where. reader is the new daycare assistant or a mechanic or smthn idk theyre working withh Sun and Moon thats the important part

i think it works better if theyre like, Sun n Moon's handler? Bc they r closer that way and it makes it more fucked up lmaooooo

so basically. this takes place right after Sun n Moon had their best friend-handler person leave bc Sun n Moon had been acting increasingly volatile n buggy n rlly just having issues but the more the previous handler tried to talk to them abt it and fix it the more they got anxious abt getting decommissioned and would cover up the problems n act like nothing was wrong

and eventually one day the previous handler nearly got rlly hurt and knew they had to leave bc it wasn't safe for them and they left a detailed warning/report for the mechanics

(and they didnt say goodbye, not out of malice or anything just bc they didnt want even more reasons for Sun n Moon to act up/potentially hurt them or themselves)

so. the mechanics did a total clean up of Sun n Moon's system, basically left their memories but scrubbed their data of a lot of the 'feelings' they'd had- mostly wiping away the feelings tied to 'good' memories, and the only thing Sun n Moon could do to fill in the void of 'feelings' was assign different feelings in their place, so when they once looked back and felt happy or nostalgic, now they feel confused and angry and sad and betrayed bc why was all of that happiness taken from them?? why did their handler hurt them like this??

so the scrubbing of their systems, which was one thing they really really didn't want to have done for fear of losing their memories entirely, DID work in putting their issues on a much lower level,, but it didn't get rid of the issues entirely. Now they're just,, easier to hide or play off or ignore. They're careful around the kids, of course, but they do at times have trouble with their motor controls or their speech will glitch slightly, etc

a few handlers come and go, never staying for more than a week or so- none of them really care about the job, don't see Sun n Moon as coworkers but more like fancy 'machines' with no real thoughts or emotions, they normally leave after Sun or Moon has a glitchy moment and nearly hurts them or, in at least one case, does hurt them by squeezing their wrist too hard. more often than not, the ppl applying for the position read the list of warnings n cautions and are like 'hell nahh' and bail immediately

then. in comes,, reader. local dumbass. most endearing of idiots. a bit dense. very much clueless. dearly beloved

you're the first one to really treat them like your coworkers, making small talk and being friendly and kind and patient and laughing at their jokes. you smile when you introduce yourself, offering your hand for them to shake- not afraid of them or their little twitches at all. god, how they missed that. you remind them of their previous handler, if only in how you see them like theyre people and not machines.

and they make a mutual agreement to do whatever they can to keep you as their handler. even if it means dodging around company rules and policies by doing something like crumpling up the confidential 'warning' forms, ortelling the occasional white lie, like forging your signature onto the papers when your back is turned and making sure it makes it to your manager without either of you noticing who exactly was putting it on their desk.

you've already started calling them your friends the first time they have a glitchy moment. you're doing detailing work on their endoskeleton, really just cleaning dust away and making sure everything looks the way it does in the manual, when they break something- a tablet, a pen, your phone, whatever it is, it happens in an instant and startles you.

when Sun n Moon come to and realize whats happened theyre terrified. what if you use this as some kind of excuse to leave? What if you abandon them, just like their previous handler did? What if you start treating them differently, or you tell the staff that they need to be scrapped

so when you ask what that was about, they're frantic, quick to come up with something, anything that might make you shrug and forget all about it,

"Well, you WERE just working on their insides, right? That must have been something YOU did to suddenly make us do something like THAT! There's no way else it could have happened. Right?"

You take the lie hook, line, and sinker, apologizing profusely, promising to try harder to make sure nothing like that happens again. The relief they feel is almost euphoric. They pat you on the head kindly, reassuring you that they know you didn't do it on purpose, it was just a little mess up! You're fine, friend, we forgive you.

From then on, they dodge blame and truth alike, most often redirecting your attention to something you must have said or done to make something so strange and out of character for them happen so suddenly, and you believe them, full of apologies and careful words and actions and nervous worrying about doing things wrong and hurting them somehow. It's cute, how anxious you can get. It's cuter, how you melt for their comfort and reassurance. 

They play the song and dance with you again and again, weaving doubt and guilt into you more and more frequently. Until one day, you mumble something about how 'maybe i'm not cut out for this, maybe i should switch to be on the janitorial team instead, or some other department, i don't want to hurt you guys, or-or be the reason someone else gets hurt, i clearly dont know what im doing, and it's only gotten worse, maybe i should talk to my manager,,' and they panic

don't be silly, friend!!!! you can't just leave like that, what about the kids, what about that puppet show you had helped them plan, did you really want to just abandon all that?? so what if maybe they had the occasional hiccup, you were always there to smooth it over, who cared whether they dropped things from time to time, or- or broke a toy or two, that didn't matter, did it??? You were getting so good at being their handler, your little mistakes were normal, come on, you don't want to leave your very best friends. Do you?

and you cave, agreeing to stay, and they are so, so extremely careful to hide their little moments from you for several weeks, making sure you don't notice their tiny twitches or split seconds of glitchy voices, maybe keeping a closer eye on you than would be comfortable, watching over your shoulder each time you type up a report about the day, giving the manager a loathsome glower behind your back whenever they happen by,, and every time you leave you say 'i'll see you guys tomorrow!,' they grab onto your sleeve and respond with 'promise?' so you always know that they really, really do want you to come back

and then. one day,, you decide to go looking in their files for something small and silly, like what kinds of updates had been added to their pick-up protocols, and you find the warnings and cautions forms

and you see your signature on them, but you would definitely remember this and you are absolutely certain you have never seen these papers in your life. and you take the papers and you go to ask them about it.

"i thought you said you never had any problems before? you told me you never had any issues before but this- this is full of things that you- and you, you've been having these problems for that long??"

they stumble over their words, frantic, panicked, backpedaling on everything theyve ever said, trying meekly to grab the papers from your hands, piling excuses on excuses 

"you knew? you knew you were having these problems, and you didn't tell me? and you- you told me it was my fault!"

you're close to tears, hurt that they lied more than anything. you keep backing away from them, dodging their attempts to get the forms. they don't know which is worse- seeing that look on your face, or when they were left without so much as a goodbye.

"you could have told me. i thought i was the reason for everything, i thought i was hurting you, and you just... you lied right to my face and let me think that."

theyre putting on their best soothing voice, movements slow and gentle, wanting to comfort you and wipe those tears away and reassure you somehow that this- this isn't their fault, none of it is, it never was, they're fine and you're fine and nothing was ever wrong, and everything will be fine if only you calm down and stay

you can tell they arent really listening. you take a deep breath and turn away from them, scraping the tears from your face. you tell them you're going to go home and write up a report about all of this and when you come back you can go over it together before you send it to management, but right now you're leaving because you need space to breathe and time to think

but all they hear is that you're leaving, and they panic.

they don't hurt you, of course! but right now you're not allowed to leave.

you try to shut out the sound of them crying and apologizing and begging, even if it breaks your heart, because right now all you want to do is go home and lie in your stupid bed and have a stupid cry in your favorite pajamas. but you try every door you can think of- none of them open. you've sstayed past closing more than once, but the doors aren't normally shuttered for another two hours,, and you're pretty sure the night guard isn't even here yet

the entire time you're walking around the 'plex, Moon is trailing sadly behind you, waiting with the saddest, most pathetic wet cat look an animatronic can achieve, for you to turn and face them again

and thus begins what is probably the longest night of your life, spent trying to avoid your animatronic friends/coworkers who are acting like the worlds clingiest ex who just got broken up with and who can't stop dropping sad love songs in ur dms

by the time morning rolls around, they agree to actually go to parts n services and cooperate and try their best to get whatever is wrong with them repaired, even if it means they might get decomissioned. in the mean time, you promise to come back once they're fixed and work with them to help them get back to their old selves- or at least, back to how they were before any potentially dangerous bugs

basically this is the 'sun and moon have abandonment issues and gaslight you abt it' au

Do you have any plans for Moth Flight in your au? I always felt like she had a lot of potential, but her super edition…. Oh it’s bad. God forbid a disabled, young, single mom try to raise children and have a job at the same time. Too bad there was no one to help her when things got stressful, like you know, her clanmates… No women should have a job and children at the same time ever again.

