-when people ask hank why she goes by hank and not her "real name," (which i like to headcanon is "henrietta") she always says, "oh it's actually a really funny story, i'll tell you later," and the later never comes lmao. or, if she does tell you, it's some made up wacky story that actually has nothing to do with giving herself the name hank. the real reason? she just likes it

-speaking of "henrietta," this story, 'if you know where to look' by ghost_teeth, works so fucking well with a lot of my headcanons about how their characters would be like genderbent! highly recommend it, and all their dbh stories honestly!

-connie has a compact gun (i asked my brother for examples and he said sig p365 or springfield hellcat, which i think work perfectly for this) holstered inside her jacket on the left side. also, i'm stealing this idea from this post (which basically almost has the same design for fem!connor (altho like, most designs for her are basically the same lmao)) but she also has a knife strapped to her thigh

-her skirt is actually made of some super high tech flexible and durable material, and she's got specific programming to make her balance crazy good, since she'll be running in heels. she's made to hunt and pursue deviants so obviously she needs to be able to run and jump. the outfit is only made to appear like a standard "business woman" to blend in with the humans she would be required to work with, but otherwise gives her everything/doesn't hold her back from doing what she needs to complete her mission. here's a bonus conversation i had with @extraordinaryandroid about it lmaoo:

-hank met connor-51 first for the ortiz case, but connie-52 (with 51's memories of course) came in the next day when it was announced they were to be officially paired to investigate deviants. cyberlife has their grubby lil hands in everything so of course they knew their RK800 unit would be paired with this lieutenant anderson before basically anyone else, and deemed that she'd get along better with a "female model" that she would find attractive. which of course has hank like WOW that's super weird and gross of y'all! and i fucking hate that it's working you pieces of shit at cyberlife !!!! but ofc connie's like "im a machine i dont even have a gender" all the while hank's sweatin major thirsty bullets

-at the cyberlife tower, connor-51 is the one to hold hank at gunpoint. how did he get hank to trust him? idk i haven't figured that out yet lmao, but the angst of connor-51 essentially taking the place of -60 from the game in the sense that he's clearly deviant in some capacity, in this context being that he feels connie stole the life he deserved (which he'd never admit) and now wants to suck up to cyberlife and be their best boi to feel important and special again and not knowing they'd just throw him away for the RK900 model, is very good imo. that was a very long sentence so i hope it made sense lmaoo. have i worked out all the details of how all that shit would work in a story? absolutely not, im too busy thinking about butch fem!hank making her robo girlfriend bluescreen in the bedroom 🤪

It’s been a while since my last proper update in January. I am recovered from illness and mostly back to normal; with the days getting longer and actually having sunlight now, it’s easier to stay focused than it was in the winter. A lot of developments have happened in the interim, so I’m hoping this dev log will serve to get you caught up on things I’ve been keeping under wraps until now.

✦ The Public Build

A new patch should be coming sometime in March to fix lingering bugs and issues in Episode 2. This patch will require a full restart of the game. Once it releases, you should not use old saves otherwise you may encounter continuity errors and bugs in later episodes.

✦ The Alpha Build

Work on the next alpha update is progressing. I am still writing slower than I usually do, but I am coming up on the end of a major branch. There should be a new alpha release later in March that will cover one half of Episode 3 Part 1.

Even though not all possible routes will be included, the update will add over 300,000 words of new playable content to the game.

✦ Development Changes

Until recently, Wayfarer was planned to be a free game. This is no longer the case. Though I am not ready to announce the full details yet, the game will be eventually be moving to a free demo + paid full game model later in its development cycle.

Act 1 (which includes the Prologue and Episodes 1-3) will remain free to play. Future pricing for non-Patreon early access to later episodes while the game is in development is TBD.

Because this change impacts some behind-the-scenes things, I am need to gauge how much of Wayfarer’s playerbase plays the game on their phone versus a computer.

My last post got me thinking a bit more on how one might interpret Willow's relationships in the early seasons when coming at it with the perspective of her being a lesbian, rather than bisexual.

