So I had this idea of Connor meeting adéwale who gets a sense of deja vu but can’t pinpoint from whereand the two of them teaming up to find the son of adewale’s friend and Connor’s father both not realizing that they are looking for the same person until they have a run in with haytham and adewale having a lot of things of Connor suddenly make sense with the reveal

So this would be a bit hard considering Shay killed Adéwalé while Ratonhnhaké:ton was just a kid but we can fudge it a bit. They did talk a bit after Shay struck him down so we can make this a case of “he almost died but he didn’t”.

Let’s say one of Adéwalé’s crewmembers survived and found him, dragging him out of danger and helping him survive.

During that time, Adéwalé dreams of Edward Kenway, of the past they shared, the letters they sent to one another…

When he wakes up, months have passed and he was still too weak that he could barely walk.

He had been transported to Port-au-Prince and being taken care of by his son, Babatunde Josèphe. His son tells him to rest and that they’re trying to get in contact with the Colonial Assassins but with no luck. Messengers either return empty handed, talking about the danger and the heightened Templar presence, or they do not return at all.

The Templars had the colonies under their control and it was becoming too dangerous to try and infiltrate the colonies while Shay Cormac, the Assassin Hunter, is on the hunt.

Adéwalé can’t do anything but try to heal his weak body, his mind dwelling deeper and deeper into the darkness the more news they hear about what had happened to the Assassins in the colonies.

The Assassins Adéwalé knew.

By the time he was strong enough, the damage had been done and the Brotherhood were too busy in France and Britain. Their letters asking Achilles if he needed help only being met with silence.

But Adéwalé knew he needed to go back there.

No.

He needed to see Haytham Kenway.

And kill him.

Even if it was the last thing he did.

Haytham Kenway had destroyed what the Kenway stand for, what Edward had worked so hard to create.

As Edward’s friend…

As his only remaining friend…

It was Adéwalé’s duty to destroy the last remaining Kenway before more damage could be done.

His son tells him he was projecting his guilt and anger to someone else.

His grandson did not understand why he was leaving.

Adéwalé was part of the past and he was dragging Haytham Kenway with him if it was the last thing he would do.

So he returns to the colonies and meets up with Achilles.

That’s when he meets up with the young man learning under Achilles.

Ratonhnhaké:ton.

There was something about him that reminded Adéwalé of Edward Kenway…

So he took Ratonhnhaké:ton under his wings as well and Achilles didn’t say anything. Ratonhnhaké:ton never told Adéwalé about his father by name because Achilles had told him months before Adéwalé had returned that he should keep it a secret.

Being known as Haytham Kenway’s son would only put him in danger.

So Ratonhnhaké:ton kept quiet.

And they formed a bond with Adéwalé assisting him.

Where Achilles pushed for caution, Adéwalé supported any way he can.

Ratonhnhaké:ton was free, like Edward. It would only serve to push him away if they try to chain him down.

The best way to support Ratonhnhaké:ton was to help him.

And then…

That faithful winter day…

In an abandoned church…

Ratonhnhaké:ton and Adéwalé come face to face with the man they were both searching for.

911 ep 710 first watch reactions

Ha, so Chris is upset, Eddie is distraught and his go to person is Buck, who drops everything else and comes over right away. And not for the first, or second, or third time. Yes, this is exactly how every platonic friendship I've ever had has played out.

The way Buck reads Eddie, knows him so well, that Buck can vocalize the part that Eddie can't say out loud right away... Soul mates.

"What you always do." Married soul mates.

LOL The way Hen and Chim don't even blink when Buck and Eddie show up at the hospital together, like the married couple they are. XD

This group of fire fighters being the best amateur detectives on TV since the Scooby Doo gang will never not be funny. Also, highly implausible, but that just makes it funnier.

"You go to hell!" "You first!" So 911 was having a western kink kinda month, and decided to set up this very likely storyline, just to be able to quote Tombstone? Hmmm.

"This one, we both walk out of." See, 911 is the show where I can roll my eyes 30 times during a storyline, but the climax moment still gets to me with its humaneness. That's the show's power. And the follow up reunion with Bobby! I had no doubt he'd live, but it was still very emotional to walk with Athena down the hospital hallway into his room and get to not only see, but also feel it.