If it wasn’t obvious that was sarcasm, Moth Flight’s story has awful implications. But! In BB Clerics Not being allowed to have kits wasn’t a law until the Ripple Era, it used to just be a personal vow and was a bit taboo. So I’m interested in of Moth Flight still had something to do with the creation of the vow itself? And just in general if you have any plans to fix her story or if you’re just throwing the whole thing out. (Which would be completely understandable.) I just think there IS potential there in her story, especially in BB where the Clerics Vow is actually ACKNOWLEDGED to not make sense and be bad. It could be interesting for the idea to rise from such a hyper specific, awful situation. The Clans having altered her story so much over the years that it went from the truth, “the first Cleric was a young, single mother of four, trying to raise her children while morning her husband and convincing the other Clans that they needed Clerics. The odds were against her.” To the perfect, Cleric’s Vow supporting lie, “the first Cleric had kits. She was unable to balance raising them and caring for her Clanmates. She taught the Clans a valuable lesson, a Clerics first and only duty should be healing and worshiping StarClan. Kits only get in the way of that duty.”

Idk, I just feel like there’s still an interesting story to tell somewhere through all of Moth Flight’s super edition’s bs. In the hands of a better writer who doesn’t ACTUALLY believe that Moth Flight’s genuinely tragic life means that all women who have jobs can never have children or get married again.

There's HUUGE overhauls here. I spoke about it eons ago during the last wave where I was discussing my changes to BB!DOTC, but let me give you the fragments thus far.

It's VERY different. Get ready for Moth Flight to be a completely different character.

MOTH FLIGHT'S VOW

She is no longer the child of Wind Runner. In fact...

She's the daughter of Wind Runner's shitty ex, Branch

Moth's other dad is Cloud Flight (prev. Cloud Spots). Since the Great Battle, Cloud has been wandering between the 5 groups as a sort of traveling doctor. It's a lot of work, there's only him and Dapple and an overwhelming amount of cats who need his skilled paws

So Moth Flight has always been a bit detached from people. I want her to actually have ADHD this time around, instead of it vanishing when it isn't convenient.

She kind of has Military Base Kid energy, hopping place to place with unresolved mental health issues. She probably bites ppl because I love weird girls

Cloud really wanted to train her to be a Medic the way he is, but... she has to learn how to do it her own way.

Branch doesn't help he's a goof and mostly interested in playing games with his baby.

I want to portray Branch as someone who's flighty, not another example of "before the Tribe cats came we were uncivilized heathens without society"

I also don't like his original narrative purpose to give Wind Runner trust issues that don't matter. If she had trust issues, what exactly was all that "please let me join ur group" about??

BB!Wind Runner is a breakaway from the River Kingdom, and the leader of the loosely united Moor cats. She created the Wind Coalition and is its intense, notoriously ruthless leader

So something eventually calls Cloud to do his work for the Wind Coalition

Branch: *SWEATS*

Cloud Flight: "..............branch. what did you Do"

Branch: "youre not allowed to be mad at me"

Cloud Flight: "tell me what you did and then we'll see if im mad at you"

The take might be controversial, but I do like the way that Windstar has problems with Moth Flight for no reason. I wanted to preserve it while removing it being yet another case of motherly child neglect, and more of a case of Wind Runner holding unfair grudges. I think it's good drama

Moth Flight's love of nature, herbs, and the natural world eventually prompts her to follow a Hairstreak Butterfly to the Moonstone. It leads her through the winding tunnels, a path that only Clerics will know how to navigate in the future, to the shimmering chamber in the middle.

Through her special connection to StarClan, drawing off the early cultural view of their ancestors as nature spirits (the fact that they are star spirits is a Park Cat contribution and all 5 leaders have their lives by this point), Moth Flight is able to come into her own as a holy speaker and healer. She begins to blur the line between holiness and healing, marked by how Clanmew has only one word for both concepts.

Hairstreak Butterflies also become known as a "herald" type of butterfly. I could get into the linguistics of this, but the old Tribemew word for moth/butterfly becomes the Clanmew word for sacred butterflies.

Micah is not supremely important anymore, but he's there. He doesn't become a healer in MFV, he's just Moth's mate.

But things begin to go wrong when her kittens are born.

All four children are born with a high connection to StarClan, just like their mother.

She takes it on herself to train them, as Cloud Flight had done with her, wiser from understanding that they would learn in their own ways.

Dapple and Cloud Flight never have this connection to star spirits, and they're growing old. Cloud is ready to retire, Dapple dies in some way before she's able to train a replacement

It begins to cause panic in the groups. It was bad with only two healers, but now everything is stretched even thinner.

SkyClan, notoriously violent, is the first to make the move. Skystar was not above the practice of Kit Stealing, taking Misty's kittens and giving them to Petal Claw for her loyalty ages ago.

Kit Stealing wouldn't become common until the creation of the Law of Loyalty, which is only a few years away, but it did exist before then.

They want a Mothkin kitten.

The Wind Coalition, of course, moves to fight and protect them. They call on ThunderClan, who can usually be relied upon

ThunderClan's request... they also want a Mothkin kitten. They need doctors too.

The River Kingdom and ShadowClan are also moving to take a kitten

EVERYONE needs a doctor, and they will fight and kill to get one. They all begin to realize... if they don't separate, there will be blood. People they love will die, and they'll be ripped apart anyway

Moth Flight, seeing this, BURNING with sorrow and fury at the violence of the Clans but knowing there is no other option, tells her children to make her a promise.

"That there will be no Mothkin after you. That you will never take a mate, or give your kidnappers more children. That you will remember that they were willing to kill their own families to steal you, and that you will be loyal the pursuit of life, virtue, and your sacred ability to heal above the cruel commands of the treacherous Clans."

Having accepted this, the family calls for an end to the fighting. Each child chooses a Clan to go to, and has their name changed.

ThunderClan: Spider Flight -> Spider Flight (no change)

SkyClan: Honey Flight -> Honey Pelt

RiverClan: Bubble Flight -> Bubbling Stream

ShadowClan: Blue Flight -> Blue Whisker

They're being shuffled based on which Clan they go to because it always bothered me that their names don't match their Clans, and also Spider Paw going to RiverClan when he has a phobia of water is insulting and I said no

So, TL;DR, this is a completely different story because DOTC is the one arc that I don't value "fixing." It needs a complete overhaul, imo.

This one would take place after Thunderstar's Justice, which immediately follows the First Battle. In terms of timeline, first is Hollyleaf's Century, 30 years later BB!DOTC begins and lasts several years, a few months after the First Battle begins Thunderstar's Justice, and then Moth Flight's Vow follows a year later.

my unasked for hades 2 overview for no one that asked

first off im gonna say this game is so much fun and wildly different than the first game which doesnt make it feel as repetitive as i thought. a lot of hades 2 focuses on longer range attacks which definitely will take a while to get used to as someone who replayed hades 1 a bit before playing thinking itd be similar playstylewise

the main new introduced gimmick is charged attacks and a change cast that is a circle placed on the ground over a launcher which i LOVE now but the weapon charge attacks are really hit or miss for me. im also a tad disappointed with the weapons i like the staff and the skull but the axe and twin flames arree kinda difficult to use with how i play. the sickle im neutral on and i think theres one more i dont have unlocked

the environments are gorgeous. end tweet the only time i remember im playing an early access game is coming across placeholder assets.

a bit of the combat feels like itll get rebalanced later but its not the Worst. its not really buggy besides like 3 really minor things most ppl wont notice (my timer turning off when i reopened the game, sometimes damage numbers dont show when i hit hecate, not being able to change my monitor in settings)

i do not like how you cannot trade ur tools once you get into a run..i forget what i have sometimes..the tarot card upgrades are a cool concept and fit the witchy theme

i feel..less attached to a lot of the characters than the first one which is funny bc i didnt really care too much about them in the first bc the story writing in 1 is awful but character interactions were fun sometimes. melinoe's design is. not Bad but its not really great it feels a bit too disconnected from..like everything when it feels like shes supposed to be a mix of hades but with evidence of being raised by hecate but the orange and blonde hair............girl i do not like it are they allergic to giving a woman dark hair (minus like.. nemesis) (in trying to make melinoe the opposite of zagreus they kinda just made her into a very bland Woman she should have been a slob too idk shes kinda just like..perfect)

