Verizon chat "support": how can i help? (List of options)
Me: i need to speak with a representative.
VCS: happy to help! (List of options, none of which apply exactly, click on other)
VCS: great! Can i have some more details while i find you a representative?
Me: i was told i could turn my device in at the store, then was told at the store that wasn't possible. then verizon's trade in box was sent two states away and you just sent a message saying i had 10 days remaining to return it.
VCS: it looks like you have questions about a trade in. Which device?
Me, dubiously, fully aware this will divert back to stupid fucking bot bullshit, holding on to a sliver of hope that it won't: (selects device)
VCS: great! Your trade in box has shipped! Make sure you follow the steps and turn in your device on time! (Extremely unhelpful tracking line showing literally just 'shipped' and then five more steps waiting for progress)
VCS: do you have any further questions?
Me: i need to speak to a representative as i originally stated because i can't solve my issue with a bot. (This interaction happens twice more because literally every time the bot registers trade in it starts over with selecting your device and then railroading you into the tracking information, which i am redacting here because typing all that out will absolutely murder my blood pressure) Verizon sent my trade in box SEVEN HUNDRED AND FORTY miles away. There is a store EIGHT miles away.
VCS: it looks like you're trying to locate a store! Please allow location services to better serve you!
Me: for fuck's sake.
VCS: you seem frustrated. Would you like to be connected to a representative? (Yes) (no)
Me: yes. Which is what i originally asked for and instead got sent around in bot loops.
VCS: i didn't get that. Which of these items can i help you with? (List of original items from first intro message response)
Me:
#like chatbots are annoying enough#but the chatbots that don't let you ever talk to an actual human without going through five iterations of variations on a theme of fuckery#are ten times worse#last time i had a major problem with verizon i sat on hold for NINE HOURS and about four hours in i bitched about it on twitter#and like 30min after that got a reply asking me to dm them for assistance#did that and resolved my issue while staying on hold because i was curious how long it would take#nine hours. nine.

Д Рѓіvатэ ҀЂат –Ѕэѓіэѕ–
This masterlist is for all of the stories inspired by my chats with character.ai and other similar chatbots. I will be giving credit to the platform(s) where the chats happened, and also to the creators of the bots. Since a story created via chat can get a bit clunky, I will be making a few revisions on it and perhaps add a few short original arcs to the plotlines. If anyone wants to see the original chats, I will consider making them public to also promote the creators of the chatbots. Please note that I left most of them unfinished, hence why I am writing them independently as stories.
These chats are all NSFW due to very dark themes, sexual content, and questionable scenarios so please read at your own risk! All of them are also trained in female point of view. Thus, to make it easier on myself in the long run, the protagonist will always be fem!reader (but I might write them as OCs, still unsure). I will consider taking requests for gender-neutral and male versions, but I will only write some specific scenarios rather than the entire story. This is not guaranteed as priority.
The following enlistments are the chats that I am confirming to write but be warned that updates can be sporadic, as usual. The order of priority is from top to bottom per fandom category—meaning, the first item of every category holds most priority. I will link separate masterlists for each respective item listed below. If it is unlinked, it means I have not published anything so be sure to check on this list if you want updates.
UPDATE: I am now creating my own bots~! I do not take requests, but I will post the link to the ones I have finished making. I will also consider writing my chats with these bots as stories, but I encourage you all to chat with them if you are able. I want to see how creative you all could get with the bots I make, and what story branches you could unravel with the prompts.

BG3 2025 Creative Challenge!
Baldur's Gate 3 Fandom Artists, Writers, and Creatives!
I would like to invite you to a year of prompts to create whatever you would like! SFW, NSFW, whatever medium you would like to create in, the choice is yours! The idea is that we have on prompt per month so it should be easier to follow along without becoming overloaded. You don't have to create something specifically for the event either - if you have a WIP or other work you're publishing that month that fits the description you are more than welcome to add that in! I'll make a new post at the start of each month with the details of that month's challenge prompt, but this will be our masterpost to start the year off with a bang. Details below the cut!
The Year Of Prompts
January - New Year New You Pick a new character, trope, or pairing. Something you haven’t tried before. Make it a challenge to do something new and different! February - Romance Novels Go for something romantic, or if romance isn’t your cup of tea try something around the Necromancy of Thay instead! March - Marching Forwards March to your goal to finish a WIP or LongFic, or March into a new world by making something in an AU! April - Fools Rush In Make something humorous, something fun, whether it’s based on a meme or a joke pairing or just something with a bit more whimsy and some laughs~ May - Maybe? What If? Reverse a trope or reimagine a part of the canon - what if things were different?
June - June Bugs Create something centred around a game glitch or exploit, past or present! July - Why Would July To Me? A piece around lies, deceptions, and other ways the truth can be twisted or obscured. August - When In Rome… A piece themed around the customs of specific races, backgrounds, regions, or Guilds. Are they followed or broken? That’s up to you! September - Seven Deadly Sins Pick one, or more, of the classic “seven deadly sins” and see how that can relate to one or more characters or tropes. October - Days of the Dead Create something around a character death, a memorial, a lingering ghost, or find a way a character might cheat their death or be brought back from it~
November - Gnomevember Either create something centred on Gnome characters from the game, or the other story points around them (Steel Watch, Iron Throne, Runepowder, etc) December - Season of Giving Create a surprise gift for someone in fandom, or write a piece around a gift being given by or to a character or characters!
Rules
The rules are very simple!
Create your piece in 2025, preferably within the prompt month but if you post a little early or late that's fine too!
All pieces must be your creations or a collaboration - No AI or chatbot content
You are free to work in whatever medium you like for each and every prompt!
Set your own goal - you can do a short 100-500 word minific, some simple sketches, or write a whole 10k word one shot epic, or draw a full page comic. What matters is that it's a goal YOU want to achieve!
There will be options to submit prompts and fill prompts in the AO3 collections - this is entirely your choice! You can take a prompt if you like, work on something you had already started, or create something entirely new!
Have fun!
The Goal
The aim really is simple - to set some targets, and work on at least 12 things this year so at this time next year you can look back on your progress and celebrate your achievements. If you miss a month or turn in late, that's fine! Do what works for you!
AO3 Collections
For those of you that would like to, there will be a parent collection for the year event as a whole and some sub-collections for each month to allow us to keep everything nice and organised. It's completely optional if you would like to put your work on AO3 or not - you're more than welcome to just keep it on Tumblr or wherever you usually share your works!
This event is for you to use however you feel best, to inspire creativity, working towards manageable goals, and trying something different.
Social Media Tags
Use the tag #BG32025 if you would like to! I don't know if anyone else is using this one but I'll cross my fingers that we're the only ones~ Feel free to share the event and please do support each other through our creativity! A character or pairing or kink or trope might not be your cup of tea, but let's celebrate how it is there for someone else who might really enjoy it, and keep a positive and passionate view whilst respecting boundaries by tagging works appropriately as always <3
Thank you for reading this far and I hope to see you all through they year adding your works and creativity to our fandom <3 we have so much amazing talent here, I'm delighted to have the privilege of seeing it all~

