This is inspired by the responses to the “What kind of mythical creatures” and “Why they live in a manor” asks.
The ST guys are cryptids that serve Sleep as vessels. Sleep wanted them to learn more about humans, so they made them live in a random flat somewhere in London disguised as perfectly normal everyday humans. Vessel is obviously a siren who has to learn to sing in a way that won’t change the sound of his voice but also won’t cause humans to seek out the nearest source of water deep enough to submerge their heads in, such as a puddle, bucket, sink, or a toilet that one horrible time. II is a gremlin and the only one with a steady job because taking shit apart also means you know how to put it back together and fix it. III is a fire fae that keeps accidentally starting small fires around the flat, so the other guys make him wear oven mitts. IV is a selkie, and that’s why he always has his jacket on. He’s paranoid that something will happen to it, and he’ll be stuck in human form.
Slice of life moments
The guys have to figure out how to use a stove. They eventually give up and make III hold the pot or pan while one of the other guys cooks the food.
Vessel and IV are trying to figure out what goes into the trash and what goes into the recycling. Meanwhile, II and III are trying to read the shopping list at the supermarket, but IV’s handwriting is awful. They give up and just picked up stuff they thought they’d need. They buy a lot of fish, which works out because about ¾ of the list was just different kinds of fish that Vessel and IV like.
Sirens mainly live underwater so Vessel sleeps in a giant fish tank to keep from drying out.
IV can only swing in his seal form. That’s his main reason for being paranoid about his jacket getting lost, stolen, or destroyed.
There’s this one kid who lives in the flat across from them who can see what they really are, and mythical creatures are their special interest. They keep asking them questions like:
“Why do you have six eyes, and do all sirens have that many?”
“Why do you like breaking stuff?”
“Why you got oven mitts on?”
“Is the jacket a piece of your body you can just take off?”
The guys hear a knock on the door, and II answers it. He sees the neighbor’s kid holding out a tooth they lost. She decided instead of waiting for the tooth fairy to go and see if III wanted it.
II yells into the flat, “III, it’s for you!”
III goes to the door and sees the kid holding out their tooth.
He sighs. “I’m not that kind of fae.”
The kid asks, “Then what kind are you!?”
A very exhausted III replied, “If I tell you, will you go away?”
Kid: “For the rest of the day.”
III: “I’m a fire fae.”
Kid: “Okay, bye.”
Early the next morning *knock, knock*
A very sleepy Vessel answers the door.
Kid: “Good morning, Mr. Six Eyes. Is the fire fae home?”
Vessel momentarily looks shocked before remembering this kid can see what he actually looks like. Then he notices that the kid is holding a bundle of pink fabric.
Vessel: “Please don’t call me ‘Mr. Six Eyes. That’s not my name. Also, what’s that?” pointing at the bundle of pink fabric.
Kid: “Well, what is your name? And is the fire fae home or not!?”
Vessel: “My name is Vessel.” He turns to yell into the flat: “III, it’s for you.”
An also tired III comes to the door and sees the kid.
III: “What do you want?”
Kid: “If you destroy this,” holding up the fabric bundle, “I’ll leave you alone for the rest of the week.”
III: “Make it the rest of the month, and you’ll have a deal.”
Kid: “OKAY!”
III removes his oven mitts and hands them to Vessel before taking the fabric bundle from the kid. It’s the ugliest pink dress that has and probably will ever exist. The dress burns a lot faster than III expected it to.
III: “Your mum made you wear that?”
Kid: “Yes.”
III: “Your mum’s a bit daft, isn’t she.”

for the sake of explanation even though it’s just my sona I’m gonna refer to myself in third person lmao.
In canon Au Sai is a mutant that was a marine biologist (I am not that irl sad it was something I wanted to study tho :( ) and had the ability to go to deep depths that humans typically couldn’t descend to because of there body having gills under their fur and their fur being basically insulation for deep waters (they would come out somewhat dry after being in the water, think magic and but not perfectly dry) and this was how they found Ferrol.
In this other au I think they would still be a marine biologist but they never went out to the trench at that time, maybe a punishment from Norman for trying to be a smart ass when they accused Norman of dumping oil and trash into the oceans.
So they got down graded away from the aquarium and ended up having to do a lot of paper work write up at a different lab, this lab happened to be where geneticized animals where being tested on to see if they could more helpful in the future for human kind.
Being a mutant they weren’t all to keen working in this area and they where pretty sure that’s why Norman placed them in there but the plus side was they made decent friends with a couple of the scientists there and would often go and see what they would be working on and give there opinions and thoughts.
At some point of time testing on spiders had began, now because of this they avoided the main labs for a short time as having a fear of spiders they didn’t really want to be around them, until they got an alert email.
A genetically modified Theridion grallator spider had seemingly gone missing, as small as it was they weren’t sure what damages it could do since they had yet to test this out.
As they read this and thought about leaving for the day till they found it, they felt a sharp nip on there neck, instantly slamming a hand down on to there neck they then found the poor creature, ah, they knew the other scientists weren’t going to be particularly happy but they were at fault for this one, should of taken better care of it.
Over the course of a few days they began to find themselves going through some changes, sure they where a shape shifter but there body was doing things that they knew couldn’t normally do and it was then that the process of Jester spider began to come into play.
some lil bits of info
- There spider name is Jester Spider due to the spider that bit them being called a clown faced spider, they designed there costume around a jester but they also gain a more exciting and freeing personality when in costume, thus calling themselves Jester.
- When in costume Sai does not speak, they use squeaks and honks to respond to situations, this is beneficial for them as not using there voice makes it a lot harder to figure out who they are.
- They modified there webbing so it acts still like webbing but also looks like silly string, each shot comes out a different colour. it’s also bio degradable so will often waste away after a day or so as if it were never there.
- Out of costume they seem to be more relaxed and almost tired all of the time, they prefer to take it easy. In costume they are more hyper and playful but they are also really hard to read, this makes them a rather chaotic foe for enemies as they really can not judge there next move.
- Before they got bit there tail wasn’t really that strong, it could be used to help them swim but they couldn’t really do much else with it, after getting bit they seem to be able to use it like a third arm, it’s able to pick things up as well as able to hang them from high places if they don’t particularly want to waste webbing.
- They have bells on there costume but for some reason can still move extremely stealth like, the bells only seem to ring excitedly during fights.
- They are extremely nimble although it does not look it from there size, but they can move and play the same way a jester would act and perform tricks.
- They don’t shape shift in costume, harder to do and they would be found out quick who they were.
- More mutant types are to be expected in this au and ‘Jester’ has been accused of favouring them over humans, which isn’t true but when humans are protesting mutants just living peacefully it’s a little hard not to choose sides.
- JJJ still calls them a menace so in defiance they break into JJJ’s office a lot and leave small harmless pranks around, they think it’s funny but only seems to annoy JJJ more.
- They have there own villains to deal with here but because of there unpredictable nature, villains tend to find ‘Jester’ very hard to deal with, espically since ‘Jester’ just tends to go in with no game plan other than stop villain and keep civilians safe, but villains aren’t actually ever sure if Jester would keep civilians safe just to stop them because they act so chaotic. (the answer is yes Sai will protect civilians even if it doesn't seem it)
- They can pull tech things they need out from under there hat, this includes web bombs, spider drones, etc, the fun part is they don’t ever actually know what they might pull out, so it could be helpful, might also not be.

I’m really struggling to imagine Troy as a father (if the rumor is true lol but I feel like it is) 😭. Whether his daughter is his biologically or not how do you think he would’ve raised her???
YES I've finally found the time to answer this ask! I have been burning to ever since I got it but was too busy until now.
OMG, nonny! That's the question, isn't it?! I've asked myself the very same thing more than once - and, unfortunately, can't quite land on an answer. I think the biggest problem is that we don't know anything about what Troy has been up to in the last 10? years between s3 and s8. So truthfully, anything could happen!
Also I do think there is a difference re: adopted kid vs. biological one. Mostly because there's a difference between being responsible for a baby (most vulnerable being) vs. taking in a older kid (fully formed human, own personality). So let's go through that bit by bit.
I think the baby would soften Troy very early on. I also think being so loving towards his own child would reopen old wounds and traumas, make him see the things he never got to have so who knows how that would go, right… he's not the best adapted person after all. Even so, I think that the way he would be needed by a baby (and the easy way they love/respond towards caregivers) would work wonders on him. Make him live up to being a good dad with a fierce determination. Not for himself, this time, but for the baby. I also think that the influence the mother could play on him can't be neglected (if she's still around haha). He does have his issues with parent-figures ('mommy issues', but also daddy issues) and so there's lots of opportunity for angsty, dramatic stuff happening between him and the mom - mostly I'm thinking of how he'd overreact to perfectly normal behavior of mom that would seem abusive to him - especially in the cases when she is tired/exhausted. At the same time there is also opportunity for lots of healing. Depending on mom's character this could end up being really good for him - or fucking him up further (especially if mom is manipulative etc). After all, we can't forget that Troy in s3 didn't really know yet who he was - remember Jeremiah telling Madison something along the lines of "Even Troy doesn't know what he'll do next/how he'll react". But I still think if he has a baby instead of an adopted kid the probability of him mellowing is greater. Sure, they'll hit bumps in the road (terrible twos for example) but all in all I think he'll do his damnest to be a good dad. To be different than his parents were. With the same determination he doesn't drink, he'll also make sure not to repeat these sins of his parents (abusive behavior). And mom can help, again, depending on her character. I also think if mom turns out to be abusive Troy's not gonna stay (I mean, truly abusive towards the kid. He'll probably do the less healthy thing and stay if she's 'only' abusive towards him…) And of course, no matter which path he'll follow, he will teach the kid everything she needs to know to survive. Just, his methods may differ (being patient and kind and enthusiastic vs. being more like I imagine his parents were (easily angered when kid!Troy didn't get things right the first time, annoyed by questions, brutal teaching methods like leaving her out alone for a night etc).
Now, if he adopts, there's more opportunity for clashes between him and the kid from the start and the transition could be more difficult. Doesn't have to be, of course, depending on how it all starts out. If he stole her then there definitely will be clashes. If he saved her from her parents or zombies or whatever, much less so - or, at least, it will happen later (I'm of course assuming the kid is grateful for being saved….). If the clashes do happen later, their relationship will have had a chance to blossom though and they could get through it smoother. He would react much gentler I think than if the clash happens right at the start (or, keeps happening). And yes, overall I do think having someone helpless depend on him so obviously (either the baby thing or him having to save the kid from a bad situation) will turn him gentler too, at least towards her. Also having adopted (pre-)teen (I assume) will most likely remind him starkly of his childhood self, too (or even more so than a baby) - and this could go either way, too. Him becoming like his parents in response to the uhm stress of it all (since stress or being overwhelmed does make it more likely to fall back to behaviors well known. And his parents abuse is very well known to him I think…) or him making a very conscious effort to break the cycle of violence. I could see him do the former in this scenario more likely than the one with the baby.
Though I think another factor plays into what kind of dad he becomes. Namely, his own headspace (and what kind of person he is at the time of the adoption. Since, again, he didn't really know himself by the end of s3, not fully. There was still so much opportunity for growth and getting to know himself). Is he only out for revenge and the kid thing just happened to have happened on the way along and well now he's saddled with it but like, not really putting too much thought into this? Not dedicating too much time to it? Then he'll be a more distant dad, more easily annoyed, more like his parents. From the short teaser (not the newest one, the one that showed him listening to Madison's broadcast and him having Alicia's arm(?)) it seemed like he is out for revenge, for hunting down Madison. But it could as well be used to mislead the viewers so I'm not putting too much stock into it until we see s8B… (to me, personally, it doesn't feel like he would want revenge - he'd just want another opportunity to interact with Madison… but that's my personal interpretation and could well not be canon-compliant…).
In conclusion, it is really difficult to say what kind of dad Troy ends up being (mostly because we have so many things missing and have to make up our own theories). If well explained, any path could work, I think. Good dad or Jeremiah 2.0 or something in between… (though the Jeremiah 2.0 would break my heart and I'd really love to see some good dad Troy)
I hope this answers your question (otherwise feel free to send clarifications haha). Thank you so much for the ask, I hope you have a great day 🧡

