Nightfall headcanon! Do you know/believe in MBTI personality types? I do, but not to a T. If you do, what do you think willemmy's mbti would be? I feel like em would be INTP/INFP, and will would be ENFJ/ENFP. Like theyre mostly the complete opposite, but because they are both very curious people, they always aim for more, better, higher. One knowledge or trouble is not enough for people like them, they need to be in constant adventure. I think it suits them so much because even when they werent shown to be adventurous (action-wise) given the circumstances, when they do, it was always full of adrenaline. Not to mention, willemmy was CRAZY! They were literally going through so much shit, plus all those mind games in blackchurch from everyone, and they came out ok, and be like "yeah fun". I cannot imagine kaibanks having the same reaction with them honestly, lmaooo! Like would kaibanks have fun? Yea maybe, but would they be crackheads about it like willemmy? Nah. Even michaelrika would be crying over each other honestly. And damonwinter would be more protective and doting of each other. Idk, theres something crazy about willemmy that scratches a very specific part of my brain. Like they literally are THAT couple in the series thats ACTUALLY fucking unhinged. The other three are unhinged too, but were they on willemmy's level? No. Like if you noticed, Nightfall is considered boring to many, but thats the thing, if you read in a different pov, the story was unhinged from the start until the end. One trouble after another. It's a constant thing, not like Corrupt, Hideaway or Kill Switch where the troubles are two or three at most, and thats why Nightfall "Little Trouble" is just! So! Willemmy!

Unpopular opinion, readers when they enter Nightfall, are already so desentisized with unhinge things because of the past 3.5 books that they dont realised the more extreme and constant high stakes of Nightfall. For me, this element was what made dynamic good too, because they really like to cause trouble everywhere 🤣 for themselves, for each other and literally for everyone. No wonder their family wanna jump kick them (fondly) sometimes ahaha! I remember Michael being frustrated at Emmy during the chase and run with Martin at the end of the book because she took the time to daydream 😭🤣 and kai being frustrated with will too 🤣 and who fit in with willemmy well from the start again? Damon! Exactly, hahaha! And thats why i'll always think willemmy's the most unhinged, because all the characters have to think about their morals yada yada for years, but willemmy was like huh? That was only ONE trouble though? No big deal 😭☠️🤣 they onky took years to find courage for the other but whenit comes to chaos? No one had to instigate anything 🤣😂 ahahhaha the more i think about it, the funnier it gets. It's even funnier when emmy thought nothing abiut her fits in with them, when she LITERALLY was a little shit too (fondly) like the rest of her current family 🥹 Like Willemmy's the couples that made people like kai wanna choke them to death (lovingly ofc), michael want to bonk their sometimes, and damon wants to jump in the truck with, ahahaha. Little trouble really suits Emory so much because of this. When PD wrote about if Will didnt find trouble, trouble will find him 😂 No truer thoughts have been spoken!

