Hello! I am the tumblr anon who keeps getting you stuff from your wishlists. i was having a horrid day, went to your throne selfishly to see if you had anything that would cheer me up, then realized that i couldn't think of anything to buy for myself that i wanted, so i settled on buying stuff for an internet stranger that they wanted, hoping that at least that might make things in the world somewhat brighter. hope it worked!

i was actually going to post about my throne wishlist ONCE AGAIN getting cleared out, because my stuff got here

and while throne alerted me to the fact that i would soon be receiving many novelty beverages to drink while listening to a podcast about alex jones, i did NOT realize there were also AMAZON WISHLIST ITEMS

so now my desk at work finally has a matching pink cat paw mousepad, and i have a little cold roller for my aching feets, and a special serum distributor to distribute serums on my scalp. i don't actually have any serums right now so i cannot review it but now that i have a special thing i'm gonna invest in some serums.

here are my reviews thus far of NOVELTY BEVERAGES, which you did not ask for but i'm doing it anyway

so i added an olipop sampler to my throne wishlist because i was intrigued but wary. they have a health angle and stevia so it seemed like it would taste bad. but i liked their design and also i didn't mind the stevia in that apple pie tea, so i thought maybe i got over my stevia thing

olipop cream soda: this was a bad one to try first because the flavor profile of a traditional cream soda is mostly sugar. it's just vanilla sugar, carbonated. so a sugar-free version is very stevia-forward. there's not enough other flavor to overpower the weird mouthfeel. i can drink it but it needs to be chilled and sipped in small amounts, maybe in a fancy glass.

olipop root beer: tbh i may have been wrong about the cream soda because this one also had weird overpowering Something flavor. i assume it's the stevia but maybe it's their proprietary blend of plant fibers, which is a weird thing to flex about your soda having. as a sarsaparilla and birch beer enjoyer, i like more bite than a standard root beer, and this has less. you'd think with their branding they'd be able to really lean hard on MEDICINAL ROOT FLAVORS but instead they chickened out and made it so mild it's barely different from the cream soda.

i haven't tried the other olipop flavors yet, but will report back with my findings

i also got a wild bill's craft soda sampler because. it looked good. and i was right. also now they keep sending me emails like YEEHAW PARDNER THANKS FOR BUYING OUR PRODUCT HOWDY GIDDY UP

wild bill's strawberry cream soda: it's so good. you can tell it's bad for you. the strawberry flavor is powerful and candy-like. it's like one of those crunchy grandma strawberry hard candies, in drink form.

wild bill's rocket pop soda: literally tastes like a melted popsicle got carbonated. it's everything i dreamed. i cannot possible afford to drink this regularly but i want to.

i haven't tried grape or orange cream yet but i'm guessing they'll be good. their website says they have a ring pop flavor now and i wanna try it so bad.

i'm also very excited to try the hot cocoa when it gets here, and to have more of the tasty beef jerky :3

WISHLIST IT PLZ!

Water Ripplez:

I've been playing DMC3 lately, and I noticed some of the enemies in that game pop out of the ground with this warble effect that makes it look as though the ground beneath them in distorting. I asked some fellow devs about how that might've been done and eventually landed on a specific method.

The first step was to go into blender and create this little waves/ripple model and bake it onto a flat plane to get the normal map. If you don't know what a normal map is, it is a 2d texture that tells light what direction it should bounce off it in order to give the illusion of depth. Look them up they are cool.

The next thing I did was make a circular model and align the UVs so that scrolling it downwards would make it look as though the waves were traveling outwards from the center.

Then I brought that model and the normal map into unity and set up this refraction shader. dw about it.

And finally it all came together to become a little ground distortion. Wow, i'm so proud of it. Not proud as in im proud of making it, but proud of it as if it were my son.

Bubblez:

I decided to add in lil bubbles(z) that you can jump into and they pop which launches you up. They've turned out to be really helpful for bridging gaps in level design, and they were easy af to make. Not much to say about them besides I hope they r fun and I'll be adding cool pop particles to them later.

