Sobbing, wheezing with laughter, crying. Boys........boys why are you like this.
Tumblr media
IS THE PLOT GOING TO BE GETTING OUT OF THE DUNGEON NOW?
Did the orcs not point them in the right direction at least?!
Tumblr media
Marcille, you look like shit. I guess you haven't recovered after that intense battle too well.... and this is bad news if you guys are now being herded into a labyrinth by that sorcerer.........
Tumblr media
aww, come on. They're just a bunch of little guys! Look at em!
Tumblr media
Lookit em.
Tumblr media
MAKING THE WORGS WAVE THEIR PAWS GOODBYE NOOOO STOP IT THIS IS TOO MUCH
Tumblr media
S-senshi..... Senshi.........do you think you're traveling with children? Senshi. Did you. Did you actually think you faced a red dragon with children at your side? Was that a logical thing you did? Was that really how you reasoned it out...?
Then again, I think Senshi MUST be older than all of them in comparison but still...........
Tumblr media
Go, Chillchuck! I choose you!
Tumblr media
My money is on the ghosts which are clearly numerous and common in this world.
Tumblr media
👀
Oh?????
Tumblr media
SENSHI, LET HIM LOOK!!!! DON'T BE A HOMOPHOBE!

Tumblr media
I mean......NOW it is........
Tumblr media
Their faces......they're so fucking tired of his shit.
Tumblr media
........I........I'm with Marcille on this one............ ....please put those back.
Tumblr media
Marcille and Essek would get along great.
Tumblr media
That dryad was the one with the least amount of boobage, too. Trans rights, I guess.
Tumblr media
Senshi draws the line at........fruit babies that don't yet look baby-like....? Curious.
Tumblr media
And now we're back to smashing faces. What an excellent harvest of uncanny valley.
Tumblr media
"I'll still eat it, though!" You know what that is? Growth.
Tumblr media
C-can he... do that? Just learn magic without anything?
I mean, it's stupid to ask I guess. I know wizards exist. I guess I just thought this fantasy system required a knack for it?
Tumblr media
What a big happy....... family.
Gods, the terror of having another adult try to babysplain sex to you. Every day Chillchuck wakes up.

Further Research Required
Temperance explains an embarrassing aspect of tiefling body language to Gale. He immediately decides the topic requires further study of the hands on variety.
*This is smut. If you know me, no you don't. In fact, if you happen to know me, this post is blank. Shoo.
“What does it mean when your tail lifts up into an ‘s’ shape like this? I have been meaning to ask but it slipped my mind until now, what with everything we’ve had to handle just lately.”
And then Gale demonstrably ran a finger down the length of her tail. Startling her nearly out of her skin – not to mention the pleasant daydream that had stolen her concentration. It also made her squeak.
Temperance wasn’t the type to squeak. And yet there really wasn’t any other word for the sound that escaped her throat.
She looked over her shoulder at Gale, face about as red as Karlach was normally. He had his chin in one hand in his ‘thinking’ pose and was looking at her behind with his head tilted and rather more academic curiosity than she thought appropriate.
“Gale,” she half growled.
He looked up at her – then blinked. “Are you alright? You’re looking a touch over warm…”
Human, she reminded herself. He’s human.
His fingertips were still brushing over the skin of her tail. It had her heart beating too fast in her chest. She knew he wouldn’t have touched her at all if they weren’t in a relationship. No matter how curious. Even so he probably thought it no more sensitive than an arm, or a leg.
“When my tail does that it’s – uh…” Mortification. She hadn’t felt embarrassment this keen since she’d been a teenager and Eldrey started poking fun at her for her ‘fuck me’ tail every time the older tiefling pulled her into a hug. Nothing on or under Toril could get her to call it a ‘fuck me’ tail to Gale. She stumbled over her words. “It, um, indicates – attraction and, uh, desire. So.”
“Oh?” A beat. Then he blushed. “Oh! Yes, that would…” and then the wizard trailed off, eyes going a little distant. Surely remembering the many times her damned tail had made just such a motion while she was talking to him.
Temperance had never quite managed to control that sort of body language. It came from growing up without any older tieflings to model from or to teach her. Even Eldrey only knew what it meant because someone else had told her.
“This is certainly information worth knowing,” he went on. His voice dropping to a caressing tone. One that made her mouth go dry and the end of her tail – the traitorous appendage – wrap around his wrist. There was a gleam in his eye too, curiosity no longer merely academic.
“Gale,” she repeated. Incredible embarrassment warming her through. But not just embarrassment, oh no. There was a thrill of desire low in her belly that only went hotter and tighter at his tone and heavy-lidded expression. “Stop it.”
“I would like to point out, Temper, that it’s you wrapped around me. All I’ve done is make an… observation.” His smile as he said this had more than a touch of mischief in it. “Though I think this new knowledge requires further study on both our parts, yes? I can assure you I am as avid and thorough a student as I am a teacher.”
And then he twisted his captive wrist and curled each finger, one by one around her tail, sending a zing of pure heat directly between her legs.
“For example, you seem to be rather sensitive here… are you?” Still that soft, beckoning voice. The one that sent chills down her spine.
“I think… you’re clever enough to realize the – the answer to that question.”
Gale’s hand caressed along the sensitive skin near the base of her tail, seemingly fascinated by the way she gasped and arched into his touch.
“Is this an area of study you’re keen to explore?” he asked, pausing for a moment. Checking in. Something that only made her love him more.
“Yes,” she said, breathless. “Please?”
This was all the invitation he needed. Gale hooked the hand not currently held captive around her middle and tugged her back against his chest. “Now, might I have the use of both of my hands for this, love?”
It took a little concentration, but she unspooled her tail from his arm. It was still high, and even fully clothed and backed up against him she felt ridiculously on display. Which was sort of the point, really.
“Very good,” he praised. “Now lay back a little for me – most excellent, just like that –”
The back of her head rested on his shoulders, and her legs were on their side of his. A sort of backwards straddling, with one of Gale’s hands carding through her hair and the other splayed somewhat possessively across her lower stomach. Once he was certain she was stable, his hand moved from her belly to the hem of the long, split-thigh tunic she wore about camp.
“May I?”
Her heartbeat spiked again, and she squirmed. Terribly aware of how damp her underwear were. She had been entertaining a rather… explicit fantasy when Gale started all of this.
“You may.”
He hitched up the ‘skirt’ of her tunic and slipped his hand between her thighs, cupping her covered sex in an almost gentle movement.
“Why, you’re nearly soaked through, love. What ever were you thinking about? Not alchemy, I’d wager.” Those clever fingers of his dragged across the seam of her pussy almost lazily, causing the fabric to stick and creating just the slightest bit of extra friction. “Perhaps that novel Wyll was reciting earlier today?”
Temperance closed her eyes and whined. Sensitive. Needy. Not certain if she craved a firmer touch or more of this terrible teasing. She could feel his cock hardening against her backside, proving his own growing need. Something that compelled her to wrap her tail around his waist and pull tight. As if he could be any closer.
“I was thinking about you,” she admitted. Allowing herself to relax against him even as her thighs trembled and her hips lifted to press his hand more firmly against her. “Your, mm, your hands, actually.”
Gale’s breath hitched, and she turned her head slightly to catch sight of his expression. Something raw, and needful, and – fond. He saw her looking and pressed a lingering kiss to her temple. “Just my hands?” he murmured against her skin.
She let out a breathless laugh that turned into a moan as he pushed aside her underwear and slipped one finger between her lower lips. Just barely brushing over her clit on the first pass. “Your, ah, your voice. The night we spent together, in the stars. It’s… It’s terribly distracting.”
A second finger joined the first. The heel of his hand pressed down on her as he rocked them deeper inside her with such precise, careful movements.
“I do try to be memorable,” he laughed, crooking his fingers inside her and making her gasp. “Would that I had as many hands here as I could have there.”
She closed her eyes, humming in pleasure at his touch. At how very closely he held her. Close enough she could feel his heart beating against her back. Chills raced up and down her skin at the way he held her open and set her on display.
“You’re quite the sight,” he murmured into her hair.
Gale worked his fingers in as deep as they would go and stopped moving. He simply held her against him. Bending his head and pressing kisses full of tongue and teeth down the column of her neck that made her clench around his fingers and rock against them.
The possessive way he held her had her tightening her tail around him, and her hands fisting in the fabric of his trousers. As much a mutual claiming as she could manage in their current position.
“Now,” he said softly. “Research.”
Gale shifted so he could kiss the back of her neck, slowly leaning forward until she was on her hands and knees with her damned tail standing practically at attention when he managed to slip its grasp. She groaned when he pulled his fingers from her, trying to follow his hand as it pulled away.
“Ah, ah, I need you to stay still for me, love.”
If she’d felt on display before… Her face went so hot she thought she might catch something on fire. “As… as you like.”
“Very good.” There was a smile in his voice, and the praise made her shiver.
Gale flipped up the ‘skirt’ of her tunic and tugged her underwear down to her knees. Then he paused, looking her over with a pleased hum that had her pressing her thighs together and squirming. Something she realized just put on more of a show for him. But then, she wanted to. Even if she’d much rather he go back to touching her the way he had been.
“Are you going to stare, or are you going to touch me?” she huffed, flicking her tail at him.
He cast a spell that made her skin prickle with awareness, then reached out and caught her tail. One hand gripping at the notch just under its narrowest point, the other right below it and sliding up, up, until he reached the place where it met her spine. He lifted the appendage and kissed the underside at the very base. A place she hadn’t even realized would make her gasp. And when he licked her there her arms went out from under her and she half collapsed onto the carpet.
“Gale!” it came out strangled and far louder than she wanted it to considering they were in his tiny bloody tent right next to a godsdamned vampire –
Gale stroked his thumb through her folds and caught on her clit. He pressed down on it until her hips jerked and he pulled another noise out of her. Her pussy clenched around absolutely nothing and all she could think about was his lips and his tongue as they explored the ridges of her tail, and the two fingers he pumped into her.
It was so, so good. But not enough. Left her balanced right on the edge.
“Stop teasing me –”
“Have you noticed how you tighten around my hand each time I put my tongue to your tail?” he asked. Almost casually, if not for the breathless note in his voice. And the hint of smugness.
“I, mmff– fuck!” His teeth, scraping lightly over her. “Gale please, I need you inside me –”
“Well – if you’re saying please.”
There was a rustling sound and then his cock was pressing against her entrance. Her tail draped over one shoulder in a loose curl when he let go for a moment. Gale parted her lower lips and dragged the head of his cock up and down through the folds of her sex. Making her shiver and lift one hand to muffle the next too-loud moan at the sensation.
“Please,” she said through her fingers, voice cracking.
“You need only ask and I will happily provide,” he said softly.
He pushed inside her, then. So slow despite how he’d prepared her with his fingers, despite the fact that she was so wet she could feel it on her thighs. Decadent man. He took his time, sliding in and out of her, going a little deeper each time. Dragging out the stretch and the burn until at long last he was fully seated inside her.
“Good?” he asked, breathless, both hands on her hips. “I can take you to such heights if you let me.”
“I,” she had to fight for words. She felt too full, too sensitized. He was all around her again, just like in the stars. “I want you to. Gale, show me.”
“Then hold tight, love,” he said.
He tightened his hold on her hips and started to move. Slow at first, but moment by moment increasing the tempo. Gale was not a small man, but the angle as he covered her body with his and wrapped his arms around her made him feel bigger. Each thrust had her pushing back against him, chasing the pleasure. Wanting more, because she was so, so close.
“Don’t stop, please, I just need –”
One hand dropped down low so his talented fingers could play with her clit. Intensifying absolutely everything. Making each thrust feel like a match strike. Every muscle and nerve ending went molten and began to sing. So did she, crying his name out and coming with such intensity it made her vision spark.
Then her entirely insane wizard murmured a word of arcane power that hummed through her body like she was a tuning fork. And there was another set of hands on her. Or rather, another set of Gale’s hands, pushing her up while the ones at her waist pulled.
She found herself back in the position she’d started in, only this time seated on Gale’s cock with her probably ruined underwear around her knees. Flushed and flinching from the too-intense shocks of pleasure every time he moved inside her. His projection was kneeling in front of her, and leaned forward to kiss her throat with cool lips that sparked slightly against her skin. It was like being kissed by a stormcloud. Electric. It made her body hum. The projection smiled at her with eyes darkened by desire, clever hands undoing the belt at her waist and then… waiting.
“Gale?” she gasped, skin erupting in goosebumps.
“Do you think I would be content to watch you fall apart only once?” He said, rocking up into her again, something that made both of them moan. “The night is young. We’ve so much to explore together. Until the very moment you wish to stop.”
Temperance sighed when the projection pulled her tunic down over her shoulders and bared her breasts. It leaned forward and tongued at one of her nipples, a move that had her snatching at the real man behind her. The projection was relentless. And she quickly realized it didn’t need to breathe.
Then it moved from her breasts down her stomach, trailing its tongue over each hard ridge of her infernal heritage. And Gale continued to fuck his cock into her. Pulsing inside of her, hot and heavy. Just on the edge of too much.
An edge she was shoved over with a hoarse shout when the projection began to kiss her pussy. It’s tongue against her clit. That lighting-in-a-bottle sensation tearing through her. Too much! Too sensitive. She pressed back against Gale, one hand clinging to his shirtsleeve, the other to the mirror before her. Caught between them both as they brought her to the edge again, and again.
Until something snapped. A ripple of magic letting go as a spell broke, and Gale swore softly under his breath. The projection – apparently not the spell he lost – sat up and kissed her again. Swallowing her cries in its mouth as Gale’s hips stuttered against her. Harder now, without rhythm.
He buried his head in her neck and clung to her as he came in a sudden, hot burst. And when he did, there was another snap and the projection vanished. Leaving the two of them to gasp and tremble alone in his tent, still lit by the blue flickers of light in his chest.
For several moments they just sat together and caught their breath. Until Gale’s creaky knees began to protest a little too loudly and they had to part. Temperance couldn’t help but whimper when he slipped out of her, knees knocking together and tail snapping down to protect from any further touching. She could feel her pulse between her legs still, and wasn’t entirely sure that, if she were asked to in that moment, that she could stand.
Gale pulled her into his arms again and held her close. Careful to avoid the parts of her still singing and over-sensitive.
“Quite a mess I’ve made of you,” he said, clearly pleased with himself.
Temperance swatted at him with her tail, exhaustion dragging at her limbs. “Vengeance will be mine,” she mumbled. Still shivering a little.
“Vengeance? Really?” His tone was caught between laughter and softness. “Surely I deserve a reward more than a punishment? Did I not satisfy you?”
“Oh, you did.” Temperance nuzzled into the velvet texture of his camp shirt, eyes drifting shut at the way he was running one hand through her hair. Curiously, he seemed to know to avoid her horns. They weren’t always sensitive, but just now….
“Then perhaps it’s the broken promise of ‘all night’ you object to? Used to be I could keep three spells going much longer than that,” he sighed – sounding genuinely annoyed at that last bit. Because of course he would be.
“Three?” she tilted her head to look up at him.
“Silence, endurance, and our extra guest,” he said.
Temperance forced herself to sit back up so she could find his lips and kiss them. Soft and chaste. “I love you.”
He looked at her like she’d been the one to place the stars in the sky, lightly running his hand up and down her spine now. “You are everything to me.”
She pressed their foreheads together and watched him close his eyes. One day soon, she was going to show him that he was everything to her, too.
But first…
“Please cast prestidigitation before we both pass out.”

Reader: GN - They/Them
A.N: I really wanted to rewrite this one, because I feel like in my previous one I just smushed a bunch of info togheter and it came put too messy. So here's a rewrite :)
For anyone who wants to read the previous ones: Part l || Part ll
[These will be just introductions for now, I'll get on with the main story later on]
❝ Hogwarts ❞
Dream
A Slytherin, which is ironic considering his zodiac sign is a leo
Comes from a family of purebloods who is, unfortunately, related to the Malfoys
But they don't like to associate themselves with that family, actually they've been "disowned" by the Malfoys
You first meet him on the train ride to Hogwarts, where he takes a interest in you in the most "love at first sight cliche" way you can think of
Sapnap
Gryffindor, born muggle
His parents noticed the very out of the ordinary things that happened around him, but they always thought it was just a coincidence
But once the letter arrived it explained a lot and answered many questions
They were all opened to a whole new world, so it definitely took some time to get too
But that's where you and Dream come in the picture
You three had met at Diagon Alley. You and Dream helping out the very confused Sapnap who had no one to guide him though this new place
Badboyhalo + P!Skeppy
Bad is a Hufflepuff and Skeppy is a Gryffindor
They both come from pureblood families, but aren't as close minded as most are
In your first year Skeppy accidentally pranked you while he was trying to get Bad; They both felt so bad (hehe) but you somehow befriended them in the end
Quackity + Slimecicle
Quackity, a ravenclaw, and Charlie, a hufflepuff, were probably the loudest out of their respective houses
You three knew eachother since you all lived in the same city
They both didn't know that you were a wizard, you promised your parents to never mutter a word about it
But it seems like you didn't have to keep that secret any longer
Because a week before school started you three received the same letter from the same witchcraft and wizardry school, Hogwarts
Karl Jacobs
Karl's is a half-blood, Hufflepuff, with only one dream in his mind
To become a Magizoologist just like his idol, Newt Scammander
And what better way to become one then to attend the same school he went to?
What he doesn't know is that there's also someone there with the same hopes and dreams as him, you
Wilbur Soot
He's the most well-known Ravenclaw in the school
Related to the flying class teacher, Professor Phil
His looks and talent attracted every person that passed him by
In the eye of everyone else he was the perfect wizard, who'd have an amazing future
You didn't buy into any of that, because you knew him better then anyone else
But both of your futures seem to be more complicated then both of you expected it to be
P!Philza
As previously mentioned, Phil is the flying class professor
Also an Animagus who can turn into a crow, that's how he kept eye on the students while they are in the air
He has three sons: Wilbur and Tommy who attended Hogwarts and Techno who attended Dumstrang
Also his wife, Professor Tristin, teaches Herbology
Nihachu
A Hufflepuff from a pureblood family
Who also happen to be a Metamorphagus
Every year she has a different hair color that attracted the eye of many students around the school
Resulting in her being hated by some of her fellow housemates
Tumblr media
❝ Beauxbatons ❞
George
Attends Beauxbatons but transfers later in 4th year
He's a ravenclaw and is a half-blood
Your first encounter is during the Tri wizard Tournament, when you both decide to ditch it and just hang out
Let's just say he enjoyed your company, and Dream's and Sapnap's, so much that he decided to transfer
Eret
With George, Eret also transfers to Hogwarts and entered the Ravenclaw house
Everybody had eyes on them when they first stepped foot in the Great Hall with the other girls
Her veela powers were probably at fault
But you didn't give her attention until the Yule Ball, when she asked you to go togheter
From what you've heard, she had been trying to get your attention the entire time she was there
Tumblr media
❝ Dumstrang ❞
Technoblade
He doesn't attend Hogwarts at all
Obviously, as I said before, he is related to Phil, Wilbur and Tommy
He first shows up at the school during the Tri Wizard Tournament and ends up being the chosen one to represent his school [he takes Victor Krum's place basically]
Then in your 5th year he makes another appearance as Phil's apprentice
Foolish
Him and Techno were all the talk during the tournament
They were the most eye catching of the bunch so everybody seemed to want to know them
You somehow ended up having to help Foolish during a chase with his new found fan club
But unfortunately that got you into a bit of a problem that all end up with a happy ending ;)
Tumblr media
❝ Ilvermory ❞
Punz
Another pureblood unfortunately related to the Malfoys
While Dream was lucky enough to have parents and siblings who didn't support the Malfoys and the rest of the wizards like them, Punz didn't have that luck
His family truely believed in everything that you-know-who and the death eaters had done in the past, to which he did not agree
And once Harry Potter was back he was disowned from the family for not following in their footsteps
But Dream and his family were happy to welcome him at their home and help him attend Hogwarts as a "transfer student"
Most of the Slytherins didn't give him a heartwarming welcome tho
Awesamdude
To cover up what had actually happened with Punz and his family, Sam was also asked to attend Hogwarts as a transfer student
Being welcomed right away by the Gryffindors
To you he was like any other boy in that house, just american lol
But maybe he'll prove you otherwise

