Ooo I like pairing up my own characters for no reason! Imma pick the ones stuck in my head rn and of course I haven't shown some of them so I'll describe what their deal is. (I will soon its just that they change every two seconds 😔😔)

1. Wanda- A nonbinary witch who's a private investigator tasked in finding a missing Whitaker coven member. (They're the one on my icon)

2. Lorelei- A mercenary for hire evoker who left the mansion along with her brother after she was left for dead by their group after saving her brother from a creeper explosion.

3. Clay- A mercenary for hire vindicator who followed behind his sister when she left despite working so hard to climb the ranks.

1. #4 and #2 are on their honeymoon and run into a friend staying in the same place. Do they spend time with the friend or ignore them in favour of romance?

Omg Myra and Lorelei??!- In canon there's crazy one sided pinning on Lorelei's side and Myra doesn't entertain her advances cause they're still mourning Brian, so the fact that they got married in this scenario is crazy to me.

Myra's wouldn't necessarily spend time with the friend but would offer a simple "hello" and "how are you?" And excuse herself to continue whatever plans she and Lorelei would have had. Lorelei doesn't have any friends so meeting and socializing a bit with Myra's friends doesn't harm anyone in her opinion.

2. Which is cuddlier, #1 or #5?

Wanda and Phyllis- Definitely Phyllis, Wanda is very touch adverse so the stars would of had to align perfectly for them to even want to cuddle at all.

3. What is #3 and #6's favourite makeout spot?

Clay and Brian?!- Clay would neverrr, anyways they're both really romantic so the place would be kind of cliche. Think something like under a tree right next to a river, moonlit and under the stars type of area.

4. Which is the big spoon and which is the little spoon, out of #5 and #4?

Phyllis and Myra- fun fact they had a brief romance until they decided they were better of as friends.

They would often disagree on who was little spoon, often so that they wouldn't even cuddle at all. The only thing that would settle their disagreements would be the other promising to do a random task of the other's choosing.

5. Who is the better cook, #3 or #2?

Clay and Lorelei- So glad this question is platonic cause these two are related.

Man neither of them. You'd be lucky if you got anything edible from either of them.

6. Who asks who out first, #6 or #1?

Brian and Wanda- Interesting.

Wanda is very dense and also aromantic, so Brian would be the one to ask them out only for the answer to be, "No".

Like Piers says, Councilor Marlowe Sidney of the Athens Zone is the youngest of the Councilors. They often serve as a mirror to Piers' own experiences. Marlowe is the Blessed Heir, the oldest child of the now-Chancellor of Athens and next in line to serve as the dictator/cult leader of the former college town. They grew up with their father and stepmother, and eventually their five younger half-siblings. Throughout their childhood, Marlowe was given speech after speech and lecture after lecture about their purpose, who'd they'd become, who they were expected to be. Silas always pushed them, and Marlowe deeply fears disappointing him. Marlowe is not out to their family back home, and often wears a wig when they are. Upon Chancellor Cosmo's sudden disappearance, and Silas's rise to the position, Marlowe was sent to Atlanta to serve as Councilor at the ripe age of 19. It was a culture shock to them, a change from the sheltered and cult-led childhood they'd experienced. In all the chaos of learning how to do things the "normal" way, Marlowe met Dr. Panya, a research scientists who'd left Athens. Xe understood their struggles to fit in and their interests in genetic research, and the two quickly became close friends. Councilor Sidney can usually be found in one of two places: In a meeting in the Forrest Room or down in the lab, dissecting corpses with Dr. Panya. Or alternatively, with their girlfriend that no one else is supposed to know about (JK it's Gretel).

While there are a lot of things about Three Houses that I’m excited to experience when I finally get around to playing it, one thing that really excited me about it is the fact that the characters like... actually have last names. I love tiny details like that.

Alright, so I thought about just doing the post and leaving you guys with the results, but I wanted to explain some of the choices I made because some of them might seem kind of weird unless explained. So:

‣  The first thing you’ll probably notice is that a lot of the surnames are heavily Greek. This is because Valla is supposed to be based on Greece from my understanding, but the problem is that... Nohr is supposed to be Western-based, but it draws a hell of a lot of inspiration from Rome and Greece as well. Hence why there’s a lot of Greek influence in the choosing of the names.

‣  You’ll also notice that none of the Hoshidan characters have middle names. That’s because it’s apparently not something done in Japan, which we all know Hoshido is heavily based on, so I didn’t think including them made sense. The only “Hoshidans” who have middle names are the Vallites, being Arete, Mikoto, Corrin, and Azura.

‣  Another thing I wanted to mention is that Nohr has a wide variation of name origins because it’s encompassing so many things. Since it’s supposed to have this Greece/Rome vibe while also having a hugely European one, I tried to match characters to the origins of their first name. So like, the Scottish name Niles warrants Fotheringham, the Latin name Felicia brings Santori, Hebrew-borne Peri brings Kohlenberg... that kind of thing.

‣  A little fun piece of trivia about this is that you’ll notice that Kaden and Keaton’s last names are entirely made-up. I imagine that the kitsunes and the wolfskins don’t really have a need for a last name back with their groups, but if they’re out with Nohr/Hoshido, I imagine they come up with something. So Keaton chooses “Bonefinder” because he loves bones. And Kaden chooses “Kireina” because it’s (supposedly, I don’t speak Japanese yet unfortunately) the Japanese word for “beautiful”.

‣  There is one character on this list who’s name doesn’t go with their name origin because nobody seems to be able to decide where it came from. And that’s Silas. I went through a couple last names for him until finally I was like you know what? He seems French. 

Alright, anyway, I hope you liked it! That’s all I have to say for now. Maybe I’ll do an Awakening one sometime soon...?

Q: Hi! I was wondering if you could find anything on the name Lenyer. I can't find any relevant information which is really frustrating. Anything that you could find would be super helpful!

A: Sure! I’ve found that Lenyer is a surname that comes from France, first appearing in Champagne. It comes from the name Lanier, which in turn comes from the word lanelier, which gives it the meaning of “one who makes woolen clothes”.

A: I think my opinion of it changes depending on where it’s being used. I love saying the name in a German accent, and it may work as a quirky name in countries of that area. However, I don’t know how it’d go here in Australia, or similar countries like the US, UK, NZ or Canada. I can see it having a lot of fun being poked at it (”wanker”), and if it’s a name that’s loved, may work better for a middle name. So I do actually like it, I’m just not sure about using it in an English-speaking country.
