Normally, he’s the type of pony who would jump at the chance to give a debrief, but he’s strangely tight-lipped today…oh well! He’s also just told Snowheart to take an extra long lunch break extra early, so that’s not her concern anymore. He’s sure to tell the rest of the staff all about his meeting later anyway, right?

Patient: *cough cough* Ugh…Nurse? Is that you?

Snowheart: Yep, it’s me and your lunch! Sorry about the wait! I was making sure there wasn’t any cornmeal. I wanted to double check, after what happened last time…

Patient: Oh thank you! You’re the best.

Snowheart: Happy to help, dear. You enjoy your lunch!

Patient: …U-um, nurse Snowheart? How much longer until I can go home? I feel a lot better today…

Nurse Snowheart steps out of the patient’s room and into an empty hallway, her smile dropping from her face.

Greymare: Snowheart…you’ve been working full shifts every day this week.

Snowheart: Like you’re one to talk! None of us have seen you go home once this—

Greymare: Ah-ah-ah! Out of the two of us, you’ve been here for longer today. You’ll be no help dead on your hooves. Go take an hour for lunch.

Snowheart: Well, if you insist. I can’t say no to an early lunch…I’m still telling Redheart to make sure you get some sleep~

Nurse Snowheart begins walking away, calling the last sentence over her shoulder.

Greymare: Oh come now, that won’t be necessary—

Snowheart: That’s up to you!

Greymare: “Up to me”, huh?…

Doctor Greymare silently looks after Nurse Snowheart until she’s out of sight.

Greymare: …That would be nice. Enjoy your break…It might be the last one you take for a long time.

Doctor Greymare steps into another room, leaving the hallway empty. Moments later, the patient who Nurse Snowheart had been speaking with appears in the hall. Something is wrong.

Daisy Daedal: I like to joke with NU that it’s her fault. 

Having not had a coltfriend is easier to not worry about when your close friends don’t have them, and don’t seem to be looking either.

So it was kind of a shock when NU told us about Rasul. They met at an Arcade, and through gaming, slowly evolved from friends to lovers.

Up into that point I had imagined myself getting married “someday”, and had gotten crushes before- but hadn’t actually dated anypony.

But I saw Naturally being absolutely cherished by Rasul, and it made me ache to have that for myself.

Then, the Crystal Kingdom returned. Once everypony knew it was safe, it became a hot tourist spot.

I must admit that I was being silly- the idea that I hadn’t met my soulmate because they had been frozen in time for a thousand years seemed really romantic.

I hopped on a train as soon as I could, and when I arrived got swept up in all the Crystal Kingdom’s culture.

There were so many sparkly stallions there- but no one drew my eye in particular until I watched the jousting.

Crystal Knight seemed so gallant as he jousted his opponent. He was charismatic enough to get many of the audience to roar for his victory. 

I was awed, and I think I was among many of the mares in the crowd who was smitten.

I learned later that it was a habit of his to pick a pretty mare in the audience and give her a red rose, calling her his “inspiration”.

So I thought it actually meant something when he did this to me.

But being suddenly put in the spotlight with hundreds of ponies watching us terrified me, so I thanked him but ran away.

When I was finally calm enough to notice where I had run to, I was in the Crystal Courtyard of the Crystal Palace.

Ponies there stood in a long line- which I discovered was the line to meet the Princess of Love: Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.

“She can make ponies fall in love with each other!” The ponies in line murmured.

I didn’t know if this was true, but it made me curious enough to stay in line.

The Princess of Love seemed dismayed when I told her who I was interested in.

She explained to me that her magic didn’t make ponies fall in love- merely brought memories of a couples' adoring each other to the forefront of their minds.

It was not a spell that could work on a couple that had barely met.

She too knew of Crystal Knight- knew that he was more interested in the conquest of mares than in relationships. Told me of his tricks.

It made too much sense in retrospect. I felt disappointed.

Princess Cadence then asked me why I was in such a hurry to have a special somepony. When I told her of Naturally and Rasul, she was sympathetic.

“She met her special someone doing something she loved, right? So you must emulate her. Go places where creatures are also doing what you love to do, and eventually that pony will enter your path.”

Crystal Knight burst into the throne room at that moment looking flustered. His eyes met mine and I realized he was eyeing me like a prey animal.

“How fitting that my runaway maiden is with the Princess of Love! But you need not bespell me- you already have stolen my heart, Miss…?”

I was too nice in my response. I regret that now.

“Daisy Daedal. And I apologize, Mr. Knight. I admire your skill in jousting, but I’m not interested in you romantically.”

The Princess of Love let out a snort. Crystal Knight was put out, but I could see his mind calculating.

“You must be too shy to confess out here. That was my mistake. Please, let us go somewhere more quiet-”

“-The mare has spoken, Crystal Knight. Leave, or I shall have my guards escort you out.”

Crystal Knight glared at his Princess, who returned it with a frosty gaze.

He turned away, and left with a huff.

Cadence nodded at a pair of guards ponies who walked to my side.

“Please let these guards escort you to the train station when you’re ready. Crystal rarely takes no for an answer- it had to take a threat of banishment to get him to leave me alone, and I’m married.”

I nodded and thanked the Princess. The Crystal Kingdom didn’t seem as special as it once had been, and I went straight home.

I was a lot more cautious about dating after that- perhaps to my own detriment.

