I hate the "as a girl whose grandmother was a slave, can I just say not cool?" line from hazel in moa it's the worst line of dialogue rick has written in his life. But like what the fuck. what kind of insane lore drop is that. hazel's grandmother was an enslaved woman. marie levesque cast a spell to meet the god of riches so that she could finally know what it was like to live beyond the indigence and suffering of her mother. marie wanted to be a queen, not a slave like her predecessors. she wanted pluto to give her all the riches beneath the earth

and then the earth enslaved her body. gaea possessed her and through gaea's influence marie forced hazel for six months to overexert herself to the point of collapsing to raise and reanimate alcyoneus. gaea worked hazel like a slave

it's so explicit here. this is SLAVERY. gaea was using hazel's forced labor for material wealth and power. she was only 13. her grandmother was used and her mother was used and hazel herself was used, they were black women exploited for what their bodies could provide in service to the hideous intentions of monsters in power over them. hazel broke free from the cycle and saved the world all by herself by choosing death - it was the only way out

and even in her second chance at life she's actively fighting to die again. she's an instrument of the gods being used to achieve an end that is supposed to kill her. she was convinced that freeing thanatos would result in him taking her life. she didn't know throughout hoo if her father would kill her when the main quest succeeded. even nico didn't think hazel was going to live. she didn't WANT to die a second time. but she fought for the world and for her friends anyway

by the end of marie's life she was only skin and bones. gaea used her body until she didn't need it anymore. marie was the daughter of an enslaved woman who dreamed of being a queen and instead the earth goddess robbed of her life and dignity. and her soul would have been tortured further in the fields of punishment if not for hazel's unfathomable selflessness and bravery to negotiate for mutual asphodel. hazel never even saw marie again after that. what was it that doomed the levesque family? that marie asked the god of death and riches for too much? she deserved even more than what she asked for. I'm fucking sick no one talk to me
#marie wasn't good mother but she was NOT greedy#son is just a top 3 book in the series and it's because of hazel and marie's story. this is the most tragic and devastating thing I've#read in the pjo franchise. god........... the levesque family lore goes crazy. I can't even take this much angst I'm too soft for this#pjo parents are so rarely nuanced in the text. there's so often a firm binary of good and bad. especially with the mothers#but marie is so different. she's so nuanced. the text does acknowledge that she loved hazel but she was still flawed. and she abused her#anyway but marie was abused too. she was bitter over her fate and took it out on hazel#and she couldn't get past that feeling until the end of her life. and hazel is so unselfish in the present because she knows what#bitterness and “greed” can do to a person. I'm always thinking about those two.........#rr crit#hazel levesque#marie levesque#nico di angelo#pjo hoo toa#heroes of olympus#hazelposting#pjo character analysis#riordanverse

Okay so I watched the Barbie movie today and just WOW! There is so much to unpack, every choice felt intentional and it was just altogether wonderful. But one thing I wanted to touch on was Allan and how I think he represented growing up queer, especially for trans & non-binary youth.
Allan was always out of place and uncomfortable in every scene he was in, he didn’t fit in with the Kens or the Barbies, he was just Allan. Allan was the only Allan that existed, he even questions why he’s the only one in his opening scene. Another thing I noticed is that they paralleled a lot of Kens pining for Barbie back onto Allan with his longing glances and attempts to get Kens attention. He also doesn’t fit when the Kens create their whole “Kendom” patriarchy. Even though he should be benefiting from it, he’s not, because even though he’s not Barbie, he’s also not Ken.

i just KNOW that if sevika was a man, people would be shipping sevilco like crazy, making analysis of even tiniest bits of interactions, screaming "HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE ANYTHING BETWEEN THEM???"
#basically what people do with jаyvik ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#but it's so telling that people are afraid of getting out of these stereotypical boxes#it's so stupid that so many see characters looking a “certain way” that “totally shows their sexuality”#somehow people are especially afraid of characters like sevika being bi/pan.#i'm so tired of gender non-conforming characters being treated like this.#as a non-binary person it's even funnier and even more hysterically disgusting to see.#if you're gonna read any of my stories you will never fucking guess who is what and what's not unless you can think outside of this damn bo#hey‚ arcane twt? fuck you honestly. because most of stupidity regarding this issue is coming from you fuckers.#sevilco#i guess?#yes this post was also created because i've been thinking about @lullabyes22-blog and their analysis

THE PRONOUNS ESSAY IS FINALLY OUT!
(Are they non-binary? — Analyzing Undertale/Deltarune's trans representation.)
youtube
The quint essential video on Undertale and Deltarune's trans and non-binary representation. If any video is going to end nearly a decade of discourse/arguing over if these games have non-binary characters or not, it's probably this one!
(Oh what am I kidding people are still going to scream about the gender and pronouns discourse but one can hope!)
Every argument is tackled!
Someone on Reddit claiming that Legends of Localization supposedly confirms that the character's genders are up for interpretation? We analyses what the book actually says!
Someone says that they/them pronouns aren't exclusive to enbys? We'll take every other logical explanation for they/them pronouns (besides an enby gender idendity), and analyses almost every single they/them character in UT/DR, to see if their pronouns can be explained without a non-binary gender identity!! (Spoiler alert, most can't be explained without an enby gender!!!)
If someone tries to argue why Kris is non-binary, this video likely debunks their argument! It's probably one of, if not the most extensive video analyzing, and arguing for Undertale and Deltarune's Transgender/Non-Binary Representation!
This is a video I've spent many long and hard months making so I hope it makes a difference!
Below is a list of all of the sources, videos, and music used in the essay.
Sources:
First, while I don’t use any of their content in the pronouns essay, I have to thank trans-utdr on Tumblr for cataloging most of the instances when characters are they/themed. Their blog was a great help in the creation of this video essay. https ://www.tumblr.com/trans-utdr
Also forgot to mention this, but Catticus helped out with the creation of the subtitles, so giving them credit for that.