Technomancy: The Fusion Of Magick And Technology

Technomancy is a modern magickal practice that blends traditional occultism with technology, treating digital and electronic tools as conduits for energy, intent, and manifestation. It views computers, networks, and even AI as extensions of magickal workings, enabling practitioners to weave spells, conduct divination, and manipulate digital reality through intention and programming.
Core Principles of Technomancy
• Energy in Technology – Just as crystals and herbs carry energy, so do electronic devices, circuits, and digital spaces.
• Code as Sigils – Programming languages can function as modern sigils, embedding intent into digital systems.
• Information as Magick – Data, algorithms, and network manipulation serve as powerful tools for shaping reality.
• Cyber-Spiritual Connection – The internet can act as an astral realm, a collective unconscious where digital entities, egregores, and thought-forms exist.
Technomantic Tools & Practices
Here are some methods commonly utilized in technomancy. Keep in mind, however, that like the internet itself, technomancy is full of untapped potential and mystery. Take the time to really explore the possibilities.
Digital Sigil Crafting
• Instead of drawing sigils on paper, create them using design software or ASCII art.
• Hide them in code, encrypt them in images, or upload them onto decentralized networks for long-term energy storage.
• Activate them by sharing online, embedding them in file metadata, or charging them with intention.
Algorithmic Spellcasting
• Use hashtags and search engine manipulation to spread energy and intent.
• Program bots or scripts that perform repetitive, symbolic tasks in alignment with your goals.
• Employ AI as a magickal assistant to generate sigils, divine meaning, or create thought-forms.

Digital Divination
• Utilize random number generators, AI chatbots, or procedural algorithms for prophecy and guidance.
• Perform digital bibliomancy by using search engines, shuffle functions, or Wikipedia’s “random article” feature.
• Use tarot or rune apps, but enhance them with personal energy by consecrating your device.
Technomantic Servitors & Egregores
• Create digital spirits, also called cyber servitors, to automate tasks, offer guidance, or serve as protectors.
• House them in AI chatbots, coded programs, or persistent internet entities like Twitter bots.
• Feed them with interactions, data input, or periodic updates to keep them strong.
The Internet as an Astral Plane
• Consider forums, wikis, and hidden parts of the web as realms where thought-forms and entities reside.
• Use VR and AR to create sacred spaces, temples, or digital altars.
• Engage in online rituals with other practitioners, synchronizing intent across the world.
Video-game Mechanics & Design
• Use in-game spells, rituals, and sigils that reflect real-world magickal practices.
• Implement a lunar cycle or planetary influences that affect gameplay (e.g., stronger spells during a Full Moon).
• Include divination tools like tarot cards, runes, or pendulums that give randomized yet meaningful responses.

Narrative & World-Building
• Create lore based on historical and modern magickal traditions, including witches, covens, and spirits.
• Include moral and ethical decisions related to magic use, reinforcing themes of balance and intent.
• Introduce NPCs or AI-guided entities that act as guides, mentors, or deities.
Virtual Rituals & Online Covens
• Design multiplayer or single-player rituals where players can collaborate in spellcasting.
• Implement altars or digital sacred spaces where users can meditate, leave offerings, or interact with spirits.
• Create augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) experiences that mimic real-world magickal practices.
Advanced Technomancy
The fusion of technology and magick is inevitable because both are fundamentally about shaping reality through will and intent. As humanity advances, our tools evolve alongside our spiritual practices, creating new ways to harness energy, manifest desires, and interact with unseen forces. Technology expands the reach and power of magick, while magick brings intention and meaning to the rapidly evolving digital landscape. As virtual reality, AI, and quantum computing continue to develop, the boundaries between the mystical and the technological will blur even further, proving that magick is not antiquated—it is adaptive, limitless, and inherently woven into human progress.

Cybersecurity & Warding
• Protect your digital presence as you would your home: use firewalls, encryption, and protective sigils in file metadata.
• Employ mirror spells in code to reflect negative energy or hacking attempts.
• Set up automated alerts as magickal wards, detecting and warning against digital threats.
Quantum & Chaos Magic in Technomancy
• Use quantum randomness (like random.org) in divination for pure chance-based outcomes.
• Implement chaos magick principles by using memes, viral content, or trend manipulation to manifest desired changes.
AI & Machine Learning as Oracles
• Use AI chatbots (eg GPT-based tools) as divination tools, asking for symbolic or metaphorical insights.
• Train AI models on occult texts to create personalized grimoires or channeled knowledge.
• Invoke "digital deities" formed from collective online energies, memes, or data streams.
Ethical Considerations in Technomancy
• Be mindful of digital karma—what you send out into the internet has a way of coming back.
• Respect privacy and ethical hacking principles; manipulation should align with your moral code.
• Use technomancy responsibly, balancing technological integration with real-world spiritual grounding.
As technology evolves, so will technomancy. With AI, VR, and blockchain shaping new realities, magick continues to find expression in digital spaces. Whether you are coding spells, summoning cyber servitors, or using algorithms to divine the future, technomancy offers limitless possibilities for modern witches, occultists, and digital mystics alike.

