WAIT IT'S JUST COME TO ME IN A VISION what if that one scene in Chinga where they're on the phone and Scully's reeling off that whole bit about witchcraft and Mulder asks her to marry him WELL WHAT IF all of that stuff about hex signs and divination and familiars and high and low magic came straight out of his Violent Crime profile on 'Serial Killers and the Occult' that he wrote in 1988 that Scully knew about literally Before Pilot but it took her five years to admit to him that she memorised the whole thing word for word just like Mulder memorised her Senior Thesis when they first met and THAT'S WHY he asks her to marry him because he knows what chosing to memorise someone's work MEANS-