Is that really JuanaFlippa?
Based on everything we know right now, the answer is "no"
What's more likely is that this is a Binary Monster pretending to be JuanaFlippa.
On a meta level, we know the admins of dead QSMP Eggs said they won't reprise their roles, but it's no fun to base lore analysis on meta alone, so here's a lore explanation for my reasoning:
First, and perhaps the most obvious explaination: JuanaFlippa never had cracks in her shell. She died long before the event where all the Eggs got kidnapped and were returned with cracked shells, yet this "JuanaFlippa" had cracks. What's interesting to note here is that during the Election Dinner when the fake Chayanne and Tallulah tried to trick Phil, he immediately pointed out that they didn't have cracks in their shell while the real Chayanne and Tallulah did. Perhaps the imposter was trying to overcompensate for their previous mistake by adding cracks to JuanaFlippa's shell not realizing that she never had them in the first place.
The reason why I specifically say this is a Binary Monster is because of the signs she left:
We've already seen the Binary Monster(s) try to replicate regular non-binary writing before when Etoiles encountered the fake Dapper and fake Tallulah (the book he showed Forever pictured below):

"My Dapper me na name" —> "My name is Dapper"
We know the Codes are constantly evolving and learning, so naturally their writing is getting better too (though we can clearly see 1s and 0s and other errors in "Flippa's" signs despite this).
But what's the Code's motivation in doing this?
In the past, we saw the Code(s) mimic Eggs because they wanted to attack and kill Presidential candidates— but that's a pretty recent development. Remember: before the elections, they were attacking the Eggs (though they also attacked Maximus and Cellbit at one point). The motivations of the Binary Monster(s) has always been unclear, and there's a lot of potential roads we could go down while theorizing, but in the interest of keeping this as relevant to the current discussion as possible, I'll focus on just one:
We have strong evidence to believe that the Binary Monster didn't want Islanders to stay on the island. It kept attacking the Eggs and leaving behind signs that said "Last Warning," strongly implying that it was trying to chase them away.
HOWEVER: shortly before the elections, QSMPGlobal tweeted an image of the Binary Monster above the Federation building.
[ Note: I thought I had this photo saved, but I didn't. I've been scrolling through their media tab for 5 minutes and Twitter crashed, so I'll have to add this photo later. It’s very late and I am so so tired. ]
This is the first time the Federation acknowledged the existence of the Binary Monster, and afterward, it said Islanders wouldn't need to worry about it attacking them. Why would the Federation suddenly acknowledge this physical embodiment of a mistake, an error, on their (supposedly) perfect Island?
The answer? The Federation took control of the Binary Monster. Why else would they suddenly deem it "not a threat"?
We could clearly see the Binary Monster deteriorating over time during the election arc. It looked shabbier and shabbier as time went on during the election arc. Something was clearly wrong with it (perhaps whatever the Federation was doing to control it hurt the Code in some way? Maybe the Federation experimented on it and made their own Binary Monsters?) But I digress-
The next time we see the Binary Monster after the Election ends is on Tazercraft's recent stream this week. Not only does it have a new upgrade (the strange OP sword Cellbit + Etoiles saw records of), it also ignores Richarlyson and opts to take a swing at Pac and Mike instead.

Now here's where things get really weird.
Earlier this week, we also saw the Binary Monster on Etoiles' stream. It didn't attack him, and instead leads him to a sharestone, which teleported him to a portal. He's given this image, then is kicked from the QSMP with the message: "The Nether Awaits."

So what does this have to do with JuanaFlippa?
...Well, that's the question, isn't it?
This is where things start getting murkier. I want to draw our attention to two specific things Flippa said before she left:
"It's not safe out there for me."
"Please keep this a secret."
The Binary Monster has already proven time and time again it's a force to be reckoned with. Why would it need to hide? Is it so that it can get closer to Charlie? (And if so, why? To mimic him? To get information?) I think a likelier answer is that the Binary Monster is trying to hide from the Federation itself.
Perhaps whatever the Federation did to shackle it— whether they experimented on it or copied it or whatever— left it damaged and weak. Or perhaps it isn't damaged at all; it just needs to lay low and needs someone else to do its dirty work for it (like sending Etoiles on a quest to find that strange shield in the Nether).
Unfortunately, a lot of this amounts to speculation because we simply don't have enough information yet. (It's also very very very late for me, so this analysis is purely driven by sleep-deprived madness and love for QSMP lore and JuanaFlippa).
Whatever's going on, we need to be very careful and think carefully about this being's motivations. Like Cellbit said: "Eyes always open."
Anyways, feel free to share your thoughts in the tags or comments or whatever, it's always fun hearing what people think of my analysis posts. You can find other analysis posts in my QSMP Info and QSMP talk tag.

What about people who are actually nonbinary men and nonbinary women and are not just saying that so people will understand us better? Not all of us who use binary terms do it to appease binarists or to appear more "normal" in a binarist society.
Nonbinary men and women who are comfortable with binary terminology were not the point of discussion with that post. I moreso meant how as a community, nonbinary people are forced by exorsexism to conform by using binary terms, are isolated when we use non-binary specific language and how non-binary language is generally supressed by an exorsexist, binarist society. Of course, since enbiness is such a vast experience, there will be some who find comfort in these terms, but I am discussing a communal issue stemming from systemic and societal oprression, not on an individual by individual basis. There is a reason generally why nonbinary people do not use our community language and terminology, vocabulary made for us, more often compared to binary communities. This hurts the nonbinary community as a whole, including nonbinary men/women and transmasc/transfems, but more directly affects midbinary, multigender, genderless, xenic and abinary people. I am speaking on a community wide societal issue/analysis with a bit of personal annoyance as a transandrogynous person; I do not speak on every individual enban's experience. I legitimately couldn't if I tried haha. I apologise if I upset you though, that was not my intention at all.
#there could also be some minority analysis on why some non-binary people grow to be comfortable with binary terms. that was what my post was#about. sorry for any misconstrual#asks#💛🤍💜🖤#nonbinary community#transmasc/transfem binary#nonbinary man/woman#nonbinary#and btw‚ just because you see benefit from an oppressive system as a very binary aligned enban does not mean that the effect is no longer#oppressive.