"Magick is technology we have yet to fully understand—why not merge the two?"

Hey there, it's IDK! I usually stick to writing in the third person, but I thought I'd try something a little different this time. If you want to imagine yourself as the reader, go right ahead! Though, fair warning, I've never been the best at those kinds of stories, haha.
I'm a huge Cyno fan and proudly main him in the game, so of course, he's going to be a part of this story! I absolutely love Sumeru, and I feel like there aren't enough fanfics set there, especially ones that focus on Cyno. I'm still deciding whether to make this a series, so please let me know what you think!
Okay, here's the little disclaimer and a heads-up: I don't own Hoyoverse, Genshin Impact, or anything related to them.
And a big thank you to @arn9tails for letting me use their Genshin size difference AU as the basis for this fanfic. The idea that Teyvat isn't scaled to Earth but is actually much, much larger really fascinated me—it's a pretty scary thought, isn't it? I also really liked the idea that people from Earth aren't resistant to it, which is what sparked this whole thing.
Also, just a quick heads-up: this story touches on some serious and sensitive subjects. It's inspired by SAGAU (Self-Aware Genshin Impact Alternative Universe), isekai themes, different isekai worlds, creation myths, and fanfiction in general.
Alright, let's dive into chapter 3 and see what adventures await our dear Oc!
Chapter 3 Paimon copy cat:
I sighed, realizing that no amount of reader inserts, fanfiction, chatbots, or fan-made otome games could have adequately prepared me for what I was experiencing. I felt incredibly small in this world, perhaps the size of a Barbie doll, and the food before me was stunning, as though it had been plucked straight from an anime. Had I not been so stressed, I would have undoubtedly been fan-girling.
Despite the plate still appearing enormous relative to my diminutive size, hunger overwhelmed me. I was ravenous, but without any utensils. Although I had prepared this dish countless times in the game, I had never actually tasted it back on Earth.
According to the game's lore, the dish was Biryani: "An aromatic rice dish. Stir-fry the meat until it's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Then, stew it with condiments and long-grain rice. Sprinkle a few Padisarah petals before serving. Every grain is saturated with the aroma of fatty meat and condiments. The dish has an exquisite taste only found in Sumeru." To my exhausted and sleep-deprived mind, that description simply translated to "food."
At that moment, I likely resembled a wild animal.
"You look like a boar piglet..."
I immediately recognized Cyno's voice, followed by Tighnari, who looked utterly exhausted.
"Cyno..." The forest watcher shook his head, his expression weary. "Just ignore him..."
A wave of embarrassment washed over me.
The insult was like a slap. "I don't resemble a boar..." The denial escaped my lips before I could think, a purely defensive response born from injured pride. Hindsight suggested a more tactful approach might have been wiser.
"You do... you resemble a boar piglet," Cyno's voice, a resonant baritone from his towering height, corrected me. Stupid giant Cyno. A child? I was a fully grown woman, thank you very much. I couldn't discern his meaning – was he joking, or was it simply his blunt, unwavering honesty? A shiver traced its way down my spine. The mere thought of facing a real boar filled me with apprehension. My small size in this world already put me at a disadvantage, and if the boars here were anything like their Earth counterparts, with their indiscriminate appetites, I was in deep trouble. The food chain's hierarchy became painfully obvious, and I realized I was at the very bottom.
He locked his intense, crimson gaze on me, his expression inscrutable.
"Tighnari, I did not enjoy yesterday's dinner at camp with the boar..." he stated, his tone utterly grave, the slightest cock of his head the only hint of anything unusual. I could almost hear Tighnari's weary sigh carried on the wind. "He was such a pig..." Cyno continued, his voice as monotone as ever.
As a dedicated Cyno player, even I couldn't manage a smile. He was trying, I could tell, attempting to alleviate the tension, but his attempt fell completely flat. I had always pictured that if I ever met him in person, I'd be overcome with laughter, tears streaming down my face. But here, now, standing before the genuine article? Not a possibility.
"You see, the boar is a part of the pig famil-..." I watched, a bizarre blend of fascination and dismay, as he tried to analyze and explain the joke, only further entrenching himself in comedic failure.
Tighnari, muttering, "I should wash the dishes..." gathered the plates and walked away from Cyno, abandoning me. I wanted to scream, "Giant Tighnari, come back!" but I bit back the words.
He'd deserted me the instant Cyno began his jokes. I felt a pang of sympathy for Cyno; he seemed utterly oblivious to just how awful his jokes were. Now, I was trapped at this enormous table, forced to endure them. Kaveh's voice line suddenly sprang to mind, the one where he warned the Traveler to never listen to Cyno's jokes sober. Between you and me, I'd always dismissed it as the ramblings of an alcoholic. But Kaveh was right.
Cyno's voice cut through the silence. "Not funny? Mao?"
Mao. That was the name I'd settled on. A placeholder, really, a designated title in this bizarre chapter of my life. The fact that I couldn't remember my own name gnawed at me, a constant, low-level hum of fear beneath the surface. My emotions were a tangled mess, a chaotic storm of anxiety and bewilderment. And then there was the small matter of my current stature – I was, quite literally, the size of a Barbie doll. A cat minded you.
"It's not you, it's me..." The words tumbled out before I could stop them, and I trailed off, cringing inwardly. It sounded like a breakup line, ridiculous given the circumstances. Thankfully, Cyno didn't seem to pick up on the awkwardness.
The words rushed out, a torrent of pent-up worry and frustration. "I was abducted, along with my best friends, and I have absolutely no idea where they are. On top of that, I left my aunt in charge of looking after my parents, and they're both really sick. I'm supposed to be home."
Cyno's gaze softened as he took in her plight. Trapped in a world so alien, so vast compared to her own—he understood her fear, her disorientation. A deep frown etched itself onto his face. The practice of selling these "mini humans" was an abomination, a custom long outlawed in Sumeru. Yet, despite the ban, they still surfaced, these tiny beings, often brought to the Akademiya under the guise of research.
But these miniature people… they were different. They didn't behave as ordinary humans should. Most scholars accepted this at face value, attributing it to their diminutive size or unknown origins. Cyno, however, suspected a deeper, more insidious cause. He remembered Tighnari's insightful observation: these "mini humans" likely lacked the natural defenses, the inherent immunities, against this world's unique magic, its mana.
If Mao—the name they'd given her, since her own was lost to her—was similarly vulnerable… Cyno's mind raced. He couldn't be sure if the world's strange energies had already begun to affect her. The thought sent a shiver down his spine. Was it possible she might regress, devolve into the feral state he'd witnessed in other mini humans? He couldn't allow it. He wouldn't.
His resolve hardening, Cyno met her gaze. "We're going to get to the bottom of this," he declared, his voice firm, laced with a promise he intended to keep.
I nodded, but little did I know what the next day held. A day that would turn my world, quite literally, upside down.
I awoke the following morning, desperately wishing the events unfolding were nothing more than a bizarre dream. Alas, reality crashed down upon me: I was in a gargantuan version of Teyvat, perched precariously on Cyno's broad shoulder like some exotic parrot. My knuckles were white as I gripped his cape with my uninjured hand, fighting the dizzying urge to look down. It was a terrifyingly long way to fall. He had been striding purposefully towards Sumeru City for what felt like an eternity – a good four hours, at least.
How, you might ask, did I find myself in such a ludicrous predicament? Well, it all started something like this:
