About me: You can call me Claire. I'm AFAB she/her, 5'3", panromantic demisexual. Some type of neurodivergent but not diagnosed specifically. I tend to know a little about a lot of things due to jumping from focus to focus. Queen of Dad jokes, rather blunt since I'm not subtle. I teach preschool, love children as they're so fun to be around and the possibilities they have ahead are wonderful. I also bake, sew, knit, read tons of books, collect rocks and other nature stuff, tend to the gardens, I sing in my choir, and like to listen to music. Not specific music genres that I care for, more vibes, but been into some Bauhaus lately, along with SJ Tucker and The Dead South.

My faith is important to me, I even am considering pursuing becoming a religious sister at a convent, like a nun.

I do love horror, romantic gothic poetry (Think Poe and the like), analog horror(DOAI, Mandela Catalogue), Dr. Who, bad b movies (think Redletter media level bad), animation in general, HB HH, stuff like that, I read everything and anything so long as the narrative is interesting or the subject is a hyperfixation of mine, such as Religions, Mythology, History relating to late Medieval to Elizabethan, textiles, fantasy, or speculative biology (like thought potato on youtube). I also do dress in character for the Renaissance Festival, people assume I work there as I have season passes for the last 5 years and attend all weekends from open to close.

I tend to be a sweet tooth, love any chocolate, baked goods with richness or chocolate flavors, drink lots of coffee, tea, sweet red wines, mead, rum based cocktails or dark malty beers if we're going alcohol, though I tend to be the driver if I'm going to party somewhere. My giving love language is touch and words, along with acts of service. My receiving love language is words, touch, and gift giving. I love to cook or make gifts for others, usually don't expect it in turn.

I'm loud, maternal, weirdly dark yet wholesome, and able to lift a toilet with my bare hands up two flights of stairs. I tend to talk either like a southern grandma or terminally online weirdo with random swears. When friends have a bad breakup I'm like do you want a hug or does someone have to die?

In relationships I can be very talkative, but also in a sense the less dominant partner. Like, I handle the day to day, but not great at organizing the dates, the stuff like that's more romantic. I'd hope my partner could handle that part. I'm also romantically easily flustered. Like squeaking and burning red in the face from genuine good flirting.

I'm a graduate of two Master degrees: 1) International Relations in Asia 2) Russian & Central Asian Studies. I'm currently writing two theses and hopefully finish them by December.

Next, I want to enroll in PhD program and focus on politics, economy and markets in East and Southeast Asia.

In the meantime I'm looking for a job in the field. I'm thinking of an analyst of the area (just Asia or better Eurasia so it would cover both my degrees), but mixing it with academic path, so while pursuing PhD degree.

One of my hobbies are foreign languages! Over time of my education I've managed to learn English, French, Russian and I'm still learning Japanese (currently at B1+ level). I used to learn Mandarin Chinese, but I intend to get back to it at some point. Also, I'm interested in picking Korean.

I like learning often just for sake of it since my mind needs to be constantly on the go (it gave me sleepless nights several times). It could be picking some textbook (I learnt bases of macroeconomics by myself), doing some online quizes on all seas, gulfs and straits or reading a popular history/science books (because of the Oppenheimer movie, I bought "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes and yes, that's my current read!). I just enjoy it.

I have a never-ending books list on my Goodreads account (2600+ and counting). I like nonfiction (history, biography, political science, business, economics, you name it) and catching up on classics. Also, a h u g e Nabokov fan.

I'm one of these people who need to write everything down, from day schedule, important dates and tasks to all kinds of lists, trackers and brain dump. My Filofax is with me everywhere I go.

In general, I tend to be super-organized and put together. That applies to my daily or at least weekly schedule, surroundings or appearance - otherwise I can't properly focus.

I can't live without good coffee and I'm very picky about it.

Do you have kids?

Nope. I don't know if I want to or not. I definitely wanna nurture one tho, and they don't necessarily have to be my own, if that makes sense.

What sports do you play/have you played?

I don't like sports, but I like badminton because it's a childhood game.

Do you use sarcasm?

Less than I should. I don't know why.

What's the first thing you notice about people?

I'm very disinterested in strangers when I really don't wanna socialise, so I don't really look at people, but maybe the voice since I can never ignore that.

What's your eye colour?

Brown. I love the colour brown!

Scary movies or happy endings?

That's a weird 'this and that' cus it's pretty different, but happy endings of course. I like scary films but only for the thrill not the story, cus the story usually doesn't intrigue me that much.

Any talents?

Hate that word, "talent", because it's a confusing word. Do you mean talent as in the natural aptitude of a person? In that definition, I think I'm pretty talented. I was one of the high achievers because I have a natural aptitude for studying. I know how to study and I comprehend things better than other kids. I'm a fast learner. My intuition is great. I can retain information well. I analyse things well. I'm lazy and easy to get bored tho, and that's why I was one of the high achievers. Related to that I would put languages as my talents. I'm pretty natural with it; English, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean... I absorb them as I go naturally. I learn English by myself. I remember most of what I learned from random medias. But because I never apply them (except for English), I'm not fluent at all. My piano teacher said I had a musical talent, and I did win a few piano competitions, and I passed Grade 8 ABRSM, but that's SO mediocre in the classical music world, I don't really think it counts. I have not even practised for years. I actually think I'm more natural at singing, but I never received formal training. And I'm sure there are more. These are pretty "eh", ain't it, because it stops at that?

If you mean talent as in skills, then my biggest skill is literature and story-telling. It's also one of my few passions. I don't say "writing" because that's still hard to do (especially if it's in English, it's not my native language), but I do learn in my own time, I know lots about it, and I still wanna learn more. This also applies to English. What's more? I'm pretty good at cooking, I guess. I'm not a master chef, but I can cook you dishes, definitely. The only thing that prevents me from cooking more is my lack of money. This is a soft skill, but I would put "organising" too. I love organising and I'm natural at it.

For me, talents should pair with effort and practice. People should strive to have more skills if they have the means! Because of that, I much prefer asking people what are their passions and I kinda dislike complimenting people with "you are so talented!" because nah, they practise a lot behind the screen and you just never see it! ...Wait a minute, what am I doing, writing a self-development book? 💀 This is supposed to be a fun thing. Uhhh...sorry, I really dislike the word "talent" xD

What are your hobbies?

