So I have been thinking. Like I have been in Irondad and spider son blender for months now, and few hoco clips here and there- it's been a long time ok I haven't watched them in a while- and it git me started that what if parker A are actually very rich, like come on dude I have read home less, piss poor peter parker but never like rich Peter , like sunvert the grope guys. Imagine:
Parkers being a good name in high society and like concealing peter is their baby so nobody knows their company actually has an heir.
Peter being a trust fund baby, it's just that the trust fund is very big that's all.
May being an anonymous board member under the name of maybelle parker
May coming from a poor family and ben being a very down to earth guy so peter grows up respecting the poor life choices
Thompsons and parker being so flash actually knows peter is not actually poor
I mean the possibilities

After an incident at Oscorp, your academic rival Peter Parker calls you for help with the sticky situation he's found himself in — peter x gn!reader fluff
warnings: spiders/spider bites (but if you can't handle that then what are you doing here lmao?)
words: 1.9k
Tumblr media
On an internship orientation at Oscorp, you only knew one other person in the group. Granted, you weren't the most popular person in your school and there were only 6 other students in the program, but you figured you would recognize at least a few others.
Standing next to you as your group toured the laboratory was the boy tied with you for top student in your grade at Midtown High, Peter Parker.
Of course he got the internship, you thought.
Though your longtime academic rival was in the same program as you, you promised yourself you would not do anything to lose this opportunity. If you wanted a career in science, and you did, you would devote everything of yours to this internship.
At exactly 8 o'clock, exactly on time, a blonde woman in a lab coat approached the tour group and introduced herself.
"Hello. My name is Gwen Stacy, and I'll be giving you interns a tour around the Oscorp building."
She looked young, maybe in her early twenties. Her age gave you a bit of hope that young people could get into the science industry.
Your eyes started to wander while Gwen was talking about the history of Oscorp and you looked over at Peter Parker. He was looking at Gwen, but he had a particular gleam in his eye, a look of adoration. It was funny. Peter had a crush on a twentysomething giving them a tour of Oscorp's labs.
Whatever, maybe if Peter was off his game because of a crush, you could prove yourself as the best and brightest intern in the group.
Gwen continued her lecture as your group started making your way into the actual lab instead of the lobby where your tour started. "And again, I apologize for making you all get here at 8 on a Saturday morning, but hey, that's the life of a scientist."
The group let out a small collective chuckle, but Peter laughed just a little too hard at her joke.
She thanked the group for the laughter, said you were a great crowd, and continued to lead the group into one of the laboratories.
"This is one of our biology labs, biomedical, actually." She said, swiping her work ID card and inputting a code into a keypad on the door, leading you all into a white room full of computers and terrariums.
All the interns looked around the lab in astonishment. All of you with the same exact thoughts running through your head.
After a second of letting you take it all in, Gwen continued her introduction of that particular lab.
"Right now, this division is working on using properties of animals to use in medicine." She explained. "Over there is our reptile chamber, where we have lizards and geckos at the moment. And right next to you all is our spider terrarium."
She paused again so the group could take another look around, and you raised your hand to ask Gwen a question.
"Yes, (y/n)." She said, noting your name tag.
"Is it true that you're using gamma radiation on those spiders to make them radioactive or is that just a rumor?" You asked, pointing at the terrarium as you spoke.
"That's exactly what we're doing." Gwen confirmed. "Both radiation and animals are, or have been, used in many different medicinal practices, so our biomedical scientists are working on combining the two."
You nodded, and noticed that some of the other group members looked confused, as if they were trying to think of a question to ask as well.
"I love the curiosity, (y/l/n). I can tell that you've done your research. You seem like you'll be a great fit here at Oscorp." Gwen smiled.
She continued to explain the other experiments being conducted at the moment in that department, and your eyes started to wander over to Peter again. He swatted the back of his neck, like he had felt something back there. He winced as if he was pinched, but in a second or two, returned his focus to the tour.
_____
The next day, you hear your phone buzz from across the bed while you were doing your physics homework.
Who would be trying to contact you right now?
Your first thought was that it was another student from one of your classes asking for last minute homework help.
No, you disregarded the idea, It's not even noon yet. It wasn't last minute enough.
After several more notification vibrations, you decide to see who it was and what they wanted. As you leaned over and reached for the phone, you noticed the notifications becoming closer and closer together, as if the messages were becoming more urgent.
A look of confusion washed over your face as you read the contact at the top of the messages.
"Peter Parker?" You said, accidentally out loud.
What does Peter need so urgently?
You scan the messages, seeing him rambling vague details about Oscorp and the biomed lab. Before you could read any more or even process anything you had just read, an incoming call screen appeared over the messages.
Confused and reluctant, you hesitate to answer the call. After a tiny pause, you accept the phone call and hear Peter's continued fast-paced and disorienting rambling.
"(y/n), oh my god, something really weird happened to me last night and I don't know what to do! I think it's because of the Oscorp tour yesterday but I don't know how it could happen to me. I don't want to say anything else over the phone, I just need you to come see this in person."
"Peter, what are you talking about?" You asked, completely flustered by his rambling.
"I can't explain, I would just have to show you."
You paused for an extended second.
What is going on right now?
"Please, (y/n), I need your help." Peter pleaded.
"Okay." You sighed. "I'll come over and see what you're freaking out about."
"Thank you, (y/n)." He said. "Okay, I'll see you in a minute. Wait, you need my address!"
"No, I don't. I've been over to your apartment to do schoolwork before. You still live with your aunt, right?"
"Yeah." He replied.
"Okay, I'll be right over."
You hung up the phone, and gathered up your homework in a neat pile so nothing would be damaged. Then, you grabbed your backpack with your wallet and keys, and left your apartment, heading to Peter's place.
_____
When you got to Peter's apartment, you stood in the brown hallway and knocked on his front door. His aunt quickly opened the door. She recognized you, which you didn't expect.
"Hey, (y/n), right?" She greeted.
You nodded, and she let you inside.
"Are you here to see Peter?" She asked. She didn't seem to know about whatever was going on with Peter that was freaking him out so much, so you didn't say anything about it.
"Um, yeah. It's a school thing we have to do." You told her, slightly turning to the side to display your backpack.
"Oh, alright, no problem. He's in his room right now." She smiled warmly.
She called out for Peter, alerting him that you were here, and he told her to let you in. Then, she led you over to Peter's bedroom, and you knocked on his door, telling him it was just you. He unlocked his bedroom door, and anxiously urged you to come inside . You walked in, and he quickly shut the door behind you both, likely alerting suspicion in Peter's aunt.
"What is going on?" You asked in a whisper-yell.
"I don't know how to explain it, but..." He paused, trying to think of a way to describe his situation. "I just woke up and I'm sticky now."
You cringed, making a disgusted face and trying to avoid making eye contact with him.
"Peter." You sighed. "Didn't you learn about this in the fifth grade? It's completely natural, but-"
He cut you off, realizing he had said the wrong thing and made you think of something completely different than what he meant.
"No, no, ew, (y/n)!" He defended. "No, I mean I woke up super strong, and then everything started to get weird when I..." He paused and walked past you to grab something off of his bed. He picked up a metal water bottle by his bed and threw it, but it didn't leave his hand. "And I'm sticky. Things just keep sticking onto me."
"Alright, yeah." You rolled your eyes, not believing anything Peter was saying. "You're just holding it."
"No, I'm serious. Look."
He tries to throw the water bottle a few more times, aiming towards the wall. On the third or fourth attempt, the water bottle shot from his arm, through the screen of his window, looking like it made it at least five or six buildings away without hitting the ground.
From another room, Peter's aunt heard the noise and asked what it was.
"It's nothing, May! We're fine!" Peter shouted back.
"How did you do that?" You ask, eyeing him suspiciously.
"I don't know!" He said loudly, then lowered his voice so as to not draw any more suspicion from his aunt in the other room. "That's the point!"
He walked past you again, making his way over to his desk, and pulling a glass over a piece of paper sitting there. Underneath the glass was something small that you couldn't identify.
"And then, after I accidentally punched myself in the face trying to brush my teeth this morning, I noticed this inside my shirt from yesterday." He said, pointing to the object on the paper slip.
You inspected it closer, now being able to identify it as one of the spiders from the biomed lab yesterday. The reason Peter smacked his neck on the tour.
"Oh god, Parker. Don't tell me you actually let an experiment bite you on the neck yesterday." You said.
"I did. Accidentally. And now I need your help because I don't know what it's doing to me."
You started laughing. At first it became a small chuckle, then it developed into close to a laughing fit.
"It's not funny, (y/l/n)!"
"Oh, it's absolutely funny. You're an imbecile, and now you're going to lose the Oscorp internship for it if they find out. Plus, you're becoming some spider-man hybrid thing. Don't be surprised when you wake up tomorrow with four extra limbs!"
"You don't actually think that's going to happen, right?" He asked, a large amount of concern in his voice.
"Oh, I definitely think they'd kick you out of the internship for that." You said, your laugh silencing.
"But the limb part?!"
"If you were listening to Gwen yesterday instead of sniffing her hair the whole time or whatever that was, you would know that yes, those spiders are experimental, they're radioactive. But they're being made for sick people, so that they can regain their strength, sharpness, and all abilities."
"So?" He asked.
"So, you'll be fine. Likely."
His eyes widened in shock at the last part, not realizing that you were kidding.
"I'm joking, Parker." You told him. "It'll actually probably just make you cooler. You could be a jock for the first time in your life."

The next week is absolutely miserable. I’ve been subsisting on a diet of ramen, ice cream, and reality TV. I tried to shake off my mood by polishing all of the diamonds in my vault, but I barely got halfway through before I gave up. My heart just wasn’t in it.
The only time I see Peeta all week is during Criminology 101, a few days after the break-up. He sits as far as humanly possible away from me in the cavernous lecture hall, his shoulders slumped, as he mindlessly taps a pencil on the desk. I keep my eyes averted, but when I do summon the courage to look, he’s staring out the window.
I faithfully continue patrolling every night, hoping flirting with Spidey will do me some good. After all, now that Peeta and I are over, I can flirt with Spidey totally guilt-free.
Which would be great, except I can’t find him.
Spider-Man isn’t patrolling by his favorite pizza shop in Midtown, or hanging upside down from the Brooklyn Bridge. He isn’t on top of the Empire State Building, which I had to check by taking the elevator while in costume with some very confused tourists.
Spidey’s never disappeared like this. Sure, we don’t patrol every night, but this is completely new, and worrying. What if he’s in trouble?
I double my efforts, searching the city, and even calling Poison Ivy to see if her underground network has any leads, but there’s nothing. No chatter about his whereabouts, no sightings posted on the message boards. So a week passes, and I’m very close to freaking out and calling hospitals and morgues, when one day I’m prowling the top of the Flatiron building and Spidey lands softly beside me, cool as a cucumber.
“Hey Cat.”
“What the hell!” I try to punch him in the shoulder, but he dodges. Damn those Spidey reflexes. “Where have you been?”
“Around.”
“Oh, come on. You left me!”
He sighs. “It’s been a shitty week.”
“Yeah? You and me, both. It would’ve been better if I’d at least known where you were! I thought you were dead in a gutter somewhere!”
“Aw, I had no idea you cared about me so much,” he says, but there’s nothing flirtatious or playful about his tone.
I narrow my eyes.
“Go AWOL like that again and I’m going straight back to Tiffany’s, the hero life be damned-”
“I needed space from you, OK?” he exclaims. “I’m allowed to be upset!“
I’m so confused that I don’t even know what to say. I card my fingers through the platinum strands of my wig. I’m running through various theories such as Spider-Man has been abducted and replaced with an alternate dimension Spider-Man, or maybe he’s just lost his mind in general, but before I can figure it out, Spidey has tackled me to the floor.
“Stay down,” he says, but it’s too late. There’s a metallic whirring sound above us, way too close, and I realize why Spidey knocked me to the roof. We both attempt to scramble out of the way, but sharp metal talons seize me around the ribs, gripping so tightly I’m fighting to breathe.
“Well, well, well,” says the Vulture.

"You're better off without me."
Pairing: Tom!Peter Parker x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: trauma, death, unhappy ending
Summary: You have been victim of Doctor Strange's memory erasing spell as well; you have no idea who Peter Parker is. In another life, he was your loving boyfriend, but now, he is nothing more than a forgotten memory. You are still the biggest Spider-Man fan, even after the spell, but the friendly neighbourhood crime fighter doesn't pull his punches as much anymore. You welcome a new student at Midtown High School and he's strange: he knows almost every single thing about you. The two of you get closer and closer over the course of a few days when one night, a mysterious figure is knocking at your window.
______________________________________________________________
You're the biggest Spider-Man fan; well, you were. After the destruction of the new and improved Statue of Liberty, you notice the crime fighting "hero" doesn't hold back as much anymore. You are aware of what he is capable of: superhuman strength, wall climbing, web shooting, Spidey-Sense, etc., but the petty criminals he fought would just end up with a few bruises and walk it off after being arrested. Lately, they ended up with severe injuries, such a broken bones and ended up in a hospital for a few days, even weeks. The whole world watches as the fallen hero crawls more and more towards the darker side. This isn't the same friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man you knew.
Other than that, life for you has been pretty boring lately. Same school, same friends, same teachers, same routine, except for one thing; a new student is now attending Midtown High School: Peter Parker. You've never seen him before and you're kind of weirded out by his presence; he showed up out of nowhere in the middle of the school year. Nevertheless, you decide to welcome him.
"Hey, I'm Y/N Y/L/N, welcome to Midtown High School!" you say as you reach in to shake his hand. He reaches back nervously. You can feel his anxiousness through the hand shake that went on for a few seconds. "I'm uh... Peter Parker." he says softly.
"Hi Peter! Do you want me to show you around the school? you ask with a gentle smile. "Nah, uh, I'm good. I already know a little around the place."
"Uh, sure thing. Shall we go to class, then?" you reply. He nods in approval as you both head to the science class.
______________________________________________________________
The principal asked you to accompany Peter as he adapts to this new school, even though he's seemingly already used to the place. Since you're his guide, the two of you got very close during the last few days. To your surprise, he seems to know everything about you: your likes, your dislikes, your talents, your weaknesses, etc. He even got you this nice necklace you've been dying for over the course of the last weeks, but couldn't afford. He seems really nice, but you can't help but feel something is wrong. This new student seems to know... every single thing about you, it's like he already knew you before getting into Midtown High School.
All of those paranoid thoughts keep you up tonight. You have no idea why, but you can't sleep on this snowy night, when all of the sudden, you hear knocking from your window. As you remove the curtain, you see none other than Spider-Man himself, hanging from a web, still knocking on your window. You move back quickly without skipping a beat while he removes his mask before you: you recognize Peter's beautiful face. You've been gaslighting yourself into believing you didn't have a crush on him until this very moment. You open the window as the vigilante crawls inside your room.
"Peter, what the hell are you doing here?! You can't be here, especially not as goddamn Spider-Man! I didn't even know! " you prattle on, furious and confused. "Look, Y/N, I know it's a horrible idea to come here as, you know, a human spider, but I needed you to know everything." You're slowly tilting your head, confused as ever, thinking this is a fever dream. "Then, what is this about?" you ask, giving up. He sighs his soul out. "I know this sounds... crazy, but everything I'm saying is true, I promise." he tells you, trying to calm you down. "Crazier than you being Spider-Man?" you lash out. "Yes, crazier." he says, telling you to quiet down with his nonverbal.
"Ugh, where do I start?" he asks himself out loud, his eyes welling up. "I had to make a huge sacrifice to save the world; no, the multiverse from threats from all universes. I even lost my aunt to one of them and I realized that... some people can't be forgiven." he explains, his voice breaking. "And that led you to go after petty criminals? I watch the news, Peter Benjamin Parker. I know what you did to some of them-" He cuts you off abruptly, feeling guilty. "I couldn't control myself, Y/N! I lost everyone I loved, you included!" he lashes out as he breaks into tears. You grab his hands and ask him what happened softly. He explains the situation as he slowly calms down: "Doctor Strange cast a spell that made everyone in the world forget who I am; everyone in the entire multiverse who knew I was Spider-Man was going to enter this world, and I tell you, there was an entire army, each of them as dangerous as Green Goblin. I had no choice, I asked Doctor Strange to make everyone forget who I am, even you." he explains while trying to not scream.
You can clearly see the honesty in his eyes; also the pain and suffering. "Then, what were we to each other? Before the spell?" you ask, holding his face softly. "You were everything I ever wanted, Y/N Y/L/N, you were my reason to live and my reason to continue as Spider-Man. You were everything to me. I loved you and I still do." he says with tears in his eyes, gently grabbing your shoulder. "But I can't stay here. I need to leave. All of my loved ones get into trouble when it comes to the superhero stuff, and you can't get involved in that, not again. You're better off without me." Upset but also understanding, you reach in to kiss him and he engages back. The two of you go on for a few seconds until he breaks free and wipes the tears away from your eyes. "I don't want this either, Y/N, but it's what's best for you." he says, his voice breaking.
You hold his hand softly as he leaves for the window once again. He crawls out and hands you a bracelet from the roof. "You gave it to me as a gift before the spell. Maybe it'll help you remember." he tells you with a forced smile. As he swings away, you inspect the bracelet.
"I don't remember... I want to, but... I don't remember him..."

