Help me! Indians and/or James Potter lovers help me out!!

im a big fan of Desi James and i'm writing a fic at the moment and i want to include affectionate language (pet names) from all of my characters national languages and have been digging for some Hindi terms of endearment for a while and am a little lost.

a lot of the searches are coming up with words but not specifying which Indian language it derives from, and I just don't want to like mix languages and be stupid and inconsiderate about it.

anyway, so far i have "Jaan" or "Meri Jaan" which I understand means "life" or "my life" wich is fucking adorable, as well as "Mera Pyaar" (I've seen a couple of different spelling variations of this so please correct me if it's wrong) which i understand means "my love".

both are very very sweet, and i will be using them! however, i've been looking for terms more like "sweetheart", "pretty", "cutie", "handsome", "baby", and stuff like that. you know, terms that can be used a bit more casually, in the earlier stages of dating / sleeping together, before the love and devotion happens!

anyway, any help would be very appreciated. any terms of endearment you know, any extra information you can give me, anything at all that relates to Desi James that would be helpful for me to know is so appreciated!

also any headcannons you have about Desi James would be awesome! especially ones that like involve his culture and stuff like that. id really like to write him well and give authenticity to his character that i don't naturally just have. i am doing my research where i need too, of course, but if you have little things about him that i could simply just adopt or learn about would be so awesome because like, i wouldn't even know to search for a lot of little things i bet.

headcanon that sirius black hated touch.

upon arriving at hogwarts, the scars that ran across his body reminded him to stay away from others.

yet, james potter had bent that rule.

it started with james ruffling his hair or patting his back that would earn a flinch or hiss from sirius.

and james didn’t know why.

yet he persisted.

james hugged sirius for the first time in their second year when he found sirius crying over a letter he had received from his parents.

it startled sirius at first, yet he was too discombobulated to push james away. he just sank to the floor in james’ arms and sobbed into his shoulder. he was just a child after all.

it’s third year and sirius begins getting lots of attention, mostly from the girls.

he started to step out of his comfort zone when it comes to touch due to the ego boost he’s been granted.

he puts his arm around james and remus and they all walk through the halls, laughing about their own antics.

and one night, remus is the one to stumble upon sirius during their fourth year, a crumpled letter clutched to his chest.

remus bends down in front of him and his hand automatically moves to sirius’ face to pick his head up to look at him.

sirius flinches; remus’ face falls.

the look on remus’ face tells sirius that maybe all touch dosent have to hurt.

and he remembers that every time he’s given a hug from james.

he remembers that every time remus rubs his shoulder.

he remembers it because the little first year he was didn’t.

because now sirius is running his fingers through remus’ hair to comfort him after moons.

now sirius is laying his head in james’ lap while they chat about quidditch.

now sirius can ruffle peters hair after homework help.

and he’s bloody damn proud of it when he’s able to give himself to remus.

because now it’s sixth year and the two are are cuddled up on the couch in the common room.

it never even crosses sirius’ mind about the shattered boy he used to be.

I cannot fucking get over how the Pjo fandom depunkified(for lack of a better term)Percy.Keyword being 'how'-Because in canon,Percy is an actual punk.He grew up poor,getting bullied for being neurodivergent and with an abusive stepdad due to his birth dad abandoning him so that lead to him developing an attitude as a coping mechanism and hating rich people and other privilged groups because he knows from experience how awful they are most of the time but another thing it did to him was making him incredibly kind to minorities especially and a Team Parent to the ones younger than him(those being Nico and Hazel in his case).And i know for a fact that if Rick didn't hate Perachel almost as much as the fandom does,he would've written him as also going to protests and doing charity work with Rachel

But the fandom dosen't ONLY pretend that none of those are traits of his but also says he's punk for headcanons that are either not canon or straight up contradicted by it.He dosen't want to be a god and finds the thought actively distressing because he's scared of his powers and hates authority.The only reasons he treated Nico badly in Hoo and wasn't the Team Mom of the Seven instead of Hazel was that Rick retconned how much he loved him as a brother in the og series because he wanted to torment his first gay character and to adultify his first darkskin black fem mc.He's not a stereotypical guy,he thinks hypermasculinity is gross and weird(see his descriptions of and interactions with Ares)and has a deep respect for all the different women in the franchise,which includes gnc ones.He dosen't dress grunge,he barely got outfit descriptions in the books and when he did,they were just normal clothes.And he's not even a skater boy,him skating was mentioned exactly once in the entire saga and it was in Sea of Monsters,when he was 13 and that book came out over ten years ago,and Piper saying he looks like one dosen't count for jackshit because she also thought she was straight at the time and it showed in her ideas of gender as shown by the Jasiper vs Jeyna fiasco

He doesn't have a middle name.

He has no memories of his mom. Enough to know that she was one of the Harem girls.

He hates Jafar and his birth father for getting him landed on the Isle.

Outside of the Badun Detective Agency, he tends to hang out with Jade, Zoran the Marauder, and Jay.

The reason Reza is such a know-it-all is because he is desperate for approval after how horribly his birth father--the former royal astronomer of Agrabah--treated him.