Reading stories (currently it's fanfiction), listening to music, window shopping, watching films and shows, playing games, relaxing in cafes, and eating. This is just random, but the happiest moments I can remember were when I first watched TBOSAS in the cinema and when I infodump my friend LiS on Discord in a cafe. Those are like last year and I want to feel that again.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have a dog and she's a supermutt and she's a rascal and her name is Marie and she's the reason why my pain tolerance is great.

158cm. I should have been a little bit taller, but I think because of scoliosis, nah lol

Favourite subject in school?

None. School subjects were pretty boring... Okay, maybe English. I also liked Modern History.

Dream job?

I'm not good with high-stress and high-paced jobs. I'd love to be a librarian, but libraries are not appreciated at all here. Or I'd love to be a game writer too, with teams and a writer room, as such. I don't really know how it works. Some kind of game developer, but not the programming. Or I'd love to help people, especially kids, in whatever way.

The grand Kömsko (König/Gromsko) timeline & masterpost

The time has come to sum up the lore and history of the ship that stole hearts of many by complete accident and wormed its way into the subconscious of many Polish shippers in the cod fandom. This post is for you, if you wanna participate in our little cult but struggle a bit with realising what headcanons may be appropriate for Gromsko, if you’re not Polish yourself and some König ideas that we think make sense in relation to this ship.

It all started on the fateful day of December 9th 2022 when Ghostytoasty  made the most random joke that was exactly the snowflake needed to start an avalanche of events

It led to Orin pitching an idea of enemies to lovers story for these two and my own brainworms picked it up to basically draft the whole fanfic in the conversation, at which point Shiba promised to make art for, if I actually wrote it.

Well, two days later, a child was born, the very first Kömsko fanfic to be posted on AO3

And thus the ship became reality.

It gained interest on twitter with artists like @/620_ne1 and @/Capitan_LX among others posting their own fanart of the pair

Encouraged by the small cult that spawned amongst the people of the ghostsoap discord I started working on the sequel fic, a humorous and fluffy take on the pair dealing with being in love while also working for the rival factions

Somewhere along the way, a side channel dedicated to Kömsko spawned in the discord and we begun to fill it up with the various headcanons and ideas that are now listed in a twitter thread by Capitan_LX but to sum up some facts to start your own juices flowing

Gromsko basic headcanons:

- born 11.11.1990, on the Polish Independence Day - brought up in roman catholic faith with very strict, religious parents and a younger sister we named Judyta, definitely was either an altar boy or sung in the church choir - wears a cross around his neck since childhood - history nerd, knows everything about history of Poland and will ramble all night long - has two music listening modes: Sabaton or Polish pop like Doda, hates disco polo - very patriotic, brought up basically brainwashed into believing in God, Honour, Fatherland above all else, had dreams of a winged hussar and that’s why he joined the army (but also dreaming of men, huh?) - struggled coming to terms with his sexuality because the catholic church teaches that homosexual love is forbidden, used to say very offensive shit in his youth but definitely had grown since then - swears in Polish even if he speaking in a different language - calling people idiots and other names is his language of love - never recieved gifts as a kid, cries every time König gives him something and  König keeps showering him with gifts - knows English, Russian and German but doesn’t let on just how much German he understands because König loves to whisper sweet things into his ear that he thinks Gromsko doesn’t understand

König basic headcanons:

- born 15.08.1994, on the day of Assumption of Mary which is obviously a big religious holiday in Poland - is an only child, brought up by a single mom who struggled to make ends meet and worked several jobs but would give up anything to care for him, though often was absent overworking herself - severely bullied in school for being tall, awkward and having no dad, called slurs - became a bookworm to escape reality into fictional worlds - keeps a journal of his thoughts and the books he read - daydreams a lot and in the evening writes down many stories that he daydreams about during the day in his journal but thinks they are silly and never showed anyone until Gromsko came around (Gromsko adores them) - his love language is gift giving and he will look for excuses to give gifts - listens to heavy metal and death or black metal, loves Rammstein - gets into Behemoth and other Polish metal bands because of Gromsko - brushes his teeth at least three times a day, never smoked because it’s bad for gum health - decides to learn Polish in secret so Gromsko doesn’t know he understands when he calls him names - will listen to Gromsko ramble about history all night long - anxious mess 24/7, has severe panic attacks sometimes but Gromsko knows exactly how to ground him and calm him down

time to ramble... if i'm being honest i do think i'll probably stop posting altogether because the hyperfixation left me again for good before i actually write a post without any kind of grammatical error, like i know english is not my mother tongue, but it's still so embarrassing to see in my posts, when i was pretty much known for my "great knowledge" in english when i was growing up. like... my family used to fully brag about how all the english i knew was self taught, like i was somekind of child prodigy, let me assure anyone that's reading this, i never was, i was just an introvert child with a really controling family that didn't want me playing outside with another kids my age, and thankfully i had access to a computer and i quickly learned that internet sites, like disney/cartoon network/nickelodeon offered a bigger online games catalog in their english sites rather than the one in my mother tongue. and frankly, i do admire people that are bilingual or multilingual, but i don't know how they do it, i tried to learn dutch in my teenage years and nope, it wasn't possible at all. honestly i can't explain to myself how i was able to learn english just playing kids games and listening to music, it does not makes sense at all.

i never planned to use this sideblog, i just wanted the get the url since i first saw it in a random generator, then i was finding myself with all these asoiaf feelings that i hadn't felt in 10 years, and i didn't think my asoiaf hyperfixation would go along with what i posted in my main blog, so i tried to get rid of all of these brain consumming feelings with just doing anything to get them out and since i'm not artistically inclined at all, my best bet was to do something i'm familiar with... making s!ms. and it just works perfectly, that everytime i read a book i'm never able to picture actual real people in my head, so i tried to translate what i imagined to a set of pixels in my laptop, and then, i was posting too much of them in my main blog when i could be posting another things, and i was proud of how my s!ms looked, so i decided to start using a sideblog i had laying around empty like for two whole years before my first post and yeah, obviously somewhere along the line, i started using this sideblog as a writing excercise and writing practice, like i really want to write a gendrya fic, but i want to do it in english, but you have already seen i'm not a good writer at all, i just have this weird thing in me where i think that sentences sound a lot better in english than in my own language, and i even tend to think first in english, because pretty much all the media i consume it's in english, but at the same time, oh god, i'm really lacking in the writing department.

even now that i have time to actually read all the asoiaf series again, i don't know if i will prefer to read the books in my mother tongue because i have the physical copies already and they were expensive to get with my own money as a teen or actually go and read them in english in kindle because it will make concepts more clear to relate in my mind if i ever get into writing a fanfic again. (yes i wrote a gendrya fic, when i was a teen in my own mother tongue. and i will not talk further about it because it was modern au, and i have come to the realization that i don't like modern au at all)

I used to love shounen and shoujo manga equally....But ever since I found BL manga 3 years ago, my interest in shoujo decrese a lot, and what I search for is just the dynamic between mc (male) and male lead...I don't want to read mc (female) and male lead or mc (male) and female lead...My interest in het romance also decrese....

