I still think the photos were either an absent minded accident to where no one can be really sure who made it (several people have had access to the archives and have sorted through it over presumable many years) or deliberately planted by Rashid for Daniel’s benefits to go through the files uninterrupted. Because I think it’s a better display of how Armand is operating here simply out of a complete disinterest to be supportive, accountable to anything, or understanding of what the aim of all this is, and his care for Louis only goes about as far as himself, especially where the threat of exposure or abandonment is concerned. In short he has a disdain for this entire interview, let alone Louis history and inner struggles with it, and for selfish reason, so the photos, regardless of how they got in there, expose him of this. It clues us in about how his love is conditional on meeting his expectations of it not ending or being threatening in some way, especially where his sense of security is concerned, but he’s extremely possessive of who he loves so manipulates as much as he can to prevent this, to a point, and in such ways, it is just emotionally abusive. Though we also do see a result of when he’s offered something else that his love can shift easily to someone else if they are simply offering him all this sense of security, so his possessiveness is conditioned on the fact he has no other better options of getting his strong desires for this kind of love met.

Anyway, if it’s an accident like that, and let’s say it’s one Armand happened to have made, it falls right in line with this even more, though I think the point is we actually can’t know if this is the case of it as even he doesn’t know who did it. Though if there were any care he’d probably not point fingers at Louis who is the one who’d be least likely to have made such a mistake, but he doesn’t care and is just mad about being blamed by Louis, so does carelessly throw it out there.

And if they served a purpose of allowing Daniel to access the files for an extended period, which he couldn’t do much earlier when Raglan initially sent them over without raising suspicions, one can make the assumption that Rashid, who we find out is working for the Talamasca, did it for Daniel’s benefit so he could do so undercover.

Aziraphale, when he learns how to use a phone, is going to be like those moms that follow their kids around with a camera and take pictures constantly even though you beg them to stop

His phone is filled with 80% shaky pictures of Crowley, 10% actually nice pictures of Crowley taken at random times in random places, 5% selfis that Crowley forces him to take and 5% photos of their ducks

"Angel?"

"Mhm?"

"Can you hand me your phone? I have no idea where I put mine. I thought I left it in the garden but-" Aziraphale puts the phone in his hand, ever without taking his eyes off his book. "Thanks."

There's a second of silence. Maybe two.

"Aziraphale, what in the Heavens? Is this me covered in bloody flour? When the fuck did you take this?"

"Ah!" Finally he takes his eyes off the book, taking off his glasses and smiling up at his companion. "When you were trying to make those éclaires last weekend. You looked very fetshing all focused and determined. I could not contain myself."

"Angel. The only reason why I know it's me it's because there's a blur of red in the white and black! You can't see shit! And you have like..." Crowley stops for a second, scrolling on the phone. "13 more photos exactly like this one!"

"Do I?" Aziraphale gets up and looks over the demon's shoulder, surreptitiously laying one of his hands on Crowley's hip. "Look, here." He scrolls a bit down and opens another picture. "Here you look just fine. Very handsome."

"Yes. Because I was the one holding the camera for us to take the picture at the café." He swipes right. "See? Again! The only reason you know this is me it's because it's a red and black blur! Do you have Parkinson or something? Why in the name of all thats unholy can you not stabilize the phone before snapping pictures?"

Aziraphale abruptly lets go of Crowley.

"I dunnot have Parkinson! I'm an angel! It is completely impossible for either of us to get any type of sickness!" He crosses his arms over his chest. "It is not my fault if the phone is large and my corporation has small hands."

"Oh!" Crowley turns around to face Aziraphale. "Oh oh oh!" And pokes him in the forehead. "I know those hands, angel. I've seen them holding something quite large last night and they were surely not shaking." The angel gasps. "Am I lying? Because I don't believe I'm lying. I would know if you were shaking, Aziraphale." He pokes him again. "Don't bullshit me with having tiny hands. Your hands are just fine."

Aziraphale rips the cellphone off Crowley's hands.

"I'm never taking another picture of you. Ever!"

Crowley snorts.