I DO like nemesis more than i thought. much more fun to have some woman come antagonize you other than just helping. but dora is the best character so far..my weed smoking shade roommate. i feel like my feelings on the designs are obvious but i will give a pass to chaos because i do think its a bit of a slay but i cant help but laugh at the bishounenification

scylla's songs are way better than all the vocal tracks from hades 1 like no contest in the blood sucked

3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?

for jellatooo i think a lot of folks at the wild east would just be like. "oh yeah, the sheriff's boyfriend! he doesn't talk but he's real close with north star ☝️" HEHEHEHE he's just acquaintances with them, the kinda person who just waves in your direction if you say hi and thats it 😭 but they appreciate when jellato calms starlo down with just a tug on his hand (or a kiss to the cheek aha). plus he makes their sheriff happy, so he's good in their book 👍👍

as for reynold, i feel like a lot of the people at the manor would expect him to be stuck up since he's a noble but when they actually do talk to him they're like "huh. actually he's not that bad" HAHAHDNWND he has good manners ok..... and his music is nice to listen to so they're not complaining

9. who are your self insert's closest friends?

jellato's closest friends are, unsurprisingly, the feisty four and ceroba! maybe the feisty four took a bit to warm up to him (especially if starlo gave him special treatment 😭) but yk, just Look At Him. that guy has zero ill intent so ofc they accept him into the group!! they enjoy when jellato comes back from waterfall's dump with a bunch of movies for them to watch <3 i think ceroba and jellato have this silent truce like "thank you for making him happy" "thank you for taking care of him until i arrived" and they get along well

10. how do the other characters feel about your self insert and f/o's relationship?

yeah i can see them teasing starlo for being gay HAAHJDJEJNFFN maaaybe it starts with starlo starting to be late for missions and the feisty four are, understandably mad at first but then starlo slips up and say smth that gives away the fact that he's been with jellato...... and they're like "OH?? WHO'S THE LUCKY GUY HUH" i think it would be funny to see the feisty four trying to be starlo's wingman. wingmen ?? idk. everyone's happy for them‼️‼️ i think it would be funny if jellato met starlo's family though. especially bc of the dialogue where his mom is like "he needs to settle down and find a wife" HELEPFJEJJGJR well... he's not a wife but a husband..... they show jellato starlo's baby pictures while starlo tries to make him look away like HAHA LOOK OVER THERE. THERE'S UH. A BIRDIE 🫵🫵🫵 he's embarrassed but jellato thinks it's cute

they probably call reynold a composer ripoff 😭 which is understandable tbh i wasn't very creative with him 🚶‍♂️ but i'm sure they'll love purpleflowertrio at least.... fandoms love gay ppl ok. i can imagine everyone go insane over any official art where they're together or if they have matching costumes.... or if they have interactive emotes with each other auagsgfhfhghgh........ it's a cute thought

OOHH ok this one is interesting but i like to think that jellato likes drawing stuff with the notebooks/sketchbooks that starlo gifts him. i like to think that when jellato writes stuff he draws little doodles next to it.... like a heart next to starlo's name or smth yk. maybe before he migrated to the dunes, he would mostly sleep a lot in waterfall so he didn't do much until he met starlo and the others. figuring out what he likes to do with them is so sweet...... Brace yourself to wait out the unleash of anti-comments Doyoung is getting. Antis are using the opportunity, and many fans are confused, shaken by emotions. It will be OK, it will pass soon enough.

McDac's promotion is aimed at SK and it is a charity. Doyoung donated 50mln won for children around Christmas. He participated in the ad for charity as well. Doubting him or blaming him speaks more about a fan's weak sense of morale and integrity than his. These advertisement companies are planned beforehand, moreover, they are created by absolutely different people in different parts of the world. US branch of MD and Korean branch of MD are not the same. Local businessmen buy the right to use the brand name, it's a franchise.

Korea is Korea, it's a country half-globe away from the conflict in question. K-pop has nothing to do with it. There are multiple conflicts and disasters all over the world that happen at the same time. However, people pay attention mostly only to those that are covered by the media. I haven't seen any k-pop fan talking about Armenia-Azerbaijan (and Armenian people experienced a genocide in the past), zero talks about what happens in Haiti, and it's been ages since I saw mention of Ukraine. And Russia-Ukraine war continues with thousands of people being killed on both sides. And it won't stop as long as Putin is in power. Noone is cancelling him in the fandom, for some reason. US is abuzz about the migrant crisis, but the rest of the world is blissfully unaware. How many people die in those jungles?

I can give you an example of fans only following the guidance of a laser pointer. You should be aware of regular "controversies" over t-shirts, headwear, hair styles, stage design. Doyoung was given a shirt with themes of Moscow (the cathedral) and Orthodoxy (Mary with Jesus, they way it is portrayed on Russian icons). Has anyone sounded concerns that Russia is on the black list, that Doyoung is a non-Orthodox Christian, that using religious imagery for fashion on a "see-thorough" shirt can be offensive for believers/cultural appropriation? (Russia has laws nowadays, plays like "Jesus Christ Superstar" can't be played). Or that such tattoos are actually prison culture, like with yakuza? Noone batted an eye. And rightfully so, because it's just a silly shirt from a fashion collection.

4. I understand fans want to do good, but what they are doing is mostly virtue-signalling. Their online actions don't help.

When Russia attacked Ukraine many companies left Russia. Either on their own or being pressured to do so. The results:

Common people lost their secure jobs with good salaries. Companies like IKEA brought with them their corporate culture of taking care of their employees, what can't be said about Russian workplaces. Russia is a very hard market to enter due to local corruption and no real protection by law. I know IKEA spent like 10 years to do so. The fruits of labour of those middle level executives were just scratched off like that.

The foreign companies were either seized or sold cheaply to Putin's cronies. As a result, he gained more of their support, because he gave them "feudal lands", conpensated for their losses due to the war and sanctions.

The state started propaganda "domestic replacement" campaign (to calm down the people, "we don't need the West or anybody!"). Money were given to any shady bussenesmen who promised to invent "Russian alternative". In reality, those money were taken and no product developed. Or a label with a Russian company name plastered on a Chinese product like a tractor. Again, another scheme for people in power, from "the elite", to fill their pockets with money and to not mind the war started by Putin.

Apple, Coca-Cola and other products are still present in the shops. They are just imported/smuggled via neighbouring countries and sold for higher price. Commoners suffer because of the prices, businessmen and the brands stay OK. And taxes still go to the state.

Many freelancers and artists either lost completely the opportunity to earn money with their craft or needed a long time to readjust and are earning less. There is little demand for art on the domestic market, so the artists need other countries. PayPal left the country, so no Etsy for them. It doesn't work like that. There is no easy A to B. It's a giant multilayered problem, and more often than not you are being used in an informational war by one side or the other. Hamas terrorists steal the trucks with foreign aid for themselves. And who knows how many fake donation schemes there are. Israel won't listen to the opinion of college students because it's a question of survival as a country for them. The wars in the Middle East won't end as long as their is oil and gas. McDac will lose some money now in one country and earn them back in another by lowering the quality of its products or the conditions for cows raised for burgers or the salaries of its workers in developing countries.

i dont rly have one off the top of my head but i liked the new jumping course with an actual points system. sso races lack too much in well-designed challenges so i think its a good update. i also like the dressage in theory but i havent really played it yet this year bc im too exhausted to think. i prefer champs to single player crosscountry races since it feels like an actual challenge.