What do you think happen to me? Sorry for this weird ask....

I mean, firstly people's tastes change and that's okay! Lots of people prefer to read same sex romance over characters of different genders! It's nothing to really worry about unless you're a dick about it, which you are not being so that's fine!

It could be that you don't like the way some female characters are treated in manga, so having none there makes it more fun to read. It could be that you find you can get more invested in a romance if you're not expected to relate to one of the characters. You may be queer and prefer to read queer romance as a result even if those characters don't match your gender!

Or maybe you just wanted a change of pace with BL. There's even manga such as "I want to be a wall" and "BL Metamorphosis" that directly talk about this phenomenon among (cis) women so, regardless of your personal gender identity, you're definitely not alone in feeling as though you can't relate to Male/Female romance anymore.

It's also true that BL as we know it began within the pages of Shojo Magazines! And indeed, many modern queer series are still published in Shojo Magazines! So you may be enjoying Shojo without even knowing it =)

Good recent examples of this include "My Love Mix-Up" and "Sasaki and Miyano"! But also let's not forget classics like "New York New York" and "Banana Fish". Heck! Why not throw "Rose of Versailles" and "Princess Knight" in there too, because honey there is nothing CisHet about Lady Oscar, and Prince Sapphire lol

And also a good reminder that "Shojo" is not synonymous with "Romance"! Yes, romantic subplots are a common feature, but when you think of Sailor Moon do you think of her as constantly pining after Tuxedo Mask, or do you imagine her doing her cool transformations and beating up whatever weird monsters have been sent her way that week?

Some good Non-Romance Orientated Shojo I would recommend that I've been reading lately are:

- Dawn of the Arcana

- The King's Beast

- Kageki Shojo!!

- Prince Freya

- Rose of Versailles

- The Demon Prince of Momochi House

(Oh and "Shojo Horror" is a whole thing too, Junji Ito got his start in Shojo Magazines. 'Starfruit Books' are a digital publisher who publish a lot of English and Spanish Language Shojo Horror so worth looking them up too if you like horror, which I don't, but respect those who do lol)

But if you're maybe looking for some Non-Heteronormative M/F romances to give them another shot I can recommend:

- A Sign of Affection (If you liked "I hear the Sun Spot" I think you'll like this)

- Ladies On Top (18+)

- Snow White With The Red Hair

- The Invisible Man And His Soon To Be Wife

And whilst these ones are still rather heteronormative, they do contain female leads who do way more than just sit around and hope that senpai notices them:

- Something's Wrong With Us (18+)

- Sweat and Soap (18+)

- Knight of The Ice

- My Happy Marriage

- Your Name

And whilst my goal this year is to try and read more Girl Love stories, (or just F/F romance in general I should say) and therefore I don't have AS MANY to recommend I HAVE been reading "Runaway With Me Girl", "Catch These Hands" and "Kase-san and Yamada"

I hope that helps! At the end of the day, whilst I always encourage people to try to read out of their comfort zone, it's your free time and your money! You should be allowed to spend it however you want, so long as you're not hurting anyone.

(I do think that anyone attempting to be a professional reviewer should absolutely try and read more books from more demographics but that's you trying to make money off of your hobby which is absolutely not the same as a rando who just wants to read about boys kissing on their time off from work/school)

What languages do I speak?

My first language is Dutch! I'm completely fluent and it's the language I speak on a daily basis.

My second language is English. I was not raised speaking English and I started taking English classes in school when I was about 12 years old. I consider myself pretty fluent in the language, but naturally I still make some mistakes as it is not my first language.

And after that I've had five years of German classes when I was in school, but I can't say I speak the language very well. I do understand it moderately though, but just don't ask me to translate it haha.

What are my pronouns/preferences?

I was born as a female and I identify as a female, so my pronouns are she/her.

I'm straight, and not part of the LGBTQ+ community, but I love and support everyone to be who they are and I will not accept any form of racism or discrimination on my blog! People who comment negatively on those matters will be reported and blocked immediately. No hate on this blog, just love!

Dear Someone Reading this (Who might not speak more than 3 languages):

Hello hello hello! Today, I feel jolly and accomplished, as I started, or experienced something new. Or is it new? I, I mean my mom decided to start Latin. However, I was deeply concerned for two reasons. The first and most obvious reason is because I learned too many languages before. A small bit of Spanish, modest Chinese, and obviously Korean and English. This would make me sort of a polygot, a person who knows 5 languages! Another concern was that I had less motivation to learn Latin, ultimately because it was a dead language. To begin with, I learned all the languages I 'speak' because they are and would be useful in real-life, as in reading texts and making important conversations. However, no one uses Latin and therefore had no merit. I also felt concerned because I had to learn through Zoom, not the best way to learn anything but Zoom. Nonetheless, my concerns disappeared, only after a cup of suspicion and a class learning random Latin words. I bravely (or foolishly) asked the teahcer, "Why should I learn Latin?", and he was thankfully waiting for that question. For ten minutes, I heard the teacher saying about English words with Latin roots, and many questions related to it. To my surprise, he wasn't a liar! As I read through the vocabs, I saw many familiar words: fugit for fugitive, portat for prepare, via for via, and in for in! I also learned that these Latin words influenced other languages, such as Spanish. The word mortem (Death) sounds like the Spanish word muerte (Death), and its pronunciation was overall similar. But the best part was fun. Reading classical Roman text with obscure words truly made it a fresh and unique experience, and made me feel like a kid reading a picture book. However, don't be fooled! The dead langauge offers only old literature for practice, and that had some historical information and philosophical ideas, all of them which I liked. Overall, my first Latin lecture felt a bit overwhelming. Despite me thinking that Latin would be boring and useless, I realized its links to other languages (as an Indo-European and former-dominant language) and its use in classical text. As the Romans were the most powerful people for a not-so-brief period of time, it is genuinely worth it to be able to learn all these old text by learning its language. I now wonder: would English be dead? Would the future consider English just like Latin today? What if Latin and English were to co-exist or not exist? Despite my endless questioning, I think it's best for me to stop asking questions, and do my weekly homework. Now I have two: This diary, and my Latin homework!