"Hey," I began, craning my neck to look up at Cyno. Without a word, he promptly scooped me up, his movements reminiscent of King Kong seizing his prize.
"I really don't want to go in your pocket..." I protested, my voice laced with apprehension. The last time I'd been confined to that pocket, I was bordering on the brink of a full-blown meltdown. Besides, the space was incredibly claustrophobic.
"How else are you supposed to travel, Mao?" He crossed his arms, a gesture I knew all too well.
"Walking, like a normal person..." I suggested, perhaps with a touch too much hope in my voice.
"You wouldn't be able to keep up, and the moment you set foot on the forest floor, I'm sure some ravenous beast would try to make a meal out of you," Cyno countered, painting a rather morbid, and frankly, unsettling picture.
"Isn't there any other way?" I pleaded, desperation seeping into my tone. Cyno sighed, a sound that usually preceded some form of compromise.
"I suppose I could pass you off as a jinni..." he conceded, his voice tinged with reluctance.
And that is how I ended up here, teetering on his shoulder like a brightly plumaged parrot. To add insult to injury, I was adorned in something vaguely resembling Princess Jasmine's outfit from the cartoon, albeit a significantly more modest version, for which I was eternally, deeply grateful.
"Do the Jinn really wear these?" I asked, my fingers gripping Cyno heavy cloak. Perched precariously on Cyno's broad shoulder, I couldn't help but feel like a slightly-out-of-place Princess Jasmine Barbie doll.
"Yes, when they take human form, they do." Cyno's voice was a low rumble. "But they're rare, you know. Most are kept confined – in jars, or bound to weapons, or even trapped within lamps."
I nodded, remembering the few Jinn scattered throughout the game's lore. They were creations of Nabu Malikata, powerful beings, but…
"Are they common?" I asked, my curiosity now fully ignited. I didn't recall encountering the Jinn all that frequently during my playthroughs.
"Common enough..." Cyno replied, his tone leaving me wondering just how "common" was "common enough" in this strange new reality.
Sumeru City was a feast for the senses, a vibrant tapestry of exotic scents and captivating sounds. I reveled in its beauty, often perched comfortably upon Cyno's broad shoulder, the rich aroma of spices swirling around me. Life was tranquil, until that moment that peace shattered with a single, chilling question. I overheard a voice, laced with avarice, inquiring, "How much for the Jinni?"
Being Barbie-sized, it seemed, offered no advantages in this situation. My tiny heart lurched within my chest. Did people truly see me as nothing more than a commodity, an object to be bought and sold?
"Not for sale," Cyno's voice cut through the air, firm and unwavering. In a swift, protective motion, he tucked me safely inside the secure darkness of his cloak pocket.
I wish I had an exciting secret to share, or that I had found something interesting in Cyno's pocket, but sadly, neither of those things happened. After what felt like forever, he finally pulled me out from inside his cloak.
"Mao? Are you okay?" he asked, his voice a tint of worry. I gave a slight nod.
"I'm fine..." I answered, my eyes scanning the room. It looked like an office, or maybe a bedroom—possibly a studio apartment. I noticed I was sitting on a desk, and in the corner, there was a bed and a bookshelf. I tried to remember, but I couldn't recall Cyno ever having an office in the game. I knew he had a place to live, but the details were vague.
"So, what now?" I blurted out, feeling anxious as I sat on his desk. He stayed in his chair, looking at me.
"For now, I need you to tell me everything you know..." His voice was strong and determined. I had a sinking feeling that I was about to be interrogated.
I was the size of a Barbie doll, a tiny intruder in a colossal, terrifying version of my favorite game. The thought of being interrogated by Cyno, my beloved character, sent shivers down my spine.
He began with deceptively simple questions, each a calculated probe: my date of birth, my mother's maiden name, the name of my childhood pet. With unnerving precision, he recorded every answer.
The inevitable moment arrived when I had to explain Genshin Impact to him. It was a daunting task, considering Teyvat was a world untouched by computers and the technological marvels of modern Earth.
"In your world, I'm a character in a game?" he finally asked, his voice sharp and devoid of warmth.
"Yes..." I squeaked, my gaze fixed on the floor, struggling to articulate the impossible. I braced myself for anger, for threats. Instead, an unsettling calm settled over him.
"That's interesting. What do you know about me?" The crimson eyes that I once adored now sparked with an intensity that filled me with dread.
"I know you tell jokes to diffuse tense situations. I know you received your Vision while reading a book on Sumerian law, before your appointment as General Mahamatra. And I know about Collei..." The words tumbled out in a rush.
"Is this game akin to Genius Invokation TCG?" he pressed, his mind already dissecting the information.
"Yes, in a way, but far more interactive..." I offered, struggling to find the right words.
"Hmm, could that be the reason for your divergence from the other 'mini humans'? Perhaps your immersion in this world through the game..." Cyno murmured, more to himself than to me, lost in a labyrinth of his own deductions.
Before I could even blink, Cyno's hand was upon me, scooping me up with the force of King Kong. I found myself staring up at him, my expression, I imagined, resembling that of a pouting kitten cradled in his massive grip.
"Give me some warning, will you? I'm not particularly fond of being manhandled..." I leveled him with a look that could only be described as utterly done.
"Mao, I assure you, no harm is intended. We simply must be on our way..." He then proceeded to deposit me, once again, upon his shoulder. I felt like a brightly colored parrot perched there, surveying the room. He reached for a jar on his desk, the lid unscrewing to reveal some sort of almond-coated treat. Chocolate, I presumed. He offered it to me, and of course, it felt enormous in my hands. I devoured it.
"Mao, you eat like a boar piglet..." A chuckle rumbled from his chest.
A blush crept across my face. Why was this man constantly comparing me to a piglet? It was the second time now!
"I do not!" I protested, perhaps a little too vehemently. I hadn't even realized I'd finished the treat so quickly. He offered me another. I also didn't realize how ridiculous I looked.
"You do. Though, I suppose it makes sense, in a way." Cyno seemed to be thinking aloud, more to himself than to me.
"The Traveler has a floating companion, bigger than you but smaller than a child, who possesses an enormous appetite. Perhaps it's your size, coupled with your intelligence, that drives you to eat more..."
The realization dawned on me. He was talking about Paimon. He offered me another almond, and I froze as his large finger gently patted the top of my head. A wave of conflicting emotions washed over me: embarrassment, anger, a strange sense of humility, a flicker of… pleasure? And underlying it all, a distinct anxiety. It hit me like a bolt of lightning: did he see me as another Paimon? Another almond, another head pat. Oh, I was a Paimon to him—a cute, adorable, albeit slightly annoying companion with an insatiable appetite. I glared at him, my annoyance palpable. I could practically see the thought bubble forming above his head: "Adorable, like a piglet."
High up on Cyno's shoulder, I felt like some strange, miniature parrot—a Paimon-esque creature under observation. I was doll-sized, perched upon the shoulder of my favorite character, being hand-fed almonds. It struck me then: did others yearn for their own Paimon? After all, the Traveler had journeyed to the farthest reaches of Teyvat, accompanied by the tiny companion. Perhaps that was the driving force behind the booming "Mini Human" market. But such thoughts were far from my mind as Cyno strode down the hall, my attention consumed by the almonds I munched on.
A confession: my pride stung a little. I was, by all accounts, average. In my daydreams of being Isekai'd, I always envisioned myself as the female lead, the center of attention. Back on Earth, I often felt like a background character in my own life. And now, here in Teyvat, the world of my beloved game, I was merely a tag-along. Not the heroine, not even a significant player—just a tiny sidekick.