thinking about the MCU this morning and how cool some of their concepts are and how they fucking waste them
the one on my mind today is The Snap, which is an existentially horrifying concept. some guy with infinite power snaps his fingers and half the population of the world vanishes, which is terrible in itself, but then five years later some other folks undo it, but the undo isn't retroactive, the snapped people are gone for five years and then reappear where they left from!!!
and disney are cowards, because they handwaved it to "oh but no one was hurt <3" instead of embracing the absolute horror of it all and letting us bathe in the darkness of it
a pilot who gets snapped out of existence mid-flight, and then reappears in the exact spot he left from. to him the plane would just have vanished from around him.
half a passenger jet's worth of people!!! just disappearing!! and then reappearing halfway across america, raining down upon the city the plane happened to be over
someone halfway through sex with their partner turning to dust and then five years later reappearing in the exact same place, but there partner isn't there anymore, instead they're on top of a stranger who moved into their apartment
entire buildings demolished between The Snap and the undoing, people coming back to the top floor just to find there's no floor anymore
parents reappearing to find their children five years older.
children reappearing to find they're now the youngest sibling.
people vanishing while driving cars and the fucking carnage that would come from that
surgeons vanishing mid-surgery and then reappearing without knowing they ever vanished to continue surgery on the wrong patient
pregnant people disappearing mid-birth. does the baby vanish too? what if the baby disappeared mid-birth? Where does that come back to?
did half the pregnancies vanish from the pregnant people who were left? did those come back? i promise some of those pregnant people were beyond relieved to be without that pregnancy, and some of them even had their lives saved by it
pregnant people snapping out of existence, then coming back to find their partner's moved on, married again, had kids again, and they're still pregnant
someone in an accident or drowning or something and they're about to be saved or rescued when they snap out of existence. they come back and their savior's not there anymore
someone about to fire a gun in self-defense coming back to find they shot an innocent instead
half a military coming back to a war that's already finished and starting it again
the simple horror of finding that five years of everyone else's lives have passed without you and you're still the same as you were
and these are just off the top of my head? I had more while I was brushing my teeth but I forgot some. Imagine the depth of personal and horrifying stories you could tell with all of these things.
but no, instead:
Thanos activated the completed gauntlet and initiated the Snap, causing a universal genocide which eliminated fifty percent of all life, randomly disintegrating individuals into dust.
The Snap had devastating universal repercussions. On Earth, the Snap led to a five-year period in which the world fell into societal collapse and many countries abandoned their national borders. In 2023, the victims of the Snap were resurrected by the Avengers, after they went back in time to alternate timelines to acquire their own set of Infinity Stones.
and
The Snap was remembered as a historical event. Although the Blip eventually brought back all living beings who perished, their sudden return was unsettling to most of the survivors, who had moved on with their lives without thinking they would ever return. Their return also caused confusion surrounding their identity documents, because those who returned remained the same age they had been before vanishing, despite the five year lapse. For example, the students of Midtown who returned had to repeat the entire school year the following term, despite having already completed midterms, much to their frustration. In 2024, a documentary film about the event, entitled The Snap, was released.
and
However, the Blip was not without repercussions. As a result of the five years between the Snap and the Blip, many of the previous victims were displaced from their homes. The mass displacement of so many people was so acute it caused the United Nations to create the Global Repatriation Council, a supranational organization which was given a mandate to help the returned people get housing and several forms of social security. In the United States of America, the National Blip Support Hotline was founded for Americans victims of the Snap. In New York City, the Salvation Army sought donations to provide housing for displaced persons, with volunteer May Parker using Spider-Man to draw attention to the fundraising campaign. In San Francisco, a dating service exclusively designed to pair up victims of the Snap known as Blip Sync was launched.
Meanwhile, restored students like Peter Parker, Ned Leeds, Michelle Jones, Flash Thompson, Betty Brant, and Jason Ionello found themselves five years behind their 2018 classmates due to not having aged the five years. Since many of Midtown's previously snapped students had failed to go through the entire school year and take finals, they were told that they had to restart all over again, notably with Parker's class having to retake junior year during the remnants of the 2023-2024 school year.
It just makes me groan softly that they had this amazing, creative and downright unique narrative device to play with, and the level of consequences they decided to go with was, "People are homeless and for some reason the Government actually cares about this" (as if) and "Some high school students have to re-take their classes."
anyway i watched this video the other day
youtube
which summed up a lot of my boredom with the MCU in general. There's a lot of excellent ideas and concepts within the MCU banner, but they're so attached to status quo and no actual change to the world can ever happen (probably because it has to stay "relatable"? It's suffering from what a lot of shows suffered from when they needed to be syndicated back in the day: you have to be able to watch one episode (movie, in this case, or entire show) at random and still understand what you're watching, even if you've never seen another one ever, as well as it needing to stay "present day" instead of becoming unrecognizable from the world people paying for the tickets or Disney+ live in). You can't solve racism in the MCU because racism still exists in our world, you can't solve world hunger or homelessness, because those things still exist here. It would make the world unrecognizable.
Having actual consequences for the Blip or whatever it's called would require letting the world change, and would make new viewers have to have a primer on how that world got to where it is now, and there's no way Disney are going to risk isolating even 2% of their viewer base, because then they might not make *checks figures* $546.3 million off the next movie. It might be $500 million instead. Shocking.
Frankly, I think adding a pre-movie/show section that gives a rundown of what's happened so far could be pretty cool. They could make it a bit with a reoccurring actor playing a news guy or something, with smatterings of the news of what's happened for the last x amount of years. You could make it comedic, add commentary to the universe, have the guy vanish for the whole period of the blip, replaced by someone else, then come back later and be frazzled and unsure what he's doing because they just expected him to go back to work. There's so much you could do, and if they wanted they could easily make it a bit that people looked forward to and enjoyed due to the comedy and narrative aspects of it.
But instead they just said, "Oh no, it's fine. No one dies from knock-on effects of the Snap or the return. It's all fine, don't think too hard about it. The gauntlet compensated for that," and that's fine, it works, but it's disappointing to me. I would love to see more consequence.
Then again, I'd always like to see more consequence in my MCU, and I never really do [insert my AOS rant here]. So I'm used to it by now. I'm also massively behind on all the movies and that's likely one of the reasons why.
(If you like my thoughts, I have a Substack I'm hoping to put stuff on soon.)

Back to school shopping was a lot easier when school had already started. You were only a couple weeks late from when Midtown started but they still enrolled you anyway— of course, they weren’t going to turn down Captain America’s daughter. You had yet to actually go to the school but your first day and tour were all going to be rolled into one. Sam joined you and Steve for shopping.
“Sarah! Which one?” Sam called out from the end of the aisle, you and Steve looking at fancy stationary against the wall. He held up two backpacks for you to look at.
“Isn’t that sweet,” a woman walking past said as she put some school supplies in her cart. “It’s so nice to see a father spending time with his daughter.”
“Oh, no, ma’am. No, she’s— ma’am she’s no—”
“Dad! I can’t tell the one on the right,” you called to put Sam out of his blubbering misery.
Both Sam and Steve faltered. Steve was red and if blush showed up on Sam, he was sure it would be there. Steve recovered before Sam.
“Right one is light purple with blue flowers, Babydoll.”
At Steve’s nickname for you, the woman looked between him, you, and Sam. You watched her face go through many emotions and then settle on confusion.
“He’s my real dad, same hair.” You pointed to Steve.
“Oh.”
That was all the woman said before walking off. You couldn’t tell what she meant but it probably wasn’t the best because both Sam and Steve attempted to pull the brims of their baseball caps even lower.
“Is it a clashing blue? Because it all looks the same right now,” you said going back to the task at hand.
“They go together.”
You looked at the two backpacks. Not that you didn’t trust Steve but you also didn’t trust Steve. Yeah, sure he was an artist but you still didn’t quite believe his sense of what looked nice.
“I’ll take the green one.”
You placed the stationary you were looking at in the cart and walked off to go find the rest of your supplies. You only made a few steps when you realized no one was behind you.
“Dheaidí? Dad? Calculators… ooh, lip gloss.”
Steve grabbed the shopping cart and both he and Sam went to grab you a calculator while you got distracted by makeup.
~~
“Captain Rogers, it’s an honor to meet you. My grandfather served with your Howling Commandos, Jim Morita?” the principal shook Steve’s hand rather enthusiastically.
“Jim, good man. Always making us laugh,” Steve chuckled at the memory making the principal giddy.
Throughout the tour, students and teachers alike kept staring. Mainly because Steve was in his stealth suit. He would’ve worn something casual but he was called on a mission and had to leave immediately. He was already pushing it by telling S.H.I.E.L.D. that he was taking you to your first day of school, mission or not, and they would have to accept him being late.
“And this is the chemistry lab and your first class of the day Miss Rogers.”
Everyone in the class, including the teacher, moved to the door to see Steve. He gave an awkward wave and then turned to you.
“I gotta go now, Sarah.”
“How long?”
“Two weeks.”
“Weeks?”
“I know, I’m sorry. Three days and I’ll call.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.” He held out a pinky.
“Oh and Pietro’s picking you up, he insisted.”
You groaned knowing that meant you weren’t taking a car. Steve chuckled and gave you a hug before he left. The students all returned to their seats and you sat at an empty lab bench. Maybe Uncle Jamie was wrong. Yeah you picked Midtown but maybe school still wasn’t going to be easy. You got through your morning classes quickly and quietly.
No one talked to you, everyone too busy staring. You were no longer in the private eye and Steve’s famous status was already affecting you. Yours as well but people tried not to mention 001, not that you didn’t hear whispers. Especially since it had been announced that you had to speak at the UN just like Bucky had to in a week. It was more customary than anything. To absolve you of anything you did under HYDRA’s influence. But they just had to announce it the day before you started school.
You walked into the cafeteria and grabbed lunch. Even if they tried not to look, the kids were still staring. You noticed a few waving and attempting to call you over, trying to be louder than other tables doing the same. Making friends was going to be interesting.
“Free seat over here, babe,” Flash Thompson called.
You remembered him from your history class, somehow he got it in his head that you liked the nickname. You acted like you didn’t hear him, purposely turning your face so the hearing aid would show, and scanned the cafeteria landing on a relatively empty table with two boys.
“Can I sit here?” You asked when you walked over.
“Yeah su— holy crap, you’re Sarah Rogers,” the tan boy said as he looked up from his lunch.
“Yeah,” you said, tight-lipped.
“You’re so cool! I mean your dad is so co—”
“Ned!” Another boy cut him off.
“I’m sorry, he didn’t mean it. I mean you’re cool, not that you’re not cool we just don’t want you to feel weird unless this is making you feel weird…”
You sat down at the table anyway, if they annoyed you too much you’d just move.
“I’m used to weird. Sarah Rogers,” You introduced yourself even though it was pointless.
“Peter Parker.”
“Ned Leeds.”
“Michelle Jones,” a voice piped up. “But my friends call me MJ, if I had any.”
You looked over to see a girl sitting at the table but slightly farther away. She gave you a shrug and went back to reading. You were going to say something else but she seemed content to only be at the table so you went back to your lunch and the two boys in front of you.
“So…” Ned started. “Have you ever thrown the shield?”
Peter shoved Ned’s shoulder. “Ned!”
“What, don’t you want to know?”
You looked at the two of them and laughed a little. Ned’s curiosity seemed so pure that it didn’t bother you.
“No, my dad doesn’t really like when anyone touches it.”
“Bummer.” Ned nodded his head, seriously.
The rest of lunch went quietly, Ned and Peter in their own little world. They didn’t really talk but you liked their presence. It turned out they were both in your robotics class and you joined their table.
“This must be child’s play for you,” Ned said as he got out the small robot they had started the first day of school.
“I mean, it’s n—”
Everyone covered their ears at the high pitched ringing from one of the machines. You ripped your hearing aids out, the sharp whistle cutting through it extra loud. The hearing aids crashed to the ground and the teacher ran over to help the student turn off the machine, crushing your aids in the process. He looked down underneath his foot.
“Oh no. Oh, goodness, Sarah I’m so sorry.”
“It’s fine.”
You picked up the broken hearing aids and looked at them. The rest of the day was going to be even more quiet than it already was and now you’d have to sit in the front row for every class to make sure you could hear while taking notes— which was the absolute last thing you wanted to do.
Pietro greeted you outside when school ended, creating a second buzz amongst the students. You started to wonder if this was your new daily life. Pietro noticed your hearing aids were gone and you held up the crushed pieces. He laughed at your expense for a solid three minutes.
“Let’s go, Doll.”
“Not your doll,” you said as he picked you and ran, much to your protest.
“A car. You can’t just take a car?”
“Where’s the fun in that?”
“Pietro, stop torturing her,” Wanda laughed but made no move to actually help you when Pietro dragged you around the entire compound a couple times before letting you go.
~~
“You’re quiet, Peter Parker,” you said as you bit into an apple.
It was almost the end of the school week and every day you found yourself sitting at Peter and Ned— and technically Michelle’s— table. Peter hadn’t said a word the whole time since your first encounter, letting Ned do most, all, of the talking.
“It’s cause he’s never talked to a girl.”
“You don’t talk to girls either, Ned. It’s not that. I just don’t want to make you feel weird, I know everyone just talks about your dad.”
“Thank you, I guess… I think you two are kinda cool.”
“You’d be the first,” Michelle muttered. She gave a cheesy smile when the three of you looked over at her.
“Do you want to come over?” you asked, indicating the several seats between you and her.
“I’m good watching from over here, thanks.”
You opened your mouth to say something and then closed it again. Michelle reminded you of Natasha. Weirdly hard shell but good person over all. She wasn’t really making fun of anyone, just snippy comments, so you were content to let her be and hoped that maybe she’d join the table one day.
“Do you like legos?” Ned asked, causing Peter to bang his head on the table.
“Never played with them.”
“Oh, dude, me and Peter have so many sets. You’ve got to join, we’re doing one this Friday.”
“I can’t… I have my UN meeting. Maybe, when I get back Sunday?”
Peter looked up. He wasn’t expecting you to actually enjoy what he and Ned found interesting.
“Yeah, yeah, that’d be cool. We should exchange phone numbers. To make a date I mean— not a date date, like for the set…”
You pulled out your phone and shoved it into Peter’s hand, shutting him up. He and Ned gave you their phones. They both laughed when they saw the contact name you listed: Your Favorite Avenger.
“Don’t give my number to anyone. I’ve already had to change it twice… and don’t lose your phone, please.”
Ned held his phone to his chest. “I’ll guard it with my life.”
“You’re so weird. I like that.”
“I hope it’s not rude,” Peter started. “But I was wondering about your hearing aids.”
“Ask away, I don’t mind.”
“Do you wear them all the time? And can you hear without them?”
“I pretty much wear them all the time. I’m moderately deaf in my right ear and hard of hearing in my left, it’s just a lot of straining to hear without them.”
“Oh. I was just wondering because I didn’t see an interpreter with you.”
“Yeah, Principal Morita offered but I’m okay without one. I only sign with my dad really, not many people bother. I get by just fine… one second.”
Your phone went off and the special ringtone told you it was Tony before you even checked the phone. Peter and Ned watched your expression shift as you picked up the phone.
“Happy?”
“Yeah, kid. Tony got called in and can’t pick you up. I’m gonna get you but it’s going to be late.”
“How late?”
“I don’t know, I’m running errands for him currently.”
Happy spoke carefully. Steve had made everyone in the compound aware of your separation anxiety and the need to have exact times and schedules about when people were with you.
“Happy?” your voice rose. “An hour? Two hours?”
“Sarah, I honestly can’t tell you.”
“Hey, you okay?” Peter asked when your voice rose.
You muted the call for a minute. “My Uncle Tony can’t pick me up right away.”
“Tony? The Mr. Stark?” Ned said, excitedly.
Peter picked up on how you seemed worried.
“Do you want to come home with us? He can pick you up from my apartment, I live with my Aunt May close to school. It’s not very far at all.”
You breathed out a sigh of relief at not being alone anymore.
“Thank you, Peter. Happy? It’s fine, I’m going home with a friend… yes, I’ll text you the address. Yes, he’s trustworthy… No! It’s my first week, he’s a friend. Peter Parker… What kind of a name is Happy? Mmm hmm, I won’t forget to text you. I’ll do it right when I hang up. Okay, bye.”
“Your life seems interesting,” Peter said once you hung up.
“Hectic. It’s hectic,” you admitted. “So, what’s your address?”

