I have been tagged by the dear @thiamsxbitch, Thank you so much💙💙. I did not see this until now. So I will honor it and show what I have.
Rules: Post the first lines of your last 10 fanfics posted on AO3. (Sorted by date posted) If you have less than 10 fics, posted what you have.
Honestly and sadly, I have 8 fanfics of different fandoms. 1 discontinued and the others are on hold due to life being a pain. But I am invested in Teen Wolf, Cobra Kai/Karate Kid, Kimetsu No Yaiba, etc. I have been interested in DC universe but I have never gotten to write for it so I have some WIPs for DCU and many, many WIPs for Teen Wolf and others.
Coup De Grace (Chemin D'Aconit series/Teen Wolf AU)
This is my Teen Wolf AU fanfic that follows the canon divergence but with some changes and altering of the canon events. A rewrite series with OC characters and world building of the supernatural world. Currently 2 chapters, working on chapter 3.
The town of Beacon Hills to any outsider seems to be just your ordinary and hospitable town in California.
At least that is what they assume. But Beacon Hills is not your ordinary town. Not to the eyes of the supernatural that reside in Beacon Hills, or those who know of the supernatural. A dead body split in half by an unknown serial killer, a burned down estate in the preserve that used to belong to a prominent family, the arrival of a powerful hunter clan trying to eradicate the ominous threat, and finally, a sophomore teenager who is bitten by a wolf.
Some Stranger Things have happened in Beacon Hills, one that will shape the lives of Florence and Cassian Saint-Claire, along with their loved ones.
Not a Bully
This is a Cobra Kai oneshot I made regarding a "What If" AU for Anthony and Kenny. The change and path it would have been for the both of them or rather Anthony's behavior.
What if Anthony didn't try to fight Kenny that night? What if he stood up to Zack and his fake friends? What if he helped Kenny instead of bullying him?
Vulnerable (Season 1)
This is a Cobra Kai AU canon divergence fanfic I have and while I haven't update it in a while, it is a fanfic that is still ongoing with 3 chapters and I am drafting the 4th chapter.
Cameron Collins; a privileged, wealthy, socialite teenager who lives in Encino and attends West Valley High. He has what others envy. Perfect grades, a large house, immense wealth, exotic party planner, a famous plastic surgeon father and a brand ambassador for Giorgio Armani. Despite how amazing his lifestyle is, he's not those privileged encino brats who hurt or judge others. He places himself as a normal human being like the rest. But when a new dojo by the name of Cobra Kai opens in The Valley, what will this do to impact Cameron's curiosity and mysterious wonder of the dojo that was banned since 1985?
Awaken
This is actually my first fanfic ever written and the one with the most chapters. While it has been 2 years since updated, I have it's next chapters in drafts .
The mysterious kid who was put in the orphanage as an abandoned child, later to make friends with two others named Kaneda and Tetsuo. The lone kid's name is Hasegawa Nimura but prefers to be called by his first name as he isn't one for formalities. He joins Kaneda's new gang called The Capsules in their juvenile years and Nimura was fine with the situation he was in. But there's alot of things that neither Kaneda or Tetsuo know about their childhood friend. Does Nimura know what he's hiding or is he clueless as the rest of the pack? How long will this air of content keep up with him until it all collapses?
Ominous
A fanfic I based off from Crazy Rich Asians. A combination of thr novel and the movie. I have a thing for old money family and aesthetics regarding upper class status within a aristocracy system. On 2 chapters currently.
The Young Family, a well known family only known by Singapore's elite, as well as Singapore's powerful and meritocratic aristocrat family run it's reins between it's conglomerate corporation and investments. The Shining heir, Nicholas Young was expected to return to Singapore after his 6 months abroad after he graduated from Oxford University. Instead he remained away from home beyond the 6 months. Now Andrew Young, younger brother of Nick Young, is doing many steps in keeping the family business strong, as well as being the COO of the giant corporation empire and chairman of his own investment firm while helping his CEO and engineer father be able to take some time for himself. Yet, he still faces issues of reality, and is often overlooked in society. Yet what could be keeping Nicky away from home? And what issues could Andrew be facing that he refuses to bring up?