Doctor Spider:

The first thing I did when getting back on this project after my big October break was finish up Doctor Spider.

He is the second target in the desert nightclub area, and he lives up this big ass dome. You gotta bring him some blood wine to draw him out and then shoot him with ur gun. He sucks.

Conclusion:

HYPERSOMNIA JANUARY DEV LOG : "LOG 1, WOOHOO!"

Hi! For all of you who follow HYPERSOMNIA, or are just stopping by, let me introduce you to this post to really set the tone.

For 2024, I am going to try to release a dev log about HYPERSOMNIA once a month, may come earlier, may come a little late, but I'm doing this to help give insight on to how the game is going, and to give me motivation to work on the game.

First things first, big news!

HYPERSOMNIA IS NOW AVAILABLE TO WISHLIST ON STEAM! (LINK)

After a while of back and forwarding with Valve, I've finally got a Steam page to call my own, and MAN is it bizarre seeing my weird little RPG in my Steam library. Like, that's my logo, and my key art, and screenshots of MY game, that's so weird. It doesn't feel real. BUT IT IS!

And, I would really really really really really appreciate it if you would consider wishlisting the game on Steam. It helps with the algorithm, and my happiness because I like seeing numbers go up, it feels good.

I even drew this as a announcement/commemoration for the page going live.

(P.S; if you couldn't tell, I really like Half-Life, it's one of my favorite game series.)

Secondly...

A new trailer is in the works! We were accepted for this year's MOTHER Direct (4th time baby, whoo!)

The trailer has been coming along well, I hope to show more battle oriented clips that I've missed the last few years, like special moves.

Can you believe I've never actually gotten to adding those in the game? I mean, they come set-up in default RPG Maker projects but I've never gotten around to revamping them until now, year 4 of engine work. Isn't that strange?

I also hope to improve on editing in the trailers. Whenever I finish a trailer I come back a few months later to notice minor points where I was kinda sloppy.

I'm not much of a video editor, (I only learned so I could edit trailers on my own) but I'd like to keep them at a good presentable quality. You gotta have standards with that kinda stuff, it's important!

OK, TIME FOR THE ACTUAL GAME STUFF. HERE WE GO.

Abilities are now implemented! And work! Wahoo!

In HYPERSOMNIA, players are able to switch abilities between party members. I find this a really interesting mechanic for how simple it seems, you get to choose who plays what role in your party. I think this is HUGE, and opens up a lot of unique scenarios for the game's encounters. I've had this planned for years, as far back as 2021 if I can recall, so it's super cool seeing it in game.

Mapping is being worked on!

I've also been working on mapping out more areas of the game! The forest part you hopefully saw in the last trailer is almost completely mapped. I've been working on the second part to it and am hoping to finish it sometime soon.

Mapping forests really suck. THOUGH, almost all the maps for the first chapter of the game are done! That's just another step closer to the demo. (Which, FYI, will be on Steam and Itch! ^^)

I've also been working on re-spriting older scenes!

This one's been really fun to do, I've been going back and redoing older stuff from the 2022 trailer, like this train! It's weird seeing it side by side, because you can definitely see where it's come from but at the same time, it looks so different.

(Also side note, these sprites are CRUSTY! EWWW!)

Lastly, Script and Music updates!

The script for HYPERSOMNIA's first act has been completed! with just 37 pages of just cutscene dialog alone! We're also currently working on wrapping up NPC dialog! Not much else to say.

And music is being worked on!

Music has been making some progress! I like to lay out demo's for areas I'm mapping out to help make both the music and scene come together. (Also, to help break up the eerie silence when playtesting...)

Speaking of music, FIREBALL, the games main battle theme, was recently delisted on our YouTube channel.

We did this because we decided we wanted to resample FIREBALL, and found that it's best to not have the song uploaded until a complete, final version is made. At least for the demo, it could possibly change before the final game but that's a bit too far in the future for me to think about fully.