Willow had a crush on Xander from the start. Xander is her oldest (and possibly only) friend. They've known each other their whole lives, they always have fun together, and they love each other to death.

As I mentioned in my previous post, it is very easy to conflate this kind of dynamic with romantic/sexual attraction. You know you want this person to be in your life forever - isn't that what romance is? Wouldn't it be so nice to just marry them?

Let's put it this way. So you don't have many friends. The other girls are all really mean to you, so you hate them about as much as they hate you. You haven't had a close relationship with another girl since before puberty (if ever). You missed out on the slumber parties and other little moments of closeness with girls that could have clued you in that you're attracted to them.

Because of your social ostracization and general tendency to stay inside studying, you may be going into your second year of high school without ever having felt attracted to a single real life person.

At the same time, you know that everybody else is feeling it. They talk about it all the time. You must be feeling it to. You see guys on TV and think, "Oh, he's nice to look at." You always feel happy and comfortable around your best friend. That's it, right? That's what the buzz is about?

Another huge thing I don't see brought up too much anymore is the way Willow's pre-Tara relationships center almost entirely around validation.

Willow wants to be loved. She wants to be valued. She wants to be seen as attractive. Xander is constantly talking about how hot other girls are. Why can't he see her that way? Why can't any guy? Xander would see a girl he hates as an object of sexual desire before Willow.

The desire to be seen, to be desired can easily warp into a sort of obsession. But wanting to be wanted by a person is not the same as being attracted to them. And herein lies much of the trouble between her and Xander. She wants to be wanted by Xander, but does she want him? No, says season 3.

And now we come to Oz. This is another relationship that is almost entirely focused on validation for Willow. It's a big part of what makes it really, really fun to watch. From the second he first lays eyes on Willow, he's hers.

Oz is like everything Willow ever wanted. He's a cool attractive senior who's in a band and has a van. And he really, really wants her. He's also very smart, easy to talk to, and fun to be around.

It's a very low pressure relationship in terms of the physical. Oz craves meaningful connection, sees sexual activity as an expression of that connection. He encourages her to slow down, to not force it. He's chill. He'll wait. In short - it's not a relationship where passion is a requirement.

They go on several dates without Oz ever kissing Willow. Willow's first attempt to kiss Oz has him rejecting her because he can tell she's just trying to pacify her Xander-induced insecurities.

In his speech, Oz expresses openly how much he wants to kiss Willow. How he fantasizes about her in class. How much he wants to be the object of her desire as well. And Willow melts.

But her reaction is focused around (finally) being desired. It doesn't have much to do with Oz and who he is. She wants him to want her. That he's a cool guy she can brag about to her friends is a great bonus.

And don't take that last bit in the wrong way - it's wonderful Willow got to have that. It was innocent and sweet. The kind of guy she never imagined would be interested in her falling head over heels? It's pretty much every dorky girl's fantasy. Of course she's flattered and flustered and excited.

And what does Willow do when she has her dream guy? She cheats on him. Her affair with Xander can be seen as her being overwhelmed by this powerful attraction she's felt to him for years. Hormonal teenagers being idiots.

Many have suggested the thing with Xander can't align with lesbian!Willow. I disagree. Under this lens, Willow can't tell the difference between her feelings for Oz and her feelings for Xander because they aren't meaningfully different. She is able to cheat, depsite it being pretty against her character, because neither relationships carry the emotional weight they should.

The fling with Xander was a meaningless indulgence of a childhood fantasy. It was largely powered by (apologies for the repetition) wanting to be wanted. Xander, who's always overlooked Willow, was fucking up his relationship with Cordelia goddamn Chase to make out with Willow. That'd be pretty addictively validating.

Even after it blew up and Xander was single, there was never a choice between him and Oz for Willow. No conflict, Oz all the way. She felt dumb for even jeopardizing it.

But she did jeopardize it. Possibly an indication that even though their relationship was literally everything Willow could have asked for, there was still something missing?

Their sex life is also somewhat removed from sexual desire. When she attempts to initiate sex, it isn't about her attraction to him. She wants Oz to know she loves him, that he's special to her.

