Researchers at the University of California, Irvine recently uncovered strong evidence that enriching the air with fragrances improves cognitive performance by strengthening a critical connection between neurological areas involving memory and decision-making. Their experiment, involving 43 men and women aged 60 to 85, suggests cognitive decline and conditions such as dementia might be slowed by simply diffusing a different choice of perfumes through the bedroom before bed each night. Keeping the old gray matter stimulated as we age is vital to maintaining good cognitive health. That doesn't just mean keeping up with the daily crossword – it means peppering our environment with all kinds of sights and sounds for the brain to chew on.

The Neuroanatomy of ADHD (recommend to watch on 1.25 speed)
Part of Dr Russel Barkley's talk about the neuroanatomy of ADHD, touching on topics of Working Memory, Motivation, Timing, and Emotional regulation. The full talk is also available on YouTube if you want to listen to it all.
I found his work very useful in understanding more about how ADHD can affect the 'expected' working functions of the brain. By being able to pin down more specifically the ways in which my brain differs from the typical, I feel better equipped to find and develop accommodations that actually work to combat them and also to accept and understand more about myself.

When all else fails,
repeatedly lift heavy things off the floor. Then pull heavy things down to your chest. Follow it all up by rucking with 40# on your back for 5 miles.
Finally, come home and have a Scottish Shower.
My hamstrings and glutes are currently on fire. I could use a massage to break up the IT bands in my quads. I could also use a happy ending to that massage, you know for the dopamine.

I'm putting this to a poll because I need to know how my fellow human beings process the world.
I work at a motel, and there's a big NO VACANCY sign hung up at eye level on the office door. You can't miss it. It is literally the first thing you see when you visit us; it either says VACANCY or NO VACANCY in big glowing blue neon letters, and yet every single day I will have multiple full grown adults, fluent in English, presumably American or Canadian based on the accent, who completely ignore the sign and ask if we have any rooms. I need to know if they're stupid or selectively literate.

You struggle to accomplish your goals because you don’t know where you are at and you don’t know who you want to become.
Accept your current situation. Know who you want to become. Know what you really want in life. Know your why, what’s motivating you to do it. And ask yourself different questions on how you could achieve it. Your brain will find a solution internally in different ways don’t worry about it. Then you’ll be able to take the first action that will be intuitively correct only for you.

- The left hemisphere of the brain controls positive emotions, casing the right sid of the body to convey positive emotions, especially in facial expressions.
- The right hemisphere of the brain controls negative emotions, causing the left side of the body to convert negative emotions, especially in facial expressions.
- A twitch of the eye or corner of the mouth, or eyebrows, can determine someone's emotions. (Note: not 100% of the time.)
- In an interrogation, usually, a twitch of the left side of the face can determine stress, or any negative emotion.
- **Stress and negative emotions aren't a valid reasoning of deception or guilt. It's an outdated idea.**
