oracles
• Use AI chatbots (eg GPT-based tools) as divination tools, asking for symbolic or metaphorical insights.
• Train AI models on occult texts to create personalized grimoires or channeled knowledge.
• Invoke "digital deities" formed from collective online energies, memes, or data streams.
Ethical Considerations in Technomancy
• Be mindful of digital karma—what you send out into the internet has a way of coming back.
• Respect privacy and ethical hacking principles; manipulation should align with your moral code.
• Use technomancy responsibly, balancing technological integration with real-world spiritual grounding.
As technology evolves, so will technomancy. With AI, VR, and blockchain shaping new realities, magick continues to find expression in digital spaces. Whether you are coding spells, summoning cyber servitors, or using algorithms to divine the future, technomancy offers limitless possibilities for modern witches, occultists, and digital mystics alike.

since skelly crews final is about to come out I would like to drop my obscure theory as to who I think Jod might be based on mostly vibes, and a few character traits.
I think he's Jaybo Hood, this kid from the clone wars episode mystery of a thousand moons.
Tumblr media
now, at first I was just like "haha their names are kind of similar," but our first introduction to this kid is him having reprogramed a bunch of droids to be his servants, which would align with how Jod treats droids. not to mention his affinity for droids could be a sign of early force sensitivity, much like Anakin in episode I.
secondly, there was his line in episode 4 where he says the air taste like ashy dust and reminds him of his home planet. Jaybo's planet Iego as we saw it in the clone wars was surrounded by a lazer web that destroyed anything trying to leave which would certainly leave a strong impression of ashy dust. As a bonus note, Iego is part of the ash worlds sector. Coincidence? I mean probably, but it is fun to think about.
As a third point, there are similarities that can be drawn between Iego's moon web and the barrier. Star wars is a fan of it's narrative repetition. I think putting him in a position where he's trapped on a planet by a planet wide security system would fall into the "it's like poetry, it rhymes" category.
Now onto things mentioned in interviews.
Jude Law has spoken a few times about how Jod didn't really have a childhood; it was snatched away from him and all he sees when he looks at the kids are small adults. He doesn't understand why they can't just survive, why they're so inexperienced. He has no real concept of innocence.
That would align with a kid like Jaybo who has had to take what he can to get in a pretty rough situation. Not to mention his introduction is sending his reprogrammed battle droid out to the jedi with the message "The venerable Jaybo Hood requests an audience" (venerable beings someone accorded a great deal of respect especially because of age wisdom or character) despite the fact he's a ten year old kid.
Jude Law also speaks several times about drawing inspiration from Han Salo for Jod.
if you look at the behind the scenes notes on wikipidia it says Jaybo Hood was described by Dave Filoni as "a cross between a young Anakin and a young Han Solo."
None of this is really enough for a full theory, I just think its fun to think about. Jod could be someone from legends, someone entirely original, a jedis kid, or somehow a Palpatine clone (given the prevalence of project necromancer in recent media.) Really I just hope they give us some kind of payoff to explain some of their writing decisions.

🔄Quantum Healing🔄
Quantum healing is a journey that connects your mind, body, and soul to the limitless potential of the universe. It is based on the idea that all possibilities already exist within the Quantum Field, a vast, unseen web of energy where your thoughts, emotions, and intentions shape your reality. Rather than treating symptoms, quantum healing addresses the root causes of imbalance, creating transformation on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
✨How Does It Work?✨
Your body is not just a collection of cells; it is an energetic system deeply influenced by your thoughts and emotions. Negative patterns or unresolved emotions create energetic blockages, which can manifest as physical or emotional discomfort. Quantum healing uses focused intention, mindfulness, and energy practices to release these blockages and restore harmony.
When you align your thoughts and emotions with higher frequencies such as love, gratitude, and wholeness, you activate your body’s natural ability to heal. Every cell becomes a vessel for transformation, guided by the energy you embody.
✨Healing Beyond the Physical✨
Quantum healing goes far beyond addressing physical ailments. It is a journey of the soul. By working with the Quantum Field, you can access deeper layers of healing, such as releasing limiting beliefs, processing unresolved emotions, and reprogramming your subconscious mind. It reconnects you with your divine essence, reminding you that you are more than your physical body. You are an energetic being with infinite potential.
✨How to Begin Your Journey✨
1️⃣Cultivate awareness: Observe your thoughts and emotions. Identify patterns that may no longer serve you.
2️⃣Set intentions: Visualize the reality you wish to create. Align your energy with love, peace, and gratitude.
3️⃣Use energy practices: Meditate, practice Reiki, or work with visualization to connect with the Quantum Field.
4️⃣Trust the process: Healing unfolds naturally as you release resistance and align with the flow of the universe.
Hair: More than just aesthetics - the wisdom of indigenous traditions
Indigenous cultures see hair as a physical extension of our thoughts and a sign of our connection between body and mind. Each hair represents ourselves, and hairstyles carry symbolic meanings:
Middle parting represents clarity of thought
Braid symbolizes the unity of heart and mind
Hair down shows self-confidence
Updo means determination
Hair is also a kind of "antenna" for animals and plants, absorbing solar energy and conducting life energy (prana) through the body. After cutting the hair, it takes three years for the "antenna" at the ends of the hair to fully regenerate.
Historical meanings:
Long hair was considered a sign of strength and wisdom in many cultures. Tyrannical systems often cut the hair of conquered people as a sign of submission and powerlessness. Hair styling among indigenous peoples symbolized their cultural values, stage of life and social position.
Health influences:
Hair that reaches its natural length produces phosphorus, calcium and vitamin D, which strengthen memory and physical energy. Yogis recommend washing hair every 72 hours and using a wooden comb to help circulate energy in the body.
Conclusion:
Hair has a spiritual and energetic function that goes far beyond fashion. It stores memories and supports us on our journey through life.🤔