When they do have sex, it direct follows Willow's speech about there being so much she wanted to try after high school and how she's scared she might never get to. It isn't passion between the two characters that motivates the consummation, but Oz giving Willow the only thing he can in that moment. The chance to have a new and important experience.

Willow enjoyed it. They cuddle happily in the afterglow and Willow describes the experience as "nice."

Let's take a leap forward to Tara. Due to network restrictions, there's more limits on what the viewer is able to see of their relationship. The magic substitutes the physical, especially in season 4.

Those moments are intimate, sensual, very intense. They're deeply passionate.

Their connection is powerful. And it's entirely about each other. It's everything that was missing from Willow's relationship with Oz.

Lesbian Jock / Pint-sized Powerhouse: Our hero Kaz is a physically strong woman, who's 5'2 on a good day.

Creepy Cemetery: Played straight and deconstructed. Kaz is a caretaker at a cemetery that's frequented by locals. It's a lovely place that offers historical tours ... and ghosts.

Horror doesn't settle for simple Tuesday: The climax of the book occurs on Halloween night, naturally.

Lesbians kinda annoy the fuck out of me

Now listen, I not trying to be homophobic in any way because I myself love women, but there's something about them that pisses me off.

Woman obsessed. Sure liking women is an requirement, but the obsession. Literally any women that apparently has the 'female graze' they collective go crazy over, especially is they present themselves as lesbians. It feels like they just like them because of that reason. Ask them anything about their character or they work they do they know nothing. She just hot, bonus points if their gay so they like her... I just...

Everything is about how hot a girl is or lesbain couples. Sure, a straight person would act the same for a man, but that's still so annoying. No, I don't want to hear about the couple on tiktok you like because their gay. No I don't want to talk about how attractive this Olympic athlete is, just because their are women.

Bi girls aren't included. Bi girls are written as lesbain. Lesbian are better than bi girls because they don't like men. Fuck men. Like I thinks this explains alot.

Also the man hating. I don't think everyone does it, but the ones I've been lucky enough to interact with also have something negative to say about men or a husband of a pretty girl. Remember pretty girl.

Anyways this is just my thoughts and I'm open to hearing your opinions on the topic.

Every year I have this idea that I'm going to plan this out and write something profound. But it really just comes down to a few things, doesn't it?

❤️ There is no timeline (or requirement!) for coming out. Some people shout it from the rooftops immediately and some people keep it as their business forever. Both are valid and correct.

Ask yourself: Do I want to? Do I feel safe to do so? Do I have a plan if it all goes sideways?

🧡 Perhaps the most important point: nobody, and I mean NOBODY, gets to make that decision for you. That choice is yours and yours alone. Family, friends, partners, coworkers, teachers should never pressure you to come out.

💛 There is no timeline for “figuring it out”. Some folks just know and others figure it out later. Neither one is wrong. There’s zero shame in learning your sexuality in your 30s, 50s, hell even your 80s. The only “correct” time is when you say so.

💚 That being said… it can change! And that’s perfectly fine. No one would blink an eye because one day you declare you now like brownies instead of chocolate chip cookies. Or both. You learn more about yourself, you grow, you make more informed decisions. It’s all a process.

💙 Labels not required. Am I Gay/Lesbian? Bi? Queer? Aro? Whatever you decide, and are comfortable with, is a-ok. Even if that means no label at all. First and foremost you’re you. Not your preferences.

💜 A Special Lil note for the allies and supporters and others: This goes for anyone, but particularly those who didn’t figure things out (or feel like they could be open about it) until later. I say this as something of a late bloomer myself. Crying over Heartstopper? Suddenly adding all kinda rainbow merch to their house/vehicle/wardrobe? Going to Pride events? Making or sharing more pointed social media posts?

Yeah, they figured out they’re [insert label here]. Great, good for them but you’re sooooo over it. They’re X years old, why do all this now??? Like chill already.

