Marc being confronted with how loving yn is and starts to try causing a bad reaction with them because that's a fallback on what feels comfortable in comparison to being cared about by a person close to you that is okay to let himself be cared for and that is not trust worthy ..... or at least it's not a path that he has had experience in other than Layla it's not a place that feels safe in because he has not had that through so much of his life and why would let in something that could be gone and besides it's not like I deserve it , it's what he knows and the thought of it the case were is his worth having a care, love , kindness just too much to let him feel so he does what is going to protect him that and does how he knows best

Idk if this make sense I'm illiterate and probs could write this less repetitive and more eloquent and also with a not a run on sentence but I need to write this out and I will forget what I wanted to say

Warnings: Angst & fluff. Mentions of previous abuse (Wendy Spector) but doesn't go into detail. Typos - I am notoriously bad at catching them. Swearing.

A/N: I've used corvase's 'lovely little domestic prompts: “your mom is coming over today.” “tell her to bring fried rice or she’s not invited.” “you tell her, she’s your mom.” “but she likes you more!”' - and it ended up being a lot more angsty than I inteaded. I changed the prompt words a touch as well. Steven & Jake make a little appearance too.

You had been in the shower when your phone rang. It was on silent, as usual, but by chance the light caught Marc’s attention as he put the clean laundry away. 

The display read ‘Mum’. 

He swallowed, a flash of nerves hitting him for a second before he pushed them away. He could just wait it out, pretend he didn’t see it. 

The soft material of a pair of your fuzzy socks in his hand suddenly became much heavier; the cartoon duck on the side no longer looked friendly. There was a judgemental tone in its eyes.

 “Fuck you.” He narrowed his eyes and hissed at the cartoon, the absurdity enough to bring a small smile to his face.

Quickly, without giving himself too much time to really think about it, he grabbed your phone and answered the call. 

“Hello!” Your mum’s voice was like sunshine itself. 

“Hi, it’s-”

“Marc! Ah! How lovely to get you!” 

He grinned broadly, warmth bubbling up in his chest. She recognised his voice. Straight away she recognised his voice. 

“I was wondering if I could pop by today? I have a little something for you all.”

Your mother knew all three of them, but her first meeting with Marc had been almost five months after she had met Steven and Jake. 

It wasn’t that he hadn’t wanted to meet her, he did, it was just... difficult. Panic spiked up in his spine and made him sick whenever the arranged date to introduce himself grew close. 

His alters’ voices constantly in his ear. “She’s so lovely.” “You’ll get on well with her hermano.” “She’s nothing like-”

It hadn’t mattered. He had chickened out four times. The third when he was in the car with you outside of your mother’s house. He just couldn’t. Couldn’t. Had checked out and left it to Steven and Jake.

He would stay away for days, the worst being the second occasion when he didn’t front for nearly two weeks afterwards and had refused to speak to Jake or Steven. Even staying quiet when Steven had said he would let Jake grow a moustache if Marc didn’t say something. 

When Marc finally did front he had refused to talk about it. Point blank. Not to Steven, not to Jake, not to you. He knew that made it worse. 

It had caused more than one internal and external argument.  

You had tried to bring it up carefully, calmly, telling Marc that there was no need to rush, he hadn’t caused any offence, that he didn’t even need to meet your mother if he didn’t want to.

But instead of staying quiet, nodding, or any of the countless peaceful options Marc had gone into defensive mode. Unable to explain his fears even though you knew about Wendy, unable to accept your kindness and care and love when he was so sure he didn’t deserve it. He wanted your anger.  

“Oh, so you don’t want me to meet your Mom then?” 

His tone had taken you by surprise even before his words had registered. “Marc that’s...” you shook your head, playing back what you had said, checking for how your words could have been misunderstood. “I didn’t mean that, I-”

“Maybe you should think before you speak in future.”

“Marc-”

“She’s got Steven and Jake, guess I’m not as important as them?”

It had just escalated from there. Your tone and words grew more agitated despite your best intentions as he kept going and going. 

There had been something on the tip of his tongue, something nasty and untrue but based on your own securities. Something that was intended to hurt. He had begun to speak it, shout it, trying to push you in punishing him when everything shifted. 

It was the first time you had seen Jake forcibly front, spitting out a hiss of words obviously not aimed at you and breathing hard. 

“¡No te atrevas a decir eso!” Don’t you dare say that. 

He had sat on the settee, closed his eyes and crossed his arms. His legs were spread wide in an apparent guise of relaxation but you could see the tension thumping in his neck. 