Chapter 51: The Rat That Didn’t Drown
January for most people is the slowest month of the year. Yet for the Avengers it was a different situation. Many of you heading out on missions, and sending teams out to ones you couldn’t cover.
You were walking towards the tactical room to prep for yet another upcoming mission when Tony intercepted you.
“Ah, Elsa just the person I wanted to see,” Tony says turning on his heel to follow you.
“What is it Tony, I’m kinda busy at the moment,” you say tapping away at the tablet you held.
“I have a potential new recruit” he explains making you stop and turn to look at him raising a brow.
“Really? Who?” You ask.
“I don’t know what they call him but he’s strong, web-slinger, spider kinda vibe” Tony explains passing you a smaller tablet which showed a video of a hero stopping a speeding car.
“Interesting, what’s the name?” You say passing the tablet back and beginning to walk again.
“Peter Parker, he’s from Queens, a student at midtown high,” Tony says making you stop and face him again.
“Wait what? How old is this guy?” You ask holding your hand out to make him pause.
“15,” Tony says making you instantly roll your eyes.
“Tony he’s a kid! We can’t recruit him!” You exclaim.
“He’s already out there working though” Tony points out.
“As a friendly neighbour spiderman! He’s not dealing with terrorists and international arms dealers like we are” you argue shaking your head at him.
“What about just training?” Tony offers.
“No, he’s safer away from this, when he’s older we can consider recruiting him but not now,” you tell him firmly.
“If something happened to him it would be on our hands and I can’t have that, as much as it would be handy to have some extra hands you know this is a bad idea deep down” you sigh.
“Yeah you’re right, just wanted to float the idea by you” Tony sighs nodding his head.
“But keep monitoring him through, he might attract unwanted attention and if we can prevent that behind the scenes then let’s do it” you suggest.
“Got it,” Tony says saluting you “good luck on the mission”
“Thanks, stay outta trouble” you warn him playfully as you head back off.
“Sorry I’m late Stark ambushed me,” you say as you join the team in the tactical room.
“What did he want?” Steve asks raising a brow.
“It was nothing, I’ll explain later,” you say waving it off “so what’s the situation?”
“Standard terrorist cell, the word is however they’ve constructed bombs and other forms of weaponised tech” Nat explains pulling up the hologram of the base.
“Well, at least they had the decency to build their base away from everyone else” you mutter as you look down at the map.
“Means it’s more likely to be heavily guarded though” Steve points out.
“Thus more headaches for us” Nat adds.
“So what’s the plan?” Sam asks crossing his arms over his chest.
“Since we have the luxury of space we’re gonna draw them out, we’re gonna launch our main attack on this watch tower here. Rhodey, Vision and Sam attack them at all angles” Steve explains pointing at the hologram.
“When they start sending reinforcements Wanda I want you to use your powers to cause confusion, nothing too bad just disorientate them, make them easy for us to take out” Steve continues looking over at Wanda.
“Then we’re gonna perform a tactical retreat make them think they’re winning, spread them thin, this will allow Nat and Y/N to sneak in, steal the intel and set the bombs. Once they give the signal Sam and Rhodey you will fly in and pick them up. The rest of us should be out of the blast zone at the point ready to trigger the bombs” Steve finishes.
“Sound good?” He asks looking at everyone.
“Good, when do we head out?” Rhodey asks.
“Get what you need and we’ll go,” Steve says everyone nodding in agreement.
Once everyone else had left the room to gear up Steve turned to you putting a hand on your arm.
“Hey you okay, you seemed agitated when you walked in,” Steve says gently.
You let out a deep sigh “yeah, just Tony being his usual self again” you explain.
“What did he do?” Steve asks.
“He’s found this kid who’s got powers and he asked me about recruiting him, but I told him no because this kid is just far too young” you sigh shaking your head.
“Sometimes I just think Tony just acts without thinking things through, I mean look what happened with Ultron,” you say, Steve, nodding his head in agreement.
“I know, like sometimes I feel like Wanda is too young to be doing all this, and she’s in her 20s” Steve sighs in agreement.
“I told him no but to keep tabs on him for the future” you explain.
“Hey you did the right thing, so don’t worry about it, now c’mon let's go beat up some bad guys,” Steve says making you chuckle.
A few hours later you were in the middle of nowhere hiding up a tree waiting to sneak into the base. In the near distance, you could see the rest of the team attacking the watch tower.
“They’re sending more people out towards you guys,” Nat tells the team over the comms.
“Great, you guys head in and we’ll start pulling back” Steve responds.
“Ready Romanoff?” You ask.
“Let's go avatar,” Nat says making you chuckle.
You look down at the guards by the door near you. There were only two of them and no one else around. So you used your powers to make roots grow up and around them pinning them to the wall.
When you landed down beside them you knocked them out to ensure they did raise the alarm. You then snuck into the base utilising the dark corridors to slip past the guards. Any you did encounter were quickly and quietly taken out.
Once you made it to the weapons lab you slipped in. As you took down the first guy you used your powers to restrain the rest. One held a gun out at you, but you froze the barrel causing it to explode in his hand. Once they were disposed of you make quick work downloading the intel and setting the bombs.
“Nat, you done?” You ask into the comms.
“Yeah ready for extraction” Nat responds.
“We’re gonna need you guys to stall, we’re not out of the blast radius yet” you hear Steve say over the comms.
As you curse your turn to spot an agent standing in the doorway. Before you can react, he runs off raising the alarm.
“Shit, we don’t have time we’ve been made” you warn them.
“Rhodey and Sam don’t come for us I’ll get us out, focus on getting you guys clear now” you instruct running through the base “Nat meet me on the roof”
“What about the bombs?” Nat asks once you both get to the roof.
“Set them for a delayed detention,” you say tapping on the small tablet.
“Ready?” Nat asks.
“Let’s go” you set setting the bombs off.
You then grabbed Nat and took off, flying as fast as you could away from the base. 45 seconds later the bombs detonated, and you could feel the heat of the explosion. Which was soon followed by the blast of air which hit the both of us making you lose control for a moment.
“Shit” you curse as you try and gain control but your landing was still rough. Both of you landed on a heap on the floor.
“You okay?” You ask Nat as you catch your breath.
“Yeah, I’m good just give me a minute” Nat pants, wincing slightly from her spot on the floor.
“You guys okay?” Sam asks as the team runs over to meet you.
“Peachy” you smirk as Steve helps you up.
“Well I’d say that was a success,” Nat says shrugging her shoulders.
“Definitely, now let's head back to the jet we can do a debrief in the morning” Steve nods his head in agreement.
You had just gotten back to the jet when you got an incoming message from one of your teams.
“Agent Gomez, how’d the mission go? Did you get the crossbones gang attacking the police stations?” You ask leaning over the pilot seat where Steve was sitting.
“They were gone before we arrived again, but they left stuff this time” Gomez explained.
“What do you mean they left stuff?” Steve asked confused.
“It’s hard to explain, it’s probably better if you guys came and had a look yourselves,” Gomez says.
“Alright, we’re not too far from your location so we’ll be there as soon as we can,” you say as you look up their coordinates.
The team dropped you off in the small town before making their way back to the compound.
As you approached you could see the cordons in place. Some of the agents kept the crowds back while others talked to the police. There were medics also on the ground tending to the wounded.
“Agent Gomez” you greet when you spot him talking to one of the officers.
“Thank you for coming” Gomez greets shaking both your hands.
“Looks likes they caused a lot of chaos, any fatalities?” Steve asks glancing around.
“No just a few officers were wounded but nothing major” Gomez explains as the three of you walk towards the station.
“So what is it that they left?” Steve asks as you step inside.
“This” Gomez says pointing to the break area.
The entire station was trashed but in the break area, there was Avengers-themed graffiti. The thing that caught your eye though was the dartboard with a picture of Steve pinned to it. Darts sticking out across his face.
“And that wasn’t there before,” Steve asks pointing at the dart board.
“No according to the captain of the station, they locked all the officers up in the holding cell before stealing their weapons and trashing the place” Gomez explains.
You furrow your brows as you looked around at it all. None of it made sense.
“They haven’t trashed any other stations they’ve hit have they?” You ask rubbing your chin in thought.
“No, they’ve been very methodical in the past” Gomez confirms.
“And it was definitely the same people, not a copycat group,” Steve asks hands on his hips.
“All the statements we’ve collected so far match the profile we’ve made,” Gomez says.
“It almost seems like they’re trying to get our attention,” you say thinking out loud.
“You think they’re just trying to make a name for themselves, get themselves caught,” Steve asks looking over at you.
“Maybe, lots of serial killers make conscious mistakes for the same reason” Gomez agrees.
“Let’s continue gathering evidence then see if they’ve given us anything else” Steve instructs.
Tumblr media
A couple of days later you and Steve were sat in his office looking over all the evidence collected related to the crossbones gang. You were getting nowhere, and it was getting frustrating.
“There must be something we’re missing” you huff in annoyance collapsing back onto the couch.
“I know, they seem to have a vendetta against us which doesn’t really narrow it down” Steve sighs running his hand through his hair.
“Well it was you who was on the dartboard, is there anyone you’ve specifically pissed off?” You ask.
“Just the entirety of Hydra, but these guys aren’t affiliated with Hydra so that doesn’t help,” Steve says with a light chuckle.
Your conversation was then interrupted by someone knocking at the door. As you look over you see Sam poking his head in.
“Hey, Sam what’s up?” You ask sitting up.
“I was just watching some of the news coverage from that last police station attack and they showed a clip of the attackers leaving and you can hear them talking,” Sam says walking over.
“Do they say anything useful?” Steve asks sitting up.
“No, but listen to crossbones’ voice” Sam says playing the clip.
As you watch the video of the gang leaving the station you can hear crossbones shouting orders to his men. You realise with a start that you recognise his voice but you couldn’t place where from.
“I recognise that voice,” Steve says his brows furrowed in thought.
“I’ll admit it’s a bit gravelly than it used to be but you’d expect that after a building collapsed on you,” Sam says and you finally put the pieces together.
“Rumlow?” You say not believing it.
“I thought he was dead, his dog tags were in the rubble,” Steve says shocked.
“It was on the records that he did, but I did a little digging and found that they recovered a person who was burnt all over and non-identifiable, John Doe then once recovered enough assaulted his nurse and left the hospital” Sam explains.
“Yeah that sounds like Rumlow” Steve sighs shaking his head.
“And it explains why it was you on the dartboard” you add.
“Well we know who we’re going to be focusing on from this point onwards” Steve sighs leaning back in his chair.
“Do you want me to prep the team?” Sam asks.
“No it’s fine, there seems to be a month or so gap between the attacks so we have time to plan and work out our next steps,” Steve says shaking his head.
As you watched him you could see his mind ticking over as the information sunk in. You knew him well enough to see the emotions bubbling under the surface.
“Thanks, Sam you did a good job,” you say giving him a small smile.
He nods his head glancing over at Steve before heading out. You look back over at Steve to see the nerve in his jaw twitching as he thought.
“Hey, you okay?” You ask reaching over and putting your hand on his knee.
“Hmm yeah I’m fine,” Steve says forcing a smile.
You both knew he was lying but you decided to just leave it for now and not push it. Knowing he needed time to digest the information you’d just learnt.
“Hey, I was thinking of heading to the gym and training for a bit if you want to join,” you say standing up.
“Yeah sounds good I’ll meet you down there,” Steve says nodding his head in agreement.
“Okay well, I’ll see you down there then,” you tell him moving over to wrap your arm around his shoulders and kiss the top of his head.
He gives you another small smile wrapping his arm around you before you step away.
“See you in a bit doll” Steve smiles as you head out.
It was about an hour later when Steve joined you in the compound gym. At which point you were sparing with Nat. He greeted the both of you before wrapping up his hands and moving over to the punching bags. His workout started pretty casually but soon enough he started attacking the bag with more vigour.
“So what’s up with cap?” Nat asks as you took a water break on the other side of the gym.
“Rumlow is alive,” you tell her quietly.
“I thought he got buried under the Triskelion, they found his dog tags,” Nat says furrowing her brows.
“Well somehow he survived whether he lost his dog tags on purpose or not I don’t know, I just can’t believe he’s been out there all this time” you sigh shaking your head.
“And I’m guessing he didn’t take the news well,” Nat says glancing over at Steve.
“I don’t know, he was definitely shocked so I think he’s just processing it all” you sigh shrugging your shoulders.
“Well let’s hope for Stark’s bank account it doesn’t take too long,” Nat says just as Steve rips the bag open.
“Steve pays for them now, Tony refused to pay for anymore,” you tell her making her snort in laughter quieter.
“Anyway let’s get back to training, I have a feeling Rumlow won’t go easy” you sigh heading back over to the sparring mat.
Steve remained quiet the rest of the day, keeping himself busy. When the two of you sat down to eat dinner you watched as he pushed his food around his plate. You knew just how bad his mind must be for him to not to eat at all.
“Steve, what is it?” You ask reaching out over the table to touch his arm.
Steve glances up at you before looking back down with a deep sigh shaking his head slightly.
“This news about Rumlow, it just- its-“ he sighs shaking his head.
“A lot to take in” you finish for him earning a small smile from him.
“Yeah” he sighs in agreement.
“How are you feeling about it all?” You ask him hand moving to hold his.
“I don’t know, so many different things, at first I was angry that he got free, especially when I remembered everything he did, but then I thought that maybe he knows something about Bucky, and what if he’s what finally leads us to Bucky” Steve explains.
You get up from your seat moving to stand beside him wrapping your arm around his shoulder.
“Don’t beat yourself up about him getting away, we knew that lots of rats didn’t go down. And if he does know something about Bucky then we’ll get it from him one way or another because I promise that we will find him. And just remember this, that fact we haven’t found Bucky is a good sign because it means he’s still free” you remind him.
“I just wish he was here, it was bad enough waking up in this century with all my memories, I can’t imagine how it must be with no or broken memories” Steve sighs shaking his head.
“And we’ll help him together, we’ll do everything we can to make his new life free from Hydra and everything they’ve done to him a good one,” you tell him squeezing his shoulder.
Steve smiles up at you before moving you so you were sat across his lap. Wrapping his arms around you tightly, burying his head in the crook of your neck. You smile as you wrap your arms around him, just holding onto him.
“Thank you” he sighs kissing your shoulder.
“It’s nothing I’d do anything for you, wherever you go, I’ll go,” you tell him as he looks up to meet your gaze.
He smiles before cupping your cheek and pulling your lips to his for a sweet kiss.

