I wanted to make and post this in Valentines Day but real life got in the way, so no time like the present. What Spy x Family or TwiYor fan doesn't love Loid and Yor Forger, while hoping that they'll turn from a portend couple to a real one. We can all see the sparks between them.

About movie parallels and telephatic connections

As a teenager I was quickly impacted by the bond Taichi and Sora (from Digimon) shared, much deeper than others, as brightly put in the novels:

“Because of the smooth two-top coordination that Taichi and Sora showed within their soccer plays, he must have gotten the mistaken impression that they shared a telepathic link. Perhaps he thought Sora would use it to get Taichi to come flying out to see him.”

It wasn’t just a male main character meant for the female one. It was conflictous, complex, realistic and pretty much solid. 

There was no way not to worship them.

Some say Sora is obsessed with windows but in reality she was trying to connect to Taichi all the time.

I’m getting older but still very much obsessed with Tai and Sora’s connection. Yes, I’m a nearly forty years taiora trash.

That said, I watched Past Lives some time ago and I couldn’t help but draw a parallel with my favorite ship from the anime world.

It’s all there: the long term friendship, the growing apart, the “what ifs”, the one-sidedness, the complexity, bittersweetness and tenderness beyond place and time.

No, it can’t stay like this forever. Something will always remain not only in this but beyond life. “There is a word in Korean. In-Yun. It means "providence” or “fate”. But it’s specifically about relationships between people. I think it comes from Buddhism and reincarnation. It’s an In-Yun if two strangers even walk by each other in the street and their clothes accidentally brush. Because it means there must have been something between them in their past lives.”

(Wait, let me remove something that just fell in my eye. :~)

And it’s funny how, in the Last Evolution Kizuna movie art, if we take away the other characters, Sora and Tai trace parallel paths. And, from what I remember from school, parallel lines meet at the end, at always, at infinity.

So, in my headcanon, all this adorable-stormy-irreplaceable relationship will only get stronger over the years (physically or not).

I wanted to create an poster with Panty and Brief, an couple which I like a lot despite the disfunction it would generally have and how short the relationship will be in generally. I think the music video in question captures the relationship perfectly and would recommend for anyone who's a huge fan of the series and/or the couple in general.

I have a lot of annoying Dungeon Meshi theories, but the one that I genuinely think has decent textual support is that the supplementary material's remarks about Marcille and Falin being "friends" are actually accurate for the timeframe it's discussing: prior to the bathing scene, Marcille honestly didn't realise her feelings toward Falin had a romantic component. Up until that point she'd managed to convince herself that what she and Falin had going on was a perfectly normal friendship dynamic – notice that she aggressively reasserts that dynamic immediately afterwards in order to avoid having to rethink some shit! – and you can see the exact moment the "oh no" hits her.

a lot of people wear this shit like a badge of honor, but it’s also not normal to hide your “in-group” status as a form of martyrdom, relishing when the “enemy” slips up around you. it’s comforting in the moment, but in the long run, you’re alienating yourself from the world outside of your bubble. the more you alienate yourself, the more vulnerable and lonely you become, and the harder it is to reject the comfort of belonging to the “in-group”

i’m writing this from the perspective of someone who grew up in a cesspool of awful, cult-like rural churches—which is its own situation—but i see similar shit happening in online communities all the time, both within and 800 miles outside of my own ideological principles. yes, every toxicass radfem i block seems to be trapped in a version of this vicious cycle, but i also see it happening in random queer circles and niche fandom communities. no one is immune, not even me. i’ve watched people fall into this shit and never make it out. be careful
