I’m sure the Captain Time Travel association with Wilbur was entirely a joke between the writers that was also meant to somewhat foreshadow his role. Early on in the film we see Lewis has the lunchbox and then Wilbur shows up with the exact same logo claiming he’s from the future. It’s a little nod right?
But I want to take it a step further and actually propose there’s some lore we don’t know about, especially since the video game uses the logo for a sport in the future.
For the game, the developers likely didn’t know the association with a superhero in the film, it’s just a tiny little detail, and the game was designed to fit Wilbur’s image, hence the amount of lightning bolts in his room and on his Chargeball glove. But the logo is also present on the glove of the Chargeball champion, so to me that could be a connection between how the logo evolved into something for the sport.
Headcanon time!
The Chargeball/CTT connection and where it came from:
The logo behind Chargeball started as the insignia for a superhero that had been around since the 80s. Lewis had some of his merchandise in the form of a lunchbox and I believe he would’ve read a few of his comics. He would be a pop culture icon if he’d been printed on things, so Wilbur wearing his shirt wouldn’t have been off to Lewis. In fact Lewis would’ve thought he was a fan boy, especially with his time travel story.
Everything in the future was put together by Cornelius, so that means he designed the Chargeball glove with Wilbur in mind. I imagine he was offered a deal with a company to produce a new competitive sport, so he proposed the idea of adding the logo, and they loved it so they went through with it.
Captain Time Travel was perhaps in public domain so they were able to use the logo for themselves with no issue. Thus, the hero faded into obscurity with few knowing of the association, though it’s not clear on why Cornelius chose that design.
Wilbur and his relation to it:
He started playing Chargeball when he was 8 years old. He excelled in it greatly and by the time he was 10 he was competing in nationals with other kids his age, the tournaments of course being held in Todayland/Future City. You can see he has many trophies on his shelf in his room so he would’ve won a lot of games.
I believe sports like baseball would’ve actually faded out by then and been replaced by technologically enforced sports like this one (sorry Mike). Or, baseball would’ve evolved to use electronic balls and bats. Though it would be considered more primitive because it’s an old game that’s been altered slightly.
What exactly is Chargeball?
It’s… kind of hard to explain if you’ve played the game. The sport itself is accessible in Wilbur’s room, and you start it by walking up to his TV and pressing play.
So, is it all… virtual?
Wilbur could very well could be using a form of virtual reality to play, even when he fights the champion, it could entirely be within VR.
Except… the glove can actually fire electricity. And that’s how you play- by shooting balls of electricity towards the opponents side.
So, does it take place in VR or real life?
I think it can be a blend of both: Wilbur uses VR in his room to practice, but in reality you can actually compete in a real space with another player when you’re in a tournament ring.
Regardless, there would’ve been some law suits having taken place when it was first popularised. Wilbur uses it as a weapon in the game, so it’s very capable of hurting people or infrastructure. It implies it’s a very dangerous sort of sport too. In game it’s not enough to hurt other characters, but it’s enough to deal intense damage to robots and bio-mechanical beings (such as the ants).

Funny scenario that means absolutely nothing
Batman, showing DNA results:
Captain Marvel, a very much adult looking hero, seeing the match to his very much a 12 year old civilian identity:
Batman:
Captain Marvel: I can explain—
Batman: No need, I can imagine you’d want some amount of secrecy to avoid confusion when your younger self exists concurrently in the timeline
Captain Marvel: ???
Batman: I’ve worked with Booster Gold and other time travelers to know it can be somewhat awkward at best and precarious at worst with two of the same people exiting at the same time when one time travels
Captain Marvel: ?!?
Booster Gold: Welcome to the time traveling heroes club my man!

Okay, hear me out. TOS 4 is the time travel movie. So AOS 4 is the time travel movie, but it's not about whales.