Nope. You chill. Some of us are legit getting to experience this side of ourselves for the first time ever. And sometimes that is decades in the making. We’re unpacking a lot. Before We Disappear by Shaun David Hutchinson (review/rec)

Genre: Historical Fantasy

My rating: 7/10

Alright, now we’re on to books that maybe not everyone know about! Shaun David Hutchinson has been one of my favorite authors since I read one of his first books, We Are The Ants, when it came out in 2016. I will probably be reviewing each of his books at some point or another as nearly all of his books are about LGBTQ+ people and only a handful of his main characters are ever hetero cis and as a bonus he usually includes people of color and/or queer people of color, and disabled people to his stories.

This one features two boys, Jack and Wilhelm, both of which are gay. Other queer or potentially queer characters to note include Ruth and Jessamy they are both lesbians or possibly bi. Lucia, presumably a woman, also often wears men's clothing.

Jack and Wilhelm work as assistants for rival magicians at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific World’s Fair Exposition in 1909. Jack, a talented thief, assists the Enchantress and at times steals tricks from other people for her to perform. At the fair, he sees Laszlo, an amazing magician with impossible tricks. After some digging, he discovers that behind it all is a boy named Wilhelm, and he can perform a real sort of magic and that he does not assist Laszlo by choice. The pair fall in love, and Jack must find a way to free Wilhelm but in doing so he will turning his back on the Enchantress, the woman who took him in when he had nowhere else to go.

The thing that I really love about Hutchinson’s works is that the focus is never really on the fact that the characters are gay or queer. Instead, the characters typically just accept how they are and move on with the story. He doesn’t write coming-out stories or anything like that. So, I would say that this story is actually about manipulation and abuse, trust, found homes, and what freedom means.

See, while Laszlo is an absolute piece of shit, abusive “guardian” to Wilhelm that is definitely not above horrendous acts, the Enchantress is not wholly in the clear either. She uses Jack and while both seem to care about their wards in some sort of way, neither treat Wilhelm and Jack well. The dichotomy between the two magicians is something to behold. Wilhelm also has to trust Jack with a lot of secrecy, that he will stay safe as they go behind the Enchantress’s and Laszlo’s backs, and that Jack knows what he’s doing and can help Wilhelm escape. Jack has to put his trust in Wilhelm that he knows what’s best for himself and that his friends will pull through for him. Both Jack and Wilhelm have to define for themselves what home is and what it would like if they were to leave the magicians. To them, leaving would mean stepping away from everything and everyone they know.

Seeing Jack and Wilhelm as foils for each other through the lens of what their freedom looks like is was interesting to see as well. Jack is practically required to be devoted to the Enchantress mentally. He is allowed to have a life and friends outside of his job, but he is constantly at the Enchantress’s beck and call. He’s ready to risk his life for her, follow her around the world, and do whatever she asks out of both gratitude and admiration. Wilhelm on the other hand, is trapped physically. He doesn’t like Laszlo at all, but he has no choice other than to do as he’s been ordered. Both are under some sort of confinement by the adults that raised them, but in different ways.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. However, I will admit that Wilhelm and Jack were possibly a little too perfect to each other. We didn’t get to see them mess up with each other often, but again, I don’t think that that was the point of the book, so I’m not too upset.

I wouldn’t say that it’s the very best of Shaun David Hutchinson’s books, that would probably go to his memoir, Brave Face, but more on that at a different time. Before We Disappear was a solid book and a good read.

I should mention that this book does come with a fair number of trigger warnings such as: physical abuse, emotional abuse, and gaslighting. All of which are listed on his website. The physical abuse can be quite graphic at times. There is also some racism and homophobia.

Drew my persona with Otto again!!

Originally drew the sketch after some graduation required state testing I had to take earlier this month (let's all hope I passed or else I need to do good on SATs oops) and at first I wasn't exactly planning to finish the sketch buuuuuut things changed. I worked on this on and off as a stress relief. School's just been busy again especially since the 3rd marking period ended a week ago and now I'm in the final stretch.

