edit (10/23/2024) now that the poll is over: Original version, with 10 questions, from April 2023 here
And, given that the original is from April 2023, that means I can very easily say:
No, this was not an ISAT reference!
Just because I use parentheses and 2nd person pov and love the same concepts of what a time loop can do to a person doesn't mean it's ISAT
(Yes, I like ISAT, the original poll is why I was recommended the game! But if you look at the original, you can see all the origins of the options to choose from, including what spurred me on with the moss option from the replies)
If I were going to make something for ISAT, I would never be so vague, you can simply look at my ao3 for proof of that

hi! do you have some ideas for secret dating in friend group? 💟
Hi :)
Secret dating in friend group
Their friends decided that they want to get them together, not knowing they've already done it themselves.
Lying to your best friends is hard. Especially when they know you so well.
They both had different reasons for why they didn't want their friends to find out about them.
Being on a secret date when suddenly all their friends show up. They have to act fast to not get busted.
When asked by their friends, they straight up denied any romance between them.
To counteract their friends' suspicions they now act like they don't even like each other one bit. Not even as friends.
They have quite elaborate plans to keep their relationship a secret in their friend group, not knowing that everyone is well aware of it.
I hope you like them!

I'm going to laminate this image and carry it in my pocket to hand my fellow writers when they're being exclusionary:

you must understand how insane I sound when someone in the writers' group goes on a bigoted rant about fan fiction and I reply with, "Have you seen the movie Ratatouille?"

"Why do you care so much about accidentally leaving people out?" Because I've had friend groups where they were the planets and I was their Pluto.
I've had friend groups where our dynamics revolved around a Sun, with everyone vying for their attention if only to bask in their light for a mere moment. Where our thinly strung bonds collapsed the second our Sun left.
I've had friend groups where they bonded as Saturn's rings, finding solace in their shared shortcomings while isolating those more talented than them.
But I've also had friend groups where we bond as Neptune and Uranus—so similar we could be known as twins. Friend groups like Venus and Earth: so awfully different, yet it was those differences that kept us together.
And I would rather create a social system like the latter than the former.

I need a Merthur fic where Merlin accidentally becomed Modreds pseudo-mom and so Arthur becomes his dad and everyone thinks that Merlin legally adopted Modred and that Arthur and Merlin are an official Thing. Gaius ofc acts as sort of grandfather/great uncle. What's surprising is that UTHER acknowledges him and is slightly less rude with Merlin and Modred. Somehow Camelot catches wind of Uther basically claiming Mordred as his grandson, albeit begrudgingly. Mordred still calls Merlin Emrys but it's become more of a synonym for mom "cmon emryyyss I promise I won't be a bother!" "Arthur already said no and you really expect me to allow you to go after that stunt you pulled last week?" The knights and Morgana and Gwen all refer to Arthur and Merlin as mum and dad when talking to Mordred and he thinks it's in a joking way but they're completely serious because Merlin must have the adoption papers filled out and Arthur finally got his head out of his own arse. Surely with how Merlin mothers (smothers) Mordred and Arthur's over the top overprotectiveness.
Would Arthur be allowed to name Mordred his heir once he's King and married? Ehh. It gets passed through even if not a thing that's allowed.