a/n: original story with some bases from transformers: prime and a few other series. takes place in early 2023.
march 5th, 2023
         9:30 am
         shelby woke when her alarm went off and wondered if everything that happened yesterday was a dream. she let out a yawn and made her bed, before putting on jeans and a t-shirt that she didn’t mind getting filthy and mismatched socks. she took an hour to make sure all of her reptiles were fed, watered and their cages clean. tripp was currently off until next week for a modeling photoshoot, so while shelby wasn’t in the house, he normally watched the reptiles and had a couple of them out so they wouldn’t feel cooped up.
         she ate a quick breakfast and told tripp she was going out into the barn to work on her car, not wanting him to know she had an alien being in her barn and to text her when lunch was made.
         shelby limped out to the barn, unlocking the door on the side and opening it. she peaked inside, seeing the metal titan resting in same spot she had left him last night.
         so it wasn’t a dream.
         for some odd reason, she was glad.
         “megatron,” she called out.
         the cybertronian’s eyes – optics – whirled to life and glowed ruby red, turning their attention down to shelby. a kind smile etched across his worn features.
         “good morning,” shelby greeted.
         “as to you,” megatron said. “what time is it?”
         “about 10:30,” she replied. “did you sleep well?”
         “a few cycles,” he replied.
         “….hours?” she asked.
         “yes, pardon me. a few hours,” megatron nodded.
         “ah, no worries. not used to the cybertronian terms you told me yesterday,” shelby said, shaking her head. “how are you feeling?”
         “worn, weak, but not as much as yesterday,” he answered.
         “i bet, you were in a coma,” shelby said, trudging over to her workbench and placing her cane across the handle on the tool cart. she took a seat in her chair and cracked her knuckles.
         “why do you use a form of crutch to help you walk?” megatron asked her, curiosity in his voice.
         “bum leg,” she replied. “was in a car accident years ago and damaged my leg to the point where it’ll never be the same. i went through seven surgeries before i called it quits because i was tired of being poked and prodded. now i manage the pain with medication,”
         “i’m sorry you experience such pain,” he said, as if he had been the one to cause her leg to be damaged.
         “it is what it is,” shelby shook her head. “do you mind if i put something on for background noise?”
         “not at all,”
         shelby put on the same thing she had the day before, however continuing with what she had been watching.
         lunch time came around about 12:30 and she let tripp know that she wasn’t hungry and would eat later. she had been solely focused on repairing the commlink that when she finally believed to have repaired it, she exclaimed.
         “aha!”
         megatron lifted his head, having dozed off. “what is it?”
         “i think i just fixed it,” shelby smiled up at him and climbed the ladder to the metal catwalk, walking over to him. “okay, let’s see…”
         shelby carefully placed the commlink perfectly in the slot and clipped it in, pressing on it for a few seconds to make sure it stayed in place before taking her hands away. “there we go. give it a try, hon.”
         megatron lifted a huge hand to the side of his head, pressing two of his fingers to the commlink. shelby heard a beeping noise come from it and waited with bated breath as a light on it turned from red to green.
         “megatron to optimus. megatron to optimus,” megatron spoke. “i am alright. i’m currently in the care of a human who found me and managed to repair my commlink. i’m sending you my coordinates now,”
         the commlink beeped once more and megatron let out a sigh of relief. “it went through,” he said and glanced at her. “thank you so much, shelby.”
         “whoo!” shelby cheered, grinning from ear to ear as she threw her hands up in the air. “go me! not only can i fix cars, but i can fix alien technology!”
         she twirled around in joy and that joy quickly turned to terror as her leg crumbled underneath her and she fell hard against the side of the catwalk. it leaned over from her weight and shelby cried out as gravity took control and she flipped over it. her hand tried to catch onto the chain, but it cut into her hand deeply and she was unable to grab onto something as she fell towards the ground-
         until a giant hand shot out and stopped her from meeting her demise. she landed on her back with an “oof!”, and gasped when she realized she had landed in megatron’s palm.
         holy shit, she just about met an early demise.
         “are you alright?” he asked quickly, bringing her a bit closer to him.
         “y-yeah,” shelby nodded, breathing a bit shakily, heart pounding in her chest. she held her hand in her other, hissing softly at the pain. that was going to leave a scar. after catching her breath, she glanced up at megatron with a relieved sigh. “t-thank you. that scared the ever living fuck outta me…”
         he let out a relieved sigh. “i’m glad you’re alright. that could have been worse if i had not been here,”
         “yeah, tell me about it,” she agreed, glancing down at her hand. part of the chain had been rusted and had cut into her hand deeply. she was going to need stitches, and a tetanus shot.
         “how bad is it?” he asked.
         “well, i’m gonna need stitches and probably a tetanus shot,” shelby sighed. “good thing one of my roommates is a doctor, but he’ll probably make me go to the hospital,”
         “tetanus shot?” he asked, pursing his metal lips.
         “its to prevent a tetanus infection, which can cause a whole wide of problems,” shelby replied. “like if you stepped on a nail or something,”
         “how interesting….something simple as a nail could cause an infection,” megatron mused.
         “yeah, being a human sucks,” she sighed.
         shelby frowned softly when she heard a noise and she glanced over to the large barn doors. she heard a clank and realized that the doors were beginning to open.
         she thought she had locked them!
         “she never misses lunch, that’s odd and….” tripp said as he and sorrel opened the doors to the barn. both men paused when they saw shelby, sitting in the hand of a giant metal titan.
         “what…the…?” tripp gasped, his dark brown eyes going wide.
         “g-guys, let me explain-,!” shelby began.
         all of a sudden, the sound of a loud engine, a jet engine, rang through their ears and the three humans quickly covered their ears from the loud, unexpected noise.
         “w-what was that?!” shelby asked, fear and nervousness rolled into one.
         “megatron!” a shrill, male voice echoed.
         “starscream,” megatron whispered, and he quickly put shelby down on the ground. “stay here, gather your friends and stay in the barn,”
         megatron got up on shaky legs and quickly, but carefully exited the barn as a second metal titan, though a bit smaller than megatron, landed on the ground in front of him. shelby quickly grabbed onto tripp and sorrel and pulled them into the barn.
         “shelby, what the hell is going on?!” sorrel demanded, glancing down at the younger woman with narrowed, but concerned eyes.
         “i swear i’ll explain everything once this is over, but….pretty much that car i bought is an alien being,” shelby replied quickly.
         “an alien?!” tripp whispered.
         shelby turned her gaze back to megatron, who was standing in front of the barn protectively. the other being, starscream, glanced around megatron and burning red eyes met shelby’s hazel ones.
         “in the care of a human, megatron?” starscream sneered. “we’ve been looking for you for a year and this is where you’ve been? hiding in a human’s barn?”
         “leave the humans be,” megatron demanded. “they’ve been nothing but kind and i won’t let you hurt them,”
         “tsk, you’ve stooped so low, megatron,” starscream shook his head. “what would happen if they met an early demise?”
         sorrel gasped as starscream lifted the cannon on his shoulder, a purple light beginning to form inside of it. megatron reacted quickly, his fist crashing across starscream’s face before he could so much as let the cannon fire. starscream snarled and fired at megatron, who dodged the attack and shelby heard the splintering of wood as it tore a large tree apart.
         “what do we do?” tripp whispered, clinging onto sorrel’s arm.
         “you two, stay here. i’ve got an idea,” shelby said and quickly made her way to her workbench, where a shotgun hung on the wall above it. she grabbed it up and rummaged through the drawers for shells, grabbing out a box and shoving two of them into the barrel. “stay here!” she told tripp and sorrel, who both cried out for her to stay.
         as megatron was thrown across the large property, starscream fired up his cannon once more and shelby managed to sneak by beside him, lifting the shotgun to aim towards his head.
         “hey, asshole!” she called.
         as soon as starscream turned his head towards her, she fired. the gun recoiled back roughly against her shoulder and she couldn’t help but smirk in satisfaction as the bullets met starscream’s eye. the cybertronian screamed in pain, a hand quickly covering his face. “my eye! my eye!”
         shelby reloaded the shotgun and lifted it to fire again, but starscream was quick. his hand came down without warning, colliding with her side roughly and sending her across the lawn. she landed hard and roughly on her side, her leg in complete agony. she was for sure something was broken, maybe a rib or two. she felt bile in her throat and she coughed harshly, noticing blood in the bile.
         “human filth!” starscream growled and rose into the sky, his form twisting and morphing into that of an army fighter jet.
         her eyes widened as starscream fired missiles towards her.
         “shelby!” she heard sorrel and tripp scream.
         before the missiles could so much as touch her, megatron was hovering over her fragile form, allowing the missiles to collide with his back instead of her. a few small explosions came out from his back and she noticed blue liquid dripping down his side.
         he had protected her.
         he groaned, clenching his teeth so hard she thought for sure they were going to shatter.
         “m-megatron!” she gasped, her hands automatically reaching for him.
         “how disgusting,” starscream insulted. “you would give your life to protect a worthless flesh bag. you’ve really steeped so low, megatron. you were never meant to lead the decepticons,”
         “this human has proved herself worthy,” megatron gritted, turning his head to glare up at starscream. “more than you’ll ever be,”
         starscream sneered and shelby froze as he prepared missiles once more. but, suddenly and without warning, a missile came from out of nowhere and blew off starscream’s leg. shelby flinched when she heard starscream’s cry of agony.
         she glanced up, seeing another, bigger jet flying around starscream and firing a missile once more at him. starscream was able to dodge this time and growled, glancing down at the ground, as shelby heard the sound of thundering vehicles coming from down her driveway.
         “autobots!” he snarled.
         wounded and seemingly outnumbered, starscream morphed into his jet form and quickly flew off, leaving behind a small trail of black smoke.
         megatron let out a sigh of relief, his red eyes gazing down at shelby. “are you alright?” he asked.
         “y-yeah, he….he hit me pretty hard. i think a couple of my ribs might be broken,” shelby nodded. “a-are you okay?”
         “i will be…” he nodded.
         “i’m so sorry, i didn’t mean for you to get hurt,” she whispered. “i….i thought i could at least help you,”
         “you’ve done enough for me, shelby,” megatron said, slowly maneuvering himself to cup a hand behind her. shelby didn’t hesitate, scooting her body back so she could hop onto his hand. he stood up with a grimace, holding her up in his hand.
         shelby glanced ahead of her as she saw vehicles coming into view. a red and blue semi, an orange and white ambulance, a green suv and a yellow and black camera. she glanced up as the other jet that had came along, morphed into a large cybertronian with striking blue eyes. she turned her attention back to the vehicles as they morphed into more cybertronians, the semi in the lead, morphing into a large and bulky one with bright blue eyes.
         “megatron,” he breathed.
         “optimus,” megatron said softly.
         “i’m so happy you are okay,” optimus said, his voice strained, as if he was going to cry.
         “if it wasn’t for shelby, i wouldn’t be here,” megatron said, gesturing to shelby in his other hand.
         shelby couldn’t help but swallow thickly as optimus turned his gaze to her. he was very intimidating, but he also seemed very wise and gentle. “you forever have my gratitude, shelby. thank you, from the bottom of my spark, for bringing megatron back to us.” he spoke, holding out a hand towards her, as if he wanted to shake her head, well, finger.
         “it’s….it’s no problem,” shelby said, shaking one of his large fingers. “something lured him to me, and i couldn’t leave him there,”
         “are you hurt?” optimus asked.
         “i-i think a couple of my ribs might be fractured and my hand is pretty beaten up,” shelby replied.
         “bumblebee,” optimus called and the yellow bot chirped in response. “please take shelby and her friends to the hospital. the others and i will remain here for now,”
         bumblebee nodded and morphed, well a better word would be transformed, into the yellow and black camero, the doors opening. megatron lowered his hand to the ground, allowing shelby to hop off of his hand with a soft wince.
         to the hospital they go.
         ~ ~
         it was about six pm by the time they arrived back home. shelby had two fractured ribs, multiple bruises and her left hand had been stitched and bandaged, with the doctor telling her not to do anything for a week until her next check up.
         when they had gotten to the hospital, both sorrel and tripp were greatly worried for her, but also furious. once she had been discharged, sorrel was the first to lay it onto her once they had gotten into bumblebee.
         “you idiot! you could have been killed!” sorrel had shouted, the older man’s blue eyes burning into hers. “that was not your fight!”
         “it was as much my fight as it was megatron’s! he tried to hurt megatron on my property and i wasn’t going to let him destroy anything!” shelby had shouted back.
         sorrel huffed and pinched the bridge of his nose, taking a long, calming breath. “look, i know you wanted to protect him, but he’s a giant titan capable of handling his own fights,”
         “he was already hurt,” shelby sniffed, defending her actions.
         “crazy brat,” sorrel sighed, pulling her into a one-armed hug. “don’t do that again,”
         “i know, i’m sorry. old timer,” shelby said, returning the hug.
         tripp joined in for the hug until they arrived home. bumblebee transformed once they got out and shelby noticed the, thankfully, minimal damage to her property. a few trees had been destroyed, and the grass had been dug up a bit, but it was otherwise okay.
         “i’m going inside, i need coffee to deal with this alien stuff,” sorrel sighed, placing a kiss on top of shelby’s head before walking into the house.
         “i’ll be inside shortly,” shelby told tripp, who nodded and went inside as well.
         “shelby,”
         shelby turned her head and smiled softly when she saw megatron and optimus approaching her. “hey,” she said.
         “how are you feeling?” megatron asked, getting down on one knee to be more at level with her.
         “i’m tired,” she replied honestly. “today has been…chaotic. i never imagined i would get in the middle between two metal titans,”
         “that was foolish on your part,” optimus said sternly. “but also very brave.”
         “i had to do something. i wasn’t going to let starscream hurt him,” she said.
         optimus knelt down onto one knee as well in front of her. “i appreciate everything you’ve done. while the last thing we wanted was to bring more humans into our war, we cannot help but decide what to do now that you know about us,”
         “i would never tell anyone,” shelby said firmly, shaking her head. “that’s a promise, an oath,”
         “thank you,” optimus nodded. “there comes the problem that starscream has your location now and that puts you in danger,”
         “what do we do about that?” shelby asked.
         “we proposed that we have members of our team watch over you and the property,” megatron answered. “as well as be able to cloak your property with a new device that’s been created. it operates off of energon and it will hide the property from decepticon sight and radar, as well as any other threats. it will appear as if its nothing more than a cluster of woods,”
         “that’s amazing,” she smiled softly. “you don’t have to do all of that,”
         “you saved my life,” megatron said, the tone of his voice going softer. “twice. it’s only reasonable that we watch over you and your friends,”
         “we will have two autobots here during the day, and one at night. we haven’t decided yet, but we will let you know. if it would be alright, perhaps we could have your contact information?” optimus asked.
         “of course,” she nodded, pulling a pad of paper and a pen out of her bag and writing down her number before handing it to optimus. “that’s my mobile number, but my phone is on me 24/7.”
         “thank you,” he said. “we’ll have to head back to base. bumblebee is going stay here tonight just in case and watch over you,”
         “okay,” she nodded.
         optimus gave a nod and stood, putting a hand on megatron’s shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze before walking away.
         “never imagined my life this way,” shelby said softly.
         “do you regret it?” megatron asked.
         “no way,” shelby scoffed. “this makes my life much more interesting.”
         “thank you, for everything, shelby. i do not know what i can do to repay you,” he said, a soft smile on his features.
         “just get better, megatron,” shelby smiled softly. “don’t worry about me, okay? focus on recovering.”
         megatron reached out a massive hand and lightly pressed the tip of his finger to her shoulder, which she reached up and gave it a gentle pat. he stood up. “until next time,”
         “till next time,” she said.
         she watched with a bit of heaviness in her heart as the autobots left, minus for bumblebee. he transformed into the camaro and shelby gave his hood a pat before she went inside.
         what a fucking day.

The Internet has made it rain
A lot of groceries have been landing on my porch lately. Still, actually.
My roommates are a little confused, and asked me why the internet is mailing me sixteen jars of marinated artichoke hearts? And I had to explain that it's because Amazon is not really set up to let the internet mail me one or two jars of marinated artichoke hearts. They won't drop normal human quantities of perishables from Amazon Fresh on your porch without giving you a delivery window, and they can't book you a delivery window without ruining the "surprise" of getting things off a Wish List, so you can only order off Amazon Pantry, where people shop in bulk when they can't get a ride to Costco.
Ergo, sixteen jars of marinated artichokes. Which I will eventually eat, because I've also taken custody of sixteen boxes of pasta, a dozen cans of chunked tomatoes, and some amount of canned mushrooms and roasted bell peppers. I am generally a tired/lazy cook, and that's about the level of effort I'll go to for dinner.
They also half-seriously jumped to the conclusion that I was doing sex work. Which was not a bad guess; I do figure modeling, so I've spent a fair amount of my life being naked for money. I would happily be selling used shoes and underwear to people who would pay to appreciate them, but I'm not willing to put my real name or physical address on those packages, and PO Boxes are expensive as fuck in all the nearby ZIP codes. Most perverts are perfectly ordinary people who just have a very niche hobby, but you can't really tell when you have one of the bad apples from a few slobbery emails. Reading between the lines, at least one of my roommates has had a bad experience with an ex who wouldn't go away, so that's another reason not to risk it.
Getting back to the groceries, the Wish List says there's still some stuff that hasn't shown up yet, so I was not all that surprised to see more boxes piled up on my porch last week. I was having kind of a bad time, because our shower wall had fallen in and I was the only one home to let the contractors in at 8 in the morning, so I was not exactly firing on all cylinders. I just saw the boxes and went, 'oh yay, someone sent the half-dozen jars of spaghetti sauce, that's dinner taken care of' and stacked them in the corner for a bit, because pasta sauce will keep until I've had a nap.
Reader, it was not pasta sauce.
I have a few Wish Lists in addition to the main one, and the one that had all the groceries on it. One was called Media Production. I don't remember if I've ever posted that one, and I definitely didn't remember it was public, but that one was actually a running tally of stuff I intended to buy in the unlikely event that I ever got grant money. And everything on it eventually fetched up on my front stairs, save one duplicate item. I have no idea if one person sent it all, or if a bunch of you ganged up on me; it arrived in a few boxes, on a couple different days, and Amazon seems to include a separate 'send a thank you' slip for each item, so there's no telling what orders actually went to the warehouse. So far only one of the anony-mice has picked a unique pseudonym, and all of those things came a while ago in another collection of boxes.
But, uh, there's a whole bunch of it, is the point. Rather unexpectedly. Thank you!
Self-Portrait (Logitech BRIO, pixels on panel, 2023).
For the record, the collection was basically a starter kit for content creators. None of it is super pricey, it was just stuff I couldn't justify spending the money on without knowing (rather than hoping) I could get some sort of return on it. The standing mic with a pop filter is a desk model with cardioid pickup, and there's a lapel mic clipped to the bendy arm. Bluetooth earbuds are for monitoring, the SSD is 1TB of storage. I've been toying with the idea of turning blog entries into a podcast, a la Mark Crislip -- it would actually be easy, inasmuch as I generally write them by sitting alone in my room and talking to myself for hours on end until I get something that sounds good, then banging it out on a keyboard before I forget it. I have a gaming headset that cost me about $20 and works fine on Zoom, but does not produce audio of a quality I'd put out for people to feed into their ears for an hour at a time.
The white thing is a digital projector that was intended for a specific project that I'll still probably do at some point, but secretly is also assistive technology. I don't get as much done as I'd like because working on a computer requires me to sit up, and a lot of days, sitting up sucks. Being able to throw the second monitor onto a wall or even the ceiling means I can drag a wireless keyboard over and work from a pile of pillows. That plus the wireless controller means I can pick up streaming or recording let's-plays, which I've been wanting to do for a while, but haven't because sitting in one spot for hours murders my back.
The Logitech BRIO taking the moody mirror selfie is a 4K webcam, and it's on a basic telescoping tripod that I can use for anything that takes a standard 1/4" screw mount. I've been trying to get clips of rehearsals, performances, new props, toying around in the studio, etc., but the quality is generally not great. Laptop cameras are made for office lighting and close-range subjects, and cell phone cameras are pretty good but unfortunately attached to phones, which are both expensive and also the device off of which I am generally playing the music. I've gotten away with the 1K cam for my one dance film so far, mainly because it was intentionally lo-fi -- as in, if the camera I had was too clear, I would have added grain and noise in post-production -- but outside of that people generally enjoy seeing what tf is going on when they watch a clip of someone dancing.
[Side note: The rat cage is just out of shot to the right. Casper has the bottom suite. He had no idea what the hell I was doing shuffling doohickeys around on the floor and balancing a mirror on my knee with one hand and poking a computer with the other. I gave him a chocolate chip for his patience when I was done]
It is all generally portable. The webcam even came with its own bag. The stuff I have to hold is mostly wireless. The clip mic does have a cord; I can either plug it into a smartphone and then re-sync the audio in post, or I can plug it into a small Bluetooth transceiver and cast it to the laptop I'm using to record. It's almost, but not quite, equivalent to having a proper lav/beltpack set up. The receiver for a beltpack carries raw audio and can be plugged into anything, whereas the Bluetooth method needs at least one end of the connection to be smart in a way that a laptop is and most soundboards aren't. "Content creation"-style production is all piped through a computer whether it's edited or live, so it makes little difference to me. And frankly, all the wireless microphone systems I've ever tried to use with a computer are dodgy AF, mostly because the transmitter/WiFi/5G frequencies all smash into each other and come out a patchy mess.
So you can all look forward to more media, I guess? It'll take a bit to ramp up, I didn't expect to be doing any of this so soon, so I need to work on scripts and figure out where and when to record.

rule of thirds
"Throughout human history nearly all human beings have been confronted with the overwhelming weight of a society they as individuals did nothing to create. They have lived out their lives within a very narrow range of alternatives. Only a few gifted persons have had the opportunity & the ability to break through the barriers of their time & place." -  Barrington Moore, Jr.
Yesterday, I met with a newly close friend of mine, he’s a professional videographer and someone who also shares a deep craving for creative outlet. We discussed ideas, shared short films and inspirations, he showed me his work and explained to me that it was actually a part of a past life. It wasn’t what he was doing anymore, but he really wants to “get back into it.” At the end of our session, I felt exhilarated. Animated. Electrified. I was excited that I found someone to join me on this uphill battle to make something important to the both of us. I was surprised. I didn’t think that all it took was a conversation with a like-minded individual to make me feel alive about something.
Today... felt somber. There was a gray tint on my eyes, and I felt this overwhelming, familiar depression consume me. I hadn’t had this feeling sporadically in a long time, and my usual medicine is just going back to sleep and trying again tomorrow. Today, instead, I decided that I wanted to talk to three separate and important people about it. Three conversations with three people share one back: mine.
Conversation number one was with someone who understands and shared the same hardships and upbringing that I had. We had. I explained what had happened these past few days leading to that moment and sought his amateur medical and brotherly advice. He expressed to me how common this was for him, too, and that he thinks a lot of it has to do with really traumatic things to have happened to us at a younger-than-most age. It made us have a heightened sensitivity, addictive personality, and we shut down without communicating it properly. He told me to get up and get moving, and call him any time I felt that way and we could talk it through.
Conversation number two was with someone who has always put me on a pedestal I didn’t deserve to be on. He sees the good and talent in me, and never fails to remind me of my worth. I told him that I want to make something, something really sad for some reason. Why? Something where I could express these overwhelming emotions and convey it to other people, but I’m really afraid to do so. Why? He shared with me about the size of his unhappiness at times, and how he leans on his support whenever he needs it, without feeling bad about it. He reminded me that I’m capable, and told me to call him any time I felt that way and we could talk it through.
Conversation number three was with someone who has never lied to me to make me feel better. He’s usually a little more direct with opinions, to a fault, and at this point I’m pretty sure he’s tired of explaining the same thing to me a million times. We talked about being creative, about how I called him today because I had a rough one, and that kind of opened up the beginning of what turned out to be a really difficult conversation. He told me how I have this habit of running away and distracting myself from my problems. He used me moving to Seattle as his first example, and how naïve it was for me to think that this sadness and depression wasn’t going to follow me wherever I ran. “The GOOD thing about running away is that when you finally stop running, you have nowhere else to go and you have to face the issue.” He was right, but it sucked to hear it. He told me that its about slow progress and commended me for any progress so far. “It’s happening way less now, isn’t it? That’s a good thing.” He reminded me how it’s perfectly okay and normal to have a bad day, how not having bad days is impossible, and to call him any time I felt that way and we could talk it through.