"I should broken that sod a little more...Shame that his twin sister interfered, along with so many others. Shame! You see, Stella... when the world don't like you, it gangs up on you. How unfair is that, huh?

"Pff. As if you'd accept any help anyway." Stella seemed to be getting somewhat used to the strange void creature. "I don't need its benefits. I can already take on practically anypony just fine. Usually. When not being limited." She paused. "Okay, so there's a lot of caveats..."

She shook her head at Night Shade. "Yeah, sure, to 'scare him.' You probably intended to do far more than that, but didn't for whatever reason. Surely, not out of the kindness of your probably nonexistent heart." She blinked. "Wait... If you have no heart... Like, not the physical one, the other kind. Wouldn't that make you a Nobody?" She kept herself from continuing that thought, as it would've turned into her trying to figure that out aloud.

"Well, at least he'll be alright..." She sighed, giving Shade a slightly annoyed look. Slightly. "Well, of course they interfered. No one actually wants to die, y'know. People that care about each other will protect each other."

She chuckled at the hypothetical. "Well... I suppose I could do as Shadow said, and 'fight like I always have'. It's not like they'll be willing to tackle somepony like me, who's done so much for everypony and held so much power."

Bungou Stray Dogs. My beloved, my beloathed and my ex who keeps walking back into my life for a makeout session after I swore I was done with it for the 11th time.

It is- not a good story, structure wise at least. I get raising stakes but also we started s1 with "we're frenemies with our local gang and we occasionally homoeroticly fight eachother" to *gestures vaguely at s5*

And that doesn't bother me too much tbh because I love media that cares about its audience and keeping things silly but also *ducks nuke*

The mangaka keeps having to write reasons for Chuuya to not show up and murder everypony, that's silly

Fyodor has a funny accent and a silly goofy hat and a greasy hairstyle and I guess he sometimes is smart. I guess.

Justice for my boy Karma who showed up in one episode and then Fyodor killed him for some reason, RIP my boy

the stakes one is so real because like. they did get higher after season 1 with the whole moby dick crashing event, but like it made sense it was fine also i liked that season. and then we got introduced to demon fyodor who apparently was even worse both described at the s2 finale and in the dead apple movie, so like, dude got hyped up massively. and then he got s3 to himself but actually its not over yet, it was actually a setup for s4-s5 and. I am asking. since fukuchi is over. and they seem to be making fyodor out to be even more threatening (every single villain is more threatening than the last. you know.) than fukuchi, the goddamn man with time travel sword, reality-altering page, vampire goons, trying to (virtually. his motives as well as execution of them are.... Peculiar to me) achieve mind control world domination....... like how do they plan to go worse than that. the problem with trying to have every single villain be more powerful than the last is that one day you just gonna run out of ideas and just write a literal undefeatable god. which is fukuchi and also fyodor but i am legitimately terrified of what they're gonna do with him in the later chapters. i am all caught up and....... its looking very exhausting already

as well as how like, in the earlier seasons we got these episodes that are just purely character driven with way lower stakes that just exist there to establish the cast, and they just. slowly stopped doing that. right now, from like season 4 up to where we are currently there has been literally ZERO breathing room for the plot, every single scene is just stressful high tension main plot main plot main plot fighting the HD/DOA and it actually made me too tense as i was watching like jesus fuck slow down. which is why i cheer and clap so much whenever i see poe also being there sometimes. thank you for your service king. as well as all the other more minor characters that appeared and nikolai getting to jest with people, as well as the Bram & Aya Adventures, regardless on whether it is "important" to the plot . and also sigma's whole introduction in the manga that just established him as an actually really nice guy that the anime just cut out to make room For The Current Main Plot auurrrrhghgh. shut up about fukuchi show me kyouka. hey where the fuck was kyouka for most of this even

A Character. that exists. and like, i like him, but also... i realized i'm only ever entertained by him whenever he's being silly, like with the whole mersault ball fyozai two man comedy show, or with his interactions with nikolai (who is one of the lights in the darkness of the current arc.... please keep being entertaining king). but like, i feel like the writer(s) drove themselves into a corner by making him so inhumanly intelligent, same with dazai. like. each of the serious interactions between him and dazai (the only nda member he's allowed to talk with apparently) just feel like two kids roleplaying "i slash u in the chest with my flaming sword and u are die!!!" "but before that I DODGED and hit u with my laser beam!!" "no but I moved out the way at last second and bring out the BOMBS and then i throw them at u and u explode and are dead for real!!!!" "no but then i miraculously survive steal ur flaming sword and set u on fire and u burn and die!!!" "but before i could die i put out the fire with my water bucket and then shoot u 100000 times and-" like. it was funny the first few times it happened but.... I get it. you have high IQ. A very self-indulgent base edit of my two most brightest OCs that I can recall, BabyBelle and Cringecore!! Honestly, these two seem so perfect for one another. One is a peppy mostly non-verbal autistic bear pony who loves to just mumble or ramble on about various topics to no end, and the other just likes to listen. Cringecore hates everypony but if anyone were to harm BabyBelle... There would be hell to pay. The thought of a scene core pony and a kidcore pony being besties fills my heart with glee because these two are kind of like personas for two very different parts of me and it feels nice to see them get along. Oh, and they BOTH are neurodivergent :)\