Collison
During my Ajin Phase when I was reading the Manga. I created an OC being the son of a Japanese government minister who is in between the war of Ajins and Humans.
The world is currently on the topic of Ajins. 46 identified Ajins around the world and two in Japan. The 2 Ajins are under surveillance by the Japanese government and away from society. But what happens when the truth comes out? How long will humanity continue to play chess until it takes one bad day to reverse the board on them?
How is Tokui Ishino, son of the Japanese Minister of Health, Labor, and Welfare willing to break through the dystopian chaos that will run amok?
Unravel
I have a passion for Demon Slayer (Kimetsu No Yaiba), it is one of my favorite anime/manga series. While it has been a while since I last updated it, that doesn't mean it is discontinued.
As leaders of the Demon Slayer Corps, the Ubuyashiki clan is known to lead the demon slayers with benevolence, composure, skill, pride, and determination to protect the lives of the innocent from the monstrous creatures called demons. And while this tradition has continued for century after century, what happens when one Ubuyashiki member, Kazuya, follows a different path? A path of his own agenda.
Toxic Revenge (Discontinued)
This is a BNHA fanfic that I have discontinued. No longer working on the series due to getting writers block on constructing the next chapters and phase for this story. May get a rewrite.
Suzumebachi Ronin, a underground villain who works as a spy and informant of Japan's most powerful villain with a terrifying quirk. With Sensei choosing his successor and the rise of the League of Villains, Suzumebachi now stands with his leader to bring the hero society down to it's knees and create a new era.
But Suzumebachi also has a few agendas of his own as a loyal villain to sensei.

Keitember 2024 Prompt 1
Kei has a lot of empathy for animals instead of humans. When the team sees Kei getting emotional over an animal being hurt, they’re quite surprised to see apathetic Kei so distraught.
Tumblr media
So today I decided to hyperfocus on a show I watched on repeat years ago and still haven't read the manga of and now I've got a ton of prompts in a Word document that will just gather dust if I don't' post them somewhere and therefore I present to you: Keitember.
What is it? Just me, posting a prompt a day in Kei's birth month. Will I get to day 30? Probably not. I lose interest very easily and in three days I will have forgotten all about this so I will just schedule the prompts I have now to be posted another date. How handy that that is an option, where is that option on your site, ao3?
Can you use my prompts for fanfiction or art? Yes, duh, that's what prompts are for. Just tag me in it wherever you post your creation. I don't want to be left out :(
Can you make prompts yourself for Keitember? Yes. Please, I don't want to be alone in this place. Help they're holding me hostage-
Requirements? Just that it's centered around Kei Nagai. Can be the anime or manga version. Anything else? No, I'm not strict. Do I look like a chemistry professor to you? If you want to hashtag #Keitember 2024 on a post that talks about what you think Kei likes to eat for breakfast, go ahead. Anything goes.
Do I really need to stop drinking caffeïne? Yes.
Okay, well, I only have 18 prompts for now so I guess I'll have to rewatch the show so I can get inspired? Farewell for now.

Hello!! I'm Raven or Rei whichever works! I will start writting fanfics, please don't be mean, i'm new to writting fics.
Tumblr media
Okay, now let's get some rules laid.
1. I will only write x reader fics.
2. NO SMUT. I only write fluff, platonic and angst.
3. No minor x adult, if i will write for a minor it's platonic ONLY.
4. No gore (mild only), suggestions of r4p3, and things like that.
Least but not last! The fandoms i'll write for:
1. Honkai Impact 3rd (if you're a male, requesting for non platonic and it's something romantic, i will not reply);
2. Honkai star rail
3. Ajin: demi-human (Nagai Kei, Nakano Ko, Kaito, Shimomura Izumi, Tosaki Yu)
That's kinda all for now, but this will change from time to time. Okay, thanks for reading!!