I hope you're having a good day!! ♥️
If it's not too much trouble could I maybe request SFW headcanons for Gundham Tanaka x a cheerful gender neutral Ultimate Herpetologist (studies reptiles)? Can take place non despair or during the killing games!
It is no pressure at all if you don't want to do this, and please feel free to take out anything if I got too specific!! Real life comes first ^^ thank you!
Gundham Tanaka x Cheerful!GenderNeutral!Herpetologist!Reader
Tumblr media
This is so cute! I want all the geckos!! Does anyone remember the geckos can-can song that was on animal jam? It played in the movie theater in that one jungle biome where you could play the pill bugs game!! I miss playing animal jam but I can’t because flash is dead and I can’t download it on my device. My account was bumpin too! I had an arctic wolf with full diamond armor. I miss things like animal jam, wizard 101, and Moshi monsters!! So sad :C
Sorry if anything in this fic is inaccurate to Gundhams character but I did some research about him on the wiki. Just let me know in the comments!! Love ya!!!
TW: No trigger warning but some people are grossed out by reptiles
Tumblr media
♡ Gundham was unimpressed with your talent at first glance. Sure, he loves animals, but mainly the ones in his care. Other creatures just didn’t match his in power - in his mind - so if you actually own any reptiles he didn’t care much for them… Unless you consider wanting to hold them for at least three hours a lack of interest.
♡ You met under really weird circumstances.
♡ He was in the class next door to yours and you didn’t really know much about him. Sure you knew each other's names, but to him, you were just some cute person who he happened to share the same school with, and to you, he was just some guy with a unique fashion sense.
♡ Class had hardly started and your teacher was only taking roll call. You were sitting next to Toko, since she was the only person not freaked out by the iguana that sat in your lap.
♡ “Sayaka Maizono.”
♡ “Present!”
♡ “Toko Fukawa.”
♡ “H-Here.”
♡ “Y/N L/N!!!” Everyone in the classroom stopped and turned their heads toward the door. It sounded like it was coming from all the way across the hall, but as time passed, the sound of feet tapping upon the ground became louder and louder. Gundham Tanaka burst through the door, only seconds later. He immediately rushed to your table and began yelling at you about his missing hamster.
♡ It turned out that he was unable to find Jum-p. Having seen you with your iguana that morning, he assumed the worst and immediately accused you, only for you to return with an argument that he couldn’t rebut.
♡ “Um… My Iguana didn’t eat your hamster…” You told him awkwardly.
♡ “And how do you expect me to believe that?! You would do anything to aid your partner in crime, you fiend! You’ve even stooped so low as to lie to a being of my power!” Please don’t hate me I can’t write Gundham dialogue for shit.
♡ “Iguanas don’t eat meat… They’re herbivores, dude.” You explained.
♡ “I… Beg your pardon…” Yeah. Somehow he didn’t stop to consider that before blaming you.
♡ You were still kind enough to help him find Jum-p. You spent the entire school day looking for him and searched the whole school. It turned out that the hamster had simply fallen asleep in his desk, and due to this, when Gundham called for his hamsters, Jum-p didn’t respond.
♡ Gundham’s such a big dummy dumb!! I love him!! (─‿‿─)
♡ He was really embarrassed, after the whole event. A little because he forgot a fact that someone with his talent should definitely know, but mostly because it was in front of you.
♡ After the two of you got together, his interest in reptiles grew as much as his love for mammals!! Originally, he liked snakes the most, ball pythons being his favorite because of how affectionate they can be but after looking more into different species he absolutely fell in love with leopard geckos!! They’re so cute and smiley to him! (Sorry I just really like ball pythons and leopard geckos hehehe!!)
♡ Gundham’s also happy to teach you about mammals and learn all about your favorite reptiles. When you got together, he started carrying around animals that he knew made you happy, just as long as they wouldn't hurt his four dark devas.
♡ He gets really attached to your reptiles after a while of taking care of them with you.
♡ “I’m going to go get some feeder mice for S/N (Snake’s Name). I’ll be back later, Gundham.”
♡ “I’ll miss you until you return my dark king/queen/ruler!” He announced as he hugged you tightly.
♡ “Hehe! I’ll be back soon, love.” You kissed him on his forehead, causing his pale white face to flush a bright red.
♡ “I love you.”
***
♡ You walk back to the door to the apartment you shared with Gundham. In one hand were your keys and in the other was a small box full of two much smaller mice. Your keys jingled in your hands as you looked for the right key for the door, which seemed to be scaring the tiny creature in the box as it started to shake rapidly in your hands. You quickly dropped your keys and held onto the other object with both hands. You bent down to pick up the keys you had dropped, not looking up as the door opened.
♡ “Welcome back, my dear!” Gundham said to you loudly, as you picked up your keys.
♡ “Hi, Gundham.” You reply, giggling at his formalities. You slowly shift into an upright position to look at him. You were about to hug him when you stopped yourself, noticing something draped upon his neck and shoulders. “Um… Why do you have S/N around your neck.”
♡ Yeah he was wearing a snake around his neck (━┳━ _ ━┳━)
♡ Oh!! The scenario reminded me: He hates when you have to feed the carnivorous animals live food. He can’t watch when it happens, it just makes him too sad. (°╭╮°) That’s partially why ball pythons stopped being his favorite.
♡Still though, he loves your talent and he loves you even more. ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊωˋ )ଓ⁾⁾

The Brothers and Side Characters Play the Sims
I don’t know what possessed me to make this but WHATEVER. I’ve been playing the Sims since I was a wee little girl, and I’ve seen my fair share of weird Sims stuff that I feel would fit these bozos perfectly.
My Sims have a Functional Family Life Because I Don’t (Lucifer)
God dammit Levi’s obsessed with another game... ugh.
Spends 5 minutes in Create-a-Sim and hops into a starter home.
Lucifer’s the type to start with all the average stuff and then build their stuff up as his sim gets promotions.
It’s just... so peaceful...
...he’s adopting a dog.
Look at his new little virtual family... his sim-kids are self sufficient and getting A’s in school, his Sim spouse MC or Diavolo take your pick loves his Sim-self, his sim-dog-
WAIT NO- THE DOG’S AN ELDER?!
AAAAAAAAAAAAA-
...
He’s fine. It was just a virtual dog. *sniffle*
He’s now spending his free time drinking Demonus and playing the Sims.
What’s a mod? Levi why does your sim have gun?
Behold, My Gorgeous Home... It’s a Box (Mammon)
Mammon, like the rest of the HOL, is mooching off of Levi’s Origin account.
“AW SHIT! This house looks awesome! I’m gonna build it for Sim-me to live in!”
Mammon proceeds to build a box with rooms. Yay...
He just picks the funnest sounding job if he picks any job at all for his Sim. That’s how he ended up making 9 dollars an hour in the criminal career.
Didn’t stop Mammon from buying that solid gold bathroom set from Get Famous... a box with solid gold bathrooms.
His Sim is broke send help-
“Leviiiiiii my sim needs money... the people my sim kidnapped and is forcing to paint aren’t making enough money...” “Ugh... press control shift C and type ‘motherlode’.”
...Levi made a mistake.
“FUCK YEAH! MOTHERLODE!”
His sim’s life is so chaotic, he has a piranha pool that his sim has almost died in twice, the sim is carrying on several torrid love affairs, his sim got struck by lightning, his sim has nearly died in a grilled cheese making accident twice... in the same day.
At least once Sim-Mammon and Sim-MC get married things calm down a little.
Mammon finds out what custom content is and proceeds to download EVERYTHING HE CAN FIND.
And now he’s asking Levi why his computer is running so slow.
Expansion Pack King (Leviathan)
He got into it back when the Sims 2 was new, he’s a veteran fan.
“Bro remember when Agnes Crumplebottom would show up and whack the shit out of your sims if they were flirting?”
“Remember when that witch would show up randomly on the lot you were on if you had Makin’ Magic?”
“Remember when Bella Goth was abducted by aliens and we just... didn’t question it?”
He whines about the Sims4 and how crappy it is but still buys every expansion pack, game pack, and stuff pack.
This boy watches like 40 hours of built tutorials and ends up sobbing over his weird roofs.
“WHY DOESN’T IT LOOK AS NICE AS THE ONE I’M LOOKING AT?! THIS ISN’T FAIR!”
The mod folder is so full istg-
Levi gets custom content for the sole purpose of making his favourite fictional characters.
This is why Henry and the Lord of Shadows are married and Ruri-chan and Sim-Levi are roommates.
Oh my god they were roommates-
Levi also added his brothers to the world and uh... Sim-Mammon died in a tragic pool accident F.
Levi then proceeded to befriend the Grim Reaper.
He’s anxiously awaiting the release of Paralives.
Wait Gameplay? In This Build Simulator? (Satan)
Satan’s here to build and leave. Gameplay who?
Our favourite bundle of rage is a master architect and the amount of followers on the Gallery he has shows it.
He takes up those build shell challenges and always ends up making them look positively perfect.
Asmo’s always using his houses, and Satan often takes requests when he gets bored.
No Mammon, he reserves the right to refuse to build a golden castle for you- YOUR SIM HAS 40 SIMOLEONS-
No mods, no CC, he’s building with what EA gave him.
...and EA gave him debug objects, and he’s not going to explain how to get them.
The one time he did actually play with a family... it was one sim and seven cats.
He tries to play without cheats... and ends up getting frustrated and turns on cheats.
All hail the Pets Expansion Pack.
Custom Content Soap Opera (Asmodeus)
Asmo spends 5 hours in Create a Sim then just... clicks out of the game.
That’s how it goes most of the time, buuuuuut when he gets super invested in a family he’s made, boy howdy is he INVESTED.
Sim A is carrying on an affair with Sim C who’s in love with Sim B who’s married to Sim A but Sim D wants to kill Sim A and C even though they’re the illegitimate child of Sim C-
When Asmo realizes that in the Sims 4 he needs to manufacture all the drama himself and he can’t just sit back with a glass of wine and watch the fireworks, he switches to the Sims 2 and 3.
“...why is this old lady beating up my Sim..?”
He immediately recoils in horror upon seeing how ugly the Sims are pre Sims4.
HE NEEDS TO FIX THIS-
Ah, there we go, perfect. Custom Content to the rescue!
He ends up remaking the entire world just so he doesn’t have to look at weird looking Sims.
Asmo is the only one to have finished a proper Legacy Challenge, but it gets crazy chaotic after gen 3.
“My sim just got abducted by aliens and now he’s pregnant- WHAT?!”
He has about 40 saves and only two he actually plays.
Just a Big Ol’ Happy Family (Beelzebub)
Beel found the game, proceeded to make everyone in create-a-sim to the best of his abilities, and made everyone get along.
That’s why Sim-Lucifer and Sim-Belphie are on a swing set together, they’re friends :D
“Hey Luke do you think you can make this?” “I-is that a cake shaped like a hamburger?” “Yes. Please make.”
He took one look at the cooking options and decided to max out his Sim’s cooking skill to unlock all the options.
Beel proceeded to drool all over his keyboard. Gross...
Boy howdy did he have some crazy dinner suggestions!
Overall, very wholesome Sim-life, except for the time Sim-Levi died because the toilet caught fire, don’t worry, Sim-Beel knows how to make ambrosia.
All is good in the Sim save...
...until Sim-Beel ate pufferfish nigiri and fuckin died-
Wait Did I Not Pause- (Belphie)
Huh, this game looks fine... I’ll play for a little- *SNORE*
Belphie makes some sims, plops them into a starter home, plays for an hour, then falls asleep.
He wakes up five hours later to absolute carnage.
Three sims have died because someone decided to make Mac and Cheese and the oven caught fire, the kids were taken away by social services, and the dog ran away.
“...heheh, holy shit everyone look.”
He doesn’t play often, but when he does, death occurs. He has found out every death method for every game from Sims 2 to 4.
And that INCLUDES the Sims Medieval! You guys remember that game?
Sometimes it’s not intentional, but Belphie got bored with the totally normal life his sims were living and decided to spice it up.
“Why are the ghosts breaking my showers..?”
Help There’s a Bug- (Diavolo)
The Crown Prince started playing when he noticed Lucifer was playing it.
He was immediately obsessed.
Dia mostly plays the Sims Medieval because he likes the feeling of achievement after completing a quest!
“Barbatos... why isn’t my Sim completing their task? The icon won’t show up.” “My lord it appears the game is bugged.” “:(“
No one thought to tell Diavolo that EA doesn’t plan on offering bug support to a game made in like... 2009
This doesn’t matter! Look at how great his kingdom is doing- oh no his hero has the plague-
He plays through the Pirates and Nobles expansion and manages to get the peaceful ending, he’s so proud of himself.
“MC! Look! My Monarch’s sword is permanently on fire and I’m fighting an evil wizard!”
When he does play the other Sims games he’s pretty basic, though, he does a great job at furnishing!
Dia gets crazy sad when his Sims die... he turns off aging.
Builder no. 2 (Barbatos)
Barbie doesn’t have time for this... but when he does, he builds.
No create a sim.
No playing the game as intended.
Just builds.
It’s relaxing, okay? A nice little suburban house he’s never going to play in, maybe a treehouse, maybe a big Hollywood Mansion...
The only time he actually plays the game outside of build mode is when someone needs his help to fix something in-game.
He does download custom content build items if he feels bored by the current selection.
Oh Crap What Am I Doing?! (Simeon)
Help him. Please.
He’s so confused.
“Luke, why is my sim upset?” “He’s hungry, Simeon.” “Oh, how do I fix that?” “...Simeon-”
There’s a toilet in the middle of the living room.
The fridge is facing the wall.
There’s no bathtub or shower.
The house is on fire- there is no god- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
Okay, once he gets the hang of it he’s sitting pretty. His sims have good jobs, the kids are getting good grades, everything’s fine.
...
But Simeon won’t forget the nightmares.
What Even is This Save? (Solomon)
Solomon’s save is the definition of chaos.
One sim’s a vampire, the other is a spellcaster that really wants to fight the Callientes for some reason, there’s one normal sim that’s always sick for some reason,
It gets weird, confusing, and horrible.
Just how Solomon likes it.
His house makes no sense, like, what even is architecture?
Money cheats are needed because Solomon‘a goal of chaos and confusion is proving to be kind of expensive.
Square up Mortimer Goth, Solomon’s sims are here to steal your weird knight statue that’s worth a shit ton of simoleons for NO REASON.
He joined the scientist career for the sole purpose of getting to the alien planet and kidnapping adding an alien to the household via cheats.
The vampire ended up dying on their wedding day because Solomon forgot that he gave them the sun weakness.
Oh well, the ghost got added to the household! VAMPIRE GHOST!
The Child (Luke)
Before you say Luke’s too young to play the Sims, you should know that I was nine when I first started playing, and I turned out fiiiiiiiiiine.
He’s just happy to be playing.
Look, his sims are gardening :D
Look, two of them are getting married :D
Look, they had a baby :D
Look, his sims are building a rocket ship :D
Look, his sims’s rocket just crashed-
The concept of death hit the little angel right in the face that day.
“*sniffle*... my sims...”
Don’t worry, with tears in his eyes, Luke quit without saving and everything was fine!
Speaking of My Sims, Luke played MySims Sky Heroes and that was when Luke had his first bout of gamer rage.
MC came over to hang out with Solomon and Simeon, and in the distance they could just hear:
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY TIME WASN’T FAST ENOUGH TO CONTINUE THE STORY!? I’LL SHOW YOU FAST ENOUGH TIME!”
Okay, maybe Simeon should take the game away... just for a bit... he should take heed not to be bitten by the incredibly angry chihuahua.
Bonus:
MC: Why are our Sims married?
*Insert Boy Here*: Uh... that’s weird... I have no clue why they’re doing that...