Exhibits signs of complex trauma and internalized guilt response—subject is a classic moral absolutist operating in moral grey. • Behavioral alignment: Anti-heroic, trending toward cooperative vigilante. • Integration into Team Flash has promoted marked behavioral shifts—less isolation, increasing reliance on allies (notably Flash and Cisco Ramon). Subject remains emotionally reserved but is capable of deep loyalty once trust is established.
Background Summary: • Subject was adopted as a young child into the West family under sealed circumstances; birth records list "Calloway" as original surname. Details regarding biological parents remain classified or unknown, though metahuman lineage is suspected. • Early adolescence marked by above-average intelligence, academic aptitude in forensic science and behavioral criminology, and notable disciplinary issues related to authority resistance. Currently employed by CCPD as a criminologist. • Initial vigilante activity predates official metahuman registrated by ~10 months. Operated nocturnally under masked alias "The Spider", avoiding detection while targeting individuals who eluded legal consequence. Patterns consistent with personal vendetta overlaying systemic justice response. • Following first contact with The Flash, subject's strategy evolved—shifted from solo vigilantism to tactical cooperation in metahuman apprehension efforts. • Subject remains unregistered in the official Central City vigilante database, though Team Flash records identify him as a consistent field agent in meta-level incidents.
THREAT ASSESSMENT: • Threat Level: Yellow (Conditional Watchlist) • Subject poses no direct threat to civilians or sanctioned meta operations under typical parameters. Actions are guided by a strong internal moral code, though not always in alignment with ARGUS or CCPD protocol. • Tactical efficiency, unpredictability, and emotional volatility under specific triggers (e.g., child endangerment, abuse of power, sexual abuse) warrant continued surveillance • Field Classification: Containment Risk Tier II — Standard intervention protocols apply; use of lethal force not authorized unless subject breaches metahuman containment policy. • Despite cooperative stance, subject has not submitted to full ARGUS evaluation.
SECURITY CLEARANCE NOTES: Access to full dossier contents restricted to Level 9 operatives and above. Any unauthorized attempts to duplicate, transmit, or disseminate subject data will trigger immediate lockdown protocol [Ref. ARGUS Regulation 16.3c]. Subject's full metahuman potential remains under evaluation; redacted portions accessible only by Director Waller or ARGUS Field Oversight Division.
[SECTION REDACTED – 03.16.XX / AUTHORIZATION: W. WALLER] Biological origin and medical anomalies flagged for meta-genetic analysis. Subject denies knowledge of pre-adoption trauma. Further investigation pending.

