Here's the thing and I'm not saying it's ok, it's obviously not in any way, shape or form, but since I'm assuming you have all the tags of bucktommy filtered perhaps you haven't seen it. Most of the bucktommy blogs (including ones that also ship buddie) have gotten many many hate asks, insulting them, accusing them of something, and just being incredibly disgusting. You literally can't go to the bucktommy tag without finding many posts of buddie fans who tag bucktommy saying shit about the ship, the actors, and the people who ship them. Saying that bucktommy shippers must feel threatened by buddie going canon and that's why they are rude is absolutely crazy (though there might be some that do, who knows?). Now, I'm sure that going to the buddie tag is also hard to do and there must be people who post shit about buddie and I know there are many blogs that are anti the extreme buddie fans. So, what I'm trying to say is that both ships have people that are purposely posting things to make the others mad, that are actively trying to continue this -frankly- stupid ship war. And they are being racist (on both sides, not just bucktommy shippers, I saw a bucktommy blog from a POC person get an ask calling them the n* word) and just plain awful. So, assuming that buddie blogs are better and do nothing wrong is incorrect, and it goes the other way as well. I really don't understand how people can be so mean, and so self-centered over two ships that who even knows what's going to happen? Everyone, absolutely everyone should do better. No one is better than the other one.

Louis <3 I think this is an affect of how likable and overtly sympathetic he is in the amc show but I've seen people getting genuinely offended over Louis being described in fandom (and by Anne rice herself) as a manipulative cold hearted ass who uses his perceived vulnerability and gentleness to distract from the fact that he is just as cruel if not crueler then the other vampires. Like Louis does nottt have strong morals or high empathy lmao. Book Louis weaponizes his privilege like a white woman crying to self victimize into making the other vampires look worse them him 😭 . He refuses to kill humans for a while not bcus it hurts him to take life (he actually takes more pleasure in it then most), he refuses bcus he has catholic brain the way a christians who say "how do atheists have morals without god?" do, misunderstanding that most people actually care about other people and dont need an existential threat to encourage them not to hurt others.

His moral compass is self centered and based in up keeping the appearance of self restraint and monk style lack of enjoying himself, not empathy. I think the common fandom perception of Armand as the crazy unhinged "omg I can't believe he actually did that in the books??" sadistic maniac villain guy is funny but not really accurate. Armand explicitly not only tries to avoid violence but dislikes it and finds it hard to comprehend why someone would seek out violence and conflict.

The reason he is always doing fucked up shit isn't out of a lestat-esc desire to cause chaos, it's bcus his highly strung ptsd brain has him convinced that the world is a battle ground and he must always be defending himself and acting out in violence.

Since acting out in violence is a reaction hes been taught throughout his life to be standard and necessary, as violence is something so normalized to him he considers it more of a tedious chore then a last resort measure, he usually reacts to conflict in ways that are objectively extreme to anyone who isn't thinking from his perspective. In qotd he even asks Daniel why men choose to fight in wars, explaining that he doesn't understand the draw of violence (bcus he's not a man) and he can't comprehend the supposed thrill of it.

Marinette is a sweet girl who /has/ shown that black/white mentality before. Adrien was friends with Chloé so he must be awful like her(until he directly proved otherwise to her). Sabrina offered to help her on the group project, so all her mean actions must be Chloé. Lila lied once so she must be some manipulative monster. Kagami is a bit aloof, so she must be a frigid bitch who would make Adrien miserable. So on and so forth. (We'd see more later on, even in Season 4, like how Zoé was nice to her for 5 seconds so she must be a good person!)

Marinette is also a girl who has very loving parents. No matter what hiccups happen, they love and support her no mater what. Harsh words from them are because of things that are /genuinely/ her fault like breaking a rule, and are never meant to be derogatory and never harmful. So she has trouble seeing a parent who does not love their child and want them to be better.

