Watching Pathfinder setting lore videos again (this time on Absalom), and I’m realising that the instant someone says that a particular area of the world has a goblin population in it, I’m immediately thinking ooh! I’mma make a goblin!

There is a section of the city of Absalom called the Puddles, which is a district of the city that was dropped below the high tide line by an earthquake a few years back, meaning the entire district is pretty much permanently swamped and semi-flooded, and naturally has become the poorest district in the city. Buildings are sinking and subsiding, most people live in a warren of ‘streets’ and walkways made across the rooftops, the area is overrun by criminals, and it’s just generally become a damp hellhole. And, naturally, there are goblins there. Apparently the largest population of goblins in Absalom. And I immediately want to make one.

Rogue is probably a cheap answer for class in a city district that’s basically a criminal hellhole, but given the climbing and theft emphasis just surviving in the Puddles implies, I’m pretty comfortable with it. Skills to level I think would be Thievery, Stealth, Acrobatics, Survival and Society. And for the goblin lineage, I really, really, really want Irongut. Because the Puddles is a drowned hellhole where everything is half-rotting, so a goblin who can eat anything and who gets bonuses against getting sick feels like a must. I just want to make a tough little ankle-biter (possibly literally if I take the Fang Sharpener feat) who can make a good go of this place where other people might struggle. I can eat garbage and half-rotten fish, and I’ll be fine. And if I have less tough friends, that means they can save the half-decent stuff for themselves, which might help out some.

I just like goblins, I think? Goblin rogues. They’re just tough, stubborn little guys and I like ‘em.

Question about your changling AU, where did you learn about the ins and outs of Fae and Changling myths? I'm interested in learning too but not sure where to start lol

some of the lore I have for the AU I crafted myself, otherwise I read a lot of old faerie tales growing up and my mom, for some reason, knows an awful lot about shit like that, so some of it is just innate from her. otherwise i just read a lotttttt of books around the concepts of these things when I was younger because I was fascinated with jim henson's worlds

Christine, much to Erik's utter amazement, had a jealous streak and a temper worthy of Queen Laegertha herself. If an actual sword had been in her hands, there would have been blood on the ballroom floor and not just the paste pearls of that loathsome guest prima donna.

"Erik, if you value your life, you will remain silent and let the little Daae take care of it," murmured Nadir Khan, drawing upon the wisdom of a once happily married man.

For once, Erik actually took his advice. He still wasn't completely sure what La Violetta had been about with him, save triggering all his mental alarm bells, but it seemed his darling Christine did have things well in hand.

(One day, Meg figures, someone is going to have to explain to Monsieur le Fantome Certain Things about himself that he was somehow blissfully unaware of. Things that involved the words "ridiculously attractive," "mysteriously alluring" and "That Voice."