Takagen for ship bingo? 🤔
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, I can't go five years not knowing they're [spoilers] and then just drop it on the reveal. Especially when canon up to that point is just Like That™︎. I'll ship anything in Ajin for the hell of it to see where fanfic can take it.

现阶段搞《致不灭的你》zine时,俺在想,你丫做完这个过后其实还有啥能做啊?
'Cause bruh, I can't be an art mod (what is art can I eat it), or a writing mod (zero fanfic experience woohoo), or graphics mod (is Graphics the Digimon evolution of Art-mon), or finance mod (please don't make me do anything money-related; I've got the Chinese stress and yet none of the Chinese acuity), or—
The only thing I can do is organize, methinks. Okay, but which random zine is gonna want a rando to be their Organization Mod anyway? Hahahaha!
Oh, and the only writing I can output are essays, but there isn't any work where I have enough thoughts and juice to write competent things other than To Your Eternity.
I mean, there is Jujutsu Kaisen, but that fandom is saturated with essayists, especially in the subdomain I usually write about (uh hem, Gojo). I suppose I can cook some Buddhist Philosophy stuff, but that's about the extent. And already it's on shaky grounds because do you know how many big-brained Buddhism Essayists there are in the fandom already?
What I'm saying is that if there are any zines I really wanna do other than To Your Eternity, it's fucking After God and Ajin! Ahahhahahah!
And tell me how are those even remotely passing any interest check. The former is on a hiatus and relatively unknown, and the later was popular back when fucking Tokyo "YURETA! YUGANDA SEKAI NI DANDAN BOKU WA!" Ghoul was at the peak of its popularity. How long ago was that?!
... Welp. If nothing else, I can sulk about small circles with Rae, who's forever hard-carrying Akudama Drive with her best friend for the community sorry I meant com-mini-ty.
As an aside: I really, really hope that after being roped into seeing Neon Genesis Evangelion by a certain orange-peel-munching prince, Future Lyn won't suddenly feel compelled to write EVA essays and fall for the easiest-fucking-soft-voiced-pathetic-boy-named-Get-In-The-Robot-Shinji. Please just let the only side-effect be A Cruel Angel's Thesis earworm. Please-bitte-chae bal-求你了-tolong jangan onegaishimasu.
Should I impose a ban on Shinji-related profile pictures as a safeguard? Looking to the future and prepping like a survivalist, innit?!

Tis the Season of Surprises (AjinSS21)
Here is my Ajin Secret Santa for @kooroka ! :D
You told me about your fave characters, so I incorporated them all into the story. I hope you'll enjoy some Christmas fluff. Happy Holidays ! 🎄❤️(✯◡✯)
------
The 25th of December was a snowy winter’s day. Kou’s car wasn’t the newest or fastest even when the roads weren’t glazed like an icy harbinger of death, but for someone who had only learned to drive a few months ago and passed his first driver’s exam with flying colours, he thought he did a pretty good job. From managing to stuff a stoic Kei into the passenger’s seat, their overnight bags into the trunk and the assembly of presents onto the backseat, to navigating the slippery roads all the way to their destination and arriving on time in the afternoon right in front of the apartment complex, even securing a parking space – everything went better than he thought it would.
There was no way anyone on earth could possibly find something to complain about.
“You almost killed me there, good job.” Kei Nagai grumbled, as he clicked his seatbelt open and reached for the door handle.
Fine, perhaps with one exception.
They took the elevator up to the 6th floor. Izumi was waiting for them, and there was a genuine smile on her face when she greeted them and welcomed them in.
“Oh, you shouldn’t have.” she said, but accepted the presents from Kei regardless that Kou knows Mrs. Nagai hand-selected for the occasion. If there was one thing that the Nagai family excelled in, it was not tarnishing their reputation- or at least, exerting exceptional damage control.