Does anyone else feel like the fears are a bit more overlapping than before? Like maybe being extruded into a new reality made them less separate entities or 'Gods' and almost like elements (like the alchemical stuff we keep hearing about - Celia talks about it in the context of her transportation, Sam knows about it, Colin rants about it before smashing Alice's phone) that can form alloys and compounds with each other?
Like, the investment app that has you destroy your life for money feels very Devastation (specifically Jude's story) but then the guy gets swarmed by what the content warning suggests are bugs - and gambling is very the Web, as it's a type of addiction. (Ditto the violin story and the dice).
Mr Bonzo feels like the Stranger because it's that uncanny 'guy in a costume' thing but also Filth because he's described as having these pustules and being gross and rotting.
The guy who rots into the garden is very Filth aligned but also the Lonely (continuous night, very obviously being alone and hallucinating). And the whole garden thing is reminiscent of the Flesh garden.
The millennium dome site feels a lot like the Buried but again has that strong Filth connotation and the creation of doubles, like the Stranger.
There were always overlaps and that was sort of a key point in TMA's eye ritual storyline - that the entities do cross over and share common ground. BUT, it feels a lot more pervasive in TMP and the shift towards alchemy and the ideal of 'balance' is also new.
And we also have a new categorisation system, instead of each statement being about one fear, the OIAR has 2 categorisation 'slots' per piece of evidence. And this has changed how the wiki works as well. So it's almost like the structure of the story (and we've seen this before with the conceit of narration becoming a crucial part of the world building and story and not just 'because it's a podcast') now supports the notation of multiple entities per statement.
Anyone else feel like the fears are more...conjoined than before?

I do think there's potential to analyzing rook's role in the web serial as one that's inherently anti-practitioner/anti-human, which is why we never see as much of her as we'd like, and why she never actually functions as a 'mentor' to the trio in the same way many of the other Kennet Others in leadership roles do.
In pre-arc 13 pale, she's explicitly in Kennet to help Miss with her project. This is probably the most involved she was with the trio, in terms of directly interacting and strategizing with them. They spoke and had meetings during the Musser invasion arcs, and of course Rook did have a base of operations in Kennet, but it was very much...the trio have their own plans and are doing their own thing, but touch base with the Kennet Others including Rook. A different vibe. Other than that, Rook is off in the greater region doing her own shit, and later mingles with the St. Victor's group to do their own shit. Whenever the goal isn't to Protect Kennet(tm), something that happens to align with the trio, she's off-screen, or in an uncertain and hazy narrative position, where her allegiance is called into question.
Some of this was probably narrative convenience, like having Rook out of the way and busy once Verona and Matthew needed to make a demesne claim because otherwise she would have had to delete them on principle, but I do think it's notable that like...after arc 17, or notably once the trio started to really take the reins on the Kennet Project and it became something much more appealing to practitioners (the markets and market deals, being a shelter for them) or even humans, prioritizing humans/denizens/foundlings when it came to which Others were allowed to live there, we see less of Rook. As Kennet becomes a practitioner project, with Miss finally defining herself within the system and settling in, it's not like Rook becomes an enemy, persay, but Kennet is no longer a cause she can really fight for.
Similarly, as much as Rook helps out tactically early on, the trio never really learn from her or learn her tricks and methods. She keeps information like her usage of Bridge and Bluntmunch from them. Part of this is because they are children, but I think a lot of it is also just...they're practitioners. Rook's practices and methods aren't for them.
Her methods are for Others, however, which is why arguably the clearest look we get into her tricks is when she visits the ghouls. The trio know she can remove traits from Others, sure, but with the ghouls she speaks in detail to Chloe about what she can provide for her to make her less Ghoul, how her Self is tied to the concept, and so on. It feels a lot more...I guess personal? Similarly with how she doesn't teach any of the trio members, but she does make Reggie a sort of pseudo-oni initiate.
She's seen speaking to the St. Victor's group, but given one of her tricks of being able to make the side she's on the 'losing one' (though imo it's left ambiguous whether she can manipulate that at will), there's an easily explainable reason for that. But it's also just as likely that she could have, in fact, been doing things that might have aided various Carmine Lords (who the St. Victor's group were doing jobs for) and weakened practitioners' abilities to re-establish power, with the St. Victor's group just happening to align with those goals.
This got a little rambly but the basic point is that I could easily see Rook being a character that would forever be inaccessible or always at an arm's length no matter what, so long as the PoV character was a practitioner or even human or even Other that supports the Seal. No matter how good or virtuous of a practitioner you might be, she's not there to help you. She's there for the Others, and regardless of her personal feelings, she'll stick to those principles no matter what.