Headcanon that Dav and Bilite are brother and sister twins. And they would even be confused with each other if it weren't for the differences in screens and behavior.
Bilite really wants to go to Midtown, she even tried to sneak unnoticed past the adults to Clementine. But when Aunt Clementine herself stopped Bilite and said that she would surely come back and take her upstairs, Bilite stopped trying.
Dav is a very diligent student. He memorizes information quickly and he is very fond of asking obvious questions that Aunt Clementine will answer anyway. Dav is even in some ways her favorite student; he reminds her of when she was a young, inquisitive little Clemmy.
mhm... Okay, that's bullshit. NIGHT BULLSHIT. Yipee 🎉🎉

Goodbye Grey Sky, Hello Blue - 7
Tumblr media
Summary: In an alternate universe where trains and zeppelins are still common forms of travel and the internet and cell phones exist, nineteen year old Peter Parker has few options left after he’s swindled out of his inheritance. Unable to pay for college, let alone keep the house left to him by his deceased aunt, he’s running out of time before he’s out on the streets. Desperate, Peter signs his life over to the Bureau of Civic Spousal Selections to take his chances as the selected husband of a complete stranger. After all, he only has to make it through a year and then he can choose to annul.
Dr. Stephen Strange has little interest in marriage, preferring to focus on his career. When his career is threatened by what a nosy board of directors considers a “lack of personal fulfillment and settling down,” he opts to select a spouse through the BCSS and chooses Peter Parker. The young man’s profile he’d briefly skimmed suggests intelligence and compatibility. It’s not ideal, but if after a year it’s not working out, he can always annul the marriage and send Peter on his way.
It’s a marriage neither truly wants, with sharp learning curves for both. It’s either going to be forever or it’s going to go down in flames.

Chapter 7

Peter barely had time to set his books down on a shelf before Betty pounced and swept him up into a fierce hug.
“Oh my goodness, it’s so good to see you!” she said, once she let go.
“You too,” Peter agreed.
“What are you doing here so far away from New York?” she asked. “Is Columbia on break?”
“No, uh, I uh, I’m not enrolled, actually,” Peter said, face flushing with embarrassment.
She frowned, nose scrunching in the cute way she’d always hated. “What do you mean, you’re not enrolled? Peter, they chose you for early admission! You wrote for the Van Dyne Science Journal!”
“I know,” he said. “It just… it just didn’t work out.”
“Peter…” Betty looked less confused, more concerned. “Peter, what happened? Are you okay?”
Peter couldn’t lie. Not to Betty, not to the girl who was his first kiss. But the words weren’t easy, either. So he held up his hand, letting the silver ring do the talking.
“You’re married?” Betty asked, astonished. “You’re actually married? I didn’t know you were even seeing anyone. I mean, I know I moved away from Midtown a few years ago, but I thought for sure you’d be too busy with school to see anyone seriously.”
“I haven’t been,” Peter said. “It’s uh, it's a BCSS marriage.”
He knew it would be the case, but the disappointment on Betty’s face was worse than anger would have been. Betty, like many people in their age group, wasn’t a fan of the Bureau of Civic Spousal Selections and viewed it as a farce and little more than government-sanction human trafficking. She’d done her sophomore year term paper on it and gotten the highest score in their year. Then she’d gotten harassed by some students who were the products of BCSS marriages and Peter knew that her father’s job transfer out of Midtown had been a huge relief.
“What happened to you?” she asked sadly.
Peter motioned over to the seating area by the children’s section. They sat and Peter finally explained.
“And you never heard from him again?” Betty asked when he got to the crux of it, of May’s death along with his departure from Midtown and the life he’d known, planned on. “Beck?”
Peter shook his head. “He was in the wind with everything. I’m not even sure Quentin Beck is his real name. But without the money, I couldn’t keep the house and the bank took it. It was either the streets, the military, or signing myself over to the BCSS. I chose the one least likely to get me killed.”
Betty nodded. “And are you happy? Does she treat you well? Or is it a he?”
“He’s a doctor. Surgeon, actually. And he’s… he’s fair, I guess. The whole thing is still pretty new, but I think I can be content. It’s for a year and if it doesn’t work out, we part ways.” He couldn’t, wouldn’t give her the details, not when so much of it still felt so raw. His cock was locked in a cage. And he didn’t want her to worry, not about him. Not when everything was the result of choices - ill-informed or not - he’d made. “But how many people we know can say they bagged a doctor?"
His teasing got the laugh out of her he’d hoped for. “And you’re okay? Really?” she asked. Betty Brant was one of the good ones, Peter thought.
“Yeah. I’ll survive. Somehow, I always do.”
“Peter? I’m ready to check out.”
Peter looked up to see Stephen carrying several books. He didn’t look angry, really, but vaguely annoyed.
“Stephen, yeah, sorry, I ran into an old friend and lost track of time,” Peter said, scrambling up. Betty rose as well, albeit much more gracefully. “This is Betty Brant. We grew up next door to each other. Betty, this is my husband, Dr. Stephen Strange.” And wasn’t that the weirdest damn sentence he’d ever spoken!
“It’s a pleasure,” Stephen said, nodding to Betty.
“Likewise.” Betty turned to Peter, hugged him again. “I should be getting going. Take care of yourself, okay?”
“Yeah, always. You, too!”
Betty smiled at Stephen, though Peter could see it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “It was nice meeting you. Be good to him, alright? He’s kind of special.”
She left and Peter slowly gathered up the books he’d set down. “I’m really sorry,” he said. "I had no idea she’d be here and I just lost track of the time.”
“Obviously,” Stephen said dryly.
Tumblr media
They went to the checkout and Stephen paid for everything without a glance at him. When they left, they went back to the lot where Stephen had parked. Peter again found himself looking up to study the zeppelins.
“You’re fascinated by them,” Stephen commented.
“I guess,” Peter said. “The science of them is what fascinates me, and why they’re the standard and not airplanes, or anything else that’s been attempted.”
“And you enjoy science.”
He knew that, Peter thought. He’d read Peter’s profile, right? Unless the BCSS just really slash-and-burned his biography. “Yeah. Biochemistry, mostly.”
He was going to be a scientist, before. Before Beck.
“We have a couple of hours before our dinner reservation. We could visit the natural history museum if you’d like.”
Peter got the distinct impression his opinion didn’t actually matter. “Sure! I love a good museum.”
So after they deposited their bags, they drove further into the city and Stephen pulled up to the valet parking at the museum.
Peter had only been to the smaller museums an hour or so away from Midtown, and those had been focused on art. This place, he thought as he studied the map an attendant handed him, was definitely better.
The exhibit on meteorites was amazing, and he nearly lost it when he saw there was a traveling exhibit on viruses and bacteria. It was all so exciting! He could spend days in the museum and not be bored.
Stephen seemed to be fairly relaxed as they walked around. He’d probably been to this place dozens of times, but he was letting Peter pick what exhibits to visit and read up on, brushing off the docent’s offer of a guided tour.
Stephen was more interested in the aeronautic displays than Peter would have thought. He spent long minutes reading through the placards on the Hindenburg’s 200th Flight, the revolutionary first flight with synthetic helium, and advancements in design.
“Can you believe some places wanted to use hydrogen?” Peter asked, studying the display.
“I believe history would be very different if hydrogen had been used,” Stephen replied.
Tumblr media
Dinner was at another fancy restaurant, and Peter studied the menu to see if there was anything he could eat. He settled on a salad without the bacon pieces and baked fish with rice pilaf.
Stephen ordered a steak with roasted vegetables and a baked potato. He was definitely a meat and potatoes kind of guy, Peter thought. He’d have to take that into consideration.
Stephen wasn’t exactly attentive during dinner, but he was polite and Peter noticed that he treated the waitstaff well. He didn’t open up about himself but did ask Peter how he enjoyed the museum.
“It was great!” Peter enthused as they drove back to Sanctum Heights. “I always wanted to go to a natural history museum but there weren’t any within the state's permissible field trip range of Midtown. There were a few art museums and they were nice.” He paused, then decided to make a gesture of goodwill. “This whole day has been nice. Thank you.”
Stephen didn’t take his focus away from the road. “You’re welcome.”
Tumblr media
Peter was fast asleep when Stephen cleaned him up and went into his office. He hadn’t heard the whole conversation between Peter and his… friend. But he’d heard enough.
He hadn’t expected Peter to sing his praises - he certainly wouldn’t do so about Peter. Sure, Peter wasn’t a moron. And he was undeniably nice to look at. If nothing else… the sex was nice and if a year was all they stayed together for, Stephen would take full advantage.
Still, what he’d heard rubbed him the wrong way.
When he made the call, he wasn’t entirely sure what his plan was. But he might as well ask.
“You have reached the Life Model Decoy of Tony Sta-”
“Cut the bullshit, Tony,” Stephen interrupted with a laugh. “It’s not even eight pm over there.”
“What’s up, Bones?”
Stephen’s fond smile at the reference was probably apparent in his voice. “I was hoping to borrow your wife.”
There was a pause. "Jesus, Strange, we aren’t that kinky!
“And the world is all the better because of that fact,” he said. “I’m married, in any case.”
“You’re joking! Dr. Stephen V. Strange is married?! What the hell prompted that?” Tony asked.
“My last-ditch effort to get the hospital’s damned board of directors off my ass. After convincing themselves I was miserable and lonely, they decided the best way to fix it would be for me to settle down.”
“I’m guessing my wife’s crazy cousin was involved, too?” Stephen made an affirmative sound. “So what, you just pulled someone off the street and married them?”
“Not exactly. I went to the BCSS.”
“I thought I’d seen that news report about hell freezing over,” Tony said. “You bought a spouse. What’s she like? Blonde and brainy? A redhead, maybe?”
“He’s got brown hair, brown eyes, a smart mouth, and this entire ordeal is a pain in my ass.”
“Whatever you say, Strange," Tony replied, as though he didn't believe Stephen at all. "You said you wanted to speak to my hotter half?”
“If you’d be so kind.”
“Just a minute.” Stephen heard some shuffling and then Tony’s voice calling “Share-bear!” More shuffling. “Yes, it’s Stephen.” A pause. “Fine, take the phone.”
“Hello, Stephen.”
Stephen smiled at hearing her. “Hello, Sharon. I hope you’re doing well.”
“I’m wonderful, thank you. I’m guessing you called because of my particular skill set.”
He grinned. Even on the phone nothing got past her. “I did. Quinten Beck. He’s a con man, last active in New York state around Midtown about two months ago. It’s probably an alias, but if you were to do some digging, I’d appreciate it.”
“B-e-c-k?”
“I’m assuming,” Stephen said. “Not that a misspelling is enough to stop you.”
“True. I’ll look into him. What’s the interest, if I may ask?”
“He’s the reason I have my husband.”
Tumblr media
Peter was still asleep when he slipped back into bed and Stephen had no problem going that way himself.
He woke up to the smell of meat frying and stretched languorously in bed before getting up. Having breakfast made for him every day certainly wasn’t a hassle. Anything was better than eating what passed for food in the cafeteria at Sanctum General.
He showered and dressed and then went downstairs to find Peter…kneading what looked like dough on a heavily floured countertop.
“So you can make bread,” he said, getting his own cup of coffee.
“Yep. Just a minute,” Peter said. He worked the dough some more and then transferred it into a greased bowl and covered it with a tea towel. He set it in the oven and then brought Stephen a plate of fried potatoes and an omelet after running the microwave for a few seconds.
Stephen wondered where Peter’s food was. “Aren’t you hungry?”
“Oh, right!” Peter went to the fridge and pulled out a little container. Grabbing a spoon, he sat down.
“That’s it?” Stephen asked.
“What? It’s oats. I have peanut butter, bananas, chia seeds, and almond milk mixed in. It’s plenty.”
“You wouldn’t rather have an omelet?” It just didn’t seem like enough for a meal, especially with all they’d done yesterday and how late he’d kept Peter up the previous night. Surely this wasn’t some kind of hunger-strike?
“Trust me, this is more filling than you’re thinking. I’ll have plenty of energy for mowing the lawn and working on the flowers today.”
“Do you have anything else planned?”
“I have to finish baking, launder the clothes you bought me yesterday along with the sheets, and eventually start on dinner.”
And Stephen was just going to read all day. Compared to what Peter would be up to, he was going to be positively lazy. It didn’t matter - Stephen was the one on vacation, not Peter. Peter would have plenty of time for himself once Stephen went back to work.
Tumblr media
Stephen retreated to his den to read and eventually the smell of baking bread permeated the whole house. It smelled incredible and he was looking forward to sampling a slice or five at dinner. He hadn’t had fresh baked bread since he’d dismissed Ms. Drew - with a glowing reference - a month prior. Store-bought just wasn’t the same.
It was interesting, how Ms. Drew was so circumspect and quiet whenever she tended to the house and Peter made no attempt to keep noise down. He supposed that was the difference between hired staff and someone who lived in a house. In any case, Peter was more than capable.
He went into the kitchen to make lunch and saw a note on the counter.
Sandwiches and vegetables with hummus in the fridge. Please don’t touch the bread.
With a snort, Stephen grabbed the plate Peter had made up and very deliberately did not search out the bread he’d smelled baking. As he ate he heard the lawnmower in the backyard. He hoped Peter knew what he was doing, especially when he moved to the front yard. The last thing he needed was for neighbors communicating their concern over the state of his lawn.
Eventually, the sound dulled and as he read, he mused that Peter had moved to the front yard.
When he finished his book he didn’t hear anything and he realized that Peter was finished mowing. He’d probably moved on to the flowerbeds. It was hot out so why not do the considerate thing and take Peter a glass of water?
When he went outside, he didn't see Peter right away, but he did see several ladies from the neighborhood in lawn chairs across the street watching the house. He looked around and saw Peter on his hands and knees, weeding. He was wearing shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt in deference to the heat and when he sat back to wipe at the sweat on his brow, smearing dirt on his forehead, Stephen noticed how the ladies across the street strained their necks.
Peter was, unknowingly (and this was Stephen assuming, since Peter just didn’t seem the type), providing the neighborhood a show.
“Peter?” Peter looked up and saw Stephen. “I thought you’d like a glass of water.”
Peter actually beamed at him. “Thanks! It’s a little hot out here!”
Peter stood and took the glass, draining half of it in one gulp and then pouring the rest over his own head… presumably in an attempt to cool down. Stephen could have sworn there was a flash from across the street. He didn’t care for that whatsoever.
“The flower beds aren’t in terrible shape, but the weeds have been allowed to grow for too long. One of my old neighbors, Mr. Hoffman, was a master gardener and he showed me a few tricks.”
Stephen nodded as if he knew anything about gardening other than to pay someone to handle it for him. As if he was oblivious to the fact that his young husband was ridiculously beautiful and in great shape and very much on display to women in the neighborhood with nothing better to do than to ogle a man who wasn’t theirs.
“I should be finished in another half an hour or so. Then I’ll get started on dinner once I clean up. Okay?"
“Yes, that will be fine,” Stephen said, voice even. “Come find me after you shower, okay?”
Peter cocked his head, confused. “Sure. Is everything okay?”
Stephen wasn’t sure. He hadn’t liked the thought of a spouse. For some reason he didn't want to think too closely on, he liked the idea of other people lusting over his spouse even less.
“Everything is fine,” Stephen said. “I’ll be in my office.”