The bar was crowded, packed with drunkards, lone people and those that got into the Christmas spirit a bit too late. Her tired eyes took in her surroundings, the decorations hung up on the walls, trying to drown out the sound of the Christmas playlist ringing in her ears. She was fostering another drink, hoping to pass the time till the road would be opened up again.

“I’ll be home for Christmas, fuck, I will be.” (Y/n) murmured the words before she took another sip, eyes taking in the faces of those near and far. And yet her gaze got stuck on a face she had seen one too many times before, the freckled cheeks, the plush lips and the forest green eyes that were staring right back at her. Fuck, if there was one thing she had wanted to avoid it was running into Dean Winchester, especially on Christmas Eve. 

The hunter pushed himself through the crowd, eyes not leaving her frame once - stuck on the prey he was about to tear to shreds, at least he’d try to. Anger thumped through her veins, an emotion so biting, (y/n) feared she’d pass out any moment now, too caught up on the hatred she felt, forgetting how to suck in the sharp breaths. Dean’s smirk began to widen with every step he took, coming to a halt in front of her table, seemingly allowing himself to take in her frame. 

“Well, would you look at that. Seems like Santa finally got my wishlist, and yet, even on Christmas Eve missy can’t seem to smile at me.” Dean’s teasing forced her to bite down on her tongue, not wanting to start another fight with the older Winchester brother, at least not in a crowded bar filled with nosy bystanders. With another eye-roll sent his way, (y/n) drowned her drink, trying to run from the man before she could snap.

“Have a good evening, Dean.” And yet, before she could even try to push past his broad frame, Sam entered her vision, smiling at her. A wave of relief flushed through (y/n) as she met the eyes of the younger Winchester brother, opening her arms to properly greet the one she had always enjoyed being around. Sam murmured his greeting against her forehead, relishing in her touch, “What are you doing here on Christmas, (y/n)? Why aren’t you back home?”

“The road is blocked, I was forced to stop here in hopes that they’ll solve it overnight, but it seems like today isn’t my lucky day.” She couldn’t help but let her gaze flicker towards Dean, adding more spite to the words she spoke.

(Y/n) barely remembered the first time she met the brothers, the hunters she had always admired, at least till she got to know them. From the first moment on she and Dean had hated one another, trying to take out one another’s ideas, hoping to push them into waves of misery they’d drown in. It had always been different with Sam though, a bond had instantly formed between her and him, allowing (y/n) to stay with the two of them every now and then, even joining the brothers on hunts whenever she got bored of being on her own. 

“Well, we’ve got to make the most out of it. Do you want another drink?” Sam squeezed her hand before he took a step back, not waiting for her reply, assuming that she’d want to spend some more time with them. All (y/n) could do was watch the tall man move towards the bar, leaving her alone with Dean once again.

“It’s pathetic how much you adore him.” Dean’s voice dripped with something she couldn’t pinpoint, it wasn’t anger, he wasn’t even teasing her. For just a moment (y/n) wondered if he was jealous, driven by the green emotion she detested more than the supernatural creatures she’d cross paths with. Her heart skipped a beat at the mere thought of Dean feeling more for her than anger, a thought (y/n) tried to push away as soon as she noticed what her beating muscle was doing. There had always been some tension between the two of them that rooted far deeper than their hate, a tension that drove her to imagining her body pressed against his; a tension that left her wondering how his lips would feel pushed against hers. 

“No need to be jealous, Dean.” The angry huff of air that clawed through him did its job to satisfy (y/n), allowing a grin to widen on her lips. “We both know you think of me when you’re lonely.” 

Before she could even process what was going on, Dean had grasped her forearm, pulling her closer till she felt his breath fanning over her skin. His green eyes were twinkling, projecting the emotions he was dealing with, a mixture so confusing Dean would lose his way in the storm he was fighting through, left to survive the cold whispers wrapping themselves around him, harder to endure than any creature taunting his restless nights. 

