Neo-Anthropocene: Pride among plenty of Ikleud, Ruuik, and Human characters

My contribution to this year's pride month and an overall exploration of Ikleud and Ruuik Society. This art piece took me almost the entire month to make, so i hope you all enjoy!

    Introduction to Ikleud-Ruuik society

    Throughout history, the Ikleudd and Ruuikk would slowly and peacefully unite under a single banner. This world government would reach out to the stars and find a name for itself. Now in the year 3166, Most Ikleudd and Ruuikk live under a vast and technologically advanced interstellar civilization known as the Vei'uz-Idverou

    This civilization takes pride in peace and diversity. Reluctant to fight one another due to their strong sense of empathy. Wars were few and far between in Ikleud and Ruuik history.

    Most Ikleud-Ruuik cultures value color and the self. Wearing vibrant clothing, patterns, body modifications, and fascinating performances are core aspects of most of their cultures. And society within the Vei'uz-Idverou promotes unbound love for other cultures.

    This created a deep desire to find intelligent life beyond Irou. This desire was so great it led to the creation of entire government divisions dedicated to diplomacy with alien civilizations and the uplifting of the Ruuikk.

    This desire to find an alien intelligence would finally be satiated 6 years ago. When the Vei'uz-Idverou initiated first contact with the United Federations of Mankind. Now with the cooperation of humanity, these two civilizations and three species shall all work together to build a utopian society for all sophont life.

    Below is a detailed exploration of each character and scene in this art piece, ordered by the numbers each scene is given.

1) Nmmk’kt H’rkt-Vyk’aa, C’iyyct Z’O’cto-Araak’t, and Chooli Peshlakai

    Vyk’aa is a receptive and charming male Ruuik ordained by a set of cybernetic antennae to enhance the way they express themself. They’re astronomy and romantic partners with Araak’t, a creative and outgoing Ruuik with a strong sense of fashion; he is ordained by a ring of traditional glasses to compensate for his poor vision while still looking fancy.

    Seen here they go on a walk with their new friend Chooli, a practical and orderly human with a natural sense of leadership. She moved here from an arid colony owned by the Technate of Naldooshia. She is also lesbian and hopes to one day find a partner from any walk of life. They all Live on an O’neil Cylinder in orbit of a ringed venusian planet, managed by the Prevauu-Unta’tuou, a faction that specializes in scientific progress and research

2) Castel Reyes and Nostahna Obnaah-A’zezul

    Castel, the adventurous and courageous human that was on the frontier of space exploration, who initiated first contact with the Ikleud and Ruuik. Now lives on planet Irou to learn about the native wildlife, work as a translator and help operate the cultural and information trade. During this time they met A’zezul, a compassionate and inquisitive Ikleud who works on the same job and was a former xeno-ecologist. They are Intersex as they were born with and still have both sets of genitalia. Their love for alien life eventually laid the groundwork for their relationship. Irou, and a long branch of stars spanning several thousand light years are governed by the Irou-Ir’tuou, a state within this civilization that specializes in diplomacy with both the other client states and alien civilizations.

3) Kidana omaria-t'pim and Orim O’Tanahas

    T’pim is a Warm, Protective, and curious Ikleud who is somewhat introverted. They’ve identified themself as Non-Binary. And their pursuit of knowledge led them to working at a library. They are in a relationship with Orim, a quiet yet compassionate human who is pansexual. Being on the Autism spectrum, learning about Ikleud-Ruuik culture quickly became one of his special interests which prompted him to move to T’pim’s home, which was something T’pim could help out a lot with.

    Tpim and Orim both live on a frontier world that became a diplomatic center and hub for human immigration. It is maintained by the Aghaash-Ipa’Idertuou, a client state that specializes in environmentally friendly industry.

4) Avoul Nauuva-Besemn and X'uryynct sn'U'nkt-Kr'Cyta

    Besemn is a charismatic and enthusiastic Ikleud who’s an apprentice of Kr’Cyta, a caring and organized Ruuik minister. Besemn identifies as gender fluid while Kr’Cyta uses a unique set of neopronouns that utilizes past & future tense. They both live on a terraformed super-earth and frequently travel to its terraformed moons. The world is administered by the Osvuonn-Uveik’Ituou, a pseudo-religious client state that oversees the relations and cooperation of different religions. And they both follow a religion theorizing all life in the universe originates from the detaching arms of an urchin-like deity.

5) O’pktaa Jc’T’uss-Zsunut and Yct’urr As’ctl-N’ctwoh

    Zsunut is an insightful and realistic female Ruuik. Standing at 1.21 meters 4 feet tall, she’s a member of one of the largest Ruuik breeds, and is from a historically minor culture that used metal piercings as a rite of passage. She is in a lesbian relationship with N’ctwoh, an approachable and open-minded Ruuik. Standing at only 0.45 meters 1.5 feet tall who is a member of one of the smallest Ruuik breeds.

They are both Agroforestry farmers on an oceanic planet terraformed by the Una’Ktoo-Enfu’Idtuou, a superstate that specializes in preserving endangered cultures and resurecting ancient Ikleud-Ruuik civilizations

6) Zwavzum Amhaat-Ivunuu and Mautoo Vontana-Evheta

    Ivunuu is a flamboyant and very energetic male Ikleud who is very romantical. He identifies as bisexual and acts somewhat femininley. By almost complete contrast, his lifelong friend Evheta is a logical and humble male Ikleud. He is transgender, Asexual, and Aromantic. They both live on one of many terraformed moons orbiting a large neptune-like ice giant. All of which are managed by the Ansalash-Alevurr’Tuou, a client state known for their artistry and extravagant everyday life.

    Depicted here they both enjoy a dinner of roasted fruit slices and tubers after a long day of Hashuu’flaa, a state-wide holiday that celebrates the arts of the body.

Posting my favorite snippets of art from Crowley’s Coven.

It’s easy as an artist to go back and knit pick all the “mistakes” we make and feel that wonderful imposter syndrome slide on in. So easy, in fact, that’s all some of us do.

Thus it is very important to celebrate what you’re happy about too, while also acknowledging what you could’ve done better next time.

I’m very pleased with how the characters are entwined, giving them visual heft. I want Crowley to look like he’s being HELD. I want Aziraphale to feel put upon by these witches and then him obsessively touching his Crowley when the hot chocolate hits!

And the witches are so insane and gorgeous with their grabby hands and instant nudity whenever the whims…whims them?

Anyway!

Celebrate your art! Celebrate everything you create and be proud. It’s one of the most human things we can do.