Though some school work as calmed down with the start of the 4th and final marking period thst makes room for more testing oops. I have my APUSH test coming up Friday which is yeah. I'm trying not to worry about it. It would be nice to pass and get the credits but tbh even if I don't pass it'll still look good that I even took the class. I got some state testing later in the month but I don't have to worry about that since those aren't graduation requirement abd I'm pretty sure we only take them because the school is stuck in a contract. Last test in May thst I can think of is my driver's test. My mom forgot to cancel my appointment so looks like that's happening now. If I fail I see it coming and if I pass run cause I'll probably be a road hazard. That should be all until finals week in June.

Learned while finishing this up it's lesbian visibility week. Soooo upon learning that I just added my flags. did you learn anything particular from this year of writing? i was going to suggest writing long stories but apparently youve been doing that for years!

I think I've learned to cut out a lot of the chaff from stories. I think this is the year of (and this will sound hilarious given WHAT I wrote this year) being less self-indulgent. but on a technical level, not a subject matter level.

I've seen a lot of posts about how Real Writing requires a lot less lingering, a lot less of the indulgence that is common in fic, because one of the many things fic can do is to provide those things that we all feel emotionally are missing from a story.

when i read that post i kind of stopped and thought about what I would cut from, for instance, KTOWL or TES to trim that chaff. And I know immediately what I'd have to cut, but at least with KTOWL, I already marked a lot of that as "bonus" content anyway. besides the sexy bonus chapters, I need to tighten up act one, and i think lose two scenes in act two, but otherwise?

I have talked a lot about how I'm kind of at a point skill-wise where I'm very confident in the things I do well while also knowing pretty well what I need to tighten up and work on. I think 2022 was the year of learning to self-edit and to write as expediently as possible.

I know how to do rich, dense, florid prose to put a precise image in the reader's head, to evoke a sense of taste or smell. my food porn is fucking legendary at this point.

but I have now also learned that a very powerful tactic in writing is to stagger between doing the Rich Velvet Prose and the expedience. using both in a story allows you to textually punch the reader in the jaw, which I find extremely fun. when KTOWL Dirk explains early in the story that every fight needs to be less than 15 seconds, that became a talisman to invoke both in universe and in the technique.

outside that, i also figured out what I want when I write Rose, and that (this is painful to admit) I don't have anything interesting to contribute to Rosemary as a ship, even though I could talk all fucking day about how much I love it in canon. but with both of those characters, when I want to challenge them and to write them as people who are still very much In Progress, that necessitates having them collide with other people. which makes me sad! but I pretty much only like writing Rose when she's a fucking disaster lesbian and I tend to like Kanaya's interactions with a broader cast.

and tbh my 'ship' this year for rose was undoubtedly Rose+Jake as mean bitchy queers and That Whole Fucking Thing I stumbled into with Karkat+Rose in the fallout AU. which was an actual accidental self-doxx, yeah.

Actually I take this back a huge appeal of Ryoko/Chiaki is the context it provides for Chiaki’s multiple brutal murders. Ryoko fell in love and Junko used it as a tool to bring herself even deeper down the rabbit hole by punishing her lover for ever coming close to her. And it’s got the bonus of paralleling the relationships between Chiaki and Hajime/Izuru!

And of course, alternatively, AU where Ryoko never regains her memories: taking care of someone on the level that Ryoko requires would force Chiaki to be much more attentive to the world around her. But it’s worth it because she loves her! And that’s cute.

Chihiro/Tenko

I do genuinely think Chihiro’s hang ups with gender and her own identity as she explores herself (Am I a he/him lesbian? Am I a straight girl? Am I nonbinary? The gamit that every trans teen runs through as they figure it all out) could, as engaging with gender and sexuality often does for the people in an immediate friend group, really open Tenko’s eyes up to the complexity of gender and help her address some of her own internal biases. Chihiro and Tenko realizing together they don’t want to be strong/hate men, they just have a lot of opinions about toxic masculinity! Tenko and Chihiro exploring pronouns! Tenko Goes Butch. The hits simply keep coming

They get along SO WELL in UTDP/Summer Camp. Chihiro’s gender stuff opening Tenko’s eyes is canonical in the world where they know each other. Because they just like each other so much! Chihiro is small and cute and Tenko’s type, and Tenko is buff and loud and Chihiro’s type!! They have their issues but what teens don’t! Tenko forces Chihiro to verbalize her problems and Chihiro helps Tenko think more deeply.