Back to willemmy's MBTIs, Willemmy's minds and hearts are always churning too, for more and better things. Because of their N type function, they got each other in a more sincerely deep and complex relationship than others because casual or shallow things dont work for them in a long run. Like the things they talk about, their hobbies, passion, feelings about everything is deeper than just the surface, and they really need someone to share these kind of personality with. It's not because they were trying to be different either, they were just naturally curious people with big thirst and interest in mysteries or the nature of things. It's because their need to be and do more is like top priority. So people either dont bother to speak more to them because theyre not as interested as them in certain topics, they assume they cant handle it because of their introverted/extroverted qualities, or are just intimidated to talk them about certain things because theyre smart people or smth like that. These MBTIs can usually only genuinely connect and build a long fulfilling lasting relationship with others with the same function of them (N type) and I wasnt surprised at all when willemmy never found any deep curious connection with others even if they might have friends and families surrounding them for so long. This doesnt mean they felt unloved or anything, but rather, in things that they were very invested in (which are many), they might feel very lonely because they have no one who they can communicate with in super complex manner. The horsemen and cowgirls are friends and fanily with will, but he cant always nerd or geek out about everything that he likes, hates or wtf, to them because they might think he wasnt able to handle it, or because they cant keep up with the way he works out his feelings, logic and interests in general. Will is like thos people who's fucking deranged about something but his friends response to say, godzilla will be "haha, that was fun" and he'll be like? JUST fun? Why? Like he literally ate up challenges and curiosity like snacks yeah, and a lot of his conversation with his friends so far in the books were very surface level things even though he mentioned many times he craves for something more complex than that. Rather than putting a blame to anyone about how he feels, or the way others treated it, i think it's more accurate to say that he just needs to find someone who can fulfill this needs, outside of his friendship with his friends. Because what he differs from his friends or personality wasnt just the way they and he percieve each other, but rather a very personal need that he never really realised he needed, until he met emmy and took all those years in prison and after to sort what kind of relationship and person he want to be with to feel fulfilled in life. So then comes Emory Scott. Unhinged and curious, likes to argue, just as prideful, smart, creative, confident in her abilities, loyal and everything else that he loves about the her world and want to actively be apart of. Whatever thing that emmy lacks when it comes to processing complicated feelings, will balanced it. Whatever will lacked with critical thinking, emmy made up for it. They challenged each other and make each other feel so fulfilled and happy. (Imma cry for willemmy as i write this). Em was more lax in her work too, even she plans things, if she felt or thought she couldnt continue it, she just stops in the midst of some plans, and on the opposite, will was a bit random with his life, but when he got a plan, he really sticks to it. Willemmy is the most Perfect for each other. The end. Lmao.

I used to be really into MBTI types, and I think they’re a great place to start when trying to understand a character*. But I haven’t thought about it in years and haven’t considered what their types would be. I used to take online test and answer as I think the characters would and then check a few of the neighboring types to see if any fit really well. I might still do that now...

I agree that Em would be more on the I-T side and Will E-F, but the other functions in the stack are hard to figure out.

However, you’ve got me thinking! Em is so incredibly curious. With people who have such serve trauma, it’s impossible to tell what traits are natural to them and what traits they developed to survive. I wonder if Em would have always been as logical and hard if she didn’t need to quickly develop those traits to combat Martin.

Would she lean more towards playful, as we kind of see her behave at the Cove on Homecoming, or even in Blackchurch at times?

Or was that just those circumstance that allowed her to let go for a short time, and she would have always developed this tendency towards logic over emotions?

It’s hard to tell, because she’s so jealous over the other kid’s freedom, but at the same time, she attributes her desire to stand out in areas like band, swim, and academics as just apart of who she is without outside influence of Martin and his abuse. She’s competitive by nature, and a lot of time, competitive people fall within the Thinking function.

Will and Em compliment each other really well, as you pointed out! On the surface, they seem like the opposites attract trope, but in they’re not really opposites. They’re nerds on different ends of the spectrum.

For example, I spent some time thinking about their love of movies. I didn’t catch it my first few times reading, but Will’s family owns the theater. At first, I thought Will just saw her go in, followed her, and that’s how he knew about Godzilla. He also knows that she likes movies, so he could have been staking out one of her favorite haunts. But what if he was already there, in the projection room?

When he takes her to the theater, he calls someone to open the open the doors for him. At first, I thought “Will’s connected. This is just a guy he knows.” But then I realized he says his parents took away his keys.

Because the Grayson’s own the theater. (admittedly a head canon, but still it works so well!)

Which seems like such a random thing for them to own. Later in NF, he says that his mother made him sit with her through a Doris Day marathon. Like…I love my mom, but I wouldn’t sit with her through an entire marathon of Doris Day. Which leads me to believe...the Grayson’s love movies. Or at least his mom does (which also new head canon:…maybe his dad bought his mom the movie theater because she loves movies and it was gift. And maybe Will loves monster movies so that’s why they have monster movie marathons during October…like this family is so ‘we love each other and we love this town so everyone benefits’. Now I think the Grayson's are adorable.).

When Emory is sprouting off facts about 80s action movies, Will isn’t a silent onlooker, in awe of her knowledge. He actively participates in that conversation.

Rather than putting a blame to anyone about how he feels, or the way others treated it, i think it's more accurate to say that he just needs to find someone who can fulfill this needs, outside of his friendship with his friends.

