I read a post a while ago talking about how a lot of "dead wife man" characters would be improved if the wife divorced the husband rather than died and i cannot get over how Disco Elysium is a perfect example of how true that is. If Dora died rather than leaving Harry so much of the story would've been so much less impactful, especially the Working Class Corpse quest.
Even ignoring how sexist that trope is, exploring the relationship between two people who were genuinely in love and then separated gives so much more room for messy and complicated feelings!!! No dead wife flashback will ever hit as hard as being able to call your ex wife and realizing that not only is she doing fine without you she's actually doing BETTER because you separated. The feelings of inadequacy!!! The abandonment issues!!! It's all *chefs kiss* i love it. Disco Elysium does so much perfectly but this is one of my favorites.

Help a college student graduate by answering a survey!!
Hey!! Are you over 18 and in the miraculous fandom? Then this is for you!!
Hi everyone, this is my last semester of uni, and one of my final projects to be able to graduate is to write a scientific paper. I'm writing an article about adult fans of children's animation, specifically Miraculous Ladybug. My goal is to understand what makes adults (like us) want to join fandoms centered around shows aimed primarily at children, and to do that I'd love to hear directly from the source! The survey takes around 10 minutes to answer, it's 100% anonymous and it would help me immensely!
I need at least 30 people to answer, but honestly the more the merrier! I've also made a little thank you gif at the end, so if you see it let me know! If you have any questions feel free to send me an ask, as well!
Please reblog so it can reach more people! Thank you so much!

I always feel so out of place even in system communities. Does anyone else relate at all??
Like, idk some system memes are cool and relatable bc obviously not everything is gonna line up, but so much of it doesn't click with us.
We've almost never been put off by the voices, we all wanna communicate, we don't think less of each other or think 1 deserves more front time than anyone else, etc. Idk, there's so many memes about denial and eating each other's food and all this distress. Which is i know, a major part of many system's lives. Part of what makes a meme is the repeatability and a lot of systemhood IS struggles in that area.
But what about systems who do everything right (in the sense that we have healthy coping and such)? What about systems who unconditionally love each other and dissociative barriers are something we work around instead of fighting? What about the systems who love the voices?

saw the worst opinion that "making fankids for minor pairs is gross because youre fantisizing them having sex" and i literally cannot be the only one who thinks that is really stupid
cause like. a lot of people making fankids. are kids, who just want to make a future for two characters they like, which are probably ALSO kid characetrs because, theyre kids themselves. i know i did that all the time with mlp, although it wa smostly wiht the mane six
AND the other people making fankids are doing it to explore what a design would be like, and even still when i make fankids now i am NOT fucking thinking about that, and i promise you nobody is