“I hoped that you’ve grow out of your bratty phase, but it seems like somebody should teach you a lesson, sweetheart.” He spat the last word, adding more strength to every vowel rolling off his tongue like a spell he’d speak to damn the ones wanting to hurt him. With her breath hitched in her chest, her gaze flickered down to his lips, just for a second, though a second too long, so Dean could easily follow her line of sight. “There’s no need for me to be jealous when I know you are the one begging for my attention.”

Dean let go of her seconds before Sam reappeared with another beer for them, oblivious to the spiteful words the two have just shared. The tall brother started asking (y/n) about her past months, wanting to hear every detail of the hunts she went on alone, the creatures she had been going against and the people she crossed paths with. And yet (y/n) barely focused her attention onto Sam, speaking to him without overthinking the details she was sharing, still hooked on the thought of Dean being jealous. Perhaps he was struggling with the same inner fight, torn between hate and attraction, unsure how to go about the emotions directing his every move. 

“I think I’ll call it a night, it was good to see you, Sammy.” (Y/n) gave into the need to rip herself free, no longer able to stick around, not with Dean’s gaze burning into her skin, leaving its invisible marks. She needed to run before she would do something she’d regret in the morning, having to focus on her way home, the goal of spending Christmas with the loved ones waiting for her arrival. With one last hug shared with him, (y/n) made her way out into the cold night, instantly wrapping her arms around herself. 

Fuck, why did Dean have to be such an asshole? Their life together could have been perfect, worthy of the fights they’d push through, something both could cherish, and yet the chance of turning their feelings into something good had been ripped from their hands by their anger, their anxiety and their confusion. Life with Dean Winchester by her side could have been perfect, a mere dream she drowned in late at night when she felt lonelier than in the past months. 

“Why do you always have to run from me?” His gruff voice forced her to a halt, front turned from him as she was staring ahead. Heat rose in her system, threatening to burn her surroundings to the ground with its strength, unsure how she should react to Dean’s words. “And don’t you dare lie to me.” 

“I,” (y/n) turned towards him, taking in his tall frame, how he pressed his arms to his sides as if he was holding himself back from reaching for her. “What are you doing, Dean? Just leave me alone.” 

She tried to walk away once again, and yet she didn’t get far, stopped by the hand reaching for her wrist, “You always run from me as if you can’t even stand to be in the same room as me. But we both know that you don’t hate me.” 

Their eyes met like magnets forced to unite, getting lost in the strength keeping them bound together. Dean’s free hand cupped her cheek, not giving her a chance to look away, hoping that their bond wouldn’t snap like a threat about to wear thin, “If I didn’t know it any better, I may actually think that you are in love with me.” 

Her mouth felt too dry to speak, to reply to his whispers with spiteful words burning on the tip of her tongue - an instinct rather than truthful words she wanted to speak. She felt her heart beating faster and faster, accelerating the speed of its beats as if she was running from the darkness threatening to pull her in. But there was no need to run, not from Dean Winchester, the man she had sworn to hate and yet simply couldn’t. 

“What do you want from me, Dean? Whatever you want me to say, it wouldn’t change a thing.” It felt as if her words gave him the push he had been desperately waiting for, lips meeting (y/n)’s with more force than she had anticipated. For a second she stumbled backwards, pulled closer by his strong grasp, not daring to let her part from him. The kiss was anything but slow, anything but loving, and yet it was full of emotions, a mixture so lethal (y/n) could only hope she’d survive this very night. 

“It changes everything.” Dean murmured his reply against her lips, forehead pressed against hers to allow themselves to keep on breathing. “Give me this night, just this one night.” He didn’t wait for her reply as Dean pushed himself away from her, he interlaced their fingers and kept pulling her ahead, eyes set on Baby. 