Yeah, maybe Emory geeks out over old stuff, antiques and architecture, or even movies and books. But Will has his stuff that geeks out over too. Like really geeks out – rambles on and on, has done 2am research, can drop random trivia, etc. Like you said, he’s just not surrounded by people who get it, so he keeps it to himself.

Here's a list of things I think Will would geek out over:

Theme/adventure parks. Will is the type to have a rollercoaster bucket list. He’d want to take a summer to drive the country and hit as many as he could.

Exploring and abandoned places. Especially if they're rumored to be haunted. He loves mysteries and mayhem.

He loves traditions. His being able to tell the Reverie Cross story from memory speaks to how much he studied it. I doubt any of the boys wanted to listen to him go on and on about it after a while but he was so invested in the town lore. He started a new tradition in Fire Night, and it seemed like he was very enthused and serious about visiting Edward's grave.

Which brings me to the next thing: He loves Thunder Bay. He probably knows that town history forwards and back. When Em goes on about a specific architecture design and its history and why it was used and why it should be preserved, Will listens intently and hypes her up, not only because she’s his girl, but because this is so interesting. He is genuinely interested in what she has to say, even when she's rambling.

I don’t think anyone in the group geeks out over this kind of stuff like the two of them. I can definitely see how the stuff that Will gets excited over being deemed ‘immature’ by Michael and Kai. Like you said, it doesn’t mean they don’t love him, just that they’re not getting that side of him. I always thought the way Michael indulged Will in Corrupt was very telling of their bond. While Kai said ‘no’ immediately because he understood the repercussion, legally but mainly emotionally for Will, Michael knew that it was something he needed. And when Rika asked, he said Will “loves the girl who built it.” Not ‘loved’ not ‘had a crush.’ Loves. They boys do a lot to understand each other, but they’re not at all the same.

Will and Em are curious and eager to learn and uncover mysteries. They don’t want to stay in the same place for too long. They don’t let the fear of ‘trouble’ stop them from discovering new things. Em went with her gut feeling to discover the Carfax room. Will found Coldfield on his own because of the mystery and because it served a purpose. Meanwhile, Kai only wanted at The Pope when he had a reason for it. Michael found St. Killain’s and stayed there forever, literally making it his home.

These two little history nerds, action movie buffs, explorers and adventurers would never stop moving. At least not for long. Will traveled the world before going to Blackchruch because he craves new experiences, and he was hoping something would spark an interest for him. And the second he gets Emory in a safe place, his first thought is “Do you wanna travel and see things? Where do you wanna go? Some place old? Some place wild? Everywhere? Do you wanna go everywhere???? ‘Cause I wanna take you everywhere.”

They’re so cute. And crazy. Probably the most eager to explore anything, followed by Damon (and Alex. I think fire night or the epilogue specifically says she is the ‘adventurer’ but whatever 😒 Is there anything Alex isn't, according to PD?). Emmy does fit in with the group as a whole, but she had to accept that side of herself first and stop judging other people for ‘having fun.’

These two balance each other so well! I will never stop loving that about them.

PD tends to use the same devices over again in this series, just with new faces and names. It’s all the same but different. The things that were ‘unhinged’ in NF were in the other books too, it was just slightly altered. So there really wasn’t anything new in terms of the couples interactions and they dynamics at play. Even if it was posed as different, it wasn’t really. I can understand why people felt tired/bored of that, even if they couldn't identify why exactly it felt that way.

NF was unique because there was no down time between major events. There also was no build-up (if you're like me and read NF without reading Conclave first). We were dropped straight in the middle of the plot; Will’s been MIA for over a year, we know practically nothing about Emory, and we have a completely new cast. It's a closed location, forced proximity, and dubious characters and the action never stops. The Blackchurch timeline is like 5 days. And it did raise the stakes. With the others, at least by the 50% mark, we knew basically who the our heroes were going to be in the end. NF did leave Aydin up in the air until the last second. I don't have positive feelings for Evans as the last antagonist, or Aydin at all, so the stakes fell flat for me at the end.