Hi! So, I absolutely love your series where the MC is the kid of Lucifer, and I was wondering if I could request that with Diavolo and Barbatos? •v•
:0 you definitely can! Right now I’m just doing Diavolo, but Barb’s will be up sometime soon!
MC is Half Demon and Oh Shit They’re Diavolo’s Kid-
Diavolo wasn’t exactly what one would expect of the prince of Hell, I mean, he was suppressing the urge to bounce in his seat from pure excitement. I mean, his exchange program was starting! Humans, demons, and angels, all together, his dream was coming true.
All that was left was for the student to arrive, the portal opened, and the human fell flat on their back. Oof, maybe Diavolo should have set up some kind of landing zone filled with pillows. No matter! The human was-
What peculiar eyes this human had…
Oh… oh dear…
Dad-volo
The MC was his child, no question about it. This was… very unexpected. Well, the entire assembly hall was completely quiet, and the kid looked like they were getting impatient.
“HEY! Mind telling me what the hell is going on?!”
After that, Diavolo launches into his explanation, also the explanation that he’s definitely this kid’s dad. Kid was not impressed, they tried to square up with Diavolo and Lucifer had never been more confused as to what to do.
Well, the moment MC sprouted wings and launched themselves at Diavolo, Dia caught them with one hand and continued speaking like nothing happened.
MC, please calm down… Diavolo didn’t know they existed, let him make it up to them! They’re going to stay at the Demon Lord’s Castle! Dia’s going to be a good dad!
“This feels like the plot to the world’s most messed up fairytale.” MC jammed their hands into their pockets and grumbled. “I get sucked into hell and find out I’m royalty there. Great.”
Diavolo managed to smile and awkwardly reach out to give them a pat on the head, then retracted his hand after the kid shot him a glare. “Well, it’s not a very traditional fairytale, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy your time here.”
“Mm, sure.” MC mumbled.
Okay, so his child wasn’t that enthusiastic about the exchange program, but Diavolo was sure they’d come around.
Dia tried everything he could possibly think of to get his kid to both like him and enjoy their time as an exchange student. A lot of things had… mixed results.
Also, legally recognizing MC as his child and legitimizing them caused a big stink amongst the nobles who were opposed to the exchange program to begin with. So MC then had to deal with a few assassins. Wonderful. Fantastic. Show stopping. Dia, be a good dad and comfort your angsty murder target- I MEAN preteen.
They do manage to build a good relationship fairly quickly despite their less than stellar first impressions, and Diavolo made them a promise that he knew he wouldn’t ever break: he would let them live as normal a childhood as possible.
This means that MC gets to do all the normal kid stuff that Diavolo wasn’t allowed to do. It honestly works out great for everyone. MC gets to live their life, Diavolo gets the satisfaction of knowing that his kid’s having fun, and Barbatos doesn’t need to worry about MC causing chaos in the castle.
Man… does this kid’s magic potential scare the shit out of everyone though…
Tired Uncle Lucifer
No. This has to be a violation of his worker rights. It cannot be legal for him to be this stressed.
He knew this exchange program was a bad idea. LUCIFER FUCKING KNEW IT. This kid was judging him. Why did he suddenly feel self conscious about every single one of his features? This child was picking him apart and they hadn’t even said anything!
He confiscated Asmo’s phone immediately, this was a matter of national security! Satan’s too! Beel as- oh shit Lucifer may have to give Beel the heimlich maneuver, then take his phone.
When all the brothers eventually got back to the HOL, they were greeted with Mammon getting shaken down by Levi.
“Lucifer! Ya won’t believe this! Levi- what’s wrong with you?” “The exchange student is Diavolo’s child.” “What..?” “*pops the cork off a bottle of Demonus* the exchange student’s Diavolo’s child.”
The worst part about this kid was that they took to the privileges of being royalty like a fish to water. MC went out and did whatever the fuck they wanted, and Lucifer needed to make sure a state of national emergency wasn’t called just because MC picked a fight at RAD.
It didn’t help that MC was just so unimpressed with Lucifer. Anytime Lucifer would tell them not to do something they would just raise their eyebrows and challenge his authority without saying a word.
What the fuck.jpg
The things he does for his prince boyfriend…
Cool Uncle Mammon
Huh, so this little pipsqueak is Lord Diavolo‘s kid? Hm, do ya think they’d let him into the royal treasury? No? Okay… lame.
Mammon then decides this kid would be just perfect for scamming people! Who is going to say no to the Crown Prince’s kid? A suicidal person, that’s who!
And the kid is… up for it? Wow, Mammon didn’t even have to grovel! Awesome!
It’s such a shame that Lucifer came in and promptly removed MC from Mammon’s presence. Tsk, killjoy…
Mammon and MC do get along swimmingly after MC stops angsting. Whenever they hang out it’s pure chaos.
And they would have gotten away with it too- wait, they do get away with it. Because who’s going to question the Crown Prince’s kid? >:)
Reclusive Uncle Leviathan
Levi was in the middle of throttling Mammon for his money back when Lucifer burst through the door looking like he had spent over 1000 Grimm on a gacha game only to not get the card he wanted.
And where was that human he said would be staying with them? Huh? The human’s HUH????!!!!
… wack. Maybe he shouldn’t have skipped out on that Student Council Meeting…
Either way, ew, new person he needed to talk to. NO THANKS. Well, no thanks until MC started to visit the HOL to hang out with Mammon. Of course those two normies decided to bug him. OF COURSE.
Levi finally snapped when MC loudly proclaimed that they could totally beat Levi in Mario Kart. Haha, NO. Levi challenged the little runt to a 1 v 1 race on Rainbow Road.
Kid lost. Obviously. Rainbow Road is rigged.
Honestly, kid’s alright. Still a total normie, but not completely terrible.
Cat Uncle Satan
Huh, a half human child of the soon to be demon king, how very interesting.
Oh, and just look at Lucifer’s face. :D priceless. Satan wished he was fast enough to get his DDD out to snap a picture, but he wasn’t able to…
But back to MC, oh how very intriguing. How much power do they have in comparison to Diavolo? Will using that power rip their fragile little body apart? Would they learn to control it? Satan was just dying to find out.
His feelings on the child themselves were mixed at best. They were clearly unhappy with the situation and Satan could sympathize, being thrust into a completely new world and then being told you can’t leave and are also royalty? That has to be hard. But this kid was still being an unreasonable little shit.
Satan continued to try and study MC from afar until the kid themselves walked right up to him and half demanded half pleaded for his help in studying for a test.
Not being one to avoid an opportunity to flex how smart he is, Satan agreed to help out. (Nerrrrd)
And honestly, it went well. When the kid wasn’t being a little shit, they were actually quite pleasant to be around.
Overly Affectionate Uncle Asmo
…wut
Listen, when Asmo asked Lucifer to pick a cute human, he didn’t mean cute as in CHILD.
This kid was DIAVOLO’S?! What lucky human had gotten to have the experience of [Jesus Fucking Christ, Asmo I’m not writing what he said for the sake of the nation]
Anyhoo~ little MC just made his heart go “SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SO CUTE!” They were so cute Asmo could just eat them up!
But they were so mean! That scowl they always had on was going to give them wrinkles and ruin their perfectly cute face!
Sigh, oh well. He can’t manually rearrange people’s expressions. What he can do is take this child shopping. Poor Diavolo was constantly in his RAD uniform, this poor innocent baby shouldn’t have to suffer the same fate.
The kid continued to scowl at everything, but at the same time, their little quips were very entertaining. This little kid spitting verbal venom at anyone who displeased them reminded Asmo of someone… he just couldn’t place who, but they definitely had amazing hair and a cute face :3
Hungry Uncle Beel
Where’s the takeout- I mean human? What’s happening? …are all humans this small? Dang, that’s barely enough for a snack.
So the human’s not going to live with us because they’re not fully human and Diavolo’s kid? Huh. Wild. Anyway, what’s for dinner?
Beel’s not too invested in this drama, he misses Belphie too much to be that interested…
The kid’s weirdly interested in how cool and strong Beel is though. MC tails him to the gym pretty often.
Diavolo and Beel already being gym buddies send tweet-
Since this benevolent little shit likes Beel so much, they decided to take it upon themselves to help with the family drama.
Beel finds that very sweet 🥺
Murder sleepy Uncle Belphie
Oh man… if you thought Belphie was being unfair to L!MC due to their parentage… hoo boy…
When this kid waltzed up the attic steps like they ran the place, Belphie needed to hold himself back from trying to break down the door and throttle this kid.
Pff, of course Diavolo would have a half human kid. Of course.
…kid beat the shit out of him when he tried to kill them. We stan this MC.
After all is said and done, Belphie still isn’t overly fond of MC. They’re brash and rude and only funny 40% of the time. They don’t even like napping 😒
But Beel likes the little runt, so Belphie and MC put up with each other.
Bonus! Your Angelic Uncle Simeon’s Chihuahua
:0 friend!
MC: *speaks*
>:0 not friend! Begone! *throws crucifix*

Schrödinger’s Boy
It was dead when she saw it.
Oh so very dead, but walking. Talking. Living.
That really doesn’t make sense, so let’s start from the beginning;
Nelia Ugochi d’Bandinello was not a normal child. Ever since she was young, she could see death. And no, not like the walking skeleton clad in black robes and a scythe most people assume, but real death; the dead, the dying, the undead, all. No one, not even her closest family members knew, and she intended to keep it that way. As long as she kept to her own and didn’t cross the line for the rules, she was safe.
Ever since her family moved to this country, she knew the small, sleepy town was a little dead. The essence was in every nook and cranny, even the air had a thin yet distinctive layer of it. Nothing she couldn’t handle.
That is, until now.
The air’s death suddenly sharpened the moment before it walked in.
At first glance, it looked like a boy. A cute boy in fact. Short compared to her tall. Pale skin in contrast to her deep dark, straight black hair opposed to curly blond. Baby blue opposing forest green. But then, the closer she looked, the more she noticed what was off. Skin was a little too pale to be considered healthy, and became slightly transparent as she saw more. Hair was wispy and floaty, almost defying gravity, almost flowing like it was under water as its head bounced. Eyes a bit more, sunken, a bit more tired. Worst of all, its heartbeat sounded so, so slow.
And now, it was sitting two tables across from her.
She swallowed the milkshake that threatened to spill out of her mouth. She tried to turn back to her food, tried to ignore its presence. But she kept glancing its way, turning back to the most terrifying yet fascinating creature she had ever seen.
And she just. Kept. Staring.
One of its cohorts – the black one with glasses – pointed at her direction, and it suddenly looked over. Their eyes made contact. She gasped and looked away.
‘Such haunting eyes.’ She thought.
“Nelia? What’s wrong?” She looked up to see her brother Irnerio, who had previously been trying to unhinge his jaw to fit an absolutely massive burger, was now looking at her in concern.
“Nothing.” She forced out. She glanced back at them. Her brother’s concerned face was already contorting into a smug grin.
“Oh? Falling in love already?” He chuckled “It’s the pale boy, right?” Her cheeks heated. Definitely not what was happening.
“Shut up.”
“Well, you did say that one of the advantages of moving was ‘Date cute Americans’. Though I must say, I always thought that the goth girl would be more your type. You could both indulge in your weird fascination with death.”
She hit her brother in the ribs.
“Stolto*.” She hissed. “I said shut up.”
Her brother laughed.
***
“Dude, the new girl is totally checking you out.”
Danny swallowed his bite of a burger. “What?”
He, Sam and Tucker had gone to Nasty Burger for lunch that Saturday, and had noticed the two newest additions to the town residence. The girl had been looking at them ever since they walked in.
“She’s probably not into me. Probably looking at Sam. They look foreign, so for all we know, she may be their first goth.”
“An honour I am willing to have with pride.”
“She’s looking over here right now!”
Danny turned to where Tucker was pointing and sure enough, she was looking at them. They made eye contact, and hers widened and she looked away.
“See? Totally into you.” Danny rolled his eyes.
“Whatever, Tuck.” He continued eating his burger. But somehow, he couldn’t shake the stare off of him. As if she was looking past his flesh and staring at the very ghost that made his soul.
He shivered at the thought.
***
Oh God above, it went to her school.
The creepy thing goes to her school.
She wondered how it got into her school. She wondered why, of all things, it had to attend as a student.
Mondays where truly the worst days of the week.
She had learned the creatures name was Danny Fenton, official school weirdo, son of the two most successful ghost hunters (oh the irony), and all-round loser she shouldn’t interact with (according to the Mexican girl that approached her). She didn’t really care though, as much as she was weary, she still wanted to know what it was. And she was determined to find out.
The bell rang, pulling her out of her thoughts. She sighed and pulled her books from her locker. She didn’t want to be late.
***
Hours later, school was long over, and Nelia was busy at work in the kitchen, kneading dough for her second batch of strawberry calzones, the first already in the oven. Her mother stood at in front of the doorway, watching her.
“That’s a lot of dessert calzones for 4 people.”
She finished kneading and started rolling out the dough. “Oh no, ours are part of the last batch. Most of these are offerings.” She turned to her mother. “I’m going to the Cemetery after dinner. To pay some respects.”
Her mother sighed. There was no talking her out of this. Every time they go someplace new, she always paid her respects at a local gravesite. She stopped trying to prevent her a long time ago.
“Well, just be back before midnight. But in the meantime, let me help you close the ones you’ve already filled. We could talk, use some mother daughter bonding time.” She smiled and nodded at her mum, handing her a spare apron. She gladly took it and set to work beside her daughter.
“Have you heard? There’s a story I heard. They say this town has some kind of ghost hero…”
***
It was late in the evening, and she had paid her respects at the last grave when she saw him.
And he was oh so very much Alive.
Silver white hair adorned his head like a glowing crown. Striking, electric green eyes, a black jumpsuit with white boots and gloves. Veins, across his skin, visible with the implication of pure green death flowing in them, the sound of each breath he takes. A pulsating buzz emitting from his chest, almost sounding like a beating heart. These where the features of Amity Park’s local hero and (dead) celebrity, Danny Phantom.
And he had just landed in front of her.
“Um, are you ok? It’s pretty late out.”
She blinked at first, startled to hear him talk, but composed herself enough to speak.
“Ah, yes I’m fine. Just, paying my respects.” She gestured to the grave and the basket of food.
“Oh, really? That’s nice of you! Apart from family, hardly anyone pays respect these days.”
“Yes, it’s something I try to do everywhere I go. Speaking of respect, where’s yours?”
Danny blinked. “My what?”.
“Your grave. I have to pay my respects to you. This is the only cemetery in town, but I didn’t see your grave.”
Danny froze in shock. He hadn’t really thought about it.
“Oh. I kind of, uhm, don’t have one?” Because I’m not really dead.
It was Nelia’s turn to be shocked. And then she was angry. Was this town really so ungrateful that they didn’t have a grave for their hero? That wouldn’t do.
“Where do you want one?”
“What?”
“Where would you want your grave? I’m going to make you one.”
Danny’s eyes widened.
“Your… going to make a grave for me?” “Of course? It’s only common decency, a basic right to the dead. I might not have your body, but if I have a photo to at least mark your image, it would do.”
Danny was stunned by this gesture. No one had offered him a grave before. So, he told her about his ideal spot.
Weeks later, in a secluded spot in the woods, he stands with her above a freshly dug grave, underneath a willow tree, facing directly at the night sky marked with a picture of him in his ghost form. She drops a plate of calzones and lights some lavender incense. She pays her respects and stands back letting him trace over the picture and admire the grave. It’s not the best grave, but it’s also the only one he’s received. He couldn’t help it, as a few tears dripped from his eyes. It was a sweet gift.
He turns to her, clasps his hand in hers. He manages to choke out between tears.
“Thank you.”
She stares back at him. This action, it’s so… human. She senses familiarity, like she could almost imagine him when he was alive……
Oh.
Oh.
The connection between the dead boy and alive ghost hits her like a train, all the similarities adding up. She smiles at him.
“It’s your grave. You should bring your friends to see it.”
His eyes widen in panic, wondering how she found out. She shakes her head.
“I won’t tell anyone, I promise.”
He relaxes and nods, let’s go of her hands and they stare back at his very own grave. Sam and Tucker are going to flip when they see it.
That night, she’s back in her room, wide awake, thinking of everything that happened. His hands were cold, but not like death cold. Like he had stuck his hands in the freezer. His tears were so real.
This boy, who was dead yet alive. Walking perfectly on the line between life and death, tittering to neither side.
Schrödinger’s boy indeed.