word count: 8625
tags: gender neutral reader, fluff, headcanons + fic, just a little bit of angst, most of this was written at various times between 1-3 am so there’s a few funny hahas in there
summary: Masumi meets the in-laws and Reader makes a new friend. Izumi is delighted at this turn of events.
Tumblr media
Izumi’s family visits backstage on the second-to-last night of Charlatan of Oz.
Ms. Tachibana is reserved, but they’re still mother and daughter. No one talks about Yukio. It’s clear to everyone Izumi is the spitting image of her dad as well as what he left behind when he disappeared.
But Ms. Tachibana still breaks into a smile, kisses Izumi on the forehead, and presents her with a bouquet of roses in orange, red and gold like a bright sunset.
(Masumi notes one of the roses, a peach bordering on pink, matches the exact shade of Izumi’s eyes. He’ll have to ask Ms. Tachibana about the species- he has a new goal to save up and buy Izumi 99 roses in the same color.)
The Director introduces her mother first, and Masumi is the first to shake her hand.
“Good evening,” he greeted. Ms. Tachibana is pudgy and warm, and her handshake is firm, but he can feel the beginnings of prominent veins that come with age. “I’m glad you could make it. Did you enjoy our show?”
“It was wonderful,” she said. “You’ve scouted some talented actors, Izumi, not to mention polite. This one respects his elders, unlike some people I know.”
“It was one time, Mom, and I was like three and barely knew what manners were. You can’t blame me for Christmas at Uncle Masahiro’s anymore.”
“What happened on Christmas at Uncle Masahiro’s?” Sakuya asked.
At the same time, Masumi said, “Thank you, Ms. Tachibana. I want to leave a good impression on my future in-laws.”
Yeah, that explained why no one answered Sakuya’s question. Itaru let out a massive “HAH” right next to Chikage’s ear, the latter alarmed but unsure whether to laugh or not.
Tsuzuru went in for the rescue and bowed. “I am so sorry for Masumi’s behavior, I don’t know what got into him. Please forgive him.”
“Oh! So that means you’re Masumi,” Ms. Tachibana said. She elbowed Izumi, whose mouth was pried into a thin, tight-lipped smile, then went to pinch Masumi’s cheeks. He fought the innate urge to shake her off. “Izumi! You didn’t tell me you had such a handsome admirer!”
“That’s a word for it,” Izumi muttered. “Don’t encourage him. Give him even the smallest crumb of hope and he’ll run with it.”
“I love your daughter,” he said. “Can I have your blessing?”
Tsuzuru made a choking noise behind Masumi, but Ms. Tachibana just laughed. “I’m afraid I’ll have to decline. Izumi is way too old for you.”
“I know, but hey,” Izumi whined, suspiciously like American comedian John Mulaney.
“But since you seem like a good boy, I have another kiddo about your age.” She looked over Masumi’s shoulder. “Reader!”
None of the Spring Troupe even noticed them enter the dressing room, save for Citron. They were looking at the prop table as the actor pointed out the cool wizard staves and a half-eaten bag of expired Fritos he found halfway during a show the other day.
Reader cocked their head and approached as Ms. Tachibana beckoned them over. “This is Reader, my youngest. You’ll have better luck with them than you will with Izumi, I can tell you that.”
“But I don’t want anyone else. I want Izumi and nothing could change my love.”
Reader’s mouth formed a big fat O. “Wait, Izu, is this the guy?”
Izumi popped the P in “Yep.”
“Oh,” they said.
Then they giggled. “Oh.”
They gave Masumi a once-over. “Ohhh,” they repeated.
There is nothing in this world that outweighs my love, Masumi thought, but if this kid doesn’t stop staring at me like I’m out of the loop, I’m gonna bash their head in with Citron’s staff.
“Hey, Izu, you tied down a good one,” they said.
“I did not.”
“I better be in the bridal party once you guys pick a date. Hear me out- beach wedding.”
“Reader,” Izumi said calmly. She wore a smile like a customer service worker on the last leg of their shift. “There is no wedding, there is nothing between us, I am single-“ Reader raised their hand to interject- “and I swear on my secret spice blend, if you take that as an opportunity to hook me up with another one of your friends’ siblings- which, by the way, is none of your business and I’m sure your friends know that as well- I’m going to strangle you.”
Reader lowered their hand.
Masumi joined them and held a hand out to Reader. “Thanks for coming to our production. Have we met? It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Masumi, Izumi’s future husband.”
Reader looked Izumi dead in the eye with the biggest shit-eating grin as they shook his hand. “The pleasure’s all mine. Treat my sister well, okay?”
Izumi buried her head in her hands.
Masumi’s on cloud nine after introducing himself to you. After all, you said you were expecting a wedding, right? How could he not be happy about that?
The Tachibanas stay in town for a few days to watch the last showing of Charlatan, then spend some time with the eldest daughter. They don’t say hello backstage, but that is… fine, actually.
He sees you once again that night for dinner at the dorms, though. You mention offhandedly you missed Izumi’s curry, and he relates to that. He’s blessed to have the perfect woman make him a perfect meal every night, and he’s glad someone else in the dorms can appreciate that, even if only on visiting hours.
The grind stops for no one. Well, it stops a little for Spring Troupe as they recuperate after Charlatan closes, but the next day Izumi is back up and at it with Summer Troupe, running through exercises like a woman on a mission.
For Masumi, though, it’s a lazy morning. All his plans today are to wake up at 12 PM (done), make some toaster waffles (done), and smoke Tsuzuru out of the room with his big-ass speakers so he can enjoy some music in peace.
He’s on his way to his room, munching on some cinnamon toast Eggos when he crosses the practice room. It’s his favorite part of the walk. He doesn’t even need to listen specifically to hear dramatic lines, Izumi’s sweet voice, and… math rock?
Lounging beside the door was Reader, a folder perched along your legs as you worked on some homework. Beside you was your phone, connected to you by earbuds in your favorite color.
You were immersed in your homework, but Masumi just had to ask. The song blasting through your earbuds was from an independent band he recently found, and he’d never met anyone else listening to it.
You feel something nudge you and you jump, but you’re relieved when you realize it’s Izumi’s loyal follower. As much as she complains about the guy, he doesn’t seem to be much of a threat to you.
The unfamiliarity is palpable as the conversation starts, but once you hear the band’s name, you’re glowing. You’ve been listening to them since their first EP, and you’ve finally got a willing audience to listen to you and why you love them so much!
You know the discography like the back of your hand, while Masumi’s a new listener, so in a lull in the conversation you skip to a new song and offer an earbud. “Hey, listen to this. Super underrated.”
He takes the earbud and sits down beside you. His arm brushes against your sleeve from close proximity. The song is sparse and dissonant. You said it was one of the most vulnerable, heartfelt pieces the band’s created, and it shows; the vocals are at a whisper and the guitar acoustic as wind effects outweigh the actual melody-
Whatever lovely trance Masumi found himself in, it was broken the second the practice room door slammed open and Kazunari strode out, Summer Troupe in tow. “Hey, it’s Massu and E-Reader! Whatcha doing out here alone?”
“Woaaaaah, look at all those papers, Reader! Were you camping out here or something?”
“I bet they were looking for triangles!”
“Wait, Masumi, were you helping Reader with homework? That’s just like the latest chapter in- eek! Actually, how about I leave now so you don’t have to deal with a third-rate third wheel like me?”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Muku. Izumi’s inside, so if you were looking for her, you came to the right place. No need to be shy.”
“Shut it, hack, did you even consider that they didn’t want to interrupt practice?”
Leave it to Summer Troupe to instantly kill the mood.
You made small talk with Summer Troupe while Masumi stuck to the sidelines, not interested in the conversation but refusing to leave without the name of that song.
By the time the actors left, you handed Masumi your phone.
Masumi checked the now playing feature on your phone, his mind reading the song title over and over again. Once he got back to his room, he’d do this track justice by listening to it beginning to end with one of his high-end headphones.
“Give me your phone number,” you said. “Please?”
He’s used to random students asking him out of the blue for his number or socials, but never one that seemed as cool as you, or at least as cool as your music taste suggested. “Why?”
You shrugged. “It’s what friends do, isn’t it?”
Hell yeah. Izumi was going to be so proud that her future husband and sibling were friends.
Masumi’s eyes were straight on the phone screen as he made a contact for you, but you couldn’t help but feel a little prideful for getting along so well with one of the most standoffish members of Mankai Company.
You return home, but you make good use of Masumi’s number. Your text threads aren’t much for conversation, but you both send links to music videos to each other.
“check out this band! [link] i saw them live last time they toured and they were amazing afskshsla”
“cool. think youd like this. [link]”
You can’t pinpoint when it started exactly, but over time you and Masumi get comfortable enough to just call each other and talk about whatever. He becomes a steady, reliable friend that never judges you for anything and always chills you out.
You come to more and more of Mankai’s shows with or without Ms. Tachibana, and always show up for two or more of Spring Troupe’s performances.
For Harugaoka Quartet, you decide to drop by backstage on opening night and congratulate everyone-
-but Masumi’s the one that ends up on the receiving end of your bouquet of flowers, all of them big and pale purple.
You say it’s to celebrate nailing the a lead role, but he can’t help but notice Citron doesn’t have a single flower from you.
Both of you spend all your time just talking as everyone decompresses from the play. Even though it’s been a while since you last saw each other, you don’t need to catch up- you guys talk so much, you already know where you’re going to college at, problems and interests, everything.
You leave late when the theater’s about to close for the night and the actors are packing up props.
You hug him goodbye, and he watches and waves you off as you leave. It’s always a bummer to see you go, but your personality always leaves a warmth that he clings onto.
“Ah-hem. Masumi?”
What? Huh? Who was that? Masumi surveyed the room, forgetting where he was. Where was he?
“Boo!”
“Gah!” Masumi recoiled as Citron grasped his shoulders from behind, a mischievous smirk on his face. Masumi’s breath hitched in his throat, but he brushed off the shock with a huff. “Don’t do that. Try it again and I’ll kill you.”
“But I called your name so many times! I was starting to get lonely.”
“Then just walk in front of me or tug on my sleeve like a normal person. Or even better, go bug Tsuzuru instead. What do you want?”
“Director wants us to check the soundboard before she locks the theater. You wouldn’t want to disappoint her, would you?”
Well, of course not. Izumi was the one that dragged Masumi into a new family and a new passion, and he respected her deeply for it, but the reverence he once reserved only for her was dwindling. Maybe he was feeling unwell?
Whatever it was, he nodded, still holding your bouquet close to his chest. They certainly weren’t his first bouquet, and every actor usually got one or two by the end of a production, but they weren’t yours. Yours were his favorite color.
Citron led him into the wings of the stage. The curtains were already drawn and the house lights gleamed through the gaps between fabric and wood.
“Reader gave you those flowers, yes?” Citron asked as they approached the tech booth.
Masumi’s grip on the bouquet tightened on instinct. “They’re mine.”
“Of course! I would never dream of taking them. But have you thought about what you will say to Reader?”
“What?”
“You are a smart boy! You know what I mean. Do what feels right to you, but I think you should say yes.”
“What?” Masumi repeated, even more lost than before.
Citron’s face fell. “Keep your kangaroos! Haven’t you noticed?”
“It’s ‘hold your horses.’ And seriously, what? I have no idea what this conversation’s about.”
“Oh,” Citron said.
Then he glanced at Masumi’s flowers and how he held them so close to his heart and held a hand to his mouth. It did nothing to cover the pitiful smile on his lips.
“Oh,” he repeated.
“If you keep staring at me like I’m out of the loop, I’m going to go to the storage room just to dig up your staff from Charlatan and beat you with it.”
“But you are out of the- do you truly not know?”
“What are you talking about,” Masumi hissed.
“It’s about how-” Citron combed through his long blond hair with his fingers as words escaped him. “Let me be blunt. Are you in love with the Director?”
“She’s the love of my life.”
“Think. Just for a moment. Why do you love her?”
“Everything about her is perfect.”
“I want specifics, Masumi.”
“She is…”
Masumi’s mouth went dry. Of all the times when someone was actually interested in his love life, why did it have to be the one time he couldn’t drum up unconditional love?
Think, Masumi. She was pretty. That was the first thing he noticed about Izumi, and what drew him to her, but he wasn’t so shallow he would fall in love just because of looks. He couldn’t say that.
Her curry? Masumi loved her curry. Sometimes he would wake up and think, Day 482 of eating curry for at least one meal. I haven’t gotten jaundice yet. It was delicious and enough to make Gordon Ramsay cry tears of joy if he were real, but again, not something to fall head over heels over, even if he’d willingly eat it for the rest of his life. He couldn’t say that either.
But Citron was still watching him owlishly, curling a lock of hair through his finger and expecting an answer.
“Izumi was the one that gave me a chance,” he settled on. “She was the first person that taught me how to care for people other than myself.”
“That is very sweet,” Citron said.
But he didn’t say anything else. Masumi wondered if he was unsatisfied.
“She also showed me how to act. I found something to dedicate myself to.”
“Yes, yes, I see that.”
A lull in the conversation. Citron licked his hand and went back to combing.
“Did you just spit in your hair?”
“It breaks down the hairspray.”
“That is disgusting. Just, so gross on so many levels.”
“It’s- how do you say?” Citron asked as though he indeed knew how one would say. “Whatever!”
“So are you done interrogating me now or can we work on the soundboard already- wait.” Masumi looked around. They stopped walking a while ago, but never registered where exactly in the theater he was. “The soundboard’s on stage left.”
Citron ignored him. “Say, Reader is pretty neat.”
“Yeah, they are. They’re great at listening and so easy to talk to. We’re going to go to a small club gig for a progressive indie rock duo I showed them a while ago in a few weeks and I can’t wait to see them again,” Masumi said.
Citron covered his mouth again, this time to hide a laugh. “Very cool, Masumi.”
“Seriously, why are you acting like you know something I don’t?”
“I do.”
“Then tell me already.”
“No, no, I think it’s your realization to have.”
“Are you kidding me? I’m fine, Citron. if you have something to say about me or the people close to me, then just say it instead of being vague. Do you really think- are you braiding your hair?”
“It leaves very nice waves overnight,” Citron said, halfway through a smooth side braid. The spit, unfortunately, must’ve worked.
“Seriously, you dragged me out to skip on a favor for the Director, talk trash about my beloved and my friend, and keep expecting me to know something you’re just refusing to tell me. What’s your point? If you wanted to know about my life, you could’ve just asked instead of this roundabout conversation. I mean, I talk to Reader all the time, I thought you would’ve known already how close we are-“
Masumi shut his mouth. He blinked. Blinked again. Clicked his tongue like he was about to say something else, but no words came out, and he instead decided to purse his lips like he just ate something sour.
And Citron, ever the enabler, paused his braiding just to watch his junior go through a full slideshow of faces.
Masumi spent a long period of time sticking his tongue in his cheek and staring off into the curtains, lost in thought. Citron had half a mind to make some popcorn, but instead enjoyed the silence. Thinking was a good look for Masumi.
“Oh,” Masumi finally said.
“Just ‘oh?’”
“Shut up. This is serious.” Masumi made a very uncharacteristic groan and pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’m so stupid.”
“Not stupid,” Citron said. “Just inexperienced. You’ll get there in time.”
“But I wasted a whole year. What do I do? I’ve never felt this way before.”
“How a door bull!”
“It is not adorable,” Masumi retorted. He covered his face with the bouquet. Violets, his favorite. Dammit, you even remembered that offhand comment from months ago. You were such a good listener. “I- I don’t know. If the Director wasn’t love, then what does that make Reader?”
“If I may? Attraction gives way to love, but love at fistfight isn’t common. You don’t need to make a decision right away. Time will tell.”
“It’s called l-love at first sight. And I don’t want to wait.”
“There is sweetness in taking it slow. No one will judge you for being uncertain as long as you don’t play with emotions.” Citron ruffled Masumi’s hair, the latter too dazed to protest. “And I doubt you would! You’re very genuine.”
“How do you even know all this stuff?”
“I may have never carried a torch for anyone, but everyone carries a torch for me,” he boasted.
“You’re useless,” Masumi deadpanned, hoping it would hide how his heart felt so small and soft. “I’m leaving. I’m not talking to you about this again.”
As he stalked off, Citron called out, “Good luck with your fart puddles!”
“It’s ‘heart troubles!’ Say that again and you’re dead!”
Masumi in love- maybe? He’s not sure what to call it; what he felt for Izumi was real, but the way he sees you is different. All the bravado he had proclaiming his crush on Izumi goes out the window for you.
He likes you, he can admit that to himself, but it’s something he wants to keep a secret to himself for now. It’s nice. He used to think that love was preformative and grandiose and the bigger, the better, but now it’s soft and subtle with him, and he can’t stop thinking about how he wishes you were here.
(Masumi hates to admit it, but maybe Itaru was onto something when he said the best kind of love was unrequited.)
He places your violets on his desk right where the sun hits and asks Tsumugi how to preserve them as long as possible. He checks on them every morning and evening without fail, and can’t help but think of how light he felt when you gave them to him.
Only a day has passed,  but he misses you. He scans the audience for you, and when he can’t find you he busies himself with tidying up backstage after the play and hoping you’d come by again.
It’s natural you wouldn’t go to each and every performance. You were busy, and Mankai productions usually lasted a week or more. It’s understandable. But even though he gets it, he’s still the first to enter the theater and last to leave on performance days, and as much as he tries to hide his disappointment, he notices Citron give him sympathetic looks every time his hopes of seeing you again are dashed.
Three days into the week Masumi gets a text from you, wishing him a broken leg tonight. That must mean you’re watching tonight, right? He has to prepare something for you, and he’s excited.
Sure enough, look at seat 4-27 and there you are.
Masumi sees you from behind the curtain ten minutes before showtime. Nervous energy rushes to his head, but a Spring Troupe pre-show huddle steels his nerves and he gives a performance of a lifetime, definitely his best run of the play yet as he’s fully immersed in the world of Harugaoka.
The focus ebbs once he sees you in the audience during the curtain call. He’s a bundle of nerves as Spring Troupe returns backstage, but when he sees you smile and congratulate him again, it all melts away.
There’s no way he doesn’t like you. You’re infectious. He finds himself laughing with you far more than anyone else, and he trusts you beyond words.
You shrugged on your jacket as you got ready to leave again, but Masumi tugged on your arm. “Hey. Before you go.”
“Huh? What’s up-” You turned to face him and caught a big whiff of lavender. Masumi clutched a small bundle of flowers, tall licks of purple buds tied with a twine bow.
“It’s for you.” He scratched his neck with his free hand. “For the flowers last time. Thank you.”
“Oh! No no no, thank you. They smell wonderful.”
“Yeah. I need to tell you something important.” Even just saying that made Masumi’s inner voice recoil and cringe. What a childish way to go about it.
But you perked up, scanned the room, and waved your hand to your sister. “Izu! I’m borrowing Masumi!” You shouted.
Izumi shouted back, “Have him home by midnight!”
“Done deal!” You grabbed Masumi’s hand. “Hey, let’s go outside.”
“Okay,” he said, eyes boring holes into your intertwined hands. Your hand was so soft, and the fingers fit between his knuckles like puzzle pieces. He must’ve been distracted- how else would he explain not remembering the walk at all?
You dragged him to an ice cream parlor a block down from the theater, grabbed one cone for you and a cup for Masumi (“My treat,” you insisted even as Masumi opened his wallet), and plopped yourself across from him in a corner table for two.
“So.” You licked your ice cream. “What’s going on?”
Masumi dug his spoon into his Dutch Chocolate. “I don’t like Izumi anymore.” You hummed and nodded in acknowledgement, and a quiet urge for him to continue. “It’s hard to explain. She was the first person to make me feel like that.” He paused to sink his teeth into a spoonful. “But it was a lot. It didn’t feel real in hindsight.”
You hummed again, this time while swallowing. “I get that. Feelings come and go.”
“I think I was projecting.”
“Mhm?”
“I got so caught up in someone caring about me for the first time that I thought there was no other explanation but love.” Right. You knew about Masumi’s life and the loneliness that came with it, but it still stung to know he was still grappling with the past. “So I just acted like what everyone says love is. I don’t think it was love. A crush, maybe, but not love.” Not love like this. Not like how you’re the only person I could be truly vulnerable around.
He swallowed a spoonful of his ice cream. His cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk as he ate. “So yeah,” he said dismissively, like it wasn’t a huge weight off his chest.
You licked a drop of melting ice cream off your cone, and lowered it to give your best friend your full attention. “Can I be real for a second? That’s great to hear. Changing feelings means you’re growing.”
“You say that like I grew an inch taller,” he quipped.
“It’s still important, though. You learn something new about yourself after every failed relationship or crush, so I’ve heard. Makes you mature or something.”
“So you’re not mad?”
Your face fell. “What? Of course not, why would I be mad?”
“It was your sister. I didn’t want to hurt her.”
“Ohhh.” You relaxed. “She’s tough, and she gets business relationships. I’m sure she’ll get over it.”
“I hope so.”
Masumi’s spoon scraped against the wall of his cup. You weaved a sprig of lavender behind your ear.
“Got any other suitors on the horizon?” You joked.
You. I feel for you. I missed you. I want to be here with you. I wish I could tell you how I feel.
Masumi suddenly stilled. He could tell you how he felt.
After all, you’re alone in an ice cream parlor together. He gave you flowers. He trusted you. You listened to him. The stalk of lavender brushed against your hair and pointed to your eyes, tender and attentive, and the scent was coaxing him to get closer. I want to tell you how I feel.
Citron saw the signs before Masumi himself could, and told him to say yes, yes, yes. He must’ve seen it realistically working out. And you could never look down on him, you were too kind and considerate. Every bone in his body said yes, yes, yes.
“No,” Masumi said. “I’m enjoying the single life.”
“You sound like a regular bachelor,” you teased.
Don’t rock the boat. Don’t ask for more than you deserve.
Masumi shoved his heart into a bottle and let it lie there as he took the safe route.
Masumi led you out of the parlor and into the night streets together. When you were talking about a new movie you saw the other day, you went to grab his hand, and his fingers laced between yours. He escorted you to the train station, made sure you knew your route, and left after the train did, just like a true gentleman.
Then he walked home alone. He knew Veludo Way like the back of his hand, and passed by the bright signs and neon lights. His headphones canceled out the noise of street acts and the lively city as he continued back to the Mankai dorms, but no song played.
He stepped through the doors at 11:43, and Izumi welcomed him back and thanked him for being on time. Tsuzuru was halfway through a bowl of tomato basil soup Masumi could’ve sworn was labeled “taichi’s - DO NOT STEAL!!” and wondered aloud where he was. Citron asked how it went.
The youngest of Spring answered them all with a simple hand wave and “It’s fine,” and didn’t stop walking until he got to his room.
He closed the door, but didn’t flick the light on. He stood there in the dark, headphones blocking out the world for a moment, moonlight shining through the blinds and on the floor.
Masumi buried his face in his hands.
Masumi Usui does not cry. It’s not an issue of vulnerability, but just a part of him. He didn’t cry when his parents ignored him growing up. He didn’t cry when they announced their divorce, or finalized it, or during any of the arguments that led up to it. And though it stung and burned and felt like a paper ripped apart, he didn’t cry as he anticipated his flight from his found family in Mankai to America, not even when all the actors, his grandmother, and one hellbent director came to his rescue at the very last minute.
But something about laying here in his bed like a dead fish, hiding from the world underneath a blanket and squinting as he anticipated tears that would not come, only made it more miserable.
The light turned on, piercing through his barrier of blankets and searing his retinas, and he quietly sucked in air like a hiss.
“Masumi?” That must be Tsuzuru. His sneakers squeaked against the floorboards as the door closed.
Masumi grunted from the pile of blankets.
“Are you okay?” Tsuzuru asked. As the silence stretched on, he added, “Citron wanted me to make sure.”
“Citron can mind his own damn business.”
“You know as well as I do he’s trying to look out for you.”
“Doesn’t matter.” He rolled over and pressed his nose down into his pillow. “Do you ever just have something you want in your grasp but every time you try and make a move for them you always wuss out and it never goes anywhere?”
Ohhh, it’s that kind of conversation. Tsuzuru pursed his lips. This was sounding an awful lot like the impromptu intervention he and Spring Troupe held when his heart broke just before Romeo and Julius, and he had half a mind to fetch Sakuya, but it was late and Masumi definitely didn’t need to be alone right now.
And, well, geez. Masumi just said more in one breath than he did in full conversations. Tsuzuru couldn’t just leave him without feeling like a monster, even if he had good intentions,
Tsuzuru climbed the ladder to his bed, and sat against the wall, not quite next to Masumi but not at the far end of the room, either. “All the time, actually. It’s a common feeling.”
“It still sucks.”
“Yeah, it does.”
The pile of blankets rose and fell in time with Masumi’s silent breathing. Tsuzuru distracted himself with a pen he found in his pocket. He clicked it once, twice, and three times to expose the nib.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked.
“No.”
Even with seven younger brothers, comforting never got easier. Tsuzuru dragged the pen along his wrist, leaving a spotty black line along his veins. The line made hard turns and corners as Tsuzuru doodled, and formed a geometric pattern. The blanket monster steadied its breath. “I mean, not about it. But talking is okay.”
“Okay. I can get that.” The ink lulled as Tsuzuru thought up a story, anything to take the pressure off Masumi. “I wasn’t lying when I said it’s a common feeling. It happens to people all the time. When I was your age, I had the opportunity all throughout my school career to join a drama club, but I never got around to it.”
“You’re only two years older than me,” Masumi grumbled.
“It still counts! The point is, I always had a reason not to join every time I really considered auditioning, but they weren’t actual dealbreakers. I could’ve made the time to go to rehearsals and balance it with the rest of my life, but I never did, and I knew my excuses were bull even when I was still in school. I’m grateful I found my place with Mankai Company, but I still wonder how different I would’ve been if I just joined the club.”
The room was eerily quiet. Masumi wasn’t protesting, so Tsuzuru assumed he was on the correct route. “But I’m still here, right? I can’t imagine myself acting anywhere else, so I like to think that the stage is where I’m supposed to be, even if I didn’t get a head start with club activities. I regret avoiding the club, sure, but if I had the choice to start over and audition while I was still in school, I don’t think I would take it.
“Even when you hesitate, you learn something new about yourself, or the world around you. I think avoiding theatre for so long only cemented how much I wanted it in my future, and in the long run? I’m still an actor. And I’m still a scriptwriter. I might’ve chickened out, sure, but my regret is one of the reasons why I’m so determined to help Mankai bloom.”
The blankets grunted in acknowledgement, and parted to reveal Masumi’s head, still face-down in his pillow. He held them close to his body like a security measure. “But I feel helpless.”
“But you’re still in control of yourself, aren’t you? You get to decide what to do.” The bedding around Tsuzuru crinkled as he stretched out. “I don’t know your situation, but whatever you decide on, it’ll still teach you something about yourself, and let you improve yourself.”
“I guess.” Masumi rolled over and clasped his hands over his face. “Reader is just- they’re not perfect, but they’re perfect for me. I feel so comfortable around them. So why can’t I just be honest with them?”
“Wait, hold on.” Tsuzuru, who spent the last few minutes staring at the wall as he talked or drawing on his arm, snapped to look at his roommate. His face colored underneath the cracks of his fingers. “I’m going to be frank. Are you trying to ask Reader out?”
Masumi shot up like a cobra. His hair was disheveled and his blush still apparent, but he looked at Tsuzuru like he casually suggested they should eat a baby, or that a clothing line made of sandpaper was a good idea. “You trying to take them away from me, Minagi?”
“What? No! No way!” Tsuzuru smacked his hands over Masumi’s shoulders. “Everything I just said was important and good advice, but trust me this time. Ignore everything I just said and ask them out. I promise it’s going to work out.”
Masumi gave him a once-over. “You are the last person I want to hear love advice from.”
“Promise on my life. Actually, scratch that, I promise on my laptop and all my backup data. It’ll work out, I swear.”
“Why?”
Tsuzuru stared at the ceiling. “Uhh… It’s not my place to say. But it’s fine. It’ll all be fine. I’ve got your back.” He ruffled Masumi’s hair.
“Try that again and I’ll spoon your eyeballs out.” Masumi said this darkly, but he didn’t move to shake Tsuzuru off, and when his roommate climbed back down the ladder to finish Taichi’s soup, he wrapped the biggest of the blankets back around his shoulders. It enveloped him in down as he struggled to shake off the way his heart was still fluttering.
He had a lot to think about.
Something about that night in the ice cream parlor awakened something in Masumi. Ever since his crush first sprouted, he wanted you to be happy, and that wish never changed.
But he wants to be true to himself, and regarding that, true to you. You were a welcome interruption to the life of acting he was getting used to. He found himself checking your text history together, theorizing your next visit to Veludo Way despite you never uttering a word.
The feeling is strange now. He misses you, and the time you spend together is treasured, but he worries he’s growing too attached to you, like when he was head over heels for Izumi.
It’s because of this that he really decides that he needs to tell you how he feels. Not over-the-top or superfluous like how he handled it with Izumi- he does this on his own terms or not at all.
But there’s still a fear. Not about whether you’ll reciprocate- he’d love to date you but at this point it’s more about being honest to you than being your boyfriend, though he really wouldn’t complain with the latter- but he’s afraid of losing control of himself. He doesn’t want to treat you as a second Izumi.
After all, you’re his dear Reader. Not Izumi. He cherishes everything that makes you unique, and you deserve to be treated as no one else but yourself.
A night at the theater passes. Backstage, Masumi checks his phone in case you decide to come, and doesn’t notice Citron poking his head through the curtain and searching for you.
“Have you decided what to do?” Tsuzuru casually asked one night as the troupe was striking the set, and he and Masumi were carrying a box of props.
“Piss off. It’s none of…” He trailed off as he remembered their conversation the other night. Tsuzuru looked unfazed. “Sorry. Yeah. I’ll do it after closing night.”
Tsuzuru walks off, seemingly satisfied. It wasn’t really a lie, but his plans were far off in the future, and not in two days like the scriptwriter assumed. He couldn’t afford mixing two of the most important things in his life like that.
Saturday, the night before Harugaoka Quartet’s final performance. Masumi was already tucked into bed and checking his Reddit feed for the last time before he fell asleep when his phone vibrated with a text from one of the few people that could override his phone’s Do Not Disturb mode.
“break a leg tomorrow! clear your schedule after the play, i’m kidnapping you for the night”
Whatever drowsiness Masumi was feeling dies in a single shot as he snaps to attention. He’s already typing out a response when he sees the three dots appear on your end of the text app.
“i have something to talk to you abt tomorrow”
And before he can even think of a response to that one-
“FKJFKLAD it isn’t as intense as whatever you’re thinking”
“don’t worry about it”
“it’s not important”
The dots appear again, but it takes more time for Reader to respond this time. “you know how i got an apartment in veludo for yosei uni next term? i’ll show you around my place”
That seems to be the end of Reader’s multitext, and Masumi can’t help but smile as he responds. “k. ill let you know when im free.”
Closing night is a whirlwind, and by the time you pick Masumi up, his adrenaline has died down but the nervous excitement from a show still remains, or maybe that’s just the effect you have on him these days.
But the point is, it’s probably why he was so direct.
“What did you want to talk to me about?” Masumi asked.
The neon lights outside rolled along slowly. It was getting late, but traffic was just starting to let up and keep the car’s momentum going. Saturated magenta from a late-night pub sign across the street flashed across the steering wheel and your knuckles.
Green colored your eyes, and the car sped up as you left the block.
“I didn’t expect you to remember that,” you observed.
“You mentioned it.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t think it would be memorable.”
“It was you. You literally texted me that directly.”
“I’m not exactly the most memorable person.”
“Well, I remembered,” Masumi said with an air of finality.
You didn’t respond as the car followed a curve on the road, and he took the victory in stride. Then he realized how desperate he sounded. He looked out the window, watching the orange construction reflectors by the side of the road bounce light into the car and onto his embarrassed face in the glass.
That managed to shut him up for not even half a minute. “Seriously. What were you going to say?”
In the time it took for him to recover, you were already pulling into a parking lot. “Lemme show you my apartment first. I’ll get you some snacks and then I’ll explain, alright?”
“Alright,” he said.
But on the elevator, he continued. “You’re acting weird, though.”
“Ouch. I’m almost offended.” You grabbed his hand and led him down the hall as you deadpanned. “I guess you’re right, as much as I hate to admit it.”
“Are you okay?”
“I guess? It’s more of an ‘us’ thing?”
You stuck a key into your door. It swung open, an invitation into your abode. “That’s not exactly confidence-inspiring.”
“Who said I was confident?” The door opened, and you welcomed Masumi into the kitchen. “I’ll get you some hot Cheetos. I got the ones with lime.”
You turned the corner and ducked into a nondescript room. The actor might not know the layout of your apartment, but he was pretty certain that wasn’t your pantry.
Well, at least your apartment was cool. Like every student’s first time living alone, the hallways outside were dingy and the wall damage was unfortunate, but you already started decorating, and traces of you were left around the open area between the kitchen and the living room- a CD here, your chapstick there. A flowery scent permeated the air.
He scanned through your kitchen, from the refrigerator whiteboard reminders to the reusable cups in the drying rack, but his survey was cut short. In the corner of the kitchen counter was the lavender he gave you, poking out of a small glass cup tied with the twine he attached to the original bouquet.
The flowers hadn’t lost their color yet, and the stems stood strong, insisting they would last longer. No wonder why your apartment smelled so nice.
“Isn’t it crazy they’re still alive? I’m not much of a green thumb, so I’m surprised how hardy they are.” Masumi jumped at your voice. You had quietly entered the kitchen and spoke up without him noticing, then opened the door to the pantry and brought out two bags of chips. “Here. I might just be thinking of Autumn’s plays, but I’ve heard acting burns a surprising amount of calories.”
“Thanks.” He took a seat across the counter and in a living space with an L-shaped couch. “Nice place.”
You finally looked at Masumi directly, and brushed a stray lock of hair out of your face. “Oh. Thank you. I’ve been working on making it presentable for a few weeks now.”
“It suits you. You did a good job.”
“Thanks.”
“Are you stalling?”
“Just my luck you’d figure it out. Yeah, I am.” You ripped open a bag of Doritos and slumped over the couch. You were right next to Masumi, your arm against his while your head lounged on his shoulder.
“You know you can tell me anything.”
“Yeah, I know. It’s one of those things that’s hard for me to admit to myself, though.” You shut your eyes, as though it would make it any easier. Masumi felt like he was going crazy. You begun to speak, slowly and erratically as you pieced the words together like a puzzle. “Do you think something’s changed between us?”
Masumi’s heart sunk. “What?”
“It’s weird. I don’t know how to describe it, but I feel like we aren’t really just friends, you know?”
“Oh.” He stared into his bag of chips, focused on the folds of cellophane and the dark corners, anything to avoid looking at you. “I’m sorry. I’ll stop talking to you if you want.”
“What? No! That’s not what I meant at all!” You pressed a hand to your head. “Oh, I really messed that one up. I mean, you’re very close to me. I wouldn’t ruin that for the world. I just don’t think ‘friends’ is the word to call us anymore.”
“So we’re more than friends?”
“Yeah. More than friends.”
Masumi nodded with understanding and crunched on a Cheeto. “So we’re best friends.”
“Oh, come on, Masumi,” you groaned and wrapped a hand around Masumi’s cheek. “You’re smart. I think you can figure out what I’m trying to say.”
The actor felt like he was drowning. You were no stranger to casual touching among your friends like Masumi, but even this was pushing it. How was he supposed to keep a cool head while his cheeks were growing warm and here was no way you wouldn’t notice-
Then it all clicked together.
“Reader,” Masumi said. “Do you like me?”
You tensed.
“Because I like you,” he said.
The room was so still.
“A lot, actually.”
Now or never.
“It was hard figuring out everything, and I don’t want to cause any trouble for you, but you should know. I think the world of you and it felt wrong to ignore that, but I don’t want you to think I’m saying this for something in return. I just wanted you to know.”
The words spilled out of his mouth, but he couldn’t find the urge to regret any of it. Everything was true.
“You don’t have to say it back, though. I’m fine where we are, and if you think that’s weird or want to stop being friends, then…” He trailed off. “Then that’s okay.”
“But it’s not,” you said. “It’s not okay. I mean- I feel the same.”
“You like me?’
“You gonna make me say it twice?” Your head lolled further and you looked up at Masumi. As red as he was with your hand along his jawline, you were sure you were even redder. “Yeah. I do.”
“You mean that?”
You drew him forward and kissed him.
You were too caught up in the moment to remember that you’ve never really kissed anyone before, not like this, and the inexperience must be mutual, but Masumi’s hands were on you, feeling your hair and running down your neck and against your chest, and his breath hitched when you pulled him to pin you down, and you relished in it, utterly spellbound.
Your lips slid off his, and rested against his cheek, out of breath but not quite ready to part. “I mean it,” you whispered. “I- I like you too…”
Masumi’s voice was muffled as he rested on your shoulder. “You kissed me but you’re shy about saying that?”
“Oh my god, shut up.”
To his credit, he did. He dove back into your arms, taking the initiative this time, and whatever protests you had died on your lips while your thoughts were only Usui, Usui, Usui.
❖ bonus ❖
“I should probably hang up soon,” you said. “I’m going to the gig soon.”
You laced up your concert boots (well-worn and well-loved, and steel-toed to protect your feet from moshers and dancers), your phone pinned between your ear and shoulder as your sister talked over the phone. “Riiiight. I forgot you were going to a concert-“
“It’s not a concert, Izu,” you shot back. “Concerts are stadium-sized events. This one is just at a small bar venue, so it’s a gig.”
“Same thing. I think he already told you, but Masumi’s on the way to your apartment.”
“I heard. I’ve got a date.”
“Since when did you get a date? Did you tell Masumi?” Izumi sounded worried. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m proud of you and I want to know everything when you get the chance, but I thought it was just going to be the two of you.”
“Yep, just the two of us.”
“But what about your date? Are you meeting them at the venue? That’s not exactly romantic, or considerate- HHOOOUUUGGGHHH.” Izumi gasped.
“Wow, you sound like a broken air mattress.”
“Reader,” Izumi squeaked, holding onto her breath. “Are you dating Masumi?”
You held the phone away from your ear, fully expecting the loudest noise you’d ever hear on the other end of the line. “Uh, yeah?”
……
………
Oh. That was disappointing.
You brought the phone back to your ear as Izumi continued, not at all shocked but relieved. “Oh, that’s good. Congratulations! It’s been a long time coming.”
“Thanks. I’m really glad you- wait, what do you mean, ‘long time coming?’”
“You haven’t noticed yet? Almost everyone in Mankai saw it coming.”
You stood to your full height just to glare at a wall. “Seriously? That is so immature.”
“You would too, don’t even lie. If you keep trying to set me up with people, then I reserve the right to tease you over your relationships. I so called it.”
“You are ridiculous. I hate you and I’m going to cut up all your stupid striped T-shirts. How did you even figure it out?”
“You’re kidding me. How do you not?” Izumi laughed. “The second Masumi stopped following me around on his free days, I figured something was up. He’s not very good at hiding his feelings.”
“No, he isn’t! I had to egg him on so he would confess before me.”
“Wait, what? What happened?”
You recounted the beginning of your relationship, without all the raunchy details, and realized Izumi was quietly echoing everything you said. “Are you writing things down?”
“I have a duty to know. There’s a massive betting pool on you two.”
“See?! Ridiculous! That’s so obnoxious!”
“Don’t worry, it’s a community pot. You said he confessed first, so that’s some points for just about everyone in Winter Troupe, Sakyo, Kazunari and Sakuya.”
“Even Sakuya’s in on this?”
“Spring wants to see their boy winning,” Izumi said matter-of-factly. “Hey, did you offer him any Takis? Chikage was certain you’d offer him Takis right before you became an item.”
“Nope, Cheetos. The hot lime kind.”
“They’re basically the same thing.”
“No, they aren’t. He says Takis are too spicy.”
“But the hot lime Cheetos are spicier than Takis.”
“No, they aren’t.”
“I’ll just say they were Takis. If Chikage got that one right, Itaru has to pay him in gift cards from his whaling stash, and I’m kind of miffed at him for eating a whole jar of guacamole in one night.”
“In one night? But he’s built like a curtain rod, how can he physically do that? Better question, what’s Chikage going to do with a bunch of iTunes cards?”
“I heard he was going to get Minecraft, but if you ask me, I think it’s about the principle of the matter.”
“It has to be. Pocket Edition sucks.”
A knock on the door interrupted your conversation. “Speak of the devil, he’s here. I’ll talk to you soon.”
“Noooo, Reader! I need to know if there was a love letter involved! My salary versus Homare’s pocket change is at stake here!”
“It can wait until tomorrow!” You abandoned the phone on the counter and opened the door. “Hey, babe.” He pecked you on the cheek in greeting.
Meanwhile, Izumi was still yelling on the phone. “Is that Masumi? Give him the phone, I need to do a shovel talk.”
You hung up without a care in the world, and turned to your boyfriend. “Sorry about that, Izu called. Did you know Mankai has a betting ring about us?”
He sniffed. “I overheard Tenma talking about it the other day. I thought it was a joke.”
“You thought wrong. Itaru’s in for a world of pain.” You locked the door behind you, adjusted your T-shirt, and brushed Masumi’s knuckles with your own. “Ready to go?”
“Always.” He held your hand as you began to walk together. 🎧

