Chernabog and Overblot (aka incoherent thoughts)

Chernabog appears in Fantasia along with Yen Sid (literally the shadowy figure we see in the current birthday/Disney 100 background) in two separate pieces

So in TWST Canon, Chernabog exists as a bygone historical figure who is always brought up by Malleus.

Mentions: Dorm Trial Admission in the official website (he refers to himself as Chernabog's descendant) and Malleus' Halloween SR (he would make Chernabog the inspiration of the Diasomnia Halloween costume but knows Lilia would complain).

It got me thinking, because we are still in the Ruler of the Abyss chapter on how the heck is Malleus even expending copious amounts of magic while Overblotting and still visibly not turning into something like the Overblotted dwarf in the prologue. Probably aside from being one of the strongest mages, he has his ancestry in Chernabog to boot.

Chernabog could be the origin of Overblot with how he can guide, control, and reshape phantoms at will (seen in Fantasia) as we can see that all the Overblot phantoms so far are incredibly messed up versions of the OG Disney Villains.

We have the Dark Mirror commenting on the "shape of your soul" before it says what dorm you belong to.

What if the reason why in TWST these villain phantoms behind the Overblotees are twisted to begin with is because Chernabog reshaped/tampered with their souls during the time of the villains' death.

Because in Lilia's pre groovy, it was the goons and Maleficent, symbolizing his "family/home" are his soldiers and the Draconia family

And in Malleus' case, it was Maleficent and Diablo, which are Meleanor and Levan 😭😭✨💞💕

So Silver SINCERELY thinks Lilia and Malleus are his home/family... even if the ones reflected here are the heroes of Sleeping beauty and lowkey the Silver Owls (Philip/Aurora=Dawn/Leah and The 3 good fairies=Dawn's guardian fairies), The fact these are acfually from the cards of Malleus and Lilia kind of implies that even if hes from Silver Owls, the ones that really raised him up/perfectly embodies who he is would be Malleus and Lilia KSJAKJDD

Remember when I asked who wanted to see Lilia suffering? Well, there it is! More or less….! Just a little headcanon of mine, I like to imagine that Lilia let his hair grow because of Meleanor and Levan who liked to play and touch his hair.

A little reference to the Mulan scene, I don't think Lilia would cut his hair to "erase" the memories he may have with Meleanor or Levan, in a way, but maybe it could have been a way of dealing with the mourning or was it a way of taking the first step towards change?

(Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember if there was any information that explains the reason for the radical change in Lilia's hair.)

Lilia for a while confuses Malleus for Levan... He only doubted himself because of the horns... Do y'all remember who has a similar build/hair color/skin tone/lip shade as Malleus...

OMG! He didn't know that Lilia hatched him... Lilia tries to calm him down and says that it was him who told them not to say tell. Because if he knew the truth, then he might feel guilty.

At this point Lilia begins to mix up reality and memory. He's questioning why he's calling this person Malleus when Malleus still isn't supposed to know how to walk on two legs. Malleus soothes him, saying that it's alright, Lilia doesn't have to think, and he doesn't have to suffer anymore.

Malleus: "What dream would you like to have? A dream where both father and mother are alive? Or would you prefer a dream where you and your son live peaceful lives?

"I will give you anything and everything you wish for. Now, Lilia, take my..."

Silver: "FATHER---!!!!!"

Lilia is still confused and mixes up things, and Malleus looks at Silver and Sebek exasperatedly, as if they're pests that keep on popping up. That they being awake is bad, and that they should go back to sleep. Silver objects and Sebek tells him that there's no way a man born from so much love should grow up to be villainous and hated by the entire world.

Silver: "And that's why we will definitely defeat you. Lord Malleus... YOUR "BLESSING"!"

Because of that keyword, Lilia finally remembers everything that happened.

Lilia: "Well said. That's my disciples for you."

Lilia: "I must have taken a very long nap. Now you've done it, Malleus!"

Malleus: "Tsk. You've truly woken up, Lilia! But you need not worry. I will tuck you back to bed very soon."

Lilia: "Ha! Did you just say you will tuck me to bed? You've grown cocky, haven't you? Then do your worst!"

Lilia: "Everyone, after me!"

LILIA: "IT'S TIME TO RUN--!!"

Imagine having soulmates in Twisted Wonderland. Soulmates could be platonic or romantic.

Soulmates were connected in various ways. Some had the red string of fate, some the other’s eye color, some had words on the body, and others could hear voices.

For Lilia Vanrouge, it was colors.

He couldn’t see certain colors until he met his soulmates.