Tosaki greeted them with a curt nod from the kitchen island. “You really shouldn’t have.” he said, and he too sounded genuine, although it seemed to be born out of moody contempt more than anything else.
“Wow!” Kou exclaimed, having skirted past the genkan and into the centre of the apartment quickly, “This place is really nice!”
That it was. The 2LDK Izumi and Tosaki had secured, in a commutable distance from the ministry, was not shabby by any means.
Of course, it was nothing compared to the hideout- but then, few things were comparable to an entire rural military complex complete with training grounds and a forest. When he voiced this, Tosaki merely scoffed in response and adjusted his glasses.
“Like we would need all that space again. And like we could, with all the rent prices here.
“And your rent to pay for.” was what went unsaid.
While Kei had been able to go back to live with his family, Kou’s parents were nowhere to be found.  (He honestly wished he could say that this had been a first). Which in essence meant he was right back where he had been before the entire fiasco with Sato had started.  In an attempt not to let him become homeless, and perhaps out of out of an ever-present desire to atone for his own wrongdoings involving the Ajin Research committee, Tosaki had secured him a place to live, and not only paid for the deposit, his rent and utilities, but even for a used car and his driver’s license,  as well as giving him an allowance for groceries and anything personal. It was a charitable offer his old self had never accepted, but Tosaki had phrased it as being “payment for his services” in their military operation. And because he really did have nothing else waiting for him, Kou had accepted. He had gotten a part-time job to pay Tosaki back– truth be told, he would have gotten two if the governmental worker hadn’t interfered and told him save the money and to focus on school.
School. There where times when- although he would never say it out loud- Kou even missed Sato and the adventure created by his active presence, because now that this part of his life had gone abnormally quiet, he dealt with an enemy of quite another kind- receiving his high school diploma.
They were enrolled in the same online school, but while Kei was on the fast track to graduation, only taking an additional year to perfect his scores and heighten his chances at being accepted to a prestigious medical university, which was something that blew Kou’s mind on a regular basis, he himself was struggling with barely passing his classes.
Then again, some things really did never change.
Kou had trouble finding the right word for a moment, but grinned when a sudden inspiration struck:  “Hideout 2.0. Right? Right?”
“Don’t ever call it that.” Tosaki grumbled.
“Why not? It has the same- like, atmosphere, doesn’t it?”
“I sure hope it doesn’t.”
“Come on, why not?”
While Tosaki went on a tangent on how the apartment really did look nothing like the hideout and how he and Izumi really only lived together as roommates, Kou took a look around at the place. They really had put effort into decorating the place. A Christmas tree stood by the corner, adorned with red and silver baubles and string lights wrapped around its core. Even a small star had been placed on top. Silver tinsel hung from the curtain rods and a parade of reindeer had taken residence on the windowsill.
“Ogura sent some of the things over.” Izumi said, having noticed his curious gaze and lowered her eyes awkwardly, “We don’t really know how to celebrate, so- “
“Ah, no way, it looks great.” Kou insisted, “You did a fantastic job. Right, Kei?”
Kei mumbled something noncommittal, burying himself into the sofa and starting to type on his laptop, because apparently, nothing quite beat the festive spirit like getting ahead on your classwork.
It really was like being back at the hideout.
“I can help you guys in the kitchen.” Kou offered.
“If you’re okay with being put on chopping duty.” Izumi said, gesturing towards a pile of vegetables.
“Nothing easier than that.” Kou announced confidently, and got right to work- after all, who was he to deny a fragile lady the help she needed? The fact that said fragile lady could body slam him and call it a regular Tuesday – yeah, he didn’t want to think too much about that.
He surveyed the stack of ingredients almost filling up the small kitchen area.
“So, you guys are expecting more company?”