Why do you think muggleborns "exit Hogwarts to find 0 opportunities"? I've read your thoughts on Tom (~ no way he actually wanted to work in customer service, etc) but Lily? Yes, in canon she and James used the Potters money to live off & help the Order, but. Or is it more your headcanon because it makes sense in a pureblood supremacy society? I think it's fitting but I'd like to know if there's smth I missed... (do you think the same happen to hermione after? or is she too famous?..)
Oh, oh ho, no pretty much nothing on this blog comes directly from canon.
It is, at best, things you can infer about canon if you tilt your head and look at it from all the right angles that JKR intended you to look at it.
So, as far as canon is concerned, this never came up. We know muggleborns are looked down upon by your general pureblood wizard, we know muggles are even more so, but Harry’s world is a very small one and it’s never implied that muggleborns have issues securing employment outside of Hogwarts.
Dumbledore tells Harry that Tom ends up a clerk because he wanted to, because he likes dark shiny things. This is despite this having at least been Tom’s second choice in career, something that doesn’t really grant him any power over anyone, and, well, something he doesn’t appear to enjoy in the memories shown to us. But Dumbledore has a boy to convince to kill himself for the greater good and explaining, “And then Tom Riddle, the top scoring student in decades, barely managed to secure employment because of his blood status” makes Tom look less evil. No, all the shitty things that happen to Tom are things he intends to happen! What an evil mastermind!
But yes, for Tom specifically, Dumbledore makes it seem as if Tom specifically worked at Borgin and Burkes because he somehow knew about the sale of the locket. I highly doubt this on every level. I think it made for a nice story that Dumbledore could tell Harry and may even believe himself. Dumbledore, after all, is the kind of guy who thought it made him look fantastic to pretend to light an impoverished muggleborn orphan’s wardrobe and all his worldly possessions on fire to teach him a lesson. HE SURE SHOWED HIM!
The fact that Tom Riddle, who was actively shmoozing Slughorn for years, who supposedly had all these pureblood friends, who had record breaking exam scores, was prefect then head boy, etc. cannot get his foot in the door of the ministry or seemingly anywhere... That’s very very very damning evidence to me.
It also is evidence that makes a lot of sense to me.
The Wizarding World has a hilariously small population. Take Harry’s Hogwarts class size. There are what? About seven kids in each house in his year? Let’s round that up to an even ten. That means at any given time in Hogwarts you have about 280 children. This, even, seems very generous as it seems the important wizarding families don’t have children all that often (once in a generation) and that there might be at most two or three muggleborns in a given year. Hogwarts seems to be Great Britain (as well as Ireland’s) not only premier magical institution but only magical institution.
This seems comparable given that the other major schools we know of cover multiple populous countries in Europe. Beaux Batons, from what we can tell, seems to be the major school for Western Europe. Ilvermory covers the entire United States. Durmstrang all of Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
I cannot emphasize how small of a population size the wizarding world must be with these numbers. Forget the size of a small country, forget the size of a large city, the wizarding world is approximately the size of a very very very small town.
This is why everyone knows each other, their major shopping district is essentially a single street, their ‘bad side of town’ is a corner on a street, etc. There are maybe a couple thousand people in the wizarding world. This is nothing.
Now, given that, it becomes clear that there just aren’t that many businesses/ventures for gainful employment around. The Weasley twins make their own business, Charlie actually goes to Romania to become a lumberjack er dragon raiser, Bill goes to work for essentially a foreign nation with the goblins. There’s one newspaper and one tabloid that really feels like a newspaper made out of Luna Lovegood’s garage. There’s a series of quidditch teams that feel like it must consist of half the population. Everyone else, if they have jobs at all and aren’t simply rolling in money and being good old lords, works for the ministry.
Now, the ministry is huge, overbloated, and a mess. Arthur’s department, for example, should not exist. How is “Misuse of Muggle Artifacts” such an overwhelmingly large problem that it cannot possibly be absorbed by another department? What this means is I suspect the ministry a) is filled with joke departments nobody needs just to provide jobs b) is filled with coveted career positions c) even if you overbloat the ministry there’s only so many jobs.
Given the world they live in, given the prejudice against muggleborns, do you really think the ministry is going to waste a spot on someone with the last name of Riddle or Evans? Are they really not, instead, going to give that open position to family or friends? The wizarding world feels as if it is made of rank nepotism (Slughorn’s existence even kind of confirms that). Slughorn is so influential because he gets you these networking connections you desperately need. You think Tom enjoys shmoozy cocktail parties with these assholes? You think Lily does? Please, it’s because everyone needs this. The Wizarding World is built on top of who you know.
And, of course, your last name.
Although canon never implies that Lily was anything other than happy to be married to James immediately, have a child, and not work I feel that we’re never given a job for her is very damning evidence. Lily was the most brilliant witch (well probably magic user but I’ll play nice with canon here) of her entire generation, and she either chooses not to get a job or given the above seemingly cannot do so.
I imagine many muggleborns face this bitter reality when they exit Hogwarts. The world is tiny and all jobs go to friends and relatives. Hogwarts was this insular, isolated, dream that made them think they can make it out there.
They can’t.
Even Muggle Studies seems to go to purebloods and the man heading “Misuse of Muggle Artifacts” is a pureblood jackass.
As for Hermione, I think she got very lucky and never realized it. In part because the population is so small, and those who were in power got tied up on Voldemort and thus screwed over because of him, things got very shaken up. More, Hermione by being Harry’s best friend and aiding his quest is a national hero. She gets the leg up she never knew she needed to enter the ministry and earn a very high ranking position very quickly as nearly every occupied position is suddenly vacant from the cleaning house.
Now, Hermione will tell you she earned this herself. That she simply worked harder than everyone else. But she’ll likely never realize that thanks mostly due to her friendship with Harry, as well as being in the right place at the right time, she has the opportunity to do what no one else in her situation could.
But that’s Hermione for you.