It's about a conversation AOS Spock had with TOS Spock before the latter died, when TOS Spock mentioned that things didn't really go irrevocably wrong in his universe until Admiral Kirk disappeared with the Enterprise-B. AOS Spock wonders what repercussions this has had on his own, somewhat more distressing universe, and when the AOS Enterprise bridge crew finds itself assigned to protect Earth by examining an unstable temporal ribbon that seems to be crossing through the galaxy--well. Spock wonders. Is this the Nexus? They find out soon enough that it is. And since Spock's the first one in, technically, the Nexus gives him what he wants, which is what the Nexus has--the ability to cross universes as well.
Now everyone, out in two groups on separate missions has to resist succumbing to the temptations of the world of the Nexus while they try to rescue Admiral Kirk, making sure his mission is still completed (so as not to destroy anything for the TNG folks' reality) but that he survives, so that they can figure out how to get through the Nexus and pop him back in his universe right as he's supposed to leave on the Enterprise-B. AOS Spock is sure he can figure out those calculations somehow. Some of the temptations are funny, some are sad, but we find out where Uhura and Sulu and Scotty are in their lives, and where they want to be.
Like Spock got to meet TOS Spock, TOS Kirk gets to meet Kirk (and Spock, and McCoy, and eventually the rest of the bridge crew). AOS Kirk learns that the life he's been envious of all this time didn't turn out well in the end because TOS Kirk ran toward duty alone despite what he had, and TOS Kirk learns that a) he could have suffered so much more loss, b) he's just one of a set of infinite possibilities, just like AOS Kirk is, and c) he's been wasting eternity exploring those other possibilities of happiness in the Nexus when he could have been content with what he already had.
He finds out what happened to TOS Spock, and it's agonizing. He sees this weird young Spock and Bones, both of whom could bench-press him, and he misses his Spock and Bones so much that the Nexus starts trying to change the fantasy world, to their detriment. It's only when the crew sticks as close as possible together and all concentrates on wanting the same thing that they're all able to shift the Nexus to their goal. Then Picard shows up. Things get complicated.
We hear, from Generations: And in the end, what did it get me? An empty house...Not this time.
and from Star Trek V: I knew I wouldn't die because the two of you were with me.
I thought you said men like us don't have families.
I was wrong.
TOS Kirk decides that, yes, he wants to leave, and he wants to go back. But they're not entirely sure how to line up Picard's plan and TOS Kirk's plan and the AOS plan and have it all work. It's a lot to figure out.
To simplify things, AOS Kirk decides he's going to volunteer to go die in TOS Kirk's place so that they can return TOS Kirk and at least one of them will have a decent ending, because his own life still feels so uncertain. This seems like it's going to work until his Spock and Bones both read him the riot act. But it's Bones who really goes off.
Karl Urban gets a great speech as Bones about how both Spock and Kirk met their counterparts, a chance which he will likely never be afforded and neither of them learned anything from it. Spock went off and punctured the walls of a universe even though TOS Spock indirectly destroyed AOS Vulcan through it. Kirk is trying to run away and die again because he doesn't know what to do with himself, even though TOS Kirk had an unhappy ending to a good life because at the end he ran away and tried to die again. Bones just tries to pick up the pieces. You don't fix things by tearing them apart, and you don't fix them by tearing yourself apart. You fix them by healing the rift. AOS Kirk's eyes light up. They're going to fix the rift.
They're going to give this random meaningless villain what he wants, throw him into the Nexus, he can have infinite joy, then they're going to seal it and heal it.
After all, AOS Bones says. He had a drink with TOS Kirk at the man's insistence, even though the Saurian Brandy didn't taste like anything, and Kirk told him he could cure anything from a rock to a rainy day. The tasteless brandy? Apparently Bones is the person who can actually perceive that nothing here is real, so he doesn't want anything except for everyone to remain safe.
From Beyond: Better to die saving lives than to live with taking them.
Bones says: Better that no one dies at all. This time, no one dies.