WDW_Pro has a whistleblower who informs him of this. The whistelblower turned over PowerPoint slides of various woke sermons employees were required to attend.

According to the whistleblower:

Since the summer of 2020, employees at Disney were required to keep DEI "virtue diaries" documenting their actions in service of the cause.

Their continuing employment, opportunities for advancement, bonuses and salary increases were all dependent on showing this "virtue diary" and documenting all the DEI meetings and conferences they attended. In other words, if you wanted to keep your job, you were required to participate in the DEI indoctrination sessions.

The whistleblower further reveals that when the "My Not-So-Secret-Gay Agenda" videos from Disney's woke "Reimagine Tomorrow" initiative were leaked, former "Chief Diversity Officer" Thon Newton issued the official corporate lie that these videos were "fake news" and instructed Disney employees to deny that they were real.

The whistleblower then revealed that if Disney's DEI Police saw a Disney employee making any kind of traditionalist or conservative statement online, that person would be summoned to a Human Resources "meeting" and demanded to explain why they transgressed against the one true faith.

WDW_Pro notes that this intolerable intolerance had the desired effect of driving away almost all conservative-leaning or committed Christian workers at Disney.

Disney, if these reports are true, purged all of its conservative-leaning people -- but still insists its movie are "for everybody" and that any conservative who chooses to boycott this vicious Marxist indoctrination factory is a bigot or prude.

The whistlebower says that Thon Newton also instituted a policy in which any minority -- a member of the DEI coalition -- must be seriously considered for any job he or she applied for, even if he lacked the very most basic, essential requirements for the job. Even for highly technical positions, job prerequisites were waved for DEI candidates.

The whistleblower also revealed that Disney changed its bonus payment schedule for jobs like advertising sales. Where previously your bonus was just based on how much advertising space you sold, Disney changed it MBO (Management by Objective) system to include bonuses for such things as "Championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," rather than actually increasing the value of the company and stockholder value. To receive qualify for this bonus, you were required to attend their biweekly diversity indoctrination sessions. (And note it in your "virtue diary," I assume.) WDW_Pro provides pictures of what the whistleblower says are Disney's corporate materials specifying these special bonuses-for-being-leftwing.

My brain has helpfully dredged up some OCs from yet another one of my failed NaNo attempts to help with my Sicktember effort and, while the story never came to fruition (THAT whole story would necessitate an even longer infodump), I'm still really in love with the characters

I wrote about them on here before, but I changed their names because at the time I really thought I was On To Something and Going To Publish This Novel and I didn't want to deal with any potential ramifications of All That

Re-introducing Santi and Gaël, my college roommates to best friends to lovers boys with different but compatible familial traumas

Santi: bro-y Sunshine Boy who will do anything for a laugh as long as it's at his own expense. Classical guitar prodigy using college to hide from the real world as he recovers from a childhood of controlling, wealthy parents and an extra bonus dose of Internalized Racism.

Gaël: neurotic everyman seeking passion and connection and, above all, a sense of identity. Growing up in foster homes and finding himself parent-ified at every turn, he's now feeling lost and hoping to find himself. (His mother died during childbirth and his father's subsequent mental collapse rendered him unfit to raise a child. He's recently reached out to Gaël and wants to connect).

Santi is of mixed Spanish and Indigenous heritage and a little under 6 feet tall. People often mistake him for being taller than he is because he has wide shoulders and a huge personality. He has fluffy brown hair that bleaches in the sunlight, warm brown skin, and light brown eyes. And he dresses like a stoner.

Gaël is Afro-Latino and of totally average height, with a slender, boxy build. He has 4C black hair (longer on top with an undercut), dark skin, and deep brown eyes. He dresses like a young butch lesbian who just wandered into the men's section at Target for the first time. :)

The novel I was writing was originally going to be a reincarnation story with dual, parallel narratives, but I realized really quickly that writing historical fiction of this caliber carries a weight and responsibility that I wasn't ready to take on. (Like don't get me wrong I wasn't about to write a racist Opressor/Oppressed white colonizer power fantasy, I just realized I was stepping into territory that, like I said, required a level of diligence and education that I didn't possess at the time).

