barnes and noble has been raising the prices of everything and further pushing for their premium membership option (which they raised the price of by 60 percent this year!) and then when they have big sales events, they're less than what they used to be.

last year at this time you could get one of their leather-bound book annex tomes for $12.50 (without a member discount) because of the 50 percent off all hardcover sales. but they raised the price of those tomes from 25 bucks to 30, and they decreased the sale from 50 percent off all hardcovers to 1/3rd off. so that same book that was $12.50 at last year's end-of-year sale is now 20 bucks. and that's supposed to be savings enough to induce me to walk into one of their stores this week?

i'm sorry but b&n has just gotten so greedy, even though their business has only been doing better and better in previous years. they do not have to be raising prices like they have been, and they can damn well afford to have the same savings events they used to. if you went to one of those hardcover sales a year or two ago, even if you lived in a less populated area like i do, you had never seen a b&n so busy in your life. things were flying off the shelves. they WERE making bank.

and as a company they've only been growing and growing (as much as the publishing industry has been, in recent years). but there are so many other ways to buy books. CHEAPER ways to buy books. MORE SUSTAINABLE ways to buy books. and since books and booksellers are doing really well right now, i don't see why barnes and noble is getting so greedy when they don't have to be. i dont like new shiny books that much. people buy books for the content, ultimately. sometimes we as consumers might make the choice that a new shiny book is worth paying a bit more for, but not that much. barnes and noble has just been demanding more and more of their customers' money for less and less benefit.

being aroacespec and in a relationship is fucking weird. my partner tells me how they’re feeling all these new exciting emotions about me and my thoughts are “wow. you should get that checked out, sounds painful”. (sometimes i also feel similar things but it’s rather rare for me. gotta say it does feel nice but i can’t imagine someone feeling that on my behalf) im playing a two-player among us match as a relationship impostor.

they know “my deal”, they know im difficult. they’re still here and yet i feel like im not pulling my weight, im not in it enough - just on an emotional level even.

i do love them, we are compatible (if we aren’t in some areas it’s uncharted territory yet), we have similar outlooks and goals for life. it’s all new and exciting for me personally as it is my first real relationship. im Very selective, i turned down many a person (sometimes for reasons of “they will not understand my aroacespec thing”), but this one is really special; even other people saw that when we first met. i can see us partnered & living together (we’re long distance currently) but i keep coming back to my doubts that im a fraud and dragging them along/leading them on since im not as romance or sex oriented as people usually are. boo hoo hoo womp womp womp

i keep coming back to thinking i should tell them to leave to save them the frustration of dealing with my difficulties later on. is it worth it? is me dumping them like that worse than them leaving me later when i can’t deliver the allo experience? (i don’t want to dump them but sometimes i feel like i have to??? idk why i think that)

if they know that you’re aspec and are fully aware that your relationship will be different than a typical allo one, there’s no reason to worry! they wouldn’t be in the relationship if they didn’t want to be, and from the sound of it, they’re very happy! i understand that it can be scary to think you aren’t living up to their expectations, but try and enjoy the relationship you have! easier said than done, but try not to worry about the future, and whether they’ll leave. that can happen in any relationship, aspec or not, and you’ll miss out on the great relationship you have now. best wishes to you and your partner!

You finally purchased the PS5 you had been saving up for, primarily so you could play the Resident Evil 4 Remake video game. A few years ago, you just discovered the series and were eager to play the remake of one of your favorite games. 

Setting it up was the hard part, so many wires and instructions to the TV to your console all confused you. You hated living alone because you couldn't ask someone else for help but hey, at least you can gawk at Leons arms in peace, right? As you finish setting it up you sigh in relief. Turning it on and downloading the game as you went off and cleaned your home in peace, it was a two story house with some spacing. You didn't need all of that room just for yourself. But you wanted to treat yourself when you had the money to move out of that small apartment downtown, it made you almost claustrophobic.

After it finished downloading you jumped up from where you laid on the couch, sitting down and grabbing the console before you looked at the TV, opening the game and selecting a gamemode. ‘Hardcore sounds fun..’ You smirked as you pressed on it, watching as the screen faded to black and then to a cutscene. 

After the entire startup to the game ends you walk around, getting to the village as you start shooting and running around. Trying to escape the Salvador NPC chasing after you, struggling to press the button to shoot at it to lessen its HP. Your controller malfunctions and causes you to no longer be able to walk, the Salvador NPC comes towards you and a cutscene displays of Leons death with the same chainsaw the NPC was wielded with. You curse under your breath,”Son of a bitch!” After you press the button to replay again you mumble to yourself,”Sorry Leon..” before moving again. “Let it go.” Leon chuckled, making you confused– did he just talk to you? Or is that just coincidence?.. (or some shitty Frozen reference..) “That's a weird voice line..” You tried to brush it off, chuckling nervously as you continued to play.

 You got to the point of the underground mining areas of the island, yawning as you set the controller down and popped your back, bending your torso side to side, rolling your shoulders in circles,”Food sounds good right now..” You sat up, your knees cracking with you as you went to grab a snack before you went back to the game. Grabbing a small packet of fruit gummies before sitting back on the floor and picking the controller up, admiring Leon's graphics as you smiled to yourself,”He looks good in the remake.” You took a few handfuls of the small fruit snacks as you stared at his figure. 

“You think so?” 

You jumped up, your back straightening as you let out a sharp inhale. Staring at the TV screen as you rubbed your eyes before looking back at the screen,”Thats fucking crazy..” You backed up from the TV, shocked at what just happened. Was this some new update where he talks to you? What the fuck is happening? Leons character starts moving on its own, walking around as your camera follows him. Your hands reached for the controller, fumbling it in your hands as you tried to stop his movements. Totally stunned as you watched him hit barrels and interact with the digital world on his own,”Woah– What the fuck is happening!?--” You hit your controller and Leon suddenly stopped. Is this some kind of prank? You opened your mouth to speak slowly,”Hello?..” You felt like an idiot for thinking this may work.