No words were spoken as he started driving, eyes finding hers every now and then, caught in the lust pumping through their veins, heightening their senses. His knuckles grew white, trying to keep his focus on the road as he felt (y/n)’s hand finding his knee, wandering up his thigh. Their eyes met, allowing Dean to focus on the smirk tugging on her lips, widening with every shaking inhale of breath Dean sucked into his lungs.

This was a clear act of payback, set on making Dean suffer.

“Sweetheart,” he was shushed by the “Let me” rolling off her tongue, trying to stare ahead. With quick moves she undid his trousers, pulling his hardening cock free. Dean had lived many lives, had survived a few death calls, and yet, he knew that whatever was about to happen could send him to grave, an end he’d welcome with open arms. Heat flushed through his body, filling every pore like lava threatening to burn his skin. 

“Are you that desperate? Can’t even sit still and wait till, fuck,” once again his rambling was cut short by her movements, she leaned over the console, steadying herself as she parted her lips. She greedily swallowed his cock, sucking on his tip as if she perfectly knew how to please the hunter. 05 | Episode 22 - Hug & Battle Couple A forehead kiss has been on my wishlist for a while now, so the scene in Lucy's apartment was naturally going to end up on this list. It was the perfect parallel to their hug in Tim's living room, but with the added bonus that this time, they were in a relationship : Lucy didn't have to ask for anything, Tim just knew instinctively what she needed and the way he engulfed her, shielding her from the world, and kissed her head made this scene even better. As for that second scene, I have a weakness for the Battle Couple trope and these two do that so well (and not that often unfortunately). Their banter at the beginning and the 'you know me so well' callback were so good already. But once you add how Tim was ready to stay behind and sacrifice himself to give Lucy a chance to get to safety, how she straight up refused and he didn't protest, how she played the role of the strategist and he simply followed her lead, how they were taking turns protecting each other… and this scene became one of my all-time favourite.

04 | Episode 12 - Tim giving up patrol The way these two didn't even consider breaking up as an option and instead, immediately agreed to prioritise the other over their career says everything about how serious this relationship is to them. We didn't need to hear Tim's confirmation to know it - even though it was a great bonus. Still, for Tim to just go to Grey's office and give up patrol without a second thought, was monumental. Especially considering how he used to refuse to move up the ladder because he loved patrol so much. And especially considering how his last two girlfriends wanted him to leave his job behind without truly asking him for his input in the first place. But here, he didn't hesitate. Just like he didn't hesitate to reject a promotion when Lucy was still his rookie. He actually didn't even ask or care what his new job would be : the only thing that mattered to him was to be with her and make sure she wouldn't be the one having to sacrifice her career by being transfered in a new station where she'd have to prove herself all over again. And don't get me started on the following scene in her apartment... If I start, I won't stop.

03 | Episode 10 - Getting ready to their date The montage for this scene was phenomenal. Between all those callbacks to Lucy's iconic dresses (and moments), Tim's beaming smile while remembering the green dress, the fact that he called her because he was getting nervous and she's his safe space and the banter that was quintessential Chenford, it was simply perfect. They looked so giddy when they were on the phone, their joy so palpable, that we could feel how freeing it was for them to start this new relationship. No more pretending, no more hiding. Bonus moment : their second first date. It was soft, truer to who they are… And while there was still a shyness present, they looked more at peace too. Not to mention Tim's hand on her thigh, that very soft kiss or Lucy's joke about their grandchildren. They both looked relieved to be on the same page, to know that they're both all-in, that they both want the same things. And judging by Tim's smile, it was absolutely liberating.

