What would the Marauders era characters do for living in a non magic au p.1.

James Potter

He for sure would have a very physically demanding job. He's also a very caring and kind person with a need to help everyone around him. So the perfect job for him would be a nurse. It does not only require being very understanding and caring but also very firm and often physically fit if a patient needs to be put into line or stranded (which happens more than you might think). He would also be amazing with kids who are usually scared of hospitals.

Sirius Black

He would definitely be self-employed, not having to stick to a strict schedule or be ordered around by anyone. He would also want to do something artistic but not in a standard way. Repairing and modifying old furniture or things in general would let him do it. He would find an old cabinet or vase in the garbage and then take it home, repair and badazzle it and then sell it online.

I'm writing a marauders fic set in a non magical world while they are at uni. I need thoughts about what u I degrees they do. So far James is doing history, Sirius art, Reg English lit/ classics, Lily history, Evans maybe Economics or business or law even? Barty art? Thinking Dorcas and Mary as biology, Pandora philosophy Remus english lit or classics (same as reg)

It won't really make a difference but I do just want to find some degrees which suit each character.

Comment: I didn't know I needed Remus as a catholic priest in my life but I'm so glad this fic made me reconsider that. Holy shit, this fic was so good, it's genuinely one of my absolute favorite fics I've read this year! I've been binge reading mollymarymarie's fics recently and all of them are amazing, but I especially loved this one, with all the yearning and delicious slow burn and Remus as a hot priest, Moony as the hot bass player and Sirius just (rightfully) thirsty for both. Also I just ADORE Harry and Teddy in this fic!

Obviously the theme is not going to be for everybody, but if you think you'd enjoy reading about Remus as a hot priest and haven't read this one yet WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, GO READ IT

A new WiP from me... yes I know. You don't need to say it.

This is based on the movie Yesterday, because I love it, and I wanted to write something happy.

Remus Lupin is a singer/songwriter.

Or, at least he's trying to be.

He's also a mess of squashed down, ill advised, best left alone, FEELINGS, in regard to Sirius Black. His friend, manager, and roadie.

He's not however, successful, at anything.

Until he is, inexplicably.

Remus clips his case shut and his eyes drift to the amp and cords he needs to start packing up, Sirius is already wheeling the handcart over for them to pile everything on. Keeping Remus on task, just like always.  

“Good to see you two are together then,” Dorcas says, her eyebrows wiggling lewdly, “finally shagging is it?” 

“N-no,” Remus feels his insides curl up, “No.” he repeats firmly. 

Sirius’s laugh is just as awkward as Remus feels, “No, never,” he tells Dorcas, pulling out his phone, and starting to walk away, handcart abandoned.

“Not once,” he adds, oddly sharp before he ducks out under the tent flap and disappears into the crowd. Square shoulders and ripped jeans, hair blue-black under the afternoon sun. Remus has to force himself to look away.

regulus barty and evan have to do some community service for school (or reg is helping barty and ev out bc they got arrested) so they get put in charge of watering plants outside a huge store on a hot day

barty, who doesn't have a shameful bone in his body, is almost naked while Evan is in swim shorts and a t. regulus is the only one with a long sleeve shirt and dress pants bc he didn't expect to be the one watering plants .

Anyways, the hose they're using crosses the street so when cars run over it it fucks with their water pressure.

along comes james sitting shirtless in marlenes car. they cross over the hose and james, in a loud voice, says "noo!!! marls, you ran over the cute guys hose!! he worked so hard to get it across why would you do that!!!"

and marlene just rolls her eyes "stfu james it's the only way you over heating bitch"

When her mind was made up, she met his eyes again and found him leering at her. "Is this what you normally wear?" he asked, gesturing to her white and black polka dot blouse, one eyebrow raised in amusement. "It certainly fits your persona better than a leather jacket."

Hermione rolled her eyes, but answered his challenge with a smile. "Sirius picked out that jacket and I still wear it today... just not to work," she explained, triumphantly.

"And I suppose he's not really your Uncle either?" he asked, amused.

She smirked. "No, I was quite pleased to have come up with that one on the fly," she replied. "My, how the tables have turned, Fenrir. You know, when I first came to you, you had to check me for a wire. Maybe we better check you... just to make sure that you aren't simply spying on us for Riddle's benefit."