⚣ ATLA/LOK: The Four Nations & Homosexuality ☀️
I'm planning to write for my favorite characters from the Avatar universe again. Any OGs from my first account know I started posting content about ATLA and LOK, specifically Bolin and Mako, WAAAY before I started posting DC and Marvel content among others.
So I wanted to talk about something I found really interesting about homosexuality within the four nations and their attitudes towards it regarding acceptance and whether they embraced or turned away from it. And since we are soon getting a new Earth Avatar series, we might as well start with the Earth Kingdom.

EARTH KINGDOM
First, let's consider the element of the nation itself and what it symbolizes.
Earth is not just the element of strength, but also the element of endurance and rigidity. In simple terms, it's a tough and stubborn element.
Also, Earth is a hybrid element, meaning it can be used in defensive and offensive manners easily.
Concerning its nation, it can be shown how citizens of the Earth Kingdom would more than likely be very conservative and adverse to any change or diverting from societal standards in the norm.
They're stubborn and stuck in their ways, so they may not react the most positively to displays of affection between same-sex couples. But, it can work in both ways.
As mentioned, Earth-benders and citizens, in general, tend to be very stuck in their beliefs, meaning if one were to have a more liberal position on the matter of social and romantic relationships, they would be just as defensive and stubborn in that belief as someone more conservative and traditional.
This goes back to my saying that Earth itself is a hybrid element. A mix of defensive and offensive tactics. Just as much as people way attempt to push their beliefs onto others, they're just as quick to defend their beliefs and ideals.
I'd also argue region/location within the Earth Kingdom is a major factor. If we're talking places like small villages or cities like Omashu in the animated version, you may be met with pushback and intolerance. But, places like Kyoshi Island where its founder was a lesbian so likely had very liberal beliefs concerning such topics. Also Omashu from the live-action since that version portrays Oma & Shu as a lesbian couple, and even Ba Sing Se since big cities are proven to attract a more liberal-leaning population.
But, interestingly enough, in the comics, it's stated that the Earth Kingdom is the slowest to accept change, and their default is still heterosexuality. Obviously, this comes from the rigidness and stubbornness of the Earth element itself. So even if Ba Sing Se has a more 'liberal' or rather "diverse" crowd, doesn't mean that crowd is automatically open to homosexuality. Ideally, the only known place in the Earth Kingdom where you could experience the most acceptance and grace from others would be Kyoshi Island
In summary, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most accepting & embracing of homosexual relationships and 1 being the opposite, I originally was going to give the Earth Kingdom a 5, but remembering how it's stated in the comics that they are the slowest to accept change which checks out, they got bumped down to a 2.
It is a very big nation and thus has the potential to plant different seeds of belief and opinion, however, it's clear in the show how rigid and otherwise, unshakeable denizens of the Earth Kingdom can be. They have their beliefs, and they strongly stick to them.
Even with someone like Avatar Kyoshi who had to go and make a whole separate Island where she and her people could live in peace and prosperity without certain influences affecting them, they still have yet to come around to the idea that other people live with different interests and beliefs, and that there is truly no 'default' for even one person.
Acceptance Rating: 2/10
FIRE NATION
Starting with a focus on the element itself again, fire is the element of power, as described by Iroh. It can burn things in its path, but can also give life. In simple terms, it's an element of strong will and desire to expand and consume, literally and metaphorically.
Fire is also mainly an offensive element, with the capability of modifying certain offensive moves into defensive ones.
Its nation's citizens and benders heavily share these traits with their element. They tend to be willful and proud, and while that doesn't necessarily equal being close-minded, pride can very well lead to stubbornness.
This is evidenced strongly by the political government of the Fire Nation, with its monarchy power having complete and total influence and control over its citizen's lifestyles and choices. If one Fire Lord feels strongly about something and makes it into law, another Fire Lord can come two generations later and reverse and change it.
This is shown in the nation's history, where homosexuality was actually tolerated (I hate using that word) in the Fire Nation for a long time before Fire Daddy, ahem, I mean Fire Lord Sozin's rule. It was during his reign as Fire Lord that Sozin outlawed same-sex relationships and marriages among the Fire Nation and its citizens.
Some speculate it was due to the clear pressure he faced being the sole heir to the throne since his sister was born a non-bender, something that was frowned upon in the royal family. A potential heir to the Fire throne had to be a firebender, with no exceptions. Therefore, Princess Zeisan was allowed more freedom and control in her life than he was, as evidenced by her embracing Air Nomad culture and being confirmed as a lesbian.
It was common knowledge that Sozin and Zeisan had a very antagonistic and tense relationship with each other, despite them being siblings. They were pitted against each other from a young age which caused a rivalry between them. So, it's completely possible to speculate that Sozin implemented the law to spite his sister who fell in love with Sister Rioshon, an Air Nun.
it's also completely possible to theorize that Sozin harbored homosexual tendencies and feelings himself, especially towards his best friend, Roku we all know was the Fire Avatar before Aang. Again, his being a royal prince and next in line for the throne threw a wrench in this since Sozin was expected to marry a woman and produce an heir. So his potential feelings for his best friend could never be explored due to his duties and responsibilities to his nation.
So since Sozin couldn't have what or who he truly wanted, no one could, and thus, same-sex love and marriage were banned. And that didn't change no matter where you went in the nation unlike the Earth Kingdom where you could go from village to village and city to city and the rules would be completely different depending on where you were.
Again, fire is the element of power and will. And if it was the will of the Fire Lord to ban same-sex relationships in the nation entirely, then everyone had to fall in line. Meaning the door was opened for more conservative and traditionalist views to be voiced in opposition to same-sex relationships.
While some may have had differing beliefs and ideals, they more than likely had to keep it to themselves, especially among the nobility. This can lead to harboring feelings of anger and resentment, rather than love and acceptance, causing people to react harshly to any displays of such affection and behavior, just like Sozin.
As I said, fire as an element itself is primarily offensive in nature. Reflecting on its people, and especially its governing body, this is clearly shown by the notion that one person's opinion and belief can be pushed onto everyone around him if he or she so decrees it.
With that, the Fire Nation gets a 3/10 on the scale. Again, in the past, they were at minimum tolerant of it. which is not much if we're being honest. Tolerant actually is kind of insulting. But, after Sozin's rule, that tolerance more than likely dwindled and hasn't improved much following his reign as far as we know.
I'd like to think that Zuko as the Fire Lord, having seen much of the world and all its different dimensions and lifestyles people have lived, he'd at some point in his reign reverse the ruling, but that's a far-fetched hope knowing these writers and creators (no shade...mostly).
Acceptance Rating: 3/10