Summary: After touching one of Captain Yami’s most prized possessions, Y/N finds herself on thin ice.

————•————•————•————•————•————•————•————
Captain Yami was out with the other members of the Black Bulls upon request of the Wizard King. Today you weren’t needed, because you visited him a couple days prior about the new mission. While you could’ve gone anyway, this was a good time to catch up on some well needed cleaning. You dusted, moved someone’s random pair of shorts, and threw away an oddly immense amount of trash. You got to the split corridor and took a little detour down the men’s living quarters. You’ve only been down there a couple times, but curiosity was getting the best of you.
There was no denying that you enjoyed looking at your captain and often wondered how he would feel on top of you, but because of the dynamic you two shared it made it almost impossible to express how you felt. Since you’d joined the Black Bulls, it’s always felt deeply inappropriate how hot this man made you with only a couple words or a pat on the back. It was even worse when you two would train alone, away from the others. Maybe your little flirts weren’t enough for him to catch on or possibly he was simply ignoring your advances.
As you passed Yami’s bedroom it took everything in you not to look at his door. You walked a little further, but quickly turned on your heel to walk back towards his room.
“Hm, I don’t know if I… no…” You contemplated intruding while your hand remained on the doorknob.
“Fine.” You opened the door.
It was… normal? A small pile of clothes and an unmade bed but nothing out of the ordinary. You did notice though, a shimmer from across the room. After quickly shutting the door, you made your way to the glimmering object to find a brand new katana placed against his nightstand. You knew it was a bad idea, but you really wanted to see the beauty of this finely crafted sword. You pulled it out slightly admiring the polished finish — possibly too long to not notice Yami entering his room.
“Get out or I’ll kill you!”
“Ahh! I’m so sorry! I’ll leave, j-just let me explain!” You sputtered hoping he wouldn’t kick your ass.
“I was cleaning a-and I wandered down the hallway a-and I saw your room. Then I-I saw—”
“Shut the hell up!”
“I’m sorry capitan,” you apologized.
Why did you have to keep doing stupid shit like this? No only did you invade his privacy but you also touched his brand new katana— Yami’s katana. Shit, you put your position in the squad in jeopardy and ruined the chances of him ever being interested in you. What would the other squad members thi—
“Hello? I asked you to hand it over,” Yami pointed to the sword with his eyebrow raised.
“You’re being creepy…” he continued and eyed you.
Yami grabbed your arm and released the katana from your grip. He laid the sword flat on his palms and pulled it out completely, inspecting it.
“Well, I guess you didn’t mess it up too bad. You know, acting like a dumbass and all,” Yami spoke and shook his head.
You opened your mouth to protest but remained quiet instead.
“You came in here just to look at a sword? Gonna steal it or somethin’?”
“No, I was just snooping. It was rude of me,” you muttered.
“Stop apologizing. Don’t care, just don’t do it again,” Yami grumbled.
He closed the katana back down into its scabbard and sighed.
“Ok, get out,” he spoke suddenly and walked you to the door.
After you walked out, Yami leaned against the doorframe.
“You know Y/N, you don’t have to sneak around. If you wanted to visit and talk you could’ve just asked,” Yami laughed and closed the door.
Did he say visit? What did that even mean? Well, you were just glad you made it out alive. Your palms were sweaty and after that encounter you needed a cold shower.
The next day...
After breakfast, all the squad members sat in the main room chatting. You assumed no one knew about what happened the day before, but you sat by yourself just in case. Well, not entirely by yourself since Zora was across from you snoozing, as always.
“Be quiet and sit down,” Yami clapped his hands together, “I’m sending a couple of you on a mission.”
“Julius needs to speak to Asta, Finral, and Charmy again. So, go do that or whatever,” Yami announced nonchalantly and sat back down to read the paper.
Everyone else traveled to the Noble Realm to shop or went outside to train. You quietly sat and drank your coffee hoping no one would notice that you were missing.
You heard a gruff voice from above you, “Y/N, come here.”
Yami?! What does he want? He stood over you and motioned you to follow.
“Yes, captain.”
You both ended up outside his room.
“What are we—”
“We have free-time. I thought you wanted to talk,” Yami shrugged.
“Sur— I mean, yeah we can,” you smiled awkwardly.
Yami sat down on his bed and stared at you, blowing out a puff of smoke from his cigarette. You stood against his desk, in the corner of the room, assuming it wouldn’t be appropriate to sit on his bed with him. The uncomfortable silence made you flustered and you slightly pinched your leg to right yourself.
“Are we gonna stare at each other all day?” Yami surmised.
“I don’t really have anything to talk about necessarily,” you spoke.
“Mhm, ok well we can leave—”
“Wait! I-I mean um… hold on. Tell me about your katana, please captain,” you blurted.
“You wanna hear about my katana? Nothing else you want to talk about?” Yami asked.
“Yeah… Well, no. I’m just interested in learning about it. It looks like it’s made with good craftsmanship.”
Yami stood suddenly, pulling his katana from the holster on his waist and motioned you over. He sat back down on his bed and waited for you to join. You awkwardly sat beside him and you couldn’t help your cheeks from turning bright red from the closeness.
“Put your hands out,” Yami instructed, “The blade is sharp so don’t do anything stupid.”
The sword laid balanced across both of your palms.
“The handle is called tsuka,” Yami began and stroked the top, “...and the blade is called sori.”
He took two fingers and slowly ran them across the surface of the blade.
“The only authentic ones are from back home, but since I haven’t gone back, I get them imported.”
“Wow, it’s a really beautiful sword,” you admired softly.
“Mhm, it’s quite… personal to me,” Yami cleared his throat and grabbed the katana from your hands.
He glanced over at your face with an unreadable expression and shifted away.
“I think that’s enough talking for today. I’m gonna take a nap,” Yami rushed and stood from the bed.
“Can I come back tomorrow?” You asked quietly and walked to the door.
Yami pulled his cigarette from his lips and crushed the butt into the cigarette tray on top of his nightstand.
“Eh, I don’t know… I think today was enough,” he responded curtly.
“Did I do something wrong?” you began to pry.
Yami stood silent staring at you for a moment. He finally made his way over, and towered over your small frame.
“I hate it when you act innocent,” Yami growled lowly and tilted your chin upwards slowly, “You know exactly what you’re doing, princess.”
“Captain… What are you talking about?” you questioned, puzzled by his sudden change in mood.
“I haven’t caught on for a while, but I’m not stupid. You like when I tower over you like this… or when I command you to do what I want,” Yami taunted and rested his hands above your head.
“You snooped in my room because you couldn’t get enough of me, huh?” Yami chuckled and stared deeper into your nervous gaze.
“C-captain I-I,” you stuttered and clenched your thighs together to suppress the tingling from your core.
“There’s no need to confess, Y/N. I already know how you feel,” Yami said. “I guess I was a little oblivious. I thought you had a childish crush, but it seems like there’s something more.”
Yami scratched the back of his head and his eyes traveled down your body to your clenched thighs. With one hand still above you, the other traced down your side and gripped your thigh gently. He began to rub small circles on your skin with his thumb.
You bit your lip and glanced up at Yami’s dark gaze from under your lashes.
“D’ya like that princess?” he teased as his hand traveled further underneath your skirt.
“Yes captain,” you sighed.
You were soaking through your panties and you were nervous about what Yami would think. His low voice and his digits pressed on you made your skin burn.
Yami’s eyes grew a little when he reached your panties. He took his middle finger and ran it over your heat feeling how your wetness pooled under you.
“You want me to touch you some more?” Yami spoke into your neck.
You nodded eagerly, opening your legs wider for his massive hand.
“Mm…”
Yami rubbed faster over your clothed pussy. He pulled his hand away and leaned down to your ear.
“Get on the bed. Head down and ass up, now.” Yami ordered you.
He could tell you liked being dominated, but you also like being praised and he stepped into that role nicely.
You scurried over to his bed and did what you were told. A little part of you wanted to push him further.
You reached under your skirt and played with yourself, bucking into your hand. You pushed your ass out and turned your head to watch him.
Yami cooly walked to his nightstand, grabbed a cigarette and lit it while he watched you. That was definitely not the reaction you expected.
Smoke billowed out from his lips as he spoke, “That’s a nice show you’re putting on. Maybe you can get yourself off instead.”
“Wha- no, I was just—”
“Touch yourself,” Yami demanded.
He watched as you hesitated and moved your hand away. Yami roughly pulled your hand back under you, placing it on your core.
“Do it.”
You had no choice other than to play with yourself in front of him, but it was technically your fault. You gently rubbed over the fabric and grazed across your aching pussy. The constant friction of the panties across your clit made it difficult to stay steady on your knees. You moaned incoherently into the bedspread and began slowing your movements.
Yami grabbed a handful of your ass and smacked it harshly, “Faster. Keep going like a good girl.”
“Yam-Yami please. I c-can’t…” you panted.
“Do I have to tell you again, princess?” Yami threatened while pinching your ass.
“No, sir… but I just need you,” you pleaded and grinded into the air.
With a grunt, Yami pulled you to the edge of the bed with your ass propped. He tore your panties off of you and spread your pussy open to rub harsh circles on your swollen bud, making your toes curl.
“Mm fuck. That feels so, so good, captain!”
“Something tells me this is your favorite place to be touched,” Yami chuckled, quickening his movements.
You bucked harder, fucking yourself down onto Yami’s hand.
“Shit, it looks like your gonna come, princess.”
He pulled you back into his chest and continued his movements while you came undone. You felt yourself on the brink of tears as you slumped down into Yami’s arms. You heard him breathing hard behind you as his erection poked into your lower back.
“Damn princess, that was only the first round! Hah! I knew you weren’t that innocent,” Yami teased and wrapped his arms around your waist.