Laundry Day
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!Reader Summary: Reader and Spencer meet again in the laundry room and decide to have some fun. PART 1 / PART 2 / PART 3 / PART 4 / EPILOGUE Category: Smut 18+ (oral sex- male and female receiving, unprotected penetrative sex, slight exhibitionism?/potential of getting caught, slight degradation) Warnings: sex, language. (As always, if there’s anything I missed, let me know what I should include in warnings. I want to be as mindful as I can about what I post. Thank you!) Word Count: 3k
Note: Surprise!! I was going to wait to post this on Saturday but Taylor Swift had me feeling like dropping a surprise, what can I say? 😂 Anyway, I wasn’t going to make another part to Pretty Please, but for one thing, it did way better than I was expecting, so thank you all for your kind comments and tags! And also, @rainsong01 mentioned something that gave me an idea for a laundry room scenario, so you can thank them for this one! I had so much fun writing this and I hope you like it! Thanks for all the love! 🥰
***
Y/N hated laundry day.
There was nothing more boring to her than loading clothes into the washer, waiting, then loading them into the dryer, waiting, and then folding them and putting them away, not to mention the laundry room was kind of dingy and felt like being in a gross, scary basement.
Thankfully though, years of living in the same building had given Y/N a pretty decent schedule of when the laundry room was empty. It wasn't like she disliked talking to people, but laundry made her cranky enough, and the last thing she wanted was human interaction, making small talk with building residents that acted like they cared to know about everyone else's business.
So it was Friday night, 7 pm, which meant that depending on if she had to work, the only other person in the laundry room would be Olivia from down the hall, someone Y/N had only had a few conversations with, either in the laundry room or on the way out the door.
She walked in, silently thanking the laundry gods after hearing complete and utter silence as she made her way to the washer and dryer to the far left of the room. Then she reached into her pocket and realized she forgot her phone. Cursing, she settled on basking in the silence as she loaded her clothes in the washer one by one, at least grateful that no one would be bothering her with pointless small talk.
Until she heard the door open, as if the laundry gods decided they were angry at her. She tried not to outwardly groan, hoping that whoever it was would just say, "Hello," and leave it at that. Or better yet, not say anything at all and let her do her own thing. So she closed the washer and entered the quarters, knowing that it would be a long ten minutes. She could have went back upstairs to her apartment and waited there if she really wanted to, or grabbed her phone at least, but it felt like it would have been pointless, and so she just hoped it wouldn't be awkward.
Maybe I'll just go walk around the building aimlessly for 10 minutes.
But the laundry gods had other plans, apparently.
"Y/N?"
She turned around and saw none other than Spencer Reid, clutching a large cloth bag, presumably filled with laundry.
"Spencer? Hi," Y/N greeted, a small blush forming on her cheeks. The two of them hadn't really talked since their... escapade about a month ago. Most of the time Spencer was at work, but whenever he was home there hadn't been anymore thin wall scenarios or overhearing something she shouldn't. They'd seen each other in the hallway a few times, winking as they passed, but that was it. Y/N had to wonder if maybe it was just a once-in-a-lifetime thing, being absolutely fucked into oblivion by your neighbor so good that you couldn't walk for two days.
Thinking about it made her cheeks burn hotter, so she cleared her throat and only slightly avoided eye contact. "I thought you did your laundry on Sundays?"
Spencer shrugged, walking over to the machine set next to hers. "Normally I would, but I just got back from work and I needed clean clothes. It's... pretty empty in here right now."
"Oh. Yeah, that's why I do my laundry on Friday nights whenever I can. Everyone's either out or staying in relaxing. Laundry's already boring enough, right, who needs annoying small talk?"
He laughed, opening the washer and putting in some of his clothes. "Touché."
Y/N wasn't really sure what to say after that, so she sat on top of the washer and crossed her legs, swinging them a little as she waited.
"Look, I know you've already given your stance on annoying small talk, but... What are your plans for the weekend?" Spencer asked, and she turned her head to meet his gaze, immediately feeling butterflies in her stomach.
"Um... Not a lot, really. Other than some grocery shopping and a few other small errands, I was going to have dinner with my mom on Sunday for her birthday. We might have to cancel though because she might have to go into work, but we'll see... What about you?"
He shook his head. "I don't have anything planned unless I get called into work either."
"Oh... Well, if you ever feel like having some company, you know where I live," she joked.
Spencer laughed. "I might just have to take you up on that. Things at work have been kind of... stressful."
Despite her better judgement, she smirked. "I seem to recall a similar conversation between the two of us not that long ago, Bud. You're not trying to fuck me again, are you?"
She just couldn't help herself. Admittedly she was a little worried she was too forward, but in the end it paid off, because he turned to look at her, shutting the washer and grabbing quarters from his pocket. "Would it be so wrong of me if I wanted to?"
The low tone of his voice made Y/N clench her legs tighter together, her mind racing with all the things that could happen in the next few days, the next few minutes even... She thought back to the last time he'd fucked her, seeing his face between her legs as he completely unraveled her. She felt herself growing wet at the thought.
"Absolutely not," she finally managed to respond. She hoped he would come over to her in a few long strides, pulling her in and kissing her right there, but instead he simply said, "Hmm," and turned back to his machine, putting in quarters.
He could have been playing games with her again, but she didn't want to take the chance. So she grew bolder and leaned back on her hands, puffing out her chest to the air and tilting her head to the side, letting her hair fall and exposing her neck to him. "Well, we have some time to spare, babe. What do you say we make the most of it?"
She was genuinely surprised to see him blush and freeze in his tracks, fumbling with the last few quarters as he inserted them into the machine and started the timer. "R-right now?"
"Duh," she replied, giggling.
"Somebody could come in... O-or hear us." A twinge of worry dripped from every syllable as he spoke, and though Y/N's first instinct was to apologize for suggesting it and letting it go, she thought better of it after remembering what got them into this situation in the first place.
So she scoffed. "Oh, please. You weren't the least bit worried about someone hearing us before. Y'know... When you promised to fuck me so hard I would scream your name and everyone could hear, and then I did? And besides, even if someone walked in right now, they'd probably just leave and come back later. People probably have sex with each other in here all the time."
"I doubt that, this place is filthy. Hardly the right setting for something so... intimate," he replied more clearly, obviously trying to win this argument. Though, something told Y/N he really was a little bothered about how dirty the laundry room was.
She shook her head. "You and I both know that what we did wasn't intimate. It was downright filthy, so if anything it works perfectly for where we are."
"Y/N, I don't know..." He chewed on his bottom lip and shuffled on his feet, refusing to look at her.
"Well, I'm not gonna force you to do anything you don't want to do, obviously, but... You can trust me. I've been doing my laundry here basically every Friday night since I moved here, and since Olivia is working tonight, she won't be here, and neither will anyone else."
"Well, I showed up, didn't I? Anything could happen."
She sighed, a little tired of arguing but still wanting to win. Her body tingled and practically ached at the sight of him, needing to feel his touch yet again. Maybe it was slightly pathetic, but if there was just the slightest chance that he would fuck her like that again, she had to try her damnedest.
So she had another trick up her sleeve, silently praying to the laundry gods that they would take pity on her and grant her this one thing. "You're right, but don't you think that you coming down here just moments after me was bound to happen? Like after everything we've experienced, we were always meant to have a quickie in the laundry room of our apartment building?"
He genuinely seemed to think about it for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. "Truthfully I think it's more of a coincidence than anything that we showed up here at the same time."
There's your chance, Y/N, don't fuck it up, she thought to herself, hoping that with the seductive tone in her voice and the puppy dog look in her eye, it would be enough to get her what she wanted. "I was joking. Of course it's a coincidence, I just want you to fuck me."
He only stayed silent, fiddling with his hands and his eyes flicking between her and the floor before he caught her eye. In another attempt to entice him, Y/N batted her eyes and slowly spread her legs wide, scooting back a little so she could rest her heels on the top of the washer. "Don't you want to fuck me into the washing machine, baby?"
That was the last straw, the thing that pushed Spencer over the edge. He whispered, "Fuck it," to himself before striding over to her and cradling her face in his hands, bringing her to him and kissing her hard. She initially yelped at how harsh he was, but after a second she melted into him, leaning forward and bringing him closer.
She tried to wrap her legs around his torso, but he grabbed them by the ankles and kept them spread open, pulling away to look into her eyes. "Keep 'em open, pretty girl." The old nickname made her whimper, just like he knew it would, and his gaze burned into hers hotly for a few seconds before he bent down, kissing her inner thigh just below the hem of her shorts. She sighed as he trailed his lips and tongue along every inch of skin, switching to the other leg and giving it the same attention until he was ready for more.
Rather than pulling off her shorts and underwear, Spencer simply pushed the fabrics aside and immediately licked a long, flat strip up her pussy, to which Y/N sharply inhaled and reached out, grabbing his hair. He explored her just as thoroughly as he had the last time, his fervor unmatched and absolutely intoxicating as he pushed himself closer and closer, practically living between her legs. Due to the short time constraint and fear of getting caught, he didn't waste time teasing her, and he seemed determined to finish before the buzzing of the washer signaled clean clothes.
Naturally though, he couldn't not tease her, so just as she was about to finish with his lips wrapped around her clit, he pulled away and left her breathless and frustrated.
"Really? We're doing this again?" she huffed, pouting.
Spencer unbuckled his belt and raised his eyebrow. "All in due time, sweetheart. Come here."
Unsurprisingly, she did what she was told, jumping off the washer and waiting further instructions. It didn't take long for Spencer to move, only a few seconds passing by before he turned her around and pushed her against the washer, to which she instinctively bent her torso over it. She gripped the sides of it tightly as he ran his hands up her shirt and caressed her back, eventually using one hand to grip her waist and the other to lift her leg up, setting it on the washer. She readjusted, reaching her hands forward to grip the top of it as he slid his hand down her leg and toyed with the fabric of her shorts.
"Listen carefully," he said, causing Y/N's heart to pound harder in her chest. "I'm clean. Are you?"
"Yes," she stated simply, loud and clear, though adding a hint of desperation as to hopefully speed the process along. She knew this communication was important, but damn if she didn't just want to be railed into next week already.
"Birth control?"
She swallowed nervously, hoping it wouldn't change his mind. "I'm not on it."
"Noted," is all he said, before deftly moving her shorts and underwear to the side and slamming into her with no warning. She yelped, leaning her head back as he pounded into her, the cold metal of the washing machine digging into her skin. It was the best kind of painful pleasure, only made better when he gripped her hair into a makeshift ponytail and yanked her to him, deepening his angle inside of her and hitting that sweet spot every time.
"Spencer, I'm..." She could barely breathe, and she loved it, already feeling herself start to unravel.
"Close already, pretty girl?" he purred in her ear, right before pressing a wet kiss to her neck as he craned her head to the side for better access. "Figures... You've always been so easy to please. Such a good, needy little slut for me, huh?"
Y/N groaned at the new name, and it spurred him forward, encouraging him to push them both further into the washing machine as he moved his hips harder. "Please," she gasped, only seconds away from losing herself.
"Tell me what you want," he growled in her ear.
She squeezed her eyes shut and spoke as clearly as she could, not caring how loud she was being. "I wanna cum! Please, Spencer, please!"
"Do it," he grunted, giving her a few more deep, purposeful thrusts to aid in her high. "I got you, pretty girl." That's what did it for her. She yelled out as her body tensed and her walls fluttered around him, everything absolutely burning and blinding until eventually she was spent.
Spencer held himself inside of her for a few seconds, bringing himself closer to the edge before he roughly pulled out and away, leaving Y/N empty and alone. She was tired as hell and completely fucked out, but still she wanted more than anything to help him, ever the needy little slut, as he'd so eloquently called her. So she turned around, peeling herself away from the washing machine and dropping to her knees in front of him, not waiting for him to say anything.
She promptly leaned forward and wrapped her mouth around his cock, wasting no time hollowing her cheeks and setting a fast pace sucking him off. It had somewhat taken him by surprise, but he welcomed it, gathering her hair away from her face and watching as she went to work, practically worshipping the ground he stood on. Eventually she pushed herself all the way forward, allowing him to hit the back of her throat. Instead of pulling back to breathe, she held herself there and gagged, looking up at him with tears in her eyes before removing herself, taking two deep breaths, and going right back to work.
"Look at you," he mused, his voice barely there but with enough volume that allowed Y/N to hear him. "You look so good, pathetic and choking on my cock. Such a good fucking girl, fuck—"
In no time he was gripping her hair tighter and his breathing started to falter. Y/N held herself still as he came in her mouth, most of it hitting the back of her throat and all of it coating her tongue. She moaned around him, blinking tears away and running her hands over his ass until he pulled away from her and let go of her hair.
Standing up, Y/N swallowed most of his cum but purposely let some of it spill out of her mouth and down her chin, to which she used her middle finger to scoop it up and slide it back into her mouth. She kept eye contact with him the whole time, watching as his tongue flicked over his bottom lip before he bit it softly.
Once she was done cleaning herself up, Y/N ran a hand through her hair and smiled. "See, that wasn't bad at all. No trouble."
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only trouble is you. Eavesdropping, making me fuck you in a semi-public place, et cetera..." He laughed as he pulled his pants up and re-adjusted himself as though nothing had happened.
"Don't act like you don't like it," Y/N teased, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing a deep kiss to his lips. He laughed against them, pulling her closer by her waist and resting his hands there when she pulled away.
As if to signal the end of their... whatever they were going to call it, Y/N's washer buzzed and she turned around to attend to her laundry. As she transferred the clothes from the washer to the dryer, Spencer came up behind her and brushed the hair away from her neck.
"You know, I wasn't trying to be mean or anything when I... called you a slut. I would never want to be mean to you or anything, and I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable."
Y/N almost laughed, amused again by how dominant he was during sex but then immediately a big 'ol softie once it was over. It was such a fun contrast, and truthfully, as much as she loved his dominant side, she wanted to see more of his softer one. So she turned around to meet him and caressed his cheek, smiling kindly. "I know you don't mean it to be mean. It was hot. And I appreciate you checking up on me, it's sweet. You're sweet."
Before he could say anything, his washer buzzed. So he settled on leaning forward, kissing her cheek, and walking away to do his laundry.
The two of them worked in silence for a while, just enjoying each other's company until they realized they both had to wait for the dryer. 20 minutes.
"Round two?" he asked her with a mischievous grin.
Y/N returned it and took a step towards him when the door opened, laundry gods be damned.
"Oh, hey guys!" Olivia from down the hall chirped as she walked in, striding to her own station.
At least they had the rest of the weekend.

🤍 communal property /// Ushijima x f!Reader x Tendou
Tumblr media
Summary: Tendou shares everything with Ushijima—his food, his dorm room, even the AVs he likes. Why not his girlfriend, too?
Tags/warnings: poly relationship in progress (only you and Tendou are dating at this point), mild suggestiveness ??, s*ze k*nk
Status: 10k words written (holy fuck lol) out of ~11k total? this bitch better get finished is2g
After the match, your voice is hoarse from screaming but you still manage to yell congratulations for your boyfriend when you meet him and Ushijima outside the locker room in the stadium. You’re pumped on the adrenaline of the game, so you don’t even protest like you usually would when Tendou picks you up in the middle of your hug and lifts you off the ground effortlessly. “How was I? Awesome, right? I told you we would beat them!”
“You did, you so did—“ Even though your throat hurts, you can’t help gushing about every rally, every soul-crushing block, every impossible spike. “—and then the guy on the left thought he was clear to shoot it but you just—“ You throw your arms in the air and mime hitting the ball down like a blocker. “Wha-bam!—and the look on his face! I thought he was going to punch you!”
Tendou laughs and lays a sloppy kiss on your cheek, just as thrilled as you are by the win. “You really liked it that much? I thought you weren’t into sports.”
“I loved it! You were so cool! I can’t believe I’m dating someone so cool!” You wrap your legs around his back and hug his face close to yours, reveling in the fact that this weirdo belongs to you wholly and entirely, that you get to have him to yourself (well, other than his roommate). “And I’m not into sports, I’m into you.”
Tendou smiles in a way that makes the sides of his eyes crinkle up and little red patches bloom over his cheeks, a look that says, I like you so much (Y/N), I like you I like you I like you, except he’s probably trying not to be mushy like that since Ushijima is standing off to the side.
You feel a little bad for ignoring him (no one likes being the third wheel, even if he never shows signs of caring) so when Tendou sets you down you turn to Ushijima. “And you! Holy shit, Tendou said you were good, but I didn’t know you were that good. The ball when you hit it was super loud—honestly, how are your hands okay? If I hit it that hard I’d probably break something.”
“My hands are fine…this is normal for me.”
But just because you’ve got them here in front of you and you’re still pumped from the exhilaration of the win, you can’t help grabbing Ushijima’s hand and flipping it palm-up to inspect. True to his word, there’s no redness, just the calluses he’s built up on his long fingers. “Wow.”
“You don’t need to worry about Wakatoshi,” Tendou tells you, grinning and then making a face. “He’s a monster, he can handle it.”
“No kidding. You’re both monsters.” You put the base of your palm up against Ushijima’s to gauge the size of his hand against yours, and without prompting Tendou grabs your other hand to press against his own. Tendou’s fingers are a bit longer, but Ushijima’s are…thicker, more solid. Your hands look like a little kid’s in comparison. “Can I be honest? Half the time I was thinking I actually feel bad for the other team. If I had to take on both of you at the same time, I’d probably cry.”
You’re (mostly) joking, but it’s still a complete shock when you see the side of Ushijima’s mouth curl up a tiny bit. You’ve known each other for months at this point, but you’ve never seen him smile until now. Half of you is wondering if this is some kind of optical illusion caused by the atmosphere and the dim light of the stadium cutting through the evening, but the other half of you enjoys it. You made Ushijima smile. You did that.
“Don’t sell yourself short, (Y/N).” Ushijima says, tipping his head to the side.
“Yeah!” Tendou chimes in, resting his chin on top of your head and folding his arms around your neck from his place behind you. “I’m sure you could take both of us. Right, Wakatoshi?”
So that’s probably a sign.
🤍 sunshower /// Atsumu x f!Reader x Osamu

Summary: [Kitsune AU] You find an old Ō-Inari shrine in the woods that may not be as abandoned as it looks.
Tags/warnings: Shinto religion, this preview is biased toward tsumu oops, yearning/soft vibes
Status: 3.9k words written out of 5–6k? total
Atsumu was the one who found you.
That’s how he likes to talk about it, that he found you, like you’d still be wandering around lost in the woods if it weren’t for him. Osamu thinks you would have found your way back home eventually but Atsumu likes it better this way, this framing that makes it seem like they saved you.
It’s hard for him to tell time linearly the way humans do but you mention once that you’ve known them for a year and that seems to fit. It’s spring now, almost barely tipping into summer, and it was spring when Atsumu found you. He remembers because of the way it was raining: light and tender, a summer rain early in the season, each little drop tapping off a leaf and then rolling into the forest bed to be eaten up by the grass and the soil.
Atsumu likes the rain, likes the sweet earthy smell it makes and the way the plants look so lush and green and alive, like they’d bleed if he sunk his teeth into them. He was out in the woods because of the rain ('Samu was in the shrine, as usual, attempting to set buckets under the millions of holes in the roof so the rainwater wouldn’t pool and rot through the wood underneath). But Atsumu was half asleep in a tree when he heard you crashing through the undergrowth, tripping over ferns and snapping every twig in your path (thought ya might be a bear, he tells you later, that’s how loud ya were) but he wouldn’t really have woken up if he hadn’t heard you singing.
(The odd thing is, you weren’t actually singing. You remember that day as vividly as they do: the warm, humid air making your skin feel sticky under your yellow raincoat; the tiny raindrops filtering through the canopy and kissing your cheeks; the ink feathering out on the damp xerox of the old map you found in your great-aunt’s attic so you could barely make out the “X” that was supposed to mark the location of the lost Inari shrine… You were cursing how stupid you’d been to go on a wild goose chase into the mountains with no cell service and no marked trail to look for a shrine that no one had seen in decades. You definitely weren’t singing.)
But Atsumu remembers it differently. No matter how many times you explain that you were just talking to yourself, when he replays the sound of your voice back then (reaching and lilting and falling, the way the birds talk to each other in the early morning, except the music of it was poured into syllables and words), it sounds like you’re singing. He wasn’t sure at first, hadn’t heard a voice that wasn’t Osamu’s in so many years that he gets tired counting them, but then he saw you push into view from between two bushes and he thought, a human!
A girl, too—it was hard to say at first because you were wearing that weird, slick jacket of yours, so bright yellow it was like an oversized flower blooming out of the grass, but then you tilted your head up to feel the rain on your face and the hood fell down and he knew. Not just a human, a girl! Atsumu wanted to yell for Osamu, make him come and confirm that there was a person wandering around not a mile from the shrine. A real person! Singing and smiling and wiping the rain off her cheeks (does that mean you like the rain, just like he does? did you come out to feel it too?) But he also wanted to surprise Osamu so he hid his tails and his ears and came down from the tree and asked if you had lost your way in the forest, since you were so far from any path…
When you think back on this yourself you’re amazed that you just went with him: a strange boy (man?) wearing a fox mask and traditional Shinto priest robes, which were somehow pristine white and red despite him having appeared from nowhere in the middle of a dense forest, who told you he had no idea what direction the village was but he could take you to the Inari shrine you’d been searching for…well. Maybe you were too surprised to be wary, or maybe you were just exhausted and lost. But you like to think you had a sense of it even then, the irrational belief that the boy in the woods was not just a boy in the woods.
Atsumu thinks you knew. Humans always understand, even when they try not to… He remembers, he took your hand that day in the forest and you saw that the claws on his fingers were too long to be human, and you said nothing because on some level you already felt it. Your skin was cool then, smooth and damp from the rain; he wanted to stop, run his hands up your arms, touch the places on your face where your mouth had been turned up at the corners and press his fingers into your cheeks.
🤍 corporate ethics /// Kuroo x f!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: [Office AU] The new junior marketing associate just happens to be Kuroo’s favorite camgirl, and he’s having trouble keeping his hands to himself.
Tags/Warnings: boss/employee, businessman!Kuroo as a reformed player, camgirl reader, this excerpt has a lil bit of 18+ content 👀
Status: 1.2k words written out of 4k? words total
Kuroo doesn’t watch porn.
It’s not, like, a moral principle or something. He has nothing against pornography. As far as he knows, it’s perfectly normal for single men. He just doesn’t like it…unless it’s you.
When he was in school it was easy. Being a teenager meant being so flooded with hormones that a warm breeze could get him up, and the adrenaline rush of winning a game was better than any big-titted porn actress faking moans into a shit-quality boom mic. Sure, he watched porn back then (what teenage boy didn’t?), but it was more out of curiosity than necessity. It was all kind of a mystery at that point, the way it can only be when you’re a clueless virgin and you and all your friends are too busy practicing for the next game to get girls.
Somehow Bokuto was the first one in their friend group to lose his virginity, and the memory of the dumbass self-consciously describing the experience has been lodged in Kuroo’s brain for the 10+ years since. “It was…I don’t know. She smelled good. You know how girls always smell good?” Bokuto’s hands twitched and his face was pink. “It’s just really…soft.”
Soft was right, Kuroo would reflect when he got laid for the first time a few months later. Soft, warm, wet. Sex was awkward at first, but before he knew it it was more natural than breathing.
It didn’t change much after high school, either. He didn’t get into volleyball for the groupies, but they didn’t hurt. There were girls when he played for his college team, more girls when he joined a business frat, so many girls he couldn’t keep track…they blurred together after a while. It didn’t take effort. You don’t need game when you’re 6’2 and you’re in the gym 40 hours a week, and you definitely don’t need porn.
So he never got into it. Now that he’s promoting volleyball instead of playing, things are more complicated. Kuroo’s never been the type who expects things to fall in his lap, but there are so many rules when it comes to dating in the real world. Good morning texts, anniversaries, flowers, parents. It’s exhausting. One time—seriously, just one time—Kuroo misses his girlfriend’s birthday to go watch a Jackals game, and the next time he sees her she throws her drink on him in public and keys his car. After that, Kuroo decides that until he’s ready to settle down there will be no more girlfriends. Which means no more reliable sex. Which means resorting to porn.
Which means you.
You, batting your eyelashes at the camera and biting the side of your lip. You, purring and mewing like a kitten. You, lying back on your pretty pink bedsheets in your pretty pink lingerie, sliding your hands between your legs. It takes Kuroo a full month to decide to pay for access to your website (Kenma’s unsolicited recommendation) but it takes less than five minutes for him to upgrade access to premium. You look like a wet dream—no, you look like the centerfold of every dirty magazine Kuroo managed to get his hands on when he was younger. Pristine and alluring and so deliciously out of reach.
And you make it so simple. No delicate emotional games with rules Kuroo never bothered to learn. No pretending to care how your day was. You untie the little bows on the side of your panties and lick your fingers and Kuroo just has to take his dick out and watch you. Getting off hasn’t been this easy for him since college. You’re a camgirl, you exist on his computer screen, and that’s how he likes it.
Which makes it a lot more awkward when Kuroo finds out that the only woman he’s gotten off to in the past…year, maybe?…somehow just got hired in JVA’s sports promotion department as his junior associate.
Your prim work blouse is buttoned up to the collar and your makeup is different, but he knows it’s you. You have to tell him your name twice because he’s too stunned to respond the first time, and even then he can’t summon up more of a response than a curt nod because his mouth tastes like dirt.
You smile a little awkwardly at his cool reception, and the hand you’d extended out to shake swings back down to your side. “Um, the guy at HR said he sent up my info yesterday…I’ll be working directly underneath you?”
Directly underneath me. Kuroo is taking a sip of his coffee when you say this. He doesn’t spit it out, but it’s close.