AU Headcanon Ask Game: Modern and non-magic AU for Maritus, please?

maritza & linus | modern non-magic au

maritza krum is the daughter of the bulgarian president vasil krum. because of his political position, she's been in the public eye for most of her teenage years. she begs for her parents to let her apply to a university in the united states so that she can have a more normal university experience.

after settling in, she meets a fellow student linus sullivan when he helps her pick out some books in the library. she becomes interested in him and they get to know each other, connecting easily on a deeper level.

martiza doesn't share her father's identity with linus at first, wanting him to like her for who she is. she's also afraid that her identity would make things difficult between the two since linus's life is very different from hers. linus is also private and doesn't seem to like crowds.

maritza's choice of university is eventually found out by the press and linus also finds out the truth of who she is. at first he freaks out and feels betrayed.

eventually maritza explains herself and he gives her another chance after realising that he has fallen in love with her. the two start properly dating. he never gets used to the attention that comes with dating maritza but luckily they can have a fairly normal life in the usa.

Remus Lupin

I love the idea of Remus having some kind of disability connected with legs/moving, so we gonna stick with that. His job would involve books. No questions. He would work in a book shop and would volunteer in a library in his free time. The grannies/grandpas would ADORE him. He could also organise reading groups for children and would bring Sirius along to do silly voices and act out scenes.

Peter Pettigrew

He would own a bakery. Provide all other marauders with delicious yet nutritious pastries and ask Euphemia Potter and Hope Lupin for some recipes. He would have flour on his clothes 24/7 even on days when he wouldn’t work. Sweets on parties? Peter made them. Need food for an event? Call Peter. No one would be able to resist his baking.

I've seen people make human AUs and equate Winter's scavenger fascination with being like. a crazy cat person. and while that is really good and I do think Winter would and should be crazy about cats, I do think like... if you are going to give him an equivalent interest you gotta go nicher than that. Comment: This fic had everything I want from a fake dating fic, and the premise of Sirius sending Lily a fake wedding invite to get a free coffee maker is just so hilarious, if you haven't read it already I highly recommend reading it!

In love with the idea of captain marvel being Billy's imaginary friend. Like, it'd be so easy. Early depictions had them as almost fully separate people sometimes, like one soul with two minds, rather than just two filters like we mostly see now.

But imagine a Billy down on his luck, hurt and hiding from police and criminals alike, daydreaming the hours away as children do, taking inspiration from all the superheroes rising to fame, making little stories to play out his dreams of saving the world with a generic action doll he found while dumpster diving once. Most of the paint's rubbed off.

Red's his favourite colour, his comfiest jumper is a bright ruby even after all the grime and washes. Gold, too, it's shiny and warmer than silver! A hero cape is a must, big and eye catching! And he can fly, of course, like superman, and in his daydreams, when he's sore and frustrated after a long day's grind, his superhero is smart enough and knows all the right words to get the bullies to stop without resorting to fighting.

His superhero fantasy is one he spends a lot of time on, the first one he goes for when struggling to sleep at night, and he can picture it so clearly. Captain marvel is big and bright and kind, strong enough to lift the boxes for the old lady up the road who's moving all by himself, fast enough to catch Jamie who fell out of the tree on Saturday and broke his leg and couldn't come to class for weeks. He appears at the entrance to alleys when Billy is cornered, he steps up behind to cover for him when he gets caught shoplifting, he sits at the bus stop with him when it's pouring rain and the right bus doesn't seem to be coming.

And then the wizard comes, or rather whisks him away, and like a magician from a fairytale breathes life into his imaginary friend until Billy feels thrice his size and a million times more invincible.

From then on, captain marvel is a real hero, just like Billy is a real boy, and as one they save the whole city, and then the whole world, and get cats down from trees and help Mrs Victoria move the last of her boxes and she gives them a pinch in the cheek and cookies for the road and sometimes it hurts but it's so much better than he imagined.

Drarry Compilations

I'm planning to draw several of non-magical au!drarry based on some popular trope :)) For day one Draco worked as a Traveling Photographer and His forever amused Assistant/Husband. The Shenanigans they got into while trying to get that one perfect picture tm is legendary.

For Day two the famous CEO businessman Draco spending time with his Farmer Husband Harry. Just imagine Draco got lost in some countryside, his car broke down, no phone signal at all and suddenly there's a very handsome farmer helping him... maybe the country life isn't so bad anymore in Draco's eyes.

And have an extra comic where the Heir to the honored house of Malfoy tried to buy a movie ticket. Anyway what do you think?? Do you have any favorite non magical au Drarry since i want to draw more of those :)