Which Championship is your favorite? Why?

firgrove is the one champ i actually do for fun... maybe new hillcrest champ can count in there too, tho thats more like "do it just to see the drama when the top spots die in the swamp". im still getting used to valedale champ but i keep getting lost and confused, it has potential but i feel like its a bit too chaotic so u dont even know whats going on and its easy to get completely lost if u get too far behind the other players. the other new champs are fine too.

Which Quests were your favorite? Why?

prob the nightdust story. i really wish sso had animated cutscenes throughout the game. (now we have some, but the current writing is so boring and disconnected from the existing storyline that i cant feel anything about the cutscenes. it doesnt feel like its the continuation of the same story.) i also liked the part of the main story when elizabeth died and we were stuck with alex in pandoria for a bit, bc at the moment that felt pretty dramatic and we were in like a unique location and stuff actually happened that had some kind of consequence. but even if i say that, lisa's song thing in that scene was kinda out of nowhere (bc they had just redesigned the soul riders shortly before and released her new music but it didnt feel connected to the previous lisa we knew yet - who didnt actually sing in sso at all besides us playing that harp one time? so her singing to guide us out felt generic rather than heartfelt bc we didnt really have a relation to this version of lisa.) and i liked the saving herman stuff.... and the rania and saving the lake in mistfall stuff.... i liked when we went with the rangers into wildwoods for the first time too.... theres also a lot of funny smaller quests i liked, like the original big bonny quests, the jarlaheim mayor guy, ed field, flooding the baroness cellar, igor stuff, the bridge building guy whos scared of heights, idk, stuff thats not really important to the story but silly in a way that made me laugh. i dont think the current writers are likely to write anything like that tho.

Which Event is your favorite? Why?

for now i dont really know, im not enjoying any of them that much. i guess it will be interesting to see what camp western is like this time. i love yule and winter time in general as a person but i dont necessarily care that much about the sso winter event, i love the snow though. halloween trail ride is fun but i feel like the excitement of seeing it the first time is completely different than doing it repeatedly year after year. i mostly wish that they would shave down the events into much smaller things and focus on the permanent storylines, fleshing out existing npcs and side stories and areas, and on releasing new areas alongside the story taking our characters there. i think making the events have so much going on (except none of it is especially fun) was a bad choice that took too much time and resources from the core development of the game. ppl wouldnt complain much about having nothing to do during events if we got consistent new quests and other stuff unrelated to the events imo.

story and side quests, i really dont care about the events (aside from that one ydris halloween when galloper was trapped in the tower. i remember walking up to the portal and hearing the party music fading in for the first time, and how mc actually got to use magic.... cool times, but i still dont think they should do stuff like this for events unless they have a really good idea and the resources to execute it. its better as part of the main story.)

What part of the Main Story is your favorite?

mostly already answered in a question above, i feel like prob my fav is when we went into epona and started discovering the whole CHILL thing and saving herman bc that had a lot of excitement and mystery building up (which then fizzled out due to bad management). i used to really like talking to the different npcs across jorvik bc they had distinct personalities and problems, and often its like, its actually a bigger problem connected to the larger plot, but what we hear is how that thing affects local people on a smaller scale and they dont even necessarily think about some grand evil plot, theyre just annoyed they have extra paperwork, or confused why their thing isnt working anymore. idk old sso writing was both silly and really fun and immersive.

1. who was the first alter? who was the most recently formed? im not sure how much we like.. Work, like that? like for a huge portion of our life we didnt realize that a LOT of us were switching around really Really often without realizing it. we have definitely Noticed some ppl more recently than others, but that doesnt mean they werent already there and doing things but just hadnt realized 'oh im a different person than [x]' if we're talking earliest that we can remember? probably Carina or X0. latest would probably be Fetch 2. what do you all have in common? is there something you like to do together? a good chunk of us all like to write, which helps when thats also an activity we end up doing together a lot. we all have our preferences for characters, settings, etc. but its usually something thats more fun Together than separate 8. are there certain alters who excel at certain things? who, and at what? althea is rly good (as in Not As Terrible as anyone else whos tried) at Hollow Knight and nobody knows why; usually we're terrible at 2D stuff. TV tends to be good at planning out creative projects as well as like, doing repetitive tasks (like at work and such). im (X0) pretty decent at keeping up w/ more involved conversations w/ strangers/coworkers/acquaintances/etc. carina is usually super polite in convos so is usually better at talking to like... older folks or ppl in public who are upset about something; its also pretty good at analyzing things idk, i could go on but thats plenty 9. do you have any awkward stories about cofronting? ooh,,, share cofronting is Always weird with conversations, bc the way we talk can switch just, constantly as different ppl are talking. its not usually noticeable over text if ppl dont know us, but it can make things Awkward in person, especially if we're too exhausted to keep up appearances at that time 13. what makes each alter laugh? tbh i feel like this and some of the other questions require a better awareness of which of us is fronting (at any given time) than we actually have. like i Know theres Differences, i know its easier to get a laugh out of me than it is with Althea, for instance. but as far as knowing what Content does it for which system member? idfk 14. storytime! share your favorite memories of the system see this kinda stuff is mostly like. I’m currently watching Wednesday and I’m not finished with the season but I have a couple thoughts:

SPOILERS FOR NETFLIX’s WEDNESDAY!!!!!!

1) I love Enid that’s my sista

2) I love Bianca. From ep1 I was like YES a DS Black girl who’s the HBIC !!!

2.a) I immediately wanted an enemies to lovers ship with Wednesday and Bianca while watching ep1 lol I doubt the show will ever go that route but a girl can dream

3) I love how Enid and Wednesday have a “we’re opposites but we will do anything for each other” type friendship… similar to Galinda and Elphaba in a way lol

4) so far from what I’ve seen in the show, Wednesday is either aro or at least queer (even outside my want of an enemies to lovers arc) therefore I find the triangle between Wednesday Tyler and Xavier very boring

4.a) another reason I don’t care for the triangle is one, Wednesday, to me, has not shown or expressed any romantic interest in either guy since she got to Nevermore but because both boys immediately took a liking to her, they both projected their feelings onto her and then got upset when it came to the Rave’N dance; and two, the classic teen romance drama kinda takes away from why we like Wednesday so much as a character. She is diff from everyone else and I feel like I’m fine with her going to a high school and not having a bf, gf, or any romantic partner

5) I don’t think Gomez actually killed that Garrett kid… either Morticia did and he’s covering for her bc he loves her or possibly he died some other way? Anyway considering where I left off in the show before making this post is Gomez going to jail and Wednesday bearing his story and her not believing it… I’ll guess I’ll find out soon

6) not crazy about these portrayals of Gomez and Morticia… the energy just isn’t there for me. I know a lot of ppl dislike the casting of Gomez (Luis Guzman), I assume mostly bc he’s unattractive by societal standard (aka he’s fat)… which I initially didn’t care about bc who cares if Gomez is fat, as long as his personality is the same then it’s fine… but idk…. his Gomez is different but not in a refreshing way.

6.a) I do like CZJ’s Morticia more than I like LG’s Gomez but still idk… maybe I’m being too harsh of a critic but it’s not quite all the way there for me for some reason….

7) Since episode one I haven’t trusted the principal and I half don’t trust Miss Thornhill so I’m curious to see how their characters play out by the end of the season

8) Eugene, just like Enid is very precious to me! I felt bad he got got by the monster and I’m shocked but happy they didn’t kill him off… I was upset that he (very predictably) still went into the woods the night of the dance even tho Wednesday told him not to

8.a) I love the fact that he has lesbian moms!