[Reblogs and comments would be highley appreciated]
The way Eleanor Rigby and Gwen met was rather awkward. Gwen came as a new student at the beginning of Sophomore year, and wanted to join the Decathlon team.Mj initially wanted to suggest to Peter to give her a tour of the school, but since he left the meet up early, Eleanor had to give Gwen the tour.
Eleanor noticed that Gwen was tired and confused, which made him more eager to be friendly to her, to show her that Midtown High was a welcoming place, just like how Peter had shown him. After the tour was over, the two hadn't talked for a week, even if they did want to know each other more, especially Gwen, who noticed Eleanor’s doodles on the sketchbook he always carried with him, but she was afraid to talk, as everyone whom she thought was a friend to her only talked to her to either gossip or out of pity.
It was only a rainy day that gave them the chance of a new friendship once again. Both of them were going to the comic book store, but Gwen didn’t have an umbrella with her and Eleanor noticed that, so he let Gwen sit under his umbrella. On their way there, Gwen asked him what were his favourite comics, and Eleanor answered joyfully, since talking about heroes, their stories and the art of comic books was his favourite topic.Gwen was further fascinated by Eleanor, since at first glance he was a shy person, but given the chance to talk, the opportunity of friendship, one could discover a creative and idealistic person. At the comic book store, Gwen also told Eleanor she’s an artist, and a huge fan of animes and cartoons, as they have influenced her art style. Eleanor’s eyes sparkled, suggesting that they could meet up at a caffe to draw one day.And so they talked for hours, and hours and hours.
As time went on, the two would start hanging out together more and more. Eleanor felt that whenever he talked to Gwen, his day brightened up, her joy, her passion about her favourite subjects, her rambles about her favourite early 2000s emo bands inspired him. While he also would often hang out with Peter, Ned and Mj, their friendship giving him joy, there was something else about Gwen, something…special.Maybe it was her laughter, or her rebellious attitude, her confidence about the world, her future ,her sense of fashion that made her look like a mix between Barbie and Harley Quinn or how she was a skilled artist and drummer, Gwen being the first person Eleanor showed his electric guitar skills.
“Maybe we could start a band one day, but we would still need a singer” the two of them would often think.Gwen was courageous, defending Eleanor whenever someone would try and mock him or leading people to safety whenever danger would ensure and Spider-man hasn't arrived to save the day yet, Eleanor would ask himself sometimes if Gwen was a superhero like Peter.
Not long after he returned to the blip, it hit him…he was in love with Gwen Stacy. But at the same time he was too afraid to do anything about it, he didn't want to ruin the wonderful friendship they already had,he would wonder anxiously if Gwen would no longer want to be friends with him had he confessed his love to her.
But what he didn’t know was that Gwen was in love with him as much as he was in love with her.His kindness, his sparkle wherever he gushed about his favourite subjects, his gracefulness. He reminded her of a prince, or of Howl Jenkins Pendragon. She loved how he romanticised life, how he dreamed with open eyes, his patience whenever she rambled about how annoyed she was whenever her uncle wanted her to be as successful as her cousin, the astronaut, how well he played the electric guitar, his kindness or how well organised he was.
Both of them are afraid of what the other would think, were they to confess their love to each other. The best thing they could do was hold onto the amazing friendship that they had, their movie marathons, drawing sessions, their long conversations. Nothing could ruin what they had, it was Eleanor and Gwen against the insanity of the world.

