A little bit different than what I usually post, but here’s a few different posters i designed. As someone who is trans, it’s scary to me the way things are going in the united states. It’s important to remember that no matter what, we are not alone. There’s always more of us out there. Community is so, so important, whether that be online or in person. I will forever be sending out my love and support to the trans community. Have the courage to exist ❤️

Okay, but Dan saying how he said the iconic "embrace the void and have the courage to exist" in Existential Crisis because he thought it sounded nice, but you could clearly hear how he didn't really believe himself capable of it? And cutting him standing on stage of the we're all doomed tour near the very end saying that quote with so much sincerity in front of his audience just punched me so hard in the gut. He thought the words were nice strung together, something that would resonate with others (and it has!) but maybe it took a long time before it fully resonated wit himself. Before he was ready. He sounded ready now (brb off to cry again).

so dan has said this quote a few times over the years - in his vid ‘existential crisis’ as well as having merch with it on and also in wad to name a few

to me as someone who has struggled with my mental health my entire life (which turns out was undiagnosed autism! slay!) learning to live in my darkness and be unapologetically myself is the only way i have ever learnt happiness. embracing my cringe interests and stims and shutdowns instead of feeling like a freak for them has allowed me a new sense of self, i love these things about me. it’s taken time but it’s finally true

and having the courage to exist in a queer sense too - i have repressed my sexuality and tried to change my queerness to please other people and hiding who i am also has never led to happiness, so i will never allow myself to do that again

i have hundreds of tattoos and they are a catalogue of things i love and inside jokes and things i find pretty and that make me happy, and since i was 10 years old dnp have been there for me. that’s 12 years of figuring out my mental health and neurodivergence and queerness and transness that they have accompanied me for, and i am incredibly grateful for them <3

Seeing him say it in a less performative way on stage is wild. The fact that he has internalized those words enough now that he can say it comfortably shows his growth.

Its honestly really emotional for me as a fan because i used to be in a similar place of always trying to show people the hope in the world without feeling it for myself. But now i can honestly say that as hard as it is to find, i have indeed found it.

Also Dans new show made me cry a little too hard.

The Bats protect Gotham, but who protects the Bats?

The first time it happened, it was a mother at the end of her rope and there was nothing Batman could do to stop it.

Even if he broke every bone in his arm to escape, he would still have to wait for backup before being able to clear the kids. He could throw every protocol to the wind and it still wouldn’t have been enough. He told her how much time it would take for reinforcements, how long they had to hold out for. That was his mistake.

Because when their captors came back early he made himself their target. He fought, spit, said anything that would rile them. And it wasn’t enough. Because she put her hand on his arm and said, “protect my children,” before telling the men she would come willingly if they left The Bat alone.

They both knew that she was buying him time with her own life.

From there it happened rarely, but it never stopped happening. Random civilians would realize that it was either letting Batman die for them, or to die in his stead.

And the worst thing about Gotham was that the people knew how much they needed the vigilantes. How for every one person that died there were another 20, 50, 200 people who managed to be saved. Live long lives, or as long as any life ever got to be.

So for as willing as Batman is to die protecting people, those same people are willing to die for him if it will mean protecting their loved ones.

It wasn’t a burden Bruce had ever prepared to bear. And the first time a civilian stepped in front of one of his children, took a bullet in the neck that would have been a headshot, the relief almost ate him alive. The guilt certainly threatened to.

It was never a weight he wanted his children to carry.

seeing them come so far and do so many things has always made me proud but nothing has ever made me prouder that now theyre the happiest theyve been.

listening to dan's book made me have like eight revelations of life saving knowledge...

thank u for having us dan and phil, i would not be here without yall fr.... yall continue to show me i can continue to make it past the age of 10, i hope for all of us struggling too. we'll be happier than we've ever been, one day.

growing up with you has been a privilege

we've watched them grow up. that's one of the things that makes me the most emotional. we've seen them change hairstyles, make mistakes and learn from them, be successful radio hosts, go on tour multiple times. we've seen them discover new music, share new interests with us, trust us more and move to their forever home. they've achieved a lot professionally, but also personally. they've grown into (even more) inspiring people, they've become their best version, they are happier than ever. and the best part is that we have proof of it, and that we can go to their youtube channels and live it all again, learning something new every time we do it.

we've also grown up. most of us have become adults; we have degrees, jobs, or we don't have any of that but are learning to love ourselves and getting to know who we really are. we've made friends thanks to them, some of them are still here, others are still in our lives, but they don't watch them anymore. some people have even met the love of their lives through them. they have improved our lives greatly; they have changed it.

it's incredible everything that has happened these past 15 years... everything we (dnp and us) have achieved. i wonder if they think of us and our growth the same way we think of them. if they get emotional over what they have created around them. they're gardeners, and we're the flowers they've been growing for 15 years. i hope they think they have the prettiest garden, because i do.