Alright, so this is basically...an art dump for all the pics i drew when i was trying to draft the ending i wanted my Odile looping Au 'Like a Wheel Ever Turning' which...is not even SLIGHTLY how this fic is going to end now, but while figuring that out i still like draw all this and had to do SOMETHING with it.
So figured I'd post it and be like 'hey! fun Odile looping act 5 boss fight vibes not connected to anything else!' since like...that basic IS what they are at this point lol.
The one cool idea i loved that i think is now FIRMLY ditched is the act 5 boss fight starts when Odile uses wish craft to splinter herself into two halves.
Tumblr media
The 'old/current' her that is meant to be her coldly logical side, and a younger 'copy' version, which is meant to be the childish irrational side...that is what's stopping her just shutting down the time loop because she can't figure out how to be happy with her friends leaving.
Tumblr media
I mean, if you murder the part of you that WANTS the wish to come true, that's basically a 'get out of time loop free card' right? Right! Totally sound logic!
Tumblr media
Yes the 'young' version of her firmly believes that she's real, and also also got memories going up to about age 21, and also that she ought to be in Ka Bue not HERE among these french weirdos.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also yes again, a 'young' Odile is EXACTLY as unhinged about this as you'd expect a 21 year old to be upon finding out that apparently the 'real' her think murdering her is the correct solution to this problem!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The shift of the fight was meant to have the inverse 'colors' shift from one version to the other by the end, wrapping up with the point where the 'original' Odile is forced to have a heart to heart with the personification of her perceived 'worst' qualities.
Pretty sure the vibes for this ending was a lot more focused on the resolution of having deeply complex feeling about EXPRESSING emotion directly to other people. That along with a side helping of how isolating it is to be perceived as a 'real' adult such that you can't be weak enough to ask anyone for help. Because really if you can't even be that then why are you any different then when you were irritating mess of a youth?
Not saying any of that isn't still present in the story, but like...there is a LOT of other stuff going on, and those themes are now linked into many other ones too, and that's not even TOUCHING on how Loop's been...somewhat complicating my redrafting lol.
...Also I might have drawn/plotted this version before i knew about two-hats lol. THAT also is a factor.
Anyway! Still liked all of these enough to want to do SOMETHING with them, and figured this worked, so i could like map out my thoughts on them, even if i never got to write this.

Hi! Do you have any advice for switching pov in the middle of a scene without it feeling just...wrong?
Like, yeah, this scene will be in character A's point of view but in one particular moment of the scene B's perspective is also important. How could I do that swiftly, without confusing the readers?
Thanks xx
Hi, here's an excerpt from this post and another reference linked below:
Tips for Writing From Multiple Points of View
Switching between characters’ perspectives can be a great tool in novel writing, but it can also confuse your reader. Here are some tips from various writers:
Clearly define perspective shifts. Each time you change perspectives, make it abundantly clear to your reader. If your reader is busy trying to figure out which character’s head they’re in, they won’t be paying as much attention to what’s going on in the story. All that head-hopping can make your reader feel frustrated. You can make this clear to the reader by giving each character a distinct voice, repeating a character’s name, or having one character narrate from the present tense and another from the past tense. Another strategy is to give your perspective changes a regular pattern, so your reader can anticipate those shifts.
Give each character a unique perspective and voice. Each character should have something unique to contribute to the story that only they can share. You don’t necessarily have to change the point of view, but you should give your characters individualized personalities and opinions. If your characters all have the same voice, your reader will get confused about who is speaking. Plus, characters won’t seem as real or believable.
Beat sheets and outlines for multiple POVs. Use outlining tools if it works for you. Some writers find them helpful to keep track of the multiple characters, and even timelines.
Pay attention to point of view and tense. In nonlinear storytelling, it often makes sense to inhabit different perspectives by changing point of view and tense. Maybe the bulk of your story is written in the present tense from the first-person POV of your main character, while flashbacks are written in the past tense and in third-person. Or, you may want to include multiple points of view from different characters existing in different time periods. All of that is possible, but make sure you’re keeping track of point of view and tense changes to avoid confusing your reader. Avoid changing POV or tense in the middle of a scene, and consider making a chapter break every time you change point of view.

Choose which of these tips would work best for your story. Hope this helps!

i'm no film or visual arts expert but ☝️ one little detail i like in dead poets society is how often there are shots of todd looking up at neil. often in admiration, i'd assume--
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
--which is of course mirrored in the shot of neil looking up at todd after he does his poem;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also,
Tumblr media
looking up towards the sky after The Incident. what does this say? i don't know actually. but it feels like something. don't know what
not to mention when neil is finally on stage. everyone in the audience is looking up at him in that case, but i'd say it still makes sense?
they hjust admire each other so much i think. Ouuhg

I think the thing that feels the worst right now is the fear that this fandom will fade away like so many others once their shows stopped. I would’ve felt the same even if we’d gotten all three seasons. And don’t get me wrong, people are always gonna drift away and move on to other things, that’s just life (and it already happened after s1)
But I’m seeing so many writers and artists here and on twitter all like “the apocalypse couldn’t stop me from writing/drawing/talking about these pirates” and it’s like, I love all of you so damn much. I’m not very talkative and I don’t interact with people here much but I haven’t had this much fun in a fandom in years. I know we’re going to lose people, but I’ll be eternally grateful to everyone who was here and everyone who keeps this ship afloat 🏴‍☠️