“Merry Christmas, Four Eyes!” Ogura said, dropping an impressively large sack on the floor beside him. He stretched out his arms in anticipation of a hug and grinned at all of them: “Santa Ogura is here! Been a while, hasn’t it?”
Tosaki swivelled around to the others, while pointing an accusatory finger at the unexpected house guest: “Who invited him?”
“Come on Yuu, what’s with the hostility?” Ogura argued, having taken off his shoes and stepping foot into the apartment, “Izumi said it’s fine to come over. After all, I’m just in the country for the holidays, visiting my parents. My wife’s staying with them for now.”
Ogura has a wife? Kou mouthed in Kei’s direction, to which the other responded with a shrug and a raised eyebrow, before turning back to the screen.
“Guess I’ll make some tea.” Tosaki sighed, admitting defeat where he saw it and walking off.
“Let me just take your jacket.” Izumi offered. Ogura thanked her, and in taking it off displayed the most hideous Christmas sweater that Kou had seen in a while. Apart from that, the professor looked the most well rested Kou had ever seen him. The bags under his eyes were not as prominent, and he had grown out his hair.
“You should have brought wife with you, Ogura.” Izumi said, eyeing the horridly colourful-with-pompoms ensemble with mild intrigue, “We wouldn’t have minded.” She expertly ignored Tosaki’s snort of derision.
Ogura waved her off. “Eh, I didn’t yet get to completely tell her everything that happened, faked death, broken fingers, taking down an immortal terrorist and all.” he said, as casually as though he were talking about tomorrow’s forecast, “I want to take it one day at a time.”
Izumi nodded. “That probably is for the best.” she said solemnly.
“And besides, I don’t feel like making this a couple’s evening any more than it already is.” Ogura added, “With you guys, and her and me…Don’t want Nagai and Nakano here to feel excluded.”
“We are not a couple!” Tosaki snapped, predictably, while Kou did his best to not dwell on the tiny sting he still felt months later that his – luckily, fading- crush on Izumi really had never been anything but unrequited, “How many damn times do I have to tell you?”
“Well, for that to be believable, maybe Izumi shouldn’t be wearing a cardigan that’s at least two sizes too large, but nice try anyway.” Ogura said airily.
Izumi turned several shades of red. “I…I just like them comfortable.” she said, defensively crossing her arms in front of her chest, “They make them a little larger.” Her voice broke. "And- and fluffy.”
“I see.” Ogura said, with a smug smirk that signalled that he wasn’t buying it.
“Here’s your tea.” Tosaki cut in, placing the tray down on the table with slightly more force than would have been strictly necessary.
“Thank Yuu.” Ogura said, ignoring Tosaki’s vicious glare at the ever-present pun that seemed like it wasn’t dying out any time soon. He turned towards Kei.
“So, Nagai, any decisive thoughts about that summer internship offer I made you?”
“Depends.” Kei said, placing down his laptop for the first time that evening to fixate Ogura with a sudden renewed interest, “Just how interested are you in me and what are you willing to offer? You must know, this is not the only opportunity I’m looking at.”
Kou almost choked on his tea. Whenever he handed in a resume, he was mostly happy that it got read at all. He did know that even for Kei, receiving work experience wasn’t as easy as he made it out to be, with some company’s unspoken prejudice against Ajin remaining a deciding factor in the hiring process even in the present day.
But despite everything, Nagai Kei wasn’t so easily intimidated. It was one of the things that Kou admired about him the most, even if he would never admit to it. And well, having worked with Professor Ogura before had probably further aided his bravery.
Ogura laughed. “I like that confidence, Nagai. Let’s go over the terms, then.”
It was several hours later. The sky outside had already darkened, though snowflakes still fell, rendering the atmosphere incredibly cozy.
The added warmth and comfort of the kotatsu certainly helped with that part.
The food had been delicious, and with presents exchanged and celebrations slowly dwindling down, Kou was closer than ever to a food coma. It had been a great evening, catching up with everyone again. Even Kei had let a smile slip now and then, and had overall been far less moody than Kou was used to. Okay, except for that part right after the main course where Kou, drunk on sake, had placed a Christmas hat on Kei’s IBM.