My main issue with NF has always been we traded characters who we were eager to see how they interacted with Will and especially Emory, with characters we don’t know and therefore didn't care about at first. I can’t tell you how much more I want to know how Emory would interact with the rest of the cast in normal circumstances. Not when people are angry, not when they’re preparing for a wedding, just…like the rest of the books, I wanted everyday stuff and I never got it. And unlike a lot of the fandom, I never came to care about Aydin, Micah, or Rory. Maybe I would have if we had more time, but I felt exhausted by the whole thing.

I mean, I definitely feel that of all the couples, Willemmy fit together the most? The things that kept them apart were out of their control, but when they are around each other, there's a clear connection. They can overcome anything if they're working together. Sometimes if feels like the other couples, especially Michael and Rika, work against each other, or look for ways to undermine or hide things from each other. I never got the impression that Willemmy would do that after they were married.

Little trouble really suits Emory so much because of this. When PD wrote about if Will didnt find trouble, trouble will find him

okay okay so enfp-t is pretty accurate for ellis. though how it applies definitely depends on where in his timeline you catch him. bcs before origins or bg3 yes! check, check, check!!! he is interested in keeping others' spirits up, he loves being the life of the party whether or not he's having a good time, he loves supporting the people around him in the only way he knows how.

but actually getting into it??? he's a bit more Spicy than that. he lashes out often bcs he doesn't always know how to handle things & makes that everyone else's problem. like in theory i think it fits pretty well but there are also a few things tht don't quite line up. i think it's also PARTIALLY bcs he is so self-contradictory a lot of the time. bcs again, in theory he likes supporting the people he cares about. in practice? it's hard for him to care enough to offer that support. i am just thinking, more on this later.

i think it makes sense for him to be considered an extrovert, though it's definitely the most turbulent part of this ( it was extrovert 56% vs. a 44% introvert ) which like,, makes sense to me bcs he bounces back & forth between wanting to be around people. he loves being around his people, the ones he trusts, but struggles really hard w being perceived by others??? which sort of makes sense as to why he would want to be like a social pillar bcs then he matters enough to stay relevant.

but also he often feels like the people he meets in super social settings don't get the whole him & it leaves him with an intense sense of imposter syndrome. this also has got to do w all the stories surrounding he & his sister but tht is a conversation for another day

the intuitive ( 93% ) bit makes total sense to me. ellis has always been creative. his whole schtick in any verse is that he grows up idolizing stories & the possibilities within them, fictional or not. he's always drawn & written & kept a journal. he does often need to talk out ideas for them to become real instead of like, looking at them objectively??? so that makes sense.

he is always bouncing possibilities around in his brain & can be intensely stubborn when he settles on one, whether or not said idea is rooted in logic. he's never been particularly practical & generally follows his heart

which leads me to feeling ( 82% ) again, ellis usually leads with his heart & with the people he cares about in mind. he doesn't always look at the larger picture when it comes to this & usually tunnels in on the people he Actually gives a fuck about instead of worrying abt juggling everyone's feelings ( in fact, he has a heavy track record OF hurting people's feelings bcs if you aren't an important person to him he doesn't feel that same drive to give a fuck & even if he DOES care he leads w his heart so if he PERCIEVES rejection / something tht hurts his feelings he will do the fucking same 2 u )

but like. man has always lead with his heart, he is a bleeding heart & can't hide it. which can be a very good thing or a very bad thing. even when he has good intentions sometimes hurt feelings overshadow that & it's probably too easy to hurt his feelings. he tends to take things super personally, whether or not they're meant to be & again will lash out about it. he acts on his impulses a lot of the time because of that & puts logic & morality aside in favor of following whatever path his heart tells him to follow.

as for the prospecting (64%) part of it??? i think uhhh. sort of makes sense. like he can be very stubborn when it comes to outside influences but internally, he's always playing with ideas. he absolutely can be enthusiastic when he has an idea he wants to pursue but it depends on the context.

but what makes me scratch my head here is that he also likes a bit of structure from internal & external sources. man is an emotion driven man & it can be exauhsting. so he likes things to be a certain way. i'm not saying this to be uwu quirky but he does deal with ocd & when there isn't a lot of structure it can drag him into very raw episodes in his mind. like there are certain aspects of his life that he likes to remain controlled & structured, but it's like. very complicated & probably deserves a post in itself

then the turbulent ( 100%) makes total sense. man is constantly stressed out & second guessing himself. man is driven by stress. he's never going to be good enough within his own mind & it's a huuuge part of why he's so hard on himself. it's this duality of knowing he used to want to be good & knowing tht he doesn't care anymore, knowing tht he is a hero but knowing he would end the world if it meant he could find peace, wanting to survive but thinking engaging in the Horrors are the only way to do that. like it makes sense for his turbulent be at 100% bcs he goes back & forth between going ' i hate myself ' & ' but you don't get to hate me motherfucker ' & ' but u probably do ' & ' i love myself & that's enough ' & ' i hate myself '... ect.