“Hey.” Leon says nonchalantly, looking up towards the screen as he smirks. You stood up, hands on your head as you started to pace around your living room,”This is a fucking joke, some prank the seller who gave this to me is doing..” You heard Leon talk,”That's rude.” He laughed, he fucking laughed! You stopped in your tracks, watching as he was now tilting his head as he looked at you,”Sorry, It's just I never had a fictional, programmed, character speak to me before.” You said sarcastically as you tried to control your breathing. What the hell is going on?...

Leon adjusted his posture as he chuckled,”Ah. Well, makes more sense. Thanks Einstein for finding that out.” You sighed, still on edge about the whole situation. I mean, a talking, supposed programmed character that was supposed to just say corny one liners and shoot NPCs is speaking to YOU. Everything that happened in a span of just a few hours made your whole world seem unreal, like a dream. You pinched the bridge of your nose,”Im.. I'm going to bed, i'll solve this tomorrow..” You sighed, looking at Leon one last time before shoving your controller in a random cubby in your TV stand and running to feel the soft sheets below your fingertips.

What the fuck just happened?

Was your last thought before you succumbed into a peaceful sleep. Hours later you were awoken to a loud CRASH! In your home, quickly sitting up to look around your dimly lit room. The rising sun was the only thing illuminating the entire way to the door, quickly snapping out of the frozen shock you reach for inside your nightstand. Grabbing a pocket knife, slowly inching your way to the downstairs of your home. Assuming that's where the crash was located. Grabbing the edge of the wall, you peek around the corner to your living room, immediately noticing your TV screen was broken. Glass shards all over the floor below the now busted TV, whoever broke into your home was a real piece of shit.

Taking the knife out of the built in container you grip it with just enough force so your shaking hands won't drop it, slowly but quietly making your way throughout the house. Footsteps from behind startle you as you jump, trying to turn to see the culprit. Only leading to your eyes to be covered and a hand against the one gripping the knife, you're in shock from how quick this all took place. But before you could say anything you hear a voice that's all too familiar,”Its just me.” You flinched at his hot breath against your ear,”Leon?..” You asked.

Confusion replaces your fear as you managed to escape from his hands, turning around to see it was Leon . . . Your eyes widen,”How are you?-” You trace a circle around his body in the air, trying to find the right words,”Here? In your home?” He seems all too giddy about this situation,”Yeah, Uh..” You put the pocket knife in your sweatpants pocket, staring at him. His body now covered in those black veins like you saw during the playthroughs. Leon snickers,”I honestly don't know, but I'm glad I'm out of it.” I praise lord saddler for he has sent me to this world to rid it of its sins.. 

You pointed at him before pointing in the kitchen,”You hungry? Or do you like . . . not eat?” Leon just shrugs, this whole situation has gone so quickly to the point you don't know how to react, do you scream? Cry? Cheer? You chalked up to what you need to do is just treat him like a house guest at least, it's the best thing you could do right now. Leon bit his bottom lip, walking into your kitchen,”I'm used to eating raw eggs and snakes, so I atleast want to try.” I want to eat you. He jokes, following him as you get him something simple. Cereal, placing the bowl on the counter next to him before clasping your hands together,”How is this going to work? Like, are we going to pretend you were never in a video game? Are you going to get a job or?..” Leon shrugs,”There's no record of my existence, popping out of a video game doesn’t include what you need to even work at a fast food joint.” You sigh, watching him eat as you grab a broom and dustpan,”What’chu doing?” He says with a mouthful of cereal.

You started sweeping up the glass,”Cleaning the shitty mess you made.” Leon finishes up surprisingly quick before grabbing your hands into a still,”Its my mess, ill clean it.” You shrug, nestleing down on the couch. You were not going to complain for a free cleaning service,”I guess no more movies . . . ” Sighing as you watch Leon dump the glass into a trashcan, setting the broom and dustpan down he sits down beside you.

A/N: So sorry its been a year since I updated this story but im fully back on the Moon Knight hype right now and I actually have part four written, part five half written and the rest of this story *mostly* planned out! For the purposes of this story, lets just pretend Harrow has the ability to give people strength or make them need to sleep... As always, spelling and grammar are not my strongest skills so please be kind :)

Nothing.

The first thing you notice when you wake up is that you feel nothing. No aches, no pain, no shortness of breath. Before you fell asleep you felt so weak, you weren’t sure you would even make it thought the night. And now here you are feeling better than you did before Harrow made you ill.

You get out of bed and go straight to the door. To your surprise it opens. You half expected Harrow to have locked you in here. But then he probably thought you were still too ill to move.

This is your chance to escape.

You open the door as quietly as possible and try to remember the route back to the exit. The floorboards creak under your feet and you freeze, listening to hear if anyone is coming after you. You only hear silence so you continue.

Eventually you make it back to the communal area you had walked through yesterday, only now it is completely empty. It’s still night. Everyone must be asleep. You spot the exit ahead of you and your heart skips. This is it. You're free. Free to go to Steven.

But wait; Steven left you here.

Or did he? What if Harrow was lying? What if Steven is trapped here too?

You stare ahead at the exit, take a breath and turn away. Away from your chance at freedom.

Steven said he would find you. He promised. He wouldn’t just leave you here.

Which means he must be in trouble.

You have to find Steven.