Spider-Man: Home Rebuilt, Chapter 17: Countdown
As I swung through the city, a part of me felt a bit nostalgic. I remembered all of the times I swung through the city to get to Midtown as soon as possible so I wouldn’t be late or too late to class. That feeling of nostalgia was far from my biggest concern. I was a bit more concerned about the fact that my sixth sense was suddenly acting like a compass and a lot more concerned that Midtown was being held hostage, which meant that MJ, Ned, and Betty were in danger.
I didn’t stop for anything. I kept on swinging until there were no more skyscrapers to swing from. I swan dived forward before I somersaulted and landed on all fours. I looked forward. Midtown was in sight, but it was still quite a bit of ways off. I could easily run the rest of the way – I could actually hit 70 miles an hour on foot when I put my all into it.
But I didn’t have to worry about hoofing it. I heard a honk behind me. I looked over my shoulder to see a black SUV speeding towards me. It was the same armored one that Cyclops and Shadowcat arrived in Brooklyn with to bail me and Frictor out. Sure enough, as I stared at the window, it was them. The SUV showed no sign of slowing down. Realizing that, I waited for a few moments. I then jumped into the air, flipped backward, and landed on the roof of the still speeding SUV. I hung on and looked forward as the vehicle covered the rest of the distance.
Just outside of the school premises, the SUV turned and drove between two trees in a small wooded area before it came to a stop. I hopped off of the roof as Cylcops and Shadowcat exited the vehicle. Kitty was dressed in that full body suit of hers with the domino mask. Interestingly, she had a holster strapped to each of her thighs. Cyclops, on the other hand, was dressed in black cargo pants, a pair of black Under Armour athletic boots, a black t-shirt, and a black tactical vest. On the upper left side of the vest was an encircled X in red. He also had on a black ski mask much like the one he had on during that night in Brooklyn. Over his eyes was another visor. It had a heavy frame with long sliver of a red lens. The visor wrapped around Cyclops’s temples.
“Nice outfit,” I commented. “You look like you’re about to infiltrate the SWAT team.”
“Thanks,” he replied humorlessly. “I figured it would be appropriate. It does remind me of my days serving.”
“Serving?” I tilted my head.
“I was in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. It was part of a compromise. I’ll explain later.”
He pulled out his cellphone and pulled up YouTube. He then pulled up CNBC’s channel, where their news report was being streamed live. He played the video. Shadowcat and I flanked him as we looked down at the screen as the field reporter explained what was going on.
“…what we know now, most of the students has been released. However, the entirety Midtown High’s Academic Decathlon Team remains as hostages as the NYPD continue negotiations. What their demands are and their affiliation have yet to be disclosed. I’ll continue to keep you posted. This is Trish Tilby reporting live from Midtown School of Science and Technology, CNBC.”
I felt my heart sink as my mouth went ajar. “MJ, Ned, and Betty are in there!” I exclaimed. “We got to – !”
“Patience, Spider-Man,” Cyclops interrupted as he locked his phone and tossed it into the truck. “We have to do this smart way. These are people’s lives at stake. We need a plan of attack.”
“So what do we do?”
Cyclops didn’t say anything at first. He looked towards the school. “Spider-Man, how did you and MJ meet?”
I tilted my head in confusion, but answered him anyway. I started to realize that there was always a method to his perceived madness. “I met her here. I used to go here. And we were both a part of the AcaDeca team. Prior to The Spell, that is.”
Scott nodded. He then looked at me. “I’m assuming that AcaDeca is short for Academic Decathlon.” I nodded. “Since you were a part of the team and this school, where do you think the team would be at this time?”
I closed my eyes and bowed my head. I dredged up memories of my time on the team and how MJ operated when she became team captain. I then lifted up my head.
“They might be in the library,” I finally said. “MJ would call a meeting in the morning every now and again.”
“Okay, we can go from there. Most likely, they’ll have men sweeping the hallways. Shadowcat, you’ll get us inside. Once inside, I’ll take on the guards doing sweeps while you two handle the rescue efforts.”
“Got it,” Shadowcat said with a nod. She then looked at me and smiled. “Don’t worry. We’ll get your friends out.”
“Not just them,” I added, realizing I was being a bit selfish earlier. “All of them.”
Shadowcat smiled. “Of course. Shall we?” I nodded. Shadowcat placed a hand on my shoulder. Cyclops walked up to Shadowcat’s other side, and she placed a hand on his shoulder. Shadowcat looked at me. “Whatever you do, just walk naturally and stay with me, okay?”
“Okay.”
We all walked forward. With each step, she gradually sunk into the ground until we were completely “submerged”. We travelled through the ground, walking right through the sprinkler system and other things buried in the earth. We walked through the school’s foundation until I saw a set of pipes. I looked at Shadowcat and pointed up. She nodded before she pulled us upward.
Eventually we ended up in a boy’s bathroom.
“We’re in,” I said with a whisper. “I guess we can try to figure out the best route from here and…”
I trailed off when I heard the sound of a toilet flushing. The three of us turned around just in time to see a masked man walk out of one of the stalls. The masked man looked at us, his eyes wide. He then looked over at the rifle that was laid out across a sink. He took one more glance at us before he turned to try and rush for the weapon. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t quick enough. I webbed his feet to the ground while Cyclops shot a beam at the rifle, blasting it into pieces.
The masked man looked at us with wide eyes, realizing how screwed he was. Cyclops walked up to the masked man and placed his hand on his shoulder.
“I’m Cyclops,” he said in a quiet tone. “And they are Shadowcat and Spider-Man. I’m going to assume you can tell which is which. Anyway, we have a… thing… about people who hold children as hostages. With that said, I’m going to ask you a few questions. I am going to get an answer. Whether or not we get that answer from you willingly is up to you.” I looked to my left to see Shadowcat pull out two kunai out of one of her holsters. She then palmed each one and rubbing the blades together. Realizing she was underscoring Cyclops’ threat, I laced my fingers together and pushed them outwards, cracking my knuckles rather audibly. The masked man audibly gulped. After that, Cyclops continued. “Now, let’s start. How many men are here, you included?”
“T-T-T-Twenty-five.”
“Where are the hostages being kept and how many men are looking over them?”
“In the library, and it’s six.”
Cyclops looked over his shoulder at me and nodded. I smiled underneath my mask and nodded back. I knew he was silently giving me a compliment. He turned his attention back to the man he was interrogating.
“Why are you guys here?”
“…We’re taking the students hostage so we can negotiate the release of one of our own who is in prison.”
“Who are you guys and who are you trying to get released?”
“We’re The Friends of Humanity, and we’re trying to free our revered leader Graydon Creed!” the gunman replied with a bit of pride.
I felt the air go cold as both Shadowcat and Scott looked at him. Scott turned away and walked a few steps. He then turned around and looked at me.
“Spider-Man, please web him up before Shadowcat and I subdue him by less… savory means.”
I didn’t question him – at least, not yet. I brought my hands out and cocooned the gunman from head to toe. As the man struggled, he tipped over, hitting the ground. After that, I looked at Cyclops.
“What was that about?” I asked. “And who are The Friends of Humanity?”
“It’s a long story, so here’s the truncated version,” Scott replied. “Shadowcat, Frictor, and I? We’re mutants.” I tilted my head, not knowing what that meant. “Basically, we get our powers from a very specific gene – the X-Gene, if you will. A lot of people have that gene, but most of those people can go their whole life without their X-Gene becoming active. However, when the gene does become active in them, they become mutants and can get a wide range of abilities.”
“Mutants are widely hated,” Kitty added. “As a matter of fact, there are quite a lot of mutant hate groups, such as The Friends of Humanity, who classify their hate as ‘protecting the human race’.”
“And I’m guessing these guys are like the Ku Klux Klan for mutants,” I commented.
Shadowcat nodded. “Basically. As a matter of fact, there’s quite a bit of overlap in membership between those two groups, and other hate groups for that matter.” She scoffed. “Cyclops and I probably cover at least three different groups these people hate.”
“Three?” I asked. “I mean, your’e both mutants and Cyclops is black. So that’s two groups. What's the third?”
“I’m Jewish, Spidey,” Shadowcat informed.
“…Oh. Oooooh.” I sighed, remembering that MJ and Ned were amongst the hostages. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if these Friends of Humanity were side eyeing them because MJ and Ned were, respectively, Black and Filipino. “Just what we needed – a bunch of bigots with guns.”
“The plan is still the same,” Cyclops reiterated. “But… I might actually get to enjoy this. You two go out first. I’m going to start a ruckus.”
“Are you going to be okay?” I asked. “We’re talking 19 people out there at least since six are in the library.”
At this, Cyclops chuckled as if he found what I said humorous. It was a bit unnerving, given the circumstances. “They might have had a modicum of a chance if they brought 19 more. Now go!”
“With me, Spider-Man,” Shadowcat said as he grabbed my shoulder. I nodded.
“Be careful, Cyclops,” I said.
“You two be careful as well.”
I nodded before I went with Shadowcat. I moved with her as she guided me with through a wall. As we moved inside of the walls, I guided her towards the custodian closet closest to the library. Once in there, Shadowcat took a moment to phase her face through the door briefly before pulling her head.
“Okay, there are two gunmen in front of the library entrance,” Shadowcat said. “I can take them down. Since you know the layout of the library, you think you can handle the six that’s inside?”
“Yeah,” I nodded. It made sense.
Kitty look one more glance towards the library. “How’s your night vision?”
“Very good, actually. Why?”
“Wait here for a few moments.”
With that said, she phased through a wall. I didn’t understand what she was doing. But I figured she knew what she was doing. So, I stood there, alone with my thoughts for a few minutes, just wishing that everyone was okay. After that, Shadowcat phased back in.
“There,” she said. “I just took out almost every single light in the library. It’s pretty dim.” She looked me up and down. “Perhaps next time you should come with a dark costume.”
“Perhaps,” I conceded. “Can you take me in?”
“Of course.”
Shadowcat grabbed me and took me into the wall before pulling me upward. As I moved with her, I finally took a moment to appreciate how cool her ability was. I wish I had that kind of power. It probably would have made my life as a hero a lot easier. Eventually, we were just over the ceiling tiles of the library. She lowered me gently until I was on one of the A/C vents.
“I got it from here,” I whispered to Shadowcat. “…Please be careful.”
“You too, Spidey,” she whispered back as she smiled.
I nodded towards her before I looked down at one of the ceiling tiles. Slowly, I placed my hand on it. I then lifted up my hand just as slowly, picking the tile up. I moved it to my right, leaving an opening for me to look down through. It was almost pitch black, but I could see more than well enough. Carefully, I squeezed through the opening and attached myself to the ceiling. I then reached for the tile and pulled it back into its place.
I slowly moved, keeping my eyes on any guards. It didn’t take long for me to spot two of the gunmen chatting.
“…and you guys thought I was crazy for wanting to bring flashlight attachments!” he commented in a smug tone.
“We were invading one of the most funded schools in broad daylight,” the other gunman pointed out. “You’re acting like we were invading an abandoned warehouse at midnight.”
I kept on crawling until I was in a corner. I shot a strand of webbing into the ceiling before I hung upside down from it. I took a moment to survey the area. There were indeed six gunmen. All of them had rifles on them. All of them were spread out, standing still, no doubt because of the lack of light. I then looked down around for the students. The students were spread out all through the library. I looked all around to see MJ, Ned, and Betty huddled in the corner.
Oh, and Flash and Brad were there, seated a few feet away from them.
I suppose they were important, too.
I huffed out a quiet breath before I stuck to the ceiling again before I crawled over to them. Once I was over them, I once again shot a strand of webbing and lowered myself until I was hanging in front of MJ, Ned, and Betty.
And Flash and Brad. They were there, too.
“Please talk in a whisper,” I said to them, causing all of them to look at me. From the corner of my eye, I saw Flash’s eyes go wide before he took in a breath. Figuring he was going to yell, I webbed his mouth shut. “Or don’t say anything. That’ll work, too.”
“Dude,” Ned whispered. “How’d you sneak in here?”
“Shadowcat. Cyclops is here, too.” I turned my head when I heard the sound of a blast out in the distance. I looked back at Ned. “He doesn’t like these guys very much, to say the least.” I looked over at MJ, who looked at me. She didn’t look thrilled. “You want to give me and your friend a moment?”
“Yeah, sure,” Betty said. She and Ned scooted away, shooing Brad and Flash away as they did so. I cut my line and landed quietly in front of her. I took a knee and looked at her.
“Hey,” I greeted quietly. I got a good look at her. The right side of her bottom lip was swollen and busted open.
“…You didn’t stop by Peter Pan yesterday,” she whispered just loud enough for only the two of us to hear.
“I figured you wanted your space. I did lay a lot on your lap.”
MJ sighed. “Yeah, you’re right.” She gave me a glare. “I’m still going to kick your ass for what you did.”
“I know. I know.” Gently, I brought my hand up and cupped her chin. A bit to my surprise, she didn’t pull away or swat away my hand. I leaned in closer, looking at her lip. It was busted open badly, with the clotting of the blood preventing the wound from bleeding further. “…What happened?”
“One of those assholes said some real racist shit to Ned,” she explained, her face twisting into a look of disgust. “I decked him – knocked him to the ground, too. But then another one hit me in the face with the butt of his rifle.”
I felt my chest start to vibrate as my heartbeat rose. I took in a breath, giving me just a moment of clarity before my anger took over. “…They’re going to pay for that.”
I stood up as MJ looked at me with a look of worry and surprise on her face. I then turned around and stalked away. I closed my eyes, letting my sixth sense take over.
“Six,” I said to myself.
I heard footsteps to my right. I opened my eyes looked in that direction, just in time to see one of the gunmen aim their gun at me. I shot a strand of webbing towards the rifle. Once it hit, I yanked the rifle out of their hands, caught it in midair, and broke it across my raised thigh. I then ran forward and smashed my forearm into their face, causing them to crumple to the ground. I looked down at the gunman, making sure I could hear a heartbeat. Once I heard it, I webbed him down before I walked away.
“Five.”
There were more footsteps. I looked forward to see two men running around the corner and towards me. I plucked a hardcover book of the shelf and tossed it straight at the head of the one on the right, beaning him. The one still running towards me reared back his hand. I saw the knife he held. I almost chuckled – he thought he was going to get a chance to use it. As soon as he was close enough, I reared my right foot back, sent it forward, and kicked him in between legs with so much force I actually lifted him up about one foot off of the ground. I withdrew my foot, letting him fall to the ground. I webbed him down.
“Four.”
I looked over at the guy I hit in the head with a book. He was slumped against a bookshelf, holding his head as he groaned. This was almost too easy. I shot two strands of webbing at the top of the bookshelf. Once they hit, I grabbed the ends of the strands and pulled, bringing the bookcase down on him.
“Three.”
I walked forward, stepping onto the bookcase and ignoring the students that were gawking at me. There were three gunmen left in the middle of the library. All three of them aimed their guns at me. I wasn’t the least bit concerned.
“I already took down three of you guys,” I informed them. “One of them has a fractured skull. Another one had both of his testicles shattered, and the last one is underneath a bookcase nursing a severe headache. As for your men outside, Shadowcat and Cyclops are throwing them a party. Normally this would be the part where I would say surrender, but one of you guys gun-butted a young lady.” I lifted my finger up and waved it back and forth. “Which one of you was it?”
One of them did speak up and proudly admit to it. I can’t bring myself to write what he referred to MJ and Ned as. All I knew was that it was enough for me to rush in, yank the rifle out of his hand, and smashed him in the face with it.
“Two,” I said grimly before I dropped the rifle and webbed the guy up.
I looked over at the last two men, who dropped their rifles and brought their hands up. I was about to just web them up when one of them spoke up.
“We’re not the bad guys here!” he yelled out.
I was actually momentarily given pause. “…I beg your pardon,” I uttered.
“We, are not, the bad guys, here! We only want the release of our esteemed leader, who was wrongfully convicted and incarcerated for crimes he didn’t commit. All he did was try to keep the human race pure from these unnatural mutant animals! They’re a danger to humanity!”
“Mhm, mhm, mhmmmm.” I took in a breath. “Have you ever heard the phrase ‘Black Lives Matter’?”
The man’s face twisted into a scowl. “Yes, I do. And I think - !”
He didn’t get that far into his response before I ran up and dropkicked him in the chest, sending him flying backward into a wall. Before he could slump down to the ground, I webbed him to the wall.
“I also believe that Mutant Lives Matter,” I stated. “Also… One.”
I looked at the last remaining guy. I walked up to him and placed my hand on his shoulder. “…You’re going to jail after this.” During this, I webbed his feet to the ground. “If I were you, I’d take this opportunity to rethink every belief you have held in your backwards brain. Because I’m pretty sure every decision you made based off of those beliefs led you right to me.” With that, I shoved him backward, sending him onto his back. I webbed his hands to the floor. I sighed before I looked all around me.
“…Zero.”

MAJOR BATTLES : THE BATTLE OF NEW YORK
word count : 834 words
trigger warnings : none
setting : may 4th, 2012 ( the avengers )
note : you are under no obligation to read these oneshots in order to rp with alice. they are simply backstory which i wrote prior to moving alice to tumblr and i’d like to have them available to read so my hard work didn’t go to wast.
this one shot belongs to me, it was written by me. do not reblog. do not repost elsewhere. alice gallagher, the delinquent task force and associated ocs belong to me.
Tumblr media
alarm bells blasted through the school. outside there were sirens as kids did exactly what they weren’t supposed to do. they rushed to the windows to see what was happening. a small blonde girl was among them, blonde curls framing her face. she stood from her desk and looked towards the manhattan skyline. in the distance, a green beam shot up from the distinctive stark tower, opening a hole in the clouds above.
“there’s stuff coming out of it!” one boy yelled, pressing his face nearer to the window’s glass.
raising her voice, the study hall proctor tried to usher the students out of the classroom and away from the windows. “come on guys, you need to get away from there! i don’t know what’s going on but we need to get the the gym.” it was clear she was just as confused as the students. the alarm ringing was that signifying a weather drill but besides the apparent blue beam shooting into the sky, the sky was beautifully clear.
alice took one more look, snapping a picture of the sky with her phone before managing to pull herself away. she grabbed her backpack and headphones from her desk, headed out of the classroom and towards the gym.
in the halls, the alarm still blared loudly, but the chatter of students wondering about the commotion in the city was louder. the hoards of students moved towards the gym, shuffling along. alice kept her head down, but she was listening.
“i heard that someone shot a missile into the sky.”
“don’t be stupid, kennedy, obviously iron man is involved.”
“yeah, he’s right. i heard from my sister that the city is basically getting evacuated.”
alice worried for her sister, she’d have to call her soon. hopefully, violet was still at home, not in the middle of this mess. whatever it was.
in the gym, the four grades were sorted into different corners where teachers tried to control the chaos and take roll. alice leaned against the padded wall and did her best to keep to herself.
she didn’t know how long they’d been there, at least an hour before her phone started to die and she was forced to listen to the unceasing whispers of the brooklyn public school. that was until someone dragged in an old, boxy tv and tuned it to the news station.
“midtown manhattan is being destroyed.” the panicked news woman spoke into the mic. in the distance, a building was on fire and something seemed to swim around the building. “the nypd is trying their best but reports are coming in that iron man, captain america and the hulk are all fighting the aliens for us.”
alice noticed that the room fell silent as everyone listened to the broadcast. she watched the distraction of the city she called home from her corner of the room, squinting to make out details. before her phone died she quickly texted her sister. ‘are you alright?’ she held the phone to her chest , unsure she was even breathing.
it felt like the whole school held their breath. they stayed there for hours as the war outside raged. they weren’t allowed to leave that gym. people fought for outlet space on the few power strips in the gym. some oddly calm students took naps. teachers often left the room in shifts to place the emergency calls home.
they were only allowed to leave after the battle ended. the sun had already set when parents, siblings and care takers came for the high schoolers. no one was allowed to walk home alone. if there was no guardian present you had to find a friend to go home with.
that night the news was filled with footage of leveled buildings, aliens rushing from a hole in the sky and the new heroes protecting earth from it all. the avengers, the saviors of the city and the planet. what did it all mean though?
it meant that people were homeless, jobless and that the earth was never safe. they faced threats now that came from off the planet. threats they could never imagine.
alice had never been so close to so much damage in all 17 years she’d been alive. when saw her sister outside the gym, she couldn’t help but hug her tighter than ever before. “vi- what are we gonna do?”
the elder blonde girl tightened her grip on her little sister. “i don’t know, allie, but i guess we should go home now. promise me though, if something like this ever happens again you’ll run. call me when you’re safe but run first, help the people that need it if you can.”
“you’re really starting to sound like a med student, sis.” alice leaned her head on her sister’s shoulder as they started the walk home.
“don’t be so judgmental. at least i’m doing something.”
“shush and let me be glad we both didn’t die today, okay.”
violet shook her head. “you’re so morbid.”