So TOS Kirk and the Bridge crew go with Picard to subdue Soran and honestly, it's not that tough with all of them. Nobody had to die. And as they fix the rift, with TOS Kirk and Picard's Enterprise about to be thrown back into their universe on one side and the AOS Enterprise into theirs on the other, Picard suddenly realizes that he never clarified how they were getting Kirk back to his own time. And how will they explain his status?
TOS Kirk grins. Good thing I know how to slingshot around the sun, he says. And when they report me missing, I'll just say I didn't go in the first place. Clerical error. Who are they to argue with an alive man?
AOS Kirk has so many questions, but the two of them merely salute each other, and then they're thrown back.
Back in his own time, TOS Kirk walks into a Starfleet Academy apartment, and hear him say:
Bones, I heard you got laid up with Andorian flu and Spock was taking care of you, and this I just had to see! How many hypos? Don't let him talk you out of any, Spock. They're all important, every single one, even ones he hasn't heard of.
A pause.
Yes, I know I said Starfleet needed me. I just thought maybe you two needed me more this time.
Back in the AOS universe and Spock's calculations are totally off in getting home, because he didn't account for the gravitational pull of--
Vulcan. The planet that apparently still exists.
TOS Spock still came into their universe--he was always going to live longer than his ties to his Enterprise family. But his actions had been tempered, less destructive, which had clearly resulted in the Enterprise being able to save the planet. They were going to have to find out how.
Not everything had changed, of course. Nero had still been Nero, they had still come together. But Jim only vaguely remembers dying, now, as though it had happened to somebody else. He feels more settled than he ever has before. Some of that's the time travel revision, and some of that's the meeting with his alternate self, and some of that's Bones' yelling. Spock feels a sense of closure. Bones is just relieved that nobody died this time.
Uhura suddenly and quietly alerts them to the chronometer. It's a week before they left, which means there are now two Enterprise bridge crews on Earth, and that they need to lie low for a week to avoid running into themselves.
What should we do, Captain? she asks.
Jim smiles.
Let's go to Yosemite.

Can’t get the idea of Rebels era old Rex Gregor and Wolffe time travelling.
And i don’t mean elderly consciousness put back into their younger bodies kind of time travelling, i mean old 60-70sh biologically, sagging skin and beer bellied Rex Wolffe and Gregor back in time, kicking ass, taking names and bringing down the empire before it officially begins
Mostly this comes for me wanting old Wolffe who with gained knowledge and insight into what the Corries and Fox more specifically endured, plus a little bit of emotional growth and brain damage deciding that the best course of action to stop his brothers neck being snapped is to go rogue and kidnap him.
Fox wakes up from like his 4 and a half hour designated sleeping period to the blurry sight of an unusual wrinkled Wolffe standing right beside his bed. He doesnt even have time to say ‘what the fuck’ before he’s been stunned and flung over old Wolffe’s shoulder and is then snuck out to be stashed away somewhere while Wolffe works out how to kidnap everyone else.
Also! Old Rex meeting young Rex and taking every opportunity to make fun of him. The 501st adore old Rex, young Rex does not.
Old!Rex: y’know when I was your age…
Young!Rex: When you were my age you were me now shut the fuck up
And also:
Fives: Will we all be pudgy when we’re older or is that just a you thing?
Rex: 🤬
Speaking of getting older, there’s also the fact that most of the clones didn’t actually get to Rex’s age and i think this would be really painful for the Old Relics Gang too. Like you knew how young your brothers were when the died but seeing them makes it hit harder.
Cody is not thrilled at being treated like a younger brother even if happy that Rex reached old age.
Where is Gregor in this you ask? Probably helping Wolffe kidnap people. Rex is not impressed with the short term planning even if he kind of wanted to do the same.