Y/N has enough of the brothers attacking Mammon, and comforts him when he needs her the most. One thing leads to another, and, well... let’s just say they go for the ride of a lifetime.
18+! MINORS, PLEASE DO NOT INTERACT!
If you like my work, please feel free to like, comment, follow, share, or REBLOG. Thank you for taking the time to read my first piece!
It was a gloomy day down in the Devildom, just one of those days where tensions were high in the House of Lamentation. You were in your room, having just completed your homework so you began studying for a test coming up in the next few days. You had a good feeling you were going to ace it, so you began to organize your books and papers and stash them away in your bag.
You were tired. You had felt overworked as of late, always having work to do, or having one of the brothers drag you into one of their troubles as usual. But today? Nobody had reached out. Everyone had seemed so distant from one another. That wasn’t normal, it was always loud in the house no matter where you went. The fact that it was so quiet for once was shocking.
You finished packing up your school supplies and leaned your backpack against your desk in your room. You just wanted to relax, so you decided to ease your chest and arms comfortably onto your desk and scroll through Devilgram for a while. Looking through the brothers’ profiles always put a smile on your face, because they sometimes posted the most hilarious pictures. However, you found yourself on Mammon’s profile for the longest.
He was a model, of course he was stunning. Perfectly-tanned skin, luscious snow white locks gracing his head, the most beautiful blue eyes that almost glowed gold. You could never tell him how you really felt, he would just push you away. Plus, there was probably some model out there who was after him already anyways. Why would Mammon want to be with some weak human?
You jumped slightly as a text notification popped up on your screen.
“Dinner is ready, please make your way to the dining hall. You wouldn’t want Beel to get to your plate first,” Lucifer sent. You chuckled and began to make your way down to have dinner. Hopefully, it wouldn’t be as awkward as it was earlier that day.
You make it down to the dining hall, not a single of the brothers making eye contact with you. You froze in your tracks. You can’t lie, that hurt a little bit, you figured at least one of them might greet you.
“Good to see you, Y/N. Come, take a seat. I know you have been working hard up there, you need to eat well,” Lucifer stated, a slight smile on his face. He was glad that at least one of you was focused on your studies that day.
You smiled, finally someone broke the awkward silence. “Thank you Lucifer.”
You made your way around the long table to find an open seat. Your heart fluttered as you walked your way past Mammon, smelling the arousing scent of his cologne waft past your face. You smiled and let out a low but happy sigh, and he looked up for just a second having heard you, a light blush on his face. “Y’know I don’t bite, you can come sit next to me human,” Mammon said lightly, making eye contact with you for the first time that day.
You felt a shudder run down your spine. His voice is so alluring, you could listen to it all day every day. A blush forms on your cheeks as you take a seat next to him.
Everyone around you is surprisingly in their own conversations with one another, which is pretty odd after earlier. Although, you were happy to hear the voices of all of your favorite people around the room. You couldn’t dare to complain, it was nice seeing everyone let go of the awkward tension that had previously filled the House of Lamentation. This, however, was short-lived.
You were almost done with your dinner, only a few forkfuls left, when you heard an argument start. “Oh great, here we go again,” you thought to yourself as you looked up to see Lucifer standing up behind Mammon. You didn’t have a good feeling about this.
“You worthless scumbag, what did you do with my new Ruri-chan figure?!” Levi yelled, close enough to Mammon’s face to spit on him whilst speaking.
“My new perfume went missing too, I bet it had something to do with that idiot,” Asmo shouted across the table at him, a sour glare on his face.
“Come to think of it, my new mystery novel went missing last night, I was going to read it but I couldn’t find it,” Satan added to the fire.
The twins began to spew on about how much of a moron Mammon was, him having done nothing to either of them. Lucifer began to holler at Mammon about every little thing he finds wrong when you realize that was the last straw. You weren’t going to sit there and let everyone torment the demon that meant most to you. You looked over at Mammon, trembling in his seat, trying to hold back tears as his brothers kept pushing him further and further over the edge. He looked like he could break at any second. You know for a fact he didn’t take anyone’s things, he was with you all day yesterday. It couldn’t have been him.
“KNOCK IT OFF, ALL OF YOU! BACK OFF! I THINK HE’S HAD ENOUGH ALREADY!” you shouted at the top of your lungs. The boys all froze in shock and fear, never expecting that out of you. Tears began to stream down your face. You never thought you would see the day that you would have to break up an argument, especially when the only people Mammon trusted were his brothers. Seeing them all treat him like shit made you angry  and upset.
“Y/N...” Lucifer sighed and began to speak, but you weren’t going to give him the chance to continue.
“C’mon Mammon, you don’t deserve this, let’s get out of here,” you gently took hold of Mammon’s hand and dragged him away from the table towards his bedroom. The dining hall fell completely silent once again.
You make it all the way to Mammon’s bedroom door when he stops you in your tracks, pulling your arm back towards him lightly. You turn around to see his cheeks burning red, the tears that formed earlier finally starting to come down his face. He looked somewhat relieved, somewhat embarrassed at the same time. He just barely lifted his head to look you in the eyes.
“You didn’t have to go and do that for me human, ya know I can’t handle m’self, right? I-I just needed to think of what t’say...” he said softly, not enough confidence in his voice for you to believe it for a second.
He was shaking, more so than when he usually gets yelled at. You gently let go of his hand and lifted your hand to cup his right cheek, brushing away his tears with your thumb. He felt so warm.
“Mammoney, I wasn’t just going to sit there and let them stomp all over you like that. They have NO evidence to prove that you took anything from them, but they kept going anyway. I’m so sick of their bullshit, watch them find all of their things that they misplaced themselves. I hope they hate themselves for treating you like that.” You loosened your hand from his cheek and tucked your body against his, arms wrapped around his warm shoulders, bringing him in for a cozy embrace.
This broke him. He leaned into your embrace, the tears streaming down his face as he sobbed into the crook of your neck. The two of you stood in a hug for at least 2 minutes straight, neither of you daring to break away. It just felt so nice, you never wanted to let go.
“Th-thank you Y/N, I’m glad you trust me enough t’know I wouldn’t steal their boring stuff. Why would I need Asmo’s perfume, let alone Satan’s book? Y’know, I-I wonder if they think before they point f-fingers like that. C’mon human, let’s get inside, I just w-wanna relax.” Mammon explains with the slightest blushy grin on his face. He opens the door to let you in first, and closes it behind him.
You had never been in Mammon’s room before, he’s never let you in before now. Your eyes scanned around the room, in awe of how cozy it was. His plush leather sofa and a mahogany wood pool table beside it, bottles of alcohol and a few grimm strewn across it. He has a projector rather than a television, two speakers beside the coffee table below it. He has an open concept closet, adorned with studio lights, and his bed pressed flush on the other side of the wall. His room has two floors, the only things up there being his entryway door... and a car? How did he get this in here? What kind of car was it? How interesting. Rather than walking down the stairs as Mammon was expecting you to do, you made your way towards his car and leaned against the hood.
“Is this your car? It’s so amazing! I can’t imagine how much money you must have put into this beauty,” you exclaimed, being somewhat an admirer of cars, having been raised by your father who’s life revolves around them. You grazed your hand over the headlights and the grill along the front, a glint in your eyes from the spotlights shining down on you and the car.
Mammon was standing next to the door, choked up to say the very least. He was blushing furiously, gripping into his lush white hair with his hand, head tilted down and giggling. “Y’mean my Demonia? It’s nothing really, Lucifer helped me get it a while back once I got my license. Pretty cool right? Of course the Great Mammon is cool!” he chuckled, barely able to keep eye contact with you. The truth was, the car meant a lot to him and it did cost a lot, but he couldn’t focus on that right now. He was too busy staring you down, lights glistening against your soft skin, looking oh-so-hot leaned up against his car like that. Little did you know you were his treasure, he admired you every second he got, whether you realized it or not. He began to walk over to you, leaning next to you on the hood, resting his hand softly against yours, interlocking fingers with you.
Needless to say, you were surprised. You jumped slightly at his touch, hesitant to move. You returned the favor regardless, locking your fingers between his, the warmth of his body flushing through your veins, instantly calming you. He means everything to you, and now this? How can you not tell him how you feel now? This was the best opportunity you could get your hands on. You let go of his hand and made your way off of the hood of the car, locked his bedroom door, dimmed his lights slightly, and made your way back over to him. You inched closer to him, barely hugging distance away.
He was looking up at you softly, still blushing. He was shaking a little bit, but you were too, of course. Now was your chance. It was now or never. Either you tell him how you feel now, or hold it in and never find out if your feelings are reciprocated. Your heart was ready to burst out of your chest, but you couldn’t hold back any longer.
“Mammon, you know I care about you... more than myself sometimes, if I’m being honest. Any time I see you enter the room or my eyes meet up with you, I get tons of butterflies inside. You make me feel like I’m not just some useless human that nobody likes. You make me feel special, and I just want you to know that... I love you. I’m in love with you...” you paused, too nervous to continue.
Mammon.exe has stopped working. You... love HIM? The moron, the idiot, the scumbag? You deserve better, but he can’t deny how he really feels. His brothers aren’t anywhere around, so now’s his chance.
“I-human I... I love you too. Y’mean everything to me. I can’t stand seeing my brothers eyeing you up and taking all of my time with ya away from me. You’re MY human... my... my treasure. You deserve better than me, I’m just some lousy good-for-nothi-” he couldn’t speak anymore. You held him by his cheeks and pulled his face to yours, kissing him on his lips. The first tender moment shared between the two of you, your first kiss. He sits still for a moment before realizing what’s happening, leaning into your kiss and holding you by your waist. Your chests graze against one another as the kiss turns more passionate. Mammon slides his tongue against your lips asking for permission before you slide your tongue in between his. You felt higher than a kite at that moment, the butterflies seemingly flying out through the top of your head.
Before long, you were straddling his lap on the hood of his car, breathing into his neck as he planted kisses along your collarbone, nibbling at you and caressing your lower back. You both pulled away from each other to look into each others’ eyes.
“So this is really happening huh?” you blush and look down, feeling a tad bit shy. Mammon brings his hand up to your cheek, some of his fingers lacing into your hair. “We don’t have to do anything ya don’t wanna do, but first...” he places his hands lovingly on your hips and looks into your eyes. “I want you to be mine and only mine, ya hear? No mackin’ on my brothers or anythin’... you’re MY treasure. Well, if you’ll let me have ya...” he starts blushing too, barely able to keep his eyes on you. The words you have been waiting to hear, that you’re HIS and only his... it makes you melt. You hold onto his hips, and lean in to whisper into his ear. “Of course I’m yours, and only yours. You can have all of me if you want it, and I mean ALL of me...” you whisper and nibble on his earlobe, a smirk forming across your face.
He can’t hold back anymore. He slams his mouth against yours in the most passionate kiss, moaning against your lips and pulling you in closer, pressing you against his chest. His hands start to slip under your shirt, making their way up your bare back until he reaches about midway. He looks at you as if he’s asking permission, to which you respond by grazing your hands over his upper thighs. You lean in once again to whisper sensually, “So have you ever done it in your car?”
His excitement cannot be contained, his body heats up hotter as the bulge in his pants grows harder. Without another word, Mammon scoots off of the car, grabbing you underneath your thighs and carrying you into the backseat of his car, placing you gently while he pushes the seats back and reclining them back further. The open space has grown larger. He climbs his way into the car and shuts the door behind him, hovering over you.
He doesn’t waste any time before he starts to undress you. He slips your uniform jacket off followed by your tank top, revealing your black lace bralette. You whisper in his ear “You like that? I bet you’ll like it more when you see the panties I have to match.”
You set off a fire in his chest, a low growl seeping out from his throat. He sheds his uniform jacket and tears off his undershirt, a huge ripping noise emerging, making you increasingly wet as the tension increases. His bare chest is a glorious sight to behold... so sexy and strong, so protective.
He pushes you back against the seat and makes room to slide off your uniform pants, whilst you slide your shoes off and kick them into the passenger seat beside you. He makes his way down to your feet, carefully sliding off your socks which he notices have a grimm pattern on them, and slyly smirks. His eyes scan your exposed skin from your head to your toes and back up, revving him up even more.
He begins to kiss you from your feet, up your calves and your thighs, until he reaches your inner thighs. Your black lace panties meet his face, becoming more and more flushed. He slides his hands up to the waistband and toys with the lace, planting his face against the fabric. That smell... the smell of arousal... it’s so strong. He could only imagine how wet you are for him. He looks up at you and you nod, giving permission to continue.
Mammon growls and grabs your waistband with his teeth, the sound of tearing lace floods the car. You moan in response, wishing you could hear him like this all the time. Your hands reach down to your now exposed heat and stroke the lips, shining from how slick he made you. Mammon’s eyes start shining, staring down as if he’s a predator who’s just hunted down his prey. He licks his lips and flashes his teeth, slight fangs showing. You spread your lips for him and make your legs more comfortable, inviting him to take a taste.
“Mn... you’re so perfect Y/N, so wet for me, I can almost taste it,” he leans down and begins lapping his tongue at your clit. Shudders run up and down your spine from the senastion, bringing out a sensual moan from your chest, back arching. Mammon grips onto your thighs and holds them open. He drags his tongue up and down your opening, sliding it inside of you. He moans into you, admiring how you taste, your flavor. He makes his way back up to your clit, the tip of his tongue dancing around it. He looks up and you and smirks, sliding two fingers inside of you, pulsing them in and out at a steady pace, curling his fingertips from time to time. You can’t help but let out a moan, never having felt so stimulated and so turned-on before.
“M-Mammon... p-p-please... k-keep going b-baby...” you moaned out as he brought you closer and closer to your orgasm. Did you just call him your baby? Oh, he heard that. He wants to hear it again. He pulses his fingers inside you faster and faster, sucking on your clit, giving you no mercy. The heat inside of you is unbearable. You begin to buck your hips against his face and grab him by the hair, pushing him against your heat, your other hand gripping tightly against the leather seat below you,
It was taking everything Mammon had to not whip himself out and slam himself into you, but he had to make himself more comfortable. As he continued, he used his left hand to undo his pants, releasing his bulge hidden by his boxers. He was only getting harder as you moaned his name again and again.
“I’m... I’m gonna.. gaaaAAAHH!” you moaned out as you reached your orgasm, letting your grip loose from his hair as your body let go of the tension. Mammon laps his tongue down to clean up the mess you made. He gathers some on his tongue, looking up to you with his tongue sticking out, when he suddenly takes it into his mouth and swallows you.
He notices the flaming blush that adorns your cheeks. He brings himself up, sitting on your thighs, his bulge prominent. You stare down his body, glazed in sweat, realizing he lapsed into his demon form as you came down from your orgasm. His horns were shining, wings folded against his back as the car wasn’t a big enough space to let them free. You were positioned on the driver’s side back passenger’s seat, so you decided to slide into the center seat. You reach your hands to touch Mammon’s back, stroking his wings ever so gently. He moans in response, realizing he’s sensitive there. You begin to help guide them open as he leans into you. They fly open and block the whole view out of the windshield, darkening the space between you.
Your hands come down to meet his waistband, tugging on it carefully. You look up into Mammon’s eyes, he can see the desire written over your face. He makes his bulge dance in response, prompting you to go for it. You drag down his boxers and out springs his length, glistening from his precum. It looks so tasty. You lean back in your seat to where you are practically laying down, gripping behind his thighs and urging him to come forward. He was on his knees, his length shadowing over your chest, his tip just barely against your lips. You hold yourself up by your elbows, turning up to him, teasing him “I bet you want your cock in my mouth, don’t you Mammon? You want to see your fragile human squirm under you, taking all of you inside of them?”
Oh, you did it now. His claws getting ever so longer as a growl comes from deep in his chest. “If you want it, show me just how badly,” your last words as he gripped your hair and pushed your mouth around his length, letting out a choke. He moaned in pleasure as he felt himself at the back of your throat, vibrations coming from you barely fitting him inside you. Mammon begins thrusting his hips back and forth, you sucking up on his length oh-so-perfectly. The smell of arousal and the sound of moans fill the car, enveloping both of you. All either of you can feel is bliss. He breaks the silence.
“Y-Y/N... y-you’re so warm, ya s-suck me off so well, k-keep going, I’m getting close-” He can’t speak anymore, feeling the surge of pleasure rush up through his thighs as you swirl your tongue around him, bringing him to the edge. You pull your mouth off of his length and put his hand around it, urging him to get himself off. “I would love if the Great Mammon would cum for me, I want to feel it all over my face, I want you to make me yours, show me who owns me,” you moan up at him, pulling down your bra to release your warm breasts, toying with them to tease him.
“Oh f-fuck, y-you’re all mine, my treasure, my b-baby, I’m.. I’m...” he groans out, and he’s pushed over the edge. He bucks forward, letting out a deep deep growl, moaning your name and climaxing all over your face and your chest, his cum hot against your skin. He looks down at you taking his load and lets out another groan, watching as you lap it up with your fingertips, eventually licking them clean.
He pushes you down against the leather seats, his length rubbing against your throbbing heat, aching for you. You let out a squeal from your sensitivity, your chest arching up towards him. You reach your hands down to try to push him into you but he stops you, grabbing your wrists and pinning them down above your head. He pushes his lips firmly against yours, exploring your mouth with his tongue. Your chests are touching, he’s just about burning you with the heat radiating from his body.
He pulls away from your face and looks down to you, it looks like he wants to say something. He looks... nervous? After all of that?
“Mammon, are you okay?” you asked gently, turning your head slightly, a smile on your face. “Y-yeah, I just don’t wanna hurt ya. I tried to open ya up for me but what if it’s too much for your human body to handle?” he sighs and stares away for a moment. He loosens the grip on your wrists and you cup both of his cheeks, whispering up at him softly, “I trust you with my life, Mammon. I feel so safe with you, you’re my protector. The Great Mammon. I promise if it’s too much I’ll tell you right away. It’s okay baby.”
He nods and smiles with a blush in response, he couldn’t be happier to hear you say those words to him, as unexpected as they are.
You spread open your legs for him, situating your body in a more comfortable spot, preparing for the time of your life. You lift yourself up with your hands and whisper into his ear, “Take me for a ride, won’t you?”
He growls and stretches his arms and his back, preparing himself. You want a ride? A ride is what you’re gonna get, and it’s gonna be a bumpy one.
He picks up your bottom half by your thighs, dragging you towards him, putting you in the perfect position. He takes hold of his length and lines himself up with your opening, rubbing his tip up and down your heat. You squirm under him, pleading with him in your head, dying for him to give you what you’ve only dreamed of for nearly a year now. He hears you struggling and lets out a low chuckle, a bit evil. He likes to see you all worked up for him, there’s nothing better, honestly.
He begins sliding his length inside of you, the heat from within immediately making him jolt. He can’t help the arousal from feeling you around him, squeezing him tight. You let out a small whimper and look up to him, concern suddenly written all over his face.
Your wrists had been freed a while ago so you take this opportunity to grab onto his soft bottom, pushing him further into you, moaning right in his ear. It hurts... it hurts so good. He’s so big compared to you. Your eyes roll into the back of your head as he hits the deepest parts of you. You must have awakened something in him, the look in his eyes giving him an almost primal vibe. He leans down and whispers into your ear along with a growl “That’s a good human, take all of me inside of ya, scream my name, ‘m gonna fuck you so hard ya won’t walk for a week...”
He thrusts in and out of you at a fast pace, hitting your core over and over again. You’re both moaning and groaning into each others’ ears. Mammon grips hard onto the headrests of the seats, pounding into you like it’s his last day to live. Your hands grasping at his shoulders, you can’t help but claw your nails down, leaving red scratches all over his back. He almost hisses in response, causing you to moan out louder. He takes his right hand and brings it to your throat, silencing you. Your eyes roll back into your head once again, your back arching and your hands gripping tight against the leather seats, nearly ripping them open.
His thrusts speed up, bringing you closer and closer to the biggest orgasm of your life. Mammon's hand around your throat, you try to let out a sentence, “Mammoney baby, I’m gonna c-cum for you, p-please, d-don’t hold back,” you managed to say. His face goes beat red and wings flutter behind him.
You stroke his horns atop his head, barely letting out one last sentence. “F-fill me up with your cum, m-mark your t-territory, I’m a-all yours-” your sentence is cut off as your orgasm takes over your body, Mammon releasing your throat, you proceeding to scream his name in pleasure as you gripped his length inside of you, trying to juice him.
He pounds his length into you faster and faster, bringing himself to the edge of his climax. He can’t hold back, can’t speak. He brings his head down to bite your neck, leaving teeth marks and a little bit of blood afterwards, marking you as his. He sucks on his marking and groans out loudly in pleasure, unable to contain himself any longer. You can feel his length twitch as he fills you up inside, heating the inner walls of your core, giving you the most butterflies you’ve ever had.
You both look down and giggle along with deep breaths, you did a number to the seats of his car. You look at him in worry as he sees the condition of the leather. He notices that you look scared so he holds you tight to him, body-to-body warmth between you.
“I can already tell what you’re ‘bout to say, and it’s alright. Y’mean more to me than some leather seats. Now I can look at my seats ‘n remember my first time with ya, amirite?” he says with a smile, placing the most gentle of kisses on your lips, glazed with sweat.
You go to try to stand up to get out of the car but your body is beyond it’s limits. Mammon notices you struggling to get up and chuckles. “I told ya you wouldn’t be able t’walk for a while.”
He pulls his boxers back on and picks you up bridal style out of the car seat, carrying you down the stairs and onto his bed gently. He remembers tearing up your underwear so he dashes to his closet, finding one of his favorite t-shirts and a pair of pajama pants and swiftly bringing them over to the bed.
“Put these on, we don’t need ya walking out with stains on your uniform and no underwear,” he explains with a giggle. He looked up at you to see you looking sad. “What’sa matter treasure?”
“Well, I was hoping... maybe... that I could stay with you for the night?” you ask, nervously waiting for a response. Mammon helps you take off your bralette and get dressed in his comfy clothes, and cups your cheek, looking into your eyes.
“Of course y’can stay with me, you’re my human! My treasure! Who wouldn’t wanna stay with the Great Mammon anyway?” he smirks and chuckles, you smacking his chest in return.
He crawls up into the bed with you, laying you next to him and pulling your back into his chest. He covers you both with his bedspread and begins rubbing your arms, resting his cheek against your ear. He had never felt this way before. He really fell for a human. Does he regret it? Not at all, he wouldn’t have it any other way. The only problem now? Now he feels like he has to protect you forever, all the time. He loves you too much to ever see you get hurt.
“S-so... does this mean... y-you’re my girlfriend?” Mammon let out shyly, almost expecting you to say something negative or reject him.
You turn back to face him, your arm around his waist. You smile up at him, “I would love nothing more than to be your girlfriend... your treasure.” You plant the lightest kiss on his forehead and turn back around as he begins to spoon you again. Within the next few minutes, you fell asleep in his arms, not a care in the world, no thoughts besides the thought of being his treasure forever.
The brothers felt bad about what happened earlier and were worried about Mammon’s well-being. Lucifer approached his door with the brothers, quickly realizing it’s locked. He took his master keys out of his coat pocket and unlocked Mammon’s door. He took a few steps in and froze in place. His brothers glanced with him over his shoulder to see Mammon with his arms around you, protecting you, sleeping next to you.
They all couldn’t bring themselves to make a sound. They couldn’t believe their eyes. Y/N... and Mammon?
“It’s about time he told her how he felt!” Asmo shouted as the brothers all shushed him, not wanting to wake the two of you.
“We can talk to him in the morning, let him have peace for once today. I can only imagine Y/N needs rest as well,” Lucifer explained.
Lucifer and the brothers turned around and Lucifer locked the door behind him, a cheeky smirk on his face. He was proud of his brother for finally being honest with himself and taking pride in what he wanted. Would he ever let Mammon know that? Oh, hell no.
I’ve wanted to see a fic about this ever since I fell in love with Mammon and saw his room, so I wrote it!
 I’m only comfortable with F!MC writing since I’ve never familiarized myself with GN!MC or M!MC. My apologies!
I do NOT give permission to post this anywhere else. I also have this posted on Wattpad, my username is daradoodlebug. If you like my work, please feel free to like, comment, follow, share, or REBLOG. Thank you for taking the time to read my first piece!