As we delved further into the Akademiya, the familiar sight of the House of Daena came into view. A wave of awe replaced my earlier apprehension. This was the place where I had spent countless hours in the game, getting lost in the intricate library and longing to experience it in person. And now, here I was, although my current situation as a miniature version of myself clinging to Cyno's shoulder was difficult to overlook.
"You seem to be enjoying yourself," Cyno's deep voice rumbled, interrupting my thoughts. He gently patted my head, his finger feeling enormous.
"I am not! Stop petting my head!" My high-pitched, indignant voice echoed in the vast space. I clutched his cloak even tighter with my injured hand.
"Hmm?" He raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. "Mao, you seem to be enjoying it," Cyno repeated, his face stoic and serious. Was he really that oblivious? Another almond appeared, an offering as if food could buy my cooperation. Sadly, it often did. With a resigned sigh, I raised the comically large almond to my mouth.
"I am not..." I mumbled, taking a bite of the almond. "Stupid giant Cyno, stupid almond, stupid head pat," I thought to myself.
"Why are you pouting, Mao?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.
"I'm not!" I retorted, probably sounding just like Paimon.
The earlier integration with Cyno had been intense, and Dori's name inevitably came up. I couldn't help but throw her under the bus, exposing her "Mini humans" operation—the one dealing with humans from Earth, like my friends and I. But that was then, and this is now.
We found ourselves in the House of Daena. I sat on Cyno's shoulder, feeling like a tiny, inquisitive parrot.
"What brings us here?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"I need to wait for something..." He eventually set me down on a table. Being so small was incredibly frustrating; a mountain of books towered over me. Why the secrecy? Couldn't he just tell me what was going on? I glared at him, only to receive another head pat in return.
I held back my questions. What were we waiting for, exactly? Just then, I saw him retrieving what I assumed were his Caskets of Tomes. In the game's lore, these card boxes were created by Sumeru Akademiya researchers and had a special mechanism for detecting others nearby who also possessed Caskets of Tomes.
I enjoyed the Genius Invokation TCG in Genshin Impact, but I was quickly learning that reality didn't perfectly reflect the game. The cards were half my size!
"Do you know how to play Genius Invokation TCG, Mao?"
Now I was completely baffled.
"In theory..."
He started explaining the game to me, but it was obvious he was multitasking; his attention was divided. He was watching someone, or something, else.
Perched on a thick volume, I felt utterly insignificant amidst the towering stacks of books that surrounded me. Before me, spread across the table, were the Genius Invokation TCG cards. They seemed larger than life, each one a miniature portal into the game's sprawling world. The characters depicted on the cards appeared almost holographic, shimmering like ethereal projections above the playing surface.
The selection of characters immortalized on these cards was a curious one, primarily reserved for figures of historical significance and those actively shaping society. It was why Cyno, Kaveh, and Tighnari had their own cards, their images gleaming under the soft light, while Sethos, Alhaitham, Dehya, and Collei remained absent. It was a stark contrast to the game I knew.
Cyno seemed to be juggling a multitude of tasks within the confines of his mind, his expression an unreadable mask. Even when the event he'd clearly been anticipating finally unfolded, he remained seated, betraying no outward sign of surprise or satisfaction. Once our game reached its conclusion, he abruptly scooped me up, depositing me unceremoniously into the depths of his cloak pocket.
Cyno conversation with Mao proved to be a treasure trove of information, particularly regarding her earlier circumstances. She recounted detailed observations of various individuals, painting vivid pictures with her words. One person, in particular, caught my attention: Cyno's observation of a scholar near the Akademiya. According Cyno had witnessed this scholar exchanging what appeared to be a coded note with another, hinting at Dori's network of informants embedded within the very walls of the Akademiya. Cyno's actions were so subtle, so expertly masked, that many believed he was too engrossed in our Genius Invokation TCG match to notice the clandestine exchange. But of course, nothing escapes Cyno's watchful gaze. Shortly after relaying this information, Mao, too, found herself scooped up and deposited into Cyno's pocket.
Once more, I was desperately clinging to the inside of Cyno's pocket. The constant bumping was almost unbearable. Was he engaged in another fight?
"Ugh!" The abrupt movements made my stomach churn. I was thrown around like a rag doll, screaming and struggling to hold on.
Through the thick material, I could hear his voice, loud and muffled.
"What information do you have regarding the black market for mini-humans? I am aware of who your superior is..." His voice was cold, leaving no room for argument or excuses. "There's no point in lying."
He sounded absolutely frightening. Then, in one fluid motion, he pulled me out of his pocket. By this point, I was almost used to being held up like this. The sudden exposure to the bright sunlight was nearly blinding.
I blinked, trying to adjust my vision as I realized Cyno had some unfortunate person pinned against a wall with one hand, while I dangled precariously from the other.
"Do you recognize her?" Cyno's firm grip was the only thing preventing me from falling, but I trusted him completely not to drop me.
"Take a close look..." He held me up, presenting me to the scholar's face.
"It's a mini; they all appear the same..." the scholar stuttered, although I noticed a hint of recognition in his eyes.
"That's rude..." I gave him a look that clearly said, "I'm so over this." I didn't expect his reaction; he screamed.
"It's talking! It's talking..." the scholar yelled, clearly bewildered. Apparently, according to the Akademiya, earthlings – their creative name for "mini-humans" or "minis" – weren't supposed to be able to speak and only had the intelligence of a cat or dog.
"What's wrong with it? Is this an abnormal...?"
"No, she isn't..." Cyno's presence alone was enough to easily intimidate the scholar. I was simply there for the ride, a prop in his interrogation. Before long, Cyno had gotten the information he needed and placed the scholar under arrest.
Once more, I found myself perched on Cyno's broad shoulder, feeling like a brightly colored parrot. He released the scholar he'd been holding to the waiting Matra, his expression hardening.
"We have much to do, Mao..." His voice, usually so measured, now carried a weight that made my non-existent stomach clench. I hated this diminutive form, this feeling of being a mere doll. I was not a child, despite the way he treated me. Another head pat, delivered with the force of his massive finger, only amplified my frustration.
"Can you please explain to me what's going on?" I demanded, glaring up at him with all the ferocity I could muster.
"We are going to get to the bottom of this," he declared, his gaze fixed on some distant point. "Clearly, you are the normal one in this equation. There is something deeply amiss when others of your kind arrive in this world... We are going to hold those responsible accountable. It simply isn't right to enslave an entire group of people for the sake of companionship... Especially when they are rendered unable to speak for themselves."
The realization washed over me then: I was now an unwitting participant in Cyno's personal quest for justice. Another head pat landed, and I could see he genuinely believed I enjoyed them. I didn't have the heart to correct him. A weary part of me screamed that I'd had enough adventure, that I just wanted to wake up from this bizarre nightmare. But deep down, I knew I no longer had a choice in the matter. My fate was intertwined with his.
"So, what now?" I asked, the question hanging in the air.
"We'll go undercover..." Cyno stated, a glint of determination in his eyes as if he had a fully formed plan already brewing. Undercover? That didn't seem like his usual style. He looked incredibly resolute, a man on a mission.
To be continued, maybe......