"Bobby is the father I've never had." We know, but it was still nice to hear. "Your father's alive." Oh, Tommy. How little you understand Buck. "So maybe we both have daddy issues." "I don't." "But you think I do." "God, I hope so." lol Is this supposed to be flirting? If so, it's so off the mark for me, the dart ended up in outer space. I mean, Buck obviously has daddy issues, and I guess whoever needed that confirmed can celebrate (I'm sure there will be even more fics digging into this now), but pointing that out in the middle of a date is hardly the sexy move this ep's writer seems to think it is? IDK, I'm obviously a Buddie shipper, I like BuckTommy better than any other r/s Buck's had with a non-Eddie person, I do enjoy it as a part of Buck's journey (and I also generally believe in ship and let ship, even when something isn't my endgame), but even if I was a BuckTommy shipper, IDK that I would have liked that line. Especially when it treads a bit close to the issues I had with the BuckAbby r/s, which the show has never properly addressed. Oh, well. I'm still mostly amused that someone thought this was a great flirty line.

"He's 13, he should have a say!" To be heard? Yes. To have the final say? No. He's 13, not 18. There's a reason why at that age, we don't let kids make decisions for themselves yet. Also, the Diaz parents trying to pretend like the fact that Chris suggested him living with them for a while isn't their secret fantasy come true (or that they have no past where they hurt their son with this idea) is just crude. Also, hinting to Eddie that if he doesn't let Chris run away from his problems, then he'll be just like Ramon, is fucked up.

Also, kinda hilarious that Buck and Eddie's daddy issues are both brought up in the same ep. Sometimes being soul mates means exactly that, getting your partner perfectly because you have the same emotional baggage.

So, Chris is leaving, and the first one to talk to him on screen since the Kim debacle, and since he got the green light to go, is Buck? And Buck's also still there for the actual parting moment? Speaking of actual dads rather than bio ones...

I really liked Eddie just hugging Chris, using no words. There might not be anything he can say to fix this right now, but he still loves his son more than anything, and he can still let Christopher know that. And then when the message didn't get through, even though he's not a words person, Eddie managed to verbalize it. Don't mind me, I'll just be bawling quietly in the corner.

Buck's comforting hand on Eddie's shoulder is the real MVP. <3

I'm glad Mara's back in touch with Hen, Karen and Denny, but this feels a bit like a "deus ex machina" moment, even if it's just to wrap up the season finale, and not the final resolution of this storyline.

Bobby and Amir are actually so similar. They both lost everything, they both were at their lowest, they both chose to help others when they had nothing else left to live for. That handshake was a nice ending to their story, and it did feel more "earned" for not coming quickly or easily.

Ha, that ending. It's a good twist of events as a build up for season 8, it's just interesting because 911 doesn't usually do end of season cliff hangers. I also feel like, knowing the show, I can already predict more or less how it will turn out, so I'm not even feeling that much suspense. But it's not a bad turn of events, so long as it works for most viewers, I suppose. Overall, I enjoyed most of season 7, it feels revitalized, better paced and structured (despite being shorter) than seasons 5 and 6, and I have no doubt everyone will flock back to see how things unfold in season 8. Especially when this season was a nice reminder of everything this show can do right, and why we love these characters and fire family so much.

I'm not as confident at drawing children, which is why he's not featured very often atm. But he will appear in my au so eventually I'll figure it out :'D

How old is he? -> He's around 8-ish when Ballad has to leave for the main au.

What is his favorite food? -> Pancakes! With honey syrup and berries.

Is he a mama or daddy’s boy? -> I thought about this one a lot last night and I'm still indecisive. While he'd spend a lot more time with his mom (Ballad IS still one of Zelda's soldiers so he can't stay home as often as he'd like. And if they are home they're usually injured/recovering sadly), I do think he'd be a daddy's boy. Any time Link is around so is his son, if its possible.

What’s his favorite animal? -> Much like both his parents, horses! Cuccos are also a plus :)!

What’s his favorite thing to do with his mom/dad? -> Taking care of the horses and cuccos with Malon seems to be his favorite activity, as well as doing little crafts and drawing (inheriting his creative-eye from his dad). However Ballad takes him fishing when they have free time, or if his son bugs him enough to xD

Is Ruto his auntie? -> Yes! She's still relatively close to Ballad so by association she's automatically one of his son's favorite people. She's always visiting if she happens to be nearby or on the way to Hyrule Castle, and always has gifts for the fam <3

What’s his favorite color? -> Yellow ☺️

Does he have or will he get any siblings? -> Can't say 🤫

What dose he want to be when he grows up? -> I imagine he'd wanna continue working on the ranch, especially with his love of horses and the other farm animals they have.