And most importantly: Chloé is complicated. Cast vicariously as both Victim and Villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. She is both someone who was abused, and who has begun abusing others as both a way to deal with said abuse and because it's what she knows. But Marinette has seen a lot more of 'Chloé, the cold and heartless bully' than 'Chloé, the scared and unloved child'. It is incredibly difficult for her to see both. And like, that's understandable. Because I've seen that happen a lot to people, especially when directly victimized.

So like. I get it. I get why she might think like that.

puppet headcanons!!!

ive been plannign this pos for weeks! now i have to wake up at like 7 tomorrow and its the middle of the night so perfect time for me to write it out!

i dont know how long this will be just a warning!!! this includes everything from the puppets' personalities to physical and behavioral quirks to relationships!

ok so generally i think all the puppets have personalities that are larger-than-life because they are puppets. generally symbols of childhood folly and entertainment. goofy ah puppets

Jester:

this bloke is much sweeter than we tend to give him credit for... sure hes a lil bitch but he will always be there for his friends. he has a surprising amount of strength and know-how as we see in some scenes of the films. when he displays emotions they are always comically overdramatic like the clown he is. he has a hard time displaying his sorrow, though. when he feels genuine sorrow he tries to mask it with his dramatic flair. blade, leech, and decapy can see when hes really feeling low though, and cheer him up when they detect that melancholy. jester's also super sarcastic. sarcasm is roughly 70% of his humor

Torch:

torch is like that one guy who WILL do ANYTHING. if he sees a wild animal he WILL try to pet it, if he sees an interesting plant he WILL try to eat it. even so, he wont do something unless he's absolutely convinced it will have a good outcome for him or his friends (this doesnt mean its true, he just thinks so). hes a little dumb but supremely kindhearted. he never understands jester's sarcasm or jokes and the others have to explain them to him. he has a very literal sense of humor. hes always expecting the best out of people, and can get disappointed very easily. he can only see in shades of red.

Blade: ok so lets get one thing straight torch and blade are boyfriends, blade is very nervous and jittery. he has nervous habits of twitching and fidgeting with stuff. he scratches up furniture like a cat when hes feeling uneasy or restless. hes sleepy a lot because hes always unconsciously keeping himself still, also he stays up late a lot spying on the current enemy. hes easily spooked. he's an awkward and clumsy guy, but he tries to be serious and stay on task. he notices everything. he can also only see black, white, and green. he and torch ponder the concept of color together a lot. he dreams about hands. he collects bones

Additional Blade and Torch Thoughts:

-they nap together often

-blade explains jester's jokes to torch all the time

-they try to cook together because knife+flamethrower, it doesnt work out and they have to throw their food in the sea because it is so foul

-they have a shared goal of someday getting onto the roof of the inn. they dont know what they want to do up there but they want to go

Pinhead: he is the big brother. hes usually very calm and patient and rarely raises his voice, usually only at jester or six. one of his eyes stays shut because of (good and understandable reason). his eyesight is not too keen. he thinks about pronouns sometimes, what are his pronouns. i know he likes trucks, hes probably taken one from an enemy before. hes trying to build a mechanism so he can drive it on his own. hes not a very big talker but hes known to take part in conversation when its needed. he carries the other guys (except torch, torch too big). he likes to give them piggyback rides. he has a secret passion for poetry and occasionally he will write some of his own. he doesnt think its very good but leech woman has read a few of his works and if you ask her she will write you a 5 page essay on how compelling and thought-provoking his words are. he can pick up things 10 times his size/weight like an ant

Sixshooter: always on the grind. he is an alpha male. he gets hella bitches. he loves doing target practice. he's actually responsible for a miscalculation of the local woodpecker population, because "damn theres so many holes in these trees, must be a lotta woodpeckers over here!" we all know he can climb like a motherfucker, he can probably go upside down too like a bug. i saw our friend mountain dew glowstick flavor say that he can stand on the ceiling and i agree. he could also swim well hypothetically, but he's too nervous to try that out. he watches workout videos and works along with them even though he is just a little puppet. he laughs at every one of jester's stupid jokes, and his laugh is BIG and LOUD. he giggles his cheeky little giggle very often as well.

