😡Things I Think Are Stupid😡 1. Racism. You can’t tell anything truly important just by someone’s skin colour: Their kindness, honesty, intelligence, etc. because everyone is different regardless. You should never choose to ignore or hurt someone just because of skin colour. It’s heartbreaking 2. 2SLGBTQI Hating. If someone were to see a ciswoman dating a cisman, a surprising amount of people wouldn’t even care how healthy the relationship is, just because they’re in an opposite sex relationship. They’d be more comfortable having somebody with a toxic partner than someone of the same gender who they love! Love is beautiful and people shouldn’t feel bad for being with the right person. People also shouldn’t feel guilty for being transgender either, everyone needs to live their lives while being the person they were meant to be. And stop trying to “Cure” asexuals, they’re not broken! That’s just who they are 3. Disability discrimination. As an autistic person who needs many supports, I think it’s unfair that people like me can’t get help either because of financial difficulties or lack of urgency. Service dogs are needed by quite a few people but waiting lists as well as high costs ($25,000 or even more) can make things harder. Support in school is greatly needed, experienced/responsible educators are important! Also, just because a child or adult is disabled, it doesn’t mean they’re a “Waste of resources”. They’re people! People who have fun, people who care about others, people who could make you smile and even change the world! Overall, be respectful, kind, keep an open mind and heart🥰As always: Questions are welcome!

Is Force Free dog training Woke?
So I have seen a lot of different opinions on this idea. Is Force Free dog training killing dogs? and so on. But first we need to know what Woke means. If you look into the dictionary you will find that it is the past of wake, however i took a much deeper dive and looked at Urban Dictionary. The main definition, ignoring all the political stuff is to be aware of social justice issues and to try to be on moral high ground. So I immediately not consider Force Free traning woke. Force Free trainers just look at science and go off of facts about animal behavior. I as a R+ trainer do not think im better or on a moral high ground compared to other trainers using diffrent methods. I have seen a WHOLE LOT of R+ trainers act like they are on a moral high ground because of the fact they know science and animal body language. I would rather hang out with a balanced trainer who accepts R+ trainer, then a R+ trainer who acts superior to balanced trainers. i know that those R+ trainers who act better then thou do not get a lot of understanding from the balanced traning community. As a crossover trainer i understand both sides, when I was balanced, I would have people side into my comments and DM's and call me an abuser and so on. If that was what the force free community consisted of, then no way did i want to be involved with them. Until I found the holy grail of R+ trainers, the trainers who were also crossover trainer and could understand that their own people could be absolutely nasty to people using different methods of training. I began to understand that not all R+ trainers were hypocrites. When I say hypocrite, I mean how they push Force Free traning and being as gentle as possible, but when you say you are not R+ then they call you an abuser and state that you should die and your dogs life is miserable. As a crossover trainer I will not go out of my way to call a balanced trainer abusive, cause 98% no one is trying to harm dogs. I cant judge a whole person and their dog based off of a 20 second clip I saw of them using a prong collar. However if it is obvious that the dog is being mistreated like, American Standard K9, Cesar millan, Dog Daddy, Tom Davis. Then I will say something.

AN OPEN LETTER to THE PRESIDENT & U.S. CONGRESS; STATE GOVERNORS & LEGISLATURES
Say NO to Loony-Bins: Immediate Action Required for Inpatient Psychiatric Care
2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
The current model of inpatient psychiatric care, which primarily focuses on safety and crisis stabilization, falls short in promoting sustained recovery. The prevalent emphasis on ultrashort lengths of stay often overlooks the need for comprehensive treatment plans.
A proposed model of care advocates for rapid diagnosis, goal-setting, and treatment modalities before initiating treatment, organized into three distinct phases: assessment, implementation, and resolution. This approach emphasizes individualized treatment and active patient involvement in treatment planning, addressing critical psychosocial aspects that are frequently neglected.
As we strive to reform the mental health care system, it's imperative to prioritize effective, recovery-oriented treatment strategies. This includes ensuring patient comfort and preferences are accommodated within reason. Considering patient preferences, like comfort items (such as safe stuffed animals; Share-Bears, if you will) and rescue medications (like melatonin,) is essential to upholding rigorous standards of care and safety.
Let's advocate for reforms that enhance patient-centered practices while adhering to established treatment guidelines and advancing recovery-oriented care.
Say no to “loony-bins;” those archaic relics that should be relegated to the distant past.