AIR NOMADS
Air is the element of freedom. It's flexible and lacks restriction, moving in any direction it desires. And because of its lack of constraint, it becomes easily adaptable in any scenario, whether it's evasion, offense, defense, etc.
However, the element of air is primarily and almost purely used as a defensive and evasive practice among its population, due to its nation as a whole choosing to live as pacifists. But, do not be misled. As mentioned, air as an element can be just as powerful offensively as it is defense-wise.
Just as their element, the benders of the Air Temples were very open and flexible people. As monks and nomads, they chose to forego many earthly and physical connections, seeking spiritual enlightenment. Because of this, there were never any non-benders in the Air Nomads.
Any child born from an Airbender was an Airbender themselves. Also, due to their style of life and spirituality, they were very adaptive to any situation they were placed in, making them very open to any and all change around them.
While they lived by the teachings of the monks and masters of the Air Nomads, they lived freely and openly, just like their element. The most restriction they had was as children or masters/monks that lived at the temples, males and females were not allowed to live together in the same space.
I'm not sure if this applies to temples as a whole as I've seen conflicting information. Some say the rule applies to temples as a whole, which would mean the Northern and Southern Temples were only inhabited by male Airbenders, and the respecting Eastern and Western temples were inhabited by female Airbenders.
But, I do remember a specific scene from Avatar, during the 2nd season when Appa was lost, and he had a memory of when he was a baby bison, and he and Aang met for the first time. I remember the monk facilitating this was a female Airbender, so that's why I'm not exactly sure what is concrete.
But, it does make sense as in many of Aang's flashbacks to his time at the Southern Air Temple, we mainly only ever saw male Airbenders. Thus, many have speculated that this specific rule would inadvertently encourage exploration and curiosity for these young Airbenders regarding their sexuality as they matured and eventually left the temples as adults and master Airbenders.
Also, on this, no child from the Air Temples was raised by their parents. They were only raised by the monks, enforcing that common belief and practice they all had. While they of course had their own identities, they were all taught the same thing from an early age, if an Adult Airbender met and had a child with someone from a different nation, that child likely being an Airbender would be sent to the Air temples to be raised by the monks.
All that to say, Airbenders would be the exact opposite of conservative. They technically wouldn't even be liberal since, again, they detach themselves from earthly limitations in favor of a higher spirituality.
So, since they don't subscribe to earthly practices or beliefs, they would be the most accepting nation of homosexuality and same-sex relationships. It's not in their nature or belief to judge others either so they wouldn't show any hostility or intolerance to LGBTQ+ people and relationships.
Just like their element, they practice freedom and adaptability to the world around them. And just as air is primarily used in defensive manners, they still will defend their beliefs and practices, they just avoid direct confrontation, preferring evasive maneuvers.
Just a quick note, the Air Nomads are what I like to think of as the example of how this world should have been. I read another column that detailed how the creators of the show ultimately created institutionalized homophobia because they couldn't imagine a world without it, and that's in large part due to the heavy influence of Western, colonial, Christian, and to be quite frank, European imperialism on the show's writing.
It's a fact that's becoming increasingly more well-known. Before European and Christian colonization/imperialism, many cultures and communities were not just accepting of same-sex relationships and LGBTQ+ identities, they embraced it! While there were definitely pedophilic relationships that were wrong and grotesque no matter what time period it was, same-sex relationships were just as normal as opposite-sex ones. There was no "default."
So in simple terms, the Air Nomads accept and embrace everyone, no matter who they are or how they live. As long as they don’t wrong and harm others, and even then, they see everyone as equal and deserving of respect and love. And that's what our society should be based on. Of course, they were killed off in an entire genocide, which, say what you will and think what you think, but the one culture that accepts and loves everyone as they are being killed off...ironic, don't ya think?
Acceptance Rating: 10/10