Tunneler: truly an anomaly. truly an enigma. he once heard the myth of "digging to china" and it didnt go very well. He's jammed his drill multiple times from getting dirt and grime in it from digging so much. he doesnt think he needs to worry about it that much because he's a PUPPET, so he's basically IMMORTAL right????? he mixes leaves and dirt in puddles and pretends to make soup. he likes to hang out with sixshooter and jester and laugh at the goofy jokes they crack. here and there he'll crack one too, but its much stranger and usually will just be met with weird looks. "why did the chicken cross the road? ground beef wholesale." he's a little socially awkward, but he doesnt realize it. he's very easygoing and doesnt really notice as many issues or disturbances as blade does per say.

Decapitron: decapy is like that one guy in a cartoon that explains the moral of the episode to the other characters. like in sesame street, he'd be the human and the other puppets would be the, well, puppets. he's very nice and calm like pinhead, but he doesnt ever raise his voice, even at six or jester. he likes to problem-solve and do critical thinking. he loves figuring out new things. he approaches everything with a very open mind. since he's kind of like the messenger of andre he sometimes gets random flashbacks to things andre experienced. sometimes theyre nice but often times theyre memories of elsa's death or the burnt up puppet theater, and they'll shake him up for a few days. he doesn't usually talk about this issue to the others, though. he can see a very wide range of colors almost like a bee, and often talks to blade and torch about color since they have a limited spectrum.

Leech Woman: she is totally cool! she has a bit of an interest in fashion and sometimes makes her own outfits from found stuff around the inn. she sucks at cleaning, though. whenever she gets her clothes dirty she dunks them in the ocean and gets confused when they come out all sandy. she sometimes wakes up in a cold sweat, worried about the whereabouts of her leeches. the leech she puked back in '98... where is it now? she has a very strong hunger because of all the leeches. she has to feed them as well. often times when she's getting a dose of elixir she will put drops of animal blood in it to quench her neverending thirst. but because of all that weird magic nonsense, she'll act weird and goofy for a little bit after. its worth it though! proud mother of an infinite host of leeches.

Additional Decapitron and Leech Woman Thoughts: -decapitron will clean leech's clothes for her. a devoted househusband -they watch lightning storms together -sometimes they go out and dance together when it's rainy out -leech is the only guy decapy vents (amongus) to about his flashbacks -they take early morning walks together every sunday, rain or shine, sleet, snow, or hail.

Mephistopheles (i know hes not one of the main ones but..... he holds a special place in my heart.) this will be short because i dont know how much i have to say about him. he talks in a swedish accent all the time. he can manipulate fire (yeah this is based off the comics). his orb shows him cool stuff sometimes. he pirated sing 2 and is currently watching it via the orb. he knows a surprising amount about wine and alcohol even though he cannot drink it. he can only see in black and white, but he has no desire to learn about other colors. he sharpens and paints his stupid little fingernails every week, and polishes his horns every other day.

i adore espresso! im a bit mentally ill but basically he is like a sibling to me i love him he's one of my favorites

im fucking sick of cookie run fans though!

everyone is so obsessed with shipping him with that white BEAST madeleine that they completely ignore what both of their personalities are like and how their dynamic works In Canon.

espresso is not a stuck-up, haughty bitch. i don't understand how this is the consistent view of his personality - i mean, i do; it's because his interactions with madeleine are the only ones anyone ever pays any damn attention to. Like, look at the way he talks to other people for once? he is not the tsundere of your fujoshi bait ship. straight up he just doesn't like madeleine.