You head back into the communal area, a huge stone walled courtyard with half crumbled arches and mismatched furniture. You pass the selection of random armchairs, all facing towards a giant screen. Past the shelves covered in various items, boxes and books. Past the tables and chairs and the small kitchen area. You reach the end of the room and as your about to start climbing up one of the sets of wooden stairs…

“You intrigue me, Y/N.” Harrows voice comes from the archway behind you. You turn around to see him step out into the light, his eyes fixed on you. “You could have left. The doors are open, there’s no one here to stop you and yet you didn’t leave. Why?”

“Did you want me to leave?”

“Oh no. Quite the opposite, I’m actually glad you decided to stay. What I do want is to know why?”

“Where’s Steven?” You ignore his question.

“Ah.” He says, nodding with understanding. “You believe he’s still here.”

“I know he’s here.”

“What makes you sure?”

“He wouldn’t abandon me.”

“No you're quite right. I can’t imagine Steven Grant would do such a thing.” He pauses. “But Marc Spector did.”

“I don’t know what you're getting at, but I already know all about Marc. Steven told me everything.”

“What exactly did he tell you?”

“The truth. He said he didn’t fully understand it himself but there’s this other person, Marc, living inside of him and that he is basically the reason Steven’s life has been falling apart. Sometimes Marc takes over the body and does things… are you saying that Marc took over and forced Steven to leave me here?”

“Let’s take a seat.” He moves over to the closest table, sitting down and gesturing for you to sit opposite him.

You stare at him for a moment, watching as he leans his cane against his chair and places his hands on the table in front of him. He looks back up at you again then back to the empty chair. You sigh as you pull out the chair and sit opposite him with your arms folded across your chest, leaning back away to create distance between the two of you.

“Steven Grant doesn’t exist.” He starts and you look at him confused. “Marc Spector created this Steven persona and ran away to England in an attempt to escape the many sins of his past. He is a very bad man Y/N, he has done some terrible things. He was a mercenary. He killed a lot of people and got in a lot of trouble. That is why he made up Steven. He pretended to be someone else just so he could hide. But it wasn’t real. His gentle personality. His job at the museum. His friendship with you-”

“No-”

“-It was all an act Y/N, and I am so very sorry to have to tell you that. Truly I am.”

“Just stop-”

“I know how much you cared for this Steven-”

“You're lying!”

“You're feeling better now, yes?”

“What?”

“You're alive, you feel no more pain. Why do you think that is?” He reaches into his pocket and pulls something out, placing on the table in the middle of you both. “He gave me this.”

It’s the scarab beetle.

“He gave me this and told me to keep it. And you.” Harrow explains, a false sympathetic look on his face. “He told me he has no use for either of you anymore.”

You can’t take your eyes off the golden beetle in front of you. Your heart sinking further and further with every second as you take in what Harrow is telling you.

“I know this is a lot to process Y/N but there is one more thing I must tell you. You are free to leave if that is what you wish-”

“Great!” You get up out your seat and start to walk away.

“But I really think you should stay.”

“Why the hell would I do that?!”

“Because if you leave you will become weak again and you will die.” He states, making you stop and turn back.

“What?! No, he gave you the scarab and now I’m okay, that was the deal.”

“An error on my part.” He stands, taking a step towards you. “I failed to mention that in order to keep you alive Ammit must restore your strength every day. Through direct contact with me.”

“You..? How?”

“A simple touch of my hand.”

You remember him last night, placing his hand on your head right before you fell asleep.

“You healed me last night?” More of a statement than a question.

“I did.” He takes another step closer to you.

“But you told me Steven had left with the scarab. Why did you lie to me?”

“I was trying to protect you, protect your feelings. I knew you weren’t strong enough for the hurt that the truth would cause.”

“And you think I’m strong enough for it now?” you scoff and he reaches his hand out to hold yours.

“You are stronger than you know Y/N.” He locks eyes with you, his bright blue eyes almost staring into your soul. “Ammit sees something special in you. That is why she’s allowing you to live.”

You shake him off, taking a step back as you gather yourself. You take a breath.

“So either I stay as a prisoner for the rest of my life or go out there and die? Are those really my only options?”

“You're not a prisoner, Y/N, there are no locked doors. No guards forcing you to stay. You could live a happy life with us.”

You think for a moment.

“Or option three; I leave, go live my own life in my own home and then I’ll just come back here every day so you can top up the life support.”

“That won’t work I’m afraid. I move around a lot from place to place, there is no way of knowing exactly where I will be from one day to the next. The safest option for you is to join me.” He pauses. “Join us.”

He raises his arms out to the side as small groups of disciples begin emerging from the doorways and shadows, all facing you. The way they’re all looking at you makes you feel uneasy.

“Just to be clear, if I agree to stay with you that does not mean I’m on your side. It’s purely self preservation, okay? I am not helping you find Ammit. I will not help you murder innocent people. Got that?” Arthur nods. “Good.”

“Good.” he echos, smiling.

“Okay. So what happens now?”

“Now, we go to Cairo.”

🌺 Low Spoon Gyaru 🌺

Gyaru is one of those lifestyles that isn’t necessarily focused on luxury brands or bougie stuff but is high maintenance to some extent. High maintenance can be several things: effort, time or money. Here are my tips on doing gyaru with minimum effort for those who are low on energy.

Keep in mind for some things to be effortless the price may go up.

Gyaru has 5 “pillars”:

Tan:

Not every gal has to be tan, theres sub-styles that don’t require it such as hime-gyaru. The tanning in gyaru was developed to fight beauty standards in Japan. Depending on where you are maybe tanning is the beauty standard maybe it isn’t. To me the important part is having healthy skin you feel confident in so I’ll twist this pillar to hygiene instead.