You were sitting under the tree outside of the Burrow, making little flower rings and crowns. That was when you saw someone running towards you, and before you could recognize who it was, that shadow already climbed up the tree.
“Fred Weasley!! You say sorry to Ron right now!” Then you heard Mrs. Weasley’s voice shouting and coming your way. Beside her was a crying four-year-old boy, covered in paint. He was crying, but his state somehow made you chuckle.
“Y/N, dear, did you see Fred?” Mrs. Weasley stopped when she saw you and tried her best to put on a smile when she asked.
Maybe it was because Ron was crying in such a hilarious way. Maybe it was because you were interested in meeting the person who did this, so you covered for Fred, “I didn’t, Mrs. Weasley.”
Molly has always heard from your parents that you were a well-behaved kid, so she didn’t doubt a word you said and walked away.
The little prankster finally climbed down the tree after Molly went back into the house. He held out his hand to you, “Thank you for helping me! I’m Fred! What’s your name?”
You shook his hand, “Y/N.”
“Brilliant! What’s the word again-Ah! Since you just covered for me, we’re officially partners in crime now!”
You chuckled at his silly wink. You didn’t have any siblings, and you weren’t very close with your cousins either. So you were happy that you were making friends.
“What are you doing out here?”
“Making flower rings.” The flowers in your hand suddenly reminded you of something. You took a flower ring you just made and slipped it onto his left ring finger. He blinked and looked at you confused.
“I saw it somewhere that partners in crime wear matching rings. So here’s yours,” you explained and showed off the matching ring on your left hand, “and here’s mine.”
“Wicked!”
~
You were at the Burrow, nervously playing with the little silver flower on your wedding ring. This was actually the first time you were back at the Burrow even though you married Fred months ago. After all, it was a fake marriage, so you weren’t obligated to go to each other’s family gatherings. But it’s Christmas, and Molly insisted on having you at the Burrow, so your fake marriage would look more realistic.
So here you were, fidgeting at your husband’s childhood home. It wasn’t the first time you were at the Burrow, but for some reason, you were suddenly nervous that you won’t make a good impression. What if Molly spent time with you and realized this fake marriage was a mistake? What if the other Weasleys didn’t like you? What if-
“What are you thinking?” Fred’s voice startled you.
Of course, you weren’t going to tell him the truth, “Nothing.”
Fred raised an eyebrow, but he didn’t ask more questions. Instead, he wrapped his arms around your shoulders and started bringing you to the door, “Well then, let’s go!”
“To where?”
“Quidditch game! I need you to cheer for me and my team!”
“Okay, but I’m only cheering for the winning team!”
You and Hermione were sitting under the tree, watching their game. You had to admit that today’s game was indeed very intense. It was no less exciting than the school quidditch matches.
Hermione was watching carefully with her fists clenched. She would cheer when Ron successfully hit away the quaffle. And she would chuckle and whisper, “Idiot,” when Ron put on a silly face as he cheered.
You brought a book to the match, but your eyes were on Fred the entire time, following him wherever he goes. You noticed how his forearm muscle would tense up and how serious he looked when he’s focused. How come you never realized that your fake husband looked this good when he was playing quidditch.
Before you even realized what you were doing, you started cheering silently when Fred hit the bludger and gasping when the bludger almost hit him. You turned to look at Hermione when she was cheering for Ron again, and you realized you were just doing the same thing. And at this moment, you felt like you were really Fred’s wife, instead of just playing the part.
The game came to an end with Ron’s team winning and Fred’s losing. Everyone was cheering for Ron, while Fred just sat next to you quietly, with defeat written all over his face.
“I think you were brilliant out there,” you commented.
“I thought you were reading a book.”
“I was watching the game, too,” you continued, “Ron was pretty good, but if you didn’t save him, that bludger could’ve broken his arm.”
Fred turned to look at you with his eyes widened, looking very surprised, and you continued, “And I saw you hitting the bludger away three times more than George did.”
“So you were paying attention to me?”
”Of course,” you rolled your eyes to cover for the fact that your cheeks were heating up, “I was paying attention to you because you are my only friend here. Plus, you are my husband. It would be a little embarrassing for me too if you weren’t doing good.” You blurted out all the excuses you could find and went back inside with the others.
But Fred found himself unable to move. Growing up with six other siblings, it seemed like no one ever paid attention to him and only him. Sometimes he felt like even his mother would just treat him and George as one inseparable group collectively.
But now, you were only paying attention to him. And the way you said “my husband” worked like a spell that rendered him motionless. He was unable to do anything except for blushing and smiling like an idiot.
~
“Your mum’s cooking is so much better than yours,” you mumbled after you swallowed your food and took a sip of your drink.
“Yea, but my cooking is still better than yours,” Fred said as he dumped a spoonful of your favorite dish on your plate.
Molly smiled with adoration when she saw you and Fred helping each other to your favorite dishes so naturally without saying a thing. The last time she saw you two sitting at the same table, you were still rolling eyes at each other.
You glared at Fred, trying to think of a smart comeback. But Ginny spoke first, “You know how to cook? How come you never cooked for us?”
Fred smiled at his sister, “Yea, that’s not happening.”
“I can cook for you! I’m better than him, anyway,” you offered as you glared at Fred one more time.
“Okay, I’ve only known Y/N for less than a day, but I already like my sister-in-law better than you.”
“At least I won’t burn my toast twice in a morning.”
“I was in a hurry!” you protested, “At least I didn’t almost burn the kitchen down with a roast chicken.”
Ginny laughed at how you two were bickering like an old married couple. She wasn’t exaggerating when she said she liked her new sister-in-law. She always thought you were pretty cool back in Hogwarts, especially after seeing you comforting and protecting a few younger students when the death eaters were controlling the school. “Y/N, where are you staying tonight? You can stay in my room if you want.” But she soon realized something, “Or are you staying in Fred’s room?”
You blushed at Ginny’s question and immediately looked away, trying to search for a good response.
“Don’t worry about it, Ginny. They are pretty used to sharing a bed, right?” George raised his eyebrows as he teased.
“Oh shove off!” Fred glared at George, but you could feel your face heating up like an oven. Luckily, baby Victoire started crying, distracting everyone, and saving you from further questions.
~
After the dinner, Fred stayed downstairs to catch up with Bill, and you went upstairs on your own. The twins used to share the same bedroom, but George moved to Charlie's room since you were here for Christmas, leaving their childhood bedroom to you and Fred.
When Fred went upstairs, he saw you reading by the windowsill. It was strange having a girl here in his childhood bedroom. But watching you sitting there and reading so intently with your lower lip between your teeth, Fred felt like it made sense for you to be there. It felt natural, like you were the owner of this room.
“What are you reading?” Fred asked as he approached you.
“Pride and Prejudice,” you replied without looking at him.
“Never heard of it. Who’s the author?”
“You say it like you’ve read many books,” you finally looked up to mock him, “The author is called Jane Austen. She’s a muggle writer.”
Fred was surprised, “You’re reading a muggle book?”
“Yea. As long as it’s a great book, muggle or wizard, I will read it. Unlike you, not reading anything at all.” you glared at him, for you knew he was assuming things about you again.
Fred wasn’t offended by your comment. Instead, he propped up his head with his hand and looked at you, “How about you read it to me, so I could say I read it too.”
You rolled your eyes but still picked up the book and started reading. Fred always loved your voice. Now listening to you reading a book to him, your voice felt like a soft lullaby, calming him down and soothing his soul.
Fred smiled and decided to rest his head on your lap. You rolled your eyes again but didn’t stop him. Your fingers soon started combing his hair absent-mindedly. Fred closed his eyes contently, taking in the smell of your apple shampoo. This night was just perfectly peaceful and tranquil.
“Y/N?”
“Mhm?”
“One year later, after we got a divorce, if you still want to come here during Christmas...I think my mum would be happy to have you.”
“That would be lovely,” you replied as a warm feeling spread through your body. You had a feeling that you understood what he was trying to say.
(to be continued.)

-You Broke Me First- Draco Malfoy x  Female Reader
A/N: This image is based around the song You broke me first by Tate Mcrae this image with have two endings: angst and fluff
Summary: Draco cheated on you months ago with another Slytherin and you broke it off without second thought (as you should) but Draco wants you back
Warning: cheater Draco, yelling, cursing maybe?
House: Hufflepuff
     ♡~🐍~♡
It had been months since you last spoke to Draco Malfoy. He used to be the person you loved and thought loved you too. You were surprised that he gave you the time of day, but with some chatting and a bit of flirting you fell for him hard. The day he asked you out would forever be a cherished memory. You were sitting alone on the courtyard when he came up to you with white roses. You’d never forget the nervous look he had until you said yes.
Being official was the best part. He would show everyone your his with sweet kisses or a arm around you. No guy dared to get close to you and you kinda liked not having guys flirt with you anymore. On one of your anniversaries he bought you a necklace. It was a simple silver chain with a beautiful emerald in the middle. It was small and shaped like a teardrop. It had you and Draco’s name on the back of it. You adored it, you still adore it.
When seventh year rolled around Draco started to become distant, push himself away from you or shut you out, leaving you confused and hurt. He wouldn’t sit or talk to you. At one point you thought it was something you had done, but it wasn’t it was never your fault. It was a late night and Blaise invited you too a Slytherin party, Draco wouldn’t give you the time of day anymore.
Blaise told you that it was Draco who wanted you to come, it made your heart flutter in hope that he still cared about you. When you showed up Draco was nowhere to be found. Thats until a girl came out of one of the boys dorms screaming about how she claimed the Slytherin prince. She had hickeys scattered across her neck and was fixing her shirt, your heart dropped as soon as you saw your boyfriend walking out behind her, with his black button up undone and  messy hair.
As soon as your eyes met he looked saddened, but looked away right after. Had your meant nothing to him anymore? Tears blurred your vision as you ran off. Blaise calling your name behind you, but you didn’t look back. There was nothing to look back to.
   ♡~🐍~♡
A week later Blaise had apologized for Draco’s actions and said he’d always be there for you if you needed it. You told him thanks, but he rarely ever talked to you after that either. You didn’t blame him. You wanted to be alone anyway. Draco made no attempt to speak to you. One day, you had gathered his things that he had left at your dorm room in a box. It contained his quidditch jumper, the notes he wrote you during class that you had kept and one of his many silver rings. He would put one on you and say one day you would be Mrs. Malfoy. What a cruel joke.
You walked over to the Slytherin table during breakfast one morning and tapped Blaise’s shoulder he turned to look at you and gave you a smile. He took in the bags under your eyes, that were also puffy and red due to lack of sleep and crying. You gave him a half smile and handed him the box. After that you got up and left the great hall entirely.
     ♡~🐍~♡
Back to the present. It would have been your fifth anniversary today, why you still kept count? You didn’t know, but it was stupid. Hogwarts was destroyed after the wizard war and it took awhile for it to be put back together, but it happened. You went back to Hogwarts for your 8th year. You were in the program for students who wanted to retake &th year because of the war. You made friends with Hermione, she was pretty sweet.
One day you were walking around the halls when you bumped into someone “Im so sorry i didn’t-” your words were cut off when you came face to face with the man who broke your heart, with the man you were still unfortunately in love with. Draco Malfoy, why did he have to be the one you ran into on your what would have been anniversary “Malfoy, i’m sorry for bumping into you” you said politely before continuing to walk.
“I’m sorry” you heard him shout from behind you making you stop in your tracks “I’m sorry for not being there when you needed me, i’m sorry that i cheated on you, it breaks me to this day and i’d do anything to fix it” your jaw clenched. He was broken? he had no fucking right to say that. You spun on your heels and walked right up to him
“You broke me first, Malfoy” she seethed in anger. He looked shocked. You had never once raised your voice at him and he had never seen you anger. You were kind and sweet. Your were his little Hufflepuff girlfriend. You were his everything. You were enraged, your E/C eyes bore into him. He looked around before grabbing your hand. He pulled you both into a empty classroom.
‘Maybe you don't like talking too much about yourself’
You didn’t care, you needed all this anger out and he was going to listen and shut up “Y/N listen. I didn’t tell you a lot of things when we were dating, but i want to now” he said and stepped closer to you, but you just backed away “But you shoulda told me that you were thinkin' 'bout someone else” your voice cracked slightly. You were going to be a bit emotional about this and you had every reason to be. Draco felt a pang in his chest as you spoke to him. THe hurt coming off of your voice was enough to make him cry.
‘You're drunk at a party or maybe it's just that your car broke down Your phone's been off for a couple months, so you're calling me now’
“Y/N i’m so sorry. Just let me explain so we can fix this. I want you back in my life. You were supposed to be Mrs. Malfoy remember?” he pleaded and went to grab your hand, but you pulled it away. He couldn’t just say sorry and everything would be okay. That’s not how this works. You turned your head away from him “I know you, you're like this. When shit don't go your way you needed me to fix it. And like me, I did. But I ran out of every reason”
Draco listened to you speak, a lump forming in his throat. “Now suddenly you're asking for it back?!” you exclaimed and pushed him away. He stumbled back a bit “Could you tell me, where'd you get the nerve?” and pushed him again. Tears ran down your face “Yeah, you could say you miss all that we had. But I don't really care how bad it hurts. When you broke me first” you choked out and pushed him one last time.
       ‘You broke me first’
You were in a full mania and back away, you laughed and wiped your tears from your face with the back of your hand roughly. You sat on top of a desk “Took a while, was in denial when I first heard, That you moved on quicker than I could've ever, you know that hurt” she swung her legs as she spoke remembering two weeks after you broke up he went out with Pansy Parkinson, you heard they broke up after his dad was sent to Azkaban.
“Swear for a while I would stare at my phone necklace just to see your name. But now that it's there, I don't really know what to say” you shrugged half heartedly as your hand fiddles with the necklace he gave around your neck, you never took it off, you just couldn’t. Draco looked at the necklace remembering when he bought it for you. It was a happy memory for him
(the rest of the song isn’t needed so bleh)
          ♡~🐍~♡
     Angst Ending:
You got off the desk and looked one last time at Draco who had tear tracks down his face, you reached behind your neck and unclipped the necklace. You dropped it into your palm and sighed. You finally had closure and got to say what you had wanted to. You walked up to him and grabbed his hand. He looked hopeful for a second before you placed the necklace into his hand and closed it.
“Please don’t do this” he whispered, more tears falling down. You shook your head and looked away, letting go of his hand “Goodbye Draco Malfoy, i wish you the best” you spoke politely, which broke his heart. You pushed open the classroom door and walked out. You walked down the hallway a heavy feeling being lifted off your chest.
After that you felt free and happy without Draco, he still gave you sad glances sometimes, but with Hermione by your side she helped you with it and soon Draco Malfoy was a faded memory and you were stronger than ever.
          ♡~🐍~♡
     Happy Ending:
Draco walked over to you and you turned your gaze away quickly. He leaned in and you tried your hardest to not to look “My father forced me to become a death eater” he said making you gasp. He rolled up his sleeve to show you his dark mark and you covered your mouth with your hand. “He told me that people around me would be my weakness and darling. You are my weakness, because your the person i love the most”
You felt your heartbeat quicken. He still had that effect on you “I needed to get you to leave me, but i couldn’t break up with you. You would know i was lying. You always know when im lying” he laughed quietly “So i invited you to that party so you could see. Paid some girl to pretend to have slept with me. I’ll never forget the look on your face when you saw me” He looked away as you processed the information.
“What about that hickeys?” you asked, like it was the important part in that sentence, which it wasn’t “Blaise” “Blaise knew about this to?” Draco nods “He was a death eater to, after you left i was to be engaged to Pansy” he groaned. He never really liked Pansy, she was too clingy for him. “When my father was sent away i broke it off and came back here to find you” he spoke softly as he cupped your face with one of his hands “Your the only person i would ever want to be Mrs. Malfoy” he smiles.
You crack a smile and lean into his hand, you missed his touch so much. “Will you be mine again Y/N?” he asked, worry behind his tone. If you’d say no he would be broken inside, but he would accept it and leave you alone for the rest of your life. You pulled his hand away and scooted up on the desk, bending your knees and launching yourself at him. You wrapped your arms and legs around the Slytherin boy. Draco stumbled back before wrapping his arms around you tightly “I’ll take that as a yes?” “Yes! You idiot! Don’t you ever do that again Draco Malfoy!”
     “I won’t Y/N Malfoy”
          ♡~🐍~♡
A/N: This one lowkey broke my heart guys, like what in the fuck. Why did i write this? Anyway, if you have a request for Draco send it my way.