WATER TRIBES
Finally, water is the element of change. Like air, it adapts to its circumstances, but more fluidly and gracefully. Yet, unlike air, it relies on the flow of energy, turning its defense into an offense and back. In whatever scenario that sees fit, a Waterbender can change their liquid offense into a solid defense, or turn a solid offense into a gas defense.
This clearly makes the water an element suitable for either an offensive or defensive strategy. Its unique ability to change its form to fit its circumstances gives its user an extreme advantage in combat or any other risky scenario.
Now, even with this in mind, ironically enough, the people of the Water Tribe are not the most in sync with their element as far as when it comes to living standards.
While yes, in combat, they adapt and adjust accordingly to their needs and goals in the fight, in regular practice, they're more conservative and less open to change than you would initially believe.
Also, as confirmed in the LOK comics, while the Water Tribes are not openly homophobic, they are still lacking in accepting and embracing the concept that there is not one rule that applies to all when it comes to who they love. Which, when you think about it, checks out.
The Northern Tribe operated heavily off a patriarchal society as we saw in the first season, and it took Paku nearly getting his ass whooped by a teenage girl who was the grand-daughter of the woman he loved but refused to wed since it was arranged for them to start to change their ways. Even if the Southern Tribe was a bit ahead of their Northern counterpart in this sense, they still suffered from the restricting roles they placed on themselves concerning gender.
Giving props to Fire Nation and Air Nomads, they never had restrictive rules on who could fight in battle, even if the Nomads as mentioned tended to avoid conflict. However, the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes both practiced and thus, were limited by their rules that men were only allowed to serve in the army and in the guard.
Of course, we've already discussed the Earth Kingdom is the slowest to accept change, but for the Water Tribes, this is a bit unnatural, and if this is how they act regarding gender, it says a lot about how they would react when it comes to same-sex relationships.
So, it's understandable why Kya advises Korra and Asami to keep their relationship to themselves. But, I personally don't believe they should. Creating change means people are going to be uncomfortable. Oh well, boo-hoo, they'll get over it.
But, this does at least check out with the hybrid offense/defense nature of water bending. People of the Water Tribe will stand their ground and defend what they choose to believe in and love. And while they may not openly go out of their way to push their beliefs onto others like those in the Fire Nation, it doesn't mean they don't still have ways have doing so. Like water, I imagine their approach to such a subject can vary.
With that, Water Tribes get a 2.5/10. They're ahead of the Earth Kingdom in the sense that they've realized excluding women from fighting hurts them more than it helps them. Also, it's highly plausible that if a woman can learn how to fight, a man can learn how to heal, but I digress. However, they're still lower than the Fire Nation since this is less of a government-forced ideology and more of a societal norm they place on themselves.
Acceptance Rating: 2.5/10

Is there an in-universe reason for why Mordred made himself look like a jester.
The meta reason is because Mordred and the Binary Bard were designed to be two different characters.
The only thing I can gather is that Mordred just so happened to have that robot jester in his ship when it crashed, and it was the only thing available for him to fuse himself with in order to survive.
In Mordred’s dream on SVI, they show the Binary Bard as a full robot. Maybe he designed it to be his entertainment or... something.

And after his transformation, he just decided to stay in this jester form instead of trying to make himself look like his old self in some way. Aka not a jester. I guess he completely lost it.

The Noble Trials Earis.
Here’s my Earis I’ve named her
Kyranix Nehellenia Calliomene Ilves
Their first name was given by a friend who thought my name (Kyra) would fit with the period but I already self-inserted myself with Luca (as you may be able to tell) so,
I wanted to put a spin on it and named them Kyranix. It just seemed fitting, this outfit currently at this moment is her combat attire. I originally went in between combat attire and formal wear but looking at other fanart of the crumpets Earis and Zaros. Kyranix’s outfit just didn’t fit in with the period
When making Kyranix’s look I based her design off of Tanya from Mortal Kombat and Kida from Atlantis and some tidbits of Egyptian and Greek origins because for me that’s what the ethics he gets from their father and Queen Roena
Now when it comes to Sakuverse Oc’s I like to have them have some relationship to me in some type of way whether that be in appearance personality or experiences some of them might be unique some might be similar but for now Kyranix has a unique one is Vitiligo, now I have vitiligo, at a younger age I was scared and ashamed of it until I grew up and grown to appreciate it and that’s what I wanted for him but I had Kyranix a lot more vitiligo than I had,
Now for the more interesting part.
Who is Kyranix Nehellenia Calliomene Ilves
(Kai•Ran•Icks) (neh-le-nia) (Cal-yo-men-E)
Age:???
Height: 5’9/6’0
Birthday: March 21st (Aries)
Favorite flower: Marigold
Eye color: Malachite
Guilty pleasure: collecting and secretly reading forbidden or controversial texts, such as poetry, philosophy, or tales of rebellion.
Natural Resting Bitch Face
Identical appearance to their grandmother
Soprano
Favorite animal: Lynx or a Phoenix
Has selective Luck
Acrobatic
Non-Binary
Now ima skip the obvious parts. Kyranix is an effortlessly beautiful complex, layered individual—a mix of brilliance, fire, and deep-seated vulnerability.
While she carries themselves with the regal composure expected of Serulla's heir, they often defy expectations with a sharp wit and a penchant for mischief. Kyranix is deeply intelligent, but they mask it behind a free-spirited, sometimes joyful exterior, knowing when to switch gears and focus when the stakes are high.
They’re fiercely independent yet plagued by a longing for validation, especially from authority figures—a result of both their upbringing and their struggles with bipolar disorder.
Their fiery temper and sarcastic humor are often shields against the loneliness and pressure they feel as the kingdom’s heir. Despite their emotional walls, Kyranix possesses an unshakable loyalty to their people and a strong moral compass, even when personal pain threatens to derail their judgment.
I’d note that Kyranix is very smart she just chooses to not be on the daily but knows when the time comes to be serious they just like to mess with people as they prefer an unpredictable persona
Talents and Skills:
Harp Playing: A skill she’s mastered as a way to channel his emotions when words fail. Their music is hauntingly beautiful, often reflective of their inner turmoil.
Ballet: Kyranix uses her flexibility and training in ballet not only as an art form but as a way to express control and discipline—something he struggles with emotionally.
Bo/Staff Combat: A weapon of choice that reflects her personality: elegant but fierce, and capable of immense power when wielded correctly.
For lore at this moment until Saku changes something up
Kyranix’s long hair and its style was a tribute to their father who wasn’t in their life long I kinda scrapped that idea because it didn’t make sense, especially with this alt costume
Scrapped Alternative Costume