If you’re low spooning opt to do the pit stop:

Basically one shower for everything:

- clean your body, wash your face, brush your teeth and wash your hair (if it’s hair wash day)

Some people may find it gross but honestly it’s convenient. You’re already there, water is already running. Instead of having several steps you can just do everything in one place.

After wards it’s just treating face, body and hair. Start by your face so you don’t have to rinse your hands whenever you change products.

You may find yourself a bit more energized and happy for once you’re all clean and ready for the day.

Clothing:

Personally clothing is relatively easy if you already have a gyaru closet going on however if you don’t thats fine. Stick to a couple of safe and easy outfits: comfy and sexy are two words that should be in your outfit. Gyaru isn’t really a clothing focused style and almost everything can be made gyaru as long as the hair and makeup are top notch. Choose your favorite feature in your body and exploit it.

Personally, to me my legs are my best feature. So I base my outfits around that. Shorts, skirts, socks and leg warmers are my favorite accessories. Notice how these outfits look gyaru but there’s no heavy accessorizing and nothing gets in the way? Thats what you should strive for

If making outfits is something you struggle with go to Pinterest and check some outfits out, look for regular outfits and see how they can be gyaru-fied. Everskies is an amazing app where you can create outfits as well. Try to create stuff there. Theres groups in apps like amino where you can get crit and ask for tips.

Keep the clothing you like at an easy access place, maybe the front of your closet, maybe a rack outside. Repeating items and outfits is ok.

Makeup:

Here’s where it gets a but more complex. Some gals say no make no gal, others say it’s completely fine. To me even though makeup is a huge part of it, gal is about lifestyle and ideals.

Personally I’ve managed to reduce my makeup routine from 1-2 hours to 5-15 minutes. Obviously makeup requires skill and practice so maybe what takes someone a minute may take you 5 (such as eyeliner or lashes)

To reduce time select that which you don’t enjoy and remove it. Heres a list of things I don’t do:

Foundation: I have acne, I used to hide it by wearing foundation but im not embarrassed by it anymore. I really don’t use it unless I want to have like a seamless moment for an activity or if im posting on social media. Most of the time I wear foundation im not really doing Gyaru makeup anyways

The nose contour: Im black, my nose doesn’t look good with the whole stripe contour moment. Plus it looks odd from the sides. If i do wear foundation I follow my natural line to bring definition back to the face but i try to avoid if

Contacts: not really makeup but I hate them

Basically most of my makeup centers on the eye area. And even then you can avoid some steps.

If you color your eyebrows you can be up to 3 weeks with color so technically you can avoid doing your eyebrows besides from brushing and grooming (if necessary).

You can get eyelash extensions, now days lash techs are posting their lash maps and some pf them are creating anime/manga themed lashes which match the appearance of some daiso lashes.

You can half line your eyes instead of trying to do a full line eyeliner look. This is easier put visually but hopefully y’all get the gist. I might do a tutorial in the future. Honestly makeup is the only thing you really need the spoons for and even then removing some aspects that do not serve you can reduce it by a lot.

Nails:

Get press ons. Seriously there’s a bunch of people on Instagram making beautiful sets and they’re relatively cheap. You only have to prep your nail a lil and put them on.

Hair:

Hair is a bit complex as it kinda depends on the sub style you’re under. However for most (excluding hime) you only need layers. To me gyaru hair is very similar to scene kids once they’re leaving the style. The layers are a bit long, there’s some nice facial framing, color and cute bangs. If your hair meets these, you can just leave it as it is honestly.

Braids are a low maintenance option as well as wigs. Or simply having your natural hair texture theres not a lot of images of gyaru hair outside of straight and wavy, but hair is hair you don’t need a certain texture to pull it off just the main features. Curly hair can have bangs and layers. You can do layers and bangs with braids + add any color you like.

Worst part about braids is having to sit at the chair for hours but if you have the spoons for it, do it, you can be up to 3 weeks (more or less) with braids so that’s something you don’t have to worry about for quite a while.

For wigs, I recommend wigs that already have bangs in them, you just need to plop your hair in a cap and pop it on. It takes practice but once you get the hang of it it takes no time. Also it’s best to divide it in 2: put your wig cap at night, put your wig on the next day, that way it’ll be less exhausting

For straight hair, get one of those hair drier brushes, takes less effort than a blow drier + brush. You can skip the iron and you get volume so you can skip any extra steps.

For those with wavy and curly hair, work on finding the right products for yourself. The diffuser is your friend tbh in this case is just technique and good products. +++ remember to put your hair on a pineapple and bonnet to retain the curls.

For easy hair styles:

Twin claw clip tails

Half up half down (with claw clips)

Half up, half down pigtails

Space buns (low space buns are easier)

Literally almost anything involving one bug claw clip is a massive go to hair style

Getting unbearable. Feeling sick. Started working to afford hormones only to find out the service that is most accessible to me (plume) doesnt offer T in alabama anymore due to changing laws. Fuck all these stupid politicians putting their noses in others lives.

Thought people at work wouldnt make a super huge deal, as I was selective with who I told, so i thought maybe I could hold out a bit longer and at least i wouldnt have to feel so dysphoric all the time, since all my coworkers knew me as Monte. But then instead of my name, people who would usually call anyone else by their name started calling me “Miss” and “maam”

Even the ones I had come out to, and even the ones who told me they were accepting.

Whatever, im from a small rural area, so transphobia is not new to me, what is new to me, however, is being openly trans in an unfamilliar environment. I thought I could start T quickly and maybe people would ever forget that im trans in the first place, but now its been so long.

Some people call me He, and use the right pronouns, but increasingly lately Ive received a myriad of transphobia.

Being called tranny loudly while my coworker kicks my broom as I try to sweep (kicking hard enough for the broom to almost leave my hands and hit another person behind me) , Getting called “it” behind my back. Stuff like this is becoming more common.