Prologue
Chapter 1: The Company
"Do you have to leave?" Lani asked as she handed me my bag, she was always the nervous one.
"Yes, it's important. Take care of things while I'm gone, I have faith in you Lani. I'll be back before you know it." Lani was like a younger sister to me, the one always hiding behind the older one. While I was going to be missing, I put her in charge of the kingdom. She knew how everything worked, she was always there next to me when I was taking care of business anyhow. Of course, after a few days of traveling to the shire I wanted to turn back to see if she was alright, but I knew I had to keep going. And eventually, I stood in front of the green door with a dwarven letter carved into it. Taking a deep breath I knocked, and the voices I had heard went quiet. It's just a bunch of dwarves, nothing to be worried about. The door opened to reveal a hobbit, not as tall as me but he was up to my shoulders.
"Uh, c-come in." He steps to the side, and I walked forward, they must've been expecting me. Setting my bag down by the front door, I took in everything. It was small and cozy, I wish my home looked like this. Continuing on I came across the thirteen dwarves Gandalf had mentioned.
"This is Y/n Y/l/n, I believed she could be a wonderful asset to our quest." The raven-haired man couldn't keep his eyes off me, it was like he was dazed, now that I think about it every dwarf's gaze was still on me. Including a young man about my height, maybe even taller. I smirked, hello handsome, my cheeks burned a shade of crimson as I realized my thought process. Gandalf nudged the man to get his attention, and he snaps out of his trance.
"My name is Thorin Oakenshield, it is a pleasure to meet you, my lady." He bowed his head slightly, giving me a small smile.
"You won't be saying that in a few seconds," I muttered, Gandalf swallowed nervously as he said his next words carefully.
"I should mention, that Y/n is also...The Queen of The Digonisks. The Soul Of The Black Dragon." Everyone's eyes widened, but no one said a word except the blond man in the back.
"What's a Digonisk?"
"There dragons, and murderers." Thorin glared at me with a fire in those blue orbs. I just rolled my eyes, of course, that's what he thought of me. Yet how could we be the murderers when their kind slaughtered mine? "I want her out, that filth cannot come on this quest with us."
"'That filth' has a name you know, and for your information, it's not really up to you now is it?" I exclaimed, he went to protest but Gandalf held out his hand to silence him.
"She can help us Thorin, she has the ability to take down Smaug. She might be the only one who can."
"I don't care." He abruptly stood, not even a foot away from me. "Leave, or I'll strike you down where you stand." Silently, I conjured a dagger and placed right against his side making him gasp.
"You'll be dead before you can even draw your sword, you should be thankful I came to help. I could've easily said no and let karma continue it's pace. Especially after what your kin did to us, you took my home, killed my people! Your no better than Smaug himself. Now sit." I forced him back into his chair, his hand gripped tightly on his blade. He wants to play does he? Bring it on.
"Enough!" Gandalf stood, making the room fill with darkness. "I brought her along, and so she shall stay, if you try to lay a hand on her I won't hesitate to lay one on you." He was furious, but as he sat back down the room turned back to normal. Each dwarf was scowling at me, except the two in the back. Right, they don't know the history between us.
"It was nice meeting you, your majesty." I bowed, and turned back towards the door. "I'll be outside, tell me when we're leaving."
"Wait! You haven't even heard about-" Gandalf stands but I raise my hand, silencing him. "At least stay and listen." I stopped, I already new of their quest, there was no reason for me to be in this room. And none of them probably didn't want me to stay anyhow.
"You can sit by us." The man in the back offered, patting the seat next to him with a smile. The other's hissed at him but he ignored their comments, making my way to the end of the table, I sit between him and the blond. Both were slightly blushing, and staring at me with those beautiful eyes though trying to make it less obvious. Thorin continues to eat his stew, making very little eye-contact with me.
"Perhaps we could do introductions? I still only know two of the people in this room."
"Right, that would be best." Gandalf agreed, and he pointed to each individual as he named them off. "Here you have Thorin, the leader of our company. Bofur, with his brothers Bomber and Bifur, then Dwalin, Balin, Gloin, Oin, Dori, Nori and Ori. Then last but not least the two next to you, Kili and Fili." None of them seemed happy, if looks could kill I would've been dead the moment Gandalf mentioned what I was. When Gandalf named off Kili, he winked at me while slightly smirking. I winked back making him look away embarrassed, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself.
"What news from the meeting in Ered Luin? Did they all come?" Balin asked, looking over at his king, who nods.
"Aye, envoys from all seven kingdoms."
"And what did the dwarves of the Iron Hill say? Is Dain with us?" Dwalin asked, Thorin hesitated as he stated his answer.
"They will not come." The other dwarves become visibly upset, I decided that this might take awhile. So I played with the little flame that came from my finger, it didn't burn me for I was immune to fire. I was in my own mind, my own little world while humming a melody.
"Can she please leave?" I heard Thorin whisper, leaning closer to the wizard. "She does not belong here." Gandalf knew nothing would get done if I stayed, so he gives me a pleading look. Happily I left the table, and headed back outside, it felt nice out here. Sitting on the pavement I watched the stars, they were a lot farther away now. My kingdom was high up in the sky, higher than the mountain of Erebor. It's far above the clouds where no eye can see, Gandalf made it that way with the help of my mother's grimoire. He made what's called a floating island, only digonisks and wizards can enter. I heard the hobbit door open, and out came Kili with a bowl of food.
"Here." Kili smiled handing me a bowl of stew. "I thought you would be hungry, so I brought you some stew."
"I'm not eating that, especially not from a dwarf." He slowly brought it back to himself, he seemed upset for some reason.
"It's not poisoned if that's what your worried about." He muttered, sitting down next to me. "Here I can test taste it." He quickly took a bite, showing that it wasn't fatal. He handed it back to me with a look of hope.
"Thank you." I took it from him, and hesitantly took my first bite. It tasted delicious, even my people didn't have soup made like this. "Did you make this yourself?"
"Ah no, Bombur made it, mostly for us but I figured you were hungry." Well at least he had some manners, he's certainly more nicer than Thorin. "Don't worry about my uncle, he just, he told me why he hates your kind. Even though that happened, you weren't the one doing the killing."
"Of course he's already spreading rumours." Kili glanced over at me with curiosity. "How about you hear my side of the story. Believe which ever one you want, it won't matter." Cause soon my people will be set free, and each and everyone of you will be filled with guilt. "My kin aren't killers, the village of Hargen had been over run by orcs. We were the first ones to respond to the crisis, and we had driven out the enemy. Yet when the dwarves showed up, Thror believed it to be us who slaughtered them. That wasn't the case, blinded by rage he started rumours about us, saying we weren't peaceful and that we were murders. There already had been rumours, but that was mostly because Digonisks are extremely powerful. The people of Middle Earth knew that if we tried, we could over power them. When they started making rumours, they thought that we would go hide in the shadows. Yet we stilled stayed strong, and when that wasn't enough..." A single tear slipped down my cheek, the horror that occurred in that building was enough to make someone insane. I quickly wiped it away, I can't let him see me weak. "...The dwarves became the true monsters, them and mankind had invited us to the grand ball. I was only a child then, but I remember I was so excited to see the tiny men that roamed our world. Most of us had showed up, and when the doors closed the explosions started."
"...I'm sorry you went through that, but if you hate dwarves so much. Why come and help us?"
"There is something in that mountain that proves my kin is innocent. Reports from Thror himself about what really happened that day. And I intend to find it, so my people can be free once again. That's the main reason why Gandalf brought me here, he showed me a letter from Thrain. Explaining where to find the reports." He looked back to sky, wondering what to say next. I continued to eat my stew, and once I was finished he offered to take the bowl from me.
"Come back inside, surely if you explain to my uncle what's in that mountain he won't hate you as much." I hadn't thought of that, but what if he decides to go burn the papers before I get there? Though he seemed like a respectful man, and if we are going to be working together on this journey then he has to see me as an ally.
"Alright, might as well give it a try." He smiled and grabbed my hand dragging me along with him. "K-Kili wait!" He seemed more excited than I, as we passed each dwarf grimaced at the sight of me.
"Uncle!" Kili exclaimed catching Thorin's attention, he immediately separated our hands. Stepping infront of his nephew he pulled out his sword, pointing it at my neck.
"I suggest you put that thing away, wouldn't want a wizard and a Digonisk fighting you now do you? I have come to show you something, it might make this trip a whole lot easier." He didn't budge, reaching into my cloak I pulled out the same scroll Gandalf had brought me. Thorin slowly took it from my hands and undid the ribbon, his eyes widened in shock at his father's handwriting.
"How did you get this?" He looked back to me, he had hope that his father was alive.
"Gandalf gave it to me, it's the main reason I'm here." Thorin seemed to be more at ease with me in the room now. Did he actually believe his father's words?
"What does is say Thorin?" Balin asked coming closer, Thorin couldn't believe his eyes. Gradually he handed the scroll back to me, and all I saw was remorse in those blue orbs.
"It was written by my father, he says that in my grandfathers room the truth about her kind remain. The real reports about what happened that day in Hargen, if this is true then..." He couldn't finish his sentence, a thousand emotions appeared at once.
"This doesn't mean anything, it could be a lie. Those reports could show something different, but we still don't know if the evidence lies in the mountain." Dwalin interrupted, making the furious look on Thorin's face return. Well so much for that, Gandalf sighs in disappointment. Even he had hope that Thorin would be reasonable, I went to head back outside but Thorin grabs my arm.
"If your coming with us, then you have to sign the contract. I won't be responsible for your death, nor do I feel like dealing with a bunch of angry dragon slayers." Balin, kindly handed me a piece of paper, inside read the rules and what not. They would not be responsible for anything that happens to me, which was fine but if I were to die who would set my people free?
"I want to add something to this, if I am to go on this journey and I die. You must set my people free, get the reports from your grandfather's room and show everyone that my people are innocent. That is all I ask." He seemed shocked at my request, although I didn't want to trust him with this kind of task it was the only way my people would be safe after I'm gone.
"Get me a pen." He grumbled, using my magic I summoned an ethereal white feather. He watched as I wrote down my terms and signed it, then when I handed him the pen he couldn't help but stare at it. It glowed brightly in his hand, never had he seen something like this. After examining it he signed his name on the line, then handed the pen to Balin who signed it as a witness.
"Welcome, Queen Y/n to the company of Thorin Oakenshield." He smiled, that made me feel somewhat welcome. At least he has manners like Thorin's nephew, maybe all dwarves aren't so bad.
"Your welcome to stay inside, get as much sleep as you can. You'll need it for the journey ahead, I have a feeling we're going to be needing those wings of yours." Gandalf suggested but Kili and Fili perked up at his comment.
"Wings? She has wings?" Kili asked coming closer, taking off my cloak I spread them. "I didn't even realize the you could fly!"
"They look a lot smaller when folded, but yes I have wings. There easy to hide under a robe, and not very noticeable." He reached over to touch them, I flinched slightly as his fingers ran over the scales.
"May I?" Thorin asked with a light blush on his face, how could the king under the mountain have rosy cheeks? I nodded, watching him cautiously as he ran his hand over my skin. He let out a small smile as he stretched them farther to get a better look. "They're huge, how could they be so small when tucked away?" He muttered, but when he realized he was getting a little into this he stepped back. That stern look returning to his features. "Get some sleep." That was the last thing he said before walking away, at least he's somewhat warming up to me. I settled in the corner of the hobbit's house away from everyone else, surrounding myself with my wings to keep me warm. After a few minutes of silence, I heard voices again except this time it was the dwarves singing a song. "Far over the Misty Mountains cold. To dungeons deep and caverns old. We must away ere break of day. To find our long-forgotten gold." Thorin's voice was most audible, and for some reason, it soothed me.
"The pines were roaring on the height, the winds were moaning in the night. The fire was red, it flaming spread. The trees like torches blazed with light." I sang along, which made the dwarves silent. The song wasn't unknown to me, everyone outside of the shire knew the story of Erebor. After a moment they sang along after I joined, but softer than before. Maybe because they loved my voice? Or maybe my voice soothed Thorin and he wanted to hear more, as he reassured me.

Harry Potter FRED AU (It could not be named anyhow else and you’ll soon know why)
Please bear with me I swear I’ll make the lenght worth it
I also promise this one AIN’T SAD
Few days ago I was taking a nap and when I woke up my half-conscious brain thought about the name Albus Severus again because it’s a terrible name whether he is named after anyone or not. And I thought ‘did Ginny even get any say in it or what the hell’.
I really think that Harry should name their first child (he did) James Sirius, which is fine, Ginny would name their second son and together they would name their little girl (which I think they did).
But then I thought ‘what would she name him?’ Obviously my first thought was Fred, but I was like ‘nah, that one is for George’s kid... unless’
Here comes my AU, imagine it with me:
It is the first 1st of April after the battle, it isn’t very happy for someone’s birthday, then Percy gets an idea. He cannot forget how the last thing he said to Fred made him smile and he refuses to do anything on his birthday that would not achieve the same goal. So he looks at George and proposes this... what if every one of the siblings named at least one of their child Fred or any equivalent of that, if for nothing else than at least for the chaos it will create at Hogwarts. Everyone is silent for so long Percy just wants to take it back and obliviate everyone, but then Fleur stands up to it and gets really passionate about it and then it slowly dawns on everyone and they love it. It is the first time in all those months that George gives them a non-forced smile. Everyone is super into it. Mrs. Weasley is crying because a) she is happy because her boy is smiling again b) she knows she will be super embarrassed if she ever has to talk to McGonagall after she finds out about this and c) she thought Percy was better than this. Nevertheless if it makes George smile again, she won’t be too harsh about it.
It goes something like this (I’m kind of ignoring the cannon children, but whatever):
- Bill and Fleur name their firstborn daughter Frédérique. She had some mean kids try to laugh at her for it because they thought it’s stupid. She shut their mouths pretty quickly.
- Charlie doesn’t have kids. But he did discover a new breed of dragon, which main trait is that it isn’t violent at all, it’s just really mischievious and will mess up with everyone and everything. Charlie names the breed Island Trickster, for both the experts and amateurs the nickname Fred catches on pretty quickly even though majority of people doesn’t know why.
- Percy’s first child is also a girl but he refuses to let anything stop him from naming his child Fred, because a) it was his idea and b) he’ll be damned if anything keeps him from making this prank, that he created in honour of his brother, work. She gets the name Frederica. She hates it and demands her family calling her by her second name. They do and none of them mind, but before she departs for Hogwarts her parents take her aside and explain why they named her this way. Her prankster blood kicks in and from the moment she steps on the train she introduces herself as Frederica, Fred for short.
- George’s first kids are twins, boy and girl. There is no hesitation - their names are immediately Fred and Freda. When they have the second child, there is a mild discussion, but eventually his name is Fredrick. Proud of their legacy, at school neither will respond to anything but Fred. They become Fred & Fred and Fred.
- Ron, who through Hermione discovered Queen, decides to name their son Freddie. Hermione doesn’t see a reason to protest, she loves it.
- Ginny lets Harry name their first son. First, she likes the name James Sirius. Second, whatever happens that child will have prank as their blood type, so there is really no need to add onto that. Third, she is naming their second child and it will be a version of Fred. Harry does not protest at all, because a) he already has his son named after his father and godfather and b) he refuses to stand in the way of this prank. Also Ginny, being the undercover little shit she is, names their son Fred George... everyone keeps calling him Fred and George. They both also talk about naming their daughter Lily Luna Freda or something and they do, it’s just not that public so she can do with that potential whatever she wants.
It also happens that the whole former gryffindor quidditch team joins in on this (including Lee Jordan, who is considered part of the team) as well as bunch of other friends.
Mrs. Weasley is still a little sceptical but she can’t deny that her boy would be proud. Her job also gets a little easier, because now she just automatically makes her grandchildren sweaters with F. Sometimes she makes more of those that she should but the kids love it (cue later).
Meanwhile in heaven James, Sirius and Remus are both really excited and really jealous. Fred is waiting for the chaos to take reign.
As for Hogwarts, most of the professors are losing it sometimes with entertainment (they mostly enjoy it when someone else is in pain because of this and they love to watch it), sometimes with annoyance, sometimes with both and sometimes actually losing it about to break down and cry (especially when some of their colleagues would just watch and smile). Alltogether in all the houses there is about twenty Fred Weasleys (boys, girls, first names, second names) and the Potters (James Sirius, Fred George and Lily Luna) plus the other Freds - all of them there for two or three years, which basically translates into destruction of the highest level.
There are family gatherings frequently at the Burrow, where they all just sit around the table writing letters to their kids and all of them writing one howler.
The howler arrives to a random person, usually a friend of one of the Weasley/Potter kids and the whole Great hall hears, “FRED! WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME?!”
All the Fred’s look at each other, because they all did something they shouldn’t (which their parents don’t know, but the kids don’t know they don’t know). No one also knows which Fred it is meant for. No one knows if they are being scolded or messed with.
Very rarely the howler would yell, “FRED WEASLEY”, and in the fat pause after that, every single person in the room can hear, Fred George Potter say “oh, thank Merlin’s nightgown.”
Sometimes the howler would shout, “FRED. I AM SO DISSAPPOINTED IN YOU. YOU WERE NOT GIVEN THIS NAME TO KEEP PEACE AND TRANQUILITY AT THE SCHOOL!” Molly Weasley may or may not scold her children and children-in-law for this one. (Obviously if the kids weren’t into pranking their parents would never force them or out them like this, but since they are all openly on board this happens way too often for the professors’ liking.
Then there is christmas time. Most of the kids leave for home... most of them except for the Weasley/Potters and some of the other Freds, whose parents are friends with the Weasleys. The sweaters come and... every signle one has a F on it. None of the kids protest. They wear it proudly. There are attempts at making fun of them. It doesn’t work.
James walks around announcing to everyone repeatedly and very loudly that his name is Fames Firius Fotter. In the meantime, as long as Lily is wearing her sweater, she refuses to react to anything but Fily or Funa and that includes the teachers.
Everyone tries to resist, everyone breaks down eventually.
McGonagall wants to look stern, but she is loving it.
There is a relatively new professor trying to complain to the colleague sitting next to him. Neville Longbottom, who names his children Frank Fred, Alice Fredricka and Augusta Freda, nods sympathetically while sipping his tea. “I know,” he says. “Imagine if one of them named their kid something like Prank. We would call them a normal name now.”
That is the moment Minerva McGonagall loses it and actually chuckles. Every single one of the kids writes a letter to their parents about that one.
All hell loses all the breaks on April Fools. McGonagall wanted to go easy on punishing the pranks for several reasons and one of them is that it is the twins birthday. It takes one April Fools when the kids take it relatively easy for them to figure out the punichments are quite mild. The next year they go Wild and  McGonagall understands that her nostalgia is a dangerous thing. She stops it then and there, because she knows it won’t stop them, it might just stop some people from getting hurt.
Sometimes Peeves won’t have the mood to come up with something himself so he just goes with calling everyone Fred. Some teachers take from it, figuring that if they don’t remember someone’s name it must be because they decided they will deduce it later, which translates to “the name is Fred”.
Years later when the children leave Hogwarts there is formed a new quidditch team. The name is “Flying Freds”. They are all married and stuff, so their last names are all different, but all of them share the name Fred, which only increases the children named Fred, because who wouldn’t name their child after their favourite quidditch team, amiright?
People in both the wizarding and muggle world are astonished as to Why is there suddenly such a popularity to the name, while in the afterlife Fred won’t stop saying shit like “The students have surpassed the teachers.” and the Marauders are both upset they didn’t manage something like that, but also impressed and really loving it.
McGonagall once talks about it with George and he says it was Percy’s idea. Percy, always perfect prefect Percy, blushes as McGonagall looks at him and says: “All those years I was worried you aren’t an actually Weasley and you’ve just been hiding all that potential, hm.”
It is that moment they understand she might have always been strict, but she loved those little and big pranks simply because they were creative and smart and she was always so proud of the Marauders and the twins for it.

A Chance
Draco Malfoy x reader
Summary: Draco left Y/N heartbroken, absolutely crushed it. So what does she do when he shows up at her doorstep, five years past since the last time she saw him? Will she find it in her heart to forgive him?
@fic-writer-heaven‘s October Event writing challenge: Angst prompt 10. “One of the cruelest things you can do to another person is pretend to care more about them than you really do.” and fluff prompt 5. “You are my heart, my life, my one and only thought.” The prompts have been bolded :) I had loads of fun writing this.
Words: ~2.3k
Warnings: angst, a bit of fluff. Comment please if you think there are any other warnings to be added :)
A/N: DID SOMEONE SAY DRACO MALFOY? Hehe xD I was really going to debating on whether to have a sad or happy ending. But then I remembered my plans for another Draco fic and I thought that our boy deserved a bit of happiness :) I hope you like this xx
⭑*•̩̩͙⊱••••✩••••̩̩͙⊰•*⭑
You never thought you’d see him again. But yet here he was, standing on your front porch. He looked different, a bit older of course; it had been five years since the Battle of Hogwarts. His white blond hair was shorter than you remembered. He wore black jeans, and a black peacoat over a green Slytherin jumper. He had gained a bit of weight; no longer sickly thin and pale. His grey eyes seemed brighter, happier. You couldn’t deny that he had aged well. He looked handsome; he always did look handsome. Nobody could deny it, especially not you.
“H- hi,” he stuttered.
You stared at him, your e/c eyes not wavering from his form.
Draco cleared his throat, “Can we talk?” He paused before adding a “please.”
“You weren’t so willing to talk last time.”

