Meet Earnest C. Clown, the neighborhoods favorite jokester!
Rambling under the cut
They were always telling cheesy jokes, and they had segments to help teach kids about the importance of enjoying things even if you're not good at them. Life doesn't have to be boring, so why not add some whimsy into even the most mundane situations?
Goofing around often resulted in breaking things, so they also helped show that there's no point in beating yourself up over mistakes so long as you own up to it and try to be better tomorrow.
Due to their clumsy nature, they often ended up as the butt of the joke, and the series worked on teaching how to set boundaries and stand up for yourself when things go too far, and how mutual understanding with open communication can help strengthen friendships.
At the end of Earnest's segments, they'd tell the kids watching to give themselves a biiiig hug, because it's incredibly important to love yourself for who you are.
The puppet itself was usually only shown from the torso up. The rubber nose squeaked when squeezed.
There was a special puppet attached to a unicycle that was used in a special. The bike was weighted so it could ride without the puppeteer worrying about balancing the puppet.

In which Human-Grim has to take care of our NRC-Boys-As-Animals, and has a time of it.
This was a lot of fun to do, a lot of the characters already had animal motifs, others where very hard to come up with an animal equivalent. Still not particularly happy with some of my choices, but c’est la vie. Also been a hot minute since I've spent this long on a drawing. Twisted Wonderland has me in an absolute vice grip, consumes most of my waking thoughts, clears my skin, waters my crops ... I'm tired and starting to not make sense. I shall end my inane ramblings here.