This is pretty much confirmed he’s Asian + Latino but he’s definitely Japanese/Mexican to me. He’s so SoCal coded it’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m thinking like…he lived close to the border or is from San Francisco or LA and has a lot of family in SoCal.

As far as MBTI goes I’m saying he’s an ESFP/ENFP and as far as Zodiac goes I’m saying Gemini or Cancer.

In his formative years he had a “dank memes” phase. Like, middle/high school Daisuke was a total dork. He was a kid lucky enough to be diagnosed w adhd when he was younger so he was on meds and did EXCEPTIONAL in school. Lived off the praise of teachers. He was especially good at science and math. (Which is why his parents encouraged him to get a mechanic internship).

^adding to this he has adhd + depression (the depression is more of a byproduct of the ADHD tho) and he takes meds!! he probably takes stimmies so he’s personally really concerned about his heart health.

HE HAD AN UGLY DUCKLY PHASE. Glasses + braces king. And he was awkward asf. But he slowly grew into himself and his style. He still has insecurities though and doesn’t think he’s that attractive bc of it.

I don’t think he made it past community college or gen Ed courses though. (He has HELLA test anxiety and despite being smart he sucks hard at ACT/SAT). In college he felt really isolated and it was hard for him to get out there so. He kinda shut down.

To me he’s around 23-25 years old. Old enough to where the pressure to “do something with his life” and figure shit out is hitting hard. But also like, still at an age where you’re first figuring shit out. He’s really insecure about this. Not because he’s stupid or anything he just has NO idea what to do w his life and can’t figure it out.

He had/has a part-time gig at a local art store he absolutely adores. Sukuna is downright CRUEL. The interest he has in his darling is not affectionate in the least.

I’ve said it before, but Sukuna will actively treat his darling as though you are his Pet. A means of entertainment, to praise and worship him alone.

He’s aware the love he has for his darling isn’t traditional love; Sukuna is aware that his obsession is toxic, and does not even consider it past that. He does not care whatsoever.

You do not need to like him in any way; if he has his claws in on you, it’s over. You could hate him and it would only make him chuckle. “Go on, tell me how deeply you despise me.”

I can’t see him being lenient with his darling; unless he begins losing interest; and wanting to see how you would try to defy him, had he allow you just a little bit of freedom.

He may “accidentally” forget to leave your collar unfastened, and the front door unlocked. He would love to stalk you and watch you try and cleverly escape him. You’re smart enough not to go to the police, but Jujutsu Tech instead. It’s too bad that as soon as you utter even a word to the first sorcerer you see, they are quickly snapped into a neat pile of meat cubes before you.

Oh how he loves to watch you cry, retch and scream in despair. He loves how easy it is to break you, again and again and again. He laughs so joyously when you hit him and run. Sukuna loves chasing you slowly, as you become short on breath.

(MBTI headcanon cont.) I think your observation of Will's family's interest is super spot on, because guess what? Misha from Punk 57 has very similar personality with Em. He's a geek! Movies, things, music etc. i guess it really does run in the family. I remember Ryen always making fun of him about it. And yeah i agree about your take about Nightfall in general about the side characters drama and present interaction of willemmy too.

Also i think i dont elaborate the last part of willemmy's characteristics of "finishing doing something" really well. Thats my description that were related to their P and J types. Em would have a lot of things she wants to do, and prioritise what needs to be done, but if she completely lost interest, she wouldnt bat an eye to them anymore. (The more i think abiut it, the more she sounds like INTP). As long as its done, its done. But will, the J guy, coupled with curious mind, wouldnt have a linear timeline to his growth compared to everyone else beside him, but everytime he was shown an interest and want something, he sticks to it until the end, doesnt matter how painful or less worth it seems to anyone. He's a giver and caretaker, having this passion of loving others. Big heart guy. Yeah, ENFJ really suits him.