Every single thought I have about the Doctor Who 60th specials… (Part 2/2) 

Part 1

I feel like I’m losing my mind with all the opinions, questions and theories I have about what we’ve watched over the last three weeks so this is part 2 of a full semi-comprehensive list of pretty much all of it so I can get it out of my head and (mostly) move on

The Giggle

Toymaker Stuff

I didn’t love the mad guy’s speech at the beginning, it felt very unnatural idk

Wilf isn’t affected by what’s going on so that would surely mean that Kate shouldn’t be affected either because they both went into the TARDIS for pretty short amounts of time. Wilf probably even less than Kate as far as I can remember. I’m kinda just gonna assume it’s to do with when episodes were written, filmed and aired like I guess RTD didn’t know that Kate would end up in the TARDIS during PoTD and it was too late to change it when he found out

The tune in everyone's head reminds me of the Master in S3 using the beat to get everyone to vote for him

I don’t know how I feel about the Toymaker showing up because of the salt in WBY like.. Okay I guess. Wait I don't think I really care that much either way actually. It’s fine

NPH did a fine job for the most part but I low-key wish the Toymaker was played by someone unknown because I just couldn't get out of my head that it was NPH lmao but maybe that’s just a me problem

I liked the Spice Girls scene but I didn't love the lip-syncing idk, it didn’t have enough power to it, just felt kinda awkward. Also while I loved it, it is probably my least favourite out of the three scenes like that that we’ve had. Rasputin number one!

I’m not sure if I like the bit where the Doctor basically does what he did with the Master and offers to be with the Toymaker and go travelling and stuff like.. Did he mean that? What would have happened if the Toymaker agreed? I do get what he’s saying though about how the Toymaker can do all of that and chooses to cause problems for people but idk, offering to go out to space with him isn’t my fave like why are you tryna give the Toymaker a redemption arc rn fuck him

RTD said in the commentary that the ‘I made a jigsaw out of your history’ comment was kinda to relax the rules a bit and make more sense of contradicting things we’ve seen like the half-human thing and the Timeless Child for example and like.. Okay, I guess. I think it’s an unnecessary addition tbh. And the ‘Did you like it?’ comment is like right, are we saying the Doctor has memories of, say, believing they were half human because that’s so silly to me. Just chalk it up to a dumb writing choice that went nowhere and move on. We don't need an in-universe explanation for it.

‘I made every opinion supreme. That's the game of the 21st century. They shout and they type and they cancel. So I fixed it. Now everyone wins.’ - CRINGE sorry. Like ppl say Chibnall has on the nose commentaries (@ the Orphan 55 speech) but some of the stuff in this ep was like yeah okay Russ mate we get it. Also I don’t trust that a 60yo man fully understands what ‘cancelling’ is and it always makes me side eye ppl when they mention cancelling bc I’m like right but ‘cancelling’ is a lot of the time actually just people being held accountable for things but whatever. I get though that the point in this episode was to make people extreme so there were examples of ‘cancelling’ in the ridiculous sense rather than the holding accountable sense so whatever

I cba to check what he specifically said but there was a moment where the Doctor was like ‘if I told you he [could do this thing] would you believe me’ and the person he was talking to was like ‘can he do that’ and the Doctor was like ‘no’ so um why mention it then? Dumb as fuck

Not sure about the Toymaker being racist, feels unnecessary? Obviously recognising that the original character is fucked up is important but I don’t know if having the new Toymaker straight up be racist towards someone and spend the episode doing different accents was really needed? Like was the actual character of the Toymaker racist in that original serial or did he just have aspects to him (like name and outfit) that we now recognise as being fucked up? And he’s not from Earth so idk why he would be racist and also in unleashed they’re like ‘he is now a white character played by a white actor’ which he also was in the 60s so?? Unless what they’re saying is that back then the character was intended to be Chinese but was obviously played by a white person? Idk everything about the original Toymaker so maybe overall it does work that he’s racist, idfk

Hints

The Master - RTD said in the commentary for this episode that he hasn’t got any Master plans right now and if that’s true then I truly do not understand why he would bring the Master up at all let alone hint at their return (in the same way he hinted at it back in S3 mind you like get some new actually decent ideas Russell I’m begging). It’s just such a waste of time to do that. Let whoever decides to bring the Master back in the future figure out how they want to do it, and if it’s RTD that ends up doing it, do the hinting and explanation at a time when it makes sense, not in the midst of an episode two plus seasons from the Master even coming back. Baffling choice. I did love the laughs we heard as someone picked the tooth up though and also I love the idea of the Master going up against the Toymaker.

The One Who Waits - Okay. Idk how anyone can have any theories about this tbh but someone who the Toymaker would rather avoid has gotta be pretty rough

‘My Legions are coming.’ - They say in the commentary that this is true and every few episodes the story is kinda supernatural and the rules are suspended a bit and I’m SO excited for that, sounds really interesting

Name Drops

Obsessed with the companion puppet show. I’ve seen a lot of people basically try and clown on the fact that no Chibnall companions got mentioned during that as if it’s the funniest thing in the world and Chibnall has been skipped for shady reasons or something and I find it so embarrassing. It’s literally like well no, 13 managed to get all her companions home safe so why would the Toymaker mention them in a puppet show about the Doctor’s dead companions? Like ppl seem to think it’s funny bc they’re skipping Chibnall’s companions but imo it’s more funny bc it makes the Toymaker’s little story less impactful like he’s got a run of three companions that leave via traumatic experiences but then he has to skip four whole companions bc they literally got home fine like it ruins the flow and is kinda embarrassing for him if he’s tryna prove that the Doctor get’s everyone killed all the time bc clearly they don’t. But anyways

The lack of Yaz mention in the scene at the end literally full of namedrops is frustrating icl. Like, the whole conversation they’re having is around the Doctor never resting. The Doctor is literally about to go and rest by staying in one place for an extended period of time with a companion, FIXING THEMSELVES SOMEWHERE, and you don’t think now would be a good time to do a quick mention to the companion the Doctor left less than 24 hours ago that they decided they couldn’t be with because they ‘couldn’t fix themselves to anyone’? Are you being fr? Like, a Yaz mention fits in so perfectly with that conversation so the fact they left her out is CRAZY.

I don’t think it would have made sense to mention her along with River and Rose because the vibe of the conversation was about like, hugely devastating moments/experiences and the Doctor leaving Yaz isn’t quite on that level in terms of Yaz is just in Sheffield if the Doctor wanted to see her whereas they lost both Rose and River in devastating ways. But I think when people point that out they do it as a reason to not mention Yaz but to me it’s like, well no, she should still have got a mention, just at a different point in the conversation. Even if it wasn’t in relation to the whole fixing themselves to someone thing, they could very easily have had 15 been like ‘Yaz left less than 24 hours ago and I bet you haven’t even tried processing that’

Idk. I know so many ppl are clowning on the fact Yaz wasn’t mentioned or trying to justify why there was no reason to mention her anyways but it’s like no matter what you think of the previous era and the quality of it, it is a FACT that the Doctor thought of Yaz very highly, literally comparing her to River, so not mentioning her during that scene, especially when the Doctor left her not even 24 hours ago, is beyond ridiculous and I’ll genuinely never stop being baffled by it

I know some people don’t like the Sarah Jane mention and feel like she deserved something bigger but I liked it tbh. The Doctor was like ‘Can you just think for a second about how crazy it is that you’ve been so busy doing shit that you not only haven’t been to see your old companion in YEARS to just catch but also it’s taken you so long to do so that she’s died.’ I get wanting more emotion but I kinda liked that it was more of a call out and also like a ‘woah’ moment because I think Sarah Jane is one of those characters you wouldn’t think of dying so her being gone is in universe now too IS a woah moment

The Mavic Chen mention was kinda unnecessary. Idk I don’t really know anything about the character other than it’s a white guy portraying an Asian character so like… of all the characters to mention idk why that would be the one. I don’t even know if they’re that significant of a character, the racism is literally the only thing I hear people mention which leads me to think there’s not really much else going on there that’s worth them getting a name drop after however many decades but whatever

Bigeneration, Face Explanations

I think bigeneration as a concept is interesting and I actually do like the moment where it gets brought up and they’re like ‘It’s a myth apparently not’ and 15 is like ‘myth, myth, myth,’ like ‘the details don't matter right now, what’s happened has happened, moving on’ but at the same time, while the details didn’t matter in that moment, I actually do want details.