The two coworkers who called me it, have been spreading lies about my work performance these past five days, Ive been told my three different people that every time I leave to go do something they start talking badly of me. So I got to my breaking point, at this point it had nothing to do with the pronouns, I was just upset that two forty+ year old adults were purposefully making my job harder to do while I was also struggling with a ton of other stuff (ptsd, seasonal depression, a family members recent suicide) and so I couldnt stop crying.

Despite this situation having nothing to do with me being trans, they are now trying to spread the narrative that Im just being sensitive because they were misgendering me while they were borderline bullying me.

If I was not trans, people would take me seriously on these issues. But now, because I am upset, suddenly Im just a stereotype. A sensitive trans person who is offended because someone used the wrong pronouns a few times.

I will be one to say, I do not give a SHIT about my pronouns. Ive been called the wrong ones my whole life by a majority of people. That was never the issue. So i was talking with my pals on the eeby-gliscord and i found out that almost NO ONE has played the pokemon MMO

so here i am. rambling about it, becuase i need more people to know about it

so like..... the game was apparently made in 2004 by some very passionate dudes. It took from 1999-2004 to be fully developed and for the first release to come out.

One thing that was notable was the fact it was a once buy game, you didnt need a subscription to keep yuor account active, the downside being is that you had a limited amount of playtime for one week (the devs needed to save on bandwith and the like). That said you couuuld pay for a subscription for stuff like early access to the updates, a general prestigue on your social status within the game, higher drop rates (but only on the cosmetic items), adn the ability to play as long as you wanted.

The gameplay was by far the best part. You had a selection of starters to pick from, i think the game launched with 3, but when the final update released it was a total of 24 (that 8 times as much!!!)

once you picked your starter you would play AS THE POKEMON. that was the main selling point, playing as the pokemon. It was honestly amazing for me, given.... yknow.

Now, this game apparently had a bit of controversy, since there were no humans in any area int he map.... and the gamplay consisted of going through the overworld, entering towns, making a guild with your pals..... and exploring dungeons...

People called the game a ripoff of Pokemon mystery dungeon for this reason, even though there were a LOT of things different. There was ACTUAL equipment, and crafting, adn a skill tree to unlock more pokemon moves, where you leveled up by gaining experience for beting mobs!

But the most damning evidence for it not being a ripoff was the other selling point. Being able to SWITCH YOUR POKEMON SPECIES.

yeah. Basically you gained these "species points" for completing dungeons, and you could use them to unlock new species! To evolve a species you had to gain evolution points from overworld bosses, not the dungeon ones.

And going back tot he equipment, the equipables were determined by type, and the synergies you could make if you were a pokemon of two types.... damn the amount of just, things you could do was genuinly incredible!!!!

....there was one problem though, you had to be in a town to change your species. whihc meant you could sometimes run into incredibly bad scenarios.

....BUT

by completing one of the LONGEST QUESTILNES IN MMO HISTORY, you could... unlock.... MEW!!!

whihc had the unique skill: transform!

It was so broken, i beat so many goddamn PVP battles with elisa and dominic thanks to this.

two versions of the same people existing at the same time, one being unaware of it

what im getting at is that once you get these people from the banners, the sunshines become separate entities compared to the ones that are fixed in the storyline

they now have an independent will, however limited it is to express it

now, back to the topic at hand

on one version of this au, i can fully see that if the nova is not on a specific area the people within the vicinity acts more "human-like"

or at least maybe in the eyes of the low friendship level sunshines ig

since they are free to do so without the code interfering their movements

the sunshines who arent in the party will be going on about their lives unless the nova pulls them in

if called in, the sunshine's consciousness will be pulled in and will manifest at the back of the current sunshine on-field

while their earthshine self will take over whatever they were doing initially

if what their previous goal at hand had to do with anything with their version of forbidden knowledge, the earthshine will forget immediately

and will just proceed to do their other tasks

being forced to not wonder why they were doing something out of character, or rather in character for some, in the first place

they (the earthshines) may try and remember the details but no, the code will just make them dismiss it

this is the version where these people are still helpless against the code

which is where friendship levels will kick in

the higher your friendship level, the more likely they can "break" your game

both the aurora and the sunshine will gain more traction when it comes to communicating with their nova

the other version is that the sunshines themselves are in the "storage room"

a.k.a. the party selection screen

the ones not in the current party will have access to your device your apps you current tabs the serenity teapot so long as the nova isn't within it at the moment

they will be booted immediately once the nova's loading screen kicks up

Wanna redo my old Bleach autism post as it’s pretty much gone anyways due to my remaking and I’m older but I’d like to do it with multiple characters this time. HOWEVER, I’m already so far into my reread I’ll go fucking insane if I do it right away as I’d have to GO BACK and reread again. Anyways, the focus was gonna be Ichigo, Orihime, Chad, Kisuke, Byakuya, Mashiro, Kensei, and Riruka. I tried to branch it out a bit so there’s main characters and then random ones but a few more is fine. I have more headcanons than this I just don’t wanna overdo it by including TOO many characters. This could be a fun project if I do it with someone else that feels the same way! Maybe get a person per character? Ichigo will be...a LOT, I’m sure. I don’t wanna forget that I wanna do this so I’m typing this out. I am VERY focused on Digimon right now and my one track mind shows but I do actually intend to do this. It won’t be an edit or anything like that. A long post more like? I can talk a lot but I’m not writer, y’know? OK OK WHEN I FINISH THE OTHER PARTS I'LL REBLOG THIS W/ THEM BUT FOR NOW WE'LL FOCUS ON THE FIRST SECTION: CLAN.