“One of the cruelest things you can do to another person is to pretend to care more about them than you really do.”
Your mother had told you this at a young age. At the time you had disagreed. Surely it was better to have someone pretend to care rather than have no one at all? You never really understood how wrong you had been until this precise moment where you stood in front of the boy that broke your heart, balancing tears, willing them not to fall.
“We can work this out, Draco. Talk to me, please.”
“I have nothing to say to you, Y/N,” said Draco coldly.
“There has to be something I can do. I can fix it, whatever it is, please. Just give me a chance. I can’t lose you,” you begged. You sounded desperate but you didn’t care. You loved Draco; you have since you were in your 4th year.
“You don’t get it, do you? I don’t care about you.”
You shook your head in denial, “That’s not true.”
“I never cared about you,” Draco spoke as if explaining something to a child. “You were nothing but something to pass my time with, something to experience.”
You felt your heart drop to the bottom of your stomach at his words. That couldn’t be true. He had to be lying.
“You’re lying. I know you are. You have to be,” you pressed on, hoping to break him out of whatever- out of what? You didn’t know. But you knew Draco, this was not your Draco.
“Listen to me. I have never loved you, I never will. I pretended to because I was merely bored. Did you really think I’d love a filthy half-blood like you?” he sneered.
You couldn’t hold back the tears any longer; they fell, streaming down your face. It did nothing to falter Draco. His cold, empty eyes glared at you. That’s when you realized the Draco you knew and loved, who swore to hurt anyone who ever made you cry back in 5th year, was gone. Replaced by the cold monster staring down at you.
You took a deep breath and stepped away from the love of your life. You walked away from him, suppressing your sobs. You refused to show him how much he affected you.
That day you promised yourself that no one would ever have the opportunity to break your heart again, like Draco Malfoy did.
⭑*•̩̩͙⊱••••✩••••̩̩͙⊰•*⭑
“I know,” Draco mumbled shamefully.
Draco raked his brain for a way to get you to listen to him. He didn’t know what to do or say that’d convince you to hear him out. “I can’t take back what I’ve done but please just give me a chance to explain, to set things straight. If after that you don’t want to talk to me or see me, I swear you’ll never see or hear from me again.”
You stared at the man in front of you. He looked desperate, probably as desperate as you had that unfortunate day when everything changed for you. Knowing you would somehow come to regret this, you sighed and moved aside, widening the entrance to invite him in.
Draco sighed in relief. He didn’t know what he would have done if you hadn’t agreed. He followed you down a hall. The walls were decorated with so many pictures; pictures of you alone, with your friends from back in Hogwarts and recently, pictures with and of your family. He noticed there were no pictures with anyone that looked like a partner which gave him a bit of hope.
You led him into the kitchen and put a kettle on to boil. Draco looked around smiling, this is exactly what he would’ve imagined your house and kitchen to look like. There were a few plants - no doubt some herbs - growing near the windowsill. Everything was organized in the wooden and glass cupboards, the white marble countertop spotless except for a few fruits in a basket. Handing him a cup of peppermint tea, you sat down at the small table in the corner of the kitchen. Taking a sip from your cup of lemon ginger tea, you watched him hang his coat on the back of the chair before taking a seat across from you. You continued to watch him for a while. When he asked you for a chance to explain, you expected there to be more, well, talking. But it seemed as though he was pretty content sitting there in your kitchen, drinking your tea in silence. You internally rolled your eyes, already frustrated.
Draco took a sip of his hot peppermint tea and sighed, pleased with the warmth that spread through his body. He knew you were waiting for him to say something, but he didn’t know where to begin. Every time he believed he’d found a way to start the conversation, his mind would chastise him.
“Well get to it, won’t you?” you said irritated, finally getting tired of waiting for him to say anything. Draco pursed his lips together and decided to just wing it.
“I didn’t know what else to do. The times were getting darker, my father was in Azkaban and with the pressure on me.  You were not safe around me; you were not safe around a Death Eater. I was scared; for you and for myself. If any of them found out about us,” he squeezed his eyes shut, attempting to get rid of the horrid images his mind was coming up with. His hands gripping the cup of tea so tightly, he was surprised it didn’t shatter. “I don’t know what they would’ve done to you. I didn’t want to find out.”
“Did you ever think maybe I didn’t care what could’ve happened to me? I would’ve gone to all lengths for you, Draco.”
“I didn’t want you to,” he shook his head lightly. “I couldn’t let you sacrifice everything for me. I couldn’t be selfish, not when it had to do with you. I had to protect you in the only way I knew how. You are my heart, my life, my one and only thought. I love you, Y/N. I always have, I always will.”
Even though you hadn’t and don’t agree with what he’d done, you could understand where he was coming. He was doing what he thought was best for you.
“I love you too,” you replied quietly, flustered by his last words. Draco beamed; maybe there really was hope after all.
“I want to forgive you, Draco. I really do. But what you did, what you said,” you trailed off, taking a moment to gather yourself and your words.
“You hurt me, Draco. What you said, no matter the reason, I can’t just forget it because of an apology. I can’t do that to myself again. I won’t.” You felt proud of yourself for being able to resist him. Though, you knew that it wouldn’t be long before you gave in.
Draco moved forward, reached out and took your hand in both of his and brought it close to him.
“I know what I did was wrong. There were other ways to handle the situation, instead I acted like an arse. But please, Y/N,” he pleaded as he placed a small kiss on your knuckles. “Just give me a chance. I will spend however long it takes to make this right, to make us right. I will do whatever it takes, just tell me what I can do.”
You couldn’t lie, you were a bit shocked. You never thought you’d see the day that the Draco Malfoy would be in your house, in your kitchen, begging and pleading with you to give him another chance because he was wrong.
After that unfortunate day, you’d thrown yourself into work. Excelling at every subject, making head girl in your 7th year when you returned to Hogwarts after the war. You were a Y/H and you would be damned if you let anyone, least of all a boy, get in the way of your education and goals. You graduated top of the class, went out into the real world and built a good name for yourself. All the hard work had paid off; everyone believed you had the potential become one of the best healers the wizarding community had ever seen, once you completed your training.
You’d promised yourself that no one would have the opportunity to break your heart again. But as you gazed at the man in front of you. You felt your resolve break. The clear desperation and tears welling up in his eyes tugging at your heartstrings. You knew you’d break the promise made to yourself almost seven years ago, over and over again for the man in front of you.
Draco could see the hurt he’d caused you years ago swimming in your eyes. He made a promise to himself at that moment, he’d do whatever it took and however long it’d take for that hurt to go away. And maybe, hopefully, it’d be replaced by something else, something more if it all worked out in the end.
You sighed, hating yourself for giving in so easily.
“Alright. I will give you a chance to make this right, but you have to earn the forgiveness,” you said softly. “Don’t make me regret this, Draco. Show me you deserve to be forgiven.”
Draco nodded, a wide smile taking over his face. Even after all these years, it knocked the breath out of you. You’d always loved his smile; it had been one of your favourite things about him.
“Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” Draco said, placing butterfly kisses on your knuckles, overcome with a type of happiness he hadn’t felt in a long time, not since he made you walk away that unfortunate day seven years ago. “I promise you won’t regret this.”
‘I really hope so,’ you thought.
Draco let go off your hand, sitting back down, thanking Merlin that you had such a forgiving heart. If it was him in your position, he wouldn’t’ve let you in the house. Honestly, he would’ve slammed the front door on your face. For a moment back there, he thought you were going to.
But you didn’t. Of course, you didn’t. Because even after years, even after all that he put you through, somehow, you still loved him. You hated yourself for it. But one can’t help who they love; you can’t control who you fall in love with.
You both stared at each other, a new energy that wasn’t there before, when you opened the door today thinking it’d be Ron or Luna dropping by.
“Can I kiss you?” Draco whispered nervously. Was he overstepping? ‘Salazar, I shouldn’t have said anything. I should just be grateful that she’s giving me another chance,’ he thought, berating himself.
You hesitated for a bit. Did you want him to kiss you? Did you want to kiss him? ‘Of course, you do,’ you mentally scoffed at yourself.
You nodded timidly, looking down at the table. You heard the chair scrape against the floor as he stood up.
Draco made his way towards you, sweating with nerves. He took a deep breath trying to calm himself down. He leaned down on his knees beside you, lifting a shaky hand to the side of your face, bringing you to face him. He scanned your face, looking into your eyes, for any hesitation that would tell him he needed to back off. But he didn’t find any. He softly caressed your cheek with his thumb, gazing at you in awe. He thought you were the most beautiful thing in the world.
Draco slowly leaned in, his lips brushing against yours giving you a chance to pull back. When you didn’t, he pressed his lips against yours, relishing in the feeling that spread through his entire being. Your lips moved softly against his as your hands wrapped themselves around his neck, playing with the chain that lay under his jumper. Draco moved his other hand to the back of your neck winding up in your hair, pulling you closer to him. The kiss was gentle and tender, both of you savouring the feeling of the other in their arms after all these years.
You slowly pulled away when the need for oxygen became too great to ignore. But before you could put some distance between the two of you, Draco pulled you into a sudden hug. His arms wrapped around your waist, burying his face into your hair whilst your face buried itself into the crook of his neck.
Draco felt a small smile spread across your face against his skin.
‘Maybe it’ll all be okay,’ he thought.

D&D Quotes Without Context
Ravenloft, Hazlan Arc, part 5
"It’s cool. They stole it." "And you know this how?" "Magic." “90% of Ravenloft deaths are mysterious vanishings.” "Why does everything come out covered in glitter and … is that …" "Lube. I’ve got a few theories." "Please don’t share them."
OOC: This is a plan that ends with Strahd having fewer brides, his castle is in flames, and he’s lost his cape.
OOC: Our team consists of a horny pyromancer, a gnome who can fillete you in five seconds, an HP lovecraft protagonist with actual magic backing them up, a literal slab of iron with a face, and a guy with a "I went to the eternal city of Ryleth and all I got was PTSD and this lousy T shirt". Gorbash smashing his shield into their face: "Have! You! Considered! Therapy!" OOC: Good news is you guys will no longer be the most conspicuous guys at the masquerade now. Jonni: Challenge accepted! "Nyx, the bounty on stealing his fake mustache is still on."
"Lets see, gonna make Jonni Deathlock six, gonna make the cleric a Huecuva, the Dragonborn a skeleton warrior, make a wight with the gnome.... I don't think I can make an undead with the big guy but pretty sure Hazlik wants him personally." Gorebash is offended. "I beat the shit out of the witch-slaying sentient hammer that was trying to gank you and all I merit is a Skeleton Warrior! That hurts Nima. I expect CR3 or better or I'm taking my corpse business elsewhere." "I'm not powerful enough to make you a death knight, Sorry." Jonni: "Wow, Hazzy, you need better minions. We should kill her." OOC: Point is, if you can make liches or Death knights, Hazlik's already killed you and written his name over your grad thesis.
Jonni: "NOPE! No fey queens. Not after last time! Well… maybe just a few times…"
“Hey, I need to ask for some magic stuff, but also I need an outfit for a royal dinner. Something that says, I’m an ostentatious adventurer visitor to your lands, but also that I plan to spending this dinner in the cloak room with one or more of the serving maids.”
As it is most gauche to appear before a darklord with a warpick sized hole in the middle of one's chest.
"... This place has made green things seem ominous to me."
"A giant beanstalk, this is the most unique wizard's tower I've ever seen."
On that note you also notice behind the Beanstalk is what seems like a huge lagoon of bubbling green ooze. Edmund leans to the side to get a good look... Several zombies are working tossing corpses into it, as the corpses hit the ooze they dissolve into it. Edmund leans back to get a less good look before knocking.
"Since he hopefully can't hear us, Your boss is kind of a self absorbed egomaniac... if he didn't have so power I'm sure someone would have thrown a brick at him by now." “I know where we can find bricks.” "Supply of Bricks is not the issue, Jonni." “Everyone says that until the revolt starts. Pays to be prepared.”
“That explains it. You’re about the research, your boss is about applied power of dickery.”
“I hung around a magic school once to let the grad students study me for their thesis.”
“Oh, good fascist wizards. Why can’t we kill him again?” "Phenomenal cosmic power."
"Oh crud, the ooze someone merged some of the corpses together and brought them back to life as a new being. At least that is my wild guess as to what happened here." Willow blinks. "Um, this is unprecedented." “Nah, but usually you need lighting and some grave robbing.”
"I mean I grew a toe out of corn." Willow says, "Its not that far fetched."
"You think, therefore you are. Freedom is your right." “Weird, that magic red self driving wagon I met once said something similar.”
"The Elder Brain will deal with you eventually. You will never escape it." “Clan chief told me that the day I stole his mammoth after he found me with his daughter. Pretty sure that loser is still freezing his tiny grimbas off on fuck-stick mountain.”
at supper, to Mama: "I am forbidden from your kitchen for good reason, but I may require your assistance with my culinary dark arts for the feast." Mama gives you a dirty look. "Who are you trying to kill?" "Not kill, on purpose anyway, just a severe enough food coma."
"Yes, I already reminded the others we can't fake our deaths again." "Yeah that only works so often," Sergei says. Edmund lost a perfectly good watch that day.
OOC: THE FUCKING LENG FOLK HAVE UFOS! MOTHER-FUCKERS!
"Plus we owe you for sending the Sullivans our way. That was a well paying job." "Yeah, except I got those fleas on me and hallucinated I was a pawn broker sign. That was a weird afternoon."
As side effect of the dark cookery, Marshal's armor is well-oiled throughout the day, though Mama insists he be kept away from Jonni or pregnant women.
...you can see ominous black clouds of smoke coming from the wagon all that day. The rats and roaches circling it with anticipation. With the occasional black speech of "Double it." Mama comes rushing out after a bit, holding a rag on her face. "That.. is very ominous." “We’re gonna have to cast this back into the fires of its creation eventually.” "Marshal may serve the gods, but when he cooks he's channeling Asmodeus himself." OOC: The meal must be cast into the deep fryers of Mount McDoom. Only there can it be unmade.
Marshal's player: *rolls natural 20 on cooking check* GM: Congradulations, it's edible. Marshal: "It...is done..." "By all that is holy..." The chocolate is so dark, light cannot escape it’s surface. 50 pounds of butter per square inch. OOC: It occurs to me this is basically a more fucked up retelling of Snow White.
“Gor, going with plan C cup. You know what I like if he starts thinking he’s cute by offering choices of rewards.” "Try not to do anything that requires a rescue."
Marshall is clearly trying to spontaneously multiclass into psionics the way he's trying to vaporize Hazlik with his stare.
"I will draw." Hazlik smiles, places the cards before you, then steps the hell back. Jonni pat Edmunds shoulder and shakes his hand. “It’s been okay knowing you. You were one of the least dickish dudes I ever met. And part of a select few I didn’t want to punch in the balls.”
“You will. Briefly. That’s a promise from Jonathana, She Who Makes Torches of Men. Daughter of Eloise Wolf Slayer, outcast of the Mammoth Tribe, and consort of the 37th Princess of Fuck Mountain.“
OOC: Nima is someone we can actively reach to strangle to death. Dark lords are a bit out of choking range.
OOC: But.... and this is important: Will Edmund ever get pants? OOC: Strahd will consider it.
OOC: Like this is the dark powers going "He looked at me crossways, PUT HIM N THE HOLE."
OOC: If Ravenloft is a jail/prison, this is the equivalent of getting thrown in solitary confinement. OOC: Without pants.

the adventures of the graye wizard caliban: and the curse of spotifsploitation III
i'm eating panda express in the food court outside work with my week's wages in gold coins in my trademark italian leather sack (dolce & gabbana, $1000) at my side, when out of nowhere a shadowy figure carrying an identical dolce & gabbana italian leather sack bumps into me.
"ah, vi vam very vsorry," the figure says thickly.
"hey, don't worry about it," i say.
then, hoping to dispel the tension, i say "orange chicken. yum!"
i chopstick accordingly.
the figure laughs "va va va," bows, and departs.
i feel a warm rush of closeness for this mysterious stranger. i gotta admit, i'm a little suspicious of any figure wearing a trenchcoat and fedora (trilby?) who speaks in a thick but unplaceable accent and whose face is completely obscured by shadows. that's implicit bias, and i'm working on it, but i'm not going to pretend it's not there. so it's nice (and humbling) to be reminded that, hey, shadowy figures like eating orange chicken and carressing their D&G sack full of $37.50 in gold coins just like the rest of us. because the boundaries we put up are artificial: deep down, we're all the same.
it's only after i finish my meal that i realize the shadowy figure has exchanged my bag for their identical bag—and that this new bag is ticking. tick tick tick...
"my god!" i blurt out, as mallgoers turn and stare, "my coins have been replaced with identical tare weight in tiny clocks!"
the clocks explode. an oversized mouth appeared in thin air.
"this man faps," it says smugly.
then shrilly: "this man faps!"
and so the pattern repeats, ABABABABC, with C being a sonorous and melancholy delivery similar to whalesong. yeah, i said it, sonorous and melancholy. check out some youtube videos if you don't believe me.
a crowd surrounds me. i tried to leave, but the food court is a labyrinth, and wherever i turn the mouth follows a few feet behind. i began to sweat.
"what's he fap to?" a mall rat-person says. "fur-ry porn?"
the mouth seems to consider. "yes. furry porn."
"hyuk hyuk hyuk," the rat-person says. "fur-ry porn."
"you've got it all wrong!" i scream. "i am not a socialist!"
whoa. dead silence. where did that come from? i guess i have always wondered why furries seem to run leftist while anime aficionados span the whole political spectrum, because you could totally see it being the other way. i mean, there's a reason furry artists draw vore: they're obsessed with who's predator and who's prey. and when someone's into that stuff, is social darwinism really that far behind?
of course, you could spin it the other way: that when someone is totally committed to egalitarianism in everyday life, the old tooth-and-nail has got to come out somewhere. in that case, the question isn't "why are so many furries socialist?" it's "why aren't more socialists furries?" rousseau was into mommy femdom, so it's not crazy.
i should caveat with all of this that i have nothing against socialism (i am a proud member of new canaan wizard's union) or against furries (as a doujin reader, i empathize with their struggle against myriad oppressions). but, i have to admit, i would hate to be a furry socialist. i don't know, something about the combo just rubs me the wrong way.
i try to explain this to the crowd, but they don't take it well. lacking stones, they arm themselves with condiment bottles, napkin holders, salt-and-pepper shakers, cutlery. moments before i am seasoned, who steps between me and the crowd but—jesus christ!
"stop!" jesus christ says, his white robes aflutter and radiant. "let he who is without sin..."
here jesus trails off meaningfully, but since no one is holding a stone per se he can't finish the line. the crowd hesitates.
"but jesus," the mall rat-person says, "this man's a socialist. and a furry. we don't want his kind in the new canaan community mall."
"so!?" i shoot back at the self-hating furry, "like you've never jerked it to a girl with animal features? also, i'm not a furry, or a socialist."
"this is a christian community," a mall-mom spits out, "we don't engage in beastiality."
"yeah!" another guy shouts, a little protest-too-much. "i hate furries! kemonomimi are cute though."
"kemonomimi do not have souls," the mall mom says.
"come now," the first guy says. the arch of his eyebrows tells me he's decided to play the enlightened centrist, the schmuck. "kemonomimi have souls. animals have no souls. furries—"
"—have partial souls," i offer. "maybe 65%. it depends on the furry."
the mall-mom looks annoyed by this academic turn. "but only a whole-souled being can consent in the eyes of the lord. this is why—"
i cut in: "—but can any of us be truly said to be whole souled? are we not all sinners in the eyes of god?"
the crowd enters an uproar of spittle and heresy; i narrowly dodge a plume of sriracha. "hold on! maybe we should just ask him," someone suggests. the crowd turns to jesus for guidance.
"my poor, lost sheep," jesus says.
then jesus hesitates. maybe this was the wrong metaphor?
"THIS MAN FAPS!" the magic mouth says, for the last time, because i snap my fingers and hit it with a pink ray of Dispel Magic.
instead of disappearing, though, it makes a scratchy noise like a radio finding a signal.
nico says: please don't confront me with my failures i have not forgotten themmmmmmmmmm
the crowd weeps, rends garments, beats breasts. amidst the chaos i make my escape.