I can’t remember which Doctor it was but one of them says to the Toymaker, ‘you did this, you doubled us’ so I guess we’re saying that the reason the bigeneration happened is because of the Toymaker. That’s fine by me tbh. Like okay, the Toymaker, and people as powerful as the Toymaker, are rarely around to make that happen so I guess it makes sense that bigeneration could be SO rare that it’s thought of as a myth rather than a real thing. But that’s about the only thing about bigeneration that I think is even remotely clear or like, un-annoying enough for me to just be like okay cool whatever

From the commentary - ‘I think down the timeline they all separated and came back to life with their TARDISes, the gift of the Toymaker. What I'm calling the Docterverse. I want to create a future in which Sylvester McCoy could just survive and have an adventure. Because one of the thing about The Star Beast is to get you back we had to jump through so many hoops which is a great story but it's like why can't you just arrive and step out of the tardis. So hopefully it creates a story where that happens.’ - This is just unnecessary and I don’t really see the need for it and the reasons RTD gave aren’t really THAT compelling to me.

First of all, the ‘gift of the Toymaker’ comment is proof of him being why the bigeneration happened. I don’t think the bigen is in any way related to the state the Doctor was in after years of bottling things up like I think some people have speculated. But also there is a moment in the episode where 15 says ‘bigeneration has never happened before’ so that makes me be like well if it hasn’t happened before why would it be a myth? And I guess how do you know it’s never happened before? IDFK

Second, ‘we had to jump through hoops to get DT and CTATE back’... You quite literally did not. 13 regenerated into DT, Donna magically survived with the help of girl power and her plot device daughter. It was actually quite simple.

Third, I get the thing of wanting to be able to tell a story that’s set in a world where Sylvester McCoy didn’t regenerate when he did and instead went on to continue travelling with Ace or met new companions or grew old or whatever else but I just don’t think bigeneration was the solution for that. You can absolutely write those kinds of stories without bigeneration. Like somebody introduce Rusell to the concept of Alternate Universe fanfiction fuck me. All of that stuff does not need to be added to the official canon timeline of the Doctor.  Doctor Who is already a massive franchise with content all over the place but imo the idea that every Doctor bigenerated adds to that on such a ridiculous level. And also I know that there’s already so many Doctors travelling the universe but the fact that now I guess there’s TWO of every Doctor is like.. Why? 

I also think all of it happening in the same universe cheapens the story of our main Doctor and each incarnation’s life and ‘death’ on some level. Like, now RTD is basically saying that 13 bigenerated and 14 went on like we saw in the 60th but 13 coulda gone back to Yaz and said ‘Actually I’ll be with you because I can do that now.’ and I just HATE IT. That would completely take away all the emotional impact of their ending because it’s all in the same universe as what took place in the show. That’s not some AU Yasmin Khan that now gets to have a happily ever after with the Doctor, it would be OUR Yaz from this universe and that’s STUPID. For another example, 10’s final words of ‘I don’t wanna go’ well don’t worry, he didn’t go! Like omg write all the AU fanfics you want about 13 running back to Yaz or 10 crying about not wanting to go only to then actually not have to go or whatever else but don’t put that shit into the actual canon Russell?? Not that 13 going back to Yaz is in the canon now (10 not actually ‘going’ is tho according to RTD’s everyone bigenerated theory), but it’s possible we’ll get some EU book that’s about that and I just would much prefer stuff like that to be kept to fanfics or even be official DW content but be specifically alternate universe/what if style stuff. 

Idk like at the end of the day I will just be ignoring that RTD is saying every Doctor bigenerated in that moment unless we see some stuff related to it in the main show (though even then I’ll probs be like nah) because it’s genuinely one of the dumbest things a showrunner has ever come up with but even though I’m gonna ignore it, it still winds me up because I’m just so baffled that it’s even real and the reasons for it aren’t even good. 

Like ‘now we can bring a Doctor back whenever and not have to worry about where they fit in their timeline or how old they look’??? How STUPID omg I actually can’t cope. There’s basically infinite space in every Doctor’s timeline where you can just be like okay let’s say they came from that point. The need to be like well now we don’t have to figure that out is SO lazy. A lot of stories don’t even get too specific, because half the time it doesn’t really matter much

And the whole them aging thing is like did anyone give a fuck that they looked old in Power of the Doctor? No. Because it doesn’t matter. And if it did matter, just recast them. Like if we ever got a full on multi Doctor episode with a Classic Doctor (like TUaT) I would much prefer to see them be recast than have the character be played by the older actor and have it rationalised by saying ‘Well they bigenerated and they’ve got old’ like how FUCKING DUMB get me out of here. Just recast them and think for two seconds about what point in their timeline they could be coming from. 

And if you want to tell stories where they magically survived and met new companions or went on adventures that wouldn’t fit with what we know their general timeline/arc is then create specific alternate universe content, don’t make every Doctor magically survive their regeneration. The Tales of the TARDIS stories on iPlayer are interesting but the idea of it being in our main Doctor’s universe/timelines is just silly. Say it’s an alternate universe where the Doctor didn’t regenerate at the point they did omg, it’s that simple

He also literally says ‘it’s what everyone does in their imagination’ and ‘it's Big Finish’ and um yes Russell, there is a reason that stuff is imagination and alternate universe and not like, canonically a part of the Doctor’s life, because it’s just silly.

Also I’m not fully clear on what this means for 14 like okay so (1) is he going to get old and die, (2) is he his own Doctor now that will regenerate as normal for potentially an infinite amount of times or (3) is he gonna at some point regenerate and magically appear as the 15 that bigenerated out of him however many years previously on the roof? 

I want to say it’s (3) mainly because of 15 saying ‘I’m fine because you fix yourself’, and it does make sense that 15 is the way he is because he’s a result of the recovery 14 goes through but it raises more questions because like... How tf does that happen? 14 regenerates one day and turns into a puff of smoke while his consciousness travels across the country to the roof and implants itself into 14’s brain as the Toymaker shoots him and then he pops out as 15? Like? It’s SO ridiculous. This is kinda the only thing that makes me want bigeneration to come up again in future seasons because maybe RTD has a clear explanation in mind that will play out better on screen and make more sense than what we’re working with right now

Tbh I think option (1) would’ve been my favourite if we’re saying every Doctor bigenerated because it makes things a lot simpler and also would mean that whatever the Doctor goes through post bigeneration doesn’t effect the main Doctor so essentially our main Doctor would be existing as if the bigenerations never even happened because unlike if option (3) is what’s going on, they won’t have any memories of what the post-bigenerated Doctor got up before they magically get transported back to become them yknow? It does kinda make 15 being like that (happy, therapized) less interesting though because it would basically mean that he is a true fresh start for the Doctor and he basically fobbed all the trauma off onto 14 when he popped out rather than having memories of overcoming that trauma etc while living with Donna. And that’s kinda cop out-y and doesn’t make sense if we’re saying EVERY other Doctor also bigenerated (which I’m not saying bc fuck that but it’s Russell’s theory so). 

Like if 11 bigenerated in Time of the Doctor, 12 would NOT have that personality bc he presumably would have fobbed all the trauma onto 11 and came out fresh as fuck like 15 did (and like obviously the reason that actually didn’t happen is because bigeneration wasn’t invented back then out of universe but you know what I mean, if we’re saying retroactively that it DID happen then it doesn’t make full sense. Unless 14’s bigeneration was a one off and not every bigeneration results in one Doctor being left with the trauma and the other Doctor being fine. Wait, I'd much prefer that actually…

If the explanation we’re going with is every Doctor bigenerated then I prefer the idea that both Doctor’s that come from the bigeneration are exactly same, but maybe bc 14/15 are the main focus and reason the bigenerations happened, that’s why 14 is fucked still and 15 is recovered. So then 14 lives his life, dies of old age. Then 15 continues as the Doctor. And for previous Doctors, 12 would still be the 12 we know because the bigeneration didn’t change the Doctor’s personality.