This is the Flight Rising Main Menu! Here, you'll find links to almost everything there is to do. As you can see I have numbered a few things 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Today I will quickly explain 6 and then go into detail about 1, Clan.

6 is your food bar. If you keep all the dragons in your lair fed above 80% for 3 days you will get:

+5 gathering turns a day

1 gem each day

250 treasure per day

15% more experience battling in the Coliseum

Now that that's done, lets look into Clan!

When you click on clan, you will get something similar to this. I also have labeled this 1-6 for convenience. Let me explain what each thing is:

Nesting grounds! When you pair two dragons together, a male and female, you can get between 1-5 eggs. These eggs take 5 days to hatch. Each day you have to press an 'incubate' button in order to get them to hatch. When you press 'incubate' on the last day, you have to wait for the next day to hatch them. Also dragons do have a breeding cool down. This is a key feature in the game.

Dragons! This one I felt needed a diagram, as it has so many features.

There is a feed button(1). After gathering items and turning them into food points, you can feed your dragons in order to get the bonuses explained at the top of the page. There is a settings option(2):

In the settings you can get more lair space using treasure(1) which means you can hold more dragons. You can also buy tabs(2) which are used to store dragons(See: the tabs named 'Lair, Lore Hatchery, MBS, TBS'), you can add a description(3) of each tab for organization purposes, and you can move dragons to either a new tab(4) or the Hibernal Den(5).

The Hibernal Den(3 in Clan overview, 5 in Lair Settings) is an extra place to store dragons. It functions really the same as the lair, with a few changes. Once you put a dragon in the Hibernal Den and take it back out, it has a cooldown before it can go back in. Another thing is once a dragon is in the Hibernal Den, it cannot be fed, bred, bonded with familiars, traded via Crossroads, sold on the Auction House, put on a Coliseum team, or exalted. The upside to this is A) more space in lair, B) doesn't get 'hungry'/doesnt need to be fed. The final change is that more space in the hibernal den can either be achieved by gathering certain amounts of items, or paying with gems.

Now back to the basic lair, I do not need to explain number 5, the tabs, as those already have been explained. Number 4 is just the dragons in your lair. You click on it and you can see the dragon, give it a familiar, write a bio for it, dress it up, and more.

Now moving on to 3.

In the gathering area you can gather, dig, scavenge, etc 15 times(1). Now hunting, fishing, insect catching, and foraging are all ways to get food to feed your dragons(2, 2, 2, and 2.). Digging and scavenging give you different types of materials(3, 4), some only found in certain locations. You can also occasionally get money chests from digging.

I'm gonna get 4 and 6 out of the way because my hands are getting so tired. In 4:

you can write about what you do and stuff, you can see your friends, you can make posts in the forums, and you can see your recent activity(hatchlings and stuff).

Last but not least in the Clan section, is the Hoard.

Number 1 is the categorizing tabs, in each tab is the different things you get. Number 2 is how you switch between the hoard and the vault(hoard but shinier, i use it to shove extra money in there so i have both backup cash and to stop my bad spending habits.) 3 is when you select food(little boxes by the number of how much you have) or when you select all(5) you can convert the food to points and that is how you feed your dragons. Also if youve selected stuff you can put it in the vault(4)

The journey was long and with no stops for a brake i was so tired.Our ikrans had to rest but in the middle of the sea there was nothing we could land on.Most of the time the weather wes good but there was a storm at least 1 time.I was so scared for my life.Sometimes i thought i was going to die.Even if i did not it was still scary.

Dad said that the sea clans inhabit a world of their own.Thousands of islands.An unknown area where we will be able to disappear without a trace.He was right noone would find us hire.

 I dont even know how long we were flying for but if im right it was the second day that we came to an island.I have to say it was beautiful.The water hire was calm and so pretty.I could even see some of the animals swimming in it.As we got into the reef i could see the people look up at us in wonder.

I dont blame them if someone i have never seen before just came in my home i would be looking as well.We were looking for somewhere to land as dad started to fly to the ground that was covered with sand.As we landed Aza and the res tof the ikrans made a loud noise.We all got down from our ikrans as we started to make our way to the people.

I have a question! If you don’t mind. I love your gifsets, they look amazing. I was wondering if you would be able to provide tips on how to overlay multiple scenes and still keep both scenes looking clear and detailed despite overlapping?

hi! im going to turn this into a tutorial (which is probably more long-winded than you were looking for but oh well). if you're confused about anything just lmk!

(this tutorial is estimated at intermediate level. it is under the assumption that you have basic gif making understanding)

we are going to be working with two gifs of greta (my beloved). try to pick lighter/medium light gifs until you start to feel more confident with coloring

these gifs have no color, speed, or anything added to them, so this is your absolute baseline gif

go ahead and group each gif's layers into one. to do that, go to the toolbar above: select - all layers - group all layers (if you are using a mac you can hit command - shift - G). name them whatever you want, but make sure each gif has a different group name because we are going to be stacking them and it will get confusing if they're both Group 1

once the layers are grouped, we are going to go to the timeline of one gif, click the icon with three horizontal lines, click select all frames. it should highlight all of your frames in blue.

then you are going to click the same icon on the timeline and select 'copy frames'

next you're going to move into the next gif you want to use and follow the same process (timeline icon - select all frames) the only thing different is that you are going to select paste frames instead of copy frames!!!

click on 'paste over selection' and hit OK

your toolbar to the side should look like this, with group 1 and group 2 together. once they are together on the same tab, you can rearrange them however you want.

next, go through your normal editing process. i'm putting what i used below

now we are going to get into the actual blending. this took a little bit for me to learn but i followed tutorials similar to this and now i'm fairly comfortable with my process. everyone does it differently so feel free to workshop it!