After a moment to calm yourself you had sat down next to him, slowly, and leaving some space between your bodies. 

Jake had kept his eyes closed; his jaw clenched as he listened to Marc, but did not reply. After a few minutes he had taken your hand in his, pressed kisses to your fingers and knuckles tentatively before he opened his eyes. 

You had smiled weakly at him, your eyes glassy. “Is he okay?” 

Jake let out a humourless laugh. “He’s on the naughty step.” He moved closer, letting go of your hand to wrap his arms around you. “He’ll stay there until his manners improve.”  His voice was low in your ear, making you shiver, but you knew those words were more directed at Marc than to you. 

Marc had watched silently whenever Steven or Jake were with your mother. The ease of conversation, the joking, smiles, hugs, kisses on the cheek and small gifts. 

You had found him once, on a morning so early it should have been night, crouched down by the coffee table in your flat. His arms wrapped tightly around his legs as he stared at a small paper bag on the floor. 

Your mother was notorious for giving gifts, things that made her think of others. The previous day you and Steven had visited her for dinner. She had spoken animatedly about her day, a visit to Greenwich park and market before brandishing, a golden pin with the Eye of Horus engraved for Steven (who spoke animatedly and excitedly about the meaning behind it for a good ten minutes before worrying he was ‘going on a bit’, and then another fifteen when your mum shhhed him and eagerly asked him to continue.)

Champurradas for Jake, which you hadn’t heard of before, “Oh Jake and I were talking about them the other day, and I just so happened to see a stall with all sorts of food. I just had to get them for him.”  (You were eighty percent sure she had purposely looked for somewhere that sold them and had gone to Greenwich specifically with the goal in mind.) She had playfully smacked your hand when you had asked to try one, “Shhh! They’re for Jake! You’ll have to ask him if you want one.” You laughed. 

She had held out a small paper bag to Steven as you were leaving, “this is for Marc.” 

“Oh, you didn’t have-”

“Shhh,” your mother was the master of the ‘shhh’, “I wanted to. I love all of you very much.” She had kissed his cheek and pressed the bag into his warm hands.

You had told your mother briefly about Wendy after the second time Steven had visited instead of Marc, no details – as you felt it wasn’t your place. 

And now Marc sat staring at the keyring resting on top of the paper bag like it held the answer to the universe. 

It took you a moment to recognise the logo as the Chicago Bears and knew, for certain, that she definitely hadn’t found that in Greenwich market. 

He turned towards you suddenly at the creak of the floorboard under your feet, eyes red and shining. 

You froze, afraid that anything you did, anything you said would cause hurt. 

“Steven told her I’d confused my keys with our key for here.” His voice broke at the last word and you rushed forward, falling to your knees and wrapping yourself around him. “She, she remembered.” 

You had held him and kissed him and soothed him as his tears soaked into your pyjamas and finally, when you had coaxed him back into bed, hugged him tightly the whole night.

The keyring never left his keys. 

You had both visited your mother soon after that, Marc nervously gripping a large bouquet of flowers as you walked to the front door. He knuckles white under the tension. 

When your mother opened the door Marc had quickly blurted out, “here, I’m Marc, nice to meet you.” In a voice that sounded far younger than his age and thrusted the flowers towards her. 

Your mother didn’t even miss a beat, she had fawned over the flowers, ‘the nicest ones she had ever received’ and lavished attention on your boyfriend the entire day, kissing his cheek and hugging him tightly when you left. Saying nothing when he held onto her a little too tightly and for a few beats too long. 

You heard Marc laughing as you came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and padded down the hall to your bedroom. 

He was sitting on the bed, facing away from the door, holding your phone to his ear. A few items of clean clothes next to him, you couldn’t help but smile as you realised he had put the others away. You hadn’t asked him to, he had just done it knowing your intense dislike of the final part of the clothes washing process. 

Marc turned as you came in, giving you a little wave. “She’s just finished.” He spoke into the phone. “Your Mom!” He said to you. 

“Hi Mum!” You yelled, a little over the top. 

The muffled sound of your mother laughing and saying ‘hello love!’ filtered back. 

You opened your wardrobe, absentmindedly chewing on your bottom lip.

“She’s gonna come over later, she said she’d pick up Chinese on the way?” 

The questioning tone at the end of his sentence warmed your heart. You had told him countless times that your flat was his flat; but he still wanted to check things with you, protective of your space.

“Tell her to bring egg fried rice or she’s not invited.” You teased. 

Marc gave a mock gasp of shock and you could hear your mum laughing on the other end of the phone. 