But I did keep the father figure trauma because why not
Kyranix suffers from emotional turmoil and bipolar disorder and searches for validation from others; they become aggressive, angry, and resentful of paternal figures. She may also struggle with social adjustment and develop behavioral problems due to Kyranix’s status he was trained to be the best
Relationship with Zaros:
Her relationship with Zaros is a battlefield of emotions—anger, betrayal, unresolved feelings, and undeniable chemistry. Zaros’s teasing clashes with Kyranix’s fiery temper, creating a dynamic where every argument is layered with tension and unspoken truths. Zaros might see through their façade in a way that no one else can, both infuriating and intriguing Kyranix.
Kyranix herself won’t admit it but she does enjoy Zaros company as in all truth Zaros was his only true friend as many other people were just Kyranix’s friends because of their status when they were kids Zaros gave Kyranix a gift which was the marigold earrings they wear and swore and refuse to ever take off
As much as Kyranix is set on pursuing the future behind those walls she is afraid of the future and what her fate holds
Name Origin:
The name Kyranix Nehellenia Calliomene Ilves combines elements of strength, beauty, and duality. "Kyranix" symbolizes a balance of light and darkness which means "little dark one" or "beam of light", reflecting their complex personality.
"Nehellenia" connects to a protective and mystical nature, inspired by a goddess of prosperity and the sea.
"Calliomene" highlights their elegance and creativity, tying to their artistic talents and emotional depth, while "Ilves" represents independence and a fierce, cunning spirit.
Together, the name embodies a powerful, multifaceted individual who is both regal and deeply introspective, shaped by their struggles and aspirations. The name also could be interpreted as: "The radiant protector with a fierce, beautiful soul, guided by duality and independence.”
Dancer Attire:
Random Facts About Kyranix:
Silent Strategist:
Kyranix might often be found quietly observing situations, calculating the best course of action without letting anyone know they're already ten steps ahead. They enjoy playing the long game and outsmarting others, even if they appear carefree.
A Lover of the Night:
Despite their royal responsibilities, Kyranix has a deep appreciation for the nighttime, often going on late-night walks or sitting by a window to watch the stars while reflecting on their inner thoughts. The stillness of night gives them clarity and peace.
Hides Their Vulnerability Behind Humor:
Kyranix uses sharp, sarcastic humor to deflect from moments of emotional vulnerability. It’s their way of keeping people at arm’s length, but those closest to them can see through the jokes and understand the hurt behind them.
A Collection of Gifts:
Kyranix secretly collects small tokens or mementos that hold sentimental value—things they don’t often show anyone. These could range from old books to items from people they care about, including the marigold earrings given by Zaros.
Enjoys Dancing in Private:
Given their ballet training, Kyranix occasionally lets loose and dances when no one is around, finding freedom in the fluidity of movement. It’s one of the rare times they truly feel at peace with themselves.
Imperfect Perfectionist:
While they strive for perfection in everything, from their combat skills to their leadership, Kyranix is incredibly self-critical. They often push themselves too hard, secretly fearing failure and feeling the weight of their expectations.
Loves Music with a Haunting Edge:
They play the harp beautifully, but Kyranix often leans toward darker, more melancholic pieces—music that mirrors their inner conflicts and emotional complexity.
Their Idea of Relaxation:
On rare occasions when Kyranix allows themselves a break, they might retreat to a quiet garden or secluded space, curl up with a book, and sip on a drink that relaxes them, like herbal tea or something calming like chamomile with honey.
Secret Soft Spot for Animals:
While they may not openly express it, Kyranix has a soft spot for animals, particularly those that are independent but still capable of showing affection—like cats or certain wild creatures. They may be seen feeding stray animals in secret, a small act of kindness hidden from others.
Doesn't Believe in Love (Yet):
Kyranix, due to past betrayals and emotional turmoil, has a hard time believing in true, unconditional love. They might scoff at the idea of romance but secretly long for someone who can understand their complexities without needing to fix them.
Things Kyranix Might Do:
Engage in Heated Debates:
Kyranix loves a good intellectual challenge, often debating topics like philosophy, politics, or ethics, especially when they know they’ll win or outwit the other person with their sharp reasoning.
Disguise Their Emotions:
When they're upset or hurt, Kyranix is excellent at masking it. They might throw themselves into physical training or hide behind a sarcastic comment to divert attention from their inner turmoil.
Nighttime Routines:
They might have a personal ritual, like lighting candles in a specific order or engaging in a brief meditation session to center themselves before going to sleep. It’s a time when they feel most at ease with themselves.
Take Long, Reflective Walks:
Kyranix enjoys long walks in solitude, particularly when they need to clear their head or work through their emotions. These walks might take them through royal gardens, forests, or along the edges of the kingdom.
Improvise Battle Techniques:
While trained in formal combat, Kyranix enjoys experimenting with new techniques or finding creative ways to combine different styles in the heat of battle, often surprising others with their unpredictable moves.
Challenge Authority (Subtly):
They may subtly challenge their mentors or those in authority positions, often testing their limits with sarcastic comments or questioning decisions, while still respecting the hierarchy to avoid outright rebellion.
Sneak Away from Formal Gatherings:
At royal events or formal gatherings, Kyranix might slip away unnoticed, escaping to a quiet spot where they can be alone and recharge before returning to their duties.
Keep a Journal:
Kyranix might keep a private journal or collection of poems, writing down their innermost thoughts and feelings, especially when they’re too afraid to voice them aloud. The journal might also contain strategic plans or musings about their future.
Romance Novels:
secretly enjoys reading very provocative romance novels, obsessing over the heavy scenes and dramatic characters. Despite their serious, royal exterior, they get deeply invested in the stories, even making notes in the margins and sometimes reading aloud to themselves, fully immersed in the drama. This secret hobby is a humorous contrast to their composed persona, and they'd never let anyone, especially Zaros, catch them in the act.