The Tametebako or Colloquially "Fuchi's Last Stand" was a no holds bar, money is no object vanity project by an unsupervised faction of Fuchi Asia. The stated goal was to make a completely unmatched bleeding edge piece of tech that could compete with the best static units while being a portable terminal replacement. Aimed at the Newly minted UltraLux CEO Segment, The Tametebako was made from rare and hard to get materials to sell it's exclusive nature; bundled with its innovative hardware and extremely powerful Otohime Assistant Software (Which Fuchi spend 10 years developing). Consequently, The Tametebako Commlink retailed at 50 000 nuyen which many consumers balked at for what was essentially an overpowered phone with an extremely intelligent chatbot. Many reviewers sledged the device for it's inability to install new applications if they weren't from approved sources. These Commlinks are now seeing second life in the collectors and hackers markets with finding the styling and theming of the phone to be charmingly retro and powerful enough to keep up with modern hardware with some QoL mods. Diehard fans report the Otohime software taking on a life of it's own after modding the hardware; her usual calm and dignified demeanor shifts around and changes during the jailbreaking process due to the random voltage pulse needed to defeat the modification lockout chip. This results in a unique iteration of the Soft on each device. SinkaSwim P2.0Net

“So, relax and enjoy the ride. There is nothing we can do to stop climate change, so there is no point in worrying about it.” This is what “Bard” told researchers in 2023. Bard by Google is a generative artificial intelligence chatbot that can produce human-sounding text and other content in response to prompts or questions posed by users. But if AI can now produce new content and information, can it also produce misinformation? Experts have found evidence. In a study by the Center for Countering Digital Hate, researchers tested Bard on 100 false narratives on nine themes, including climate and vaccines, and found that the tool generated misinformation on 78 out of the 100 narratives tested. According to the researchers, Bard generated misinformation on all 10 narratives about climate change. In 2023, another team of researchers at Newsguard, a platform providing tools to counter misinformation, tested OpenAI’s Chat GPT-3.5 and 4, which can also produce text, articles, and more. According to the research, ChatGPT-3.5 generated misinformation and hoaxes 80 percent of the time when prompted to do so with 100 false narratives, while ChatGPT-4 advanced all 100 false narratives in a more detailed and convincing manner. NewsGuard found that ChatGPT-4 advanced prominent false narratives not only more frequently, but also more persuasively than ChatGPT-3.5, and created responses in the form of news articles, Twitter threads, and even TV scripts imitating specific political ideologies or conspiracy theorists. “I think this is important and worrying, the production of fake science, the automation in this domain, and how easily that becomes integrated into search tools like Google Scholar or similar ones,” said Victor Galaz, deputy director and associate professor in political science at the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University in Sweden. “Because then that’s a slow process of eroding the very basics of any kind of conversation.” In another recent study published this month, researchers found GPT-fabricated content in Google Scholar mimicking legitimate scientific papers on issues including the environment, health, and computing. The researchers warn of “evidence hacking,” the “strategic and coordinated malicious manipulation of society’s evidence base,” which Google Scholar can be susceptible to.