Post 1: Python Test Day! 04 03 2023

"Another test day?", I might ask myself. However, this test was far more important and exciting than most others, a test where I had to show my full pontentials and creativity. I was totally wrong on both claims. After a tough 10 weeks of practice, I may have assumed the title 'Best Pythoner', but I needed to take on a real challenge, So I can truly become a coding master. And here I was (or were), right now (or a few hours ago), I sat on the same rusty desk and opened the digital test. First glance, the test was odd. Instead of me writing a program that would show my inner beast, the test was composed of 30 MCQs, and were very dull. I might have to add, that my friend's frightened face showed how learning 2000 SAT words a week didn't help this. But I was kind of ready, and solved most of the questions. However, I was obviously uncertain of a few (30 percent of the questions), especially because this was a one-time-only exam. By the time I was finished, I was still thinking. The time limit was over, and the 30 percent of uncertain questions were gone. I had two things on my mind: I would get at least 70 percent, and what if I get under 70 and fail this test? Thankfully, or shockingly, the results came seconds later. I got a very low score, but I could barely pass. I got 70 out of 100, with a passing score of 70! I doubted the test, and thought I would get disqualified becuase the score was probably a rounded number. Despite my cynical expectations, I got my certificate, and people congratulated me. I got my official certificate, and it was because my score was rounded. And I realized one thing: People like to be lazy (e.g. oversimplify numbers), and they all benefit me. Nonetheless, I happily took the digital certificate and remembered that my coding teacher (who managed to see this whole thing) REQUIRED a score of at least 80 percent would get me to take the higher class. That was his (little early) April Fool's day joke thing. Overall though, I felt never this overwhlmed, surprised, and grateful to my life than this moment.

Simple Version: Another test? Really? Yes. This time, it was for my python (coding) certificate. I have seen the previous "doomed expressions" of my friends, and now it was time for me. I took my laptop, and ready, set, sit down! 30 questions, 70 out of 100 to pass, the test seemed simple. However, the questions were the complete opposite of the ones I've expected. Instead of creativity and wit, it was about MCQ and guessing. I took the enitre 30 minutes and I couldn't finish my test. I had two things on my mind now: "70's a piece of cake, like listening to ABBA music", and "I'm not gonna get 70, just like how Billie Jean's not my lover". To my surprise, (I think) I got a 69.6666.... However, the test gratefully rounded my grade, and I got a 70! I was so shocked, overwhemled, and glad at the same time, and the same was to my new certificate, digitally. I could now stand up and relax at the same time!

Introduction: Who is June? (By Peter McGuire, definitely not the pen name of June, I mean it is...)

Unless you were living under a pineapple house (or not from BCC), you'd probably be familiar with June. He seems to show everything he has, wants, and hates, but he might be more mysterious than that. 10. Although June never touched Non-Asian soil, he is still interested too much in American stuff, such as Politics, Music, TV, and everything. Except for guns. He needs more than that.

The “Readers also enjoyed” feature on Goodreads (which GR says was created 10 years ago to “use people’s reviews, ratings and other data to make great personalised recommendations”) is still so bad when it comes to non-anglo books, it’s kind of funny at this point. I don’t understand how it continues being so useless when there are lots of people logging and rating books in other languages on this platform every day? It’s not breathtakingly accurate for anglo books either but the “See similar books” link will suggest at least some books that are somewhat similar in some way, whereas for non-anglo books after all this time it’s still like “I see you enjoyed this short French nonfiction book about literary salons in 18th-century Paris—I’m sure you’ll love this modern epic novel written in Romanian about a man who cheats on his wife with a ghost, since you're into the Foreign Books genre.”

You checked one last time the decorations of the place. The food smelled good. The lights played with said decorations in a way that was not ostentatious. Your outfit suited you (or so you were told). Your employees looked perfectly normal AND without any hidden agenda. You have checked three times and you knocked on wood that no one was replaced throughout the night and for that matter, with effort, you had memorized all your personnel.

This fundraiser, more like a "coming out" had to be a success. Because you were L/N, who had exclusively secured a government contract to cover damages for superheroes and all related causes. While being mostly financed by the same heroes AND villains that caused such damage.

Though that's not supposed to mean they knew you knew who they were. Pros about your surprise that turns out all the theories about some people astral travelling in their sleep were true… and it was your case when something destroyed your Earth and you ended up in an alternate world… FROM a fucking COMIC.

Your company was called "Damage Control Inc" because you had a sense of humor and nobody knew about your, call it plagiarism, call it tribute, to another world. And was founded as result of criticizing the poor organization of the various insurance companies regarding these issues …and the fervent desire to have something totally Yours, not of the “you” of this world, which you suspected you had practically destroyed when you arrived.

Still a year later, you were afraid of sleeping too soundly, while their memories flashed at you at the most random moments. You still had to deal with parents who were not yours and whom you had made think that "you had lost your memory". Sad but true, cliches work.

You had never considered yourself ambitious until you found yourself with nothing, and no one to really see you. To you, not to them. And the only way for someone to see you without yelling was to stomp deep.

Even if that meant stepping on capes, playing with guilt complexes, and suggesting without suggesting a good way to launder more money to people like Lex Luthor. As you recalled the events that had brought you to the current circumstances you made one last tour of the ballroom of the hotel you had chosen, while you reviewed the list and the orders you gave in case of a "riot". The invitations had been distributed, but not everyone had felt the need to confirm their attendance. Or do it with an alias that you could identify. This could be a great hit or a big disaster.

And you swore you saw a Ra's Al Ghul alias (or at least, you read a Ducard confirm it), Queen Industries was also going to send someone and since this was a hero insurance company, Diana of Themyscira (playing her role as representative of her nation and the Justice League), various members of the government and an unknown Atlantean envoy had also confirmed attendance.

You took a deep breath as your secretary, Castor, a very enthusiastic young guy who was a decade short for filling the tuxedo, approached. Between your knowledge of "comic book lore" and his knowledge of "society" (and a couple of anxiety pills), you knew you had all your bases covered.

