Sign-up for The Jensen Ackles Chronicles opens on August 15th!

Tumblr media
“Fanfiction isn’t real writing.”
“Why don’t you read a real book?”
“You’re not a teenager, you can’t write fanfic!”
“You’re too old for fandom.”
Weve all seen posts like these and rolled our eyes. We’ve each had someone hurtfully guffaw at our hobby. Times when we’ve been embarrassed to tell people what we’re doing when the screens are on and the keys are clicking.
Well, no more. It’s time to stand up for our craft and our age!
Get ready to join a writing contest that not only encourages “older” fanfiction authors, but downright has an age gate! That's right- you must be over 30 to join in on the fun!
Why 30? Because 29 7/8th sounded dumb.
The Storytellers Contest is a new idea, a new challenge, a new way to show off your skills and prove to the youths that age is but a number and things only get better with time. To participate, all authors, artists, and judges must be at least thirty years of age prior to the opening of registration. And what’s more? The characters must be over thirty as well. That’s right. In for a penny...
Each round of The Storytellers Contest will focus on a single actor and any eligible aged characters that they have portrayed. The stories will be gripping and immersive, with impeccable grammar and spot-on characterization. They will be crafted with care and judged by a panel of specially selected fanfiction authors who, not only know the pain of writing, but are - you guessed it - over thirty.
Once the judges have spoken and the scores have been tabulated, winners will be announced, and prizes will be given out. Yes, prizes! Fandom-specific prizes! Amazing prizes valued at over $1,100! Well, OK, not that much, but they’ll still be really cool. And, everyone who participates will get a badge for their blog and bragging rights for life.
For the inaugural round of The Storytellers Contest, we have chosen the incredible actor, director, singer, and producer Jensen Ackles. You know him from Supernatural, you’re counting down the days till you see him in Countdown, and now you’re gonna win a prize for crafting an epic story around him!
Head on over to Storytellers Contest: The Jensen Ackles Chronicles to find out more.
We can’t wait to see you there!

Hiya, Trainers...! Lisia here, but I'm running the 2025 edition of Bulbagarden's annual Spring One-shot writing contest and wanted to tell you all about it! Though the contest is shipping-oriented, (queer)platonic relationships are completely welcomed as well! We have many categories to earn prizes in (including a Best LGBTQ+ Romance prize!), and all entries get a fancy forums badge and reviews on their work, so please consider checking the contest out with the link above!
The entry deadline is on April 10 and the deadline for posting entries is on May 15 -- we hope to see some entrants from our fellow Trainers here on Tumblr (including myself...!), so please mention I sent you if you'd like! LOL

100+ FOLLOWERS ART / WRITING DTYIS
D in DTYIS stands for Do this time rather than draw, because y'all can write instead if you'd like!
I'm hosting a little competition for my followers where you can either write or draw something based on one of the prompts I'll give. There will be at least one winner for the drawing category and one winner for the writing category - though I might add more winners depending on the number of entries. (Or if there are very few entries, I might do at least a small doodle or micro fic for each participant - this is really just me wanting to give back to my followers, and if I had the energy, I'd be drawing everyone something! But that won't be feasible if I get enough entries 😅)
Prizes:
Winners can either have me write something (something between 1000-1500 words) or draw something (a colored and shaded bust drawing). There are certain things I won't write or draw, but those can be discussed when the time comes.
Rules (any entries breaking these rules will be disqualified):
Must be following me (I will be checking)
No NSFW, mature-rated entries, or curse words (let's keep it family friendly please!)
Must be LoZ/LU content since this is an LoZ blog
Tag me so I can see it please
Must use at least one prompt from the list I'll provide (list the prompt(s) you used somewhere so I know for sure what it is)
Entries must be submitted (don't forget to tag me so I see your post) by August 1st! (As in, that is the last day you can submit entries to win. August 2nd onward, this contest will be closed.)
You can submit something to each category if you'd like, but I won't be doing double winners, so if you win one, you won't be winning the other.
Bonus:
If you draw or write something with one of my characters, you'll automatically get a small sketch or micro fic of your choice as a gift! I am absolutely not above bribing people to give my OCs attention.
If you'd like to draw one of my OCs, here are the permitted OCs for this contest:
Anyone from Boots' story
Stray Link or Crown Zelda
Anyone from the Midrule AU
My rules for drawing my characters can be found on the masterpost pinned to my page, but if you have any questions (about them or anything else), feel free to send me an ask!
Prompt list:
If you want to exchange a word for another synonym or something feel free, just stick to the spirit of the original prompt please!
Inside joke
"Promise me you won't get angry."
Dogpile
Carnival/fair
"That definitely looks... interesting."
Calm down
Pretend
Partner in crime
Debate
"That's not how that works."
Water/Lake/Ocean/Puddle/you get the idea
(Animal of your choice)
Thank you to everyone who's following me, I can't wait to see what you do!