You’re Tony Stark’s actual intern but you’re also a badass…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Peter Parker x Male Reader (it’s just Peter having a crush on Reader)
Tony Stark x Male Intern!Reader (platonic)
Warnings: superhero violence
Summary: Being Tony Starks intern comes with a lot responsibilities including saving him, his fiancé, his best friends and his other intern… (Takes place after Civil War)
(A/N: Reader is based of Ms Bellum from The Powerpuff girls, so for fun readers last name is Bellum.)
——
”A+ student, President of your schools amnesty club, member of advanced technology club” Pepper Potts read out of the intern application.
She silently continued reading on and then read out loud ”Proficent in two styles of Kung Fu… Trained in Guerilla warfare?…” she looked at you slightly confused and you said ”I’ve also recently started taking Muay Thai classes”
”Not gonna lie that at some point will probably be useful around him” She then put down the paper and said ”Well, Mr Bellum, i gotta say this all looks very good, your hired”. You smiled at the strawberry blonde woman and said ”Thank you very much Ms Potts, i’m so grateful for this opputunity”.
Pepper then brought out a white folder about what you can expect to do as Tony Stark’s intern. ”Oh and don’t hesitate to be firm with him, he can be complicated” she advised. You nodded as you read through the small bits of advice she had put as a seperate page in the folder.
”Tomorrow Tony’s personal driver will come and pick you up his name his Harold Hogan, he will take you to Avengers compound where you will help Tony out with whatever he needs, is everything clear?”
”Yes, Ms Potts”
The next day…
You were waiting outside your school fully prepared for whatever Tony Stark could possibly throw your way. Then a car pulled up beside you and the window rolled down revealing a round faced man. ”Are you Y/n Bellum?” He asked.
”Yes, you must be Mr Hogan, nice to meet you” you answered and got into the backseat of the car, bringing out the folder Pepper had given you to look at some things.
When you looked up you realised Happy was pulling up to Midtown High, ”Why are we stopping here?” you asked. ”Were picking up Tony’s other intern” Happy answered simply, you then went back to your reading until the backseat door on the otherside opened revealing a boy who seemed to be around your age.
”Hey Happy” he said not noticing your presence at first but as soon as he did he stared for second. ”Hey… I’m Parker Peter- I-I mean Peter Parker” he introduced cutely. ”I’m Y/n Bellum, i’m Tony’s new intern” you held out a hand for him which he eagerly took and shook.
”Peter, close the door and put on your seat belt so we can leave” Happy told the boy. ”Right” Peter said who quickly stopped looking at you and did as the chauffeur told him.
You looked back down at folder but noticed that Peter had leaned over trying to read what was in it, but when he noticed thar you looked at him he quickly said ”Sorry didn’t mean to intrude”. ”No, it’s okay” you said.
It was silent for a while until Peter asked ”So if you don’t mind me asking but like what can you do?”. ”What specifically do you mean?” You asked slightly confused. ”Like what ”skills” do you have so that you got the internship?” he questioned. ”Would you like to see my résumé?” you asked hoping it would answer his question.
You gave him the paper and he started reading through it. ”Are you really trained in guerilla warfare?” he asked excitedly to which you nodded. ”That’s awsome” he stated. Making a small smile spread on your face.
”So your kind of like Black Widow?” Peter asked. ”What?” you asked confused. Happy then spoke up saying ”Peter, he’s the regular kind of intern, he will be working as Tony’s personal assistant”.
”Ohhhh…” Peter said and then looked at you and said ”Forget i said anything”. The conversation left you confused yet slightly entertained so you got back to reading the folder.
When you arrived at the Avengers Compound all three of you stepped out of the car and entered the compound. ”Where do you think Mr Stark would be at the moment?” you asked Peter. ”Probably his personal lab” Peter answered. ”Can you show me there?” you asked. ”Of course” he said and the two of you headed for Tony’s lab.
Peter and you arrived at the lab and Peter opened it for you. ”Hey kid” Tony said and then he spotted you and asked ”And who are you?”. ”Y/n Bellum, your new intern/personal assistant” you answered professionally.
”Since when?” Tony asked. ”Since your fiancé hired me” you explained. He exhaled and said ”Of course she did… well get the clipboard over there and take notes on the test results of the upgrades on Spider-man’s webshooters”.
”Yes, Mr Stark”
Two months later…
You and Happy were picking up cheeseburgers for everyone but as you returned to the compound something was differrent, all the lights off, the pin code lock to the enterance was totally fried, the door stood open and the security guards lay passed out on the floor.
”What happened here?” you questioned and bent down to check one of the guards pulses. ”Looks like there’s been a break in, Y/n listen to me go hide in that room there and i’ll go check on the others” Happy told you but you weren’t so sure of that.
”But what if they are still here? You might get hurt… or worse” you said. ”That’s a risk i must take” Happy said and started walking further into the building, leaving you alone at the enterance.
You waited there for about 20 minutes even though it felt longer as you were quite anxious, so you took a baton from one of the passed out security guards and headed for the Avengers living area. You made sure to be careful as you got closer listening for the sound of voices or footsteps.
You then heard someone from around the corner ”Boss, i’ve got Iron Man and War Machine but no sign of the Vision, i’ve caught some of their friends as well, Stark’s fiancé, some kid and Stark’s bodyguard”. It was a female voice but you then heard someone else speak ”Good job Diamondback, i want Stark and War Machine alive, you can kill the others” a male voice said. ”Yes, boss” the woman called Diamondback answered.
She then walked towards the Avengers living room, so you quietly followed. You then saw them, Pepper, Tony, Peter, Rhodey and Happy were all tied to chairs and passed out but they looked unhurt. ”Probably knock-out gas” you thought to yourself.
Diamondback walked up to Pepper and shook her awake. When Pepper woke she woke up Tony while saying ”Hey…Hey! Wake up i’m gonna make you watch while i kill your fiancé” Tony tried to talk her out of it saying he’d pay her millions if she didn’t do it.
But Diamondback could not be convinced so she got closer to Pepper holding a diamond shaped blade. But you would not let her hurt Pepper so you revealed yourself from your hiding place.
”Not so fast Diamondback” you said loudly to get the attention of the villainess. ”Oh what do we have here?” She asked in a amused voice. ”You think you can beat me when two superheroes could not? Never!!!” She asked mockingly.
”Oh yeah… Try me” you said challenging her. She threw a three diamond shaped blades which you just managed avoid and then you ran towards her. She brought out another blade but you threw the baton at her hand, which knocked the blade out of it.
You then raised your knuckle and punched but she blocked and grabbed your arm, she then tossed you over her shoulder and onto the floor. She then bent over you with another blade but before she clould do anything you kicked her in the stomach, which gave you enough time to get up.
The two of you continued throwing punches back and forward. Then she grabbed you again and threw you so you landed on the table infrot of the couch which broke as you landed on it. She gave away a small laugh thinking she had beat you.
So she turned her back to you to go back to Pepper, which was a mistake on her part. Because you ran towards her and tackled her out of the window. You weren’t on that high of a floor so the fall wouldn’t be lethal.
You and Diamondback landed on the grass outside with a thud and you could hear Pepper screaming worriedly from the inside of the compound ”Oh my god!”.
You stood up again meeting eye to eye with Diamondback who seemed to have gotten tired of you. She ran at you ready to savagely attack you, but you stood your ground and got ready for her. She threw her punch which you parried with your left arm and quickly countered with a swing from the right hitting her right in the face knocking her out.
You stood breathing heavy from the challenging battle when you saw the passed out security guards had woken up an came running to your aid. They handcuffed Diamondback and took her away.
You entered the compound again and picked up the cheseburgers from the enterance where you had left them. You then went back up to the Avengers living room where the others were.
You dropped of the cheseburgers in the kitchen and then entered living room. When Pepper and Tony saw you entering Pepper said ”Oh my god, Y/n we were so worried for you”. You picked up Diamondback’s blade which you knocked out of her hand and started cutting everyone lose. You cut loss Pepper first and then Tony who said ”You’re getting a raise and a promotion”.
When everyone had been cut loss and woken up Peter asked ”What happened to you?” and started fussing about the scratches on your clothing and the cut on your face. ”We can talk about it over dinner” you said and walked to the cheeseburgers in the kitchen.

Peter's Really Sweet (Andrew!Peter Parker x Fem!Reader)
A/N: little fluffy chapter coz I love a classic popular girl x nerdy boy story
Summary: You're the popular head cheerleader who has a little crush on Peter Parker, your lab partner.
Warnings: 2012 appropriate slang I guess haha
Wordcount: 1132
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Peter pins photos of the debate team on the Midtown Wall of Champions when all of a sudden a basketball hits his head. He knows exactly who the culprit is as he hears the obnoxious laughter. He doesn’t allow it to get to him as he just smiles. “Good morning, Flash.”
Flash and his posse walk past him. “Good morning, Parker,” he responds as he fake charges at Peter, causing the photographer to flinch.
Peter sighs and keeps on walking to class after he has finishes decorating the wall.
“Hey Peter!” Your voice rings throughout the corridor as he looks up from his slouched posture. You’re his lab partner and, contrary to popular belief you were smarter than the student body gave you credit for as he actually enjoys working with you.
“Hey, Y-Y/N,” he stumbles over your name, taken aback that you’re talking to him out of the blue. It’s not like you made a rule that he could never approach you, your paths just never crossed outside of classes.
“Are you okay? You look a little out of it?” you ask, noticing his disoriented behaviour.
“W-what? Yeah, I’m fine!” he smiles brightly at your concern. “H-how are you? How was your weekend?”
“Pretty good, Flash took me to Coney Island which was sweet.”
“Oh… oh yeah? That… that sounds great!” he tries to keep a light tone but any mention of Flash could sour any mood.
“Anyway,” you attempt to change the subject. “We should totally study for midterms together! AP chemistry is your strongest subject, after all.”
“Oh, please I’m nothing compared to you in bio and physics,” he teases.
“You’re too humble, Pete.”
He smiles fondly, no one else here calls him that but you. He should really snap out of this, seeing as your boyfriend is his nemesis. Does anyone even say that anymore?
Before he can give you an answer, the devil comes up behind you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “Talkin’ to my lady, Parker?” Flash asks. “You should probably go for someone within your league.”
You shrug off Flash’s arm in annoyance. “What did I say about being possessive?”
“I wasn’t, baby! I was just asking a question.” He kisses your cheek then looks at Peter as an intimidation tactic.
“I’ll see you in class, Pete!” You call out as Flash starts to walk you to cheer practise.
“I’ll see you later, baby,” Flash says, kissing your cheek and watching you enter the girls locker room.
“Good morning, you!” Your teammate, Betty greets.
“Hey,” you smile and place your backpack on a hook. “Anyone else here, yet?”
“Just waiting in the gym, captain.” You both enter the gym to see the other girls stretching.
“Okay, we don’t have long this practice so we should just have a run down of the routine and practise the pyramid and cradle catch.”
The girls agree and you all warm up.
“Saw you talking to Peter Parker,” one of the girls, Kelly, says to Sally.
“Oh, yeah I was asking him to photograph Josh’s car for his birthday.”
“Aren’t photographers pervs?” Kelly wonders aloud.
“No, babe that’s just a stereotype. Peter’s really sweet,” you interject. The girls look at you, confused.
“Since when do you know Peter Parker’s sweet?”
Betty laughs. “Since she’s had a lil crush on him.”
You gasp dramatically at the insinuation. “I do not!”
“Oh please! Peter Parker’s kinda nerd hot.” The others start to murmur in agreement and you roll your eyes. “Why are you even with Flash?” Betty asks, laughing. You throw one of your pompoms at her.
“Enough. Let’s just… practice.”
After practicing the cradle catches you hear commotion outside through the open window.
“Is there a fight?” Betty wonders.
You hear a voice that is unmistakably Peter’s as he calls Flash Eugene. Shit. You try to open the doors but Sally reminds you that opening them would trigger the fire alarm so you’re forced to take the long route.
As Peter retrieves his textbooks from his locker after fighting a couple viciously eating each other’s faces right against it he hears commotion outside.
He follows the noise and sees Flash holding Gordon upside down and dipping his face into a tray of food while a crowd has formed around, cheering.
“Hey, Parker. Get a picture of this, come on!” Flash yells.
Peter shakes his head. “No, I’m not gonna take a picture of it. Put him down, man. Gordon, don’t - don’t eat it.”
“Take the picture, Parker.”
“Put him down, Flash.”
“Take. The. Picture.”
“Put him down. Eugene!” Peter exclaims knowing the consequences.
Flash drops Gordon and goes after Peter and it doesn’t take long until he’s on the ground.
“Still not taking the picture!” Peter gasps in pain.
You make your way around the building to see Flash addressing the crowd.
“Who wants more? Huh?! Who wants -“
“Flash!” You yell, approaching him.
He turns around and stumbles as he sees you.
“Y/N, baby what are you-“
“No. Why don’t we get to class? We’ll talk later.”
“But…” you’re gazing into his soul with a fire behind your eyes, daring him to question you.
“Let’s go,” you say with finality.
He nods and starts to walk, you follow him but not before looking back at Peter who’s still groaning on the ground.
Betty hands you your backpack with a comforting smile but nothing can make you feel good right now. You say your thanks quietly and head into your room, not saying anything more to your boyfriend.
Taking a deep breath you sit at your table and pull out your notebook and pencil case, fidgeting with your pen as you think. Maybe you should have stayed with Peter… he could be seriously hurt. Maybe you should break up with Flash. He’s sweet but only to you, to everyone else… he’s kinda a douchebag.
You look towards the door to see Peter stagger into the room and make his way to his seat.
“I can’t believe you did that, Pete,” you say, looking him over.
“I…”
“What’s my name?” You ask.
“You don’t know your name?”
“No I know my name. But do you know my name?”
He frowns then smiles “Y/N. Y/N L/N,” he answers proudly.
You chuckle. “Okay, good sign.” You place a hand on his and look up at him. “I’d still go to the nurse, though,” you add.
He chuckles then winces, placing the hand that isn’t touching yours on his stomach.
“He really did a number on you,” you comment, regretfully.
Peter just shrugs. “I’ll be fine.”
Your professor walks in and you clear your throat, taking your hand back before giving his a slight squeeze.
“You know,” Peter starts. “We should probably arrange that study date."

Hope you liked it! Might make a part two if there's enough engagement <3

maybe a drabble about peter setting the reader and stephen up? spidey matchmaker?
Tumblr media
"Parker, are you listening?" you said, sharply.
Peter pulled his eyes away from his phone, flushing with mild embarrassment. "Yes," he assured. "Yes, absolutely."
You shook your head. Peter Parker truly was one of your best students, and you'd be lying if he said he also wasn't one of your favorites. He was nothing short of brilliant with the added bonus of not having an ego about it, unlike so many at Midtown. You had been happy to be his mentor when he entered high school. The problem came from him being so distracted. Once you had discovered he was Spider-Man, it made his absence from your classroom understandable, but there was a frustration in him not paying attention even when you had granted extra time with him after class to catch up.
"Excellent, so what is the answer?" you said, your gaze unwavering.
He squirmed in his seat. "Ah...twelve?"
You raised an eyebrow. "The chemical formula for nitric acid is twelve?"
"HNO₃," he corrected. "It's HNO₃."
He looked back down at his phone.
"Parker, if you can't be bothered to pay attention, perhaps we should reschedule for another time."
"No!" he said, quickly. "I am one-hundred percent paying attention. I wouldn't waste your time like that Ms. Y/N. I promise."
You let a sigh. He really was a sweet kid. You just wished he hadn't formed the habit of lying.
"Peter..."
Before you could finish, sparks formed in mid-air, just behind his head.
Your eyes widened as a circle formed growing bigger and bigger until finally a man walked through.
"Alright kid, what's the emergency."
You blinked, recognizing him.
Doctor Stephen Strange, the wizard who helped defeat Thanos.
Peter had told you about him and you had seen glimpses from various phone cameras taken of the events both before and after the blip. None of them did him any justice.
"Doctor Strange," Peter said, jumping to his feet. "Oh sorry, Ms. Y/N, this is Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange, this is Ms. Y/N, she's my chemistry teacher. The one I was telling you about."
You could feel heat rise in your cheeks, both from embarrassment at the idea of one of your students talking about you to outside of class and the very clear game he was playing.
Strange for his part, just seemed confused as he looked you up and down.
"Nice to meet you," he said. His gaze lingered, making your embarrassment only deepen. He really did have nice eyes.
A beep came from Peter's phone. "Oh crisis averted. Looks like it all worked itself out. Sorry for calling you, sir." He grabbed his backpack with lightning speed, heading towards the exit. "And sorry Ms. Y/N, my Aunt May need me home. Doctor Strange, there's a coffee place down the street, you should check out since you're here. You both should."
"Parker!"
"Kid!"
But it was no use, he was down the hall and out of sight before either of you could utter another word.
A long silence settled as both of you stared uselessly at the door and finally to each other.
"I'm sorry about--"
"I don't know why he--"
You stopped again, the pair of you laughing just a little. It was enough to settle your nerves a least.
"You first," he offered.
You ran a hand down your face, shaking your head. "I'm sorry he called you over here. Peter is a sweet boy, but he has a tendency not to always think things through."
"Partially my fault," Strange admitted. "I should have realized something was going to happen when he kept finding an excuse to mention his brilliant and apparently very single chemistry teacher."
You let out a long groan, burying your face in your hands. "Please tell me you're lying."
He shook his head. "No such luck. I will say he did down play just how pretty you actually are."
You looked up, somehow convincing your mouth not to fall open in shock.
Was he...flirting with you?
"Did he," you said, gaining back some of your dignity.
A side ways smile touched his lips and you felt your insides twist ever so pleasantly.
"Funny he didn't mention your relationship status," you said.
Strange shook his head. "Nothing really going on. Haven't really been looking, honestly."
You nodded, suppressing tiny sting of disappointment. "Well, I'm sorry for Peter to have wasted both of our times today."
"I didn't say that."
Your eyes narrowed in confusion. The arrogant air around Strange dampened as something like sheepishness crossed his face, softening his naturally sharp features. It was endearing.
"Do you want to grab that coffee?" he asked.
You had to laugh. "What, just like that?"
"Yeah," he said, as if surprised by his own question. "Just like that."
You opened you mouth, but finding you had nothing to say, closed it again. This was by far the strangest thing to have happened to you, but perhaps that was fitting.
"Okay," you said. "Let me just get my coat."
And just like that, you and Doctor Stephen Strange were walking down the street as if it were the most natural thing to do in the world. You'd talk to Peter about playing matchmaker tomorrow.