02 | Episode 08 - Unless it is… I can't express how much I love this moment. Tim trying to make sure Lucy didn't settle and help her process things out… Lucy blurting her feelings out because she finally caught on to them and she couldn't contain them any longer… Both of them gently calling the other out on their respective safe relationships… Lucy taking the first step before backtracking and Tim taking a leap of faith… The most important relationship in my life… It's not worth the risk - Unless it is… Their bashful smiles at the end, the relief on Tim's face before he started beaming and glowing… But most of all (and I know that might be unpopular), I love how soft it was. How this 'confession' wasn't made in a rush or in a middle of a fight/dire situation. It was mature and healthy. And it was exactly what they needed (in my opinion) after their 'almost hookup' in the first episode. They needed to be both in the moment, to fully consider whether it was worth the risk. To talk together like they've always been able to do in the past. This whole episode felt like some kind of reset, of getting back to their foundations after several months of misunderstanding and questioning whether it was just biology, the rush of the moment or real. So after Vegas and all the guilt and doubts, they deserved that softness, that steadiness.

01 | Episode 01 - Tim grabbing Lucy's hand Speaking of steadiness… This is such a short moment in an episode full of great ones but it's so raw and perfect. Tim's gesture was so instinctual : they both just found out about Rosalind's escape and that was the first thing Tim did. Anchor Lucy. Ground her to the present and give her as much comfort as he could. Be her lifeline. But also reassure himself that she was there with him, alive and safe (all things considered). He might not have been able to immediately hug her the way he did in Day of Death, but this was as good. And it elevated the following scene in the bathroom plane, with him providing her a safe space… And THAT KISS. With her grabbing him and taking comfort in his presence and steadfastness… And that kiss!

Bonus : . Tim acknowledging Lucy's audiobooks and how she was instrumental in helping him score this high in the sergeant's exam . Lucy running to the hospital and staying by his side despite the awkwardness at the time between them

Much excitement at our little rescue this month and I can't wait to tell you.

Thanks to my income tax check coming in our fundraising goal for between now and May 1st is only $768.00

The rescues regular bills like; utilities ($280 on average since our HVAC is still out, but we are hoping someone is coming to fix it soon), and pet foods ($488). I have managed to raise enough to cover the other bills and supplies from my income tax check. And of course, none of this is for me personally nor do I get paid for the work I do. It's not about me, it's about these animals and making their lives amazing for however long they have left.

We still need fence panels for an outdoor dog kennel yard if anyone has any locally they'd like to drop off. And if you are throwing out any 13 gallon kitchen trash cans or plastic bins of any size we would be thrilled to have them.

We currently have 11 ferrets in amazing foster homes so our population here is becoming very manageable for me AND we have 4 new volunteers!!!!! We are so happy to welcome Michael, his wife, and his mom to our team. They will be coming soon to help me get things back to tip top shape and I greatly appreciate it.

And an amazing girl named Michal who came yesterday and spent the day helping me. The ferrets were crazy about her and you know Keiko was too. The bunnies warmed right up to her but they are very friendly girls. Mr Maru gave her the tour till his house was finished then he had to go see what I had done and grab snacks. Cal the sugar glider, slept through it all. But what delighted me most was Mr. Spooky. Our shy, bite first ask questions later guy, went right to her and cuddled her. WOW He is still having a hard time with Justin not being here. Ferrets grieve just like us and he was really close to his dad the Ferret King. He gave me kisses and now this. It makes me so excited and emotional for him.

There was a minor set back for me medically as I have a new allergy, possibly to Stevia. Of course I try to do something good for my health and now I look like I have rolled in bees. If you don't know, this is not a surprise. Lol But I got some medicine for the hives and hopefully will be feeling much better very soon. Until then if you see me dancing against the doorway like a bear, just walk away. 😂

I'm through infusion 3 of 8. YAY! And I have a surgery consultation coming up finally so I am hopeful that it goes well and we can get a date for surgery. 🤞

I have a potential part time job as a virtual assistant and I am truly excited about that. And we are looking at setting up the trailer for a rental so that I can generate a little income and start paying off old debt and getting back on my feet again.

The three month anniversary of losing Justin was really hard on me but I want to thank everyone for their abounding kindness and support. Some days you and these rescue babies are all that gets me through to the next day. I am so grateful to have you in my life.