Very very dumb Bleach AU idea where Ichigo(at full power basically soul king level) goes back in time to fix everything ends up way further back like young captain commander time, he's able to fully kill Yhwach and prevent him doing anything at all, no sleep no future quincy war, he also gets involved in making soul society...more so just vetoing anything like central 46 because nothing involving them ended well, and should make things easier and less likely for anyone to manipulate.
He travels around for a bit making sure everything settled and no other persons gonna try to take over the world before not really knowing what to do... when he next checks in on soul society gotei 13's all established and everything seems to be going well, but when he checks in on captain commander he's like 'Well we need someone in charge'
'Isn't that you old man?'
'I can't be fully in charge of all of soul society I run the gotei 13... no we need someone else to run soul society'
'...'
'...no'
Ichigo is now on the run from all the captains who are trying to get him to take over things because a) he's insanely powerful b) he's actually good and not corrupted and will actually care about people and not just the nobles c) He has common sense.
'DON'T YOU HAVE THE SOUL KING FOR THIS?'
'Ichigo I am still convinced you are the soul king'
'I'm not!'
'You haven't aged a single day in the hundreds of years i've known you and you literally bitch slapped Ywatch into oblivion, you also seem to have all the powers..ALL OF THEM'
'...I...I...I mean your wrong... bit I do get it'
And this goes on for centuries Ichigo tying very hard not to have to rule soul society and convince people he isn't the soul king. Only her keeps ending up doing this because he keeps ending up adopting younger versions of captains and others. (It started with the captain commander sending little Jushiro, Kyoraku and a tiny feral Unohana to stop Ichigo he just went big brother mode... he is the one person Unohana will listen to and not try to murder...well when she tries to murder him it's more a game then an actually murder attempt)
Just Ichigo who ends up being big brother to like all of Seireitei, he doesn't age at all but even when the others get older them him still totally see him as their big brother. Him always having at least one or two following him around like ducklings.
Some hollows figuring out how to evolve to arrancar naturally... Ichigo was in Hucheo mundo for a while and his weird reality breaking powers might have affected things. Shinigami are totally chill with them because all of them have seen these types of hollow powers before most grew up seeing Ichigo use them casually. (Also Unohana wants to fight them)
Well until Grimmjow shows up and him and Ichigo are fight flirting just being very weird and all of seretiei are ready to give a shovel talk. Captain meetings are them plotting 'Big brother can do way better'. Captain commander is just watching all this amused.
(None of them realize Grimmjow thought process is
'Wait if I date Kurosaki I get to fight all of them... OI KUROSAKI WE'RE DATING NOW!'
'...WAIT WHAT?')

Ahsoka is bisexual but specifically in a way that her partner cannot be too concerned with Being Cis. Like she'll date cis dudes but only the ones who are like "I mean yeah I'm a dude, but if someone they/thems me I'm not gonna throw a fit, gender is fluid, the galaxy contains multitudes, and Man is just the box I'm closest to fitting into." Girls need to be at least some level of GNC (mainly thinking of Bo-Katan). Mandalorians are easy partner fodder because like Yeah they have gender but it's like eight slots down on the Things That Make Up My Identity for them.
As far as my ships for her go…
Bo-Katan: gender appears to be Lesbian-as-a-gender (is actually bi)
Jango (time-travel): appears excessively masculine, but buys into the whole "we don't do gendered pronouns" angle of Mando culture where the collective gender is Soldier and is cis by default
Quinlan (time-travel): at least a little GNC (long hair, painted nails type of gnc), would just shrug and go with it if they/them-ed
Rex: actually Fully cis but still mostly just like "IDK I mean I don't feel like a woman or nb so… yeah, I'm a man." He's very masc and it's very funny for Ahsoka, because she's generally not into dudes who are excessively masc in a cis way, but for some reason it's fine with Rex, he gives off "bi dude who offers to drive drag queens and trans folk home so they feel safe" cisdude trans ally energy

There's someone with Fox.
Rex squints his eyes. There's a small, dark-haired woman standing next to Fox. She is looking up to him and saying something, and from the downwards tilt of Fox's head, even with his helmet on, Rex knows that Fox is saying something back.