This is what kills me about Russell saying EVERY Doctor bigenerated btw. I'm so down for 14 bigenerating then living his life resulting in 15 being the way he is but it happenining to EVERY Doctor is where it falls apart. It’s STUPID. Because if we’re saying 15 is the way he is because 14 lived his life and go therapy then surely the same would’ve happened with all previous Doctors? And maybe they wouldn’t necessarily be thereapized but they wouldn’t have the traumas of what they just regenerated from because they would have just lived however many years between then becoming slightly or largely different people. Like if 10 bigenerated and didn’t go, essentially getting what he wanted, would the 11th Doctor then have wanted to run away to a fresh start like he did in S5? Because who knows what sort of things 10 would have got up to between bigenerating as himself and magically getting back there again as 11. As for option (2), yeah, I hate that idea. Like, 14 (and every previous Doctor that apparently bigenerated (fuck you Russel T)) going on to live that life out but then also continue on regenerating and basically being their own person now that’s branched off from our main Doctor? I love that 15 basically takes over the episode instantly like he says to push, he explains stuff, he has the throw that makes them win. Idk I understand why people were worried about the first main black Doctor being overshadowed by the people’s princess but I think anyone who believes DT overshadowed Ncuti in those final 15 or so minutes is SOOOOO wrong. 14 still had his moments obviously, but 15 was absolutely present and had great stuff too, probably more so

The ‘do you come in a range of colours’ comment from Donna was honestly kinda jarring like I know what she was asking and why she was asking it but the way she asked felt crazy. But also if she has memories of what the Doctor has been through since he left her then surely she knows he ‘comes in a range of colours’ because she would’ve seen 13 meet Fugitive? Unless I’m misremembering and Donna was being fr when she said she couldn’t remember the stuff she saw properly. Idk 

There’s vibes to it that I don’t love but overall I think I am happy and okay with 14’s ending like I’ve seen a lot of people say it ruins 10’s ending for various reasons or like, it’s not fair that other Doctors didn’t get this but I think that’s kinda silly. In terms of 10’s ending, him bigenerating (according to Russell, I'm pretending that shit didn't happen) is what ruins his ending, not the fact that 14 now gets to be happy. And in terms of other Doctor’s deserving it, you just sound childish icl. Like yeah okay every Doctor deserves to be happy and healthy and rest up but that just isn’t what happened, grow up. I don’t think I looove the explanation that his face came back because he was wearing himself out and wanted to go home or whatever like idk. It feels kinda simple and boring. I do like the idea of the Doctor just being so worn out that he ends up spending a regeneration recovering, that’s VERY real and the Doctor defo needs that. But that being the whole reason the face came back is very cop out-y imo, much like the explanation for Donna surviving the metacrisis. Two big story points that could’ve had really interesting explanations but were kinda nothing in the end. I’m glad 14 got the ending he did but that part of the explanation was a bit boring

14 accepting he’s regenerating only to then.. Not regenerate is kinda haunting like everyone has BEEN saying oh it would be nice if 10 didn’t want to go and 14 finally got closure or whatever and was okay with it and then that literally happened and he didn’t even end up going like.. Okay. I think it makes sense for him to be okay with going bc as much as people love to say it, he’s not ACTUALLY 10 and the Doctor’s attitude to regeneration has changed since he was 10 but idk, I’m just wondering if the bigen kinda ruins that moment of acceptance from him

14 saying he fought all those battles and now he knows what for because he’s living a happy life makes me feel INSANE. Honestly, I think that’s the line that really makes me remember that this isn’t just 10 3.0, this is the Doctor with pre- and post-10 baggage and I really felt his age and felt how deserving the Doctor is of just being happy and living that life.

There’s a moment where 15 says about how they’ve never just stopped and rested and I’ve seen people not like that and bring up things like Darillium or the time 11 spent mourning the Ponds or 12 working at the university and I defo understand where that POV is coming from but I think for me there is a difference between those and 14’s ending because 14’s ending is really just as simple as he is living on Earth pretty much permanently with the odd trip away and that’s just his life now whereas with all the others there was bigger things going on that the Doctor simply staying at a place because they feel like it. Darillium is probably the closest to being like 14 but I cannot imagine 12 and River just spent 24 years doing nothing, I’m sure they travelled during that time. And then 12 at the Uni had watching vault duties and 11 was in deep mourning. 14’s ending is a lot more simple y'know and focused specifically on his recovery and just living his best life.

The TODAY text that came up when we first saw 14 and Donna was so unnecessary. It’s 100% the kind of thing Chibnall would've got shit for bc ppl have a weird hatred for his location texts but I haven’t really seen anymore mention it even though it’s defo the worst location text the show has seen

I am obsessed with the music when 14 first appears in the ep and when they first meet the Toymaker in the shop, it’s so good. I’m not that happy about Murray Gold being back bc it’s suuuuuch a ‘getting the band back together’ thing like omg just hire some new ppl but I’ve always liked his stuff so whatever I guess

DT says in there that he didn’t make a conscious effort to play 14 differently to 10 and I find that baffling for two reasons - first because he FELT different, so the fact he wasn’t trying to be is kinda impressive and second because I’m like surely you know the character has changed over that time? Like I know 14 is essentially 10 but he is 10 with 1000+ years of extra baggage and not taking that into consideration when going into the part is borderline unprofessional? Naive? Embarrassing? Makes me think he wasn’t taking the story/character seriously? Idek. I find it strange. RTD’s fault too, I’m sure. Though the fact 14 feels a bit different is in part to do with the scripts etc

Also in the commentary they were laughing at the idea of DT coming back and playing the Doctor differently and like, I get it, obviously the excitement about him coming back was because people love 10 and the story they told made it make sense he was acting a lot like 10 but to laugh off the idea of him playing it differently is CRAZY, there’s surely interesting stuff that coulda been done there. Like one day an actor coming back to the role as a main incarnation and playing it completely different to how they played it the first time round and having a completely new arc etc would be really cool imo

I love seeing the Doctor be high on regen energy when they first regenerate, it’s one of the best parts of seeing a new Doctor, but I also kinda agree that it’s nice to do something different and seeing 14 and 15 interact with each other was 10/10. He's rather enthusiastic to have a partner he cares for so much, but if you've told him or if he's noticed that you'd prefer for him to turn down the hype a little, he'll definitely try to be a little more "chill" about it. He would absolutely love to learn about new things with you! (A brief callback to one of my other things, this of course means that he'll be calling you whenever he has a question about something, but the more he does it, the more it seems like he isn't actually curious about what he's calling to ask you about, but rather he's instead doing it to hide the fact he really just wants to talk to you.)

And of course in exchange for everything you tell him about Earth, he's going to return the favor (as long as you ask him something he actually knows about)... But with your interest in space, he'd be able to tell you a lot of things about the stars and cosmos, all of which he learned about in the academy and from Alpha Trion while he was a guard at Iacon. Or he could tell you about cybertronian history, or cybertronian customs that he thinks you'd find interesting or funny.

But aside from that, he'd strive to impress you in whatever way possible, but unfortunately that's a bit... Difficult for him, since the first things that come to mind include feats of strength and shows of his fighting capabilities, but due to your dislike of violence, he decides to opt for other means instead. He quite literally searches up "ways to impress your crush" online and tries out the ones he thinks you'd like the most, like showing off his smarts, or showing that he's really interested in whatever's on your mind.

He's also the type of S/O who'd definitely try out stuff that their partner's into, so he's willing to try out a whole bunch of your hobbies if it means the two of you get to hang out together. I'd like to imagine he's particularly fond of listening to you play music, and perhaps he even hums along when he grows more familiar with the tune.

He'd definitely try to help you come out of your shell and he actively encourages you to live life whatever way makes you happy and live life with no regrets. He's also pretty quick to recognize most of his mistakes and make up for them accordingly. He also always emphasizes that he promises to learn from them (and he does for your sake).

Breakdown

He's actually pretty chill and easy-going as a partner. He doesn't usually do any showy romantic expressions of love (unless you like them), but that doesn't mean he takes the relationship lightly. He particularly enjoys just spending as much time with you as he can in your day-to-day lives. You don't have to do anything special like go on dates, he's just perfectly content hanging out with you and doing whatever you can together.