The Promise of Rain, Blurb 3
Technically the third in a blurb-ish series (though this is kinda long for a blurb lol) but can technically be read as a stand alone, but i think the other parts make this seem more significant lol
A/n kinda angsty, not sure if i loveeee this but i haven’t posted a fic in such a long time bc of graduation chaos but now it’s summer and i’m working on a lot of requests/stories :))
Summary: jealousy is out of place when there’s no real warrant for it, and sometimes it’s okay to be content--to not need the rain to make you promises.
Pairing: Kaz Brekker x sunshine-y! reader
--
Tiredness dulls the part of me that craves the rambunctious, but I’m still positive. I smile when someone does something only the truly inebriated find comical. I laugh when something somewhat actually funny happens, and I let the world around me drink. Twenty minutes--in twenty minutes I will claim a headache and go upstairs.
“You okay, y/n?” Jesper’s concern would border on genuinely considerate if it wasn’t for the slightest hint of slur in his words. Nights in which he consols himself after losing game after game are when he’s the friendliest. “You’re strangely quiet--you’re never quiet.”
I press my lips together oddly, smiling in a way that finally reaches my eyes. Jesper’s nice in an oddly particular way when he’s tipsy. Overly observant and careful. “Just a little tired,” I shift in my seat, leaning back against the plush seat in Kaz’s office, “I wish Kaz would just get here and dismiss us so I can go to bed.”
Jesper smiles, lifting his arm slightly and causing his glass to sway. Kaz is not going to take it well when he realizes that Jesper was extremely involved in the downstairs celebration. He turns ungracefully, moving to sit next to me with no warning. I half-heartedly glare as he takes up most of the small couch.
“You’re grumpy when you’re tired,” Jesper hums, stretching his casually.
I sigh once, but it lacks any bite. “I do not.”
He smiles easily, tilting his head so far to the side that it falls against the back of the seat, “No...but I know the real reason you’re grumpy.”
Rolling my eyes, I suppress my instinctual reaction. That would only expose his words as true. “I am not grumpy, there is no reason--”
“You know he hated it.”
I exhale, tired and slowly losing my fragine hold on fake tranquility. “Yeah.” That should make it  better. “I know.” It doesn’t--it doesn’t make anything better.
So the contact we so desperately needed on our side took to flirting with Kaz. It was an uncomfortable situation because of its precariousness and I was worried because I know about his issues with touch. But it’s not like I care about the flirting part. No. It was unprofessional and so easily turned messy--that’s what my problem was.
Jesper sighs, stretching even more. I let him stretch his legs over me, too tired to push him off. I sigh, setting my chin on his bent knees. “What’s with the face, l/n?”
I roll my eyes again. Sometimes having someone care about you is annoying. I take back all of my positive thoughts about him--Jesper Fahey is an annoying drunk.
“There’s no face,” despite my words, I feel my expression sour even further. Jesper’s expression shifts from that of gentle worry to teasing pride. “And if there was one, it wouldn’t be because of Kaz Brekker.”
Jesper’s lips twitch upwards, something strange tainting his tipsy grin. “I never said a name.”
“One more condescending comment, and I’m shoving you off this damn couch.”
He laughs flatly, shifting closer and making himself more comfortable. Drunk and touchy--anyone else would have been slapped by now. “You’re nicer after some of this.”
He holds his glass out towards me casually, amber liquid sloshing slightly. I blink at the liquid with slight disinterest. I’m not exactly in the drinking mood...but I’m not exactly in the mood for any of this. The sound of the door opening doesn’t phase me--it’s not Inej, because she never lets herself be heard. Kaz doesn’t say anything, taking one dull step and then another, footsteps leaching the room of any warmth. The coldness he exudes so easily as a mask is strong tonight, I haven’t even looked at him and I can feel it.
Maybe I do need a drink.
I take the glass from Jesper, taking a quick and shallow sip of the liquid. It’s offensive in smell, taste, and the way it spills down my throat. The taste is much more intense than expected, some of the liquid slips past the corner of my mouth. Somehow more bitter than this moment, the liquid leaves me ready to splutter like a child. I exhale, pushing through the burning. Jesper moves his hand forward absentmindedly, wiping a single drop of liquid from my chin carelessly. The gesture would be sweet if my throat burned less.
“Jesper,” the warmth of the alcohol takes root in my chest, “That’s--” He laughs at my reaction, coaxing a smile from me. “Like literally the worst--why do you even have this?” If this is served in the Crow Club, I’ve never heard of it, this is the kind of under the counter alcohol that isn’t mass produced.
He laughs a little more freely. “Won it off of someone passing through--I don’t always lose.”
I wrinkle my nose, “An outlier shouldn’t be--”
“Oh, shut up.” Jesper laughs again.
“Both of you ‘shut up’,” Kaz sighs, stepping further into the room, “If you need to drink, at least wait until after my meeting.” I frown, ignoring Kaz’s lingering and sharp gaze, “You should all follow Inej’s example.”
“We can’t even see Inej.”
Kaz raises an eyebrow, but he regards me with nothing but voidness. He’s never exactly emotive, but normally in moments like this something I can never interpret touches his expression, coloring it human. “Exactly.”
“You’re funnier than people give you credit for.” The comment isn’t exactly sarcastic, but it’s something lighter than I should be offering. It’s an attempt at peace, the slight stiffness between us is starting to bother me. Our usual dynamic isn’t exactly friendly, but it’s more than this. Kaz glares. “But not tonight.”
His expression hardens. “Business is business. It’s not humor, it’s not whatever you try to make it.” Right. Just like it was business when that girl spent more time hitting on him than actually revealing real information. The thought leaves my expression tight as I swallow back my instinctual words. “It’s not whatever you’re currently doing.”
It takes me longer than it should to realize he’s referring to the position Jesper and I are in. Can he relax? It’s not my fault Jesper is tipsy and touchy.
“Kaz,” Inej’s voice is soft yet determined as she emerges from the shadows. It’s a miracle the way she’s nothing more than a shadow until she chooses not to be. “What’s our next job?”
Prompting Kaz in order to prevent a fight--Inej, always the closest thing to a mom available. I give her a partial smile, glad that she’s wedging herself between us and the tension, preventing conflict I’m too tired to follow through on.
“A merchant’s house,” he begins slowly, “We’ll be searching a merchant’s house but I’m seeking evidence more than property.” Jesper swings his legs off the couch with no warning. My head falls. I glare at Jesper who offers me a slightly apologetic tsk before dropping his head on my shoulder. Kaz must note the exchange because something in his expression tightens. He’s extra irritable today. “I’ll disclose more tomorrow,” he sighs once, already turning away, “Most of you are beyond listening tonight anyways.”
He’s at the door before I can tell him that I’m not drunk. The door opens and closes, but Kaz’s heaviness lingers like led. I frown, letting my head fall to the side, resting on Jesper’s.
“He’s weird today,” I mumble, unsure if I want a reply.
“He’s always like that,” Jesper breathes, “You’re losing your novelty, y/n--he always learns to harden himself against anything bright.”
The words leave me even more tired. “I don’t think I’m particularly bright.”
“Kaz does,” Inej replies, “And it has nothing to do with ‘novelty’, Jesper’s just cynical when he drinks.” I don’t know if I believe her, but I like knowing that Inej thinks that. “And Kaz can’t harden himself against you, and he hates that.”
I press my lips together, straightening my spine. “I’m not that great, and whatever Kaz does or doesn’t harden himself against doesn’t affect me at all.” My nails press into the plush seat. “I don’t even know why we’re talking about this because whatever he does or doesn’t feel doesn’t matter to me.” I force myself up, doing all I can to seem perfectly calm. “All I care about is going to bed.”
Turning my head, I start to approach the door. Kaz has been strangely cold all night, and while I’m used to his moods, he hasn’t exactly directed them at me so fully since the day he caught me waiting for him to wake up after he almost died. If he wants to go back to how it used to be, then it can. Maybe I’ll care in the morning, when the growing weight of my eyelids is no longer a distraction.
“Sometimes the two of you confuse me,” Inej begins, “And sometimes I see you try to deal with emotion and I see the common ground.”
The words leave me cold. I don’t think being compared to Kaz is an insult, not when there’s so much it could mean. He’s much more complex than he wants to be. There is goodness within him, gilding the parts of him that are more shards than anything else.
I exhale, refusing to turn. Inej is too observant for her own good. “There is no emotion.”
“I’m not going to waste my time arguing over that because I know it’s a waste of time.” She pauses and I consider turning around in hopes of reading something less honest from her expression. “I’m just telling you as a friend that one of you needs to be mature and talk to the other tonight before the tension gets worse and that it’s not going to be him.”
She’s right. I exhale, “Do you think I should let him go?” Even just saying that leaves my heart aching. I know instantly that that’s not what I want, but it might be what he wants--it might be the best option. I might have the strength to let him go if I work at it. “I don’t--that’s not what I want and I’m not sure I could, but maybe that’s selfish of me.”
“Y/n.” I turn slowly, but I purposefully avoid her gaze, keeping my head down. “I know that I’ve known Kaz longer than you, and I know that when he’s getting along with you he’s,” she trails off, uncertain, “More him, in a good way.”
My heart swells, and with that comes feelings of panic. I never wanted to change him--to make him better or worse or anything; all I’ve ever wanted is to know him and to maybe help him with his burden. And to hear that maybe I’ve done that from someone so close to him--someone so observant and aware. That’s everything. And that terrifies me. Nothing good can last; nothing that seems to be all you could ever want actually is. I know that from life before the Crows, before I ran away from the castle I called home.
“I think he does the same for you.” I’ve never really thought about Kaz’s effect on me outside of the fact that he makes me feel warm in small moments and painfully seen in large ones.
I smile because she’s trying and she’s given me something. “I’d say I’d tell you when I make my decision, but something tells me you’ll know.”
She nods, expression shifting to something kind. “Goodnight, y/n.”
Jesper stretches out on the couch, settling himself comfortably, “Night, y/n.”
“Goodnight, guys.” I disappear past the door easily, heading towards my room.
I haven’t decided whether or not I’m going to look for Kaz tonight. How much damage could be done in one night? Maybe he needs space. Maybe seeking him out now will make things worse. I exhale, opening the door to my room easily. I’ll decide before going to sleep.
When I step into the room, everything is in place. Everything is fine--but something about it feels off. The light is on. I didn’t leave the light on. Nothing else raises any red flags, so I continue into the room calmly, examining everything carefully. Nothing feels out of place as I further enter the room. I take in my bed, my dresser, and lastly my nightstand.
My heart swells all over again, but this time it feels even heavier than before. On the center of my nightstand, in perfect condition, is a copy of Pride and Prejudice. The same book I told Kaz about, the one thing besides clothing I took from the palace. I told him it was my mother’s favorite and then he asked me to read it to him.
I can’t picture him seeing this and thinking of me. I can’t picture him thinking of me--but no one else knew about my attachment to the book. I need to find him. I need to--to see him, to speak to him. To look him in the eye and see something I only ever see when we’re alone. Maybe he won’t have that look this time, but that’s okay.
I can’t expect to always understand him, but that does not mean I don’t know him.
The thought leaves me feeling a little more settled within the boundaries of my skin, but I don’t ease entirely. The good is more frightening than the bad. My fear of happiness is a benign secret I haven’t had to worry about in years. I don’t know enough about it to know how to deal with it let alone mention it to Kaz. Not that it’s his problem.
I squeeze the book to my stomach. Swallowing pride is a difficult thing, but I’m used to it with him. It’s usually worth it with Kaz because sometimes when I try he tries in his own way. I should find him. He’s not awfully creative about where he goes when he wants to be alone because people know better than to bother him. Kaz is probably in his attic or getting air outside or…
The lights were on when I came in. I’m an idiot. I didn’t feel weird when I walked into the room because of the book. Someone’s in here. He’s in here.
Setting the book down like I should have never touched it, I let out a sigh. “Lurking is unbecoming.”
“It’s also unbecoming to work for me and be so easily distracted by a book.” His voice reveals nothing as he emerges from the shadows. “I could have killed you with how long it took for you to notice my presence.” He pauses, eyebrows drawing together. “The light was on.”
Normally I’d have some kind of comment, some kind of joke that offers a more peaceful situation. “I know.” It’s a flat response. “I think on some subconscious level I knew,” I drop my gaze away from him, “I knew I was okay.” That sounds dumb. “I mean...I think I knew it was you so I knew I was okay.” Yeah, that wasn’t anymore eloquent. “That doesn’t make sense, but if you get to be confusing, I do too.”
“Confusing? There’s nothing to understand.” Curt. Simple. Dismissive.
I frown. ‘Nothing to understand’. Right, because there’s nothing confusing about how quickly he decided to dismiss me just to bring me some obscenely sentimental gift. “If you’re mad at me, you should at least tell me why.” I press my lips together. “At least that way I’ll know if I need to apologize or kick your ass.”
At that, he presses his lips together, corner of his mouth threatening to tilt upwards. “You would kick my ass?”
Great, even when he’s easing he has to be annoying. “I could.” There is no universe in which I could take him in a physical fight. “On a good day.” I let out a breath, doing all I can to not focus on his expression. Awkwardness settles in my chest as my eyes land on my bed. I sit down, trying not to let my shoulders slump tiredly as I stretch my legs across my bed. “You’re not having a good day.”
“My day is fine, I’m just not naively cheerful like you,” his words turn sharp, “Or Jesper.”
Weird addition. “Jesper’s not cheerful, he’s just drunk.” I let go of the ‘naive’ part, deciding to focus on the bigger picture. “And I’m not as naive or joyful as you think I am.” I’m not sure if I mean that as a rebuttal or just a fact. “I have bad days too.” This isn’t the kind of conversation I should have while this tired. “I could be less cheerful if you’d like.”
He’s so silent I momentarily wonder if he’s left. “No.” It’s not much, but I take it. Straightening my back, I pull my legs beneath me, intentionally creating space. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Ah, blatant rejection. It would sting if I was less in the right. “Maybe you’ll be less weird then.”
“I am not being weird.” At least I’m getting some kind of reaction from him. “You’re the one who--”
“Who what?” Finally--progress.
Kaz sighs, turning slightly. “You’re the one who decided to ignore me after we met with the contact.” I part my lips, ready to retort, but no words come. He did pick up on my slight annoyance, and he reciprocated it in a much larger way.
He can never know that this all came from some ridiculous, territorial--partial jealousy. “I didn’t mean to ignore you,” partial lie, “I’m just kind of in a weird place today, I’m tired.”
“Not too tired for Jesper, it seems.”
What? Is that what this is about? “What? All I did was sit there--he’s a touchy drunk and I just happened to be next to him.”
“You laugh with him,” he says this blankly, “You can touch him.”
The edge of unsafe territory cuts into me at an odd angle. Is this about him? Is he really tormenting himself over something so asinine to me when it comes to him? I’d rather have him than all the physical touch in the world. The book on the nightstand feels closer to me, growing by the prospect of its significance alone. That gesture, that’s more intimate than anything Jesper and I did downstairs.
“So?” I straighten my back slightly. “It doesn’t mean anything.”
He presses his lips together. “That’s the problem--anyone can manage meaningless contact…” The silence is louder than the words that came before it. Oh. I guess I’m not the only one who gets just a little jealous in an unwarranted way. “What if you were hurt? What if you were hurt and we were alone and you needed someone to help you and I couldn’t?” He lets out a sigh, a sound too tired for me to associate with him. “You say you don’t care now, but you’ll grow tired of it--the only life I can offer.”
Inej’s words about the similarities between Kaz and I echo in my mind. “Sometimes I don’t like when things are going well because I don’t know how to be truly content, fully happy.” Saying this twists my stomach. “I don’t know how to trust good things, so whenever there are good things I think about all the ways I could ruin something and then I do.” I take a breath. “I’m not saying that things are particularly good for you or that you’re happy, but I am saying that maybe you shouldn’t think three steps ahead when there’s nothing to think ahead about.” I regard his expression carefully, but nothing has changed. “I told you the only thing I want is to know you, and that’s not going to change.”
“Y/n,” his voice is low, “I am not rain--I can’t promise you anything.”
I scratch my knee, dropping my gaze. “For once I don’t want rain.”
Kaz sighs. “Get some sleep.” Something about the way he’s speaking is authoritative but it lacks any weight. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
I frown freely, “Kaz--”
“You look tired,” he mumbles, “You need rest.” He’s using this as an excuse to escape his feelings, but he’s already given me more than I expected. Greed ruins things, but then again, so does selflessness. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“For the job?”
Something strange crosses his features as his expression teeters on shifting. “I’ll see you tomorrow,” he repeats, a little more certain.
The response doesn’t satiate me. “Kaz--”
“I may not be the rain, but I’m capable of making promises as well.” There’s something final about the way he says this, but it doesn’t feel cruel.
Maybe I’d protest if my eyelids were less weighted. “Goodnight, Kaz.”
My head falls against the pillow. I’m not sure if he replies, too lost in the drawl of sleep before he can even close the door.