Adding to my two MBTI asks before and ohmygod!!! Architects are usually INTJ! Theyre usually the adventurous type too. I guess my observation from before about emmy being a P is rather more closely related to her individual personality being a P and her P nature in her most volatile personal decisions in general rather than being a J. But i can see why she would be an INTx with interchanging P or J type. And Misha is will's cousin from Punk57, forgot to mention this. And im so sorry for the spoiler if you havent read punk57 🙏🥺 And I agree about Alex, but I'm not sure myself what Alex's MBTI would be other than E and F because we werent really given much insights to her thoughts. We only see her through other characters' povs and Alex was known to be highly adaptable too so idk its because of her personality, her job, her circumstances etc. yk. But she IS adventurous, and i think thats partly why Aydin can get along with Emmy in a way, and Em with Alex, and Alex with Em, and them with Will. Because Im sure Micah's characterisation was really different than these 4, right? But i think Alex is more F than T though. Idk haha, cant say much about side characters that werent given much characterisation through their povs tbh. As for whether or not Emmy's MBTI was the product of her circumstances, that too, idk. I dont think much would change honestly. She was always a girl who loves to have fun and be adventurous, but nowhere was mentioned before that she thrives off of communication with others as much as Will. We were only told that she had no worries in the world when she was little, but no mention of with whom. So it can safe to say, she could be an E or still an I. I remember this because I noticed, she didnt have friends, not only because: she was scared that she was going to be in an abusive relationship, her brother would hurt them, the teenagers around her came from different backgrounds from her, they want different things than her at the same stage of life, so it was harder for her to relate to them, but also because she genuinely enjoy and feels recharged when she's just doing things alone. She wants to have friends, but it wasnt the utmost priority like Will or Alex. And when she wants to connect with others, she cant do casual relationships because it wasnt enough for her. As an E, thats why Will couldnt understand, but when you look at Emmys interactions, outside of what was already happening between her brother, her schoolmates and the town, she was just like that, and she loves it. She did needed a friend, but not the ones that are too invasive. So when it comes to the I E type, I dont think it would change much like her P and J functions. Her P and J functions were heavily influenced by her emotional state. And theyre turbulent. When it comes to her T function, maybe in her volatile or outburst of feeling, she couldve been an F. But that too didnt make much sense, because she was shown to actually LIKE to think, rather than just feel because p feelings didnt always give her the most thrill. We saw her having fun when she felt something intense, but there were a lot of thinking that accompanies those feelings. Even when she waned to fuck alex, or get will out of the jail, or dig out the cemetery, she was already making so much thinking in her head, and she had fun knowing the consequences or mysteries behind it. So safe to say, even when she goes over the edge, she CAN feel the most like Will, but unlike Will, that might just not be her dominant function.

Haha. Yeah…in all of my excitement to talk about willemmy, I went way off topic huh? I completely forgot to connect it all back to MBTI. My bad.

(I have read Punk 57, so I’m familiar with Misha, and that all tracks.)

Don’t worry. It’s not you. I’m just overly dense sometimes. I might have unconsciously avoided it. As much as I read up on MBTI, my understanding has always been very surface level and understanding the individual functions and how they work in the stack is confusing for me, and at this point, I’m very rusty.  My explanations will be clunky, but I’ll try my best.

Architects are usually INTJ! Theyre usually the adventurous type too.

Starting off with Emory’s types, at first, I was leaning towards ISTJ, but I do see where you’re coming from with INTJ. I’m still struggling with her dominate function. Mainly because it is so difficult to tell what is the result of her abuse and what comes natural to her.

Em would have a lot of things she wants to do, and prioritise what needs to be done, but if she completely lost interest, she wouldnt bat an eye to them anymore.