go up to your toolbar on the lefthand side and grab your dotted ellipse selection tool (should be around the crop button). draw a circle around your gif (you can do whatever size you want; sometimes i only do a person, sometimes i do the entire gif. doing the entire gif allows you to erase more if you want to)

then head up to the toolbar at the top and hit select - refine edge - and then fiddle with the settings until you like it (it really doesn't matter that much just go with your gut tbh)

after you hit OK, head down to your workspace on the right and at the bottom there is a circle inside of a square. this is a mask and it's super important for blending. click it. now you should see a vector mask on top of one of your groups of choice (mine is on group one)

now it's free time! use your eraser tool to make your masked gif more transparent, or use your paintbrush tool to bring some areas into focus. i use large eraser and paint brushes with low opacity and just click and drag until i like what i have

next, before we go forward, we need to make sure our 2 separate groups are actually 1 group. to do this, you're going to use the same method from earlier (select all layers - group layers or command - shift - G). now it should say 'group 3'. that's perfect.

now, go back to that horizontal icon in your timeline. find 'convert to video timeline' and it will change your individual frames into one long gray bar. we do NOT want it to be gray, so to change that and make it editable we scroll up to the top toolbar, find 'filter', and click 'convert for smart filters'. this will turn your timeline purple. that's perfect! now its editable.

now we want to change the frame rate (otherwise it's gonna be super slow and laggy). go back to that timeline horizontal icon (man i use this a lot more than i think...i need a new name for it) and there should be something that says 'timeline frame rate' or something similar. when you click it, you're going to see a pop-up that asks the fps. change that baddie to 10 (it will probably be at 30 before you change it...that's gross don't keep that)

now we can sharpen! sharpening is SUPER important and its what makes the gifs crisp, even when on top of each other. besides coloring, sharpening is the best thing to do for great quality.

at the top, find 'filter'. scroll down to 'sharpen', hit 'smart sharpen' and my personal settings are on the right there. use them if you want, they're a pretty standard setting that i actually got from other users

now your gif is super crisp!!! the BEST thing to do now is change the image size. this is going to make it a little bit sharper and more defined since we are reducing the size but keeping the sharpened settings. you must always do sharpening before image resizing to get the best gif results.

(as a final touch to keep speed correct, i will save the gif and then reopen it, change the timeline speed to .05, and save again. if that's confusing just lmk)

and voila! you're done! this is the final gif. she's clear, she's crisp, she's beautiful. we love.

Paintbrush, PlasGlue, and Holy Clippers: Day 8(+3): Base & Finishing

A day late cuz I decided to put Materials on the mini-stands and needed to seal that, but here we go!

Ok so: The Elf Rangers came with little seethrough stands of their own

which is an idea I actl like as it lets them fit well into any environment you might put together for an adventure, but the problem is the best way to transport minis is by gluing magnets to their bases and putting them in steel-or-iron-bottomed carriers, and these aren't recessed so a magnet doesn't have any place to fit. Of course, a wide enough one wouldn't settle the awkwardness and be stable enough for the mini to sit on, but you dont want TOO big a magnet or getting them off the carrying-surface becomes a pain. But: all that only occurred to me right now and I wanted to practice my basing anyway so I ditched these u_u

I had some small(23mm diameter) basic black minibases lying around so I used those instead. Since these are Roleplaying mini there's even less justification doing anything fancy for their basing that for GW ones but the thing is: I Want To u_u u_u So I stuck them to some painting stands with stickytack, and got out some caliban green and a #4 brush

I painted the bases green in two coats, and when that was dry, one at a time, painted some PVA glue onto their tops, then dunked them in battlefield rumble for ~10 seconds, gently pressed that in, then cleaned up the edges and gave it an hour to dry.

That's what it looked like at-application. I decided I'd try using varnish as a sealant for the bases this time so, after washing the brush under running water for a few minutes to make sure I'd gotten to glue out(as an aside: glue seems to help get stubborn paints out of the synthetic bristles on these brushes? Nothing rigorous about that aside, just me noticing the green pigment washed out much better when I was cleaning the glue from the brush than it did swishing it in the waterpot) and giving the glue an hour to dry and set, I got out my matte varnish(Stormshield again; I actl bought some vallejo matte varnish to try out but forgot X| X| X| I'll use it on the next project. I'd imagine they're pretty similar tho), painted that on with the same #4 brush making sure not to let it goop in all the recesses, then set them aside for a day.

So: back to the minis. I did my usual two coats of matte all over the figures over two day, but I DID decide to add a layer of gloss varnish to their hair just to make it POP that little bit more cuz 1)I FRIGGIN LOVE Hair, and 2)they're Elves, Dear Readers u.u u.u That meant another day of drying before I could do anything with them

THEY LOOK SO GOOD! And the photos really don't do them justice; the range of colors, spcl in Archer's hair, is Very Pleasing, and the gloss finish works particularly well with Handbow's dark hair :>(at somepoint I need to think up better names -__-) I DO feel like I maybe should have done a gloss finish on a few pieces of the armor, Archer's breastplate is spcl dull with the matte, but it still looks great; just something to file away for future projects. I suppose I COULD add a thinned down layer of gloss to a few places still but Im worried about putting too much varnish on.

Back to the bases. Here's the rubble after a day

I repeated the process to attach the grass; painting the PVA onto select areas(and being generous there to avoid the looseness with the Intercessors) then dunking it in the green field box. Simply because of it's nature as a bunch of small plastic threads I had to do some initial knocking off I didn't have to do with the rubble after the "pressing gently" step, and repeated the dunking a few times to get nice coverage. Here's how that looked at application, and then after an hour of drying.