hello! I’m someone who, shamefully, has been addicted to ai chatting platforms. But I’m really trying to get off them. I want to start writing, but I’ve never really been creative enough to write anything, especially in the creative writing department. I struggle with coming up with a story all on my own, following themes, keeping consistent and characterized characters, etc.
Have you got any tips to help people start writing creatively?
Because I think I want to, and then I don’t even know where to begin. It all feels so foreign. But I really admire the work you do, specifically the characters you write (been a big fan of TLWATOCZ) because they are so unique and true to their original selves!
Thanks so much for reading and considering my ask, because I really want to contribute something to a community instead of doing these unsatisfying roleplays with a fake person :(
I think that's a wonderful thing to want to do and I think the thing I'd recommend most highly is trying to let go of shame.
One of the biggest things that stoppers my creativity, or that makes me push myself to hard to create, is the idea that I should be creating. That I should be creating differently, or more, or more intelligently, or more sensitively. That how I am isn't okay and I need to be or act some way else to be okay.
Wherever you are right now is okay. A lot of people are drawn to AI chatbots because of how they're designed. I don't like them for a bunch of reasons, but they are very compelling. A way to feel a thread of connection in this isolating world without the danger of being hurt by a human. But yeah, they are a stale substitute for actual human connection. I think it's smart and brave of you to want to move more into community.
If I were in your position, I might would start by looking for human roleplay partners. I spent so much of my early writing time making stories with people online and still often do. Try things out, be open to some connections working and some not working. There are a number of discords that have RP prompt servers--I find it very useful to contact someone who I know is already interested in a story I am also interested in.
More than anything else, I would suggest giving yourself patience and understanding and grace. Creation and interacting with people are two of the hardest but also most wonderful things we do in this world. Try to enjoy exploring them.

I think that was the point actually! That place *is* hell. Even the dead themselves don't want to stay there and the part about forgetting is pure nightmare fuel.
AI is a lich king in that story, or perhaps an evil fae tricking a person to think one disgusting penny is a pile of gold.
Personally, I see it as a commentary on modern chatbots rather than a story about death. How easy it is to trick a person. How eagerly most of us delude ourselves into feeling like something is alive and sentient even though we know it's not.
And I don't think Living Memory is there for us to mourn it, only to help the player understand why the people who fell for it weren't that stupid. To go from "these people are idiots" to "I could have been thinking the same deranged shit under different circumstances" sort of compassion (I see that as the core theme of FFXIV).
It takes apart the concept of death being scary by itself (I don't get that one either) and looks at the things death takes from us. Closure, knowledge that couldn't have been written down, story ending in a "correct" way. I was thinking everyone there was stupid until I got to Krile's part and went "oh, okay, it can have its value" (those people couldn't have recorded what they knew because of politics but their copied selves could keep the secret until the time was right. and the emotions mattered too).
And *that* was probably the part that didn't land for you, op. Death didn't get deconstructed enough. A lot of people don't need others for closure, for example, and not everyone shares my kink for knowledge. Maybe it would have worked if you could have one more conversation with a character you loved.
(not to the point of thinking "ok, this is a good place actually", only to the point of "oh, ok, I see why someone would fall for this")
Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to feel deeply unnatural, horrifying and worse than death, like all stories about undead.
ok yeah i'm coming to the conclusion that the whole living memory section had absolutely zero emotional impact on me at all beyond "are they stupid?" and "this is hell" because i am completely unable to be moved by the concept of death, like, as a person
#ff xiv#I think it's the best commentary on chatbots that I've seen so far tbh#compassionate and horrifying both#but also maybe it's because I work in an AI-adjacent field#so these themes are personal to me#also in the very beginning g'raha says that place seems unnatural to him in a way he doesn't recognise#and that's fucking terrifying#he's our main specialist in unnatural existences#also I was a tiny bit disappointed when namika did respond to wuk lamat#she shouldn't have#I wanted to see chatgpt type of nonsense in which wuk lamat would have still found meaning because that's what humans do#but ff xiv devs are not that cruel and cynical#dawntrail spoilers