ohhhh my god the lily was a bad friend to Snape thing pisses me off so fucking much. just willful misreading and frankly sometimes disturbing blaseness towards what the real problem was (not just the slur! JOINING A FUCKING HATE GROUP! and also slurs are bad--we should be able to understand this, right?) I mean one of the problems with it is that it doesn't fully understand the multiple power dynamics at play--blood status, gender, AND social class are all important in the lily/Snape and Lily/Snape/marauders dynamics. And also? I think Lily is meant to be read as not actually of a significantly higher class than Snape--she's working class but her family is slightly more financially stable and determined to hold themselves above him! So the class dynamics aren't 'rich popular girl Lily and poor bullied Snape' it's 'also poor but slightly less poor Lily'!! AND this interaction cannot be read without Snape's blood status privilege. And. Of course. The fact that him calling her a mudblood in public was a sign of him fully embracing Death Eater ideals and he went on to join the Death Eaters--having already been associating with them for a while. The initial slur isn't even forgiveable but it becomes even more heinous when you remember he was joining a group dedicated to exterminating her because of who she was. Why should she give a shit about who bullied him anymore? When we talk about what Lily and Snape are doing post Snape's Worst Memory, I would say that the fact Snape joins the freaking Death Eaters is a far worse betrayal of their friendship than Lily marrying James (which isn't even a betrayal, exactly, as she is, you know, an autonomous person with her own wants needs and opinions).
#Severus snape#lily evans#tagging this#anti snape#though I'm not even a Snape hater#defenses of him in this scene just piss me off so much#I read a post that was like 'change the genders' and then had a very specific read of lily as popular and implied to be rich (not the case)#and of the slur as a one time incident#when it clearly wasn't it was a step on his path towards becoming a full blown death eater#and also there is a reason the genders are what they are in that scene#you can't just switch them and call that analysis#part of why Snape is so humiliated there is that James is emasculating him specifically#so he turns it back on lily#because he is ashamed to be helped by a girl#as well as being ashamed to be helped by a muggleborn#and like..why are you choosing GENDER specifically to be the thing you are changing when analyzing a scene?#are men and women so ontologically different???? do you maybe...believe in the gender binary???#I suppose that's uncharitable#but I don't think 'what if the scene but certain things were different'#is a very useful way to analyze media anyway#I also think that the post framed it as people giving lily more leeway because she's a woman#which is uhhh very weird#and clearly not true see your own example#or even arguing that lily's (imagined) privilege#somehow cancels out her gender#ugh just so weird and bad analysis and it made me mad#lily meta#hp#harry potter#it also kind of even missed the point of why what James is doing is so bad!

sometimes i think about how the person etoiles got the gayest with on the server was not actually a person but a piece of floating binary code
#like . ‘rendez-moi *mon* code.’ the other islanders teasing him about his ‘dates’ with the code . his ‘i can fix him’ attitude with the code#etc . among many other things#out of every viable qetoiles ship the only one that came even close to prevailing was the one with the binary entity . we must keep this in#mind as a society <- it’s very funny (and also drives me crazy for like . character/story analysis reasons)#i think developing a very intense and intimate warrior’s bond with a non human entity is a very aro thing to do tbh#jay rambles#étoiles#codetoiles#qfrench.posting

The way tsuwabuki ends up physically damaged and exhausted by serving nanami is a form of acknowledgement of how trying to become a prince damages the person in question because they are trying to reach an impossible standard. It's the same as when prince dios tried to save every girl from the world and anthy had to stop him because he was going to die if he continued. But, at the same time, the ones who try to be princes are taking the agency of others when deciding how and from what they have to be saved and tsuwabuki is one of the most obvious cases because he literally creates situations where nanami is in danger to rescue her.
So I think the series shows both the aspect of princehood that is more recognized by society (chivalry, nobility, selflessness) and the actual dark consequences and implications of that (taking the agency of others, damaging yourself in the process and the need of others to being in danger to fulfil your role/feel complete). The fact that there are people, or to be more exact princesses, who need being helped and saved constantly implies that the princesses are oppressed and, instead of change this, princes put a band aid to the problem. I think this relates to what @os-eclipses-tamen-son-yuri wrote about when boys become misogynistic men. When the boys grow up and accept the role of princes, they end up upholding the misogynistic system that creates gender oppression, even if that's not their intention because that's the real purpose of that role.
The way I see it is that RGU goes beyond critiquing the idea of toxic masculinity and implies that the problem is the binary masculine/feminine itself and the roles it puts on people.