Monthly Update (April 2024)

Hello everyone, it's Chattercap!

I apologize for the slightly late April devlog, but I was in a bit of a daze after the MindMindMind release! Wow, March went by in a flash for me! Let's get down to it!

I released not one, but TWO games this month! (If you missed them, you can find the links in my pinned!)

Kanau

I spent the first part of the month programming and ironing out the Kanau release. I added mini CGs to my VN framework and also added the ability to rename your save files. After that, it was full steam ahead with actually implementing everything - all of the art, BGM, SFX, VA, and GUI, including updating the gallery. I also set up the itch page and put together some social media announcements. Since the content warnings were pretty stark with this one, I also added a trigger warning screen. After that, I had the game beta tested, and it was released by the 8th!

After that I…took a few days break, haha! (I should have gotten straight to work on MMM, but alas, I always enter some kind of trance right after a game release!)

MindMindMind

For the first part of the month, I was mainly scripting as I needed to get the script done for the VAs as quickly as possible. MMM was my QUICKEST script to date, as I finished 20k words in less than 10 days, wow! (I think that the relatively simplistic prose, with a heavy emphasis on dialogue, helped a lot.) During that time I also reviewed the MMM voice acting auditions and made my selections; in addition, I made the promo artwork and reached out to someone for background photos.

After I was out of my post Kanau-release trance, I immediately started work on the sprites! Kalei's sprite was easy to finish, although Geist's sprite took a bit of time (I kept messing up his face…). I also finished all of the backgrounds and then started work on the CGs; I managed to finish one CG per day! While I was doing that, I also cleaned and adjusted the VA samples. On the final week of the month, I animated all of the art and then basically did the same things for MMM that I did for Kanau - adding all of the art, sound, and GUI, making the itch page, updating the gallery. I also put together a walkthrough and implemented name and pronoun selection. I managed to get MMM ready for beta-testing by the 25th, and I spent the rest of the time prepping VA announcements and putting together the artbook! MMM was released on the 29th!

Other

With new game releases comes a myriad of little tasks! I submitted both Kanau and MMM to IMDB and updated my carrd, Tumblr, Twitter, and patreon. I also added MMM to Steam! (It's here! You can wishlist it if you want; I'll probably upload it there fairly soon.)

And then…after MindMindMind I entered my post-game release coma again. I think I did a few things (started sketching the Hanasu cover art and an updated art for Actala, started a commission for an updated Actala logo, and continued writing the Hanasu script, but I'll be honest I've been in a bit of a daze…)

I'm really blown away with the reception that MMM has received, and I'm happy that so many people have played and enjoyed it; I'll upload a postmortem sometime soon, haha!

What's on the docket for next month?

Amare Jam is going on this month, and I hope to finish The Deepwater Witch for it! There are only a few CGs (and some optional mini CGs) to do, so I think I can! In addition, I want to finish the Hanasu script this month. After TDW is finished, I'll be working on Actala - doing updated backgrounds, sprites, and CGs. I want to work on both a Hanasu release and an updated Actala demo for a summer-ish timeframe (whether I can get both done for Otome Jam remains to be seen…)

— You haven’t bought y/n’s gift yet?— Sunoo gasped dramatically.

— Dude, you’re in problems— Jay added— Remember what she got you last year? She outdid all of us.

— Not me. I knew Noona’s present would be better, so I tagged along— Niki replied, his eyes still fixed on the tv screen.

— In five days— he responded, almost in a whisper, while brushing his hair with his hand— The thing is, I’ve been meaning to trick her into telling me something she wants; but somehow I always get distracted— he confessed, frustrated.

— What if you just tell her that you have the biggest crush on her already— said Jake, while eating some jelly.

Sunghoon felt his face becoming hotter— W-what?— he stuttered.

— Hyung, we are not stupid, you obviously like noona— Jungwon spoke.

— And she likes you back— Heeseung added, finally winning the game. Sunghoon just blushed even more.