So now they're just Dudes In College.

Anyway.

I like to write about mixed characters :) I'm not a big "media consumption as a hobby" person but I do wonder how different my mindset would have been growing up if I had seen more mixed representation in the books and TV shows I liked

The Bear (TV 2022)

Carmy and Sid hooking up would be a TERRIBLE idea, professionally speaking, and probably also emotionally speaking. I want to read about the ways that it could go wrong and why they do it anyway. Do they keep it a secret? Do they fail at keeping it a secret? Is it incredibly obvious to the rest of the crew?

I’ve read a lot of very sweet fics where they fall in love and all is great, and those are wonderful, but I think messy power dynamics are hot and interesting and they’ve got bad idea written all over them.

Bonus bonus points if you engage with what food, cooking and meals mean to both of them.

Barbie (Movie 2023)

Let Barbie be gay!!!! Greta Gerwig was trying to tell us something with all that Indigo Girls and Birkenstock and I wanna read someone picking up what she’s putting down. Barbie’s first gay hookup! Barbie’s first, third and fifteenth u-haul! What does it mean for an idea that’s an icon of heterosexuality to become a person who…isn’t straight!

SO i have two main ocs, floryn and rory (both she/her) they’re both queer and to keep it veryyyy short: floryn is very creative, extroverted and wild and rory is very athletic/physically strong, introverted and cool & collected (the one with a braincell out of the duo) ofc they’re a lot more complex than that but i don’t wanna keep this too long kabdjsksal

at the start of the story theyre friends and they start crushing on eachother, it’s not really slowburn i think but it’s not very quickly either

i also wanna make more friends for them but i haven’t done that yet aljskajs

the only other character i have is a boy and he’s an asshole. basically he has a crush on floryn and somehow finds out that rory has a crush on her too, that makes him upset because he was just about to go on a date with flo and he kinda sees rory as a threat bc he knows they’re close friends (and maybe he also has a past bullying rory so he knows it would ruin his chances with floryn if she found out abt him being mean to rory). so he locks rory into a locker (but don’t worry - the person who the locker belongs to gets her out pretty quickly and they become besties) to prevent her from talking to flo. then he goes on what he thought was a date with floryn and she tells him she just likes him as friend. a bit later floryn finds out that he was an asshole to rory and slaps him in the face <3 and then he’s upset and does a dramatic reveal that rory has a crush on floryn, expecting her to be disgusted bc it turns out he’s homophobic as well, but plot twist: floryn is actually very openly and confidently lesbian/bi (haven’t decided yet) and is super excited because she has a crush on rory too. then she slaps him in the face again for being homophobic <3 and rory and floryn go on a date or something cute and end up in a relationship :DD it might be kinda boring and weird and basic and i don’t even know but i just want some simple drama that ends up with a wlw romance <33 and that’s only a very basic outline anyways, there’s probably a lot that’ll happen before and afterwards :D

and to get bonus points, my main inspirations are 1. heartstopper (that made me realise how much i crave a cute wlw story, i know there are a lot but i just wanted to make my own i guess) 2. (the most recent one that lead me to actually come up with this) jackson’s diary, it’s also a webcomic and there’s always a lot going on and it’s dramatic but not too dramatic and idk i’ve just been feeling very inspired by it, also in terms of art so MAYBE i’m gonna make a comic out of this but probably not because that requires sooo much work akshkajs. anyways, inspo numero 3. sleeping beauty, kinda but not really? at the start i wanted it to be an entirely different story as a wlw modern retelling of sleeping beauty but then i began adding a lot of own twists and it got so chaotic i’m kinda scrapping it for now and came up with something completely different (one thing that remains though is that rorys full name is actually aurora :0 but everyone calls her rory so it doesn’t matter that much, but still a little easter egg for myself <3)
