The team not communicating about their Halloween costumes AT ALL and all thinking they have a HILARIOUS one of a kind idea to dress up as Roy so all the players start filing in one at a time waiting to see the annoyed look on Roy’s face only to find out that everybody else had the same idea and Roy has to spend the entire night putting up with every single one of them trying to copy his voice and mannerisms and complaining that he sounds and acts nothing like that (which okay is true of Dani’s impression of him but a lot of them are pretty good at it)

Jamie’s impression of him annoys Roy the most and he argues against it the most, but Keeley is absolutely losing her shit laughing and refusing to pretend it isn’t accurate

Is Jamie absolutely exaggerating Roy’s age? Yes. Is he trying to exaggerate Roy’s grouchiness and accidentally landing on almost direct quotes out of him that just make Keeley laugh harder? Absolutely. And he’s been watching Roy’s mannerisms and locking them into his memory to use to make fun of him for years before he ever decided to dress up as him so his performance is the most ridiculously over the top and yet also the most accurate at the same time

Re: The Ghost. I recall Hawkman fighting a fellow called the Ghost, later called the Gentleman Ghost. From the accounts of his first few fights, there seemed be some doubt if the Ghost was a man or a ghost. They looked the same in any event.

I will admit to making a mess up here, friends. Yes you are totally right but BOY did I have to go digging for this information!

When most archives relate the story of the Gentleman Ghost's first appearance, they do so using his modern name. We still know him as "The Gentleman Ghost". But it kept itching in the back of my head so I used the processes available to me.

I busted out my staff card and spent a WEEK digging through unorganized archives here at the Perisphere. And you'll never guess what I found.

Hmm "Ghost". Ok, this is obviously referring to The Gentleman Ghost's first caper, the date even matches. But one clipping does not a source make. So I found this.

Alright. Plot thickening...and then I found it.

(New York Times headline "The Ghost makes off with millions in portraits! 10 heists in one night!") Staring at me, right there in black and white and read all over. For his first caper, newspapers only referred to the villain we know of as Gentleman Ghost as JUST "The Ghost". I don't know where they first start calling him "The Gentleman Ghost" but I checked, no newspaper we have on archive here was calling him that on his first appearance. I do not know how you came into this information, my friend but I know you blew MY mind.

i like to think Jon just picked up skills with help from the Eye, not for the purpose of being a hobby, but to solve problems he noticed but didn't have the needed skills to fix (like plumbing, electrical work, et cetera)

like imagine:

basira or melanie comes into the institute late, maybe they forgot something or maybe they're just trying to fuck with the Eye, regardless, they hear suspicious noises coming from Jon's office and throw open the door, brandishing their weapon of choice to find Jon sitting in the dark, illuminated only by the screen of his laptop and,,,,coding ?

they demand to know what he's doing because since when has Jon known about anything computer related ?? he looks up, fairly annoyed, though whether from the intrusion or his current project is unclear, and explains that the institute website is dreadfully out of date (forcing people to actually come into the institute) to the point it borders on serving the Spiral ("it's worse than yale's art website ! have you seen the yale art website ?!") and he's decided to fix it. mostly to fuck with Elias. but also because it needs to be done by someone. better him than another avatar

Melanie / Basira leave Jon tapping away at his keyboard in the dark, utterly bewildered, but hey, at least he's not traumatizing random passersbys anymore
