there's something that i should say i've meant to say always and i never have since it's unlikely we'll ever meet again i might as well say it now

When people say "I don't want my child to be exposed to LGBTQ+ media because it will turn them gay" they actually mean "I don't want my child to be exposed to LGBTQ+ media because it might help them realize that they're gay".

This was in response to an old drawing of Jesus with the pride flag. It's not like super articulate because alas the twitter character limit but ya know. I think a lot about those comments

i'm not trying to start anything, but i just saw a post criticizing misha collins for not choosing to quit spn when the network was homophobic and he was "profiting from homophobia" and i just think it's kind of... wild? that young people think that a person could just. decide to not work for a prejudiced corporation when they have a family to provide for?
i don't know, i don't even really want to debate or go into it more, but it's just kind of surreal to see opinions from people who weren't there in 2013 when misha collins was literally the only person willing to support not just destiel shippers but actual queer and trans and ace fans. i have no doubt that he saved lives through the care he showed to vulnerable young people who desperately needed to see someone give a damn about them. he's significantly flawed in many ways, but he will always be a saint in my eyes for how much he cared.
like i just don't think that people accustomed to this modern era where hardly anyone blinks over two men kissing on tv can understand what it was like when we were mocked and silenced, when we weren't allowed to breathe the word 'destiel' without getting booed, and misha was the only damn person who spoke up for us. the only one. who was probably risking his job in saying the things he did.
things have changed. that's wonderful. don't judge people surviving previous eras by the standards of today.

so Idk if this is fandom lore, but while I used to watch and love House while it was airing, it wasn't until yesterday I really started looking into fandom and fanfic...but what's this all about RSL being the biggest Hilson hater, and Hugh Laurie being the biggest Hilson fan about??
basically it’s a running joke in the fandom about a bunch of interviews from during the show’s run in which rsl got super annoyed by anything that could, by any stretch of the imagination, imply hilson. and hugh laurie would always try to shut him up and very directly imply hilson.
from very early on in the show, hugh laurie said that he’d be fine with canon hilson as long as it was well written, and that he expected house to “go through” cameron, cuddy, and wilson if the show were to go on long enough.
rsl, on the other hand, started like a cat every time someone mentioned even the possibility of hilson, which i find hilarious considering it’s partially his fault.
these are the most famous examples:
there are many more examples, both of hugh laurie basically waving a pride flag (quite literally saying “romantic love”) and of robert sean leonard panicking, and then some more of them both being really weird about the whole thing (as in just being strange as people lol).

i really hate that for some reason being against surrogacy is considered homophobic in most spaces. everytime i see an anti-surrogacy post there has to be those comments like "what about gay people 🥺 how will they have kids 🥺"
they can try methods that arent exploitative and don't require purchasing a woman. how dare you think someone is entitled to purchase a womb just because of their inability to have children? pro-surrogacy people are ridiculous, they can barely be reasoned with.
edit: a lot of people opened a discussion about how the adoption industry can be exploitative and "just adopt" isn't a great response. thanks to all the ladies that brought this to my attention 🫶🏾

hey there. if you see art of a guy with boobs being sexy, drawn by a trans artist (yes, ALSO a guy with boobs), and immediately accuse them of fetishization, maybe stop to consider what it is about a guy with boobs being sexy that makes you so uncomfortable. And also, what fetish means.
cause the discomfort youre experiencing is most certainly NOT because of any harmful depiction of transness, from which the trans community surely needs to be protected: youre uncomfortable seeing normal everyday transness (you are transphobic)
trans people exist and boy a lot of us sure do like to be sexy, many of us have boobs, lots of us are fat, and if you are made uncomfortable by any of that then you need to unpack some stuff about yourself. also look up the definition of fetish, idiot.