When you say she would stop working on something once she lost interest, I would have to disagree with you. I see Emory as someone who follows through to complete what she’s started. I would point to her finishing the gazebo, even though she wasn’t interested in it anymore. I believe she quits things when her depression gets the best of her. She quit swimming because of the bruises, but she quit band only after her final fight with Will. I don’t remember if she gave a clear reason, or if her excuse was that she wouldn’t be getting a scholarship for it. However, I firmly believe she just couldn’t sit in the stands and watch his games anymore. She was angry and depressed, and that's what caused her to temporarily give up on things. Otherwise, even if she wasn’t going to get scholarships for swim or band, she would have completed them for the sake of it. I do believe she’s a “finish what you start” type of person.

To me, all of these traits match Emory pretty well. When looking at the differences between the traits, I would lean more towards INTJ. I think she has a dominate Ni. I do agree that Emory would have been an introvert either way.

As for Will, I’m still up in the air about whether he’s got a dominate Se or Ne function, though I’m leaning towards Se. Just based on surface level, I see him as an ESFP. Though I can definitely see why you’re leaning towards ENFJ.

I haven’t even begun to consider any of the other characters, but Alex is an extrovert, but whether she’s Te or Fe dominate, I’m not sure. Way out of my depth.

I wish I could go into more detail and actually narrow it down to a type for all the characters. I think that would be a fun project!

Do you think Valentino from Hazbin is a sociopath?

I would like to preface all my posts on headcanons related to psychology and mental illness with a disclaimer: diagnosing mental conditions, especially personality disorders, can be extremely challenging. It's a complicated process that relies heavily on a psychologist's interpretation of facts, making it susceptible to biases. Personality disorders cannot be diagnosed based on surface-level observations and are not just labels that we can assign to people like in the case of MBTI. Additionally, I am not a clinician with any expertise in diagnosing people. Therefore, the following post should not be taken as a reliable professional opinion. It's simply my interpretation of the internal mechanisms that may be responsible for the behavior of certain characters in my fan fiction. Furthermore, I want to make it clear that I have no intention of stigmatizing people with personality disorders by associating them with villains. A personality disorder does not determine someone's character or make them a bad person. Some characters may be evil because of the choices they make, not as a result of their mental conditions.

I don't think he has an antisocial personality disorder. I can categorize him as a man with borderline personality disorder with antisocial tendencies (generally men with BPD are quite likely to exhibit APD traits).

Why do I interpret his behavior as BPD:

❤️ mood swings and incoherent personality. Like he's a completely different person with Vox and with Angel. Duh, even during his one scene with Vox his whole attitude did 180° in seconds.

❤️ hardcore abandonment issues. It makes him act out to get Vox's attention. And he hates Angel so much not because of pure sadism, but because he used to love him (well, at least he interpreted his feelings as love). As he became more and more toxic and after Angel finally tried to stand up for himself, Valentino felt so terribly rejected and betrayed that he immediately started hating him.

❤️ there's this thing called splitting and it means that people with BPD perceive others very binary, as either good or bad. There's nothing between love and hate and those emotions can change rapidly. So yeah imo he occasionally "loves" Angel and that's why he hasn't killed him yet but at the same time he proceeds to abuse him so terribly (I can't buy the "you make me money" excuse, no amount of money would matter if he really wanted to kill him. And I don't believe he keeps him alive just to torture him, Angel's behavior causes him too much stress. Like, he cares so much.).

❤️ Things common for men with BPD are substance abuse (overlord of drugs, duh), aggressive behaviors, and violent tendencies (I don't think I need to provide you with an example)

❤️ General high novelty seeking. It essentially means looking for stimuli to feel anything and just fill horrifying emotional emptiness (in the case of BPD; novelty-seeking is also a trait of perfectly healthy people that differs individually). I connect this novelty-seeking thing to him being an overlord of depravity, he loves perversion for the sake of perversion because everything extreme he does or witnesses makes him feel things again. And he bores very quickly so he has to constantly push boundaries further.

❤️ Autodestructive tendencies. We don't see them in the text, I just assume they are there. Again - drugs, unsafe sex, and (according to my headcanons) involvement in violent and irresponsible "BDSM" (I put it in a quotation because BDSM to be BDSM must be safe and based on informed consent, trust and good communication) which is essentially using Vox' sadism to inflict harm on himself. He rather do it using someone else's hands because he perceives this desire to self-harm as a weakness but at the same time, can't resist it.