he is kind, relaxed, and very, very mild tempered. yes, he's proud, but? he deserves it goddamn look at what he's accomplished? he's also just busy af. but not once does he look down upon other people like they're less than him. unlike a certain white beast i know (MADELEINE? no one remembers how much of a DICK he was to knight over something as superficial as ARMOR.)

look at how comfortable snow sugar was with approaching him in the puppet theatre event. yes, he tells them to leave long requests in writing but think about it. he was probably actively busy in that moment, which means snow sugar was not only comfortable with approaching him, they were comfortable with interrupting him. snow sugar is shy as hell! but that is just the aura espresso gives off. he may be busy, but he is friendly and patient.

his teaching methods are. unorthodox. he's certainly not as eager to actively teach as latte for instance, but that doesn't make him an ass either? something something, being employed at the institute allows him easy access to the materials he needs to continue his research, but the specific magic he specializes in is volatile and genuinely complex, as we see in the teaching event. i don't think he's necessarily wrong in being reluctant to teach it to inexperienced magic users. especially a full class of them. like that could get dangerous very quickly. it's hard enough for him to keep an eye on just one kid doing it.

aside from a few instances of being irritated at formulas going wrong, the only times espresso's irritated/angry sprites are used are when madeleine is around. because he doesn't like madeleine. at all. and even then, he is, for the most part, outwardly polite to him. i know it's an insane concept for some of you. but black people are not always angry and irritable. espresso is genuinely friendly and even playful and teasing to everyone who is not Madeleine Cookie.

but the yaoi-esque ship is too important to yall and you just haaaaaave to re-interpret espresso in the most racist way imaginable. i know. 🧍🏾‍♀️

it's not cute. they do not have a healthy dynamic. the bait from devsisters means nothing they only do what makes them the most money. like. is this your cutesy wootsy "theyre soooo gay and in love" ship?? really??

-I know, on a meta level the showrunners probably wanted to just reset things to the status quo of him having a secret identity. But. We've been doing that for (2) seasons, I'd love if season 3 could be like, his parents adjusting to this and trying way harder to learn more and accept it (and the shenanigans that could come from that) and for fun, if he didn't wipe the students memories, it could be him being popular for a while, then everyone slowly realizing, oh, he's still Danny. Like. he might have ghost powers but hes Just The Same Guy instead of putting him on a pedestal (and seeing them all try and help him hide it from the giw/people who don't know!!)

the one common perspective that everyone seems to be able to agree on is that techno / sbi + schlatt + tubbo + ranboo are just genuinely funnier than the dteam, and honestly yes it's because if the popularity. if you go back and watch the dteams older (im talking before 2-3mil subs) videos they are funnier than their current ones and i think it's because they're trying to shift their humor to a broader audience?

the minecraft community has always been mainly queer/poc/ndv kids because it was exiled away from "acceptable society" for so long that only the people who had already been "exiled" continued to enjoy it. I, as an example, stopped playing when it became a cringy thing because I was so worried about being seen as weird. now that ive discovered, come to terms with, and enjoy my queerness, i realize that if i had known i was queer back when mc was exiled i wouldve continued to play because i alrwady would have known what it was like to be part of that seperate society. (Please keep reading i promise I have a point)

but then minecraft came back. minecraft became mainstream again, and it came back HARD. watching it go from something that you would be bullied immensely for to something that you would be bullied for not doing was an extreme experience. in all honesty im still angry about it, but that's another topic. when minecraft became mainstream it brought with it all of the people that hadn't been part of the exiled societies yk? including... the dream team.

dream blew up. we all know how much he blew up. i personally dont believe he cheated on the speedrun but to each their own (although after reading your stuff and becoming more critical of them im realizing i might need to reexamine that), and the speedrun controversy brought even more people to his base (cough drama loving straight white girls cough).