She looks awfully familiar, but at the same time Rex knows that he has not met her before. It's a somewhat paradoxical feeling, but she's so familiar that he would know if he had ever seen her before this.
He watches them for a while, but mainly her. She is tiny, in both height and overall stature, and she is wearing comfortable, yet high-end clothes. Rex has spent enough time with Padmé by now to recognise when something has been made with enough care and money. Her hair is braided, rather intricately, into two crossing bands at the back of her head. She looks a lot like all the women in the Alderaanian delegation, with the hair and the clothes, he decides.
Perhaps she is. Rex knows that Fox is rather close with Senator Organa these days, as the Senator has been a good ally to the Guard. It makes the most sense. Perhaps she is a relative of someone in the delegation, and Rex has seen those said relatives before.
The thought feels wrong, for some reason, but it's the best he can come up with for now, especially since they seem very comfortable with each other. Fox doesn't let himself be comfortable like that with many people.
Anakin comes to stand next to him.
"What is it?" He asks Rex.
"Nothing, was just watching them", Rex says, and nods his head towards Fox and the woman. "My brother's there, and she looks familiar, so I was trying to see if I recognised her."
Anakin looks over to Fox and the woman as well, and that is the moment Rex sees her going awfully still. Then she's whipping her head around, and locking her dark eyes with Rex and Anakin.
She looks-
Rex blinks. She looks at Rex, for a split second, and then looks at Anakin, and even from this far, Rex sees how her eyes turn hard and cold. She steps closer to Fox, partially in front of him, like she is attempting to shield him from them, even when she's almost two heads shorter than Fox, and not the one wearing full-body armor.
She takes Fox's hand into hers, and says something. Rex sees how Fox looks up at him and Anakin as well, and instead of coming to greet Rex, he lets her turn him around and walks away.
He looks up at Anakin, who has a deep scowl on his face.
"Sir?" Rex calls. Anakin blinks, too, and the scowl clears slightly.
"She looks familiar", he mumbles. "And she felt like...I don't know."
His comlink beeps, and he turns to speak to it. Rex turns to look back at Fox and the woman.
There's something hanging at her waist. Rex can see a glimpse of it when the long hem of her shirt shifts a bit as she walks.
It looks a lot like-
They go down some steps, and Rex cannot see them anymore. He glances back at Anakin, and at his lightsaber, for once securely on him.
He had seen correct. Rex is sure of it.
He is also very sure that the woman is not a Jedi.

Trying something new! Left to right:
Fordo, Fox (tattoo is from ‘and through spaces in the dark’ by blackkat, stretch marks concept from Cacodaemonia), and Rex
art rambling + lineart and og sketches below the cut!
Tumblr media
I was travelling while sleep deprived when I decided to clean up some paper sketches to digital, and to avoid obsessing over lines I switched brush to a ruthless 0 stabilisation fine tip (default on procreate).
It was surprisingly relaxing, especially because the paper sketch took out a lot of the fiddling I would have done otherwise.
So then… how to colour? And I decided to be as obnoxious as possible and use chromatic aberration + halftone and ngl it’s FunTM!!! I have one more page of sketches to clean out + colour, so let’s see if the magic will happen again! 🤞

"Captain."
The quill scratches roughly along the page, too aggressive for the paper softened and hardened over time by wear and tear and seawater air. Ink spills, making a mess of the log's entry, splotching over fingers and staining them almost black in the cabin's dim light, a flame flickering in its hold to the right, unaware of the tension in the air. Unaware of the captain's rapidly beating heart and his hands clenching around the quill until he fears it might break.
Although the fear he feels is not on behalf of the quill in his hand.
"Captain."
His first mate is insistent on gaining his attention, but he refuses to acknowledge that she already has it. He knows it can only mean one thing if she comes to him at this hour, if she seeks him out despite clear orders – or, rather, because of them.