“You tell her, she’s your Mom!” He grinned. 

You turned around, hands on your hips and pulled a silly face. “But she likes you more!”

hi moon knight fandom. I would appreciate some help!!!

this is @soonknight. bad news. unfortunately, my blog was terminated by tumblr earlier this week.

this means all of my curated and written fanfics, friends, and posts are gone. stupidly, none of my writings were backed up because I wrote most of them in the tumblr drafts in a depressed stupor while living in my parents' basement a couple years ago.

still, I'm devastated, and I never thought it would happen to me. I've been trying to contact tumblr support, but I don't have a ton of hope. to my knowledge, I didn't violate tos. I'm not sure what happened.

so please, I'd appreciate if some moon knight blogs could reblog this so I can find my buddies again, and if you have ANY of my work (fanfics, oneshots, headcanons, etc) please send it to me so I can repost it and archive it :')

Though I noticed another detail. The sound in the background is like a pendulum between shots.

1 is clearly annoyed, maybe a little angry even.

2 is obviously scared, he’s confused about what’s going on.

My theory here is that Jake and probably Marc were switching incredibly fast. I don’t have much knowledge about dissociative identity disorders aside from experiencing dissociation on occasion but I think this might be possible? (Considering it’s a tv show there is a chance they took some creative liberty here too)

Anyway idk if people noticed this yet but I had to share this thought somewhere.

What Happens to Matt Murdocks discarded white canes. I don't necessarily need to know what he does in terms of having a new one/getting it back, I just wanna know what happens to ones that are left behind.

In Moon Knight Episode 3, HOW did Marc Spector get his cubs hat back after it is very clearly shown to fall off while he's running across a rooftop. Tell me Marvel. Please. I'm desperate Marvel. Please Marvel.

Do you know what I love about moon knight? (Many things, yes but-)

The way that when Marc was questioning all of his sanity, questioning if he'd ever worked or ever met an egyptian god, questioning if everything that happened in the last decade was real, questioning everything he saw- He never questioned Steven. No Steven is there and he is real. They've been together since they are children, he survived because he knew he wasn't alone, he knew Steven is real, even if others probably have told him otherwise.

I think about that a lot.

And I want someone to love me as Marc loves Steven, a love so strong and real that against all odds, even if Steven being real sounds impossible Marc doesn't lose faith. Because a love that strong must be real

I've always been crazy about Moon Knight. Crazy about it since 2008. (I thought it was later but I just checked. Has it really been 17 years?!)

There's a few of us left. Mostly cool comic book reviewers and such (mad respect to those guys).

I'm finding the MCU fans are....fickle. But that was to be expected. There's a few out there still holding out hope.

Moon Knight trivia for your trouble!

Steven Grant is often seen as a fictive of Captain America in the comics by some fans. Considering Captain America's name is: Steven Grant Rogers. Considering Marc's parents came to America during WWII, they would have seen a LOT of propaganda and such about Captain America fighting Nazi. There were still in universe Captain America comics around the time Marc was born and he probably got his mitts on them.

If we go off Lemire, Steven Grant first showed up when Marc was very young and often 'came to Marc's room' to play. Marc, who was a huge nerd, probably collected the comics.

Since we don't know what the trauma was (I refuse to accept Bemis' rendition), it would be safe to assume that he would find comfort and maybe even safety in reading those comics.

And, since Steven Rogers is portrayed as 'perfect', he could see Steven Grant as being the perfect version of what he thinks he should have been.

Just a little fan theory to think about.

thinking about how bruce and jp/az manage to have the most insane father and son dynamic while also not considering each other father and son. like. just the number of parallels between the way jean paul (jr) sees jean paul(sr)/azrael and the way she sees bruce/batman is. mind blowing

and i did not mean for this to become a post about the secret third member of the system (HI @dustorange i did see your tags) (and before we go any further i am not a dissociative system but i am currently studying psychology in college and have done a lot of my own research) because i don’t feel like i have the best grasp of knightfall and want to reread it at least once b4 i analyze it BUT. we know that part of their programming is azrael being triggered into fronting when the visage of azrael is worn, i.e. when the mask of the armor is put on. and then we go to knightfall, and we see jp/az beginning to experience significant identity confusion/alteration, both between the two of them and between them and batman…a mantle given to them by a character who is a narrative parallel to the father that programmed them…who wears a mask……there are thoughts you can have here

this is not to say that jean paul and azrael are not responsible for the actions in knightfall because ooooh secret third guy did it not them so it’s fine right? nope! and this is where character analysis becomes difficult for me, because while jean paul and azrael (and azbats) are different, they arent always distinct due to the ways dissociative disorders function. that’s part of the identity confusion/alteration piece of complex dissociation (e.g. being blurry, being unsure of who you are, co-consciousness, passive influence, etc). not to mention system accountability—it doesn’t matter if it wasn’t jp or az who did it, it still happened, and they still have to deal with the ramifications of it. 