“But come on, it stuck! It was hilarious and spontaneous! And your IBM didn’t even notice, at first.”
“But it did notice, Kou. And it wasn’t happy. And if I hadn’t reacted fast enough, the next hilariously spontaneous part would have been its claws in my abdomen.”
“Well, wouldn’t that just have been some early med school practice?”
“I’ll show you early med school practice-“
Izumi offered Ogura to stay for the night, so he didn’t have to drive home through the snow, and he accepted almost immediately.
“You guys probably have a futon, right?” Ogura said, as they were discussing night arrangements, “With you and Tosaki in your separate rooms, Nagai and Nakano on the couch-“
“No, actually, we’re going to sleep in Tosaki’s room, right?” Kou said thoughtlessly, and wished he’d kept his mouth shut when he noticed Tosaki’s glare. If only looks could kill…
“Is that so?” Ogura said, with a grin that implied Kou had walked right into his trap, “So, in conclusion, does that mean you will be sleeping in Izumi’s room, Yuu? Now isn’t that a surprise!”
“No comment. And for the last time, stop calling me that.” Tosaki responded through gritted teeth, while Izumi fled to the bathroom with a flimsy excuse.
“You were right, Nakano.” Kei said, stretching his limbs and sighing, “This really is like we never left the hideout.”
Izumi woke up in the middle of the night to insistent pings from her cellphone.
She rolled over to the side, careful not to wake Tosaki, who was a light sleeper in any case, and opened her messages, blinking as her eyes adjusted to the glaring brightness of the screen.
They were from Tanaka Kouji.
Tanaka,  the ex-terrorist, who had been put on probation after a lengthy testimony he had given after being involved with Sato’s forces, the government’s feeble attempt at both indemnification for the trauma he had gone through and a guarantee that he would keep his mouth shut and not pursue further legal action after what had been done to him at the Ajin experimental sites.
Tanaka Kouji, who she hadn’t heard from in months.

Shimomura Izumi: Hello, Tanaka. Merry Christmas. What’s this?
Tanaka Kouji: Merry Christmas. Just click on the link. Please.
And Izumi did.

The recording starts. An old man sits in a chair. There’s a Santa’s hat on his head and an AK-12 on his side. The man smiles with eerie familiarity.
“Ho Ho Ho, Motherfuckers. Did you miss the game?”

i don't know if this has ever been explained in the manga but, you know how in one of Ajin's first episodes there's a flashback of Kei's mom deleting Kaito's contact from his phone and forbiding them to talk, and later we see that they really do stop talking after that... but there's also a shot where Eriko gives Kaito the news and we see little Kaito with tears in his eyes ad he says, "i know, he called me" ...and isn't it weird that Kaito got a call from Kei? then that reminds me of the first episode, where Kei was on the run and wanted to ask for help but didn’t know who to trust while scrolling down his contacts and then just dialed Kaito? and he answered with a "I've been waiting"
WHAT IF, Kei's had Kaito's number memorised the whole time? it is canon that he has an excellent memory, that's how he was so good at school. what if they never really stopped talking? what if Kei'd been still calling Kaito occasionally, when he had a bad day or he was overwhelmed by everything or simply needed a friend? and what if that was why Kaito was sure he was gonna come to him that day, that he knew Kei would call him and so he just started packing a fucking bag to run from the cops?

Keitember 2024 Prompt 20
Kei teaches Kou how to die more efficiently… it’s more intimate than Kou and Kei expected it to be. Kei in doctor mode, touching Kou a lot and telling him which veins are the most important. Killing-talk has no right to be so hot.

Ajin Week Day One
Day 1: The Fool / favourite character / Lily
Upright, The Fool can mean beginnings, innocence, spontaneity, a free spirit Yellow lilies symbolize thankfulness and desire for enjoyment.