1 in 5 People Could Have Long COVID - Published Nov 8, 2024
By Dennis Thompson
FRIDAY, Nov. 8, 2024 (HealthDay News) -- More than 1 in 5 Americans likely suffer from long COVID, a new AI-assisted review has found.
The analysis suggests that nearly 23% of U.S. adults experience the symptoms of long COVID, according to results published Nov. 8 in the journal Med.
That’s much higher than the 7% prevalence of long COVID that’s been suggested by other studies, researchers said.
“Questions about the true burden of long COVID -- questions that have thus far remained elusive -- now seem more within reach,” said senior researcher Hossein Estiri, head of AI research at Mass General Brigham in Boston.
For the study, researchers developed an AI tool that can sift through mounds of electronic health records looking for the frequently subtle symptoms related to long COVID.
These symptoms can occur in a wide range of body systems, and include fatigue, chronic cough, heart problems and “brain fog.” They typically develop weeks or months after a person shakes off their initial COVID-19 infection.
“Our AI tool could turn a foggy diagnostic process into something sharp and focused, giving clinicians the power to make sense of a challenging condition,” Estiri said in a Mass General news release.
The AI specifically looks for symptoms that can’t be explained by a person’s medical history, have persisted for two months or longer and occur following a COVID infection, researchers said.
For example, the AI can detect if shortness of breath might be explained by pre-existing heart failure or asthma, rather than long COVID.
“Physicians are often faced with having to wade through a tangled web of symptoms and medical histories, unsure of which threads to pull, while balancing busy caseloads. Having a tool powered by AI that can methodically do it for them could be a game-changer,” said lead researcher Dr. Alaleh Azhir, an internal medicine resident at Brigham and Women’s.
Based on these parameters, the AI estimated that nearly 23% of Americans likely have long COVID, a figure that researchers argue aligns more closely with national trends.
The researchers plan to release the AI publicly on open access, so doctors and health care systems can employ and test it.

Gonna spitball a few notes on a few different powers. I'm more stranger aligned (I like anonymity) but kinda have the whole mary key/lietner/salesa/breekon and hope "will work with any power" thing going on.
I think a lot of people badly misunderstand the flesh. They see it as being meat, body horror, and transgenderism metaphor and miss the actual substance linking it all together. I mean, it is those things (though corruption and slaughter are as much body horror as it is), but those aren't its base. The flesh is a fear of objectification and consumption. Of being reduced to just your meat. It is the fear of livestock sent to slaughter, but it specifically emerged at the apex of workers being mistreated under capitalism. Upton Sinclairs' original message in "The Jungle" wasn't "your meat industry is gross" it's "what's really going into your meat is worker mutilation, because fundamentally the boss sees you as interchangeable and disposable". The flesh is about existing as something for others to consume. On a practical level, it gets cannibalism and famine (both fears relating to consumption). But the body dysmorphia angle happens because fundamentally obsessing over self-percieved imperfections is a very reductive, objectifying way to think about one's self. Concerns over bodily perfection are often social, and rooted in making yourself more consumable.
People often dunk on the web having such a strong spider theme, but it makes sense if you think about it for five seconds. Even ignoring the fact that mythologically the fates were often seen as spinsters and weavers, animal fears count too. There are far more insects afraid of spiders as things that create invisible, ensnaring threads then there are humans who find them to be gross little bugs.
I find myself interested in a lot of hypothetical or fanon fears. I love the idea of The Dull created by a different TMA blogger on this site. I also remember really liking a fan theory I read that the combo slaughter/filth fear the web mentioned was an archaic fear of "things that can cause your town to vanish overnight" (and possibly a precursor to to extinction). If I may, I would like to place my own fanon fear here, because I have nowhere else to place it. Feel free to ignore it if you want. I call it the Temptation, or Moral Panic, or Catholic Guilt the fear. It's a medieval fear probably waning in power when smirk made his list of 14 (hence how he missed it). It is the fear that you, personally, are evil. That your soul is tainted with sin, that you have ruined your own karma, that there is just something metaphysical bad about you. Falls from grace, fatal flaws, learning that you are compleatly capable of hurting someone you love for selfish reasons. Its aesthetic is Gothic and religous horror, all demons and judging stone angels and vampires beckoning for you to come have a sip. It started to lose power once the fear shifted from an idea of evil as a personal flaw that stained your soul to evil as culpability in systems too big for you to meaningfully oppose (which is more vast/web). Although I also think we have seen two domains of the temptation in the eyepocalpse.
I also have a lot of thoughts about the vast but that can be a different post. This one is long enough.
I fully agree with you, especially on the topic of the flesh. People interpret all the fears differently so it’s good to hear as many opinions as possible, and I really like your take on it, as well as the others. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on some of the fears, it really is appreciated