And finally how old was he / will he be when his dad "kicks the bucket"? -> I also cannot answer this 🤫. It'll eventually happen ofc, especially since Ballad has a habit of getting himself horribly injured. But he always makes it home. Eventually.

Some extra info below:

Appearance wise he looks more like his mom, but inherits a lot of his interests and personality from his dad.

Ballad is horribly protective of him and tries his absolute hardest to keep his son out of his soldier-business. But eventually he loosens up and teaches him basic self-defense (which means his boy indeed knows how to use a sword, though not very well just yet).

He's named after his dad, but is often called "Koki" (or "Linky" by Malon if Ballad happens to be in teasing distance.)

He was born hard of hearing as well (being mostly deaf) and has been learning sign language from both his parents most of his life now (He knows Hylian and Gerudo sign language, but has also picked up some Kokiri signs from his father).

His parents had to result to at-home schooling due to the bullying he'd receive at the schools in Castletown. He's mostly taught by Malon or a tutor.

He’s also a soldier and he’s fought in the war, he has metals and shit so you fuck with his son he will end you himself. It’s too bad this version of his son actually does not deserve him.

I did not show it here but yeah I did draw Custard Cookie but he’s actually a great father who shows compassion and empathy. However is is way to forgiving of his son’s actions and he will defend him even if his son is clearly in the wrong. So yeah evil clotted cream keeps being a shit. He does try to teach his son to do better but Blue Cream just views it as him being a softie. He hates how soft his father can be and refuses to listen to someone who he believes is not using his power properly.

I think the best way I can describe this AU I made with them is that the Environment is pretty much the same. Like grand/canon events still happened here it’s just everyone’s personalities are swapped. Like for example: the beast cookies stay good in this AU, in that they were made by an evil dark witches. They rebel and against them, and those witches still lock them away. Faeries are rabid evil creatures that were put there to guard those cookies and the power is still split and handed to the ancients, but they’re evil now. And so on and so on. If you’ve played a link between worlds and you’ve heard of Lorule, it’s literally that. I’ll just label this the Inverse AU.

I just had the vivid vision of shoto topping dabi. Straight up being a very dominant presence. My thought for this ship would have Shoto in the dom/top position taking custody of Dabi post the League losing the war and Dabi being left completely alone again and having failed to kill Endeavor, he would be the one who would see how desperate Dabi still was to prove to their father he was better than the trash that he disregarded, and at the same time Shoto would acknowledge that Dabi both hates him for being his replacement and idolizes him for it as well. He would be the one who would choose to push that idolization and obsession to control Dabi, slowly forcing him away from the path of wanton murder and destruction, to proving to Shoto he's his equal. He would train with Dabi (and "train" Dabi) until he's a good pet for him, one that he can keep contained even if it costs him his soul and sanity throughout the process. His birth broke his entire family beyond repair, fixing Dabi is the only way to make it better, and if this is the way he has to do it to maintain control, then he will. He's always done whatever he had to to spite his father before. (And if Dabi cries out for 'Daddy' while they're fucking, then that's fine too. He'll be everything that his brother needs. Here they are, the only physical descriptions I found about either of them was that Phobos has a lion head, so he's a lion boy now XD Deimos looks more like a wet cat

Both of them are Executioners for the Inquisition, so they answer directly to Athena when they're not with their father Ares. Generally, they're loner characters who are daddy's boys so they don't get along too well with their other siblings like Eros and the Erotes because they just love to fight. Despite being the gods of fear and panic, it's rare for them to ever feel the sort (unless Ares is angry with them), so motivating them via punishment is often ineffective. Athena realized this early on and saved them from getting kicked out of the military for 'attitude issues'

4. If you count Isshin and Ichigo, then yeah, we have that. They are a perfect duo. Legit hilarious and Isshin actually loves his son and will protect him.

7. Ichigo gets his ass kicked like every arc, at least. Not to mention, the internal battle that he has with his inner demon, both literally and narratively. This guy has more layers than an onion.

8. Pick one. You want angsty antagonist? Coyote Starrk. Angsty protag? Ichigo. Angsty female character? Rukia Kuchiki. Angsty side character? Uryu Ishida. It is filled with angsty characters.