He was adopted by Aladdin's half brother, Mozenrath, and his wife, Sadira, when he was 8.

He is big into astronomy.

Reza is also resentful of Carlos because Yen Sid so clearly likes him better and everyone thinks he so much smarter.

He just wants to be recognized and remembered.

He has brain damage due to head trauma and had sezuires.

He joined the Badun Detective Agency because his best, Harry Badun, was the one who founded it and because he wants to save other kids like him.

He has written several very strongly worded letters to Auardon. He is unsure if any have reached them.

He and Yzla are a couple. She loves him, flaws and all.

And he feels the same.

He is the forensics and astronomy expert of the agency.

He and Yzla also pull the ol' good cop, bad cop routine.

They are very good at it.

He comforted her after lil' Yaz died and after Zevon went missing.

JAY’S MARAUDERS ERA HEADCANONS PT 1:

James Potter & Remus Lupin

James and Remus = Pan/Bi solidarity

James definitely learned everything he knows about muggles from Remus. (Remus definitely told him some made-up shit to like: “muggles will always tip their hats, even if they aren’t wearing any, but only if they like you” and James gets sad the first few times he meets muggles because they never tip their hats at him.)

While James and Sirius are like brothers, James and Remus aren’t— they’re those type of best friends that flirt with each other constantly and they’re like: “By the time we’re thirty, if we haven’t gotten with Lily/Sirius, let’s get married.”

They make the dirtiest jokes.

Remus says he doesn’t like quidditch, but he just says it because then James gets really excited for the next game so he can prove to Remus that quidditch is an amazing sport.

They never fight. Like ever. Like they argue about stuff— “Trolls are cooler!” “No, Goblins are way cooler!”— but they never have real fights in which they’re both upset.

When Jily and Wolfstar both start dating James and Remus still flirt and hold hands and stuff and Lily and Sirius are like: “Our boyfriend are boyfriends.”

The only real fight they ever had was Remus calling himself a monster and other bad things after ‘The Prank’ and James was pissed at him for thinking of himself in that way.

James and Remus were each other’s first kiss.

When ever James practices asking Lily out, it’s always on Remus and he’ll grab something red, like a sweater or a pillowcase and put it on his hair to look like Lily. It’s a whole show with voices and everything.

Ok I have so many prongsfoot thoughts but I just thought of a fairly canon compliant AU where they get together in Hogwarts:

Sirius is the first to acknowledge his feelings for James as non-platonic. He’d hide it for a while because he’s content with having whatever part of James he can get

James is blissfully unaware and continues to pursue girls. Lily rejects him in fifth year and later on, Sirius moves in with him after running away. All this extra time together causes him to slowly become aware of his not so platonic feelings for Sirius

I think the tipping point would be in their sixth or seventh year when Sirius has a fling with another guy and James just can’t help but meddle and say things like “oh I don’t like him padfoot he’s a git” “he’s not good enough for you” etc. So Sirius is obviously pissed off and asks him “why do you care” and James’ feelings just come tumbling out lmao

Okay THIS! Yesssss oh my gosh I can totally see this happening in cannon it just makes sense. Like, Sirius surpressing and taking what he can get and James just hopping along through life completely oblivious.

And of course once James figures it out he wouldn’t be able to keep it in. If we have his feelings for Lily to go by, James would be trying so hard not to throw his feelings for Sirius out into the world but he’d be so bad at keeping them to himself. He’d struggle. But because they’re best friends Sirius just doesn’t pickup on it because he’s blind to his own feelings.

And then the moment Sirius shows interest in someone new, especially a bloke, James’ jealousy would go haywire. It would be rude comments and snark remarks, he’d be looking on the marauders map for them and interrupting their closet make outs, he’d be pranking the bloke all the time like covering him in goo and putting dung bombs in his pockets and just making him as undesirable to Sirius as possible.

Sirius would get so mad so fast and approach James, yelling about it, “Why are you doing this?! I thought I could trust you!? If you’re just gonna be a homophobic git than you can get fucked!!”

And that’s where it would all come out, “A homophobic git?! A homophobic fucking git?! I’ll have you know I’m quite the fucking opposite you piece of shit!”

“What the fuck are you talking about, James?!”

“I’m queer too, you git!”

“Well than what’s your issue with him?! Why aren’t you happy I’m finally with a bloke?!”

“Cause the bloke is not fucking me!”

“Oooohhh.” Sirius would laugh quite manically at that, “You seriously, out of all the blokes in Hogwarts, want to fuck the one guy I’ve managed to grab for myself? You’re a fucking cunt, James.”

“What?!”

“Come on! I know he and I aren’t anything serious but you can’t just snatch him away from me!”

“What? No!” James would huff and grab onto Sirius’ shoulders, “I want to snatch you away from him, you big idiot!”

“What?” Sirius would mumble, and then James would roll his eyes and pull Sirius into a big fat kiss. And then once all the dots connect in his head he’d melt and mumble, “Oh.” Into the kiss before grabbing onto James and-

Okay, you get it. Basically, I agree! Hope you enjoyed the very mini fic I had no intention of writing though. Seriously it just came out of me.