-Boss, it's about time!- The young man who had been with you from the beginning, as a volunteer at the hospital where you had to stay when you pretended to lose your memory, smiled -Who would have thought we'd get here– he encouraged you. Hey, I saw you write fictions. Could you help me understand how to go about writing fictions and what are the basic steps? I want to write a larry fiction but english isn't my first language and my vocabulary isn't advanced. I, however, do want to give a try maybe a short fiction. How do formulate a fiction? I have some ideas but I can't divide them into chapters and generate enough scenes. I have tried to write sometimes but it's always a dead end and I don't know to proceed.

Personally I like how read story where there's seeding in every chapter with some backstory which gradually gets revealed. I am into a/b/o phase right now and want to write a good story with basic yet great plotline which keep my readers hooked.

I have so many questions to ask. Sorry for this long ask and Thank you if you respond.

Hey sweetie. How do I say this without sounding self-deprecating? I'm still a beginner, I technically wrote two fics. I'm currently working on my first "advanced" fic, which means I'm still learning, A LOT. I can't really be a teacher right now, but I can give you some tips. I can help you with what I learned since I started writing and link some good blogs/posts. This is going to be long, so cut.

First, some tips.

1. There are so many superior writers out there, but everyone has to start somewhere.

You can't start writing with the idea you're the greatest writer on the planet. I wrote down my first story when I was eight. Did it have a good plot? No. Did it have well thought out characters? Absolutely not. Did I make a story inspired by my favourite superhero show? Yes. It was probably 300 words max and with horrible grammar. I'm a very imaginative person, so I make stories up in my head, but that was the first one I wrote down. I haven't written much since then, just some school projects and little things here and there. I only started really writing in April, I think. It was rough, but fun. It was a canon-compliant story, so it didn't need that much planning out, I thought. When I finished, I was so proud. Then I started my second fic and I realized my first wasn't the best. I was so sad when I read it back, disappointed it didn't turn out the way I had in mind. But I shook it off, realized it was my first fic, EVER. So I shouldn't put myself down. You have to start writing to get good, you can't expect to be Jane Austin without putting one word down. Don't COMPARE yourself to others.

2. Plot is never truly original.

Like music, there isn't somsthing like an original plot. Everything is taken from something else. Every plot in the world has taken inspiration from somewhere else. You can write an a/b/o fic with a spy theme, it's very clever, but not original. You've taken an a/b/o plot and combined it with a spy plot. Don't be afraid to write a cliche plot, it's about the way you write it. That's why no two fics are the same, the writer is different.

3. Find a beta you trust.

When I first started the first part of my fic (it was a series), I didn't know what a beta really did, so I asked someone to correct my grammar and that was that. In the second and third part of that fic I didn't even do that, I tried to correct everything myself. Part 4 of my series I asked a beta to help me, it was wonderful. It's the best part of my whole fic and I'm forever grateful for that beta. We weren't the best match, so we couldn't continue working together. The fic I'm writing now is much longer than anything I ever written, so I needed a good and available beta. I found one, the angel of all angels. You need to find someone that will help you with your story, but also encourage when you feel like complete trash. Believe me, you will. It's important you have someone to brainstorm with and laugh with over your your character's dumb jokes.

4. Your English is better than you think.

I'm not a native English speaker, shocker right? No, I'm joking, I'm not the best. BUT I'm understandable, right? That's important. You don't need to have fancy words to write a story. Use the words you know and if you want to improve your vocabulary, do that, with time. You don't need to be an native speaker in a day, it takes time. I'll link some good sites for vocabulary.

5. Read more fics

A good way to improve your vocabulary, read more fics. You clearly enjoy it, use it to improve yourself. Not only for vocabulary but for the plot, characterization, world-building, etc. Take in the things you want to remember, forget the rest.

6. Copy and paste

Maybe a bad thing to say, but copy and paste things you like. If there's a sentence in a fic or book you like, copy it. Of course, don't just paste it in your fic, but take inspiration out of it. Why do you like it so much? Why does it come over so good? Any words you want to use? Is the structure of the sentence appealing? Think about it, so you can improve your fic. Especially with areas you struggle with, take a look at other works.

7. Smut is scary, but don't be scared to try.

Is smut something you want to write? You don't have to, but if you want, don't be scared. As someone who wrote two smut scenes in her life, I'm struggling, but I'm trying. Take all the tips above this and just try. Things may go terribly wrong, but that's why you're practising.

8. Research research research!

Things like smut, fantasy, minority groups. You can't just write about it without any knowledge, research it. Articles, youtube videos, blogs on tumblr, etc. A simple kiss scene can be difficult if you have no knowledge about it, read people's first kiss stories or something like that. Want to try and write BDSM, read about it on a BDSM blog. Research the heck out of it.

9. Just to say it again. DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF WITH OTHERS.

Just to summarise, you're you, don't try to be someone else. You're writing style isn't worse than someone else's, it's just different. It makes your work recognisable, your text original, your hours of writing easier. Someone told me I can write young people really well, I owned it. Find what you're good at and own it.

Now that I have given you some important tips to start, I'll answer your question. How to go about writing fiction?

Everyone is different first of all, so please don't take my word for it. This is my routine, I just made up.

1. What do you want to write?

Is it your own idea, a prompt, a fic fest, an exchange?

2. What universe does take part in?

Does take place in the real world or a fantasy world? The past, present or future? Realistic or supernatural? Which country?

3. What is the goal?

Are they supposed to be lovers at the end? Do they have to defeat something/someone? A quest? Where do you want to end the story?

4. Where does it start?

Where does your story start? At the birth of your characters? In the future and you work your way back? In the middle? When your important characters meet each other for the first time?

5. What does it take to get from start to finish?

What happens in the story? What developments happen? Is it a road trip and your characters need to get closer, how do they do that?

6. What are some subplots you want to add?

Are there things that don't really matter for your goal, but you want to add? Friends to lovers but maybe they help someone's mom out one day.

7. Who are your characters?

Their personalities, appearances, quirks, relationships.

8. Who is the protagonist?

Who is the story about? Who is the main character?

9. In whose point of view is it?

Who is telling the story? You, the protagonist, the love interest, a random bystander, etc?

10. Outline.

Write down what you want to do with your story. Every scene needs to be written down. You can always change it of course.

11. Write, write and write.

Take all the tips and write.

