I just wanted to give my special thanks to everyone who as followed me. Thanks to all of your encouragement, I got better at drawing. There may be only a dozen or so of you listening and reading this, but for me, it's a dozen more than what I would've thought.
Special thanks to:
@paperanimater my first subscriber, here since the beginning
@authorjones for liking almost all my posts
And of course, I could not forget @mylifeisruined69420 you are the first one who gave me so much encouragement, who seemed almost as passionate as I was for my work. I promise to you that even if only for you, I WILL make this game. Just so you can have it.
A year or so ago I was doing this:
And now, thanks to all of you, I am here:

I still have a long way to go, and I hope that all of you will be there with me. Even if there are only three of you, two of you, or only one of you who cares about what I do, I will still do it. Because, despite what social media has told us, making a singular person smile is enough of a reason to keep going.
To all beginner artists out there, even the greatest artist started with stick figures. To all beginner programmers, every good programmer once got blocked for hours by the stupidest error.
If anyone wants to ask questions about me personally, my game, my characters, or anything else, I am glad to answer. If any of you are going through a bad time and need to talk, my dm's are open. If any of you are alone on your birthday, I'll wish you a happy birthday. If you just want to talk or need a friend, I can do that too.
Remember, whatever your situation is.
"Someone always cares, you must simply seek them out"-Zenyatta

Devlog #1 (officially)!
I tasked myself today with making a funny shape in blender and making a plane in Godot, and I’m proud to say I did slightly more than that! Also, right now, blender is hard, but compared to Godot it’s like a walk in the park. Godot scares me like nothing else has.

(Video ID: A video showcasing a script for a player model on Godot. I open a debug tab to test the game, which is just a capsule on a plane in space. I also wave my camera around to show how I can do somersaults with it, and then promptly fall of the edge of the plane, ending the video. End ID)
Don’t expect a whole lot of progress this month or for many months because I am so damn new and confused. But hey, feel free to give suggestions or help if you know Godot! Also, I think I’ll probably be changing the name again, but I’m gonna think on it for a few days.

Give us your best and worst feelings while experiencing being a game dev
okay!
some of the best feelings: working with my new teammate person (the one i mentioned was teaching me a while back! now we're a proper dev team!) and talking about and planning idaes with him
when something finally works
solving a probelm i couldnt figure out a few days ago
when its finally done
watching your characters come to life
COMMENTS HWEN SOMEONE COMMENTS :D ive only gotten one comment on my itch.io games so far but IT MADE ME SO HAPPY and i keep going back to look at it when i need motivation-
playing through with my friends over vc and us making up funny bits and doing voices while we're at it! We had one playthrough where the main character was named paperwork and all their diologue was just paperwork, by the time it was done i was struggling not to say paperwork in the middle of random conversations and frankly it was hilarious
when your friends like your game : ' )
that relatable feeling of playing a game or recalling an odd choice a game developer made in a game you loved once and being like oh I get it now. iiiiiget it now (*glances at pokemon in solemn understanding* i see why you didint do that now. I get it.
the loving feeling of you and your fellow programmer workign on a script and you putting your cursor next to theirs (it feels like a hug <3, its like, programmer cuddles, i am 99% that just an us thing) the utter TRIUMPH of getting something fully functional
when one of your friends decides to latch onto a specific character and loves them and its like YES PLEASE LOVE MY SON I WORKED HARD ON HIM HES A GIFT TO YOU YIPPIEEE
WHEN YOU TRY TO FIX A GLITCH AND THE GAME BOOTS UP PROPERLY AND NOTHINGS WRONG :D
the worst feelings:
when something you worked really hard on doesnt get much attention
when you cant solve a weirdly specific problem (*Shakes fist at color wheels*) and you know its objectively making your game MUCH worse and harder on the player, but you just cant find the information you need to solve it
when youve tried to fix the same bug 10 times and the error log isint changing
thinking you got all the bugs only to find out your newest update is a buggy disaster and one of your characters has decided to become a nudist and preform mitosis which was NOT your goal whatsoever because your naming conventions were flawed
when you have too many files and its just overwhelming-
messing up ONE letter or the indentation on something
problems that take 3 days or more to figure out solutions to
and as the artist and one of the two main programmers: character creation. i understand now why its not more common in video games. this is hard. I definitely intend to do it but golly
trying to balance stats and things
when the game crashes while youre bugfixing-
trying to figure out what strange seemingly alien language your fellow programmer is using to get amazing results because you have to understand how it works so you can actually use the amazing system they made but if you COULD understand it very easily already you would have made it yourself so youre just crawling through it trying to reverse engineer it so you can avoid breaking what they made and add onto it lol