9. Rukia, Yachiru, Yuzu, Karin, Nel, Toshiro, Momo, pretty much, anyone that won't kill you, but knowing you, you will adopt all of them.

10. Renji FUCKING Abarai, this boy is the most hilarious boy on the planet and I love him for that.

HEY WHAT HEADCANONS, SHIPS, OR WHATEVER HAVE BEEN ON YOUR MIND RECENTLY? 🩷🎤

Ahhhh! Thank you so much for sending this in, Pink! I have so many Swiss thoughts and kit thoughts at the moment while I'm writing the latest chapter of Blood Moon so these headcannons/thoughts/ideas are gonna be a hot mess.

So ships, I love me some polyghouls, but at the moment, I'm loving Mountain x Aurora and Swiss x Delia.

Mountain is so big and Aurora is so tiny. I love me some height differences XD Aurora will get lost in Mountain's bed when spending nights with him and she's like a demonic little gopher poking her head out from his blankets.

I love writing about Swiss and Delia! It's just so good and brings so much joy making them happy together. Swiss loves his pack, but he adores Delia. She's his favorite human (which makes other siblings of sin a bit jealous, but if they so much as talk shit about Delia, they're gonna get ate)

Swiss currently has 6 kits and he adores and cherishes them all. Three of them are from Delia and their names are Onyx, Shade, and Cheese. One is from Dewdrop and her name is Cinder. The other two are from Cumulus and their names are Nova and Vortex (Vortex is Swiss's only son btw, so 5 daughters and 1 son). Swiss is a girl dad even though he loves his son just as much as the others. The ghouls are super affectionate with their kits, but Swiss in on another level. Mans can fall asleep holding them and he'll be content even if it hurts his neck. Kits grow fast so he wants to be able to hold them when they're teeny tiny. Even when they get bigger, that's not gonna stop daddy Swiss from holding them :')

Kits are born blind and unable to open their eyes, but after a few weeks, they're able to open them. In the meantime, they rely on smell and taste so they lick almost anything that comes into contact with them. Most of the time, they're swaddled up like baby bats, but when they're not and they learn how to crawl, then they are unstoppable!

Ghoul magic! All of the ghouls can breathe different magical powders that affect humans in different ways. One can paralyze a human and numb their senses (perfect for hunting or spicy time), another gives humans a high that's similar to weed and it makes them more relaxed and easier to influence (too much can put a human to sleep lol) , and another is an aphrodisiac that makes humans and ghouls super horny X3 Swiss is a master of all these different magics

Another ghoul ability that both multi ghouls and quintessence ghouls are capable of is shadow manipulation. They can melt into the shadows which can help with hunting and sneaking around the church. Swiss of course uses this for evil and will scare the shit out of an unsuspecting sibling or he'll sneak into some dorms and spy on whoever it is that he chose to torment

Oh yeah, the Emeritus bloodline is full of vampires and the current Papas activate their vampiric power when they rise to papacy. They used to just seduce and drain unwilling siblings, but after some time, it was agreed that willing siblings could just donate their blood. If they want to do it the old-fashioned way, then they can just ask ^-^

Those creepy twins are also vampires, but no one knows where they came from. The Papas have to share their blood supply with them or else they will run wild and attack anyone.

Ghouls can reproduce both via eggs and through pregnancy. It all depends on the situation. Ghouls can lay eggs in humans, but they are unable to become fertile unless under special circumstances (such as a ghoul's heat occurring during a blood moon and the eggs are laid within a human). If a ghoul simply lays eggs in a human during any regular heat period, then the eggs won't be fertile. Ghoul magic is weird lol

Ghouls and humans can reproduce without the blood moon, but they first need to conduct a reproduction ritual with the help of a Papa.

I think that's about it with my current thoughts, but if you wanna ask me more about headcannons and thoughts in the future, then I'll gladly talk more :D

Ok, WHAT IS UP WITH TIANA AND NAVEEN'S SON?! THAT'S NOT THEIR KID! While the turning into a frog is cool, the poetry thing has got to go. Now while it is strange that NAVEEN's kid is all shy and stuff, to me honestly kind of makes sense. I mean, come on? If Tiana and Naveen were to ever have a kid, they would totally be a MAMA's BOY! But they would have MUCH better hair. But let's change his name to either Louis or Raymond. He also has a crush on charlotte's daughter! I think I'll name her Lenny. I also think he would have a wild crazy little sister. She's 7 and her name is Tina! She rides crocodies EVERYWHERE and wears big necklaces , hoop earings and bracelets with long curly pigtails! She and charlotte's daughter are best friends. And she's a daddy's girl! Their both wild and like adventures, and got his personality and winning smile! She's the next mama oldie! (Brair would love her lol) She doesn't like Apple though lol. She's very hyper and shakes people's hands hard like a cartoon XD.