And contrary to how he looks as a "big brutish tough guy", he's actually very gentle and chill when it comes to you. He enjoys joking around and maybe the two of you even have a few inside jokes that you laugh about from time to time.

He's pretty fond of the great outdoors too! And though patrolling may still be tedious work, the scenery makes it all the more worthwhile. Not to mention that it isn't as boring whenever you offer to tag along for the ride. Or if there are any neat trees you'd want a closer look at, he'll make sure to lift you up there carefully and let you pick a leaf or a flower out of them.

Whenever the two of you patrol sparsely populated areas with lots of wildlife, he'll occasionally point out animals here and there, and he'll sorta make a game out it.

Of course he isn't any good at naming the animals he sees, but he thinks that it's neat that you get to tell him what those animals are, or what that plant is, or what that other neat thing is that he saw on the road.

And I feel like he isn't that squeamish or disgusted by bugs, and I think he'd find beetles or any kind of resilient or strong bug super cool despite their miniature stature.

Animals aside, Knockout once recommended that Breakdown should take you out to the theater, saying that it was a romantic thing that humans do. So you can expect drive-in theater movie nights to be a frequent thing from time to time. He'll let you sit in his cab and he parks somewhere with a good view of the screen. He claims that he doesn't find horror movies all that scary, and actually nitpicks at the actual details themselves, but from time to time you'll notice the subtle way his frame begin to shake and his tires twist during some particularly scary scenes... Tease him about it if you will, but not once will he ever admit to being afraid.

And also if you're ever interested in learning self-defense, he definitely would step up and offer to teach you how to punch people in the face. "You never know when it'll come in handy" is what he says to justify it.

He's not usually someone who gets hyped over gifts. That doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like them, it's just that he's never received many gifts before, so he doesn't truly understand the hype around them. But once you come around and give him gifts, he gets around to understanding the appeal. He gets happy and a little excited whenever you bring him something, and he also tries to get you gifts to return the favor! But given his situation as a giant robot, he can't exactly do that for you, but what the two of you could do is check out old junkyards to see if there's anything neat to take.

Curious as to what your (and anyone else who wants to join in) thoughts are on teams/drivers making statements on one form of social media and not another. Or even making a statement at all. Obviously some drivers don’t have all forms of social media/don’t use ones as much as others, but I think all the teams have at least Insta and Twitter so I find it interesting how some were more vocal on one platform and didn’t post anything on the other (mostly saw screenshots from Twitter and checked their instas to not see anything about it). Usually when something big happens, I’ve seen brands (both big and small) make statements on all their platforms. Do you think some of the teams are playing it safe? I feel like some of them are trying to play both sides cuz obviously a lot of the new, younger fans are more diverse and care about social justice issues, so they don’t want to be called out by them for not saying anything. But they also know F1 still has a lot of older white male fans who most likely will call them out for “giving in to being politically correct”. We know this sport has issues, and some have tried addressing it more than others, but idk it just doesn’t sit well with me how EVERYONE is literally so wishy washy on this topic. Like some ppl on here have said, several drivers said they don’t believe taking the knee does anything, it’s all about “action” but none of those drivers have so far come out and said anything. It just shows they don’t believe in what they’re saying cuz if they really felt that this is what I/our team stands for, they’d condone it without any worry of what some will think. They would rather NOT be associated with fans who don’t agree with their philosophy.

I definitely think the teams/drivers/F1 is playing it safe.

I think their PR strategy is "just enough" and I do think that is what it's been in recent years. By that I mean -- just enough to satisfy the newer, younger, diverse fans.

I'm like a himbo but I'm not conventionally attractive, and I don't got a penis between my legs.

Sidenote: I never really trust men anymore except maybe my brothers and a couple of my cousins but that's really it. I'm a home care worker but I have stressful days but I try to work through every single day. I never notice when something stresses me out until I'm up at night playing video games and I start crying cause "I can't win". But um I went in today and I was already peeved cause of having to get up, I didn't eat breakfast(I rarely do) and on top of that the place I go to , the elevator is always stuck(and I got stuck in it like a couple weeks ago) and I ask my client if I could leave early b/c his apartment smelled awful idk how else to say it. I tried to tell him as well but he didn't care about what I was saying and he started throwing a tantrum like a man child does. And yes he is old but I try to be respectful to everyone as much as I can. And he tells me I can't leave early and that just felt like a red flag already. And the fact he's telling me "I can't" made me super uncomfortable and genuinely scared for my life. Because this man starts snapping at me that I can't leave. It just creeped me the hell out and that's when I up and left. I don't like to be rude to people but it's a respect thing if u cannot respect me, then I don't feel comfortable. This isn't the first time he "snapped" acting very very strange. He later on called me in an attempt to call the office. And idk I tried but i don't understand why weirdos always end up obsessed over me or claiming me in some weird manner. Women have done this too. When all I be doing is existing. And I just feel so out of place. And just creeped out I just want to work and go home and I can't even do that b/c my client wants to be a fucking weirdo.

After what happened im genuinely having a hard time breathing b/c i feel sick to my stomach from what happened. And the apartment just smelled absolutely terrible. Im not even trying to be funny it really did. And I still wanted to respect him and just be kind aka do my job. But idk why this man wants to stress me out. I already have enough going on and u wanna throw a tantrum b/c I asked to leave b/c I felt unwell from the smells in this apartment. And then the fact he acted so weirdly when I asked that made me want to leave even more. And now I'm sick to my stomach cause idk if he's gonna ask for a replacement and I'm just gonna show up on Monday but he'll tell me to leave. Before Monday I'll just call before I visit. Cause wtf andddd I have to go to the home care office and it's fucking far away from where I live. I'm just stressed. Wish I had someone to care about me. And actually LISTEN to understand me

seriously though i love dick grayson sm bc he is me and i am him. but i love jason a lot bc i just wanna be there for him ig? smth makes me wanna fix him or be broken with him idk how to put it. so idk who i prefer over the other. also there are just so many. versions? of jason. i cant even say who my favorite is bc i like most of them for vastly different reasons. there are different versions of dick yeah but i think you can kinda sum all of them up with the same baseline story and characterization.

i think the first time i learned about the batfam was when the gotham knights game came out which is kinda late but i never cared too much about dc media until then bc the easiest way to get me interested in something is through a game 😭 but TECHNICALLY the first time i saw nightwing was whenever ppl edited comic panels or smth, same for jason but when i first saw red hood i deadass thought he was deadpool bc of that one panel with the book and the gun… still ashamed of that to this day

but ok so boom i see an ad for gk and im like oo this is cool then nightwing pops up and i’m like WOAHHHH he’s sexy i think i know him! red hood’s in the game too but i didn’t care too much for him until i started playing as him and realized that like. wow that dude is huge. wow he can probably snap me in half with ease. but i think i REALLY started liking jason when i played arkham knight (which is also probably when i was actually first introduced to nightwing now that i think about it but i don’t feel like retyping anything sawry)

why'd i literally never see this?

i'm not a gamer so i'm not super familiar with each games outside of what i know from tumblr and deep dives into wikis. i think i've watched some clips of walkthroughs on tiktok. mostly arkham knight tho because i loooooooooove that whole plot. i have no clue what gotham knights is about tho???

i literally don't even know how i truly found out about nightwing. bc i watched teen titans and teen titans go as a kid and i knew that was robin but i didn't connect...that it was robin from batman and robin??? like i knew it but i never actively thought about it.

i do really love how dick as robin has a lot of content seperate from batman like. i'll cry again but. young justice. aghhhhhhhhhhhh

and i'm not sure when nightwing came into my life but woah. nothing was ever the same. like i've got a smile on my face while i'm typing about this bc i've got a pic of him in my mind and it's got me kicking my feet. he's just so silly and fine. i love him BAD.

for dick i 100% write for young justice dick/nightwing. i love him. i love him bad. i wish he was in more episodes of yj but as the show goes on he appears less and less and ugh my heart.

for jason, i've said this before but it's like a mix of different versions of him. there's a mosaic of him in my head that's a mix of canon and fanon. and bc they just like...reboot him every few years it's hard for me to pick just one.