1. What is a topic that you like to research just for fun and have more than just average amounts of knowledge about? (not like something you studied, just something that really interests you)

Ok so this is pretty random, and technically it’s related to my job, but it’s a side project I work on for fun! My specialist subject is 17th century English Silk armour, but my research into it has lead me to the Mughal Empire and Akbar, (which has become another fascination for me because he’s such an interesting character!) and to Japan and the Edo dynasty!

2. What’s your love language, but instead of the normal list, you use this one?

Ooh a tough choice but I think eating together is going to win because it’s a time when you can be in each other’s presence and enjoy something as simple or fancy as you choose!

3. do you like the time right before sunrise, right as the sun is rising, right as the sun is going down or right after sunset best?

Hmmmm as the sun is going down I think, I’m a night owl so it’s the time of day when I feel most alive. And there is no greater joy in life than sitting on a cliff watching the sun descend into the ocean - it’s magical and spiritual!

4. What is your favorite type of cake?

Give me all the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting 😋

5. What is a line from a movie/tv show or a book or a fanfic that has stuck with you for a really long time?

I have two

‘The Prince has read utopia’ from ever after is a line that randomly pops into my brain on a regular basis - it’s one of my favourite films - I had it on vhs as a child and watched it so many times I wore the tape out (how my asd and adhd didn’t get diagnosed until I was an adult is beyond me 🤦🏻‍♀️) and as a result I read utopia at the grand old age of 13!!

The other is ‘in vain I have struggled, it will not do’

From my beloved pride and prejudice- it’s a line I quote all the time because it’s so relatable - only that section (although I’ve read the book so many times I think I could probably recite it backwards by now!!) because I find so many things a struggle that quoting that line makes me smile and makes things seem a little less infuriating!!

6. Do you have like a go-to recipe you cook when cooking for other people, because you know you are good at making it?

I am Eddie - I cannot cook!! I’m not sure how I’ve survived these last few years of living on my own! But I can make exactly 1 meal - toad in the hole with cauliflower cheese, vegetables and gravy! It’s my ultimate comfort food!

7. if you had to live in isolation for one month with one of the 911 characters (preferably without murdering each other xD) which one would it be and why?

Eddie my beloved you’re gonna be stuck with me for a month and I’m going to pry open your brain and make you deal with your repression and trauma so when we’re free you are in a place to talk to Buck and Christopher and finish building the Buckley-Diaz family you’ve been working on since the day you joined the 118!!! (He may very well want to murder me by the time we were freed! 🤣)

8. what is one song that you like to listen to when you are in a really good mood? (think dancing in the kitchen, singing along at the top of your lungs with the windows open kinda good mood xD)

The Chariot by The Cat Empire - they’ve been my favourite band for nearly 20years their music has got me through some dark times and this song never fails to make me jump around and sing at the top of my lungs. If I’m feeling a bit down this is the song that will get me out of my funk.

9. if you could spend one day in the world of any of your favorite childhood stories, which would you choose

See this is such a good question, but also so hard because I’d love to visit the faraway tree, but I’d also really like to go to the haven and hang out with the fairies (from Artemis fowl!) not to mention discworld, but I think Narnia is always going to be the place I want to visit the most because I spent so much of my childhood checking every wardrobe to see if I could get to Narnia. (Fun story - growing up I had a playroom that I shared with my sister- it was next to my bedroom and because the wall was only a partition and I had a lockable old gentleman’s wardrobe, my mum cut a hole in the wall and took the back off the wardrobe so I could climb through into the playroom which mum painted to look like lantern waste - we even had a lamppost in the room!!

10. as a concept for magic in a fantasy book do you prefer emotion/intent/focus-based, spell/writing/words-based or potion/ingredient/material-based? or another concept alltogether?

Spell/writing/words based - I love when magic is shown as using ancient languages - Merlin did it really well - all the spells were from ancient English and Celtic languages (I learnt some ancient English as a result of Merlin 🤣🤣🤣)

If you had to chose one of these fanfic tropes to be the only one you got to read from now on, which one would it be: friends to lovers, mutual pining, hurt/comfort, found family (yes I know, these work best TOGETHER, that’s what makes this a hard question, because you only get fanfics that include NONE of the other tropes xD)

Well, hello, this is my first ever one shot/imagine and I hope it isn't that bad... also english is not my first language so !TW! mistakes ;)

If I write more cause I have some ideas in my mind, I'll create masterlist (?) or something like that lol, maybe someone should explain me how all the things work here.

Anyway, here it is

George Weasley x fem!reader (somehow related to Diggorys)

There is nothing said about years or hogwarts house, so feel free to imagine it if you want.

It's pretty fluffy, but Fred jokes from time to time about inappropriate things.

It has about 1.2k words, so it's quite short.

Summary: Y/N stays at the Burrow during the summer and talks with George about memories.

Spending time with the Weasleys at the Burrow was always entertainment because these people were never bored. Imagine what an amazing time they had during summer. Y/N came here a few days ago and never had the time to catch a breath. Her boyfriend invited her, wanting to spend some more time together. Harry and Hermione also were here, but they spend all day in Ron's room or outside, looking for something and ignoring everyone. Percy also wasn't eager to have an active summer, he was always drinking tea and reading books, or complaining about everything.

But Y/N, George, Fred, Ginny, and occasionally Bill and Charlie had fun every day. Their splendid ideas about things to do during summer were almost immediately were quickly realized. They had played hide-and-seek, severe quidditch matches, they even tried to cook something, which didn't turn that bad as they expected, but they left so much mess that Molly forbids them to do it anymore.

After some research, they decided to do stargazing and spend (or at least try) the whole night outside because of perseids.

Even the golden trio decided to join in after they heard that we're having supper under the stars, and we'll bring many sweets as a dessert.

"Are you ready to spend the whole night with my family next to us?" George asked, making Y/N blush because she didn't realize this earlier. "Well, we're not planning to do anything nasty, then why should I?" She replied smirking. "It's gonna be cute, you and me, lying under the stars, holding hands…" She dreamt. "And Fred by our side." "And Fred by our side… damn. He'll annoy the shit out of us, won't he, pup?" Y/N said, calling George pup as always.

"Yeah, won't I, pup?" Fred came out of nowhere, laughing at that nickname.

"Fred I swear I'm gonna cut your ears because you're always eavesdropping!" Y/N screamed, hitting Fred on the arm.

"George, why did you have to pick a girl with anger issues? I expected more from you" Fred added, disappearing from the living room, as he noticed that Y/N wanted to hit him once more.