Pre-sealing the grass is Beautifully, Fluffily Rambunctious, sticking up every which way, but the glue itself just wont be enough to keep it there, so I wanted to try sealing this with varnish too. But: I didn't just want to paint it directly On the grass, as that would flatten it. So instead, while sometimes spreading it to apply, I tried to kinda POKE the varnish at the base of the grass and onto the blades, kinda fluffing them as I went in an attempt to not lose all that wonderful chaotic frizz. Here they are at-application, and then a day later(friday morning) before I attached the minis.

I think I did a Really good job preserving the frizz on the left one(Archer's base), but kinda flubbed the technique a bit with HB's. It looked a BIT better after a day, tho.

So as you've noticed, and my above-the-cut alludes, the minis' include a little stand connecting their feet. Again: you don't really need to do anything about this, but I wanted to. The stand itself has a bit of a rocky or stone texture on it, so I COULD have painted it brown to present it as a sort of outcropping, or gray as just as large flat stone the characters are standing on, but I didn't want to do that SO: I got back out the caliban green and, using the same brush, painted THOSE, too, in maybe 1.5 coats, gave them an hour to dry, and... forgot to take any picks of it in my excitement to Get On With It -__- Oops

So I bscl did the same thing to incorporate the stands; I painted them with PVA, applied rock and then grass, sprinkling it on over their respective containers, let that dry for an hour, then painted on the varnish to seal. Here's some pics at-application

After taking these pics I used some PVA to attach some army painter tuffs(woodland, swamp, and meadow flowers) around the bases and here's how that looks!

And the Elves are Done!

For some absolute Crap Minis I didn't particularly care about I think they came out alright ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ The underbrush around Archer's feet might be A BIT over done tho :p :p How to do Hair was an interesting puzzle and I really liked how it came out in the end, with the gloss finish really helping to integrate those metallic highlights with the darker recess tones. It was Tough but Rewarding to work around all the sculpt-problems these ones had, but also opened up interesting possibilities, like the headplates/armortiaras, that I ended up really digging. Generally I think the contrast paints worked well, despite their sticking issues to this prime/plastic, and I feel like this project gave me a real good feel for what they can be used for in minipainting, as well as practice building up complex colors through layering, and next time I'll def try using a gloss-finish on the armor bits for a more fantasy-look. Next time I'd REALLY like to experiment with fantasy skintones :> I had fun with the basing and learned allot using this sealing methods though next I'd like to give spray-seals a go, and maybe painting the base rather than just relying on the mats themselves. Generally I like how everything turned out, but I think from now on I might just stick to unadorned black bases for these D&D minis as I feel like this more adorned approach kinda pushes against their practical function u_u

So Onward and Upward! For my next project I'll.... Need more photospace as I've already used my limit for this post :p :p I guess you'll have to wait and see uvu

Week 3 Design Fundamentals Penguins!! 10th March

Hello, and welcome to my class 3 of design fundamentals post! to start of with I just wanted to say that I really liked this class and I enjoyed exploring new tool in Illustrator, and being creative with design choices.

Before I start talking about this class I am going to share my project work from last class. firstly here are the two images that I gave my partner to Illustrate.

I thought these two would be fairly simple, but have their challenges with having to use broken and hybrid points in some areas. And down below are the drawings I made from the images I was given. I found the goldfish one to be more difficult due to not fully remembering steps, and having to go back to my notes to check how todo things. But when I did the rooster I had got the hang of it better and found it easier. A challenge I did face while Illustrating them both, was not knowing that I could lock layers, So I kept on accidentally working on the wrong layers and having to redo steps. But now I know how.

So now we get to what we did in our week 3 class, which was make Penguins!! Below will be images of my progress and notes.

Here is the first thing we had todo, which was make this sort of ghost shape. We started by creating a circle then, splitting it in half by selecting half of it, then using the cutting command to remove it then copy it elsewhere, so we had now to seperate elements. The I had to join the two half together with lines, by selecting the anchor points and shift, then using command J to join them. And lastly we added new points and adjusted the curves to create the ghost tail. (also I will have an image of all the notes I took at the end of the post)

Now we are at the stage of not having a ghost blob and now having a more penguin looking shape that I think looks like Pingu. Mostly everything we did here, by adding and adjusting new shapes, was very similar to all the other steps we had done so far, so It was pretty easy. (We also made sure to save our projects after each step.) But the eyes were a bit different to make. We had to change the colour of the eyes and fill them in, and then add a radial gradient effect to the eyes to get the yellow around the black iris. Then copy one eye to now have two. while we were working on the eyes I learnt a lot about the stroke and fill sections and how to swap between the two and more about what they do. learning the radial gradient tool has been really helpful to me recently as I was able to use it for my graphic design poster assignment.

here is an image of the start of creating a penguin foot. This was one of the more complicated parts of making the penguin as we had to add dimension to them with different layers, stroke and fill options and colours. But here I had just flipped the top half of my foot to make a whole foot for my penguin. Before skewing it to add more dimension to it. I also put the background grid on to help me keep my handles on likes and shapes more proportionate.

This is an image of some of the option windows I had open for different tasks like the stroke and where it would be compared to the initial line, the pathfinder and the swatch section.

Here we were creating different layers before locking them etc for colouring in the penguins. I enjoyed learning about layers on Illustrator as I have only ever learnt about photoshop layers which are different.

And tada here we have my final penguin! Here it is fully coloured a shaded, using layers of layers to layer on the shadows and highlight. And using the pen tool to make the shapes of shading like the light blue around the pengiun's face. Also the opacity tool lower the opacity of different shadows. was used to The the I really enjoyed this and being wild with my shaping and Im really happy with how it turned out! Overall a really fun lesson and I learnt a lot. and I'm excited to use my new found skills in other classes.