Teens, Trauma, and the Future of Libraries
let's talk about teens, trauma, and the future of libraries
Imagine if a library closed its doors from 3-5 p.m. every day, which just happens to be when the Senior Center across the street lets out for leisure time, and heading to the library was a popular activity. Now those seniors need to go somewhere else during that time. Imagine if a library decided that they had too many behavior problems when disabled patrons were in the library, so they…

SC Out of Home Abuse and Neglect (OHAN)
In your foster care training you may have heard about OHAN. Over the years I have always been told it isn’t IF, but WHEN you get investigated by OHAN. That is why documentation is extremely important for foster parents and social workers alike. You can read the importance of documentation in one of my other articles, but here is what OHAN is. Sounds scary doesn’t it? The Out of Home Abuse and…

Reverse Parenting: Embracing the Role of Caring for Aging Parents
Children become caregivers for aging parents in reverse parenting dynamics.
A mother has to break the umbilical cord twice: once at birth and once when the child becomes an adult. As we grow older, the dynamics between parents and children evolve. We often find ourselves taking on more responsibilities towards our parents. This shift, known as reverse parenting, is a natural progression where children become the caregivers for their aging parents. Understanding Reverse…

🦜What Would I Like My Life To Be?🦜
I’d want a romantic partner (I’m a lesbian btw). I would love to kiss/cuddle someone (So not just a friend) and probably, eventually it could lead to sexual stuff. But most importantly, this person should be a good listener to my info-dumping and respect that I need help in my daily life because of my autism
I’d want a shelter dog. Having a service dog is important for my needs but we can’t train any dog ourselves, we needed an organization. They just happened to use purebred dogs. So many dogs deserve homes but don’t have any where to go. I’d even adopt a senior pup because at heart, they're all loving puppies
I'd like a place without food "Rules". I should be able to eat between meals, eat without quantity limits and no "That's not good for you". Living with these rules has severally screwed up my eating (I eat a lot whenever I can because I developed food anxiety)
I want to become a disability advocate (Specifically autism and service dogs). I would do more presentations as well as Q&As (I've done some for my school before). I might even write more books as an author!

Hi Neil! I’m an 18 year old Catholic high school kid coming to terms with the fact that I’m not heterosexual, and I’m struggling with the guilt of that because I want to love who I want to love, but God condemns it in the Bible so I’m scared. I’m crying while writing this so sorry for any typos, but you just seem like a safe person to ask about this. Please any advice at all? Idk I’m just scared and I don’t know what to do.
Also I like your dog he’s cute.
If there is a God who made you, they made you love who you love.
It is true that the Book of Leviticus tells us that men who lie with other men need to be put to death, but it says the same thing about men who have sex with women while they're having their periods. I don't know if this helps at all.
But mostly what I'd say is, you need friends, you need a support network, and you need people you can talk to and be safe around. Some of those people you may find online -- and a good place to start might be
And good luck...

Holy crap, I didn't think Biden would be able to get the Climate Corps established without Congress. This is SUCH fantastic news.
--
"After being thwarted by Congress, President Joe Biden will use his executive authority to create a New Deal-style American Climate Corps that will serve as a major green jobs training program.
In an announcement Wednesday, the White House said the program will employ more than 20,000 young adults who will build trails, plant trees, help install solar panels and do other work to boost conservation and help prevent catastrophic wildfires.
The climate corps had been proposed in early versions of the sweeping climate law approved last year but was jettisoned amid strong opposition from Republicans and concerns about cost.
Democrats and environmental advocacy groups never gave up on the plan and pushed Biden in recent weeks to issue an executive order authorizing what the White House now calls the American Climate Corps.
“After years of demonstrating and fighting for a Climate Corps, we turned a generational rallying cry into a real jobs program that will put a new generation to work stopping the climate crisis,” said Varshini Prakash, executive director of the Sunrise Movement, an environmental group that has led the push for a climate corps.
With the new corps “and the historic climate investments won by our broader movement, the path towards a Green New Deal is beginning to become visible,” Prakash said...
...Environmental activists hailed the new jobs program, which is modeled after the Civilian Conservation Corps, created in the 1930s by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Democrat, as part of the New Deal...
Lawmakers Weigh In
More than 50 Democratic lawmakers, including Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey and New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, had also encouraged Biden to create a climate corps, saying in a letter on Monday that “the climate crisis demands a whole-of-government response at an unprecedented scale.”
The lawmakers cited deadly heat waves in the Southwest and across the nation, as well as dangerous floods in New England and devastating wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui, among recent examples of climate-related disasters.
Democrats called creation of the climate corps “historic” and the first step toward fulfilling the vision of the Green New Deal.
“Today President Biden listened to the (environmental) movement, and he delivered with an American Climate Corps,” a beaming Markey said at a celebratory news conference outside the Capitol.
“We are starting to turn the green dream into a green reality,” added Ocasio-Cortez, who co-sponsored the Green New Deal legislation with Markey four years ago.
“You all are changing the world,” she told young activists.
Program Details and Grant Deadlines
The initiative will provide job training and service opportunities to work on a wide range of projects, including restoring coastal wetlands to protect communities from storm surges and flooding; clean energy projects such as wind and solar power; managing forests to prevent catastrophic wildfires; and energy efficient solutions to cut energy bills for consumers, the White House said.
Creation of the climate corps comes as the Environmental Protection Agency launches a $4.6 billion grant competition for states, municipalities and tribes to cut climate pollution and advance environmental justice. The Climate Pollution Reduction Grants are funded by the 2022 climate law and are intended to drive community-driven solutions to slow climate change.
EPA Administrator Michael Regan said the grants will help “communities so they can chart their own paths toward the clean energy future.”
The deadline for states and municipalities to apply is April 1, with grants expected in late 2024. Tribes and territories must apply by May 1, with grants expected by early 2025."