Night came by really quickly, and everybody was outside, lying on the blankets, watching the stars and eating goodies.

"Fred, when did you start calling Georgie pup?" Y/N asked curiously.

"You know what" Y/N started. "I remember when you were jealous of me, and we weren't even together." She started explaining what suddenly came to her mind.

" Can't blame me, Diggory was around you like 24/7, I didn't even have a chance to talk to you properly. How could I say that you're the one I fancy when he was always there, making you smile, and you didn't bother."

"Well maybe because I didn't have someone to talk to. And he was my only friend. And cousin, therefore he was no competition for you. Although I have to admit that you look funny when you're jealous."

"Since we're calling each other out, do you remember when we were at the lake last summer? And you saw a frog, which you are afraid of, and you jumped at me like I was your superhero. That was hilarious. How can one be afraid of frogs? I mean, it's cute, but you were so terrified, I had to laugh."

It's obvious that when there was more of them, the wittier were conversations. Talking about random stuff, and gossiping about the ones that weren't present here tonight, made them realize that they were not paying attention to perseids.

"You know." Ginny said and everyone turned around to hear what she's got in mind. "I didn't see a damn thing in the sky. I'm going home, it's quite cold." She got up. "Harry?" She added, which made the boy get up as well and follow her like a lost puppy.

"Maybe someone deserves that nickname more than me." George made everyone chuckle, except for Ron, who definitely wasn't fond of Harry spending time with his little sister.

"Hey Ron, you can't protect her from everything. She's old enough to take care of herself. Besides, you should be glad, that it's your best friend who's with her, not some random rude bloke" Fred gave a speech which made Ron even angrier because he didn't like when people tell him what is right. After a while he also went home, telling us he needs to play chess to relax and Hermione was eager to join him.

"Just the three of us." Fred said, moving onto our blanket again. "So, what are we going to talk about, pups?"

"About your crush on Angelina." Y/N mocked him.

"Suddenly I'm not interested in keeping the conversation with you, guys. Just don't get too loud, I hear like a bat."

Y/N moved her head from the blanket to George's stomach to lay on it.

"You want to hear digesting food or what?" He joked, playing gently with her hands.

"It's more comfortable here. You know, I thought others will last longer tonight. But maybe we were mending to watch the stars alone."

"Yeah, the sky is almost as beautiful as you. I don't know why they left."

"You're so cheesy, maybe that's the reason. Oh, look! Shooting star, make a wish."

"What does it mean?" He asked.

"In the muggle world, when you see a shooting star, you make a wish, so that it can come true."

"Am I supposed to tell you what is my wish?"

"No. Otherwise it won't come true."

"I am pretty sure it will." He said, kissing her passionately.

Y/N wished this moment to last forever, while George's wish was to be with Y/N forever because he can't imagine his future with anyone else.

Lan Wangji’s communication skills and other misunderstandings

I think Lan Wangji is good at talking and can express himself well. But he restrains himself from speaking his mind and his heart for various reasons or would prefer to express his intentions through action. Just because he’s quiet and introverted, doesn’t mean he’s bad at communicating.

I know there’s already a post explaining how Lan Wangji’s speech works in Chinese in terms of syntax and pragmatics, and I think that this can be translated well in English (or in other languages). To be able to pack as much meaning in as few words as possible and to be able to adjust your speech according to the receiver are such huge signs of intelligence, wit, and skill in any language, which is something Lan Wangji is able to accomplish.

Some of my favorite descriptions related to Lan Wangji’s way of expressing himself are the following:

Chapter 73:

"Lan WangJi rarely spoke when he was outside. Even when they debated cultivation techniques during Discussion Conferences, he only answered when others questioned or challenged him. With utmost concision, he overcame, without fault, the lengthy arguments of others. Apart from this, he almost never spoke up."

Chapter 120:

"It definitely wasn’t out of cutting corners that Lan WangJi’s comments were short. He wouldn’t slack off in the slightest way, no matter how simple the task was. Rather, it was his habit to be as concise as possible, no matter in words or writing." 

Chapter 94:

"Looking at him, Wei WuXian felt a place in his heart go soft. He also thought it was funny. This one’d been like this ever since he was young. When he wanted something, he never said anything on the surface, but rather chased after it as much as he could in his actions."

Chapter 64:

Wei WuXian, “If he doesn’t wish to talk about something then I won’t ask.”

Lan XiChen, “But, with WangJi’s personality, how could he say anything if you do not ask? There are some things that even if you ask him he would not say.”

Chapter 126:

Wei WuXian, “That’s more like it. Just say it if you want some. You’ve really been like this ever since you were young, holding everything in and never saying what you want.”

In chapters 54 and 55, Lan Wangji talks so much after having been pushed to his physical and mental limits, answering Wei Wuxian’s remarks in anger and frustration. Lan Wangji also talks at length when he tells a story or relays information like when he tells the public version of Xiao Xingchen, Song Lan, and Xue Yang’s story in Chapter 29 and when he tells Wei Wuxian all about the Xuanwu of Slaughter also in chapters 54 and 55 (Seriously, go read those chapters. I can’t even quote it because Lan Wangji talks a lot and they have probably their longest conversations in the book in those chapters.)

Lan Wangji is also perceptive enough to know when he will not be understood the way he intends and can adjust himself well. 

Chapter 74:

Lan WangJi, “Speech is forbidden when dining.”

For Wen Yuan to understand, he repeated it again using simpler language, “Do not talk when you are eating.”

Wen Yuan quickly nodded and buried himself in the soup, not saying anything anymore.

When he is nervous, he can get a bit tongue-tied like the average person:

Chapter 111:

Lan WangJi stared straight at him. Something strange glowed in his eyes. He started, “Then…”

Wei WuXian, “Then what? Stopping in the middle of the sentence isn’t your style, Lan Zhan.”

To offer some comparison, Wei Wuxian who is even wittier, more verbose and just generally more talkative, also gets tongue-tied when nervous:

Chapter 95:

The surging heat finally began to retreat. Wei WuXian’s head was still dizzy as he rambled on, “In these two lives, you’ve helped me a lot. I know you’re… really nice to me. You’re really great! Apart from thank you, I don’t know what else to say to you… Anyways, towards you, I feel… I feel…”

But this wasn’t the point at all. Wei WuXian had never confessed like this to anyone before. Even someone whose face was as thick as his felt a bit embarrassed. He could only first pick a few random things to say. Just as he was thinking how to explain himself to make it sound sincere and serious when Lan WangJi suddenly pushed him away.

