At least 100 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem this year amid a massive increase in Israeli military raids. It means this year is now on course to become the deadliest for Palestinians in the West Bank since 2015. The vast majority were shot dead by Israeli security forces and several by armed Israeli civilians.

The struggle against military occupation of Hawai‘i continues, but the historic and contemporary movements to demilitarize Hawai‘i, and Oceania at large, are steadfast and unwavering.

Israel's incoming national security minister is set to be the far-right firebrand Itamar Ben-Gvir - a staunch supporter of settlements who calls for stone-throwing Palestinians to be shot. He also wants Israeli soldiers to have immunity from prosecution in cases where Palestinians are killed. Dror Sadot from B'Tselem, the human rights group, described 2022 as an "extreme year" in terms of Palestinian fatalities. "There are many cases of protests where the Palestinians are using rocks, stones and sometimes other means, and Israel's army almost always uses disproportionate force," she said.

A group of students at McGill University have spent more than three weeks on hunger strike in an effort to force the Canadian college to divest from “companies supporting the Israeli military”.
The move follows months of protests and sit-ins at McGill and at universities around the world, as students and faculty members have protested against Israel’s military offensive in Gaza.
Documents on McGill’s website show that it holds investments in companies including Lockheed Martin, a defense contractor that has sold fighter jets to Israel, and Safran, a French air and defense company.
“The university of McGill has left us no choice because they’ve been ignoring the peaceful protests, the actions that have been taken by students and student groups on campus,” said Rania Amine, an undergraduate student at McGill who on Friday marked her 33rd day on hunger strike. [...]
Note from the poster @el-shab-hussein: it's been going on for three weeks but most of you are likely only learning about this now. This University is also Canada's top University, and one of the top 20 in the world iirc.
have been thinking a lot about a video i saw the other day (which i wish i had saved) which talked about how if you want to claim your irishness this weekend and celebrate saint patricks day, you should know that to be irish is to be pro palestine. because not only do we share the experience of colonisation and oppression - we were oppressed by the very same administration, and the very same man, lord balfour, who served as chief secretary of ireland and is also responsible for the balfour declaration and the beginning of the occupation of palestine.
if you want to claim your irishness this weekend - know that you’re not entitled to it if you don’t stand with the people of palestine. just as ireland stood against apartheid we are against the genocide of the palestinian people. and you can dye your rivers green and wear all the tacky clothing you want but know this: none of that matters if you don’t stand for those who are oppressed. because we were once and so we owe it to those around the world to stand with them and not to be silent in the face of colonialism, violence and genocide.
