Not only do I actually LIKE some of the shit Biden is doing? If Trump gets back in office? People will die. He and his have been OPEN about the fact that they want to go (somehow) even MORE fascist.

the struggle a whump writer — who wants to write their blorbo as canonically accurate as possible — goes through when their blorbo is bulletproof, knifeproof, physically invincible with healing ability that makes any injuries they sustain go away almost immediately in canon, and so trying to Whump them means having to try to come up with convincing reasons why they're hurting now or why bullets can pierce their skin this time or why their healing ability is out of reach in this specific scenario. thus they can feel the pain and are severely injured; it will be a long and difficult road toward recovery, etc.

*I know we could always ignore canon and that's what most of my fics are about, but my mind still needs me to portray them as canonically accurate as I can when it comes to things that aren't about the state of the character's love affair (who they date in canon) or if they're alive in canon. like my brain needs me to write them as 'in character' as possible, and it's a pain in the ass when my brain also sees their 'healing ability' as part of what's 'in character' for my blorbo. sighs.

we live in a society that does not view disabled people as capable adults and every day, we're fighting that stereotype.

keep us, and all of us fighting through corrupt systems that undermine our ability as parents only because we're disabled, in mind.

i mean i wouldn't consider disliking imodna and disliking imogen as equivalent of course. and i don't even think it's a thing of people disliking imogen, bc sometimes you express your love for a character by not shutting up about what you think is wrong with them. but like, it tracks that a lot of the people who see imodna as empty and lacking real connection are the same ones who focus near exclusively on the harm (both real and imagined) that imogen causes others, to the point of seeming deeply disinterested in the harm she’s experienced herself and viewing any acknowledgement of it and its influence on her actions as coddling her.

like if i thought that the takeaway of imogen's story was that she does the things she does because she's selfish and manipulative, as opposed to indecisive and insecure and angry at the world, i would also see her and laudna's relationship as festering with unspoken resentments, stagnant instead of stabilizing. of course imodna doesn't make sense if you brush off the years of isolation and ostracization imogen faced as inessential to her character, and even more so if you think it was justified or largely her fault. because then the core thing that connects her and laudna - finding someone like them for the first time after years of excrutiating loneliness, and being not just accepted but loved for the same things that made them monstrous in the eyes of everyone else - is rendered meaningless.

No because I absolutely loved watching ed fight! For 2 seasons we never saw him fight, he was always making his crew do it, even when was in full kraken mode, he just fires one shot and stands back and let them do the rest.

While in 2x08 he was killing left, right and center! He casually took out two English soldiers, UNARMED and used their rifle to choke them out, in a little rowboat, then he choked and broke someone's neck with ONE fucking hand while holding and READING stedes love letter with the other! Then later, on the beach, he was fighting two soldiers, while two more were coming at him and you can see that he already took out NINE others (yes i went back and counted!) Also when he took someone's rifle and put it on their shoulder and shot someone else.. I can't.. He's a fucking menace! A hot fucking menace!

I just think it's neat he went around slaughtering the English like they're nothing after he hallucinated stede, the love of his life, yelling for help!