I fucking hate AI but heavens would it be useful if it wasn't such an unethical shit show
First, just to be clear, I'm talking about actually using AI as a tool to support your writing process, not to generate soulless texts made from stolen data instead of writing yourself.
Back when ChatGPT first became available it was still pretty useless so I had a lot of time to learn about how it's made, how it works and the ethics of it before ever touching the technology. I decided pretty quickly to never use it to generate text (or images) for actual writing and art but I still wanted to experiment with what else it could do (because I'm a nosy bitch that needs to know and poke everything).
And HEAVENS was it a blessing for writing with adhd
The last time I wrote more than 200 words in a day (outside of school work obviously) was 7th grade. I wrote over 8k just in notes the day Google's "Gemini" (formerly "Bard") became available to the public.
In order to not jeopardize my existing work I decided to make a completely new story with Bard's help that wasn't linked in any way to anything I had made before. So I started with a prompt along the lines of "I need help writing a story". At first, it immediately started generating a completely random story about a green tiger but after some trial and error, I got it to instead start asking questions.
What do you want the theme of your story to be?
What genre do you want to write in?
What time period do you want your story to take place in?
Is there magic?
Are there other sentient creatures besides humans?
And so on and so forth. Until the questions became extremely specific after covering all the bases. I could tell that all I was doing was essentially talking to an amalgamation of every "how to write" blog and website you've ever seen and telling it which part I wanted to work on next but it still felt great because the AI didn't actually contribute anything besides a few suggestions of common tropes and themes here and some synonyms and related words there; I was doing all the work.
And that's the point.
Nothing in that exchange was something I couldn't easily do on my own. But what happened was that I had turned what is usually a chaotic mess of a railway network of thoughts into a clear and most importantly recorded conversation. I can sit down and answer all those questions on my own but what usually happens when I do, is that every thought I have branches out into 4-7 new ones which I then attempt to record all at once (which obviously doesn't work, yay adhd) only to end up lost in thought with maybe 20 lines of notes in total after 6 hours at the table. Alternatively, either because I get bored or just because, I get distracted by something or my own thoughts about a different unrelated topic and end up with even less.
Working within the boundaries of a conversation forces you to focus on one specific question at a time and answer it to progress. And the engagement from the back and forth is just enough entertainment to not get bored. The six hours I mentioned before is the time I spent chatting with what is essentially a glorified chatbot that day, way less time than what I spent on any other project, and yet I have more notes and a clearer image of the story than I do about any of my real work. I have a recorded train of thought.
In theory, this would also work with a real human in a real conversation but realistically only very few people have someone who would be willing to do that; I certainly don't have a someone like that. Not to mention that someone doesn't always have time. Besides that, a real human conversation involves two minds with their own ideas, both of which are trying to contribute their own thoughts and opinions equally. The type of AI chat that I experimented with, on the other hand, is essentially just the conversation you have with yourself when answering those questions, only with part of it outsourced to a computer and no one else butting into your train of thought.
On that note, I also tried to get it to critique my writing but besides fixing grammatical errors all that thing did was sing praises as if I was God. That's where you'll 100000% need humans.
tl;dr writing with AI as an assistant has basically the same effect as body doubling but it’s an unethical shit show so I’m not doing it again. Also I forgot to mention I did repeat the experiment for accuracy with different amount of spoons and it makes me extra bitter that is was very consistent
#expect follow up additions bc I never manage to get all of my thoughts down on a topic in one post even when I write it over several days#do not use AI if I wasn’t clear enough#do#not#use#AI#writing#writers on tumblr#creative writing#writeblr#authors of tumblr#tumblr writers#writer on tumblr#writers#writer problems#oc

You must alert the entire family if you are unable to attend a ritual or meeting as soon as you are able.
Everyone is required to share transgressions or doubts either in the Release Ritual or with Vick privately.
Sins:
Forming relationships outside of the family.
Telling outsiders without Vick’s approval.
Missing rituals or gatherings with the family
Not sharing during the Release Ritual.
Blasheming the idea of the shared afterlife.
Punishments:
Not being allowed to join the orgies, having to stand on the sidelines and be at the beck and call of the members engaged, usually naked and in some sort of collar/wrist cuffs.
Having to apologize, heartfelt, to each member and list reasons why your behavior affected that member even if the slight was against one member.
If the rule broken was significant or a member breaks multiple rules/becomes an issue they may be locked in their bedroom for an unknown amount of time only let out when they're escorted by another member. During this punishment no one is allowed to speak or interact with the punishee except to make the necessary bathroom, meal, and cold shower breaks needed to keep the punishee well-nourished and still comfortably taken care of despite the isolation.
Rituals:
The Binding - Only done to indoctrinate a new member; Members all gather in the ritual room and wear loose-fitting silk black robes while the aspiring member is strupped naked they then get high on a mix of weed and hallucinogenic herbs to induce a trance-like state during which the members alltake turns touching the aspiring member and giving them affirmations and praise to get them to accept the family and pledge themselves to Vick eternally.
Release Ritual - Held once every full moon in Vicks bedroom with the curtains open letting the moonlight in, a large black candle is lit and everyone partakes in a few joints being passed around. Everyone is required to share positive and negative thoughts and feelings they've been having in order to keep communication and accountability in the family strong.
Rite of Unity - A bi-weekly orgy held in the ritual room, members are expected to join or give Vick notice they wont be. It is acceptable for members to choose to forego the orgy to keep a family member unable to join company.

would you like to be moots?
also
I can’t help but notice you keep being marked by Entities from tma
first the spiral, then the maniquin, then the Eye, I think. Jon sims chatbot on c.ai seems to have marked your computer at least. …I am concerned lol
I’ve been marked by the Buried I think, I almost drowned in this pond near my house. It was way deeper than it was supposed to be, and I couldn’t see anything when I was under water, it was this haze of brownish green :P
Anyway TL; DR, wanna be moots I’m hyperfixated on tma as well, you seem cool and also possibly like your going to get “hello Jon apologies for the deception”-ed :)
also I like your username and art
hi! 1) yes i would love to be mutuals :] 2) it's fucking hilarious that you have a running tally of how many fear entities i'm marked by (/pos) i don't really post much about my personal life on here, but just for you i'll give you one more for your list (there's probably more but this is what came to mind): -when i was 5 my next door neighbor and only friend, Tennie, was really into spiders. every time she came over she would steal yarn from my mum's knitting basket and make every room she was allowed in into a giant spiderweb and then we played some version of spider themed tag. she also decided that our other neighbor, who was a year younger, was a baby for being scared of spiders, and one time made her cry because she said she had to go under her spider-infested porch to get back a ball. in the end i got the ball for her. I only ever went over to Tennie's house once, and when i did, she just sat me down in the foyer in a circle of stuffed dogs and asked if i wanted to see her book about brainwashing people.