Title: His Worst Nightmare
Pairings: Levi x fem! reader
Summary: You're one of the most skilled Captain of Survey Corps but during one of the expeditipn outside the walls some of your Squad's horses were killed. As a captain you wanted to save them, you knew you can survive outside the walls but your squad may not be able to because all of them are tired so you chose to be left outside the walls and you fend for yourself.
Warnings: None might appear to be a little sad though.
Word Count: 2000+
••••••
“Captain! Most of our horses were crushed by the Titans, we won't be able to meet with Commander Erwin and Captain Levi!”
Your grip on your weapon tightened as you saw the terrified look on your comrades' faces, most of them were young yet skilled but you knew this kind of scenario would really shake them up because this is dead end.
“Take the remaining horses and meet with Commander Erwin!” you shouted as you use your gear so you could slice the Titan's nape. “What the fuck are y'all looking at?! Go before the remaining horses get killed!” four of your subordinates looked at you with tears in their eyes, “We can't leave you here, Captain!” you cussed underneath your breath and swung towards an abnormal titan aimimg for the horses.
“We'll all die if you won't follow my orders. This is not a request, it is an order from your Captain, leave! Now!” You growled as you viciously charged yourself towards the Titan to kill it.
When it fell on the ground, lifeless, you immediately looked behind and a small smile made its way across your lips upon seeing your subordinates ride the remaining horses to save themselves.
You tore your eyes away from them and looked at five Titans charging themselves towards you, you only have one blade left and to say that you're exhausted is understatement, you knew that this is the day where you'll die and you'll embrace your death proudly and wholeheartedly.
Dying to save your young comrades would be the most glorious part of your career as a captain, your young comrades has so much to learn, they still have a lot to know but you've already done your part if you will die in here today your only regrets would be the fact that you can't see Levi in your last breath.
But you heard from your father who's a doctor that once a person dies, they will have flashbacks of their whole life, looking at the brighter side you'd probably see Levi on those flashbacks before you die.
“Let's finish this motherfuckers.”
°°°°°
Levi was obviously anxious as he kept on looking behind him, your squad should be here by this time, you should be tailing them now already but he still can't see you not even a sign of any of your squads.
“Levi, we should go faster.”
“She's still out there, if you want to you can go but I'll wait for her...” he whispered in his shaky voice, before it was so damn easy for him to go on because he had accepted the fact that not everyone could go back alive and he has mastered of masking his grief whenever another comrade has fallen.
But if he's gonna lose you the way he lost his comrades, he would lose his sanity, he would probably go mad once that happens.
“Squads of Captain YN approaching!”
Hope bloomed in Levi's heart as he heard the announcement of your squad's arrival but when he looked back there are only two horses with four people and you're not one of them.
He felt like his heart stopped beating when he tried looking back further but still no sign of you, he decided to shout at your subordinates. “Where is your captain?” he asked in a firm tone and none of them answered.
The teens just looked down and one by one, they broke down into tears. “We're very sorry Captain Levi.” Erwin overheard the conversation and he felt himself go numb. He doesn't want to believe it, he's not losing one of his greatest Captain, not today...
“Can you please stop fucking crying and answer me! Where the fuck is my girl?!”
“She ordered us to leave her, she faced the Titans alone, we're sorry...”
Levi immediately pulled the reins backward, halting the horse from running. “I'm going back for her.” Erwin also halted and looked at Levi as he shook his head.
“By the walls, Levi! We can't afford to lose two of our greatest Captains today. We have to move forward.”
“I'm sorry Erwin. She's the only one that I've got, losing her means I'm nothing.”
“Levi!” Erwin called out but Levi still chose to go back to the forest where you should have been.
As he get closer to the forest his heart beats faster and faster at every moment, his determination of finding you kept him going, he would never leave you, not when you're the only one that he has.
On his way towards the heart of the forest he encountered three Titans and he chose to let out his frustration in killing those three viciously.
When he arrived at the heart of the forest, he immediately looked around, there were no bloods but there's still some remaining of the titans that hasn't evaporated yet.
Which only means one thing;
You're alive.
“Brat!” he exclaimed as he saw your figure laying down on a big branch of tree while you hold your weapons close to you, eyes half closed as you breathe heavily.
You could hear his shouts, he's telling you not to go to sleep but as much as you want to do it your eyelids felt heavy, you can feel him gently slapping your cheeks in attempting of waking you but it obviously doesn't work.
“You can't close your eyes, no. Please baby, don't. We made a promise didn't we? You need to stay with me, you promised to stay with me.”
Levi kept you close in his chest as he rides his horse, he silently prayed that there would be no more titans to appear because dealing with them wouldn't be his priority, he has to make sure you'll get back safe, your head was wounded and he's not sure of how serious the injury was so he did what he could and used his shirt as a bandage to stop the bleeding.
“Lev..”
“Just hang in there, don't sleep. I'll tell you stories so don't close your eyes and hold onto me tightly huh? Can you do that for me baby?” he begged tears streaming down his cheeks, the way you called out his name sounded so weak and every time that he'll look at you, he could see your eyes closed and fear filled his heart, something he has never felt years before meeting you.
After his friends died, he made himself tough, promised not to get attached again so he wouldn't have to lose his mind over and over again whenever he lose a comrade but you came along, he wanted to blame Erwin and Hanji for introducing you to him but he actually would thank them, because he never felt this way before.
The way you made him feel at ease, every time you'll hug him he feels contented and peaceful and whenever he feels your lips on his it is his paradise and his days without you in his side is hell.
So he couldn't afford to lose you now, not today not forever.
“I—I love you, Levi. Take care of yourself for me hmm? I'm sorry if I—”
“I'm not listening so whatever you want to say, say it to me when we get back inside the walls.”
Of course, he can hear you clearly but he's not strong enough to hear you say those words he doesn't want to hear you saying that you love him as if you're saying goodbye and that's not what he wants.
“Lev, I'm tired.”
“Baby just hold on, don't leave me please. I'm begging you.”
As he bursted into tears, his mind was filled with memories of you and him together.
Flashback
“Once we eliminated all of the titans, I would open a book shop and I will read for the rest of my life.”
“Where am I in your plans, brat?” he asked his arms wrapped around you as you rested your head in his hard chest. “You would be spending your days sitting beside me while I read.” you playfully said, pressing your lips in his jaw.
Levi looked down at you with a smirk, “That's not so bad but we should open a teashop with a bookshop inside it so people can read and drink tea.” you chuckled. His love for tea is really strong and to be honest there are four of you in this relationship.
Tea, Books, you and Levi.
Well at least there's no other girls, there's just tea and his cleaning obsession, “We'll do that and I'll tell Armin, Eren, Mikasa, Jean, Connie and Sasha to stay with us. I will be making apple pies and they would love it.” you've grown fond of the teens from the 104th, probably because you've seen how they've grown, how the playful teenagers became brave soldiers ready to fight for the humanity.
And you really want this nightmare to end so those kids would have the normal life, “I didn't know we're also planning to open an orphanage now.” he said, sarcasm perfectly implied.
“Quit talking as if you don't like them.”
“If you want children we can make a lot.” he playfully dipped his head down to press his lips on yours and you hold onto his hair as you returned his kisses, when he pulled away, his grey eyes were sparkling as a small smile made its way across his lips.
“God, I’ve never met someone like you.”
“Because everyone in this world is different and there isn’t another face like mine? Duh?”
Levi stared at you, left dumbfounded of how you sassily replied to his heartwarming statement, “You're picking up my attitude, it's alarming.” he sighed pinching your nose as you slapped his hand away.
“Your fault not mine.” You glared with a pout.
End of Flashback
“You can't sleep because our brats are waiting, Mikasa, Armin, Eren, Jean, Sasha and Connie is waiting for us to be back. We'll still eliminate the titans right? We have so much plans baby, don't leave me please.”
“I'm sorry Levi.”
°°°°°°
“Captain...” Levi lazily looked back at him just to see Armin standing awkwardly as he rubbed his nape, “You should eat and go get some sleep.” Armin told him politely, the blond teen doesn't want to make the Captain mad especially he knows what Levi is going through.
“No. Leave my office now.”
“Captain, we know that it's not easy but you can't sacrifice your health.” Eren appeared bebind Armin and soon after, Mikasa, Sasha, Connie and Jean appeared, each one of them carrying different kind of food but Sasha is holding a container of water because the others forbid him in bringing the food, knowing that she might get tempted to eat it.
“Leave me alone and let me work in my office quietly loud brats. None of you knows what I feel.”
“We do. You're not the only one who's sad, we missed Captain YN too but this is beyond our control. The least we can do is to take care of you because we know that she wouldn't want you to be like this.” Mikasa said, her voice devoid of any emotions as she walked towards the Captain as she placed down a tray of food on top of his table.
“We believe that you're old enough to eat by yourself and we wouldn't have to shove that spoon on your mouth just so you could eat.” Mikasa looked at the Captain blankly and when Levi looked up at her, he narrowed his eyes.
“It's really scary how you sounded like me some times, fine, I'll eat so you brats would shut up.”
The teens' faces lit up as they watch Levi eat, he still doesn't look like his usual self because of what happened but they're all not fine but they also knew that they will be.
“Levi! Captain YN is awake.” Hanji said in between hear breaths, Levi didn't respond and left his unfinished food while the teens followed him, running so they could match his pace.
Levi opened the door of the room and he saw you sitting on the bed, the bandage was still on your head, there was a clueless look on your face when your gaze landed at him and Levi immediately ran to hug you tightly.
You let out a sound of surprise and Levi pulled away thinking that he hurt you. “I'm sorry. Did I hurt you? How are you feeling? Do you remember what happened to us? Do you want some water?” you smiled and shook your head, your gaze landed at the flower vase beside your table and Levi saw how your eyes sparkled when you saw the white Carnation.
“I recognize this flower...” you whispered in a soft voice, you reached out for the flower vase before glancing at the man next to you.
“But I don't know you. Who are you?”
The moment you said that, the teens arrived and they heard everything you said. You heard their gasps and you innocently looked up at them, “Hello kiddos, the nurse told me that I've been out for two weeks. I think I missed something, this man suddenly came in here to hug me.” Armin felt cold sweats on his forehead, he doesn't have any idea how to handle this situation especially they saw how heartbroken Levi is.
“Captain, he's your—” before Jean could even finish his sentence, Levi already cut him off, “Leave, brats. Let me talk to her alone.” you frowned at him before glancing at the kids, “Sir, you're not even suppose to be here. Why are you asking them to leave? I know them.” Eren didn't have to hear Levi's reply to you, he just dragged his friends away from that room, scared of what would happen next.
The room was filled with deafening silence after the teens left, Levi was looking down as his breathing got heavier at every minute that passes by while you were still sat on the bed still looking at him cluelessly.
“You don't have to remember me, just let me take care of you, this is better than losing you completely.” he whispered as he took the flower vase from you, placing it back to where it was. “Do you remember anything aside from the kids? Like how you got injured?” he spoke in a calmest way he could even if he's damn broken inside, the first thing he had imagine once you wake up is you hugging him, telling him that you're not leaving him just like what you've promised but here he is sitting on a chair beside your bed while you don't remember him.
When he didn't get any response from you he decided to stand up as his grey eyes got dulled again, it lost the sparks it has earlier.
“You're probably uncomfortable of having a stranger here. I'll go get the nurse.” he turned his back on you to leave but he heard your voice.
“Levi Ackerman, you'll just leave your girlfriend like this then?”
It only took him three seconds to return to where he was, his arms immediately wrapped around yours as he sobbed on the crook of your neck. “I was at the end of my wits, the whole world can forget about me but not you. Don't pull that shit again.” he scolded, you wanted to chuckle or laugh but you couldn't because you heard his sobs, he's like a child as he hug you tightly as if scared that you'll suddenly disappear.
You slowly pushed him away and wiped away his tears as you comb his hair, brushing off some strands of his hair that's hiding his eyes from you. “Sorry, it was a joke and it's obviously not funny.” Levi sighed as he closed his eyes before a low chuckle escaped from his lips, “I can't believe you even picked up my terrible sense of humour.” he whispered weakly as he pulled you close for another hug. For two hellish weeks he drowned himself in paperworks and in between those times he'll be looking after you while you sleep and it drained him a lot.
“You lost weight.” you stated. You memorized every inch of Levi's body and 2 weeks of being unconscious wouldn't change that fact, you knew that he lost weight, those dark circles around his eyes also suggests the fact that he didn't have lots of sleep.
“You scared me.”
“Where was the guy who told me once that he has nothing to be afraid of 'cause he got nothing to lose?” you brows raised and Levi rolled his eyes before leaning in to kiss you quickly.
“Brat, I have nothing to lose.” He touched your head, his grey eyes looking down on yours as a genuine smile made its way across his lips. “Or at least once had nothing to lose.” he whispered before cupping your face for another kiss, much longer than the first ones, it was also slower as if he's still trying to make sure that everything is real, he's still trying to make sure that his worst nighmare wouldn't happen.
His nightmare where he lost you.

SR Lilia Vanrouge Suitor Suit Personal Story: Part 2
"It would fit me perfectly"
(Part 1) Part 2
Tumblr media
[Exterior Hallway]
―A few hours after the school was purged of the ghosts
Sebek: Lilia-sama, My deepest apologies for making you wait!
Sebek: I have safely removed the “wedding ceremony” decorations from the cafeteria, and have returned it to its normal state.
Lilia: Thanks for your hard work, Sebek.
Lilia: …Hm? Is that Kalim and Jamil, as well as Silver heading our way?
Lilia: And the one behind them is…
Malleus: Lilia. Sebek. It seems like all the troubles have been cleared up.
Lilia: Malleus. Why are you all together?
Jamil: That is… We heard from the other dorm students that “Operation Propose” was a struggle until the very end.
Jamil: So Kalim said “I’m going to go make sure everyone is alright!” and suddenly started running off.
Kalim: I was relived that no one seemed to be hurt!
Silver: We came to pick up Lilia-senpai and Sebek. Malleus-sama suggested it since “They’re probably tired.”
Malleus: Well, partly it’s because you two went to deal with the bride in my place. I’m thankful for your sacrifice.
Sebek: Oh… Ooooh! What kind words!!!
Kalim: ―Ah, that reminds me, just a little bit ago, we ran into Rook and them.
Kalim: They were wearing some super cool tuxedos. Did Lilia and Sebek also wear such outfits?
Lilia: Unfortunately not. Only Rook and the others who came in the third group got to wear the groom outfits.
Kalim: Aw, is that what it was. I wanted to see the two of you in tuxedos too.
Sebek: Don’t worry about me. However I agree with your opinion that Lilia should get to have a beautiful outfit, human!
Lilia: Hm, when you say it like that, it does feel a little regrettable…
Lilia: It’s a shame that I wasn’t able to show you all my special, elegant and cute groom attire.
Silver: …It’s hard for me to imagine Lilia-senpai wearing a tuxedo.
Lilia: Kufufu. I bet it would fit me perfectly.
Malleus: If that’s the case, you should change into one now. If it’s just clothes, I can tailor it with magic.
Sebek, Kalim, Silver: Eh!
Lilia: What’s this all of a sudden, Malleus. Do you want to see me dressed as a groom that much!?
Malleus: That’s not why.
Malleus: Lilia seemed to look quite interested, so I thought it would be my thanks for today.
Kalim: You can make clothes with magic, huh. Malleus is pretty awesome after all!
Malleus: It will disappear after some time, since it is just a fabrication.
Lilia: I’m still elated. Especially if you say this is your gratitude, I’ll thankfully receive your gift.
Malleus: Of course. However, before it can be made, it is necessary to create a solid image of it.
Malleus: First, let’s determine the overall color.
Sebek: Malleus-sama!! What do you think of navy blue?
Sebek: Lilia-sama is a creature of the night, so a color akin to the night sky would probably suit him!
Kalim: Hmm, navy blue is good too, but… Isn’t it a little dark? If he’s going to do it anyway, let’s be flashy!
Kalim: How about red to match Lilia’s eyes?
Sebek: What did you say!? What do you even know of Lilia-sama!!!!
Silver: I agree. It’s certainly true that Lilia’s eyes are striking. I believe that red would suit him well.
Sebek: Absolutely not, I vote for navy blue!
Silver: It’s red.
Sebek: Navy blue!!
Silver: Red.
Kalim: I didn’t want the two of you to start fighting…!
Lilia: Everyone is so frantic for my sake. You’re such straightforward and adorable folk!
Lilia: You’ve been silently off to the side since we started, Jamil what do you think?
Jamil: That’s difficult… I feel as though Lilia-senpai could pull off any color.
Jamil: (How did this happen? It doesn’t matter what color the suit is, I just want to hurry and return home to the dorm.)
Malleus: … We’ll make no progress like this. Lilia, what color do you wish?
Lilia: Let’s see~ Right now I feel like…
Lilia: It’s gotta be green!
Malleus: Fufu… Green, I see. It’s the color of the flames of the Witch of Thorns. Not bad. Then, with that it’s settled.
Jamil: Wasn’t he going to pick between navy blue or red…
Kalim: Well, the most important thing is that Lilia gets to wear the color he likes.
Kalim: Ah! By the way, there’s an accessory in the Scarabia storage room that would probably suit Lilia.
Kalim: I’ll go quickly grab it!
Jamil: H-hey, Kalim! Wait!
Lilia: …An accessory that suits me. I wonder what kind of item it is.
Malleus: Let’s finish off the details of the design until Asim returns…
Tumblr media
Kalim: HEE~EEY!
Lilia: Oh, Kalim and Jamil. You’ve returned.
Kalim: Sorry to keep you waiting, Lilia! Please take this!
Lilia: Oh… It’s an Albert chain that is modeled after a bat. That’s perfect for me.
Malleus: It’s a shiny and eye-catching item. It will be able to coordinate the whole outfit together as the main attraction.
Malleus: To match that accessory, it’ll be essential to have the buttons and ribbon-tie be flashy as well.
Malleus: …Alright, I have the image finished. Lilia, are you ready?
Lilia: Yep!
Tumblr media
Lilia: Woah!
Kalim: Wow~~~! Lilia’s clothes are changing right before our eyes!
Lilia: Yes, what wonderful magic! Malleus, you’ve increased your abilities a lot.
Malleus: Good grief… You’re never going to fix that habit of treating me as a child.
Malleus: … Alright, that should be about it.
Lilia: Well? Am I more charming than usual?
Sebek: IT… IT’S… IT’S WONDERFUL, LILIA-SAMA~~~~~~!!!!
Silver: Agreed…! It doesn’t seem like the usual Fath… Lilia-senpai at all.
Silver: The flowers on the collar, the gold embroidery… as well as you who are wearing it, I think… that it looks very stylish on you.
Lilia: You put in all your effort to praise me, even though you’re not good at expressing yourself. I’m very happy for that.
Kalim: You really look like a prince out of a fairy tale! It looks amazing, Lilia!
Lilia: Kufufu! And what else?
Malleus: It was the correct choice to choose a deep green color. You can really feel the calm, adult-like personality.
Lilia: Kufufufufufufu! I see, I see!
Lilia: I’ll spin once around, so you all should enjoy my princely style from the back and the side.
[twirls!]
Jamil: Aaa…!! Lilia-senpai! It’ll be better if you don’t make too much intense movements.
Lilia: Hm? Why’s that?
Jamil: That Albert chain Kalim handed you… It’s an antique worth at least 10 million Madol.
Sebek, Silver: Wha-!?
Lilia: Is that right~ My, my, it seems I was lent a pretty expensive item.
Jamil: Yes. Please stop poking it with your finger and swinging it so casually!
Lilia: ―Now, that’s enough. You can release your magic, Malleus.
Kalim: Eh! Even though it suits you so well, you’re already going to change!?
Lilia: Yes. This was more than enough.
Lilia: …I do not know when there will be such an opportunity again. Everyone, burn my beautiful look into your eyes!