in addition, even if they were the only two alters pre-sword of azrael (1992), it is entirely likely that jean paul and azrael were experiencing enough distress to cause a split. their father died. jean paul discovered she had actually been under the control of a cult her entire life. two decades of programming were activated. they left the cult that had been controlling them the entire time and they no longer attended college (remember jean paul was at university at the beginning of soa 92). that is multiple traumas followed by huge changes to structure and routine, not to mention the episode of psychosis. splits occur due to stress, and splits also might reflect the trauma/distress at their source.

so when you take all of that with the fact that jean paul and azrael were suddenly without a father, without a mantle, without a cause, without a mask, and then look at azbats. 2 + 2 = 4

Fan theories that I like that are just WAY TOO SAD to be canon from different fandoms I'm in.

Like is a strong word, maybe interest me? Peak the morbid part of my brain? Anyways he's some fan theories from different fandoms I'm in.

Last one left standing theory

This is a theory I saw a while ago on here. The theory basically said that What if all of the TSAMS and LAES has already happened and the videos we are watching are just recordings made by Sun trying to make himself feel better and still bring joy to people even after all his family are gone. Basically, Lunar, Moon, Earth, Solar, Dazzle, Jack, Monty, all gone. Either all died or moved away or moved on in Dazzle's case. And now Sun is the last Celestial left standing and, in his sadness, decided to upload the videos online to make himself feel better to make it feel like they're still here. When in reality, it's just Sun. All alone.

Batman accidentally killed Harley's baby.

So, this is a pretty dark one. So, in Batman Arkham city near the beginning of the game, Batman walks into the church where Joker is supposedly when Batman walks in there. Harley jumps out from behind an army of guys with guns and tries to attack Batman, but as Batman, you grab Harley's leg, throw her, and slam her and her stomach into a wall. Harley walks it off like everything is fine and leaves the goons to watch Batman while she goes back to Joker.

Later, after you escape the church and make your way through Joker's fun house after the boss fight with Hammer you can find a baby crib with a positive pregnancy test on the floor. Harley is pregnant with the Joker's child.

After you beat the game, and if you have the Harley Quinn's revenge DLC, you play as Robin trying to rescue Batman, who's been captured by Harley. As Robin, you can find that same room where you found the crib and the positive test from the base game, but this time, it's... different. In the crib is a puppet of a child Joker with the positive test in the crib while scattered around the room is dozen upon dozens of negative tests. And while the box warns of the possibility of false positives, some fans myself included have come to a darker conclusion.

(Now, while I don't believe Batman is responsible for the child's death, I have a different theory on that this theory is decently popular in the Arkham fandom)

Theory basically says when Batman threw Harley into the wall, it caused her to miscarry.

This theory is super messed up! Not only does it mean Batman unknowingly broke his one rule (no killing), Harley lost her child, that's... this theory is all around sad. But at least in Batman Arkham Knight, it's hinted Harley is pregnant again.

Literally any "is in a coma/is all a dream theory"

Pokémon, Ben 10, Adventure Time all have the infamous "The main character is in a coma/everything is a dream" theory. Look, I think theories like this. They're neat.

If not slightly morbid and kind of a let down

But imagine if you spent years/decades enjoying this wonderful/crazy world only for it to be revealed, it was all fake! An illusion made in the mind of the bedridden main character.

No thank you. Interesting theory. I like it but please no.

Text from top left to top right, in typical English reading fashion in case you can’t read my poor hand writing:

Khonshu or Khonsu is typically depicted with a falcon head (aside from the human depiction, I mean). Most likely a Lanner falcon in original depiction (or possibly a peregrine falcon…).

However, the Marvel depiction of the moon god is clearly not a falcon at all. Beak is far too long, eyes too big and further up the head. I don’t believe Khonshu matches any bird exactly; as his skull is over exaggerates proportions (I assume to convey as much emotion as it can).

(Poor example of what he’d possibly look like with feathers.) But I believe the closest match would be a carrion crow (ironic considering how he met Marc). A carrion crow skull has many features in common with Marvel’s depiction of the moon god.