But once he is comfortable with someone or when his reasons for restraining himself are gone, he will speak his mind and heart. We can see this when he freely talks to Lan Xichen about the things Wei Wuxian has shared with him in Chapter 125. He can also be witty and a bit sassy, especially in the present time, as we can see everytime he throws Wei Wuxian’s words back at him or even makes subtle digs at Wei Wuxian:

Chapter 21:

After a few moments, the strings played two notes on their own. Wei WuXian quickly asked, “What did it say?”

Lan WangJi, “I do not know.”

Wei WuXian, “What?”

Lan WangJi replied in an unhurried manner, “It said, ‘I do not know’.”

“…” Wei WuXian looked at him, suddenly remembering a conversation about “whatever” a few years ago. Touching his nose, he was at a loss for words, and thought, Lan Zhan is so bright. He even learned how to make me speechless.

Chapter 25:

Suddenly, one of Lan WangJi’s arms wrapped around his back and, as Lan WangJi bent down slightly, another went toward the back of his knees.

[...] Carrying him, Lan WangJi both walked and replied to him steadily, “You said that you didn’t want to be carried on my back.”

Wei WuXian, “I didn’t say that I wanted to be carried like this either.”

Chapter 45:

Wei WuXian was also shocked. He turned to Lan WangJi, “Your sect makes disciples do handstands while copying? That’s awful.”

Lan WangJi replied calmly, “There would always be someone who did not learn their lessons by simply copying the sect rules. Handstands not only guaranteed better performance in the future but also benefited cultivation.”

Of course, Wei WuXian was the someone who never learnt his lessons. He pretended as though he didn’t know what Lan WangJi was talking about. (Chapter 45)

. He can even be smooth as shown in Chapter 126:

“Be honest about whether or not you thought about me in the same way.” In a solemn tone, he spoke, “Rejecting me like that so coldly every single time—it really made me lose face, don’t you know?”

Lan WangJi, “You can try, now, to see if I would reject you over anything.”

The sentence so suddenly struck his heart. Wei WuXian choked, yet Lan WangJi was still as calm as ever, as though he didn’t at all realize what he just said. Wei WuXian put his hand to his forehead, “You… HanGuang-Jun, let’s make a deal. Please warn me before you say something so romantic, or else I won’t be able to take it.”

Regarding his feelings for Wei Wuxian, apart from that moment in the cave after the Nightless City massacre, I don’t think he ever intended for Wei Wuxian to know his feelings since Wei Wuxian already told him he was straight (Chapter 54: "Don’t worry—I don’t like men, I won’t take advantage of the opportunity and do anything to you.”) and then kept giving him mixed signals wherein Wei Wuxian would flirt with him but then pass it off as a joke. Unfortunately, Wei Wuxian did not remember that one time Lan Wangji wanted Wei Wuxian know how he felt, which causes much of their misunderstanding in the present.

I would also like to point out that Wangxian didn't really have a miscommunication during that time as Wei Wuxian would acknowledge Lan Wangji's concern and basically go "Thanks, but no thanks. You’re wrong and I have everything under control." In fact, they actually reach an understanding in this conversation in Chapter 75:

A moment later, Wei WuXian spoke up, “Lan Zhan, you asked me if I intended on staying like this from now on. To be honest, I’d like to ask something as well. What can I do apart from this?”

He continued, “Give up the demonic path? Then what about the people on this mountain?

“Give them up? I won’t be able to do it. I believe that if you were I, you wouldn’t be able to do it either.”

He continued, “Nobody can give me a nice, broad road to walk on. A road where I could protect those I want to protect without having to cultivate the ghostly path.”

Lan WangJi gazed at him. He didn’t reply, but both of them knew the answer in their hearts.

There was no such road.

Look how smooth he is after he and Wei Wuxian got married. He finally knows and feels that he can freely express his love to Wei Wuxian in words, and he does just that in his elegant manner of speech

We can see here that Wei Wuxian has made his decision and all Lan Wangji could do is to respect it as a mere outsider in Wei Wuxian’s life.

In the present time, they have a misunderstanding but it is not borne from the lack of ability to express themselves. Rather, it is due to Wei Wuxian's impaired memory. Add to that the fact that Wei Wuxian has already made assumptions about Lan Wangji that are actually not completely true as we are shown throughout the novel. At this point also, Lan Wangji has already been rejected and pushed away many times and is under the impression that Wei Wuxian already knows his true feelings.

In conclusion, Lan Wangji can express himself well. It’s just that he’s quiet and prefers action over words. Communication or expressing one’s self is more than just the skill of being able to put your thoughts and feelings into words. There’s plenty of other reasons why someone might not be saying something. Conflicts in the novel are much more complex and aren’t just because of mere miscommunication or inability to talk and express themselves properly. Not all problems are resolved in a way that both parties unite and end up on the same side. Differences in judgments and views happen and the only resolution is just to agree to disagree.

Because I hate myself, I decided to go to the effort of compiling as much lore as I could extract from the hosts (exclusively from The Ride since it’s way more linear) because a lot of it was cool and I didn’t assume there would be so much.

While not really a fact, it’s genuinely cute that one of the floors you visit with Guy hosting is the same floor that Cookie sent him to in the beginning of the game. However, Guy never points this out, so Guy has bad memory (Hollywood)

Buzz:

Schmitty calls him “kiddo”, suggesting that either Schmitty is an asshole [a known fact] or Buzz is the youngest [or shortest- I know how men act] of the five hosts [which would surprise no one] (Games)

According to Buzz in Vol. 2, the only thing written on his birth certificate is “Buzz”, however in this game the guest host card with his name on it says “Buzz Lippman” [where did that last name come from? Did he get married between the two years and he took his partner’s name because he wanted to have one for once? Good for him] (Games)

Very good at math, being able to divide numbers by 12 and 69 accurately to the decimal in his head (Games)

Doesn’t actually hate Cookie as much as people think he does, as he turns to Cookie to ask for help when hosting his question. Cookie however doesn’t supply it. (Games)

Either he is the only host who had Nate’s number on hand to call him, or Buzz is the only host with enough brain cells to think of calling one of the hosts to complain about where he was [Cookie was down there for ¾ of the game, what’s his excuse?] (Games)