— Actually, it would be a gift to all of us having you two date— Jay commented.

— Yeah, it’s getting weirder being around when you get all lovey dovey— Niki agreed. In that moment, the boy buried his face in a pillowcase while the rest of the friend group kept making fun of him.

Sunghoon took a big breath before the class door. It was finally the day.

Although at first his friends’ words had sounded crazy to him, after putting some thought in the issue, he had realized they were right. Well, at least in some parts, since he was almost sure that the sentiments he felt towards his best friend were not reciprocate. But he was done holding himself back, he had taken the decision of confessing and nothing was stopping him.

Despite his determination, he started shaking the moment he saw the first person exiting the classroom. Regardless, he waited patiently, well aware that y/n usually took a long time during tests. He even saw Sunoo, who gave him a thumbs up before leaving.

— Sunghoon-ah! How can I have a worse luck, I just did horrible in that exam. And on my birthday!— he was spacing out, but the tension returned as soon as the well-known voice reached his ears.

— Hey. Are you okay?— the girl, now standing in front of him asked, preoccupied.

He quickly put on a smile —Yeah, sure. How could I be not okay if I’m here to pick you up for your birthday?

— I’ve just spoke to you informally and you are not angry at all?— she questioned back, rhetorically.

— That’s not- Wait. You did what?— his expression dropped, suddenly annoyed.

In a matter of seconds, they were running around the school; laughing while Sunghoon tried to catch the girl. They were already getting tired once they arrived to the backyard, when she tripped in the grass. He stepped out the pace, frightened.

— y/n! Are you okay?— he asked, bending over her. And before he could’ve realized, the younger had already dragged him towards the floor with her, laughing.

— You are a little disrespectful son of a-— he started rambling, sitting down beside her.

— Hoon— he was interrupted— Thanks. I thought that test would ruin my mood for the rest of the day, but you already made it so much better— she continued, encircling him with her arms— Seriously, thank you.

The boy became flustered under the physical contact. He moved backwards, slowly creating a distance between them; yet holding the younger one by the hands.

Kink Advent Grand Finally

And that's a wrap? About a month ago I was surprised by @dommestic with a Tumblr post that resulted in a series of gifts and kinky adventures, which is probably the most thoughtful set of experiences I've ever had thrust upon me. (Thrust.) I got some new toys - some we've tried, some we have not - along with a trip to the local dungeon, a lot of time in bed, and a lot of time out of bed. We've still got a lot of things left to explore or try, and we started the new year off with a bang.

Unfinished Business. I believe she had a poll and I remember talk of a footstool thing earlier but I was very much focused on other things at the time. I think. I'm a little fuzzy on most of the details of Monday morning.

I am not exactly sure how the scoring system on that Org Chart is going to go. If I did, though, I would point to it as some sort of foreshadowing. Will the interwebs throw things at me I can't ignore? Will I just hold out and not need to do anything to make marks? Will the weather be nice today? Did Echo pack her leftovers for lunch? Stay tuned!

Omg they're finally adding different palettes for the heroes in DD2! I love that the weapons are different too depending on the hero's path, I can't wait to see all of them!!

It's so nice to see concept art yellow Highwayman finally becoming its own official skin! I do miss the green palette though but maybe it'll get added later, with more paths? Also missing the different skin tones, blue HWM used to be tanner while brown HWM, paler... Edit: on a second look, i think that was the green HWM skin on the sharpshoot path, only a bit washed out! Brown HWM was the one to go then!

I'll probably have to update my references' folder after the game launches, there will be sooo much new stuff to render. Half looking forward to it, half dreading the thought of redoing everything-- I'll try to come up with a more streamlined system. I'm thinking of learning how to animate the camera itself so I can render specific key-frames in an animation (like having the camera spin around the model so I can render multiples angles in one go?)

It'll probably take a while but I'm definitely doing it! I might not like DD2 much as a game overall but those models are sure nice to look at :)
