Experimenting with work-skins on AO3 day 1.

Boy, did I spend way more hours on this than I meant to considering I have actual deadlines to meet.

Textures as backgrounds was a game-changer ngl (really it's just a background-image: url("link") !important) - credit to La_Temperanza on AO3, check out her tutorial on formatting letters and stationary here!

However, I so wish that AO3 allowed fonts. Not because web-safe fonts are bad, but there's so few. Just using the cursive (as seen in Joel's letter) might accidentally translate to a goofy ass front on microsoft devices. So a few more options, or the option to embed fonts one day would be *chefs kiss*

I have no idea when or if I'll use the Sibyl's Diner check, or F's computer (rewriting, I'm thinking of different ways of opening the story. I don't like the current one lol) but I just think they're neat so they get to stay.

Coding is like, surprisingly easy. Did I have a few hiccups with the texture urls? yes. But did I win in the end? Yes.

I have now blasted your retinas with an ungodly amount of light, you're welcome. Anyways, this is the latest iteration of my portfolio... still haven't gotten around to actually coding it though. I'm thinking I should probably code my website in WordPress to be safe(r). Knowing me I'd probably unintentionally attract at least one person that will attempt an SQL injection or something. Speaking of which, I got sidetracked and now I'm learning about basic cybersecurity over at TryHackMe.

Day 11:

Hi guys!!!!

Yesterday I managed to finish correcting all the observations made by the tech leader, and they approved my Pull Request wiiiiiiiiiiii! Since I had some time, as I had completed my tickets, I decided to throw a lifeline to my colleague who was struggling to fetch an endpoint from the backend. After several hours and a lot of coffee, we were able to finish all the code. Today, I'll be assisting him with integration tests. I'm proud not only to learn new things but also to be able to help others.

If there's time, I'll try to finish the practice CRUD I'm working on to learn Nest

common/basic html tags

<p> (closing </p>): creates a paragraph

<h1> (closing </h1>): creates a heading. this tag is used for the biggest headings in the page (example: a general, all encompassing title)

<h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> (closing </h2> </h3> </h4> </h5>): these four tags also create headings, each smaller than the next. h2 is bigger than h3 and so on (example: h2 can be used for a chapter title, and h3 for the title of each section of that chapter)

<h6> (closing </h6>): creates a heading. this tag is used for the smallest headings in the page

<strong> (closing </strong>): makes the text stronger, usually bolding it. this tag goes inside other tags, like <p> (example: <p>normal text <strong>bold text</strong> normal text</p>)

<em> (closing </em>): emphasizes the text, usually italicizing it. this tag goes inside other tags (example: <p>normal text <em>emphasized text</em> normal text</p>)

<a href="example"> (closing </a>): creates a clickable link. the link / path goes inside the quotes in the opening tag (in place of the word example that i put there for reference). the text you want to be able to click which directs to the link goes between the tags (example: <a href="link">text to be clicked</a>)

<br> (no closing tag): creates a line break inside a paragraph (since line breaks in the code are ignored). in other words, it sends the text after it to the next line, without creating a new paragraph, instead of having it stay in the same line as the text before it until it no longer fits

that was a lot but it's the basics i swear. also all these tags are used inside/between the <body></body> tags (explained in my "absolute basics" post which i will not link to right now sorry). that's it

Today was a decently normal Monday. My teachers informed me today that I might be getting an essay I completed a while ago and getting my science test results back soon.

After school, I tried to start the home page of the website I'm currently building Project.Spider and I would like to say that thanks to the help of Bing AI, ChatGPT and Visual Studio Code, I could finish one part.
