#ask #non mdzs #My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl #So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume #but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice #and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. Unfortunately, during the recent war, I lost my laptop, which was essential for both my studies and work. I was forced to flee my home and relocate to southern Gaza due to the difficult circumstances. Despite my efforts to replace my laptop, the financial situation has made it impossible to afford a new one.

Without a laptop, continuing my studies or seeking job opportunities in programming and design has become extremely challenging. This directly affects my academic progress and future career.

#I'm so done with.one of my coworkers #(I'm prefacing this with the fact that I am a two year old teacher)#She comes in smelling like weed half the time #And she keeps talking non stop about things that aren't appropriate #And she doesn't get a lucnch break because she only works 4h shifts #(Tho legally she should be getting a 15 minute break she doesn't get)#So she ends up ordering doordash and eating it in the classroom #around the kids #Who can only have the food we provide them because we have a state funded food program #And when we got donuts today she asked me to grab her one when I went in to change someone's diaper #And one of the kids I brought in with me threw a tantrum cause she wanted a donut too and I can't give her one #I wasn't even getting myself one cause I didn't want to eat in front of the kids #I should have just let my co worker do the diaper and then get her own donut

man I can't even enjoy my last five days until I'm forcefully inducted into the programme I can't do. because I'm still sick and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm not well enough to do anything until right before I have to start it :(

#I found out they're gonna assume me as capable to do it until I get the results of the form saying I'm not #but I'm not sure if they even will grant it since I don't have enough information about what's wrong with me since #they haven't give me the chance for doctors to help me and find out :\#I may be forced into this and that's it and if I don't get out then life is going to become really fucking shitty with no end in sight #I'll be trapped and I can't even spend my last days free doing anything nice. Hello to all 0 of you!

Welcome my journal for my coding journey currently in a course learning Full-stack development. Although I have been putting off learning to code since dropping out of college before getting the computer science degree due to self esteem, learning drive, and overall doubting my abilities. I would try and fail and try and fail without really having a goal or a destination in mind other than to finish and get a job without actually knowing what I want to accomplish at the end of it.

I've lived some life at this point, realized I was not ready at the time and my journey is indeed beginning a little delayed and I am completely fine with that now. I am ready to fail, learn, keep trying, keep failing.

As the title of the blog suggests I am learning full-stack development, looking for help in anyway I can get it from time management, organization, note taking, coding resources, study resources. I paused yesterday to learn how to learn because I felt I needed to do some research into this. I am in the part where I feel lost but things still make sense on a smaller concept to concept basis but looking at compiling it all together to one cohesive piece has me feeling like I will miss a piece or not spend enough time on something I really need to know.

My name is Nick, I am 29, married, we have a golden retriever named Sansa, and I enjoy hiking, camping, traveling, new experiences, and relaxing when possible.

We got a new guy today and he was trying to set his password in our dinosaur system that was invented in like the sixties to make sure the POS machines could still process transactions in the event of nuclear war and he put in his new password and the computer froze for almost a minute, and then it said "not today." at the bottom of the screen and crashed the program.