The first time he saw the color silver was when he was introduced to Meleanor Draconia. Her clothing and jewelry gave way to her status but also her fierce nature.

The first time he saw the color blue was when he met Levan. What a fitting color for somone so kind and calm. The perfect complimentary color to silver.

The years pass on, and yet, Lilia still couldn’t see certain colors.

What was green, purple, and red to him? When he had never known them? Who knew it would change his life so drastically when he first saw them?

The first time Lilia sees green; it appeared at the time of Malleus’ birth. The sharp acid color stood out to him as he hold onto the little fae. So feisty and rebellious just like his mother with fire spitting out of his mouth. As kind as his father as the baby fae then licked at his cheek in regret of any injury he may have given. A son born out of his love.

The first time Lilia sees purple; it came about on a whim. Visiting an old castle with years of memories. Holding a babe close as the little one cried. Purple eyes emphasized by tears. The little one calming as Lilia hummed him a loving lullaby, blessing the babe right after. A son he learned to love.

Lilia saw the world in an almost complete picture. He was content with that. Not many can say they had met their soulmates. Especially someone like him, who was graced with five.

Not to say he wasn’t curious about his missing one at times. Who was it that bore the color red?

The color known for passion, desire, and happiess?

A color symbolizing destined fate?

Imagine his surprise, when he met with you one day, and he suddenly saw the color red.

What a beautiful color it was.

He understood, then, the significance of the color red and its’ tie to you.

Your passionate nature.

Your desire to live life the way you wanted.

Your desire for happiness for yourself and for others.

You who would somehow end up bringing a smile to everyone’s face, be it fond or exasperated. The way you brought one to his just by being you.

You certainly charmed him, had him falling for you.

Was it the way you smiled at him? Maybe it was when you helped with his pranks?

The way you stood up to him when it came to his family? Maybe even how you would help him cook meals despite other’s warnings.

Or maybe it was the way he allowed himself to be vulnerable to you as he gradually let you into his heart? A place he rarely let anyone in.

How he looked forward to seeing you every day? Making him look forward to the future and not run from it.

The kisses you both would share in the hallways or in your rooms? The gentle and sometimes teasing touches. Your eyes shining bright as the stars in the sky as if he was your world as you had surely become his.

Lilia knew.

It was everything about you that ensnared him so irrevocably.

Red.

It also has another meaning, didn’t it?

It was the color of love.

His world complete.

It was filled with love.

It was truly beautiful.

How do you imagine Levan/Revan/ Mallenoa's husband?

Appearance, personality etc.

Revaan/Laverne/whatever-his-name-is's title sort of implies that he might be from a fantasy-Eastern country (they've established that in Twstland, 竜 = Eastern-style dragons, andドラゴン = Western-style dragons). and that's about as much as we know right now about...anything in regards to what he might look like. so I've been trying very hard not to form too much of a mental picture of him, because I'm still hoping we'll get to see him (or at least a silhouette)! ergo, in my head, he kind of looks like this:

so handsome. surely Malenoa fell in love at first glance.

I do think the funniest thing about what we've learned so far is that Malleus being kind of quiet and reserved and dignified...absolutely did not come from the Draconias. and he sure as heck did not learn it from Lilia. so he probably got a lot of that from his dad! the vibe I get from how Lilia talks about him is that he could be a bit of a prim little fancyboy sometimes, but was (mostly) willing to go along with his wife's zany antics out of love. he sounds sweet, honestly! I'm sorry he (maybe) died. :(

my favorite thing about Mal's parents is that Malenoa and Lilia's dynamic was "long-suffering guard and princess who has long been the cause of said suffering":

That scene, I must say, I felt almost like a viewer, like a guest in that scene. It was very much Jacob and Sam's scene. It was very much them bringing...it was very much their floor, and they took that floor, and they did a fantastic job. I was just--I felt almost redundant that day.

That is such a lovely quote from Levan though. There seems to be such an appreciation and admiration for what Jacob and Sam have created through their performances, and I could read about that all day.

Okay so Jacob did a podcast with Naomi that was released today and on it Naomi said someone at AMC told her "dont ask Jacob about race" she went ahead and ignored them as she should because that's insane and stupid but it's not lost on me that she was then replaced by a white woman who asks the most useless questions in the world. Nevermind AMC granting access to weird racist pedo apologists like Maven who dont even like the show but still to get to show their whole ass to an acclaimed director like Levan Akin. And a gaggle of other white interviewers/journalists who either are utterly useless or downright racist/antiblack and weird in their articles. Something incredibly nasty is at work and even if I sort of trust Rolin, I will never, ever trust AMC and I hope the higher ups go straight to hell.