GF - We’re Coming Back Home
A Drifting Stars AU one-shot, the last one I plan to do, in collaboration with @clownwry.
1st, 2nd, 3rd.
~~~~~~~~~~
Somehow, miraculously, through all of Ford’s traveling, through countless dimensions, his Quantum Destabilizer remained on his back and fully intact.
Okay, well, mostly intact. Partially intact.
When he was finally ready to attack Bill and put an end to his reign of terror, his plans had been put on hold when a crack in space-time opened. He didn’t dare hope that it was a way home, but maybe if he aimed correctly, the shot would not only kill Bill, but fly him home. But no, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a young girl fly out of the hole, and with reflexes he developed over thirty years of staying alive in the worst circumstances, he hooked his Quantum Destabilizer onto his back, caught the girl, and swam through the gravity-less air for safety, hiding behind an asteroid, putting a hand over the girl’s mouth and hissing for her silence, swearing she would be okay, and they barely made it out as Bill’s words echoed through the Nightmare Realm.
“Sixer’s caught a Shooting Star, boys!”
Ford had no idea what that was supposed to mean at the time, but now a month later, he thinks he finally understood. His niece, Shermie’s granddaughter, Mabel, loved stars, and was very much like one herself. Always shining. Always so bright and full of hope. Many times in history, and even today in other dimensions, runaway slaves used the stars as maps to guide them to a better place. Ford often wondered if Mabel was his star, maybe not guiding him physically to a safe haven, but guiding him to a happier mindset. Guiding him to a life that isn’t completely isolated. Guiding him to a life that included love.
The last few weeks have been challenging, sure, but not that much more challenging than traveling alone; Mabel was a fast learner, and while she refused to use a knife or gun (“Cuz those hurt, Grunkle Ford!”), she was perfectly comfortable with pop-rocks and making foes lose their footing and fall down so they couldn’t attack. And she was very good at hunting for food and water and other reliable resources.
In fact, Ford would easily say the last few weeks have been the happiest of his life. Maybe only tying with when Fiddleford joined him in Gravity Falls, before work on the portal became dangerous, but after he realized that maybe the woods had been too quiet the last six years.
After just a day and a half, Ford was fully-aware of his attachment to his niece and how much it would ruin him if he lost her. Mabel was everything a good person strives to be: kind, sweet, a pleasure to be around, but not a pushover, either; Mabel Pines knew how to stand her ground.
And so the last month was littered with so many happy memories. Ford was a little hurt when she “borrowed” two broken fishing poles and fixed them up so they could fish, but he very quickly enjoyed sitting on a log by a river and fishing with Mabel. Ford found it brought her much comfort to brush her hair, and he also discovered he enjoyed a calm brush himself. Ford found he didn’t mind the extra weight of his niece on his shoulders; quite the contrary, he found it comforting, and he was always swallowed with peace when she was so relaxed with him that she fell asleep, using his fluffy gray hair as a pillow.
No longer was Ford met with suspicious looks when he walked down the street of a market alone, face hidden. Quite the opposite. He was always met with smiles and warm greetings, and sometimes a little extra food was thrown into a purchase for free. Be it because people saw him as a parent with an adorable child, or because of Mabel’s charm. Or both.
The dimensions they came across were random and different, just like it was when Ford traveled alone. Some dimensions were like an alien sci-fi movie, completely different with no humans. Some dimensions were scaringly like home, with a small difference here and there. Ironically, the alien-like dimensions were typically safer, because they were used to travelers and weird-looking creatures.
But Ford guessed it would be okay if he and Mabel stepped into a normal grocery store to buy some food.
They had come across a “normal” dimension, and while Ford’s first thought was to retreat for the woods, he heard Mabel’s stomach growl, and he decided her health was more important. So they stepped in and kept to themselves.
Ford and Mabel were picking up crackers when the little girl grinned at rows of cereals behind them. “Grunkle Ford, can I please pick a cereal?” She asked politely.
The old scientist thought about it for a moment. Cereal would definitely cover a few meals and be light and easy to carry, and it wouldn’t get hold too quickly, and he had wanted to get her at least one nice thing while in the store, so he nodded and said, “Yes, dear, you may pick one box. Any flavor you want.”
“Thank you!” And Mabel took the time to hug him before skipping over to the cereals to look.
Ford chuckled and picked some crackers, then decided to browse the fruit snacks, debating if it would be wise. Probably not, because if they get stuck in another desert climate the gummies could melt and make a mess, but they could make a good snack for Mabel. He held his chin, debating the idea, while a couple was also looking over the cereals.
“Which do you think Dad would want?” The yellow-haired woman asked.
“Honey, who cares what Rick wants? Just get a cereal you’ll like.” The husband said with an eye roll.
Ford froze at that name. No no, that was most definitely a different Rick. It was a common enough name, and there were billions of dimensions. There was no way Ford and Mabel somehow managed to stumble into C-137. He ultimately decided against gummies and he then looked at the trail mixes and granola bars. Both were always a good option.
“I know, but I want him to feel welcome, you know?” The wife said as she picked a box. “He’s been travelling in space alone for years…”
Oh no. No, no, no. Ford quickly chose some packets of trail mix and several granola bars and hurried back to his niece. He was not going to do this today. Nope.
Mabel grinned at him, a box of cereal in hand, and she held it out to him. “Look, Grunkle Ford, do you like this flavor? I can pick a different one if you want.”
“Oh, thank you, my dear, but I like the one you picked.” Ford did a decent job masking his uneasiness and he took her hand and smiled. “Why don’t we pick up some fruit for today, and then we’ll go fishing for dinner?”
“Yay! Sounds great!”
Ford didn’t miss the yellow-haired woman smiling at them as they left the aisle. If that was who he thought it was… She really didn’t look anything like him. She might have just favored her mother. Who else would have spent years traveling space? Bastard.
Ford may have hated him for many reasons, but choosing to abandon his girls was at the top of the list.
At the checkout line, Ford nervously watched the total of their purchase go up with each beep. He recounted their cash and made a small list of items in his mind for them to go down if they couldn’t afford everything. A few granola bars can go. And, maybe they could find band-aids elsewhere and “borrow” them.
The worker rang up the last item and Ford smiled when he saw the total was 29.89. He had thirty. But then the worker pressed the total button and taxes were added. Shit, right. That made their total 35.45. Ford winced. Mabel looked up at him worriedly, but she smiled and stood on her tippy-toes to see the worker better.
“Hi, I’m Mabel! Can you please put the cereal back? We don’t really need it.”
Ford looked down at her, surprised and also a little disheartened. He had really wanted to get her at least one nice thing, but truth be told the cereal was the most expensive item, so it made sense to get rid of it first. Still, it sucked.
“Total’s now 32.14.”
Ford bit his lip. “Very well, may we please put the band-aids back, too?”
The worker nodded, seeming tired and annoyed, but they didn’t say a word. Blissfully, the total went down to 29.99.
With hands full of bags, Mabel and Ford paused at the beginning of the parking lot to move their groceries into their backpacks. While they worked, the old scientist said, “I’m sorry I could afford your cereal, Mabel.”
“Oh, it’s okay!” The girl said instantly. “I’ve got something even sweeter.” And she grinned at her grunkle and gave him a warm smile.
Ford smiled back at her tiredly. “I don’t deserve you.”
“Yes you do.” Mabel insisted and hugged him around the neck, nuzzling her face into his shoulder and determined to sink as much comfort as she could into his skin. “I love you Grunkle Ford. Please don’t beat yourself up, m’k?”
Ford hugged her back and petted her short brown hair. It was certainly easier to feel better with a ball of sunshine in his arms.
They both heard rustling behind them as a buggy rolled from the door to the parking lot. They both looked behind Mabel and saw a bag with the cereal and the band-aids in it. They looked around and saw no one, except for the yellow-haired woman and her husband going to their car.
Mabel grinned and hollered to them, “Thank you!”
They didn’t respond, but the woman did smile and wave before putting groceries into her car. As appreciated as Ford was for her kindness, he wanted to get as far away from her as possible. No offense to her. She seemed like a very lovely lady.
But then it hit Ford like a pile of rocks. What was it he had said before he had pulled out his gun and left Ford to travel alone? “And hey, if you ever wanna travel without customs or waiting for wormholes to open, don’t come looking for me.” And then he winked and fell backwards into a pool of green, leaving Ford to curse his name.
If this was like before, when Ford was alone, he wouldn’t dare. But if he could help get Mabel home…
Ford took Mabel’s hand and muttered, “Come with me.” And she followed without question.
Beth felt good helping the old man and the little girl, and she didn’t expect anything more. Really, it was only five dollars worth of stuff. But she was happy when they started to walk towards her, so she trusted Jerry to finish loading up the car and she smiled at them.
“Excuse me, miss, I just want to thank you for what you did.” The old man said.
“Oh, you’re welcome, it was no trouble at all.”
“I… I hope I’m not being too invasive, but… but I believe you know someone I know.”
Beth smiled. Small world! “Really? That’s great! Oh, are you a relative of Dave’s? Or, you know, I do know a lot of people indirectly from the horse-track.”
“Er, no.” The old man gave her a more serious look, and then asked quietly, “Do you know Rick Sanchez?”
~~~~~~~~~~
Beth was so excited to give Stanford Pines and his niece, Mabel, a ride, and to invite them to dinner, not only because she thought seeing an old friend might make her dad smile, but maybe she’ll learn more about what he’s been up to all these years. The man was very polite and the girl was as sweet as can be, both of whom looked rough and in need of a cozy bed and maybe a soothing bath. Jerry was a little unsure, not wanting “more Ricks” into his house, but after a huf from the girl and a cheerful greeting, Jerry couldn’t help but tell the girl she was more than welcome, so now he was roped in.
Mabel noticed that her uncle looked distracted. He was looking out his window, but his eyes were elsewhere. He was thinking. So she decided to try to help him with his thoughts. “Grunkle Ford, who’s Rick Sanchez?” She asked quietly.
Ford looked at her, sighed quietly, and muttered, “He’s an intergalactic scientist. He’s ridiculously intelligent and clever, and… a bit…” Ford pursed his lips. All the words that came to mind he didn’t want Mabel hearing, so he settled on. “... mad.”
“Oh. Is he like a real mad-scientist?” Mabel asked, eyes sparkling with interest.
“Yes, but with less laughter, more slurs and sluggish demeanor, and even less consideration of other living things.”
Mabel noticed his cold tone and grew concerned. “You don’t like him, do you?”
Ford bit his lip. No, he didn’t. But there was a more important reason why he didn’t want to see Rick today.
Mabel leaned in closer and whispered, “Is he mean?”
Trust Mabel to sum it up perfectly for her uncle. “Yes.” Ford said just as quietly. “And I don’t want him meeting you.”
“Why?”
Ford hesitated. But being blunt and honest seemed to be working, and it was best for Mabel to prepare herself for the lion’s den they were walking into. “I don’t want him to hurt your feelings.” a bit elementary, but it was the best way to explain it to a child without scaring her too much.
Mabel, however, grinned. “Grunkle Ford, no one can resist the Power of Mabel.”
Ford smiled and ruffled her hair softly. “We’ll see…”
“So, if you don’t like Mr. Sanchez, then why are we going to go see him?”
“He’s an expert on interdimensional-travel.” Ford informed her. “He might know how to get us home.”
Mabel’s eyes widened and she “oh”ed as she realized what was going on.
~~~~~~~~~~
The garage door was open to let in good lighting and fresh air. But that wasn’t an invitation to come in whenever people feel like it; Rick will have to work on a security system to keep nosy neighbors away. He was opening a box and getting organized when he heard his daughter’s car roll into the driveway. He didn’t bother to look up, instead waited for the sounds of car doors opening to say something.
“Hey sweetie, welcome back.”
“Dad,” Beth said, sounding giddy. Rick hated giddy. But he had only been here for a week and he didn’t feel like making his daughter hate him just yet, so he settled for rolling his eyes and continuing what he was doing. “I have a surprise for you!”
“Wow! You have a nice house! Cool garage, too!” A young voice said.
Rick was halted. He turned in his chair and raised an eyebrow to find a young girl with short brown hair and braces holding hands with an old nerd with fluffy charcoal hair, glasses, and six fingers.
“Oh my God!” Rick laughed. “Holy-...” A dark look from the old traveler made Rick stop; he can piss him off later. First he needs to figure out why the hell he is here and what the hell he wants. “Jeez, you look terrible, Fordsie.” The mad scientist snorted as he leaned against his desk with his hands in his pockets.
Ford rolled his eyes and said, “And you still look like a soft breeze will blow you away, Sanchez.”
Mabel bit her lip and quietly, “Oooooh”ed, like she was listening to a rap battle.
“So,” Beth stretched, clearly hoping for more information or a more satisfying reunion, but she wasn’t getting it naturally, so she decided to push a little. “How do you two know each other?”
“The Multiverse is a pretty big place, sweetie.” Rick answered. “Don’t worry, I’ll have this nerd gone before you finish unloading the car. Don’t want to risk another mass genocide.” He sneered.
Ford’s face turned red and he yelled, “I didn’t know it was a planet! It looked too similar to a sandwich for it to be a planet!”
Rick laughed and looked at the little girl. She looked maybe a little younger than Morty. “Who’s that you got with you?”
Ford closed his eyes, debating if he should tell Rick it wasn’t any of his business, or get the introduction over with. But before he could make a decision, Mabel beat him to the punch.
She let go of Rick’s hand, hopped to him, and looked up at his bean-pole stature and smiled and waved. “Hi! I’m Mabel! You’re a scientist, too? Cool! I like your hair! How old are you? Have you ever met a dinosaur? What’s your favorite food?”
Rick blinked like a startled lizard at the girl, glanced up at Ford, and then looked back down at Mabel. Rick smiled and sat in his chair to be closer to her level, and held out a hand to shake, which she happily accepted and shook a little rough. “Hey there, I’m Rick. Yes, I’m a scientist. Thank you, I like your hair, too. Yes, I’ve met a dinosaur, several in different dimensions. And, pancakes.”
Mabel’s eyes sparkled. “I love pancakes, too! Maybe we can make some together!”
“Maybe, but I’ve got the feeling that’s not why you’re here.” Rick suggested kindly. And no, Ford wasn’t at all suspicious that he was being kind to Mabel.
“Oh! Yeah! Grunkle Ford thinks you can help us get home.”
“Huh. You’re great-uncle, huh? Sure, okay, let’s get started.” Rick rolled over to a cabinet and took out an odd machine. It came with a tiny needle and was attached to the machine by a small black wire, and the boxed machine had a screen of some sort on the side. “Mind if I prick your finger?”
“Sure!” Mabel held out her finger to him and Rick carefully held her wrist and pricked her finger, so small she hardly noticed it. “What for?”
“I need a blood sample to find your home dimension. Gotta send you to the right dimension.” Rick explained. “Fordsie, lemme get yours, too. How’d you two find each other, anyways?”
“I was in the Nightmare Realm when some idiot opened a portal and this little starshine fell into my arms.” Ford explained, stepping forward and giving Rick his finger.
“Okay, got it.” Rick said. “Well, there’s a possibility that you two come from different dimensions. Nothing too different about your homes, but there’s millions of dimensions. The probability that you two came from the same timeline and reality… there we go. It’s a match. That makes things easier.”
The small heart attack Ford was having went away. The idea of his starshine not being his was a nightmare. His life was complicated enough; he didn’t need his girl to not actually be his.
“Dimension 41’\. Huh, okay, gimme two seconds…” Rick pulled out his trusty portal gun and plugged it into the machine. A long list of dimensions popped up, and Ford prayed 41’\ would be on the list. “You two are lucky. I can go as far as 42’\, but the other 40s are out of range. Huh, i’ll have to work on that.”
“So,” Mabel grinned. “You can get us home?”
Rick smiled smugly and shrugged as he stood. “Yeah, sure.”
“Grunkle Ford!” Mabel cheered and hurled herself into his arms. “I can’t believe it! I’m gonna see Dipper again! I can’t wait for you to meet him!”
Ford smiled softly. He couldn’t believe it. It was all happening so fast and effortlessly. He was going to get Mabel home. They were both going home. Suddenly the idea of seeing Stanley again, meeting his grandnephew and all of Mabel’s friends and her pet pig sounded… a lot. He didn’t realize it, but he was becoming anxious and spacing out. But Mabel noticed, and she kissed his stubbly cheek and brought him back to reality.
Rick shot at the wall with his gun and an oozing green portal appeared. “There we go, 41’\. Wait, sh-oot, gimme a location.”
“618 Gopher Road.” Ford stated as he let go of Mabel. “Gravity Falls, Oregon. USA.”
“Got it.” Rick made the last portal disappear and shot a new one. “There. Now get-... Go on home.”
Mabel stepped up to Rick and said sincerely, “Mr. Sanchez, thank you for helping us.” And she hugged him around his tall skinny legs.
Rick pursed his lips awkwardly, unsure of how to respond to such positive energy and kindness. The old scientists looked at each other, Ford giving Rick a warning look, but something hidden in his face or eyes told the drunk that the nomad was actually grateful for his illegal device.
“Uh…” Rick settled on patting Mabel’s head and said, “Y-Y-You’re welcome.”
Mabel let go of Rick and held out a hand to Ford. “Ready?”
“Nope.” Ford took her hand and squeezed it. “Let’s do this.”
And without another word, the Pines walked through the green portal.
