Okay but like…. What if instead of using mirrors they had to stuff this whole cast of people into a bus/van
It’d be a little funny
(Also turn up phone brightness to see it better. Or don’t. Idk I don’t control you)

Big dungeon meshi manga spoilers:
Kabru really spends the second half of the manga thinking he might have to kill Laios after what Mithrun told him. But he can’t bring himself to do it because despite every signal telling him that Laios would be corrupted by the dungeon’s powers he believes deep down that Laios is gonna do the right thing. Every time he sees him he tries so hard to tell him what’s going on because he really believes that if Laios knows the truth he’ll do the right thing.
Like… Kabru, who understands people so so well, is having an internal fight of his head telling him he needs to kill Laios because look at the signs, and his heart saying he can be convinced away because he knows he is good.
Kabru, who has been shown to kill people without a second thought when they are morally reprehensible, continuing to believe that Laios is good and should stay alive and believing in him.

Cody can make all kinds of food. All you need to do is give that man a recipe, and he'll fucking nail it. And it makes Obi-Wan picky as fuck because he keeps going to restaurants and all he can think is "Cody would've made this better."
Not only does he enjoy Cody's cooking, but he also enjoys watching him in the kitchen with an apron on that flaunts his waist.

The guide isn't gonna be done til I've gone through all the episodes the kid pirates are in to gather screenshots but i finished cleaning up the Oda sketches and combining them with all the info we have from the anime and I'm pretty happy with how they came out. These are all as best as I could figure out to scale for height (ordered by true height without big hair or hats)
Tumblr media
ALSO my personal headcanons for how the crew was split when it was still made up of four gangs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also yeah Oda said theres 31 members but we've only ever seen 25 and a handful of one frame generic henchman that may or may not have even been Kid Pirates so 🤷 room for OCs I guess lmao

headcanon that tim has a secret compartment in his staff that's incased in lead and inside is some kryptonite. just a little, just some shavings--not enough to do any real damage, just enough so that when kon is being annoying, tim can hit a button and the lead case will retract and kon will actually feel it when tim whacks him in the head.

Au where Balinor lives, banishes Kilgharrah, but then Merlin has to smuggle him out of Camelot and he goes back on the run because despite him saving everyone he's still a dragonlord and Uther is going to Uther. Before he leaves Merlin tells him to at least stop by Ealdor and see his mum cause she still loves him and deserves to at least know he's still alive. Balinor does go to Ealdor but a mix of needing to hide due to being a wanted man and nerves over seeing Hunith again ends up with him hiding in her garden trying to work up the courage to knock on her door. Hunith, hearing a ruckus outside her house, goes to investigate, and when she sees a suspicious man hiding out in her garden she starts whacking him with a broom. Balinor calls out for her to stop, telling her it's him, and when she does the two actually see each other for the first time in so many years. For a while, they just stare at each other until Balinor speaks in a stunned breathless voice "Dear gods, you're as beautiful as the day I left." Hunith blinks and it registers that she's not imagining things, he's really there. She blushes slightly then whackes him over the head with her broom again. "You disappear for over 2 decades and that's what you have to say to me?!"

Thinking a little bit about that one "I'm an English major and a professional as opposed to you amateurs" anon. Gonna roast 'em a little bit, but with the intention of addressing a thing we've had in mind for a while.
Real talk, coming from someone who WAS an English major; majoring in English is not necessarily a guarantee that someone is a good writer. For one, you can be bad at your major, full stop. For another, it's not even a guarantee that someone identifies as a writer to begin with. English as a major is pretty broad, and it covers reading too, among other things. There's library science, analytical academia, historical preservation & interpretation (MEDIEVAL MANUSCRIPTS HELL YES), editing, nonfiction trades (often crosses over with STEM majors), marketing (crosses over with business majors), and also book design and typography (<3 <3 <3 our favorite, crosses over with art majors).
Someone can major in English and take a specific minor with the goal of falling into a trade that is not writing literary fiction. In fact, we would argue that most people who get something useful out of their major are the ones that do that.
It's also worth noting that it's possible to be an English major focused on "lowbrow" fiction. There are people who major in English and use the experience towards the end of writing erotica. There are people who major in English with the intent to write genre fiction. There are people who major in English to study the history and social context of fanfiction.
These things are, in fact, worthy fields of study! The realm of the "amateur" is the realm where a lot of cultural conversations and innovations happen!
Expecting English as a major to be a tract specifically for producing acclaimed literary fictionists is not realistic, not how the discipline typically works, and it's certainly not a thing you can use to hold over other writers' heads. It is perfectly possible for people to write good things (professional-grade things even) without ever touching a college course.
I sat through so much bad writing in college. Technically bad, thematically bad, gramatically bad. And I routinely bump into non-graduate authors who write texts, formal and informal alike, that blow my own writing clean out of the water with their quality.
In short, dismissing other people in your general field as "amateurs" who are beneath you is an incredibly unprofessional thing to do.