"Yeah. Let's see how long that lasts, shall we?"

It lasted 8 hours and 28 minutes. In Aziraphale's defense, it was not his fault. Crowley just looked so freaking adorable sleeping with his head on his lap! And yes, the photo was nothing but a blur.

I have audio processing difficulties, but I've been compensating for it for years, in my own way: I use subtitles when I watch things, I carefully watch people's mouths if they're talking to me in a crowded place, and I teach my kids to look at me when speaking.

I have the most trouble, actually, when there's white noise behind someone speaking, but crowded places in general give me trouble. I know it happened many times where I got someone's order wrong as a server because the din of the dining room made it hard to understand.

One thing I do is cup my right ear and ask people to repeat themselves - they think it's because I'm hard of hearing, but it's because the right ear is better for listening to information. (I read this in a book called 'Music, the Brain, and Ecstasy'. The left brain, which controls the right ear, processes math and such, while the right brain processes music. In untrained people they get more out of music via the left ear, but in a trained musician like myself, it flips to the right ear.)

Anyway I definitely notice that if I cup my left ear and listen to speech via that ear, it comes out like garbled nonsense, so I have a lot more success just processing it via the right ear when I need to.

If there's a motor running or a fan or something though, forget it.

Even without antivenom, most healthy adults bitten by pit vipers native to Appalachia will survive. The deadliest of the 3 species, the eastern diamondback has bite survival rates of 70-90% without antivenom. "Although envenomation by a rattlesnake (Crotalus species) may require antivenom and uncommonly surgery, a bite by a copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix) rarely requires any intervention other than observation. The unnecessary use of antivenom should be discouraged." -[2 real doctors who treat snake bites, published in JACS]

Snake-handlers' risk of death is even further lowered by various other factors such as acclimation to human handling or decrease or cease in venom production when unfed in captivity.

I love snake handling, as a religious practice.

Because while they can point at some Bible verses to justify it (a couple gospels use "snakes can't hurt you" as a metaphor for strength of belief, and they took it very litteraly) it's basically a modern invention. Like, the American Christian practice of snake handling is barely over a hundred years old! That's very young for a Christian practice.

It's younger than Mormons and Christian Scientist, and it's mostly limited to my area: the Appalachians.

It's basically just a regular Pentecostal service (which often involves laying of hands for healing, and my favorite Christian tradition, glossolalia!) except they add The Snake.

Like, you're at church, and there's the pews, and people are going up and Feeling The Spirit, and some of them are Picking Up The Snake.

That's alright, it's a harmless snake, right?

NOPE! They use venomous snakes. Usually American ones (your rattlesnakes and copperheads) but sometimes they import cobras and the like.

The venomous nature is the point. They believe that if they're blessed by God, they'll be able to handle the dangerous snakes without being hurt.

And given that this is a relatively rarely practiced thing, and it's connected to faith healing, you might think it's just a con. There's some traveling "holy man" with a well-trained snake that he can "miraculously" handle without being attacked, right?

Oh god no. It's a bunch of different guys and they get bitten all the time. Wikipedia has a list of 15 of 'em who died because of it, and that's just the "notable" ones.

People are allowed to just come up and touch the venomous snake! No training or safety equipment needed, just Jesus. Reportedly people who get bitten are not considered to be lacking in faith, just "it was their time to go". Like, they don't even call the hospital about anti-venom. You just die.

(Did I mention sometimes they drink poison too? Mainly strychnine, possibly because it's survivable in small doses. Same reason: their faith will protect them)

Anyway I really do love it. It's such an unusual thing to jam into Christianity, that I can't help but be mesmerized by it.

But it makes up the majority of 20th and 21st century American deaths from snakes. Most people avoid snakes so even the most deadly venomous snakes in America usually only ever kill by surprise, like someone reaches into a gopher hole and gets bit, or they accidentally bother one trying to piss in a bush. And even then, we've got anti-venoms! Lots of people bitten make it to the hospital and get treated.

So naturally the main group that ends up dying from snakes is the ones who are constantly handling deadly snakes and then refuse medical care.