Briar isn't as close to her parents as everyone thinks. She and Aurora fight a lot. She was a wild child. The West Wing wild child is what they called her when she was little. She always hated sleeping. Constantly saying "Well if I'm asleep, I'll miss everything! I won't know what's going on!". I think she would know how to shoot a bow and arrow.

Since Brair parties a lot, I like to think she causes a bit of mischief too. She pulls pranks around the school (mostly on the headmaster) and I can tell you she's been caught a few times.

For season 4:

Espsiode idea (4 parter): Brair gets caught pranking the headmaster (faybelle told on her) and she suspended. no parties, dentation for 2 weeks and on jantior duty. But instead of taking the punshiment, she pranks him again! And she's send home!

Pt2: Brair is sent home and everyone is upset that she was send away! Expelled! So everyone, Apple, Raven, Ella, maddie (and later faybelle) sneak out of school to go to brair's kingdom and convice her parents to let her come back! (Everyone else covers for them, with the help of baba yaga!) But when they get there her parents say no! But they do let them talk to her. Then brair tells them that she heard her parnets are going to punish her by making her follow her destiny early! PUT HER UNDER! AND SLEEP FOR A CENTURY! AND SHE'S ALREADY FALLING IN AND OUT OF CONSCIOUSNESS! With out knowing what to do, the girls go back to school empty handed.

Pt3: The girls snuck back to school later that night only to show up with no Briar. Everyone is wondering what happened and where is she. They didn't cover them for 2 DAYS FOR NOTHING! After they told everyone what happened their all silent. Everyone is at a loss for words. Brair is gone. They'll never see her again. Even Faybelle feels bad. She was just being a tattle-tail. She didn't mean to "kill" her! "You! This is all your fault!" Apple screams and points at Faybelle. "My best friend is going to be asleep for 100 years and it's all your fault!" Apple runs away crying followed by everyone else. Ella, Maddie, and Raven go up to Faybelle and ask her why she did it. "It was just a silly prank! She does them all the time! I'm just being the villain that I am! But I never wanted to actually put her to sleep!"

Did daemon and rhaenyra have a favorite child? I always see people agreeing that rhaenyra's was lucerys and daemon's was baela but what do you think?

Yeah.... I disagree on both of those XD

For Daemon I would argue it was one of his sons. Aegon most likely, since he was the son he had wanted so long for (and killed for).

For Rhaenyra it was either Jacaerys or Aegon in my opinion - maybe both but in different ways. Jace was her first child, her heir, and many mothers will tell you that the first child is special. Indeed, most of the people I know that have siblings all agree that their eldest sibling is the favourite. And, most mothers I know with more than one kid also usually favour the eldest. Even if they don't admit it, the way they talk about their eldest is usually different. Being her heir he would also be the one who had to spend more time with her, learning how to run Dragonstone, how to rule.

Nonetheless, I would also argue in favour of Aegon being the favourite. First because she had him during one of the happiest times of her life -> she was married to a man she loved and importantly a man she CHOSE TO MARRY, that friendly reminder that she was forced to marry Laenor, besties. Second, because he was the first child of hers she could have openly with her baby daddy (i.e., Daddy Daemon). I think people romanticise and whitewash her forced marriage to Laenor and her situation a LOT. How much? Yes. Not being able to openly have a relationship with a man you actually care for and have him openly being the father of your children (i.e., Harwin) is distressing. Sad as well. Ask any person who ever gave birth - or imagine the situation - and ask them how they would feel if their partner could not be there with them to name the child. If the name was not their choice. If the child could not name their partner father. How would that be? How can this look like a good situation to anyone?! I fail to comprehend.

Was her marriage to Laenor better than what, for instance, the one Cersei had with Robert? Absolutely, she went her way, Laenor went his, and no one was r@p$d or ab_s$d. Was it good? Absolutely not and it was painfully obvious how unhappy and lonely she was, how quickly she becomes attached to Laena is a very significant proof of that. In a way, I think she would see Jace, Luke, and Joffrey as the only truly good thing she had during those times.