Would you say sonic is more of a yapper or just a guy who can make good conversation? I've always kind of seen him as an introvert
Being a yapper doesn't automatically make someone more extroverted. Introversion and extroversion are more like a sliding scale that determines whether a person's social battery is charged or drained by being around other people, but doesn't always affect someone's ability to hold a conversation or their charisma level.
I do think Sonic's a good conversationalist, and honestly I'm going to say that's synonymous with being a yapper in this case just because I feel like that term is usually trying to indicate something negative, even if you personally didn't mean it to come off that way, anon. I've just heard the criticism that "Sonic isn't supposed to be a yapper" enough to not really take that term in good faith? Which, again, not saying that's the case here, only clarifying that that's really the only times I've seen him referred as such.
I think it's pretty fair to say that Sonic has an outgoing personality. He's friendly and confident. He has a great deal of charisma and he enjoys exchanging quips and banter with his friends and enemies alike. He doesn't shy away from speaking his mind or giving a much-needed pep talk/inspiring speech. On some level, I think he also gleans a good amount of enjoyment when he talks enough to the point where it annoys people. He likes to get the last word in. He has a sharp wit and silver tongue and he doesn't hesitate to use either to his advantage.
But I also think it's incredibly fair to say he leans more towards the introverted side of the spectrum since he can go so long being on his own. He enjoys time to himself, where he can be at peace with nature and free to do whatever he wants without being accountable to anyone. I wouldn't say that people always completely drain his social battery, since we haven't really seen concrete examples of that, just moments where we're free to interpret that to be the case. But it is clear that he doesn't need other people to recharge the way a more extroverted person would.
Extroversion gains more fulfillment/energy from outside influences, and while time spent with others can still be important to introverted people, the majority of their fulfillment/energy comes from the self. Since Sonic's satisfaction basically comes from himself and living authentically to his own values, not anyone else's, introversion does feel like it suits his personality more in that sense, too.
To sum it up: people contain multitudes. Sonic is charismatic and outgoing. He has moods where he might be more withdrawn and keep to himself, or there'll be times where he'll come off as a yapper and run his mouth until someone threatens to punch him in it. Neither of those moods make him more or less of an introvert, however. He can absolutely be all of the above 💙
Thanks for asking for my opinion on this! Hope it was along the lines of what you were looking for :)
#skimming asks#sonic headcanons#character analysis#scared to put this in the main tag xD not looking for discourse just sharing my thoughts#also sorry for the essay anonymous 😅#I've just seen this debate around enough and wanted to provide some insight#on how talking a lot on occasion doesn't take away from sonic being more introverted#also that introversion and extroversion aren't a hard black and white binary#they're opposites on a scale but a person doesn't have to be at either extreme to count as one or the other#now if anyone thinks sonic doesn't talk a lot... that's fair but we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one lol#modern sonic that is

I'll bite and talk about something that doesn't get enough spotlight in general, which are Demetri's and Eli's family life. So obviously several fic authors have their own twists and flavors to this, but if I may sell you something for a sec.
So far into the series, what we've got are these facts:
Demetri's Mom is the only family member to be mentioned in the show.
Eli's parents were mentioned a couple of times.
That should be enough context to deduce two things:
Demetri could be an only child to a single mother, and;
Eli's parents involve themselves in the stuff that he does — including karate, who knows — though they tend to be tone deaf with his actual needs.
There's strong evidence to why the boys act the way they act (brain functions notwithstanding, but this isn't the post for that), which is why I think these deductions make sense. How their hypothetical upbringing is part and parcel to how characters behave in this series. Of course societal influence comes in second because obviously you've got a show that encourages learning karate as defense against bullies, but this show is also about generational chains and traumas! So why wouldn't their home life inform the way it informs the LaRusso's, Lawrence's, and Nichols'? But I digress.

In the span of the entire series, I've held onto this headcanon that Demetri's neuroticism and ability to anticipate his actions carefully stem from a household that needs these systems in place, much more for someone who likes to be on top of things. Since he's just a student, the only authoritative figure who can make executive decisions... is his mom. Add to the fact that she may be a working mom, so when Demetri tells Daniel about certain restrictions in learning karate, what could have made her decide to just write a letter instead vs. taking the time out to go with his son herself? I know I know it's narrative writing but like do you seeeee where I'm at here

Eli's family life is by far gave us early indications of his dynamic with his mother — but not so a father — in earlier seasons. It's possible that his mom is a stay-at-home one, but if I were to push the bounds of this box even further, I'd even speculate that she's retired early if it meant that Eli's dad is the one making most of the living. Like of course they'd get mad at Hawk for getting a tattoo at his age, I think any parent would! But the way he tells Aisha to exclude him from her stories tells us that there's not a lot that his parents know about the life he lives as Hawk. At this point we all know the kind of effort it takes to successfully carry it out because he has to go home every night. It's either he a) puts in a lot of effort into concealing this identity once he gets home, or b) his parents are rarely ever home, which again, feeds into another assumption that maybe Mrs. Moskowitz works certain hours.
All we know is they're never around a whole lot for these boys, which is sad! and also again, very Indicative of their classification as awkward nerds pre- and early karate. When I read along certain fics that consider and include how the rest of their characters besides the found families they've formed, it gives much more depth and potency to writing them, their flaws, and how they think.
For all we know, Mrs. Alexopoulos could be a lesbian making fun of her son for not slinging pussy like she does being rizzless unlike her, but don't let me explain that when we have @demetriandelibinaryboyfriends!
#binary boyfriends#demetri alexopoulos#eli moskowitz#cobra kai#this isn't so much an analysis as it is an obvious statement to include/consider when writing them with their home lives as factors#sure the writing in the show isn't top caliber#but to /some/ credit they've managed to give us literally bits and pieces of it before letting the boys set sail in a sea of violent waters#so let's just make do!#i need more character studies that deal with their folks. mentions of how their home life is. their dynamics.#bunny_bones_studio if you somehow happen to have a tumblr now and are reading this#this one also goes out to you because your fic about demetri's letters is so well-written (Just Wanted To Let You Know)#also highly recommend @baldwinboy5ive's fic Persistence of Vision#because the mention of either of their parents there is so well-utilized as a literary device for one Very Heartwarming segment to the fic#and again: different authors interpret this differently but i'm a bit tired of seeing similar patterns in establishing their home lives#when there's a lot we can make do with what we have and then spitball from there#i'm in the process of digging and spelunking through the archive these days! all the other great stuff is hidden in those pages!!!!