UPDATE: Currently being flayed alive by ren'py.
Other than that, the game is coming along nicely.
All but Evil Artemis's sprites are done and to my liking. I did have EV finished, but I don't think I've figured out his face yet. And his face is important.
Coding is 70% done, with an inventory bug being the reason for the flaying.
I'm almost at a point to bring in artists for backgrounds/CGs/etc.
Thank you all for your patience!

if you ever feel unhappy with something you've made, whether it be a fic, a drawing, a song, a video, or anything
just remember that, as long as you took the time to make it and put it out there
it was worth it
it could be seen by 10 people or 10 thousand people
the only thing that matters is you made the thing you wanted to make
it doesn't have to be perfect or better than others or even very good to begin with
the more creative endevors that are put into the world, the better
it's good that you made it

June 6th, 2025 (Late Post) / June 7th, 2025
Sorry, this time I didnt post in time simply out of being tired. Lately when I work on the game I end up sleeping the second I get home, and yesterday had some extra stuff going on so I was extra tired.
Anyways I have good news! Checkpoint system and rings appear to be functional! The player loses rings and dies when touching an enemy with 0 rings, respawning at the checkpoint. Granted I say appear because I applied the simplest use of them and tested that way, so later I might have to fix some bugs related to it. I know I need to tinker more on the homing attack, it's not working properly since adding this type of hit detection. It's really tough to activate and feels like it only works when it wants...
If I get everything working, I think my next move will be adding something I won't spoil >:3 But alas that's for next week. In the meantime I've been working on this beta model for Heat. Why beta? Because it's literally my first time fully modeling, mapping, texturing, rigging, weight painting and animating in 3d. So she looks... quirky. Here's a little test animation I did of her walking shimmying
She looks so bad it's hilarious 😭 oh well it's what I'll have to make due with during these early development stages. I hope that by the time I start the actual levels I have a better model, probably made by my own hands again.
I'll try to come up with more promotional artwork this weekend, hopefully some more animations of her too. But for that I need to model Type H, which I think might end up better than she did. After all it's a friggin board.

Have been a bit busy with university so I have not posted in a while.
Now I am behind schedule on almost all of my projects -_-
In any case I finished writing the outlines for both my interactive fiction games, managed to make a new version of my idle game and am remaking one of my older fnaf fan games.
Cycling between projects when I loose motivation seems to be doing the trick in keeping me from procrastinating too much.
At least for now. . .
Prob gonna post more stuff soon ^_^

I'm learning how to draw again. I quit for years, but now I'm back. Also, key word is 'Learning'! I Heavily referenced the concept art for Dev on the character designers Twitter, but I'm happy that this lil dude doesn't make me viscerally upset, like my other drawings. I'm very nit picky. I haven't "line-arted" it yet with ink so it's wobbly rn, but I'm already hyped 😁 Also! I really liked this show. Hazel is so cute, and Dev is my newest Blorbo. 🩷💚💜

The vertical capsules for my upcoming Visual Novel, 'Hindsight'.
I wasn't too certain about how I wanted it to turn out, as I felt it wasn't very in line with the previous, horizontal capsules, which all spoke to the horror aspects of the game. However, Hindsight is very much character driven, so I don't regret featuring Penny and Ethan, rather than focusing on the stalker and his looming presence, which I already did with my two horizontal variations.
Here's the horizontal capsules, for reference:
They definitely have different vibes, but what I like about all of them is the focus on Penny's character, as well as my deliberate exclusion of eyes in all of the capsules.
This is how Penny and Ethan appear in-game:
As you can probably tell, I'm still working on faces! ... and hair ... and bodies ... and backgrounds ... and most other art related things ...
If you've read this far, why not drop a follow and keep up with the process of 'Hindsight"? The Steam page will be going live very soon, and I can't wait to show you guys what I've created!