This all said and I don't think either of them displayed any favouritism over their children. Even because, we see no resentment of any kind between them, not even between the half-siblings, unlike what we see between Rhaenyra and her half-siblings. The seven of them seemed very close to each other.

Viserys and Aegon were clearly bff's.

Baela and Rhaena are shown to talk to each other in a very close and warm away. Baela even uses a nickname for her and calls her Rhae. I believe she is the only one who does.

The "Velaryon" princes also seem extremely close -> quite normal given how close in age they were. They are shown multiple times protecting each other.

Jace is shown wanting to protect Aegon and Viserys.

Baela and Rhaena are loyal to the bone to Aegon III. Baela even says to someone - I don't remember who - that only her brother could command her. Furthermore, they were able to influence him to spare Corlys.

Aegon III was said to admire (I believe the actual word used is worshiped) his three older brothers.

I doubt this would be the case if either Daemon or Rhaenyra were playing favourites with them as this will - even if subconsciously - create some resentment between siblings or even some rivalry.

"I'm going to KINDY-GARD-EN!" Randy sang at the top of his lungs. Your older child bounced in his seat at the breakfast table. "I'm going to KINDY-GARD-EN with DAAAAADDDYYYY!"

You managed to hide your laughter with a big sip of coffee. At the counter, Blue became very focused on packing two lunch boxes. Next to you, your daughter Cherry banged on her high chair. "Kind-eeeeee-garden!!!!!" she shrieked. "I go with Daddy!"

Oh. Ooo...

"No!" Randy turned to his sister before you could. "Only I go with Daddy today! You're too little. You stay with Mommy and have fun here!"

Cherry's big eyes filled with tears. "Mommy?" she asked, looking at you as if someone had kicked her puppy.

You swallowed your coffee and gave her a big bright smile. "That's right, Cherry Berry! You and I get to stay home and have fun with the cousins. Uncle Sweets is going to bring over Gracie and Gideon to play with us, and Uncle Boss is going to bring Poppy. We'll have a Two Crew Party!"

That seemed to calm Cherry for a moment, but then she asked, "Someday too?"

"Uh, no, honey. Someday's going to school with Auntie Anne. She's starting pre-k, just like brother is starting junior k."

"Kindy-garden," Randy corrected.

"Yes." This particular fight was not a fight you were going to win, so you'd given up days ago. "Randy and Someday are going to be big kids and go to school today, and the Two Crew all gets to party here."

"And," Blue added, noting the looks on both children's faces, "we'll all have a big family dinner tonight once everybody is home. All our family and friends will come to celebrate, because it's a big big day!"

"Big day," Cherry repeated.

"That's right." You took your cue from Blue and spoiled a little surprise. "You and the Twos are going to help me make decorations, and help Uncle Sweets make cookies."

"Yaaaayy cookies!!!" Cherry banged on her tray again. "I do it now!"

"Not now. Eat breakfast first."

"Otay..."

Randy was still looking a little torn. "Can I help with cookies?" he asked.

You leaned over and hugged him. "I'll save some for you to decorate after school," you promised. "The party won't be until dinner time, so there's time for you to help too."

"Yay!" Randy hugged you and then turned back to his breakfast. "Come on, Daddy! Eat fast so we can go! We have to get to school!"

Both your boys bolted their breakfast. Blue sent Randy to his room to get dressed. You cleaned up Cherry a bit and let her out of her chair. She toddled off in the direction of Randy's room. You'd have to go after her, but you took a moment to have a moment with your husband.

"I'm really proud of you," you said, hugging him. "You're finally a full time teacher!"

"I know!" Blue bounced in your embrace, beaming. "I'm so excited!" He leaned in and whispered in your ear, "And a little nervous..."

"You'll do amazing," you assured him, and sealed the promise with a kiss. "I'm so proud of you, love." One more kiss and then the two of you separated to go and deal with the wild giggling shrieks coming from Randy's room. (Somebody decided the bed was a trampoline, apparently...)

Twenty minutes later, you watched your husband and your son get into the car and drive away. You and Cherry waved until they turned the corner and were out of sight.

"Mama sad?" Cherry asked, noting the tears in your eyes.

"Just a little, baby," you said. "I'm going to miss Daddy and brother."

"They come back," Cherry assured you, and your heart melted. You hugged your daughter close. You were so, so happy and so blessed to have the family you had.