"Steve."
He looks up, his jaw clenched, and the quill breaks, spilling ink all over his palm where the sharp tip is cutting into his skin with a spark of pain that pales in comparison to what he can find in her features.
Robin nods, imperceptible to every other soul in this universe. Every soul that is not him, attuned to her every move, every twitch of a brow, every hint of a frown, and every gesture that she dares him to overlook if only to have an excuse later on.
But she nods. And Steve swallows.
"It's him. He's back."
It's the captain who nods now, incapable of doing anything else, and feeling as his sanity slips away from him, through the cracks in the floorboards and sinking down to the bottom of the ocean to join his heart and his conscience. All have long been lost at the cause of one man.
"Thank you," he says, though his voice does not feel like his own, and the candle beside him flickers once more as if to signal that, really, he shouldn't be sounding like that. He blinks, deliberately, because he has been staring for too long and she doesn't need to know that he has been losing himself since the second she appeared at the door.
"Steve–"
"That's Captain to you."
She swallows, defiant, but choosing her battles wisely. He is grateful, for he hasn't the strength to argue any more than he has the strength to stand upright in this moment.
"Captain," she says, deliberate but gentle, because she knows and she forgives. "Are you alright?"
"No," Steve says, and his voice remains remarkably steady in this confession. "I'll be out in a second. Make sure they do not to say a word to him. Shoot everyone who does, or throw them overboard. Nobody talks to The– to Munson but me. Understood?"
"Understood," she says, straightening her posture, though her eyes remain worried and wary. There is more she wants to say, but Steve dismisses her before leaning his fists on the table and breathing deeply. The tip of the quill buries deeper into his palm and he closes his fingers around it, hard, to keep himself anchored and distract from one pain with another.
Theo is back. Theodore Munson. Though he will have a new name, Steve knows. But those eyes... Those eyes never changed, not once in all this time, and Steve fears that he will break apart if he has to look at them again and find no ounce of recognition. No memory of words whispered in the dark, of gentle touches to roughest scars, of time spent together in different lifetimes.
Steve plucks the tip soiled in ink and blood from his palm and reaches for a book hidden underneath a false bottom in the first drawer of the desk. A book with the initials T M pressed into fine, deep red leather.
He writes, with blood and ink in unsteady hold,
27th March He came is back. I wish he weren't.
@vampeddie remember me talking about this before i disappeared? remember how you went insane? remember that you like me?

AU If Clone wars Anakin traveled into the future and met post season one rebels Ahsoka:
Anakin: [Poofs into existence mid air and falls flat on his face onto the ground]
Anakin: Ow, that hurt! [Lifts his head up] Obi-Wan? Whe- [See’s Ahsoka]
Ahsoka:
Anakin:
Ahsoka:
Anakin: Snips? Wow I must’ve hit my head really hard, you look old, and like really depressed. Like Obi-Wan when Cody drags him to the med bay.
Ahsoka: [Tears up but continues to silently stare]
Anakin: Uh, Snips?
Ahsoka: Shush, I’m waiting for the force vision part where you yell at me for failing you and leaving the order.
Anakin: Force vision? Snips you could never fail me- WAIT YOU WHAT?!
Ahsoka: Hm?
Anakin: How are you so calm??? My Ahsoka would be bouncing off the walls by now.
Ahsoka: I don’t feel anything. Too much has happened for a lifetime and I want to call quits. I’m for sure not your Ahsoka.
Anakin: Oh force. Where’s Obi-Wan?
Ahsoka: Probably Dead.
Anakin:
Anakin: What in the name of the force happened here?!
Ahsoka:
Ahsoka: . . .
Ahsoka: You.
Anakin:
Anakin: To be fair that actually checks out.
Ahsoka: If you’re not a force vision could I get a hug please? The last person I hugged was Rex before I died for the second time.
Anakin: Of course- Wait, WHAT?!