when they were brought into the fanbase that's when it started to go downhill. they shifted their humor to fit that, or maybe their humor was always that and they just got more confident in showing it after they had gotten a fan base to back them up. which is also why techno / sbi + schlatt + tubbo + ranboo (who ill refer to just as techno&co now because he's the main one but also that's long as hell lmao) are funnier than them!

for one, their fanbases are smaller. now 5 mil is by no means a small number, but compared to dream's 16 mil? yknow. especially with techno's wack upload schedule he's never had to worry about having a stan fan base because the only people who stay are people who genuinely enjoy his content the way it is.

two, techno&co are mostly ndv. techno has adhd, tubbo has dyslexia, wilbur had and maybe still has depression, ranboo has anxiety, tommy hasnt confirmed or denied his adhd but im betting he at least has borderline. i am in no ways saying that being part of one minority (in this case ndv) gives you free range over another (queer), but all minorities have this understanding about what it is to be part of an exiled community (if that makes sense).

philza and schlatt, not so sure if they're ndv, but they're also older and generally more mature and esp in philza's case, theyve had their chance to make their bad jokes and pull stupid shit and theyve grown out of it (if they ever had that phase at all). techno&co have that understanding and even if they dont know where the boundaries are they know that queer humor (and all humor! other than techno, sbi doesnt really make gay jokes) going to have boundaries, and they respect that.

three, techno is the funniest bitch because he has adhd. i dont take criticism on this point because im right.

I really like. Minecraft fans is So varied cuz like u said it was so very 'cringe' before. honey first of all, you are right! no one has the right to be biphobic! him being biphobic is bad! you are right about the fact that he never apologized either! but now here's the thing.

1. CC is bad at handling this shit. there are not enough malec scenes cause cc definitely has a problem with managing scene times and pushing queer characters to the background and i hate her for that. so criticize her for that for overlooking this. if u feel she did.

2. at the same time i believe sometimes as authors it's not always their job to label problematic behaviors with their tags.. the narrator doesn't go like *deep voice* "and alas he is being biphobic" or "shameful! he is slutshaming",, they instead show that behavior and leave it to reader to read it and feel uncomfortable and realize what alec is doing is wrong. she didn't glorify. we all knew alec was letting his insecurities get better of him, and in the scene where he says all this when they are sitting on the table at the wedding or whatever, everyone at the table is mad and upset at alec's moodiness and it mentions that magnus is hurt and that's a clear indication as to what he did was wrong.

3. so to fill gaps this we headcanon! we think about his future behaviors and his will to get better and we tell ourselves that he did better. he apologized. and did everything in his power to make sure that the future shadowhunters know what it is and don't commit the exact same mistakes he made!

4. alec isn't someone who was biphobic KNOWING he was being biphobic. it's not like he stabbed magnus and because stabbing is so obvious he should go and say "magnus i am sorry for stabbing you.". it's biphobia, that bitch doesn't know that's a word! he learned that he could like men few months ago! so he can't go to magnus and be like "i am sorry for being biphobic",, but he gonna be like "maggie babes am sorry for being a fucking dick!" which he did. trust me he hates himself so much more than any of us can for doing this to the one love of his fucking life!

i can understand that maybe some people no matter what race for example have been in a situation similar to magnus's and dont feel their ex partner deserves forgiveness WHICH IS VERY VALID because it's totally their decision,, among a lot of other kinds of perspectives and experiences which may come into play and may make people not like the handling of the situation

but my experiences are equally valid? this doesn't have to a be political stance and this isn't a situation that needs to be justified morally right or wrong. this is just an example of how it MAY play out in real life human interactions. this is just a story, a narrative in which they have instead embraced forgiveness, and the reason and complexity behind alec's behavior is given. we all can coexist while having having different personal choices. u dont have to attack the ship or me or question my ethical beliefs on that. i don't think anyone has the right to attack me or anyone who gets will to live from book malec because it has taught them things and made them feel seen. u dont like book malec, no one is forcing u to love it. u don't hate on it. and u dont invalidate people. that's basic decency.