MAJOR NWH SPOILERS!!!!!
Summary: Peter has built a brick wall around himself, will he finally let you in?
Part 2: Never Letting You Go
Andrew: Peter
Tom: Young Peter
Tobey: Older Peter
You had known Peter for a long time. The two of you went to the same high school. You never really interacted then, but you would occasionally share a class with him, and see him skate down the hallway, just to be stopped by a teacher threatening to take his skateboard away.
You saw him fall in love with Gwen Stacy. They were a cute couple. The complimented each other well. You saw what had become of him after her passing. He seemed different. But of course, that was to be expected after the person you love dies.
The two of you never really interacted with each other until college. Much like in high school, you shared a couple of classes. You were assigned as each other’s lab partners in your Chemistry class. You cheered to yourself in your head. Peter was one of the brightest science students at Midtown, so surely this class would be a piece of cake with him by your side.
This caused the two of you to interact with each other more. He was nice, but he seemed a little off-putting. As if he was only nice because he had to be. It gave you the feeling that he didn’t actually want to be friends with you.
You know that surely you didn’t do anything wrong, you didn’t even really know the guy all that well. So one day, on the way to class, you decided a peace offering might be a good way to start to break down his walls.
You walked into class that day with two cups of coffee, and a small brown paper bag. You smiled to him as you sat down.
“Is today an extra-caffeine kind of day?” He asked with an eyebrow raised.
“No.” You said as you took your seat next to him. You placed one of the cups in front of him along with the brown paper bag.
“What is this?” He looked confused.
“It’s coffee and a muffin.” You tell him.
He picks up the cup, and raises it to his lips. You look at him expectantly, waiting for his reaction. He pulls away from the cup after taking a sip. His face scrunches up as he puts the cup down and reaches for the bag.
“What? It’s not good?” You ask.
He pulls the muffin out of the bag and takes a bite. “It’s really bitter. Good muffin though.” He says as a bit of crumbs fall to the corner of his mouth.
From that day on you had continuously brought Peter a different coffee every day. You were bound and determined to find his perfect cup. This coffee experiment did make him open up more to you. Conversation flowed smoother than it had before. The two of you would leave class together before parting ways for your next classes.
Everyday he would see you walk in with a new cup of coffee, and the same, reliable, blueberry muffin. And everyday it made him smile a little more.
“You know, one day, I’m gonna bring you coffee and a muffin.” He tells you.
You laugh “Yeah, sure.”
The coffee experiment had lasted longer than you thought it would. It had gotten to the point where you had already tried every possible flavor coffee Starbucks had to offer, so now you would just order him a black coffee, and add some sugar and cream yourself.
As you were getting closer to winter break, you decided that the experiment was just inconclusive. That Peter needed his coffee made in an extremely specific way, that you would never figure out.
“Okay, what if I take you to get coffee, and I get my perfect cup, so you can try it?” He asked one day, most likely tired of the endless stream of coffee you gave him.
You agreed, and he took you to a near empty coffee shop.
“Go sit, I’ll order.” He told you. He wanted his perfect cup to be a surprise.
He came back a few minutes later with two cups and a blueberry muffin. He handed you one of the cups and looked at you with his eyebrows raised.
You raised the cup to your lips to take a sip. You furrowed your eyebrows.
“What do you think?” He asked.
“It’s really sweet.” You take another sip before realization hits you. “Is this just hot chocolate?” You ask a little too loud.
The person working at the counter sends you a weird look. Peter can’t help but laugh.
“Yeah, yeah, my perfect cup is a cup of hot chocolate.” He takes a sip from his own cup, still keeping eye contact with you.
You kick his shin under the table. “How dare you not tell me that your perfect cup of coffee isn’t even coffee!” You whisper shout.
Ever since that day, hot chocolate and blueberry muffins had become a special thing between you. Hot chocolate and blueberry muffins had become the go to when one of you wasn’t feeling well emotionally. When either of you celebrated something, like good scores on the latest test, you would go to the coffee shop and get your new favorite drinks and snack.
As you became closer Peter had begun to worry about his other hobby. That one day you would find out he was Spiderman and would get dragged into his mess just like Gwen had been. You were the only person, other than May, who he was close to since Gwen passed, and he swore to himself that he would keep you completely separated from that part of his life.
You had started to wonder though, where did Peter disappear to when he left so suddenly? At first it seemed normal enough. He’d say something along the lines of “Aunt May needs me to pick up eggs from the store.”, you’d exchange your goodbyes, then he’d leave. But it happened pretty frequently, and Aunt May couldn’t possibly need to see her nephew that often.
One night, after a particularly bad run-in with a group of robbers, Peter felt more exhausted than he had in a long time. There were five of them and only one of him. Why robbers decided that a group of five was needed, he didn’t know. At first it seemed like an easy take-down. He’d stop them, web them to the wall, then go on his way. What he didn’t see coming was a web-block in one of his web shooters.
The men had caught him, and were throwing punches at him like crazy. He was able to knock one back and use the web shooter that was working on him. He was slowly able to get them one at a time. By the end of the fight he was covered in bruises, and could feel the blood dripping from his nose, and taste metal in his mouth.
He meant to swing back to his apartment, but instead found himself at your door. It was basically second nature for him to seek you out when he wasn’t feeling well. You’d bring him inside, usher him to your couch, put a pile of blankets on top of him, and cook him some soup.
He looked down, just to check that he’d remembered to change out of his suit, and raised his hand to knock on your door.
You woke up to the knocking. You rubbed your eyes as you got out of bed, and walked over to your door. You opened it to see Peter standing there, sporting a black eye, a bloody nose, and a busted lip. He gave you his signature awkward smile.
“Peter! What the hell happened?” You pulled him inside and onto your couch.
“I’m fine, really.” He said.
“No. No you’re not. I’m going to get my first aid kit, don’t move.”
He sat, patiently waiting for you to come back. When you did he noticed that you were wearing sweatpants and an old t-shirt.
“I’m sorry if I woke you up.” He said quietly, watching as your hands quickly opened the first aid kit.
“I was awake.” You lied. “What happened?”
Peter honestly hadn’t thought about what he would say when you asked him that. “I was mugged.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“Oh my god, did you call the police?” You ask as you dab around his mouth with a tissue.
“I didn’t get a good look at the guy.”
You sigh. The room is quiet as you finish with his face. You’d given him a bag of frozen peas to hold against his eye.
You can’t look away from him. It hurts to see him broken and banged up.
“You’re staring.” He says.
You scoot closer to him on the couch. “Let me see.” You take the bag of peas from his hand. He’s facing you, but avoiding eye contact, preferring the ceiling to your eyes.
You lift your hand to his cheek, you thumb brushing just under his eye. “It’ll definitely bruise, but you should be fine.”
“Thank you.” He says, finally meeting your eyes. He’s not just thanking you for tonight, he’s thanking you for being there for him every time you have.
“Of course. You can always come to me. Always.” You trail off.
His eyes glance down to your lips. You start to lean forward. Your noses brush against each other, before Peter turns his head away abruptly.
“I should go.” He says, quickly standing up and grabbing his backpack from the floor.
“Oh- okay.” You say, now flustered.
There’s an obvious awkward tension between the two of you now. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have tried to kiss you.” You said quickly.
“It’s fine.” He clears his throat. “I’ll see you tomorrow?” He asks when he gets to your door.
“Y- yeah.” You say, hoping to end this conversation as soon as possible.
With that he rushes out of your apartment to go back to his.
Encounters between the two of you had been a little awkward since then. There were less hot chocolate and muffin trips, and you really only talked at school.
You had taken over a better part of his brain. He knew that he was going to kiss you that night. He waned to, and he absolutely would have, if it wasn’t for Spiderman. He couldn’t fathom the thought of you going through what Gwen had, or of his heart breaking just like before.
He was thinking about you when he was pulled into a different New York. He spent some time walking around, trying to figure out what had happened when he came across where your coffee shop should’ve been. Well, a coffee shop was there, but it looked themed to the 50’s? More like a diner than the cozy little shop the two of you would sit in.
He swung up to the roof of the building to get a better look at the city. The lights looked somewhat brighter here than they did back home.
He turned when he heard someone shouting his name. There was a glowing gold portal, on the other side stood two teenagers.
“Peter! Peter!” They shouted to him, using their arms to wave him over. He walked to them and hopped in the portal before it shut behind him. He pulled his mask off and the two of them interrogated him, well, mostly the girl, urging him to prove that he was Peter Parker.
After having bread rolls thrown at him and being used to clean the ceiling, another portal opened. This one revealed an older man, who also claimed to be Peter Parker.
After becoming acquainted with the older Peter and the two teens, Ned and MJ, the group went to go find that universe’s Peter.
When Peter had found out that young Peter’s May had died he felt his heart break. He tried to tell him about Gwen, but young Peter didn’t want to hear about her.
Peter understood. If someone had tried to compare what he went through with Gwen moments after she’d passed, he wouldn’t have wanted to hear it either.
The group made a plan to help save those who had traveled from the other universes before traveling back to their own. Peter felt a little at home in the Midtown lab. He felt like he was back in Chemistry class with you.
He looked up from his mixture of chemicals to see young Peter and MJ sharing a moment together. Their foreheads were resting against each other and they both had their eyes closed. They looked content with each other’s presence.
“You got anyone?” The older Peter asked.
Peter’s mind flashed back to that night with you. He shook his head. “No. I don’t really have time for Peter stuff.” He said. “What about you?”
The older Peter smiled. “Yeah, a wife, and a daughter.”
Peter smiled at him. He was happy that at least two of them were happy.
Once they had all finished with their cures, the group made their way to the Statue of Liberty. This statue wasn’t holding a flame, instead a circular shield with a star in the middle.
The Peters had a few issues at the beginning when it came to sending out the cures, but were able to work together to get most of them out.
Peter turned to see Ned and MJ still on the scaffolding. Why were they still here? They were meant to hop through a portal, then Ned was supposed to close it. The Green Goblin was flying around, throwing bombs left and right.
One of his bombs landed near the two teens, and destroyed the scaffolding around them. Ned was able to grab a hold of a pipe and steady himself, but MJ Couldn’t grab it in time.
Peter saw her fall, and it felt like everything was happening in slow motion. It was like he was back there, that night. Like Gwen was falling all over again.
Young Peter had jumped to catch her the moment he saw her fall. He would catch her. He had to. He was so close, their fingertips brushed against each other, when the Green Goblin rode by and pushed young Peter away.
“No!” Peter shouted as he threw himself off the scaffolding. He reached out for MJ, not using his webs this time, and wrapped her in his arms as they fell. He landed on his feet holding her bridal style.
MJ looked extremely shaken up.
“Are you okay?” Peter asked her.
“Yeah.” She nodded. She took a good look at him. He looked sad, but relieved. “Are you?” She asked.
He had tears building up in his eyes. “Yeah.” He replied. He put her down and told her to find somewhere safe to get away from the fighting.
The fight didn’t last much longer. Young Peter was nearly close to killing Norman Osborn by the end, but older Peter stopped him.
When the wizard appeared again, he said he could send Peter and older Peter back to their own universes, he would just have to fix this one first.
MJ pulled Peter aside. “Thank you. For saving me.” She said.
Peter nodded. “You’re welcome. You guys shouldn’t have to go through what happened to me.” He said sadly.
Peter turned to walk away, but MJ spoke again. “Um, Gwen? I think she’d want you to be happy. At least, I know that’s what I’d want for my Peter.” She says, giving him a small smile.
Young Peter swung back down to talk to Peter and older Peter, he said that he was happy he got to meet the two of them. Peter said the other two were like the brothers he’d always wanted.
Young Peter said the he needed to go talk to MJ and Ned because the wizard was going to cast a spell that would make fix everything in this dimension, but would make everyone forget who he was.
It’s not long after young Peter leaves that Peter starts to feel fuzzy, and is pulled back into his own dimension.
He can’t believe he’s home again. He puts his mask back on and rushes to your apartment. After seeing the other two Peters, and his short conversation with MJ, Peter decided that maybe he should allow himself to be happy.
He was going to go to your apartment, confess his feelings, and tell you his big secret. He made sure to make a pit stop at your coffee shop for a hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin to bring you.
He wondered how long it had been since you’d seen him. Sure, he was only in the other dimension for about a day, but did time move differently here than it did there?
On the way to your apartment, he stopped at a tourist cart, full of I Love NY t-shirts and souvenirs, to purchase a shirt and some sweatpants so he could change out of his suit. Sure he was going to tell you he was Spiderman, but he didn’t need to show up at your door in the full getup.
When he reached your door, he couldn’t keep the grin off his face. He knocked three times and waited for you to answer.
It took a minute, but soon enough you opened the door. “Hi.” You said.
“Hey Y/N! Listen, I don’t know how long it’s been, but I’m sorry, and hey, I brought you a welcome back gift. Well, I guess I’m saying welcome back to myself? It’s a long story.” He rambles.
You lean against your door, and awkwardly laugh “I’m sorry, do I know you?”