Ever wonder why Satou likes Speedrunner so much? (Takes place before the events of the third OVA)
Hope you enjoy whatever I just made, hopefully tomorrow will be slightly better quality wise and publishinng time wise.
Five cracked ribs, a shattered leg, a broken foot, multiple cuts that required stitches, and a bad concussion. These were the injuries Fox suffered from after the last mission went completely sideways after someone accidentally notified the enemy of their presence. He really took the brunt of the action getting back to safety, but part of him wished he could've stand his ground and unload his magazine into each and every one of them. Maybe that'll be his next mission, but for now, he has another battle to deal with.
Boredom.
He brought very, very little with him when he was brought into this secret covert ops team. Just the bare necessities since the military provided the rest when he walked in. Other than the usual medical equipment, a vase of yellow lilies was displayed on the nightstand to his right. The CCTV only has five channels to surf through, and he wasn't into the scarce selection of books the base provided. Fox was about to ask himself if he wants to watch a rerun of The A-Team when the door opened.
In comes a somewhat familiar face. Nothing seems to make them stand out even in the standard base uniform. Though he doesn't recognize them as one of the soldiers he goes on missions with.
“Hi, good morning.” They greeted. “How are you feeling? Anything out of the ordinary?” Fox shook his head no. They checked on the clipboard just under the foot of the medical bed before walking over to a corner to get bandages.
“Just gotta dress your wounds again and I'll be out of your hair in no time.” It was quiet for about two minutes before what might be a low-rank medical officer started talking again. Then again, they don't seem to mind having a one sided conversation.
“Say, Fox, what do you usually do to pass time around here?” They asked.
“Hm?”
“Well you always seem to disappear during the quiet periods during missions, and not even your teammates can figure where you go.”
Fox, of course, didn't answer that.
“I mean, I apologize if I'm prying into something private, really, since I would sneak off to play games too.” With that, they pulled a small plastic rectangle with a screen and multi colored buttons on it. “Ever had one of these?”
“...No.” Fox replied.
“It's the latest model from the manufacturer. It can now show color and it has a backlight if you're playing it in the dark. It came bundled with this game called Speedrunner and I'm completely hooked to it, but it's really difficult at times. Here lemme show you the ropes”
With that, they gave him the device and gave a brief tutorial on what the buttons are and what the controls are in this specific game. The beginning level was easy so others like him can get into the swing of it, he noted. The second level did bring a little more challenging features, but Fox managed to get through it with his one person audience cheering him on. The level after that though was a whole new kind of challenge. He did his best, but alas it was in vain.
“Ah, I died.” He said.
His companion let out a small laugh. “Don’t beat yourself over it.” They said. “Just load it up again, it’ll put you at the start of the level you’re currently on.” However, a red light flashed in the corner of the device just as Fox was about to continue where he left off. The medical officer patted themselves all over and then let out a sigh.
“Crap, I probably left my charger in my room. I'll go get it.” They made three steps to the door before turning around with, “Once you’re back on your feet make sure to give it back, okay?”
Fox nodded, but he never gave it back to them.
During his recovery, he already beat the game seven times and completed the new game plus mode four times. He could feel his heart jump every time he died.

“Looks like you're finally giving out,” Satou spoke to the old handheld game he had in his hands. "It's a shame, really. I was about to beat the final boss again." The backlight had been slowly dimming, it took a lot more force to press down on certain buttons, and now it won't hold a charge no matter how long he put it on for. Part of him wanted to throw it out, but maybe some other time.
He could always sell it to buy the revamped version of it for the irony. Tanaka would be relieved he didn't have to pull out another organ or two from him.
Takahashi was passing by Satou when he jokingly asked, “Hey Satou-san, what's with that fossil in your hands?”
To which Satou replied, “Just something I used to pass the time.”
A quiet thought wondered where that medical officer is and what are they doing today.
